actually im curious. for people who make playlists what is their preferred method and also like. what they're making playlists for. i think my playlists r divided into abt 5 categories:

1: playlists that compile work of an artist or smthing like it. ofc u can simply go to an artist you follow and click liked songs but 1) this includes all liked albums even if not all of the individual songs in that album is liked iirc, and 2) sometimes bands have like. members that do solo work and so the song isnt listed under the band name but i personally wanna compile it in the playlist. there's also people like gigaP who i have a playlist for, because he's not listed as an artist for a lot of songs he does production on, and i wanna compile that. and then also theres stuff like. compiling all of the sonic music i like.

2: organizer playlists. stuff like. i like to separate my songs by language just because. and for japanese-language music i break that down into 1) these are openings 2) this is music from a gacha game 3) this is vocaloid music 4) all the stuff that is none of the above. if i want everything i shuffle the folder (tho spotify mobile doesnt seem to have that ability...) or things like, here is a playlist with all of the classical music i listen to. one with all the video game ost. one with all the anime ost. etc. 3: themed playlists. this feels pretty standard, its just like. this playlist has songs that represent a season, this one has gender fuckery, this one is sorta vibey and chill, etc.

4: fandom / story playlists: this is the one i'm interested in!! i think this has a variety of how it works--saw a poll about whether character playlists are made thinking about what music the character would canonically be into, and that blew my mind bc i'd absolutely never thought about that. but i've also never made a character playlist (yet) bc my fandom playlists are like... "story" playlists? so some are just like. fic playlists that compile songs i think fit with the story lyrically and/or vibe-wise, and some are like, here's a playlist abt a relationship i like, and the songs are ordered to show like the chronology of the actual media and each couple of songs represent a different arc / time period etc. i'm not always that detailed, so I've got some that don't necessarily follow a chronology, but with these I tend to build them by writing a google doc with the songs + one quote of a lyric that i think fits, and then I tend to add extra notes on the rest of the song and how it fits with my ideas. why i do it i couldn't tell you because the documents are mostly for me lol. anyways that's all

well, as someone who’s been in fandoms for real people for like 15 years at this point, i feel pretty qualified to answer this lol. the music is of course a big factor, at least for me. i wouldn’t closely follow anyone if i didn’t love their art. but i do love them as people too.

in the case of kpop, the industry puts a big emphasis on fan interaction and fanservice, and as a result there’s a lot of content that revolves solely around getting to know the idols (variety shows, vlogs) and forming a parasocial bond with them (fancalls, direct messaging, public forums that idols can comment on). which of course can be a bad thing, and kpop fans can get uniquely extreme about it, but my personal philosophy is always to treat artists as human beings and not assume that i know everything, because i obviously don’t.

anyway, with stray kids specifically, i really admire that they’re one of the few self-produced kpop groups and they all seem to have a genuine passion for making music and performing. they have a strong familial bond; they’re all very unique, strong personalities, and yet they come together so beautifully to pursue a common goal. the common goal being making really fucking good music that spans multiple genres.

they’re extremely funny and it’s a riot watching them bounce off each other. they’re literally all weird and insane in the best ways possible. they’re not perfect, they’ve messed up, but i think they’ve demonstrated that they have good hearts and they genuinely care about others. they try their best to make everyone feel welcome in their space, and they have a deep love and appreciation for their fans. and yes, they are outstandingly beautiful and just looking at them is gratifying in and of itself lmao.

this month i've really been listening to CHECK by the girl group FLO and let me just say, that song is an absolute MASTERPIECE. the music video was amazing. i love love the cinematography and the concept cuz its super hyper girly just like me and the girls looked so amazing and beautiful.

blake is getting called out for how shes been acting during her press tour for it ends with us and her past actions and behaviors that rly showcase how tone deaf she is. the movie is based on the book it ends with us that was written by colleen hoover, and in the book it explores topics such as domestic violence, emotional abuse etc. because of the serious nature of the movie, her saying "grab ur friends, wear ur florals" was a tone mismatch.

a clip of her is going viral where she was asked by the interviewer on, what was the best way someone who understands the themes of the movie, could talk to her. and she responds with literal sarcasm. leaving everyone confused and kind of put off. furthermore during the filming for the movie about literal DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. she launches a haircare brand. which could just be unfortunate timing but i feel like with how good marketing is, this wasn't a coincidence but thats just my opinion.

the last thing i wanna talk about is an interview a while back when blake was pregnant. the interviewer congratulated her saying "congrats on ur little bump" which is so sweet. blake responds "congrats on YOUR little bump" which was SO uncalled for because one, the lady wasn't pregnant and two, the lady literally couldn't have kids. throughout the interview blake just continued to be absolutely obnoxious, ignoring the interviewers questions and just being such a horrible guest.

Earth also being the one to teach KC on how to be more present with the family. (Cause dude while he was about being family... he still didnt check in during a lot. Albiet he wanted to live how he wanted still-not even a letter) Sibling dynamics of older sibling just letting the younger Vibe but also making sure theres a firm word in if someone steps out of line. ok so i actually got two asks about my Beebo Thoughts pretty much instantly so here’s what i’m gonna do! this post is gonna be basically spoiler free and a very long bulleted ramble of all the game mechanics i liked, then in a couple days when i replay it i’ll post all the spoiler-y story stuff and details i liked in response to the other ask :]

so, this one is the glowing recommendation “i’m assuming you haven’t played it” spoiler free version! woe, ramble be upon ye

alright to set ur expectations. Detective Beebo is a 5 hour indie puzzle game that u can get for free. it’s fairly straightforward and pretty short and simple, but it is executed EXTREMELY well. also it felt very catered to me personally which will absoLUTELY color my ramble so like. take everything with a grain of salt knowing this is right up my alley and such

ok first off. incredible concept. time loop reset by death but you play as one of the ppl who can’t remember a thing? ough. 

THE ARTWORK IS SO GOOD. the characters have so much expression and life which is always impressive in that pixelated format and i really felt the Atmosphere in the cutscenes and such

the story had me hooked right from the start like i remembering being about ten minutes in and having that distinct “oh yeah i’m Sat i’m Ready i’m Invested” feeling

also. characters. Oliver and Ángel had my full attention right off the bat and the supporting cast was also super solid; Mari made me laugh out loud five minutes into her intro (and so did purple-haired lady; “Mad At Me Island” caught me off guard what can i say?) and the villain? oooooooo the menace the terror the brutality it was delicious. 

i was kinda expecting more of a walking simulator with some light puzzles thrown in with the focus being on the death loop gimmick but to my delight the puzzles were on par with the story and so fun to work thru! like the rest of the game they required some thought but were easy to grasp and didn’t overstay their welcome

and the HINT SYSTEM. i mentioned this in the original post but i am a puzzle game lover who is also stupid so hint systems are very important to me! making good hints are more difficult than one might expect but this one was executed splendidly. the notebook, which has ur items, profiles, and observations, worked great as a multilayer hint system without being hand-holdy or too obvious! plus the streamlined story takes u smoothly from one puzzle to the next so ur rarely confused about what ur trying to accomplish which i DEEPLY appreciate. 

due to the time loop shenanigans, u are exploring the same house multiple times over with different puzzles each loop. most of the same things are interactable every time, but the dialogue changes enough that ur incentivized to still click on everything every loop and then you don’t miss clues as easily!

on the story level the mystery was also very engaging; the reveal of what made the house tick (heh) got me so excited because the game gives the player space to figure it out before Beebo says anything aloud. the game is actually really good about this all round; making Beebo justttt smart enough that the player can use his conclusions as hints without him taking the satisfaction of figuring it all out from said player. 

i’ll talk about this more in my spoiler ramblings but there’s this one part where the search-and-find puzzle format gets weaponized in a meta way to make u feel as powerless as Beebo does and he has to literally change the game genre to escape and that is something i am a SUCKER for oh my gosh. 

i’ve only gotten one ending since i’ve only played through it once (the true ending, luckily) and it was both satisfying and adorable, wrapping up all the themes presented in a nice little bow :]

overall Beebo was the video game equivalent of like… a fancy little cupcake. it balances itself extremely well, staying bite-sized and sweet and overall is a delightful time :D

there's always this thing that we're becoming. Brilliantly written, genuinely gorgeous, in character, etc - it is smut though (top notch smut, though)

I'm pretty sure I enjoyed TntDuo Content I Don't Want To Attach My Username To too - also smut lmao

Agape - NOT smut, for once, but never finished lmao

There's also this fic I am completely not connected to ha ha it's called Losing Face and while it is unfinished I heard that the author is doing this like kinda rewrite kinda reimagining sort of thing where tldr it's the same concept just executed better ha haa👀👀👀

Another one is real life au - it's VERY heavy though. Like, I had to stop reading it at some point cause it was legitimately just hitting too hard. It is well written, and it's supposed to evoke those emotions, but just be VERY careful with it. VERY tldr is that it's about Schlatt - Q's abusive ex - becoming Wilbur's sugar daddy. It is VERY dead dove do not eat, and deals with SA and s-cidal ideation. The fic is called Sugar Lips, but I won't put the link here cause seriously, it's fucking heavy - and in a very realistic way, not the fantasy "eating someone's heart while they're alive" type of thing, but in a "this happens to real people in real life" type of way. Idk if you still want to read it dm me for the link but yeah, just please stay safe, guys

And then there's one work which I cannot find for the life of me - I don't know if it got deleted or something but if it wasn't, tntblr please help me find it It was about Wilbur coming to Quackity when his stitches break. Once the guy stitches him up, there's a whole scene when Wilbur has a breakdown and Quackity helps him through it. Then I believe it's kinda this sort of "montage" of how Wilbur and Q kinda grow closer, and (spoiler alert) it ends with some event during which Sapnap and Karl show up and there's arguing and at some point Wilbur and Sapnap start fighting (physically) and Wilbur ends up beating Sapnap to death. It was so well written, and it was one of the earliest fics i've read, and i haven't been able to find it for a long, long time now
