Modern WWX and WN find a weirdly familiar feeling talisman (that their supplier swore up and down didn't actually do anything and was just yet another relic from the distant past!) while working at a local museum and does something to it and find themselves all the way back in the tang dynasty.

Cool cool cool. Whatever. Wen Qing is gonna flip her shit at both of them when they get back- cause they're getting back! They will get back Wen Ning! Don't worry man we'll figure something out-

What the hell is this guy saying?

Wen Ying turns around for what seems like the millionth time to his friend to stare at him; (and actually making eye contact with him this time due to his head not being in his hands in his current despair) Wen Ning just looked back at him in disbelieving confusion. They could still hear the sword man yelling at them and gradually increasing in volume.

Yep! Can't understand shit this guy's saying! It's all gibberish over here my man! Nothing to see nothing to hear!

Ok. They were in a boat. They were in a boat in Yunmeng fucking Jiang- an ancient version of Yunmeng fucking Jiang! And there was some historical looking guy with a sword dressed in an achingly familiar shade of purple shouting at them in what Wei Ying was pretty sure was a super old version of the Yunmeng dialect that had long since evolved out from and was no longer being spoken or used outside of linguists trying to translate old documents that had somehow survived to the twenty-first century.

So. They were stuck in a boat in ancient China. Ok. Cool. Whatever. No big deal this is no big deal- this is TOTALLY! NO BIG-

Wei Ying put in his best "we're kind of fucked actually" smile. Wen Ning gifted a perfect thousand yard stare right back to him, seemingly coming to at least a similar conclusion of his own.

Yeah, Wei Ying let out a long sigh through his nose, he was gonna rip that supplier a new asshole or two when they got back.

I def agree with the take that Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji are more jealous of Wen Ning’s closeness to WWX than of each other but I’d like to add the idea that Wen Ning has no inkling of an idea that their glares might be of the jealous kind and not of the “you’re an abomination of nature” kind :(

Fanon likes to portray Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji as being jealous of each other because they fear wei wuxian will choose one of them over the other. Which is ignoring the fact that at least in novel canon Jiang Cheng did not even fucking know wangxian ever got along let alone that lwj was in love with wwx until at the very end of the story (in cql canon he does go through a wangxian phase early on and gets very confused by their "breakup" during wwx's sunshot era) and that Lan Wangji is mostly filled with loathing towards both himself and Jiang Cheng for 'abandoning' Wei Wuxian and not being able to save him.

It also ignores the much bigger point that both Lan Wangji and Jiang Cheng are actually jealous of Wen Ning. And why wouldn't they be? That is who Wei Wuxian chose in his first life. He left the Jiang, told Lan Wangji to fuck off no he is not coming to gusu with you, and spent his days with his little-brother-shaped corpse bestie on his mountain in yiling. And then when he came back he immediately called him up the second he could string together more than two notes on a flute. Wen Ning is the real competition. (And he's winning)

Luo Binghe and Wei Wuxian would get on because if they heard the mantra "Safe, Sane, and Consensual" the only one either would agree with is "consensual" and they would proceed to invent a hundred new wild kinks and a sex dungeon and equipment doe their partners who are like "this is very inventive but this also seems like too much effort"

The real menaces imo are Nie Huaisang and Shang Qinghua who would invent new kinks but also new kinda of fraud...And kinks about committing fraud

Wen Ning and Zhuzhi-lang would get in a loyalty off and end up kissing with tongue (or at least they should)

I also think Mobei Jun and Lan Wangji would get along as strong, quiet types who lost their mothers young and are incredibly horny for their talkative, ADHD, occasionally morally grey, and very competent lovers at all times

Shen Qingqiu and Jiang Cheng would I think actually get on because Jiang Cheng reminds Shen Qingqiu of Liu Qingge AND they commiserate over having martial brothers who are very smart but prone to getting into trouble and can't fucking shut up (Wei Wuxian and Shang Qinghua)

I think lbh and wwx should meet.

If you think it’s a secret third thing I would love to hear what it is. Let’s assume that WWX loses his core all the same and still becomes the founder of demonic cultivation, so neither Wangji nor Xichen would have to develop it, only learn from him.

Favorite Feral Lan Wangji Moments:

- Punching down several trees after kissing his crush (derogatory) for the first time because he has no idea how to process emotions normally

- Randomly biting Wei Wuxian in the cave because he has no idea how to process emotions normally

- Getting absolutely shit faced for the first time in his life and destroying a bunch of shit around cloud recesses before branding himself with the mark his crush from 10 years ago also had because he- well you get it.

- Writing an entire love song for his crush, naming it their ship name, and then only ever singing it out loud once to said crush without him knowing (this is an important tool we'll save for later)

- Generally enjoying being a little shit and then pretending he didn't do anything when people confront him about it

Day 12: Core

I feel like we as a fandom don't acknowledge how Wen Qing and Wei Wuxian were both prodigal geniuses in their respective fields, and how much they had accomplished in their young age.

Both of them had thought up an incredibly difficult theoretical concept that was deemed impossible or with little to no chances of success, and they both managed to pull it off. (Wen Qing with the golden core transfer, and Wei Wuxian with his guidao). Both of them worked together to help the Wen remnants survive in the burial mounds on a shoestring budget, and they managed for a long time.

I feel like people forget that Wen Qing was famous not only in the Wen clan, but throughout the cultivation world for her skills in the medical field.

In short, Wei Wuxian worked incredibly well with both of the Wen siblings. Which is why all their deaths are even more of a tragedy, that the cultivation world killed such brilliant minds in wake of their own greed and cowardice.
