Marshall and Nicolas celebrate their 6 month anniversary. It doesn't go without a hitch but in the end they're just happy to be with each other.

Slowly the days became longer again. Some evenings Marshall glanced out the window and was surprised that the sun was still shining. Tonight they might even catch a few rays at the lake house, the rippling water gleamed downright mystical when the last light hit its surface. Granted of course that the roads weren’t too congested and they got up there quickly.

Marshall peered out the front window of his car. In the small street stood a small house that clung to the neighboring houses and all the colors were a shade of gray regardless of the warm evening sun. One window was illuminated, a figure stood looking out onto the street, perhaps watching Marshall’s car. The house’s entrance receded into a niche, just a few steps were visible in the shadows and somehow Marshall just knew how they ended in an ordinary door at the top, slightly worn. A familiar feeling he couldn’t quite place. Nicolas sat on the bottom steps. When he recognized Marshall’s car, he came over. A thick jacket with a fur rim on the hood worn over a black t-shirt and his dog tags sparkled in the sunlight, his usual cargo pants in a dark olive tone were tucked into heavy boots.

Inadvertently Marshall smiled proudly as his eyes drank in the sight of his boyfriend. This clearly his favorite outfit for private outings, perhaps purposefully chosen. The clothes weren’t anything flashy and yet they perfectly showed off all the features Nicolas’s body offered: square shoulders, muscular chest, big hands and stocky legs. The patented mean smirk was fixed on his face as he got into the car. The messenger bag hung from his shoulder and was quickly stuffed into the footwell, but in his hand Nicolas held a second bag. I have a question about the jp server pickups, since I really want knight Sebek, but I’m trying to save gems for bloom malleus + the 3rd tsum event that’s gonna show up sooner or later. Iirc, after knight Sebek, the next story update’s pickup had all of the previous story cards (ie cerberus Ortho, general Lilia, and knight Sebek). Is this true, and if it is, did it include a token system like the dorm pickups where you can just do 100 pulls and then buy the specific card you want directly? Because if that is how it works, then I can wait until then and be sure I won’t have to go to 200 for him.

we did indeed get a second chance at those three when 7-7 came out! I'm pretty sure there was not a token system -- though admittedly I don't 100% remember, sorry! 🙇 I took a quick search through some past posts/videos from people who tend to include the gacha and news stuff, but I didn't see any mention of it, so I'm inclined to think there really wasn't one. :( they were all separate pickups with their own pull counts rather than a combined one, if that info helps at all.

speaking as a strict f2p who hoards keys/gems like the lovechild of a dragon and a magpie, given the choice between saving for a story card and a birthday card, I'd go for story -- it does require a lot of patience, but there are way more opportunities to get past birthday cards, both from the anniversary events and the rerun pickups! tsums is a bit harder to say anything on because Eng doesn't follow the same event schedule, but it's a longish event and those pickups let you have a free 10-roll, so I think they're also a bit easier to save up for.

(ALSO speaking of free rolls, starting with the fifth round of birthdays -- the kutsurogi my room ones -- the birthday boy/union jacket/bloom cards have had a separate pickup that you can get two free 10-pulls at by doing missions! I got a bloom Jade from it a couple weeks ago. :D meanwhile general Lilia is the only story card I've ever managed to pull, so...I'm probably kinda biased. whoops.)

HAPPY 10th ANNIVERSARY BIG HERO 6

It's amazing that it's been a decade since this great movie. I know that by Disney's standards it's not the most perfect movie, but it marked a very important space for me...the characters, the moments, its message.

Thank you Big Hero 6, for providing good memories and still being my favorite movie today ❤️

Jason: Steph's favorite hero is the Green Arrow and since she's dating me I put my logo on it. It's my size because she loves stealing my hoodies. Might as well get one for her while masquerading it as mine.

consider: porter meets jace's family. would it be a mess or would porter flex the "paladin IS a charisma caster" so much that jace is like WHO are you

ohhh my god. those three levels of paladin are really pulling the weight here. okay okay this is my first time posting about jace's family in like. a relatively canon au so now i have to decide things.

ik i'm in the minority here but i feel like he actually has a pretty normal family? (normal being subjective of course) but i think he has a high elven mother, human or maybe half-elf father. i was pretty dead set on divine soul jace for a minute at the beginning but now i'm partial to wild magic sorcerer so i think he maybe got that from one of his parents and the other is a ranger. maybe elven ranger mom and wild magic sorcerer dad.

he's definitely an only child to me, so his parents were pretty doting, and it's a huge deal whenever he starts seeing anyone because they want to make sure the person is treating their baby right. when jace is in his 20s, he has a pattern of bringing people home to meet his parents and then, anywhere from a week to a year later, coming to them crying about how it didn't work out or he got tired of them or they got tired of him. and then there's a long stretch of time where they don't hear anything about jace's prospective partners.

so then, when he finally brings porter up to them, they're like. oh?? our boy has finally (maybe) settled down?? and he's like. you Cannot embarrass me okay. i Mean It. and they're like. well. we're going to embarrass you we're your parents.

and porter doesn't really know how to feel. he's met some partners' parents in the past, but not many, and most of them turned their noses up when they found out he was a goliath or a barbarian. so he's kind of on edge actually. and jace simultaneously is trying to comfort him being like no it's fine they're nice i swear and freaking out because he's like i haven't brought anyone home in over a decade they know this is a Big Thing i really need this to go well for everyone involved.

but it actually ends up being...okay?? they set up in the backyard so porter doesn't have to awkwardly make himself fit into their (modest, but not exceedingly large) house, and he brings them a nice bottle of wine that zara recommended and flowers and he is charming, so much so that it does throw jace a little, but it's not even that he's turning it up for jace's parents--he just genuinely is that charismatic when he's not being a dick. and he knows jace wants this to go well--and so does he, okay, he has feelings, too, sue him--so he does his best to be nice. but it's not even that hard, in the end; he bonds with jace's mom over her explorations into the mountains of chaos and only slightly humiliates jace with stories of his surges that his parents then proceed to top with talking about his surges during puberty.

as jace is saying goodbye to his parents that night, they both give him little thumbs up and are like you picked a good one. and jace flushes and goes off to the car as porter comes out of the bathroom, and jace's dad is like so. cliffbreaker. i expect to see a ring on that finger next time you two visit. and porter chuckles a little and nods and says, i'll do my best, sir, and heads out to the car where jace is wine-loose and smiley, and he reaches over to pull porter in for a kiss as he gets in the car and murmurs i love you against his lips and porter grins and kisses him harder before pulling out of the driveway so that he can show jace just how much he means it when he says i love you, too.
