EDIT: I've now made a post that you can read here with more information about the ICJ rulings, their powers and what we can do with this ruling here. I had to this morning and will continue to delete, report, and block all comments/asks that are anti-Arab, zionist, Islamophobic, racist, and/or antisemitic.
We already knew this but the ICJ has now ruled that Israel's continued occupation of Palestine is illegal and needs to end ASAP.
They found that Israel's occupation does not give it the right of sovereignty over the West Bank and Gaza and that it is not a temporary occupation but is an illegal, permanent and discriminatory annexation. The ICJ also found violence against Palestinians, Israeli exploitation of Palestinian natural resources, transfer of civilian population (settlers and companies/organisations), extension of Israeli laws to replace local Palestinian laws, forced displacement of Palestinians, confiscation of Palestinian land, annexation. That Israel's 'security concerns' are not valid justifications for any of these measures.
The ICJ has ordered Israel to end its presence in the West Bank and Gaza immediately and to cease all new settlement activity, return all lands and assets to Palestinians that they've ceased since 1967 and that includes archives and items of cultural significance, evacuate all of their settlers from the settlements, pay compensation, and repeal all laws that maintain this occupation and discrimination. The ICJ is not legally-binding but does carry significant political weight and this ruling is important for continuing to advocate for Palestine and to put pressure on our government's to do the right thing and for them to put pressure on Israel. Keep contacting your representatives!

The Beijing court supported Ms. Gao on two counts and ruled that Dangdang should continue to honour her original contract of employment. In addition, the court said Dangdang should pay her salary from the date she applied for sick leave to the date of arbitration
The Beijing No 2 Intermediate People’s Court went on to state that “social tolerance is a blessing of the rule of law” and highlighted the need to “respect diverse ways of living and protect the dignity of transgender people.”

Democrats are feeding people xenophobia and civic nationalism on prime time tv as part of their presidential campaign.
Why is the USA's so-called progressive party allowed to do that. Why are these politicians being enabled, justified, and even encouraged if American liberals themselves are not fascists? Or at the very least, okay with fascist policy. (But I mean how are you okay with fascist policies and not a fascist anyway? There's already a modicum of denial going on there).
Democrats are calling Trump weak and vowing to be "tougher" (more abusive and discriminatory) towards immigrants & refugees crossing the border.
What makes liberals and Democrats so above critique that they're allowed to do worse than Trump and get applauded for it?
Are y'all really that easy to trick with some songs and buzzwords?

by January 10th 1 in 3 people will have had this wave of covid. covid causes long term damage with each infection and wears down your immunity. you do not want this. there is no cure for long covid or me/cfs and there is a significant chance (last I checked I think it was 1/5 infections) of getting long covid that increases with each infection. please protect yourself and your loved ones by wearing a mask. variants have become more transmissible so a n95 or kn95 is the minimum protection to keep yourself reasonably safe(r) from getting covid.
it is important to understand often viruses do not simply clear up and go away. like chicken pox and shingles or what we now think of as polio that is actually post polio syndrome. polio symptoms were mild and 75% of cases are asymptomatic. we do not yet see the full scope of what this virus will do over our lifetimes. as someone who had my entire life derailed by me/cfs after having mono, (almost 10 years ago! it hasn't gotten better!) we have to take pathogens more seriously if we care about ourselves and our communities.
I'm willing and open to talk with people who want to understand better what covid does to our bodies and how we can best practice community care and also harm reduction if we're stuck in unsafe situations at home or work (certain mouthwashes and nasal sprays can help).
if you're watching what's happening in Palestine and live in the US, the government doesn't care about your life either. They lied about palestine and they lied about covid too. It is not just a cold.

August 22, 1989 - Huey P. Newton, revolutionary socialist and leader of the Black Panther Party, was assassinated on this day in 1989. The Black Panther Party rose to prominence in the 1960s and 70s for raising the revolutionary consciousness of the oppressed Black communities in the United States. Newton’s writings and leadership have left a permanent mark on the Black liberation movement and the socialist movement broadly. Newton elevated the Panthers to the role of internationalist revolutionary socialists who sought to fight US imperialism in order to liberate the most oppressed communities within the country. Newton, like many others in the Black liberation movement, was a target of the FBI’s COINTELPRO, which sought to sow division between revolutionary leaders and organizations. [link]

Irish MEP Clare Daly calls for tangible action against Israel
Pointing out that formal Irish recognition of Palestine is already decades late, the Independent MEP proposed that more needs to be done. She suggested an arms embargo and the suspension of Irish trade with Israel.

Take a good look at the countries leading/have started the legal battles to hold the IOF accountable -their fights to end IOF terrorism and war crimes, as this should have been done months ago, are now beginning.
So many Palestinian people have been genocided, and the rampant global government inaction has caused chaos, death, and destruction of Gaza... I just hope this leads to a permanent ceasefire and an end to the occupation. I truly do.

Timely quote from birthday boy Karl Marx (May 5, 1818):
"We have no compassion and we ask no compassion from you. When our turn comes, we shall not make excuses for the terror. But the royal terrorists, the terrorists by the grace of God and the law, are in practice brutal, disdainful, and mean, in theory cowardly, secretive, and deceitful, and in both respects disreputable."
Karl Marx, "Suppression of the Neue Rheinische Zeitung," May 1849

Video from the March on the DNC today.
Around 15,000 people showed up, this was the largest march I’ve ever been to.
15,000 people showed up today to stand with Palestine, and to show the democrats that ending this genocide is non-negociable. It is not a fringe issue, it is not to be overlooked and this movement is not to be dismissed.
Long live Palestine! 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸❤️❤️❤️❤️
