Gonna bundle these two questions! (ALSO SPICY AT THE BOTTOM)
Sakura had one 'relationship' and that was/is with Aren Uzumaki.
Some backstory:
On their way back from Chiyo's, Saeko, Enji and Sakura were unable to port back in Tea Country- as the civil war came into full effect, and an embargo was placed on all the major ports in an attempt to cripple trade/starve out the big trading cities/ take control of the capital (which was on the coast).
For a few weeks, Sakura and Co. were prisoners on an enemy ship that captured the previous Daimyo's niece, Unami (now heir apparent, given that the rest of her family was murdered).
On their way towards the capital (for a nice public execution), they were boarded by famed Pirate Captain/Smuggler Aren Uzumaki of The Last Sparrow- who took them aboard along with the rest of the spoils.
As the enemy closed all the ports, Sakura realized they would never make it to land for the foreseeable future and offered her services as a healer for the duration of the war in exchange for Saeko, Enji's, and Unami's safety.
Furthermore, Enji helped Unami cut a deal with Aren, in which he was promised legitimacy and exclusive trading contracts with the South under her future rule. Thus, the Last Sparrow became the Command Center for the Civil War for the next eight months.
During that time, Sakura healed, fought, and hassled Aren into teaching her basic strategy, war, and bureaucracy - something the Captain (and Unami) realized she had a good head for. (Sakura would later serve as Unami's consul after the war).
As for Aren, he is extremely intelligent, shrewd, and a powerful fuinjutsu specialist. He's a respected captain and only chose the pirate/smuggler life after the decimation of the Uzumaki clan. When Konoha didn't come to their aid in time during the third war, Aren swore never to be beholden to a shinobi village and took to the seas, denouncing shinobi-hood.
Sakura approached Aren and asked to spend the night with him on the eve of the last battle, and had an on-again, off-again relationship after the war. Aren's first love was the sea, and Sakura never wanted to be second (or third) place in anyone's life ever again, so while they aren't in any official relationship, they do find themselves in each other's arms when they cross paths. (fun fact, Aren calls Sakura 'Wildflower')
When Kankuro was poisoned, The Last Sparrow (legal now!!!) had fortuitously docked at one of Fire Country's port cities. So they could take that to Suna and cut a week off their travel time.
Kakashi was surprised to see that Aren and Sakura knew each other.
He was very unpleasantly surprised to see HOW well they knew each other. He spent a full week seething- as he watched some sleazy Icha-icha knock-off pirate Lothario take advantage of Sakura.
Once again, thank you so much for the lovely words and all the support for this AU!
SPICY UNDER CUT.

What's ur skincare routine?
I'd say a splash of cold water and a cover-up usually does the trick.

I'm going to say something some of my fellow Tobirama fans are not going to like but I'm going to say it anyway:
Karin's 👏 sensing 👏 abilities 👏 are 👏 far 👏 more 👏 advanced 👏 than 👏 Tobirama's! 👏👏
Tobirama has to mould chakra to actively sense, and when he does, he can only detect the number of chakra signatures within a certain parameter.
Karin is the one who can sense completely unconsciously, and detect the size, reserves and potency of someone's chakra, as well as tell the feelings of a person to some extent.
Maybe Tobirama's sensing abilities were the best in his times, that's perfectly possible, but by the time Karin is born, she has surpassed him. And you know what? Good for her!!!
Please stop making Tobirama some kind of all-knowing empath, not even Karin can tell the exact feelings of someone just from reading their chakra. You're making him boring; he's already ridiculously powerful as it is, put some damn limits on his abilities, for fuck's sake. 🙄

kishimoto might have been a mostly bad writer but he kinda went off with Breaking The Cycle as an overarching theme of the whole series
#naruto#the cycle of war and revenge that the shinobi world is trapped in from the small conflicts like chiyo’s instant hatred of kakashi for his#dad killing her kid to nagato’s whole character arc about war hurting him so and leading him to greater acts of violence#the tsuchikage and the old kages being cold military leaders at the beginning and then learning to set aside decades old grudges to look to#the future instead.#SASUKE’S WHOLE CHARACTER. GOD. need i say more.#yes i will. sasuke beginning his character arc as an avenger who will continue the cycle of violence by killing his brother. and then#turning his hatred on danzo and konoha once he sees his brother as a victim. he is naruto’s direct foil as naruto forgives everyone who’s#ever hurt him because he so desperately wants to end the cycle of hatred borne from war (JIRAIYA’S DREAM. DONT LOOK AT ME)#don’t even get me fucking STARTED on indra and asura and the uchihas and the senju and madara and hashirama.#two brothers who fought and their descendents and incarnations are fated to be locked in conflict. an endless cycle of war and violence#between yin and yang sun and moon. and because kishimoto went OFF with VOTE2 symbolism:#hashirama and madara coming so close to ending that cycle but in the end they fought to the death and their statues are built across the#waterfall from each other (the way they had been across the river from each other as kids) doing the hand sign for the beginning of kumite#and sasuke and naruto starting VOTE2 across from each other the way hashirama and madara were and ending the fight in the middle of the#river on top of the broken off hands of the statues performing the seal of reconciliation at the end of a kumite signalling the end of the#cycle of fate they were trapped in.#SOMETHIGN SOMETHING WE ARE TRAPPED IN MEANINGS THAT CIRCULATE LIKE BLOOD FR…………#ALSO the bijuu and humans being trapped in the cycle of hate and fear of each other. yeah. kishimoto really went off with The Themes here#nart.txt

I finally went for the Shura ending aka The Evil Ending and I LOVE it.
Usually I find evil routes in video games pointless, because I'm a huge softy who refuses to even pick mean dialogue options most of the time. But this? This was so. satisfying.
It feels so wrong having to fight Emma and Grandpa Isshin, since they are both so immensely lovable and I swear they made Emma's death particularly violent to make me feel appropriately like a monster, but ... it's all worth it for the stupid look on Owl's face as Wolf backstabs him, killing him in exactly the same manner that Owl originally killed Wolf at Hirata estate.
And the best part? The moment Wolf stabs Owl, cutting him off mid-sentence during his gloating, is when Owl is saying his true name.
Like all other shinobi in this game, Owl gave up his name, his clan, his past to become a shinobi, a tool, taking the name of an animal instead.
When you eavesdrop on the people Owl betrayed the Hirata clan to, they dismiss him as a "nameless shinobi". For all his skill and cunning, Owl was a nobody in the eyes of society. Even a brutish, drunk bandit leader considered Owl to be beneath him.
This moment was Owl reclaiming his name. He was going to make himself a lord.
And that's when he gets stabbed.
This ending is beautiful. It's so satisfying.
And it's suitably creepy. The way the only time we see the stoic Wolf smile in this game is after he's killed Emma to indicate how he's snapped.
Then there's the way Wolf does not speak a single word once he has agreed to obey Owl, not when being confronted by Emma or Isshin or when Owl returns to gloat after Wolf has seemingly done his dirty work.
He says not a single word as he kills his father.
The way the soundtrack stops the moment he skewers Owl (not just the music, but the crackling of the fire as well and the only remaining sound is the sound of the blade cutting through flesh and the groan).
The way Wolf mutely stares into the flames as Kuro cries for him, the same flames that have been haunting the Sculptor's every waking moment.
But the other beautiful thing about this scene is that it's all Owl's own fault.
He did this.
He purposefully raised a killer.
If you go for any other route, Owl mocks Wolf for showing compassion.
Owl broke this man and he didn't realise what it was that he created until it turned on him.
I enjoy all the ways in which you can deal with Owl in this game, but Shura is the most satisfying to me, simply due to the amount of Dramatic Irony mixed with the horror.
10/10, would doom all of Japan again just to put that look of abject horror on Owl's face again:

I was curious and I don't know if you've said any where, but why do you call your civillian Sakura au Coven!sakura?
It was because I wanted Sakura to go for a more witchy/healer vibe as a counterpart to the canon doctor/medic- I mentioned in an earlier post that Saeko was once part of a mermaid coven (covens being almost pregenitors of clans as we know them), but since giving away her pearl, was outed from the coven and forced to wander the earth- so I eventually had her and Sakura become a coven together (first human matriarch in ages!!!), in which they become bound by blood and chakra as family.
Being in a coven is like being in a clan, but with extra benefits (and costs)
Also because Sakura's civilian status doesn't really describe the vibes of the AU as well as Coven does (in my head). Hope that answer that! It's very convoluted and silly!!
