Here's your daily reminder to click for Palestine!!!
U.S. residents, take 5 minutes and use this link to pressure your members of Congress to stop sending weapons to the Israeli military!!
(Letter variants you can copy/paste under the cut!!)
Original letter written by Jewish Voice for Peace:
I am writing as your constituent to ask that you do everything in your power to press the Biden administration to suspend all weapons shipments to the Israeli military, and oppose all future military funding to Israel. The Israeli government has vowed to push forward with a large-scale military operation in Rafah, even though President Biden has repeatedly said such an operation would be a "red line." On May 7, the Israeli military seized the Rafah border crossing, a crucial passage for humanitarian aid, and ordered 100,000 Palestinians in eastern Rafah to evacuate. The 1.3 million displaced Palestinians sheltering in Rafah will have nowhere to flee should a full invasion commence. Millions of Palestinian lives now hang in the balance. I urge you to do everything in your power to stop this unfolding catastrophe before it's too late. Thank you.
Slight variations I created (so that emails don't get marked as spam for being identical to each other)
Variation 1:
I'm writing to you as your constituent to ask you to do everything you can to pressure the Biden administration into suspending all weapons shipments to the Israeli military and opposing any and all future military funding to Israel! The Israeli government is pushing forward with a large-scale military operation in Rafah. President Biden has repeatedly said such an operation would be a "red line," yet his administration is still supporting this operation. On May 7th 2024, the Israeli military seized the Rafah border crossing, a crucial passage for humanitarian aid, and forced 100,000 Palestinians in eastern Rafah to abandon their homes. 1.3 million Palestinians have been displaced. Those sheltering in Rafah have nowhere to flee during a full invasion. Millions of Palestinian lives now hang in the balance. Their fate lies in the hands on Congress, in your hands. I urge you to do everything in your power to stop this unfolding catastrophe before it's too late. Thank you.
Variation 2:
I'm writing you today to ask that you do everything in your power to convince the Biden administration to stop funding Israel. We have to telk them to stop all shipments of weapons to the Israeli military and oppose all future military funding to Israel. The Israeli government has vowed to push forward with a large-scale military operation in Rafah... President Biden made it clear that such an operation would be a "red line," and yet he continues to fund them. On May 7th of this year, the Israeli military seized the Rafah border crossing, a crucial passage for humanitarian aid, and forced 100,000 Palestinians to flee their own home of Eastern Rafah. Should a full invasion commence, 1.3 million displaced Palestinians sheltering in Rafah will have nowhere safe to go. Millions of Palestinian lives now hang in the balance. I am begging you now, as your constituent, to do everything in your power to stop this unfolding catastrophe before it's too late... Thank you

note that the ADL's tweet was sent minutes after musk made he sieg heil gesture
which is not enough for an organisation like that to talk about it and decide a response, especially not a dissuading one
which means that "we will defend the trump administration at all costs, no matter what they do, even at the most blatant nazism" was already agreed upon policy
anyone who takes the ADL as an adjudicator of antisemitism after this is lying to themselves

I am too tired to cover all the protests against mass deportantion, USAID dissolution, Treasury Invasion, etc., but you can find them all over the country and the world.
This was today, but I'm putting it hear because it gives some scope.

Look, I know the genocide on the Palestinians is fucking awful. Innocent people are dying and suffering, and Biden certainly hasn't helped with that in the slightest
But, U.s citizens of voting age need to understand that we need to fix this country first before we can focus our efforts on other countries.
If you don't vote, it's a vote for trump. If you vote third party, it's a vote for trump. Trump will make Palestinian's lives worse.
Harris has called for a ceasefire. She's the best we can get, and honestly she's leagues better than Biden ever was.
She supports woman's rights and reproductive care. She supports LGBTQ+ and trans rights. She wants to unite this country, and she can't do that without a vote.
I may not be old enough to vote, but as a trans minor, this election is more important than ever.
Please, I beg, go out and vote for Harris this year. Vote like your life depends on it because for some of us, it does.

The privatization of American leisure is one part of a much bigger story. Americans are spending less time with other people than in any other period for which we have trustworthy data, going back to 1965.
[...]
Self-imposed solitude might just be the most important social fact of the 21st century in America. Perhaps unsurprisingly, many observers have reduced this phenomenon to the topic of loneliness. In 2023, Vivek Murthy, Joe Biden’s surgeon general, published an 81-page warning about America’s “epidemic of loneliness,” claiming that its negative health effects were on par with those of tobacco use and obesity. A growing number of public-health officials seem to regard loneliness as the developed world’s next critical public-health issue. The United Kingdom now has a minister for loneliness. So does Japan.
But solitude and loneliness are not one and the same. “It is actually a very healthy emotional response to feel some loneliness,” the NYU sociologist Eric Klinenberg told me. “That cue is the thing that pushes you off the couch and into face-to-face interaction.” The real problem here, the nature of America’s social crisis, is that most Americans don’t seem to be reacting to the biological cue to spend more time with other people. [...]
Although young people are lonelier than they once were, there is little evidence that loneliness is rising more broadly today. A 2023 Gallup survey found that the share of Americans who said they experienced loneliness “a lot of the day yesterday” declined by roughly one-third from 2021 to 2023, even as alone time, by Atalay’s calculation, rose slightly.

Any international spells being put out against Trump or the U.S gov?
Any I can partake in? Or should I start cooking on one so we can all benefit?

"Nearly four years after he left office amid a violent burst, Donald Trump has been reelected and will become the next president of the United States. For many marginalized people, a second Trump administration, which begins in January, is a looming threat. During Trump's first stint in office, we watched as he rolled back LGBTQ+ protections, put Supreme Court justices in place who removed the federal right to abortion (which has resulted in deaths), enacted a “Muslim ban” that resulted in Islamophobic violence, and much more.
During Trump's campaign for a second term, he promised similarly draconian measures. He plans to deport millions of people starting on his first day in office, end gender-affirming care for trans youth, deeply change federal oversight agencies like the FDA, and much more.
With the past and his promises for the future in mind, people are preparing for Trump's second term, attempting to guard themselves against a potential erosion of rights. Here's what people are doing, and steps you might consider taking if it feels helpful."
