Time will change you, We all outgrow our roots.
SURPRISE I've been thinking about Rip again, jk that's not surprising. anyways text is Rips inner thoughts from Time Masters #8. sort of.
#rip hunter#my art.png#anyways reminder daffodils represent rebirth and new beginnings which i feel like rip also represents within the meta.#but also i could go on a rant about how rip did the whole ''learn the past cant be changed without gravely hurting everything around-#-you can only move forward even when looking back and grow with the changes'' before booster did. and he did it alone (his own fault)#rips battles with mental health and violent self destruction and realizing that he isn't always right r important to me. SIGH.#also let me go ahead and post this at 2am my bad#idk if i like this but i havent finished art like this in months so we move on.

time will change you - the crane wives line by line analysis
white - midas, orange - icarus, purple - both link to the song
Something hurts, something aches Something bends until it breaks
midas having chronic pain, falling apart from the decay. Breaking
It's only time that tortures you
with all the time they've spent in the worldport, all the pain they've endured. how long has the decay been happening. having to watch worlds fall, versions die. *their* world fall, *their family* die. i think its justifiable for them to consider that torture.
Planting hearts in a grave
Something something icarus' heart belongs to centross something something centross is in a grave (the cave) something something icarus' heart is sealed in that cave with what little is left of him midas' heart however, is still in their world. with their family, buried in whatever void worlds fall into when the decay takes hold
Pray they grow after it rains
icarus (during s3) is trying to get centross back from the dead, which to them is going to be when everything is fixed and better, so the rain will stop then, because there'll be no reason for the rain. "they" is centross, they're praying (with their father as their god) that centross will get to continue to grow when he comes back midas is hoping to find themself again, to become a person again and grow "they" is themself. they're praying that after all this is over, after the rain gets to stop, they will be able to pass over the postion to icarus and get to stay alive afterwards alternative midas view: midas is hoping icarus will change after the rain, at the end of it all they will grow and they will do the right thing - as it is the last thing they *can* do after all - and will willingly take up the position of quixis and become a better person overall.
Someday
icarus doesn't actually know how long it's going to take to get centross back. they don't know when it all ends. midas doesn't know either, and its significantly longer for them. someday they'll get to stop. someday they'll do what they should've done far too long ago
Time will change you
midas has lost all sense of who they are. its safe to say they've been changed by the time theyve spent in the worldport
You'll leave behind what doesn't move What doesn't move
you'll leave behind what you can't take with you. midas had to leave behind their family. and honestly you could argue that they left themself behind too. perhaps they got too tired, perhaps the person they used to be was killed by the decay.
Time will change you We all outgrow our roots
Their roots being their world of course. where they came from. they've outgrown it . quite literally . their world has died and they continue to grow without it.
[wicked string noises]
there are no lyrics to analyse here but i have a vision of people dying, starting with centross, all the wack flare ups after that point, just everything that goes wrong and maybe some intercuts of the decay or midas being in visible pain or the wack spreading in other worlds maybe
Ain't that the way it always goes? Some of us float and some of us sink to the bottom
the (not so) subtle hatred icarus developed for versions of themself probably rooted in the fact they hate their actual self. some of them come out on top and some of them have to suck it up. worlds are decaying? not their problem
Just relax and believe that this'll pass
Icarus still trying to convince themself that it will all be over *soon*
Someday
perhaps little bits of doubt seeping in.. someday.. i mean surely, it'll be okay, right? someday? whether or not they live long enought to see that they aren't sure
Time will change you
this could be seen as a little sarcastic, in the sense icarus knows they're repeating their own past mistakes from corruption or you could view it as they've changed because they're aware this time. they know what they're doing and they're okay with that. they're okay with hurting people. time has done that to them
You'll leave behind what doesn't move What doesn't move
so much that they could be referring to here. i like the idea of it being centross though, they think he's dead so obviously not moving. they want him to start moving again though, so they dont have to leave him behind. they *cant* leave him.
Time will change you We all outgrow our roots
both are talking about icarus midas is referring to young icarus, how they've changed since fable sunk his claws into them. icarus is referring to as far back as they remember, the start of s1
Give me a chance to get this right
midas' job as quixis. they're notably bad at it. "give me a chance to fix everything" theyre trying to hold it off but they know *they* cant fix it
I'm learning how to let go
learning how to let go of all the attachments they've formed to all the remaining sherbs, learning how to let go of their attachment to icarus' life.
Leave your love in a grave
i like the idea that midas had a centross at some point. maybe the weren't together but maybe when midas thinks back on it with the perspective of every other version of them perhaps they realised they felt something for him. but now he's dead. and it's too late. and it's been too late for far too long.
If it won't grow then let it stay behind
they know they have to move on though. doesn't mean they're not a little bitter about it. they have to accept that their family is gone, their world is fallen and those people can never come back.
Time will change you
this whole verse is finale coded to me they have changed after all, they can see that now. they can see what time does to someone. what it's done to midas. what it's done to them. i mean hell they killed their father. if that's not change what is
You'll leave behind what doesn't move What doesn't move
they're okay with leaving their dad behind. they're okay with being different now. their father never changed, and now he wont move either. he is no more and they're accepting that they're going to leave that behind.
Time will change you
icarus used to hate the idea of death. now they've accepted it, they've come to terms with their fate and they're ready to embrace it. they're ready to take that step with wings pressed flat against their back. with no attempt to fly. suddenly, they're ready to fall. they're ready to *choose*
We all outgrow our roots
they've outgrown the person Fable wanted them to become. the person he moulded them into. they've outgrown being "Sherbert". they are ready to become quixis
Let go of what won't grow with you
after they've passed off the position of quixis. midas has to let go of the worldport, they are no longer quixis they are no longer connected to it. i think this line takes place in the first midas stream, where they finally leave the toy worldport
Time will change you
they're a little bitter about it this time, still in the first of the midas streams, they're referencing the way they don't know anything about themself. when the things ask questions when they go to pick quartz when it comes to trying to build anything. they've been changed.
We all outgrow our roots
rest of midas' arc of looking for their new world, learning to outgrow what they've come to view as their roots - the worldport. they outgrow their homeworld, next they will outgrow the worldport. and hopefully they won't have to grow more after that.
#i love these two fuckers so much#im so freaking normal about these blorbos#also one day i will end up posting all my thoughts about all of the songs in this album#and also the crane wives#sqcu midas#icarus morningstar#fable smp#quixis#ember analysis#underscore.text

Astro Observations - all sign placements
coming from an esoteric and evolutionary astrologer
The pictures used are not mine
In-depth Natal Chart Analysis - reconnect with your Soul and uncover the Divine within you
Learn natal astrology
(These are not in any particular order)
Pisces placements often refuse their own spiritual abilities unless they're really in tune with their chart and Soul purpose. I've noticed this so many times - these natives have the most potential for a natural connection to the divine, yet they so often dismiss it. This can be related to a variety of things, but I believe it mostly comes down to them being subconsciously scared to detach from the material plane and trust their innate wisdom (which often goes against what society has taught us). However when a native with strong Piscean energy does connect to the divine, they're unstoppable and enlightening.
Leo placements (yes I'm a big fan of these) have so much light in them. I can't stand all the "they're so egoistical" bullsht. Of course some will be, especially the unevolved ones, but let's be honest: most are scared of healed strong Leo energy because they don't get them (and our society really isn't built for someone like them living according to their highest vibrations). Leos are strong, brave, loving, joyous, and have enormous hearts. They're simply made out of pure love and I will not be arguing about this.
Natives with an abundance of Taurus placement will not ever forget how you did them wrong. It's a matter of time before their disappointment exceeds their feelings for you and they snap (and when they do it's truly awful). I know that we like to think Cancers are the most likely to hold grudges (and to an extent they are, but in a much more different way) but a fixed sign will really think about that for the rest of their lives. If they do happen to also have Cancer placements, forget ever being really forgiven (unless they're particularly conscious).
Scorpio placements are really not as vengeful as people believe them to be. They are ruled by Pluto - what they do is transform and outgrow their pain. Yes their anger is strong and all-consuming, but ultimately they're meant to let it go to be able to better themselves. And let's be honest, Scorpio placements have to go through so much. They're asked to face pain and discomfort throughout most of their lives. A conscious native will transform this into their greatest strength, they won't plan their revenge for years. They know something greater's coming.
Gemini placements are the true intellectuals of the zodiac. Wait, before you come for me (lately it seems that most only call them chatty and annoying), hear me out. I'm not saying they're smarter than anyone, but they are the most invested in learning about the world. This can take many different forms based on their unique chart, and most of the time the form it takes is chaotic. They may not follow the traditional educational path. Where Aquarius placements are invested in learning, yes, Gemini placements are also invested in applying what they've learned. They're unlikely to really dedicate their lives to one subject - but they will dedicate their life to continuously grow and stimulate their intellect. There's so much more to be said here.
Aries placements generally have a hard time accepting themselves. They carry so much enthusiasm and energy with them, more often than not they'll be deemed "too much". This can really hinder their spirit - these natives need a lot of freedom and acceptance from their early childhood to grow into their confidence and powerful drive. If they don't get it, they often tend to retreat within themselves and hold back their energy. This is the root of the stereotypical Aries anger - they've often been suppressing themselves for years.
Aquarius placements often need to give others better credit for the lessons they teach them. Giving gratitude is an important lesson they need to learn in this lifetime. Yes, gratitude. Even for their hurts. Possibly especially for their hurts. They have the ability to easily recognize patterns in human behavior, and they wouldn't be able to exercise this if they isolate. If an Aquarian numbs their emotions and doesn't realize the great (soon to be positive) impact a bad experience had for them they'll be unable to learn from it.
Virgo placements can be just as loving as the stereotypical maternally affectionate Cancerian. Their typical pickiness when it comes to choosing whether to let someone into their life or not is their way of evaluating possible hurts and protecting themselves from it. A healed Virgo native however will not be running away from someone based on the rationalization they made of the situation - a healed Virgo will have a highly developed intuition and be a channel for divine messages - they'll just know what is right for them without the need to judge the situation. And if the situation is indeed right, they'll be some of the most loving and dedicated people in your life.
Libra, Capricorn, Cancer, and Sagittarius placements coming soon.

Hey, there this The Crane Wives song that is literally perfect for Rock Branch- Don't shot! Don't shot! Hear me out!
Look me in the eyes, well, sunglasses, I promise you that 'Time Will Change You' is a fucking punch to the guts and it's such a amazing song about grief, moving on, changing and growing (and has some of their best instrumentals and vocals). Please, hear it, you won't regret it.
I think someone has mentioned 'Time Will Change You' (I'll be honest I think every single Crane Wives song has been recommended to me) but "We all outgrow our roots" really hits to me because Branch is healing in such a way that BroZone will never fit into his life like they once did.

"Lucile, what are you doing out here? It's freezing!" Josephine exclaimed, her body shivering as she stepped out from the warmth of the stove-heated home into the biting, crisp air.
"I won't be long, Josie! Just need to get these last few roots cleared," Lucile called back, her breath visible in the frigid air.
Josephine trotted over, rubbing her arms in a tight embrace against the cold. "What are you digging around in the dirt for? You'll catch your death out here. Surely this can wait."
Lucile gently shook her head. "If I want to try planting this spring, I need to get a head start on clearing this place up. The overgrowth is atrocious."
"Look at the ground, poor baby," Lucile said, "The dirt is scorched and mostly rock. It's going to take a mountain of work to make it usable for planting."
"All the grass doesn't seem to mind," Josephine replied, raising an eyebrow and gently fidgeting with her fingertips in an attempt to stave off the cold.
"Well, technically it's not grass at all! It's just dead plants mixed with sticks and tumbleweeds," Lucile said, brushing strands of hair out of her face.
"It's not just that," she continued. "Our little bugs won't be long before they start walking, and that's only a step away from running, they'll need a place to play so they don't drive us crazy."
"Right," Josephine replied, her gaze drifting off into the distance.
Lucile tilted her head, noting the distant look on Josephine’s face. "What's the matter? The yard will look much prettier after everything's planted. The kids won't run us ragged in the house, and I thought you might like the idea of a garden… your garden party friends would love that."
"Oh, it's not that," Josephine said quickly, drawing her attention back to Lucile. "Sometimes I worry our children will outgrow the house, you know? I wish we had time to spruce up the place, make it more fitting for them. It feels like we're living in a broom closet."
"Hmmm," Lucile murmured, turning her head toward the house and taking a moment to think. Nothing could ever take Josephine out of her heart, but there were things she was beginning to notice about her that she hadn't before.
Josephine's privileged lifestyle… Even lived with Silas, she resided in a lavish place and was barley asked to lift a finger. Here, it was different, and keeping her happy in a home that could be the size of her old bedroom was a struggle.
But she wasn't wrong either. Their children would eventually outgrow this home, and the situation was even more tenuous given that it wasn't really theirs. They were just renting, and someday Nia's children would need to move in.
"Well, I can't exactly start knocking down walls, Josie, the wood is too old, and I'm honestly scared of what I'd find in the bare bones of it."
She paused, gathering her thoughts. "I was thinking about getting into my own wine-making. Maybe earn a few extra clams so we can start saving for a two-bedroom place in town. What do you think?"
Josephine sighed, "Perhaps. But what if you can't make sales? You sure there's no work that can pay you more?."
Lucile gently wrapped an arm around Josephine, steering her back toward the warmth of the house. "I've seen firsthand how folks around here love their wine. It's impressive, really. Brands even ship out to other places! I’m confident I can turn a profit if I come up with something good, Josie."
"Hmmm... I don't know," Josephine murmured
"There's a huge demand for it," Lucile pressed on. "A few bottles here and there, and by the time the kids are grown, we could have enough to move somewhere new.
It won't be anything grand...we're keeping a low profile, remember? Just the occasional bottle at the farmers' market.
"I know, it's not that I don't trust you know what you're doing, it's just... such a long way off."
Lucile thought for a moment, then smiled. "How about this? I'll give you some cash, and you can pick out some wallpaper to redecorate the nursery."
Josephine perked up, gasping excitedly. "Really? Even though money is tight?"
"A little color wouldn't hurt," Lucile replied with a half-hearted smile. Josephine buried her head into Lucile's shoulder affectionately.
"You treat me so well."
"Of course," Lucile chuckled. "Everybody knows if mama ain't happy, nobody is... But maybe," she nudged Josephine playfully, "you could pay me back in other ways?"
Josephine replied with a smirk and a teasing purr, "Oh, I think I know a few ways I can show my gratitude."

Orange County Native Gwen Stefani Goes Back To Her Roots
By Allison Mitchell | April 17, 2024 | People Lifestyle Style & Beauty Feature Features Celebrity Art Style Style & Beauty Feature Culture Featured Lifestyle Feature Style & Beauty Culture Feature Awards Events Women of Influence Latest Entertainment People Feature Music style and beauty The Latest
Whether you know Gwen Stefani as the rock goddess fronting the legendary band No Doubt—who reunited in April for the first time in nine years at Coachella—or as the red-lipped solo artist mentoring others as a judge on NBC’s The Voice, there is no doubt Stefani has made her mark in the music world and beyond. In spring 2022, she launched GXVE Beauty exclusively at Sephora, and the year prior, she tied the knot with fellow Voice coach Blake Shelton, with whom she’s collaborated on numerous hit country songs. But despite her soaring success—see her three Grammys—Stefani is still just a girl from Anaheim, the hometown she’s never stopped professing her love for and the birthplace of the band that started it all. Here, as Stefani prepares to headline the 15th anniversary CHOC Gala at the City National Grove of Anaheim, the multitalented artist is discussing her Orange County roots and why giving back is essential to her life’s mission.
We’re excited to see you perform at the CHOC Gala on May 18. Why does CHOC’s mission resonate with you? My heart has always been drawn to CHOC, and through the years, I’ve been blessed to work with them. They do incredible work providing care and support to children and families, ensuring children have access to the best care and resources regardless of their circumstances. CHOC has always been close to my heart, and I feel so grateful to be able to continue to support them.
This year, you were part of the inaugural class of inductees in the new Orange County Hall of Fame. What does the honor mean to you? It’s one of those things that is bigger than a dream, as I never knew it was a possibility. Orange County is where my dreams were born and nurtured, and it has shaped my life. Orange County really built me as a person and defined me as somebody who felt pride in our city and in the different neighborhoods. Anaheim is my roots; it’s always been with me. I’ve been able to share it with the world through my songs and through my style, and I’ve always had so much pride and gratitude for where I’ve come from.
No Doubt got its start in Anaheim in the mid-1980s. How have your O.C. roots influenced you in No Doubt and your solo career? Growing up in Orange County has had a profound impact on my life and career. My O.C. roots have shaped my identity and my artistry in countless ways. It influenced us because of the lifestyle we had in the O.C. We turned to music to fill our days, and it was what we did in our lives.
Why was now the right time to return to the stage with your No Doubt bandmates, Tom Dumont, Tony Kanal and Adrian Young? I think it was something that was always going to happen as if it was always meant to be in 2024. It came together fast, and we all just thought, ‘This feels right, let’s do it.’
Tragic Kingdom will turn 30 in 2025—what are the tracks that you still can’t get enough of when it comes to performing live? Performing live feels incredible, especially when you’re playing songs that have reached so many people, like those from Tragic Kingdom. It’s unbelievably hard to digest it, doing songs like ‘Don’t Speak’ and ‘Just a Girl.’ When I wrote ‘Just a Girl,’ it came from a place of simplicity and innocence, expressing my truth at the time, never thinking anyone would hear it and never imagining it would have such enduring relevance. I used to wonder if I would outgrow the song, but it still feels like it’s lyrically relevant today. It’s amazing to see how the songs from this album continue to connect after all these years.
What are your earliest memories of falling in love with music in O.C.? My very first memories are of going to bluegrass festivals with my parents. My parents were big music lovers. Even at my grandparents’ house, I listened to The Andrews Sisters and was introduced to The Sound of Music and Annie soundtracks. I can remember listening to Shaun Cassidy in third grade, and from there, my older brother brought home a Madness record, which was underground music that wasn’t popular. Once we found that, we thought doing this type of music was what was going to sort of define us. It was that age when you were trying to find yourself and trying to find an identity, and we identified with this fun, quirky music from London. We felt like we discovered something we could wrap our arms around and make our own. We were kids and this inspired us to be in a band.
Can we expect new music? Yes, of course! I’ve been working on new music for a while. The longer you do this, you realize that it’s not so much about the end game; it’s really about the process. Being in the studio, creating music, is therapeutic, and it feels like I’m living my purpose. It’s starting to get to the point where I can see the finish line of this chapter and at the point where I’m ready to share it. Then, I want to move on to more music.
Who are you currently listening to? Lately, I’ve been listening to Linda Ronstadt. I love to listen to ’70s soft rock playlists, as well as songs from my childhood. I guess they call it yacht rock.
You’re also a successful fashion designer, and 2022 marked the launch of your cosmetics line. What products are staples for you from GXVE? I love every GXVE Beauty product, but I really love our mascara. It’s super volumizing, and the formula doesn’t flake or smudge. My latest launches are our Dewyplump Collagen Lip Gels and Cheek Tints, which I debuted at Coachella. I spent a lot of time developing these products to make sure they could perform in any setting, from the stage to everyday life. The Dewyplump Collagen Lip Gels and Cheek Tints have beautifully buildable pigments that pair really well with lipsticks and powder blushes; [they’re] melty and hydrating without feeling sticky.
You continue to elevate the fashion game—if you could swap closets with anyone, who would it be? Rihanna. At each point in her life, including becoming a mother and throughout her career, she always has incredible style that reflects both her and her artistry.
You’ve lived many lives in your career. When did you first feel like you ‘made it’? There was a particular show where I was performing with a band member, Alan Meade. We usually sang harmonies together, but on that night, he couldn’t make it to the show. So, I ended up performing solo. It was just me. I remember feeling an inner sense of ease onstage that night. It felt so right, so easy, as if I had discovered my gift. Even though I hadn’t achieved commercial success yet, that night made me feel like I had found myself and what I was good at. I will never forget walking into the parking lot after the show and feeling [like], ‘This is me.’
