4. Over rated films: that whole Annabelle conjuring thing, it didn't feel like it did anything new. I also found Saw to be unwatchable after the first two, it was an interesting premise that eventually became a mess of how bloody can we make this thing.

11. As a kid were you allowed to watch horror: weird fact, I was more not allowed to not watch horror! My parents met in a video store and my mom was a deathrocker in the 80s. My dad showed me Bram Stoker's Dracula when I was definitely too young. The exception being Interview with the Vampire, which I read in middle school but wasn't allowed to watch, so I did anyway at a friend's house saying we were watching an extended lord of the rings. I asked about that rule as an adult and mom told me "I don't know, we were just trying to keep you from going to jail" which clarifies nothing.

20. Mandatory October viewing: Nightmare before Christmas is a staple at Halloween and Christmas, but I usually try to watch one scary thing a day all month

30. A movie fact you like sharing: Crimson Peak was largely practical effects, they got Doug Jones to be a lanky guy in a costume and made him transparent in post. Guillermo Del Toro also got the bendiest dude to crabwalk menacingly for Scary Stories to tell in the dark

I know I've already talked your ear off about my love of Guillermo Del Toro but he's just so good. The contortionist is Troy James and his Americas got Talent was incredible.

if i see one more person in the comments of a tiktok or post saying “ooooo david got off lucky!!!! you see if joel got his hands on him it would’ve been so much worse!!!!” wrong. you are already getting the wrong idea from the whole story. ellie can save herself physically. emotionally? no, she needs joel for that part. the show is literally highlighting that in every other aspect, he fails her. and how could he have possibly done worse? SHE SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD TO SMASH A MEAT CLEAVER INTO A PEDO’S SKULL 22 TIMES AT THE AGE OF 14. even joel can see it so why as a viewer can’t you?

i’m so glad craig and neil didn’t cut down ellie murdering david by joel entering the scene (like in the game) and changed it to her being allowed to take it as far as she wanted because it gives her so much autonomy. she did that shit on her own, and she’ll never be the same.
