You know what would be HILARIOUS?
The Flash Family, know sceptics. Men and women of SCIENCE(~✨️!). Just?? Casually rolling up one day to work like "oh BTW, ghosts are a thing. Very cool."
Like? EXCUSE ME?! Shouts furious and outraged magic users. ALL of whom had tried to explain that fact and failed... just... just SO MANY TIMES.
And the Flash are like "What?! Of COURSE Ghosts are real! There is SCIENCE to back this up!"
And? JLA Dark might? Spit blood? They are incoherent with rage. You FUCKERS.
Where are the papers? WHERE ARE THE GOD DAMNED PAPERS!? What was it? What convinced you, that their FIVE HOUR LECTURE failed to do!?!?
And it's some NOBODY named Daniel Fenton. A rebuttal of his parents earlier works.
Mother fuckers. Are these idiots POKING AROUND THE REALMS!? They... they need to sit down. Oh sweet Jesus. They feel faint.
And frankly, Barry doesn't get why ya'll are being so DRAMATIC. Why could you just explain things like THIS? Not all that... hand wavey, smoke and mirrors nonsense. This makes WAY more sense.
See? His friend, Sam, did a study on how judicious use of magic can help the environment! If you just TOLD him the "ghosts" you were talking about were just inter-dimensional extentions of life, he would have understood you! Now the NEVERBORN! Those are cool.
You should really read the paper, guys.
Might learn something.

i'm absolutely in love with the way you explain and reasearch historical aspects of everyday life!! any resources you use in particular? (i.e, sites, books, other blogs, ect)
Would you hate me if I said my head? Lol, I keep it basic both to give an introduction to the topics and because a good chunk comes from my background knowledge. I’ve always been interested in this sort of thing and I am a history-ed major so I’m putting all my classes since high school to good use! Lol.
I don’t have specific sources as they tend to vary based on the topic of the post but I do like to rely on a type of source. Be it a Reddit thread or an old nostalgia site but really these more first hand stories or memories and explanations they help a ton! Giving a real perspective too. I’ll also use more general reputable sources when I find or need them
But honestly my big secret is looking it up (sometimes) and knowing how to dig through results.
Another major help is asking family members! This goes for any recent decade especially, real life people are a great resource (grandma was a teen/young adult in the 60s - parents were teens/young adults in the 80s)
Antiquing! It’s a hobby of mine but it also is a huge help, as it’s really less and less Victorian or 1920s stuff and more recent decades. Toys to packages for an endless amount of products— like really seeing stuff or finding stuff you’ve never seen before.
Along with this and my personal account/nostalgia websites is following like nostalgia or decade accounts on instagram. They give products, memories, day to day, pop culture etc all the time… honestly same goes for teens/young adults who completely immerse themselves in a decade. They do their research!
I think that’s all my secrets 🫣

How to Be a 1960s Coquette
DISCLAIMER: This is based on my own observation. Feel free to follow the guideline or not. Do what makes you comfortable
Fashion:
♡ Ribbons on your hair! Whether they are big or small, they're all equally important
♡ Colours galore!
♡ Do NOT be afraid to experiment with patterns. Paisley, daisies - YOU NAME IT!!
♡ Tights, Tights, Tights!
♡ Mini skirts are essential
♡ Dresses with narrow/boxy silhouettes that are above your knees/knee length - NEVER GO BELOW unless it's a prom gown
♡ Early 60s style: Circle skirts and dresses are a-okay except they're slightly shorter than their 50s counterparts
♡ GINGHAM GALORE!
♡ Peter Pan collar is calling YOU
♡ Shoes must be low heeled or flat
♡ Hats and Headbands - your choice! Whether they are simple headband or a beret, whatever suits your mood
♡ Oh yeah, HEAD SCARVES!!
♡ Driving gloves for your pleasure
♡ Funky shaped, big Sunglasses ESPECIALLY ROUND AND THE HEART SHAPED ONES FROM "Lolita" (1962)
♡ Big, Bold earrings
♡ These boots are made for walkin'
♡ Remember - BE BOLD AND NEVER BE AFRAID TO EXPERIMENT!
Hairstyles:
♡ Generally, the hairstyles can either be relaxed or bumped up to create a nice, half-circle round shape on top of your crown
♡ Hair can be either very long and silky to pixie cut like Twiggy's
♡ BANGS! You need them
♡ If you have bob hair, you can brush them inward towards your jawline. If you have a neck/shoulder length hair, you can do a bubble flip
♡ Feel free to use wigs, wiglets, and hair extensions
♡ Bouffants and Beehives for the Gods
♡ If you have a long hair, do a braided ponytail
♡ Pigtails are all the rage!
♡ Again, DON'T BE AFRAID TO EXPERIMENT!
Makeup:
♡ Have fun with it! You can do a flower-patterned face paint or all over your limbs!
♡ Twiggy's eye look
♡ Big doe eyes or Sharp cat eyes
♡ Lashes on top and bottom + mascara!
♡ Nude or soft pink coloured lipstick
♡ Soft, peachy flush
♡ Early 60s: Go for the Barbie look with the soft wing and blue eyeshadows

Have a bit of a fixation on the 1980s and generally like it and the decades surrounding it. Media, fashion, music etc and a tendency to focus on details way way more than the average viewer
But my parents are watching the Dexter prequel and TV and movies like this- like it’s so clear to tell when they did like the MINIMUM effort. Like there’s a Box tv from 2005 and they threw some VHS around it “fuck it that makes it 80s” girls have slight curls and scrunchies and wear stripes “fuck it it’s 80s” and like a vaguely MCHammer sounding ass beat in the background.
Like I hate it when they don’t try? Like when it’s a weird amalgamation of stuff from the entire decade or vaguely related to a decade. Especially when they’re trying to say it’s a specific year.
Don’t even get me started on slang and the way people generally talked, or their knowledge base. Like people forget it’s not normal or common to know everything all the time like that’s a fairly new phenomenon but charecters in this type of thing will know every pop culture or political thing ever
