(—) ★ spotted!! GENEVIEVE EVANS on the cover of this week’s most recent tabloid! many say that the 30 year old looks like SIMONE ASHLEY, but i don’t really see it. while the FORMER PLAYBOY BUNNY / FORMER VICTORIA'S SECRET ANGEL / CALL HER DADDY PODCAST HOST / FOUNDER OF THE LUXURY EMPIRE HOTELS CHAIN is known for being SAVY my inside sources say that they have a tendency to be BLUNT. i swear, every time i think of them, i hear the song BITCH BETTER HAVE MY MONEY by RIHANNA {SHE/HER, CISFEMALE }
˗ˏˋ * ‣ 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐬 :
connections || musings || instagram || headcanons
𝓼𝓽𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓼𝓽𝓲𝓬𝓼
name: genevieve evans
age: thirty
nicknames: genny, ginny, vivi
date of birth: october 3rd, 1994
astrological sign: libra
place of birth: georgia
occupation: former playboy bunny / vs angel model / host of call her daddy podcast / founder of the luxury empire hotels chain
career claim: kendra wilkinson/anna nicole smith, behati prinsloo, alex cooper
label: the wild card
positive traits: blunt, spontaneous, head-strong, determined
negative traits: crass, impulsive, wild, stubborn
characters/celebrities she’s like: kendra wilkinson, behati prinsloo, nicole richie, lala kent, anna nicole smith, pamela anderson, alex cooper
𝓫𝓲𝓸𝓰𝓻𝓪𝓹𝓱𝔂
with her wild eyes and thrill seeking personality, genevieve evans was never a girl that was meant to be tamed.
being adopted at birth by the evans family, genevieve gave everyone in their sweet little southern town a run for their money.
she was a spitfire - was always the one playing pranks, causing trouble, throwing parties and breaking hearts. she had never been one of the 'pretty' girls with bows in her hair and fluffy dresses and always had been one that preferred hanging out with the boys, they weren't as scared to be themselves and it was as a little girl that she noticed how society so differently treated men and women.
she was wickedly smart and calculating, but school and structure and rules were never her thing. she was always someone who liked to march to the beat of her own drum.
she lasted two months in the local community college before hauling ass over to los angeles, trying to make something of herself. she had tried her hand at acting, but after some extra work and weird cameos in insurance commercials, she decided to walk her eighteen year old self right into the mecca of objectification - the playboy mansion.
she managed to get into one of hugh's party, without an invite, and even managed to charm the infamous man enough to offer her a chance to show what she had. she played the whole dumb bimbo role well. sex sold, after all, and after her first centerfold, her and a few of the other girls began becoming household names.
when genny was in her early 20's, victoria's secret came knocking and she bunny hopped her way straight out of the playboy mansion.
for seven years, genny was 'the bad girl' of the vs angels and lived the jetsetting life of a model. she ended up walking the catwalk of every designer in the industry and making a name for herself outside of the playboy franchise.
but the biggest change that her new found fame bought her was becoming best friends with alexandra sinclair. the two were attached at the hip, known for causing trouble and were practically a hurricane spiraling through town.
more often than not, they had friends and those around them saying that the two of them needed a talk show to talk about all of the chaos they managed to get into together, and they took that idea and ran with it.
both big fans of female empowerment and women wearing the pants, they named their podcast 'call her daddy' as a way to take the power back from men that the two felt that they've held way too long in this world.
what started off as a podcast for them to document their lives, shit talk the men they got themselves involved with (using not so secret nicknames, of course) and giving relationship advice to their listeners who called in has turned into a phenomenon, where celebrities are lining up to be that week's guest to give the listeners and their fans a more intimate and real view on them, a vast difference to the personas they portray out in the world and the masks they wear.
the two made an insane amount of money off of the podcast and genevieve decided to think like a man and turn that money into more money to build her empire, which inspired her to open her own luxury hotel chain - 'the empire.'
with it's first location having had opened this spring in new york, the empire is now set to open in los angeles, london, paris, milan, miami, boston, and more major cities across the world.
she's determined to prove to the world that she's not just another pretty face and that she could be just as successful and savvy as any man and hopes to empower women all over the world with that.

American Matt Quigley answers Australian land baron Elliott Marston’s ad for a sharpshooter to kill the dingoes on his property. But when Quigley finds out that Marston’s real target is the aborigines, Quigley hits the road. Now, even American expatriate Crazy Cora can’t keep Quigley safe in his cat-and-mouse game with the homicidal Marston. Credits: TheMovieDb. Quigley Down Under is directed by Simon Wincer and written by John Hill. It stars Tom Selleck, Laura San Giacomo and Alan Rickman. Music is by Basil Poledouris and cinematography by David Eggby. Plot sees Selleck as Matthew Quigley, a Wyoming cowboy and sharp shooting rifleman who answers an advertisement to go to Western Australia as a hired sharp shooter. If proving his worth, he’s to work for Elliot Marston (Rickman), but when Marston outlines his sick reasons for hiring Quigley, the pair quickly become on a collision course that can only see one of them survive. It was written in the 1970s by John Hill, where it was hoped that Steve McQueen would take on the lead role, but with McQueen falling ill and Clint Eastwood allegedly passed over, the project sat on ice until 1990. In came Selleck and the film finally got made. Just about making back its money at the box office, Wincer’s movie deserved far better than that. It’s competition in the Western stakes in 1990 were Costner’s beautiful and elegiac Dances With Wolves and the Brat Pack bravado of Young Guns II, both vastly different films from each other, and both considerably different from Quigley Down Under. If those two films contributed to the average response to the Selleck picture? I’m not completely sure, but viewing it now one tends to think that the 1990 audience just wasn’t ready for such a delightfully old fashioned Oater, one that features a straight and simple narrative to tell its tale. It’s safe to say that anyone after deep psychological aspects will not get that here. There’s some serious themes in the story, such as the horrid genocide towards Aborigines, while the deft kicks at the British are fair enough even to a British guy such as myself. But in the main this is old time Western fare, ...

What is your favourite " widower finds love again" novels?
ooh ok I have a loooot of those:
Wicked Again by Kathleen Ayers: Haddon is a widower and Marissa a widow thrice-over (#1 and #3 were most likely murdered by her dad for mistreating her, and #2 was murdered by the family she's trying to take down in this book), and they hook up during a house party, but she's very intent on leaving it as a fling while he wants more. She's 49 and he's 40, I believe.
A Recipe for a Rogue by Kathleen Ayers: Hero is a twice-widowed, silver fox who likes to cook, and he slowly seduces the heroine by recipe by recipe from a rare cooking book. The heroine is plus sized and the hero is allllll about that.
The Duke Who Knew Too Much by Grace Callaway: First wife drowned on a boat with their son, and there was some(?) suspicion that the hero caused this to happen but tbh that's kinda overshadowed when the heroine accuses him of murdering his lover... which is how they meet.
Olivia and the Masked Duke by Grace Callaway: First wife was an cheater and an opium addict who also got the hero into it. After she died, the hero went into rehab and got himself clean and became dedicated to fighting drug on the streets, and the heroine was a (much younger) friend during the entire time as she developed a crush on him.
Fiona and the Enigmatic Earl by Grace Callaway: Hawk isn't looking to marry again but agrees to Fiona's proposed marriage of convenience and both of them intend on keeping their secret spy/investigator identities hidden.
What I Did For a Duke by Julie Anne Long: This one's actually really poignant because the hero has so much genuine grief over his first wife passing, but it's a quiet grief that he hides under this snarky, tormentor-ish facade.
Rules for a Proper Governess by Jennifer Ashley: Another hero who has a lot of grief for his wife passing to the point where he's juuuuust reconciling himself to the idea of moving on and possibly marrying someone else when he meets the pickpocket heroine who becomes his children's governess.
When the Duke Was Wicked by Lorraine Heath: Lovingdon is very intent upon not remarrying because he considers his first wife the love of his life and doesn't think there will be anyone else like that, but he slowly starts to fall for his younger family friend Grace, who asks him to help with her suitors.
Duke of Pleasure by Elizabeth Hoyt: Another widower with kids, Hugh is rescued on the streets by Alf, who's pretending to be a boy who's pretending to be The Ghost of St. Giles, and they work together to take down the villains of this book while Hugh continues to believe Alf is a boy.
The Viper by Monica McCarty: There's no love lost between Lachlan MacRuairi and his traitor dead wife, but it takes a while for him and Bella MacDuff to warm up to each other, especially after his prior failed rescue of her. Bella is also actually married for a portion of the book but we don't count her bitchass first husband for much.
In Which Matilda Halifax Learns the Value of Restraint Alexandra Vasti: Everyone thinks Ashford murdered his first wife but he didn't, not that it stops Matilda from being super attracted to him and coming to his remote home to give his sister art lessons.
The Rakess by Scarlett Peckham: The hero is a widower with kids, while the heroine is a free-spirited, sexually open type.
Earl of Every Sin by Scarlett Scott: Alessandro's first wife died during the Peninsular War and refuses to love again, and also refuses to kiss Catriona because "kissing is for his first wife only".
Accidentally Compromising the Duke by Stacy Reid: This man's so traumatized by his first wife dying of childbirth he's like, fingering the heroine to ensure "he did NOT release inside [her]" (which.... insane; basically a reverse breeding kink lolol) and refuses to see her once he finds out she's pregnant.
The Ivy Leavold books by Sierra Simone: Look Sierra herself said this is basically Jane Eyre That Fucks, and Mr. Markham here was married twice and both times the women died under mysterious circumstances. He meets Ivy, who was his late second wife's cousin, when she comes to live with him at his estate.
Contemporary Romance:
Hunted by Adriana Anders: The hero is still grieving his first wife's death and the kink camp they started together reminds him too much of her for him to venture down, until someone answers his ad looking for someone he can do primal play with.
New Camelot trilogy by Sierra Simone: I forgot Ash (King Arthur) was married then widowed between the first time he met Greer (Guinevere) and when they actually get together.
Mickey Chambers Shakes It Up by Charish Reid: Hero is still grieving his first wife, whose bar he takes over, and he also signs up to finish his degree like she would have wanted, which is how he meets the heroine. She's his professor, and she gets hired at his bar without realizing he's her boss.
The Secret She Kept in Bollywood by Tara Pammi: The hero's first wife was a Bollywood actress, and they unknowingly adopted the heroine's biological child that she gave up at birth. Fast forward a decade and a half later, Simon's daughter is about to make her acting debut, and Simon and Anya hook up without realizing who the other person is. ale
Mafia Mistress, Mafia Darling, and Mafia Madman by Mila Finelli: Fausto and Enzo are both widowers but they married their first wives out of duty so them falling for Frankie and Gia is really the first time they're falling in love.

CONCERT REVIEW: ALLIE X W/ EMILY ROWED AT THE BILTMORE CABARET - AUGUST 26TH, 2017
The Biltmore is the perfect small venue. Ample dance space, a stage with no barrier, and killer sound make for one memorable and excellent show indeed – and last Saturday’s femme-powered extravaganza was one more reminder of such.
At the beginning of the show, the audience was told to clear a path/space in the middle of the dance floor. We soon found out this was to make way for the fabulous diva and drag queen Eva Scarlett. Dressed to the nines, Eva performed a bopping dance routine to a medley of several modern hits from the likes of Ariana Grande and Selena Gomez. It’s not often one warms up with a drag show – especially at a musical event; Eva’s high-energy performance made for a great start to the evening.
The opener was Vancouver’s own Emily Rowed. Emily’s stage presence is simple and comforting, yet also very memorable and engaging. With only a mic and a guy backing her on a soundboard, Emily still delivered a great mixture of music. She explores genres of folk and indie pop with a little bit of country and electronica thrown in; the diversity in her music was impressive and added a lot to her live set. Her songs are inspirational, powerful, and even melancholy at times, yet each one is delivered with near perfection.
She shared personal stories from the songwriting process, ranging from heartbreak to the serious ordeal of mental illness experienced by a family member. This was my first time seeing Emily, and I’m really looking forward to seeing/hearing her work around the city in the near future. She was also incredibly, genuinely thrilled to be opening that night, and seemed almost overwhelmed with the positive reception. Rowed deserved every single bit of it, and she is a rising star in our area. I’ve also got to give kudos to her absolutely beautiful voice.
Allie X doesn’t just sing on stage, but truly performs 100% on each one of her live tracks. Her simple but ravishing outfit and trademark sunglasses (which we even saw removed briefly towards the end!) meant all eyes were on her glow as she paraded across the entire stage, for every single track. The stage visuals were also beautiful, featuring glowing lights and psychedelic projections. Even the lighting was perfectly choreographed for the sequence. When seeing Allie live, you’re completely sucked into the emotion and energy around you. She commands attention like few other artists I’ve seen.
Emily Rowed referred to Allie as “the Lady Gage of Canada,” and she wasn’t wrong. Her performance was rock solid and deeply energizing. Literally every single song performed had the entire audience dancing, emotional, and singing along. The Biltmore’s stage setup allowed for an intimate experience, letting Allie sing directly to/along with fans at many points. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a show of this size with such an intensely excited audience before, which I think helped everyone around enjoy the show even more. It was an extremely fun and rewarding show, and I hope to see Allie X back in Vancouver very soon.
