I’ve been writing YouTube scripts for three hours… I’ve gotten two done and edited.
Tumblr media
One of them is going to take a little longer because, apparently, the original script was 14 pages. Glad I decided to rewrite that particular script, but it’s going to take some time to reread what I have written and what I want to keep… and edit.

Humble Choice August 2023 Review: A Stellar month
I’m Kinglink and it’s August… So it’s time for Humble Choice August 2023 Review.  This is my birthday month and this bundle is a great present, it’s amazing, except for a minor thing I will talk about later.  I’ve covered half of these games previously, most on Game Pass, and played them all on stream for an hour, so I’m ready to dive deep into these games and tell you, how they play, what is…

Dungeon Meshi episode 21, being heavily dialogue-driven, was pretty straightforward animation-wise and let Ryoko Kui's stunning art speak for itself for the most part, but that doesn't mean that there aren't still some GENERALLY-INSIGNIFICANT-DETAILS-TO-SCRUTINIZE-AT-ARGUABLY-UNNECESSARY-LENGTH.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There was a strong emphasis on hands in this episode, particularly the second half, starting with this cut of Laios resting his on the Minotaur's snout.
The animators have taken this simple little panel (on the right) from the manga (btw, people who know more about this than I do, is there a name for this type of panel, which in film would be called an "insert shot"?)
Tumblr media
and turned it into this highly detailed tracking shot that heightens the emotional impact of this moment for Laios. It feels very similar to the shot of Kabru bringing a piece of fish to his mouth that introduced him to the series!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The theme comes up again when Laios does a little bit of blair-witching in the corner after being rejected by house-kitty-pilled Izutsumi,
Tumblr media
and once again a few seconds later with this added close-up of Marcille's hand when she tries to read the magical aura of the area.
Tumblr media
This one clearly makes heavy use of reference footage, to the point that it almost looks rotoscoped until you notice little details like this line that warps unrealistically at the heel of her palm.
Tumblr media
But with smooth, realistic motion like this, little details like that are much less important than the overall feeling of authentic shape and movement. This can be seen in a lot of Masaaki Yuasa's work, which often favors consistent motion and more frames over super polished individual drawings. Here's a thematically appropriate cut from Ping Pong for example:
(This one might actually be rotoscoped, I'm not sure)
Tumblr media
If you pause on any individual frame, the lines look wobbly and inconsistent, but it comes together as a whole to create something that feels authentic - real.
The heavy detail in the hand anatomy and the way the skin wrinkles around the knuckles in these cuts feels like a hard departure from Studio TRIGGER's signature heavy stylization, but these realistic cuts have popped up here and there since the start of this show, and I think they fit Dungeon Meshi really well! It can be jarring go straight from wacky bombastic cartoonsmanship to realism, but while it is a show about the hungriest hungriest himbo and his family of weirdos, it's also simultaneously a show about anatomy, ecology, and the horrors of the human mindbrain.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was expanded from an excerpt from this video where I break down the whole episode, so if you want to continue wallowing in the sludge with me, consider checking out the video!
Thanks for reading.

Welcome to the Holmwood Foundation
Tumblr media
Sanguis Vita Est
The Holmwood Foundation is a Found Footage Horror-Fiction Podcast created by Fio Trethewey @fiotrethewey (Big Finish: Gallifrey War Room, 18th Wall Productions) and Georgia Cook @georgiacooked (Big Finish: The Eleventh Doctor Chronicles, Gallifrey War Room, BBC Books, The Dracula Daily Sketch Collection). It is a modern day sequel to the gothic novel Dracula.
What is the Holmwood Foundation about?
Our story follows Jeremy Larkin (Played by Sean Carlsen) and Maddie Townsend (Played by Rebecca Root), two co-workers at the mysterious Holmwood Foundation, as they are possessed by the ghosts of Jonathan and Mina Harker, and embark on a road trip across the country in an effort to achieve their ghost's wishes: to stop Dracula once and for all. This is a story about identity and self discovery, family loyalty and devotion, all wrapped around a nightmare of a road trip with a rejuvenating severed head, incredibly sincere Victorian ghosts, and an analogue recorder. Hi, So I was kinda annoyed, that there is no easy way to get into the qsmp lore at the moment.
So a few days ago I made this video (there really isn't a good way to summarize everything in under 10 min, but I tried my best):
youtube
And here are some of the many (manymanymany) drawings I made for it:

𝙼𝚈 𝙻𝚄𝙲𝙸𝙳 𝙳𝚁𝙴𝙰𝙼𝙸𝙽𝙶 𝙹𝙾𝚄𝚁𝙽𝙴𝚈/𝙼𝙴𝚃𝙷𝙾𝙳

Hello It’s me, Methone again 🤟
I’ve been lucid dreaming, every single night for a week.
I’ve always wanted to achieve it, since i was idk 6
AND I’VE TRIED EVERY STUPID METHOD. I’ll tell you that
I know that those methods does work for some people but I am not one of them😔
And then a week ago, I thought “who the fuck will tell me what to do to achieve my goal”
Since we all know about the void state, shifting and lucid dreaming I’ll go straight to “THE METHOD”.
╰┈☆ THE METHOD ☆┈╯
1. I put on this banger👇 on my headphones and i lie down (i always do this when i feel that i’ll be tired soon or when i know i can make myself fall asleep pretty easily. BUT NOT TOO TIRED)
youtube
2. When I’m listening to this i affirm just the simplest and most beautiful “I am” (i listen to that for an hour at least) But sometimes my mind wonder and i think about some stupid things like “should i pee? or not?” for an hour and it still works for me.
3. When i take off my headphones and i hear in my ears that dubumdubum sound, i know that I’m ready.
4. Then i just lie on my bed in comfortable position to fall asleep and i repeat in my head “I am aware, I am aware”
5. Booom you are lucid dreaming
6. (extra tip) I visualise that I am already counting my fingers.
Thank you for reading this:) I hope my “method” (i hate this word) will work for you! I’m waiting for your stories in the comments.
I love you, beautiful people.

It's great that you said the tea blogger was one of your main sources in your dayd video but it might be helpful to actually link their blog in your video description. Just seems like a cleaner way to cite a source?
Just added a link to the description! Very aware I have to work on my habit of verbally mentioning sources and then just . . . forgetting to link them

This video is my baby,
Essentially, this video is a combination of my two true loves. And no, not Medic and Heavy lmao. Film is a passion of mine I rarely get to explore anymore with all of the TF2 videos I've been making. I studied acting in college, and I like to say that I dabble in screenwriting, couple that with my love for TF2 and you get this little monster. I even teared up at the end, I know it sounds super silly but this one really does mean a lot to me.
This took a lot of coordinated planning, and a lot of stuff to wade through, and thankfully, with a lot of help, it was accomplished. I love making breakdowns like this, they make me truly happy. So please, give it a watch and tell me what you think!
This month has been full of ups and downs but I'm excited to finally share this with you. Any like, comment, reblog, or repost, helps make the dream come true. If you've supported me thus far, thank you. 🫀

I think I’ve finally stopped cringing enough to share some of the stuff I worked on for my short film, “Heirloom” and this is the colour script!! :D
The colours carry a lot of the emotional weight in the film, pulling you through each stage of the story and making you feel every shift the characters experience!! This was especially crucial since there's no dialogue or narration to lean on... So let me yapp a bit about that—
The first act features vibrant yellows, greens, and oranges—warm, lively tones that signify peace and stability. This palette establishes a sense of calm and familiarity, but as the act progresses, darker hues begin to infiltrate the scene.
Tumblr media
In the latter part of the first act, the colour scheme shifts dramatically to dark, gritty reds and oranges. This transition introduces this tangible intensity, this foreboding feeling, highlighting a surge of anger and tension. The dominance of these reds signals a significant change in the narrative.
Tumblr media
The second act dives into violets and purples, evoking a sense of novelty and uncertainty. These colours effectively illustrate the protagonist’s struggle to find his footing in a world that has moved on without him.
Tumblr media
The third act is divided into two parts! Initially, deep blues dominate as the protagonist returns to a home that's long gone. These dark, sombre tones represent profound sadness and loss.
Tumblr media
The final part of the film transitions back to these bright, saturated yellows, concluding on a very hopeful note. This return to vibrant colours signifies a resolution and a full-circle moment, reflecting the protagonist's journey and his redemption :)
if you have 7 mins to spare to watch my short film, look under the cut!!
youtube
(BEWARE!!! I was on a tight deadline for this, the audio is SHIT)
