It's quite curious how John Kreese in his past was very similar to Vi from Arcane:

Past!John Kreese and Vi

-They are impulsive.

-They are very good at fighting.

-They are protective, especially with their loved ones.

-They grew up in poverty.

-They lost their families.

-They protected a little girl in the past (Powder, Kim Da-Eun) being the only ones who encouraged them and had faith in both girls to the point that both girls came to admire them.

-They are respected by their friends and colleagues for their bravery.

-They blame themselves for a tragedy that happened to them (For Vi it's the death of Vander, Mylo and Claggor and Powder becoming Jinx. For Kreese it's that during the Vietnam War he refused to kill a fellow soldier who died anyway and as a result they fell into a trap where he and his friends were captured and almost killed).

The difference is that while Vi is fighting to keep her good heart, Kreese ended up losing it.

Getting new Arcane and Cobra Kai episodes back-to-back is so funny because on one hand we got:

Karate gangs fighting against the evil old senseis to prevent the spread of their karate in one city

Vs

Actual gangs fighting for power of the underground and also fighting against their lifelong oppressors that want to wipe them out completely as a society

And yes, I am equally invested in both

I believe that if Chozen, Kreese, Da Eun, or Dennis and sensei wolf had not been present in episode 9, Daniel would have probably jumped into the jacuzzi and started ranting about his problems to Terry while smoking the cigarette that Terry was holding. Daniel was stressed out, and he definitely needed someone to talk to

Terry started saying his monologue

Daniel: shut up and make some room you don't even want to know the stuff I'm dealing with right now also why the fuck are you still smoking at this age

an entire episode where chozen told the kids to go party and then has to chase them down across barcelona on a SCOOTER this show is a COMEDY

I love that Da-Eun is stuck in the middle of Kreese and Terry's breakup because you know she doesn't take it seriously. Terry threw Kreese in jail, and Kreese was ready to stab him, and she knows them well enough not to be impressed by any of it. They're out there committing international crimes and to her it's just gay drama between friends she's had since 4th grade.
