Hi! Thank you for running this blog.

I'm sorry if this sounds dumb, but I'm from Europe and slightly struggling with converting units and mapping the information to what I know.

I keep coming across the statistic that in the best-case scenario, a person with albinism has a vision of 20/200 - that's a prescription of -2.5 or so, right? Can it be mostly mitigated with glasses or contact lenses? Or is the best-case scenario 20/200 vision with the best possible glasses/contact lenses?

Also, do coloured contact lenses help at all with light sensitivity in the eyes?

I recognise that there are other problems with visions related to albinism, like nystagmus. If this is not too much to ask, I'm also curious about nystagmus - is it a constant effect or does it get stronger with e.g. tiredness or focus or lack thereof?

You’re not being nosy at all! I honestly didn’t know countries outside the US didn’t use the 20/20 scale, learn something new every day, heh

But yes! The best case scenario without glasses is 20/200, which qualifies as legally blind. With glasses or contacts it can be improved (My corrected vision is 20/180) but it will never be perfect.

I’ve never actually worn coloured contacts—but I do use tinted ones which help block out some (not all, but some) UV rays and actually block out blue light too!

As for nystagmus, it never really goes away. Glasses and contacts (contacts more so) can help with nystagmus, but it never goes away. And you’re right—tiredness, sickness, eye strain and sudden changes in bright lights can cause it to speed up, but it never goes away. Nystagmus doesn’t affect the vision though, contrary to popular belief. I don’t notice my eyes moving faster or even at all because it doesn’t really affect the way I see. All nystagmus is is the weakness of a muscle in the eye which causes it to bounce around a bit ^.^ Another thing that can occur is double vision, which I have. With glasses and contacts it can be corrected, though without it, I see double.

i have this headcanon where during pre-canon and canon, fugo strictly limits himself to classical music. classical piano is organized and strict. he's taught how to read notes from a page and follow each of them in order, one by one. when something as slight as hitting the wrong chord can lead to the entire performance getting thrown off and piano keys getting struck senselessly with angry fingers. everything spiraling to a jumble of nonsensical noise and frustration. does anything sound familiar? however, i like to think that he started developing an interest in jazz post phf as some part of purple haze distortion. because, unlike classical music, jazz is free and is built entirely on improvised mistakes. hitting the wrong note doesn't matter anymore because it could lead to something else, something that sounds better. something that sounds happier. and it's his way of unlearning the flawed ways he was taught as a child.

Girlies... 2 rats isn't really recommended and soon I may have to get lil babies (preferably my winter break which is soon).

And I do know abt a few good rat breeders in my area. My question is, what variants in terms of fur and ears (I legit CAN'T decide...). I know one I want to be like Bezi so fuzz? Mostly bc I miss the texture of her skin and my mom cries about her a lot almost daily. But the other one idk. Dumbo? Rex? Harley (if there's any around here...)??? I will use that suggestion to pick the breeder, not the individual animals. Bc for that I will use intuition as I always have. Will ask my friends for opinions too ig.

Walks with Aziraphale were always so amusing, especially when he took one of his different forms. Tonight, Crowley took note of a few different reactions:

1. Much to his bemusement, quite a few people crossed the road entirely just to avoid him (he didn't know why, he thought this particular form was very charming).

2. Those who didn't avoid them either didn't notice at all, or cooed adoringly at his companion. A few snake enthusiasts tried their best to impart advice upon him (Yes, he was aware it was a chilly night to have a python outside. Yes, he was aware that he had a few extra rolls on him, and he would appreciate it if they didn't body shame him, please and thank you).

3. He had a particularly interesting encounter with a stranger who tried his best to buy Aziraphale from him (he didn't know whether to laugh or be offended on his companion's behalf when the person subsequently dropped their price offering upon learning he was male. He turned them down, of course).

This just in: local vampire hunter tries his hardest to look cool in front of his crush.

I said soon and I guess I meant now haha.

I could help but draw Crowley and Aziraphale from @mrghostrat 's new Vampire AU (thanks for the permission btw!!) and I'll be damned if I couldn't pass up the opportunity to draw Ball Python Azi after being deeply entrenched in Ball python morphs and drawing them for the past few years.

I'm also a big sucker (har har) for any kind of vampire au, so I was incredibly excited to draw this!! I'm still not confident in my ability to draw Crowley (or jackets oof) but I tried.

On that, while I have ya'll here, a few fun facts about Ball Pythons and Morphs:

Azi looks to me to be based on a Blue Eyed Lucy (Leucistic) ball python. Leucistic is different from Albino - both lack pigment, but Leucistics only lack pigments in parts, rather than entirely like with Albinism. The fastest way to tell the difference is the eye color.

Blue Eyed Lucies have eye colors that range from Black to Blue - blue obviously being the more popular eye color.

The whiter the snake, the more sought after it is (not all Lucies are pure white, depends on the morph combo)

Unlike a majority of ball python morphs, Blue Eyed Lucies don't have a distinct gene combo that defines them. Generally, their morphs included Mocha, Mojave, Lesser, Butter, etc. The combos are generally endless. A Super Mojave (Mojave bred to Mojave) will produce a fairly grey/white snake, but their heads tend to be a very dusty grey, and isn't an ideal combo for a Lucy.

A snake that seems incredibly white when hatched may change color as it ages and become less white. This is common for all morphs, and their patterns define themselves and get stronger with age.

In breeding, males are generally less desired than females, and run at a lower price generally. This is because a single male can breed multiple females, so it's less effective to have more males in a clutch than females.

Obesity in snakes IS a real thing, and generally hard to manage if you do have an obese snake. Snakes tend to retain weight well, so exercise is really the only method to help bring their weight down (plus smaller meals). Good luck if you have an obese snake that isn't particularly inclined to be active.

Ball Pythons generally tend to have what's called a 1,000 gram wall - in which a snake that hits 1k grams stops eating and will not gain more weight. No one is 100% sure why this phenomena happens, but it's incredibly common.

Not a fact but opinion: Paradox ball Pythons are my favorite morph. If you want to see some incredibly interesting genetics, look them up.

you’ve known satoru since your highschool days. although that was years ago, the bond that you both share is an irreplaceable and unbreakable one.

many things have changed after all those years; your hair, his hair, your style, his style.

yet many things have also stayed the same. for example, the memories you both shared and the feelings you both harboured for each other. and if there’s one thing that definitely stayed the same and never made an effort to change was..

satoru’s constant need for attention.

“come onnnnn,” your white haired companion pouts, dragging his words exhaustedly. “when was the last time we were ever sent on a mission together? don’t you w’na enjoy this limited time you have with me?”

you sigh, trying to shake off his arms off of your arm as he clings onto you like a koala. “get off of me, i can’t concentrate like this!” you try to pry his arms off, even though you’re not completely against the feeling of his skin on yours. (you have to remain professional though)

he shakes his head, “no thanks- and why would you need to concentrate on anything other than yours truly?” he lifts his chin up with a proud expression.

“because yours truly has an insufferable face!” you quip, shoving his face away lightly. he huffs before moving his head to rest on your shoulder.

“aww, you love this face though.”

you scoff before retorting, “do i? i’d love a curses’ face more than yours!” you gently shove his face away from yours to create distance, hoping he doesn’t see the small smile on your lips.

spoiler alert: he definitely does.

suguru geto is many things — a strong and talented sorcerer, a handsome young man, the best friend of satoru gojo, etcetera.

but suguru geto to you is more than that, more than a weapon. to you, suguru is like rain. he’s the calm and soft patters on your window, the rhythmic patterns of droplets that tap gently on the ground and he’s the soothing sensation that washed away all your negativity.

but like rain, it’s always shooed away by the sun. thankfully, the cloud is always there to provide a space for the rain to do its thing.

suguru geto doesn’t like to be seen vulnerable, that’s one thing you know for certain. he has to be the strongest with satoru, he has to be the voice of reason.

but with you, things are different. he doesn’t have to always be the strongest with you. he doesn’t have to always be the voice of reason. with you, he’s just suguru. he’s free to let his true emotions be seen.

so when days like this are particularly taking more of a toll on him, he knows you’ll be there to help him. because that’s the thing with you, you’re always there.

you’re there to hold his head close to your chest and intertwine your fingers together in a tight lock. you’ll wipe his teary eyes with a tender, featherlight touch.

“it’s going to be okay, i’m here. i’m always here,” you whisper softly, carding your fingers through his messy hair.

the hair that once was always neatly tied back was now messy in your grasp, just like he was. with you, he doesn’t need to tie his hair back, he can just let it flow as it wants to.

go on late walks and talks with him

if there’s one thing anyone agrees on when it comes to kento, it’s that he’s a professional guy. he’s formal, stoic and has a seemingly unbreakable poker face.

he’s strict and follows a very tight schedule with no room for error or distractions.

actually, scratch that. he has room for one distraction.

kento knows he should be in bed, sleeping to regain energy he’s been drained of (thanks to a certain albino) and recharge for the next day. so why is he so easily giving into one of your bright ideas?

said bright idea is going out for a walk at 2:30 am.

he’s aware of the consequences this little act might cause to his unforgiving schedule because running on two and a half hours of sleep while exorcising curses isn’t something people would enjoy.

he says its risky and a waste of time but something he wont admit is how he absolutely loves times like this. times where you both can let loose about the struggles of being a sorcerer and just take a breath of fresh air.

he loves how carefree and optimistic you can be while he’s sluggishly trailing after you, his wrist in your grip while you drag him to the exact same place at the exact same time you both go to every week.

then you chat his ear off about the next mission yaga plans to send you on and quickly switch topics about this new yoga and pilates class you’re interested in. he, in turn, listens and sometimes chimes in to add a snarky and backhanded comment on something to make you laugh.

and thus, the cycle repeats. but unlike his repeating routine, kento actually enjoys this cycle.

he wont and probably will never admit it until he deems it not as embarrassing anymore but he enjoys these times you both share.

“ken? heeeeyyy, are you even listening?” you drag out some of the words before reaching over to poke his cheek. he swats your hand away and you chuckle.

he grunts, adjusting his position so he’s slightly closer to you. “i was, i think i just spaced out a bit, don’t mind it. what were you saying about some upside down dog croissants?”

the corners of his mouth twitches upwards when you roll your eyes and groan. “it’s called the downward dog and i said i found out about it while eating croissants at that one bakery you told me about!”

yea, maybe this wasn’t such a distraction after all. he’s sure he can squeeze in some time for times like this in his schedule, totally not because he enjoys it or anything.
