"Oh, I feel so, so, so happy. My heart is fluffy and warm. #SaveDeadBoyDetectives #AsTheFrenchSayMerde"
I would be happy to hear about the moment when George thought Jayden's gestures and expressions were the most Charles-like, and when Jayden thought George's ones were the most Edwin-like.

"Aha, just seeing George and Jayden laughing at each other makes me feel full beyond words

"I am so grateful to them for creating such a wonderful, precious and sparkling time.

G: Hello, Myau. I really hope I pronounced that correctly; if I haven't, my sincerest apologies. Thank you so much for your cameo. It's lovely to hear from you. We're having a really, really fun time. We're on Day 3 of our cameos and you are the third one, so 3 is your lucky number for the week. Now, let's get into it. You've said, "firstly, you'd like to express your gratitude and respect to both George and Jayden. You're very grateful for the tenderness we've poured out to the fans, which is wider than the universe and deeper than the oceans." That''s very sweet of you. Love the water imagery. Um. You'd be happy to hear about the moment when George thought Jayden's gestures and expression are the most Charles-like and when Jayden thought George's ones are the most Edwin-like when it's not filming. J: That's a great question. G: That's a really good question. J: Mine's easy. G: Is it? J: It's just constantly, isn't it? G: Yeah. Fair. J: I'm trying to think, I think for George, it was whenever you would, like, warm up for like a scene or get ready for the day, and you warm up. I think that's when you would become more Edwin-like, of course, because you're preparing to play Edwin. But that's the closest I can get. Besides that, I just think you're a bloody idiot. [laughs] Nothing like Edwin. G: True. I'd say there's one in near the beginning of episode 2, where Jayden goes, and it was, it's kind of like pretty much an improv, but he was like, "oh, here we go." And that face, he pulls a lot. J: I'm rolling my-- G: Rolling his eyes J: --I'm rolling his eyes constantly. G: Um, you've said, "we are truly the best people you know." That's so nice. If only you knew us better, then you might not think that. J: Yeah. G: I'm kidding. But maybe I'm not. Um, thank you for your support, Myau, and thank you for partaking in this. Bye!

All of her friends decorating the tree and watching Christmas movies in their pj's together
Another day, another Dead Boy Detectives question! ✨
In the hopes of getting the fandom tag trending and getting more eyes on Dead Boy Detectives, please use the tag "dead boy detectives" when you reblog to reply.
Today's question:
What's the one present Niko would like most for the winter holidays?

"I would love for you to share some memories of fun times you had with any crew, any funny stories from 2am or general crew hijinks. Anyone's work that deserves more recognition. Literally please use this time to talk about the unsung heroes behind the scenes of Dead Boy Detectives. Hope you two have a lovely day."
In my second cameo I asked George and Jayden to share some fun stories about times with the crew, and use the time to shout out their work. There is so much effort that goes on behind the scenes and like I said in the message, the crew really are the unsung heroes of Dead Boy Detectives.
I also added the following message to my fellow tumblr DBDA fans (sorry that I made them perceive you) :
"Also shout out to the huge Dead Boy Detectives tumblr community! We are sometimes forgotten, but I know everyone there is fighting just as hard for renewal. Thanks for being a chill safe space- You are all amazing!"

I joined a new (and very chatty!) Discord server to get more. See how much I love you? 😍
I'm wondering how aggressively I should chase season 3. Now that scarcity isn't part of the whole appeal of the videos, it doesn't seem as urgent. Even with @edmcmayonnaise's brilliant chart, season 2 has been a lot more difficult without a dedicated twitter thread. (No shade to @noctua-an-owl for gracefully bowing out in advance or Georgerexstrewupdates; this is not an easy task and the firehose nature of twitter makes it especially difficult to catch specific posts.)

"Could you share any hard to find filming locations like the Monty swing set, the pergola in episode 5, Esther's house or the Cat King cannery?"
Steveston Village, Richmond BC (looks like the cannery was the Britannia Shipyards)
North Vancouver Cemetary (where Shelby was interred as well as the swingset kiss) * note from the boys: many graves in the show were fake but this is a real cemetary so if you're planning a visit please be respectful *
Cloverdale Branch of Surrey Libraries, where Maxine worked and Edwin and Crystal met Monty
Sheringham Point lighthouse in Souk, BC (Dagfinn's lighthouse)
In my first cameo I outed myself as living in Vancouver and the fact that I'm starting a photo series of Dead Boy Detectives locations. I asked if they could share any hard-to-find filming locations with me.
I honestly wasn't expecting them to remember anything since for them it's basically random places from two years ago, but George went out of his way to look some of them up. Honestly I appreciate him so much (and I need him to drop me that list)!
I had a few of these on my list already but definitely some new ones! To me the cameo was worth the price just to get a lead on the swing set/Shelby's cemetery location and at least a general location for the cannery. I cannot tell you how many hours I have spent looking at warehouse photos...

A sequel to this gorgeousness.
Tumblr media
Ink and watercolour art as a donation raffle prize for @alltimefail who wanted to see the boys (and girls) dancing in formal attire. So I drew a companion piece to my art of Jenny’s wedding.

The finished watercolour is gorgeous.
Still catching up on cameos and noticed that I hadn’t posted my last one. It’s for the DBDA fanartists. I asked what Charles would have liked to draw as a child (because the question came up on Tumblr), and if Edwin had other drawings than those of Hell in his notebook.

"SaveDBD Team update on the billboard's 2nd run."
Transcript below:
J: Hello to the Save DBD Team. I know you have done this for us, but we just want to say hello to you. Lemme get straight into what you have to say. So. "Hey guys, we heard you were sad to miss the billboard seeing as we are based in LA, but we have some fantastic news for you. Drumroll, please. [makes drumroll sound] In just a few short days, we've successfully funded another run of our billboard." Oh my God! G: Oh my gosh, wow. J: "It will run for 3 weeks in December and should be up just in time for you guys to go visit if you want." G: Wow J: "We're in between starting the run on the 2nd or the 9th, so please tell us what works best for you two. Our entire team is beyond ecstatic to get this opportunity and we have, no, and we hope you are, too. It is truly a tribute to this fandom's love and dedication, with love, the Save DBD Team." G: Wow. My gosh, you guys, that is,...well, first of all, congratulations. I mean, clearly you guys are marketing experts and you, it's the passion that is coming through. The fact you did that, literally blows our minds. It's crazy. J: It's crazy. G: Listen, we are heading to LA just after Christmas and we're there through January, so, I think it's around the twenty-ninth-ish of December, so right at the end. Um. Listen, if we can't be there for the billboard, please don't, don't...prioritize you guys and, and, you know, what you think's best. Uh, if we're able to catch it, we absolutely will, we'll make it a priority. J: And if any of you want to catch the new billboard, it is located at 5106 Hollywood Boulevard. And if you do go and visit it, please take photos, please post them, um, and send them to us because we are just, yeah, so blown away by your generosity, not just of these cameos, but the fact that you've kept this billboard up for such a long time is absolutely incredible. Listen: to the Save DBD team from your two dead boys, we love you very much. We are so proud of you. Keep being that positive ray of light that this community needs. Love you all.

Transcript below:
J: This is a special request to Oil Train from Tan. This is a spin-off version of the Crate of Shame. This version would be the Oil Bin because Ollie often streams in his FC 25 game on Twitch. If you two could fit in as many oil puns as possible with your commentary, that will be awesome. So. Um. How about this: how about we are just going to tell people to get into the oil bin. So, Winter? Go.
G: In into the oil bin, [sings] into the oil bin Tan.

G: Ethii, stop drawing, use some oil, draw with that instead.
J: Bee, stop being so bloody positive. Get into the oil bin.
G: Jolly, stop being jolly. Get in the oil bin.
J: Madi, stop gifting me so many bloody subscribers, into the oil bin.
G: Will, bin.

"Hi! Just wanted to add to my previous appreciation message that I'm currently in progress of writing fan letters for you two. What would you like me to write about myself? I have some ideas but I'm curious to know what you'd be interested to know about me. Maybe I could throw in some dreams about the Dead Boy Detectives…? Aaand, when are you planning to visit Australia? Straydenation would love to see you! (is this a good idea though? You'll have to find out!) Then I could pass on the letters? Oh boy, it's been a week, this is the last request from my end (for the time being?) Thank you for answering my questions that tore themselves free!"
Transcribed under the cut:
G: Hi, Tan. It's so lovely to hear from you again. So. You've said you're currently in the progress of writing some letters to us. Thank you so, so much. I'm still hunting down your previous one. Um. Please feel free to write whatever you feel comfortable about yourself. We've already got a great sense of view from this, but obviously, any other, any other things are welcome for sure. Um. We'd love to hear any theories about Dead Boy Detectives. What did you love most about Dead Boy Detectives? J: And what did you love most about each of the characters? And, and, you said you saw a lot of yourself within those characters. So, if you are comfortable sharing, we'd love to know what parts of yourself you saw within the characters and which parts of our characters you related to. G: For sure. Uh, listen, Jayden and I would love to come and visit Australia for sure, and come and hang out with Straydenation. Um. We'll get the chance, maybe one day, you never know. Stranger things have happened. Um. So, thank you so much for writing to us, it really touches our hearts. You've shown tremendous generosity to us two. You've shown tremendous passion for the show-- J: --and also to the community, I mean, I've, I think you're probably going to be posting these somewhere and the fact that you're then sharing our answers wih the community, you know, giving them free content, that is also so incredible. G: There you go. The, the generosity knows no bounds, clearly Tan. Thank you so much. Look after yourself. We'll see you soon! Bye.

"Sometimes my life can be hard for me to push through accessibility issues. Having escapism helps, adulting is hard. I love you two (platonically) and I'll be supporting you two til death. And I related so hard to your characters! It's the first time I saw myself, the way I function within both of your characters. You two have an amazing chemistry with bouncing off each other and having fun. I love that about you! I guess this is a thank you message to you for giving the show life and it will be immortalised forever in my soul. Thank you so much for this Gameoden week, I appreciate that you are giving this back to us in the best way you can!"

Um, some with amazing questions, and then some even more generously, just to tell us how much you appreciate us, so we should take this time to tell you how much we appreciate you. Your endless support has, yeah, blown us away this week, and just know that you have made two dead boys here very, very, very happy. G: And we will fill out that surevey-- J: -- yes, we will. There's a Tiktok video I saw this year that has the line "Ok Mr Timekeeper listen, Why!?" and the timekeeper trapped them in a loop and created 'a sick wet beat'. It's catchy, ngl! What moments in DBD would you remix into a sick musical loop?
Transcript below:
"J: TAN ONCE AGAIN THIS IS JUST CRAZY, thank you so so SO so much. We are LOVING seeing your name pop up, it is bringing us such joy and putting big smiles on both of our faces. You have SAID: There's a tik tok where I saw this year that has the line, ""Okay Mr. Timekeeper, listen. WHY?"" and the timekeeper TRAPPED them in a LOOP and created a sick wet beat. It's catchy, not gonna lie. What moments in Dead Boy Detectives would you remix into a sick musical loop? I LOVE that question! UM! What-- what moments? G: I think, this is really obscure, but I think I would go for um when David the Demon, Crystal, And Jenny are on the roller rink. There's something about that WHOLE scene, including when they are transported to David's realm that feels -- like with the intensity, but then the sort of suspension when they're in his realm-- That could be a very cool loop, and a very cool musical interpretation. J: And I am going to go with in episode 6 where the gang are hiding behind the tree and they're watching the deer roam the woods and it gets YANKED G: (gasps) That's a great one! YEETED! J: into the ground by the moss. YEETED!! Um, we hope that answers your question! Thank you again SO MUCH for asking us all these amazing questions, you are great, we love you lots. G: (softly) Bye!"

"G'day mates, I recently watched an Aussie Taskmaster episode on the telly, and their prize task for tonight was to bring in a object that the future civilisations would question, if they got Pompeii-ed whilst holding the said object. What would you two hold (a DBD object or not) when being Pompeii-ed? I also would highly recommend you to check out the Aussie version of Taskmaster if you can, it's so goofy and quirky that I've ended up on the floor laughing multiple times! I love when they bring the Taskmaster assistant into their shenanigans! ""Oink oink bitches!"" Ooh, can you say ""How now brown cow"" in the most heavenly voice possible?"
Transcribed under the cut:
G: Hello, Tan. Let's get straight into it. You've said, "G'day mates, I recently watched an Aussie Taskmaster episode on the telly, and their prize task for tonight was to bring in a object that the future civilisations would question, if they got Pompeii-ed whilst holding the said object. What would you two hold (a Dead Boy Detectives object or not) when being Pompeii-ed?" J: Cricket bat. G: Uh, I would go with the magnifying glass. "I also would highly recommend us to watch the Australian version of Taskmaster" Ok! Well, listen. I am Edwin in the show, and Jayden is, of course, Charles, and one thing that they both love is a task. So. And do you know what? They would already consider themselves the master of tasks, but having said that, they are always open to some practice. J: And to end this, you have said, "can you say 'How now brown cow' in the most heavenly" Well, that just takes me to, like, Northern Ireland, so I'll give you one in a Northern Irish accent, and that's how we're gonna end this. So. High nigh brian kai.

I cannot, and will NOT be stopped with my unhinged requests! I love watching the contagiously fun energy bounce between you two and it's so fascinating to watch people move, especially unconsciously. Like you two are so animatedly active that I could explode from the dopamine from watching you (and so especially George's! I've made so many gifs from both of you too 😅 oh and gifs for Raffy too! Luna needs some!!)
Transcript below:
"J: WOW, Tan, you are here again, I cannot believe it. But you know what? We just wanna say thank you so, so much for your continued support for us, we love you, and yeah let's get into what you have to say this time. So you say you cannot, and will NOT be stopped with the requests! You love watching the contagiously fun energy bounce between us and it's so fascinating to watch people move, especially unconsciously. OK, you have said [makes noises with his mouth] G: Well it's said that you have… you need… you've made gifs for Raffy, so Luna needs some gifs now J: Ooh, I know what I'll do. How about I sign Raffy and Luna's name for you? I think that's fun. So we got R-A oh, I think it's F, is F this? F-F-Y and then we have L-U-N-A. And you're probably not gonna need to lip read us for this one, but… [heart hands] G: We love you, Tan."

Hi cheeky monkeys! Did you have any favourite theatre games? What acting techniques did you study in the acting schools? I'm quite obsessed with movement, mainly locomotion and gestures. Have you done any study on animal movements in drama classes? Seen some gameodens being shared around and smeg it, George I LOVE your facial expressions! (Jayden I still love your Twitch streams, lemme love George with this 🤫) Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast with more requests!
Transcript below:
"J: Tan! Once again, wow! This is becoming, just, yeah, I-I can’t even, I can’t even put it into words, but, anyway let’s go! J: “Hi cheeky monkeys. Did you have any theatre games? What acting techniques did you study in the acting schools?” G: Um, I, the earliest kind of theatre game I remember is “splat!” Which is a great one and “Zip, Zap, Boing!” That’s always a big energy booster. Um, and in terms of acting techniques? Uh, one that I think is, uh, particularly great for screen acting is the “Meisner Technique.” G: Um, you also said, you’re “quite obsessed with movement. Mainly locomotion and gestures. Have you done any study of animal movements in drama classes or anything alternative?” J: Oh! When I did a short film in 2013 {"Mohammed"], I was feeling really nervous, uh, because it was my first time on camera, and our director, Mustapha Kseibati, made me walk around the room like an eagle. And at the time, I didn’t know why he was doing it, but I realised it was just to bring me out of my shell, and d’you know what? There was something quite primal about it, and I think it brought out like a fire within me and it was great. Um, “I’ve seen some Gameodens being shared around in and smeg it, George—“ G: Amazing, thank you so much, Tan, for all of these things. We’re so grateful. Um, and, uh, every—like we said—every time it’s like you’re a Dead Boy Detective super fan. So props to you. Take care, Tan!"
