Gonna bundle these two questions! (ALSO SPICY AT THE BOTTOM)
Sakura had one 'relationship' and that was/is with Aren Uzumaki.
Some backstory:
On their way back from Chiyo's, Saeko, Enji and Sakura were unable to port back in Tea Country- as the civil war came into full effect, and an embargo was placed on all the major ports in an attempt to cripple trade/starve out the big trading cities/ take control of the capital (which was on the coast).
For a few weeks, Sakura and Co. were prisoners on an enemy ship that captured the previous Daimyo's niece, Unami (now heir apparent, given that the rest of her family was murdered).
On their way towards the capital (for a nice public execution), they were boarded by famed Pirate Captain/Smuggler Aren Uzumaki of The Last Sparrow- who took them aboard along with the rest of the spoils.
As the enemy closed all the ports, Sakura realized they would never make it to land for the foreseeable future and offered her services as a healer for the duration of the war in exchange for Saeko, Enji's, and Unami's safety.
Furthermore, Enji helped Unami cut a deal with Aren, in which he was promised legitimacy and exclusive trading contracts with the South under her future rule. Thus, the Last Sparrow became the Command Center for the Civil War for the next eight months.
During that time, Sakura healed, fought, and hassled Aren into teaching her basic strategy, war, and bureaucracy - something the Captain (and Unami) realized she had a good head for. (Sakura would later serve as Unami's consul after the war).
As for Aren, he is extremely intelligent, shrewd, and a powerful fuinjutsu specialist. He's a respected captain and only chose the pirate/smuggler life after the decimation of the Uzumaki clan. When Konoha didn't come to their aid in time during the third war, Aren swore never to be beholden to a shinobi village and took to the seas, denouncing shinobi-hood.
Sakura approached Aren and asked to spend the night with him on the eve of the last battle, and had an on-again, off-again relationship after the war. Aren's first love was the sea, and Sakura never wanted to be second (or third) place in anyone's life ever again, so while they aren't in any official relationship, they do find themselves in each other's arms when they cross paths.
(fun fact, Aren calls Sakura 'Wildflower')
When Kankuro was poisoned, The Last Sparrow (legal now!!!) had fortuitously docked at one of Fire Country's port cities. So they could take that to Suna and cut a week off their travel time.
Kakashi was surprised to see that Aren and Sakura knew each other.
He was very unpleasantly surprised to see HOW well they knew each other. He spent a full week seething- as he watched some sleazy Icha-icha knock-off pirate Lothario take advantage of Sakura.
Once again, thank you so much for the lovely words and all the support for this AU!
SPICY UNDER CUT.

I'm going to say something some of my fellow Tobirama fans are not going to like but I'm going to say it anyway:
Karin's 👏 sensing 👏 abilities 👏 are 👏 far 👏 more 👏 advanced 👏 than 👏 Tobirama's! 👏👏
Tobirama has to mould chakra to actively sense, and when he does, he can only detect the number of chakra signatures within a certain parameter.
Karin is the one who can sense completely unconsciously, and detect the size, reserves and potency of someone's chakra, as well as tell the feelings of a person to some extent.
Maybe Tobirama's sensing abilities were the best in his times, that's perfectly possible, but by the time Karin is born, she has surpassed him. And you know what? Good for her!!!
Please stop making Tobirama some kind of all-knowing empath, not even Karin can tell the exact feelings of someone just from reading their chakra. You're making him boring; he's already ridiculously powerful as it is, put some damn limits on his abilities, for fuck's sake. 🙄

I was curious and I don't know if you've said any where, but why do you call your civillian Sakura au Coven!sakura?
It was because I wanted Sakura to go for a more witchy/healer vibe as a counterpart to the canon doctor/medic- I mentioned in an earlier post that Saeko was once part of a mermaid coven (covens being almost pregenitors of clans as we know them), but since giving away her pearl, was outed from the coven and forced to wander the earth- so I eventually had her and Sakura become a coven together (first human matriarch in ages!!!), in which they become bound by blood and chakra as family.
Being in a coven is like being in a clan, but with extra benefits (and costs)
Also because Sakura's civilian status doesn't really describe the vibes of the AU as well as Coven does (in my head).
Hope that answer that! It's very convoluted and silly!!

always chasing after something. intangible, unattainable. a feeling of home. of worth. of meaning.
running, forever, in the direction one might best describe as "forward," though there is little indication whether that remains an accurate assessment.
it's directionless, really. no true endpoint, no destination. no goal other than to do something else. be somewhere else. become someone else.
one mask and then another, a shiny new personality until the next one.
subject 48 kinoe tenzo kohai cat yamato sensei.
maybe someone else, eventually. maybe no one at all. a shadow, an afterthought, a blurred memory of a person you once met, but whose face and name sort of escape you even as you recall the warm, calloused palm that gripped yours in greeting.
a wooden mask with interchangeable features, big eyes and a curved mouth, and a nose that is perhaps a bit too small. tenzo stares at his hands as yamato winds the cloth around them to staunch the bleeding, the crimson freshly drawn from a thousand infinitesimal cuts, all from wood fragments. splinters.
parts of himself, of his stolen cells, which burrow into his flesh each time he uses mokuton. they spray around him, leaving countless knicks and divots in their wake--palms and forearms permanently crisscrossed with them. there's even a small scar beneath his right eyebrow from a wood fragment that nearly pierced his eye once.
he studies it often in his reflection, trying to remember if he was kinoe, then, or tenzo. was his hair longer? had he met kakashi-senpai, yet?
yamato doesn't remember.
the years all bleed together, barely discernible, though that may only be because he is unwilling to examine any part of his life too closely. afraid if he does, he may not appreciate what he finds, what he brings back; which memories might be dredged from the murky bottom of his mind.
let them stay there. let them sink, heavy, into the silt so he can forget them.
subject 48 kinoe tenzo kohai cat yamato sensei.
each existence forced upon him in some way and he has tried to make the best of what he's given, but there are some things he still cannot face. the way he's been used as a weapon, his power harnessed to harm those he wishes, still, he might have protected.
what name could he give the monster he has been? none of those he's worn before seem to fit it.
perhaps it must be just that. monster. murderer. maybe that's what has always been there, waiting for him to recognize it. give it a title. since the tube, since he stole a dead boy's name so he could pretend he came from something good and loving and kind instead of sterile and indifferent.
awash in eerie green light, the blood of those who didn't survive their incubation.
he curls his injured hand into a fist, focuses on the sting of the cuts as they split open again. his palm will be sticky with blood by the time he arrives home, but he will disinfect the cuts, won't even jump at the sting of the antiseptic because he has done it so many times before, because it is still so much easier than tearing himself apart from within to create something that should be impossible--a thing equal parts deadly and beautiful.
none of it his own. not his abilities or his name or his place in this world.
subject 48 kinoe tenzo kohai cat yamato sensei monster.
he doesn't like to think of what other names and titles he might yet bear. refuses to consider there is so much road left ahead of him.
