About fighting styles: The Rider is a powerhouse but most of his experience up to this point comes from fighting criminals, which is kind of like shooting mosquitoes with a bazooka. The Hunter is trained and experienced, and since there was another Ghost Rider in the original Midnight Suns it wouldn't be crazy to imagine that they sparred together at some point, so she knows what to expect from him... mostly. She knows how to control the flow of the battle and, since you do not take a single decision in the whole game, I like to think that her leader status comes from the fact that she is the one who calls the shots in the missions, so I like to headcanon her as a fairly good strategist. The moment she sees her chance she takes it, and in case it wasn't clear enough, she times her punch so it will hit the exact moment he is about to spit the fire.

Even if Robbie is used to just overpower his rivals, he isn't dumb either, so he uses the car as a last surprise attack that she is absolutely not expecting in the slightest before he reverts to his human form, because I think that probably swallowing hellfire is not a very healthy or pleasant thing to do.

At the end of the day, after the fight, he is mostly like "blegh my mouth tastes like brimstone now" because he is very sturdy, but she has some very minor injuries. The car hit was not a direct blow because she managed to mostly avoid it and the shield did absorbe some of the damage.

To sum up, in terms of raw power Robbie is stronger at this point (even if the Hunter is stated in the game to be stupidly overpowered, I still think that Robbie is even more powerful at this stage), but the Hunter has more experience and is a better strategist overall so she can keep up with him toe to toe. This is what I wanted to show, but I'm not sure if I succeeded because it's the first time I try to draw people fighting and IT'S VERY HARD.

Steve’s parents used to drag him along to their business events and even though it’s different industries it’s all the same. Steve knows these crowds, he grew up with them and they bring out the bitchiest upper middle class version of him, a Steve who has passive aggression and faux politeness down to an art

Eddie will watch on in delighted awe as his husband, all while smiling mildly and sipping wine, destroys people. just cuts into them and also making everything sound nice, innocuous. Most of them don’t even realize it’s happening they just suddenly find themselves gaping, searching for words, as they’re backed into a corner

and Steve will look at them, tilt his head and wait them out, but before they get the chance to backtrack he’ll hum, shrug and walk away, Eddie on his heel asking if he wants to get out of there, like right now? or maybe find a bathroom?

I’ll say it with my whole chest: that entire blog is a joke and an excuse for insecure, mean spirited people to harp on others. I blocked the entire page basically right at the beginning when I started seeing it pop up in my feed, but from what I gathered when my attention was dragged there by the anons in my own inbox, it’s full of people who:

A. Hate the game and all the characters

B. Are jealous of other creators and their success

C. Are too lazy to write their own stories yet have the gall to criticize other writers’ work

The fucking audacity to make a blog like that and defend the blatant bullying with “well we’re allowed to dislike things and have our own opinions” is so unbelievably lazy it’s not even funny. Nevermind the fact that there’s nothing anonymous about half the asks there— I could clearly tell who certain asks were referring to. Maybe the whole thing started with a few harmless polls (which is what I saw at the start) but it’s transformed into something so nasty that to defend it just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. On reflection i think Dragon taking in Sabo but leaving Luffy behind could potentially become a huge wrinkle in how Luffy thinks of him once they do actually meet. He could even see it as Dragon breaking up the brothers needlessly, Luffy more loyal to Ace than this essential stranger deciding in his head that Ace would have never stood in the way of the three of them staying together. Or even a 3 way conflict of “sabo would never have wanted his brothers to abandon their dream for him” vs. “luffy and ace would have wanted the opportunity to help Sabo”

Which cooould lubricate the story wheels a little for a more civil crocodile and luffy crocdad reunion, if crocodile expressed some disagreement in Dragon’s judgement or philosophy that could stand to better align with Luffy’s feelings on the topic (probably some form of pragmatism about how its pointless to save the one when you could just as easily take all 3, or that severing Sabo from his brothers made him a weaker fighter than if Dragon had taken all 3, etc.)

Goldfish logic Luffy. He is currently mad at Dragon-dad but Croco-dad is agreeing with him on it so he’s ok with Croco-dad now.

I don't think Dragon lowkey adopting Sabo would do anything to hurt Luffy's relationship with Dragon or sour his view of his father. Like there are genuinely understandable reasons to why Dragon couldn't stay with Luffy, and Sabo ended up with Dragon under unusual, unintended circumstances. Like, if Dragon explained why things turned out the way they did, I think Luffy would understand and wouldn't hold any grudges against him. Dragon had his reasons, he did what he did, what's done is done and it all turned out okay in the end, so knowing Luffy he should be okay with it.

That said, there are things Dragon did absolutely fuck up. Things that could possibly lead to Luffy being a little mad at Dragon and/or take Crocodile's side on something.

Now to be fair, we don't know how the Dragodile Divorce went down, like there are Circumstances that could potentially explain some of these potential fuck ups (on Dragon's behalf) away. But we can't go through all the potential scenarios of what might've gone down here, in the end, what really matters is that:

Dragon didn't tell Crocodile his full name

Dragon didn't tell Crocodile what he named their child

Dragon did not contact Crocodile about their child being a pirate

Dragon knew full fucking well Crocodile was literally World Famous for crushing pirates in Alabasta

Dragon knew Luffy entered the Grand Line and thus there was a genuine possibility he could eventually reach Alabasta

Even if we put what happened with the manufactured rebellion and Vivi aside, if the Strawhats had gone to Alabasta and wrecked any havoc there (even by accident as Luffy tends to do), Crocodile would have gone and killed the crew, just like the thousands of others he had crushed before. And Dragon would have been aware of this. He should have known that could happen. That his ex and child could end up fighting and someone (namely the child) dying

Meaning, even without the Bizarre Circumstances they were in, it is arguably Dragon's fucking fault that Crocodile tried to kill their son three whole times. Because Dragon didn't tell Crocodile anything, and did not even warn him their son could end up in Alabasta.

If Crocodile turned out to be fucking furious at Dragon for this, well, he would be objectively justified in being angry. Because Dragon did fucking drop the ball there, completely. Croc tried to kill his own son, completely unaware, because Dragon couldn't even tell his own full name to his partner. Not even the name of their son. Nothing.

And so if Crocodile was fucking furious at Dragon for it, perhaps even a little upset about what he did to his baby boy because of Dragon's incompetence. Yeah I think Luffy would understand Croc's feelings. He might just take Crocodile's side there.

Especially because we don't know how the Dragodile Divorce went down either, like if shit got even a little transphobic then god knows Dragon Fucked Up Bad and Luffy won't side with that shit either

i'm so down for including cal as one of the children The Worst Parents In The World end up adopting but i think it's way funnier if anakin comes back from a business trip with a baby. obi-wan got to choose a baby, it's anakin's turn!!! he can't trust obi-wan to do it right and pick a baby that looks like him, so he's just going to pick one up himself. and he's going to be smart enough to kill the parents immediately.

but back to collei and bard. two characters who have such a relationship in regards to gods. this fic would’ve had collei come swinging by mondstadt for a visit, and, perhaps, got lost in a storm on the way there. ending up huddled into a corner and devastatedly watching as her stuff is tossed into said storm. there, she meets a stranger who looks awfully like that one local bard amber and lisa talk about, who has run in to find her, and take her to safety.

throughout the way there, she wonders. why is it that this storm is so peculiar ?? mondstadt’s winds are never quite this strong !! is barbatos … angry, maybe ? was something done to have upset him ? (did they ever get angry at her, for when she …. )

and bard … pauses. scowls. laughs. it would depend, wouldn’t it ? how are they hurting people ? are they malicious about it ? they are a kind god, see, and often go around to inconvenience those who have wronged them or their city. (they don’t answer, there are times barbatos is seething, times where people are reminded that the reason the mountains around them were halved by this same god, that the wind is playful, sweet—and dangerous, ruthless.)

then bard goes on to be like. why. if barbatos were to be angry at anyone, that honor would go to me !! my, if they knew of all the offerings ive took from them, they surely would smite me. (the entirety of the time, i just want the vibe that bard is assuring—you are not from here, no, but you are more than welcome as a free child all the same, you who have gained your freedom from despair. you who lives her life reaching for each new opportunity given. you are doing good.) also bard slightly. kinda. vagues at decarabian and other gods at some points.

i just think. bard, who lived his life under a god who did not understand them. collei, who lived her life thrown to the wolves, stuck with remains she did not ask for, who felt betrayed by the heavens for how they failed her.

and mondstadt, and barbatos, who may guide their people, but leaves them largely to make their own decisions. barbatos, whose appearances made are when their people are in distress, who would rather cut their wings off than leave mondstadt to burn. and how they would feel about that—about how this city has turned out, how it helped them, or !!!!!! just !!!!! yeagh

...you know, I think Jiang Cheng spent all those years feeling just as fucking guilty about Wei Wuxian getting made the whipping boy in his name, as Wei Wuxian did about being Yu Ziyuan's stated motivation for making her family miserable.

Angrier about it than Wei Wuxian! More interested in throwing the blame around! Resentful! But just as guilty.

Really adds more depth to his abortive attempt a little after this to die for him, and Wei Wuxian's much more successful maneuver a while after that to maim himself for him.

Also adds to the 'Remarkable He's As Sane As He Is, Honestly' stats of post-timeskip Sect Leader Jiang.
