Learn about the effects of over-exfoliation on your skin in our latest blog post. We explain how excessive exfoliation can lead to irritation and sensitivity, and offer tips on how to exfoliate correctly to keep your skin healthy and glowing. If you are in your thirties, you have probably started noticing subtle changes in your skin. Science tells us that as we age, our bodies naturally produce less oestrogen. This decline in oestrogen disrupts the skin's natural renewal process, leading to a loss of collagen and elastin.

glazed doughnut skin secrets⋆.ೃ࿔*:・🍩
Tumblr media
start off with a thick moisturizer, the key to this is to not use too much and instead, use a finger-lengths worth (or two) of body butter or cream or whatever u like to use. but in that same breath use enough to lather.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
when ur using a thicker lotion/body butter make sure to rub it with ur hands first so that it can kind of liquify (is that the right word?) but soften and spread onto ur skin easier.
important spots to remember when doing this are ur elbows and beneath the straps of ur shirt or bra (i recommend doing this routine top-less but do whatever ur comfortable with)
next go in with a body oil so that then u can look glossy and pretty
an important thing to note with body oil is that not all body oils are the same ofc. some oils have more healing and repairing properties and some r meant solely to make ur body smell sweeter.
glitter oils and body bronzing drops (dont forget the shoulders and make sure to use shimmery spray to emphasize collarbones)
another hot tip : do a before bed body slugging routine that i spoke about in one of my previous posts so that u can wake up with baby soft skin in the morning
lastly make sure to use a perfume blend that makes u smell as scrumptious as u look ✨

•°•Hot Girl Tips•°•
Hydrogen peroxide removes period stains
Rubbing alcohol and/or hand sanitizer removes nail polish
The amount of water you need to drink= your weight÷2, then that number÷8 so for example 100÷2=50÷8=6.25 so if you weigh 100 pounds you would need at least six 8oz glasses of water per day
Sugar wax>>> here's a recipe: 1 cup of white sugar, 1/4 cup of water, 1/4 cup of lemon juice (lime works too) combine the ingredients in a saucepan and let them boil until golden brown. The easiest way to test the wax is to have a small bowl of ice water and drop a little bit of the wax into it. When the wax is ready, you'll be able to roll it into a soft ball and it will keep its shape. When this consistency is reached, put it in a glass jar (make sure the jar isn't cold otherwise it will crack) and let it cool off for at least an hour. Once cool, apply it in the opposite direction of hair growth and wax awayyyy
Diy cuticle oil: olive oil and vitamin E oil. You could add a drop or two of essential oil if you want. The amount of oil you need depends on your container so for mine it was a tablespoon of olive oil and 1 teaspoon of vitamin E.
Diy dry shampoo: 3 parts cornstarch and 1 part baking soda.
Healthy drink to ease bloating and get in your vitamins and minerals: 1/2 cucumber, a few sticks of celery, kale or another dark green of your choice, lemon juice, turmeric (a little goes a long way) and ginger. Fresh is best but any ginger you have will work. Fill the blender to the max line with water, and blend until liquid. You can strain it if you want, but you don't have to. It doesn't taste great, but in the long run it is worth ittt
Smelling good is such a wonderful thing for so many reasons. First, pick a scent. Or at the very least a top 3 like I have: vanilla, Dior Blooming Bouquet, and Sol De Janeiro '68. I also use the classic scent from Soap and Glory (rose and bergamot). The first and most important thing is to find a good deodorant. Which one works for you depends on your body chemistry, but dove is always a safe bet :). Next, find a good shower routine. Having all of your shower products smell similar will keep the scent lasting longer. And, of course, shower at least every other day. Washing your hair is different bc your hair washing routine depends on your hair type. And of course you must find a body lotion that matches your other shower products.
Last and final tip for today: keep your nails and hands healthy and pretty by moisturizing your hands with hand cream. I like this one by Burts bees, this one from Eucerin, and this one from Dior (pricey I know but it's w o r t h itt).
That's it! Tysm

What do you recommend for hair removal? Do you know any tips or tricks for getting longer term full Body (everywhere) and upper lip & face hair removal with no pain?
In terms of hair removal methods, I recommend the following:
Sugaring: Full body and upper lip
Dermaplaning: Face and upper lip
Laser Hair Removal: Any hair removal you have the budget, time, and pain threshold to afford
Tips For Less Painful Hair Removal:
Use a topical lidocaine numbing cream (I recommend Zensa Numbing Cream, which is made to use on sensitive areas like the bikini line or lips). I especially recommend using a numbing cream for laser hair removal!
In lieu of a topical lidocaine numbing cream, I would take an Advil or another ibuprofen medication as instructed before your hair removal treatment
Avoid alcohol 24-48 hours before your treatment (caffeine too, if possible), and drink plenty of water within 24 hours of your hair removal appointment
Exfoliate and moisturize your skin before & after your hair removal treatment. Don't exfoliate too soon after a hair removal appointment (how to irritate your skin 101)
Apply an ice pack or cold compress immediately after hair removal
Use aloe vera or coconut oil after a hair removal treatment to soothe the skin and reduce irritation or bumps
Avoid sun exposure before and after a hair removal treatment (timeframes depend on the type of treatment)
Don't wear tight clothes, go swimming, take hot baths, or engage in any sweaty activity immediately after a hair removal treatment
Avoid using any skincare products (or haircare you removed hair on your face) containing fragrance/perfumes on your skin for at least a few days after treatment
Don't use makeup or spray tan on your skin after hair removal
Never go to a hair removal appointment hungry, stressed, when experiencing PMS or while on your period – all of these bodily states can lower your pain tolerance and make the treatment feel worse than it otherwise would

all right u obscene fucks some of you don't have a skincare-obsessed sister and it shows
alright so anyone who shaves their no no square is going to know what im talking about so just bare with me. some of us are too broke to afford a wax (i have eight dollars in my spending account rn), so here's what ur gonna do. everyone whos shaved that area has most definitely experienced irritation, ingrowns, bumps, and itchiness. this is not good, especially for those of us with a history of sh. that alone has triggered multiple relapses for me, cus why does my body itch? and then my brain spirals from there
if its been a while since u've shaved? no worries stink i didn't use to be regular either. if its been a while and you have a bit more hair, make sure to trim the area carefully, with a sanitized pair of scissors.
dry brush the area, you can get a dry brush at target, i got mine for five dollars
gently exfoliate the area, i use a home made one w sugar, oil, and dr bronners unscented soap. i use unscented because i have keratosis pilaris, eczema, and sensitive skin. use unscented soap, not no Japanese cherry blossom ass shit from bath and body works. do you want a yeast infection? unscented is the way to go.
get clean razor, i switch mine out every month or so. i use harrys because they're marketed towards men so a closer shave w more blades. before u do anything w the razor, run it under warm water, if the pressure in your showerhead changes switch it to the highest pressure and rinse the blade to get any gunk out of there
drop the shaving cream, the conditioner, whatever u use. drop it. switch for coconut oil instead, unscented as to not irritate the area.
at first go with the direction of hair growth, stopping to rinse the razor and the area every few strokes. then go side to side, and up and down.
as soon as ur finished rinse the area with freezing water as to close/tighten the pores!!
when ur out of the shower use either after shave, or witch hazel. i like to use aqua velva after shave, it smells nice, and also marketed towards a male audience so it actually fucking works. pour a little bit on a cotton round, wash rag, or toilet paper and apply it to the area. it'll sting a little bit, but that's the tightening and toning of the area, don't worry. for those of my afab friends do not put it in there. only on the skin outside of it!! no one wants a yeast infection, or a uti, we don't do that here. (however if you do get a uti or yeast infection, boric acid suppositories at target, azo cranberry tablets and apple cider vinegar tablets. do what you will with that. miasaurus on youtube has great videos on these topics, an ex-stripper and also incredibly funny) tend skin is also a great option but really expensive, when my parents were together my mom got my bald-headed ass daddy a big thing of tend skin for his birthday.
moisturize with unscented lotion, i use cetaphil on that area and coco butter everywhere else
in the showers following ur shave down there, use a salicylic acid face wash on that area. i use cerave because i got it cheap with ulta points, i would recommend cerave because it's formulated with ceramides to keep your skin barrier healthy as well as being unscented. salicylic acid is an acne medication that also helps prevent ingrown hair and itchiness.
moisturize moisturize moisturize!
repeat as necessary friends! go fuck that person bald down there. or don't, whatever floats ur boat. if you wanna be smooth down there (cus its fucking comforting), go be smooth if you wanna!
my mom or my older sister did not teach me this, so i had to figure out what works too embarrassed to ask for help.

Hi. I hope this finds you well. Please feel free to ignore this and I apologize for bothering you with this.
Please firstly not that this is not ment in a "im so weak and whiny and boohoo speaking up so scary" kind of way.
I need genuine advice and I don't feel safe to come off anon bc I'm really ashamed for needing help or letting myself down like this..
How do you keep going when your body is begging you to stop or recharge when you feel guilty as fuck for even slowing down
why do you think it's appropriate to vent to a random stranger on the internet like this first of all. especially one that is trying to cope with a genocide against their own people right now.

soft skin 101⋆.ೃ࿔*:・✍🏽🗒️
Tumblr media
notes from my beauty binder about how i keep my skin soft and hydrated on a day to day basis…💬🎀
Tumblr media Tumblr media
EXFOLIATION ;
use exfoliating gloves to wash ur body. they're rly good cuz they scrub ur body and get rid of any dead skin that could make ur skin rough etc. if u can't reach ur back with exfoliating gloves use an african net sponge or an exfoliating loofa that can reach ur back.
LOTION FOR DRY SKIN ;
even if u dont struggle with dry skin, the lotions that companies make for dry skin is super duper thick and moisturizing and it makes you SO SO soft. something that i rly like to use is the jergens ultra healing lotion. use body butters too.
use scrubs but not every day cuz thats not good for you. most of the scrubs that i use are from tree hut and my favorites from there are…💬🎀
♡ tahitian vanilla
♡ sugar cookie shea sugar scrub
Tumblr media Tumblr media
♡ cotton candy
omg also mix in oils in ur cremes and body butters for EXTRA moisturization…💬🎀
FOR SOFT FEET AND HANDS ;
i use a salt scrub on my feet because it is a bit rougher which i prefer and it leaves my feet feeling more soft and smooth. then i use a thick moisturizer and cover my feet with socks.
for soft hands just moisturize ur hands periodly with thick hand creams and lotions. also soaking my hands in olive oil every now and then for 5 minutes helps a lot to soften my hands.

I hate when I mention I have acne and people immediately go "Oh you should buy X product" cause so many of my zits have been caused by just actions and not what creme I'm using/not using so without further ado
Here's a list of habits that may help reduce your ance for $0.
- wash your face first thing in the morning. Don't wait hours after you've woken up
-if your acne is surrounding your hairline, it might be your shampoo. Have they changed the recipe lately or did you switch shampoos?
-STOP PICKING YOUR FACE I SWEAR TO GOD THEY TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT ZITS GOING AWAY. THE HORMONAL ONES MAY PERSIST BUT THE LITTLE STUPID ONES WILL DEMINISH.
-if your acne is going around your neck and down your back, it might be your conditioner. Try rinsing it out sooner and not leaving it in as long. Maybe you could even skip it idk.
-if you're grease training your hair, your skin might not be a fan. I can't do grease training but you might have to power thru this one.
-after you exercise or sweat a bunch at least rinse your face and acne areas with water if you can't shower. Don't wait again.
-if you have zits on the bridge of your nose and on your cheeks, it might be from sunglasses or glasses. Disinfect the frames often.
-switch pillowcases more than you think you need to. Like weekly.
-same with Towels you use to dry and clean your face
-sometimes scrubbing your face too often can cause acne. You don't need to exfoliate often. Or ever sometimes. Depends on the person.
-wash hats and other fabrics that touch your face
-wear breathable clothes where you have acne.
-if you have acne between and under your boobs, and down your back it might be sports bra related. Wash those after every use. (Pads don't have to be washed as often)
-wash your bras more often than normal. But don't wash them as frequently as sports bras. They won't last as long.
-for washing your back get a scrub stick. It's hard to reach all the areas with your hand.
-bumps on your arms can be diminished by moisturizing with normal lotion.
-also most people don't need to moisturize as often as it's talked about.
-some zits are actually infected hairs. Especially if they're in odd areas where acne doesn't normally occur (for me it's the pubic region) these can be plucked and they go away.
-clean your earbuds. Have you had an ear zit? They're gross and painful.
-if you have acne in odd areas that's all over your body, ask if you switched laundry detergent recently? A lot of people I know are sensitive to certain laundry brands.
-never pick your zits with dirty hands and gross fingernails. That shit will get infected so readily.
-also forreal don't pop zits on the lip they take so long to heal and they naturally go away a lot faster.
-if you eat a very greasy meal, wipe your mouth well and rinse it after you're done. And wash your hands well.
-I stopped using concealer cause there's a lot of oil in it naturally, and It made me breakout more.
-if you have a wave of acne, look at where you are on your menstrual cycle and see if it's ovulation or period time. Usually that's when I get breakouts.
Thats all I can think of. I hope I can help anyone else. I've been better about not picking but stopping it before it starts is the best tool. Love you muah❤️💋
