Got inspired and wrote a little something for @wolfstarmicrofic! CW: (mild) internalized acephobia

Remus is panicking, just a bit. 

Maybe more than a bit.

He’s been dating Sirius for eight months, a relationship record for Remus. Embarrassingly long-held feelings for Sirius aside, Remus has never met anyone who was okay with the lack of kissing and sex that dating him entailed. Sirius has been nothing but accepting and even loving; he says he’s fine with not having sex, not kissing on the mouth, even with Remus not sleeping in the same bed some nights.

But Remus can’t stop thinking about New Year’s traditions, and expectations.

The whole kissing thing is just…gross. He can’t. He won’t. And a corner of his brain is adamant that Sirius wouldn’t want him to if he didn’t want to anyways.

11:56pm

James and Sirius rush in from the kitchen, balancing glasses of champagne. James joins Lily and Peter on the floor while Sirius nestles into Remus’s side on the couch, nudging their glasses into his hands. He wraps Remus up in his warm, strong arms and Remus relaxes, feeling the anxiety brewing in his chest lose a bit of its fizz.

“Hi, my Moony. What’s going on in that silly head of yours?”

Remus sighs. “I just, just—you know I can’t kiss you at midnight right? I can’t, it’s…icky and it makes me feel bad and it’s not fair for you to miss out because of me, you’re supposed to kiss the person you want to spend the year with and I can’t—”

Sirius squeezes him tighter, rocks him just a little. “Shh, baby. It’s okay.” His mouth is right by Remus’s ear, voice hardly above a whisper. “You’re being silly. I don’t need a kiss, I just need the year with you.”

Remus tips his head back to look at Sirius. “Promise?”

Sirius smiles at him fondly. “Promise.”

11:59pm

“Guys! It’s 11:59!” shouts Lily. Everyone leaps up and piles onto the couch, Sirius squishing even closer to Remus to make room for all five of them. Lily ends up on James’s lap.

When the countdown begins, they scream along, and when the clock turns to midnight they all cheer. Sirius leans in and presses his cheek against Remus’s with a satisfied sigh. “Happy New Year, Moons.”

Warmth creeps into his cheeks, and Remus is sure Sirius can feel it. They stay there until Remus has gathered the courage to turn to his boyfriend and gently kiss the top of his head. “Happy New Year, Pads.” Sirius looks up at him with a sleepy smile on his face, and Remus smiles back.

Merry Christmas!

I don't actually know what I'm doing, but as a Christmas present to anybody who wants it, here's some Christmas fluff. Very PG.

It's almost midnight.... two minutes and forty seconds 'til, actually, if you happened to be at the Potter's House and happen upon one James Potter, who was holding a comically large pocket watch about two inches from his nose. Regulus was going cross-eyed just looking at him try to stare down that silly ticking piece of brass (why would you use that when you could just look at the planets? Fucking stupid.) Although. To be fair. The hair sticking in every direction wasn't helping matters.

"It doesn't count, you know," whispered Regulus into the lowlight. James looked up, moving his head in that clumsy, half-asleep way.

"Mmmm?"

"You were sleeping on my lap for two hours, Jamie. You didn't stay up till midnight."

"Reg!" James put on his classic affronted face, but he was so dazed that he just looked sort of confused. "I'm offended!"

"Go go to bed, Prongs!" shouted Sirius across the room, not looking up from the man sleeping in his lap, sprawled out across the couch in a mess of gangly legs and curly hair.

"No!" James sounded like a child; he even jutted his lip out. "I'm staying awake!"

"You've just been halfway around the world, Jam," began Lily, looking up from the game of cards she was playing with Mary , Peter, and Pandora on the big armchair by the window. "Your brain literally thinks it's four in the morning right now. There's no shame in it."

"Two minutes!" croaked James. Then he yawned, mouth open so wide that Regulus felt Barty's attention turn to his teeth.

"No." Got to nip that in the bud.

"Aw, Reggie. They're just so beautiful!" Barty's head lolled over the side of the couch, where his partner Evan was lying spooned by his side reading a ridiculously heavy book.

"James wants his teeth to stay in his mouth. Don't you, Jamie?"

"Uh-huh." James eyes seemed to be drooping. "I like my teeth."

"Bet Reg likes his teeth, too," snickered Sirius. On his lap, Remus stirred and muttered something that sounded like stop making sex jokes about your brother and James. Which was useless, anyway.

"One minute now," hissed Marlene, swooping across the room and drooping herself over James' shoulder. Her Queen t-shirt was covered in lipstick kisses. "Should we do a countdown?"

"Come back here," came the response from a disgruntled Dorcas sitting on yet another armchair. The low lamplight shone bright shadows on her face. "I'm cold."

"Don't leave her now, Marls. Not after all this," laughed Lily, tossing one red ponytail over her shoulder.

"Same goes for you." Mary poked her best friend in the side. Lily did another one of her signature laughs, and grabbed Mary's hand in hers. She smiled. Regulus only knew one person who could light up a room with just a grin-- his Jamie, of course-- but Lily was pretty close. At least lit up the corner.

"Fifteen, fourteen," came the muffled countdown from Remus. "You have to kiss me when it's Christmas, Pads."

"Kiss you? Scandal," came Sirius' reply, a grin spreading uncontrollably across his face. "I'll get ready."

"Thirteen, twelve, eleven, ten, nine," counted Barty, much faster than nessecary. Slow down, came Evan's squashed response.

"Eight, seven, six," counted Marlene and Dorcas in unison, Dorcas's head on top of Marlene's, fingers wrapped together like a braid.

"Five, four, three, two," chirped Pandora and Peter, dropping their cards, faces alight with excitement.

"One," whispered Regulus. He couldn't help but smile. Then--

"James? James?"

James had passed out cold. Regulus laughed and pressed a kiss to his forehead-- he could hear about the Christmas kiss in the morning.

Date of Birth - 3rd November 1959

House - Gryffindor

Academic Achievements - Beater on the Quidditch Team

He spent 12 years wrongfully imprisoned in Azkaban before being killed by his own cousin

Cannon

Older brother to Regulus Black

Cousin to Bellatrix, Andromeda and Narcissa Black

He was tall

Did not have a close relationship with his family

Is the only member of the Black family to be sorted into Gryffindor

Although he later considered himself an "idiot" during his time at school, Sirius, along with James, were immensely popular. Teachers respected his intelligence (though not his behaviour) and girls adored his dark handsome looks

He put up permanent sticking charms off Gryffindor banners, as well as pictures of Muggle girls in bikinis and motorcycles and pictures of him and his Gryffindor friends on the walls of his room to emphasise his difference from his family and annoy his parents

Sirius and James once used an illegal hex on a boy named Bertram Aubrey that caused his head to grow twice it's original size

At the age of sixteen, Sirius finallt broke away from his Pure blood family and took refuge with James and his parents

Sometime in 1979 Sirius' father and brother both died

Sirius never found out the true reason why Regulus died but he suspected that it was because he got cold feet after becoming a Death Eater

He was the best man at James and Lilys wedding and was the godfather to their only son

He was wrongfully imprisoned in 1981

By 1985 Sirius' mother died, leaving the Black house elf Kreacher alone in the house

He escaped Azkaban in 1993 and his escape was on Muggle and Wizarding news

He was killed by his cousin during the Battle of the Department of Mysteries

His name was cleared after his death

Started dating Remus Lupin during their fifth year

He had multiple tattoos, his favourites was one of the moon cycle and one of his arm that read "let it be" in his own handwriting. He got it after Lily Evans introduced him to the Beatles song of the same name

Whenever girls asked him out he felt bad about letting them down and didn't want to tell them the real reason why (because he's gay) so he would lie and tell them that James was interested in them and that he couldn't dishonour the bro code. Sirius immediately regretted his actions when those girls would then all go and hover around James so he changed his plan and started telling them that Frank was the one interested in them (not taking into account that Frank had a girlfriend)

He was a music snob. For parties he decided what music was played and only him

Along with his housemates he was also friends with Frank Longbottom, Alice Fortescue, Marlene McKinnon, Dahlia Fleur-Peri and Camelia Solis but not really anyone else

Before he left his family he was originally promised to Juliette Wilkes. Despite him being a Gryffindor Juliette still held onto hope that Sirius would rejoin his family. She was the girl who was "eyeing him hopefully" during the OWL exam

He hardly swore. Swearing was always frowned upon in his family and even after being disowned and running away he never found the point in it. His pet peeve was people who swore just because they could

The reason why Sirius and James hexed Bertram Aubrey was because of Dahlia and Camelia. Camelia and Bertram used to date but during the summer of 1975 Bertram cheated. When Dahlia (Camelias best friend who was also in love with her) found out about this she asked James and Sirius to prank Bertram to get revenge. James and Sirius never liked Bertram anyway and they got a large sum of muggle money and a years worth of alibi's for it

The reason why Sirius had short hair in the OOTP photo was because during the war he lost a bet to Frank and had to cut it short as punishment
