found my 3ds~~ let’s go~~~

man~~~ I forgot how kind of frutiger aero the 3ds was~~~

found my 3ds again and booted it up for the first time in a bit~~ hope the control pad thing doesn’t continually get stuck like it had a bit ago, cause that would make it unplayable I’d imagine.

Somehow got it to stop sticking and hope it stays that way. Maybe dust got under there? Idk.

started new leaf over again; and I hope I can play it more consistently than I had been, cause I play a day then I guess forget about it and then restart again.

rip any town in new leaf, lol.

should play it more cause I think some people said the house upgrades and stuff are better than new horizons?

reset for town layout, named it peachy, lol. A 1/5 chance my native was peaches and it was~~ lol.

are the town layouts also as predictable as new horizons island maps are?

Was soooooo happy with this phase 1 which is what made it so much funnier that I was immediately clapped by his phase 2 😂

#romina is still my fave boss but messmer is a solid second #almost every other boss I would describe as “would’ve been good if their damage wasn’t so overtuned”#my stance if that if I’m consistently losing to a boss with 10/14 flasks left the damage is overtuned #vs me losing to sword saint isshin with no gourds or pellets left bc he was tough enough to whittle me down #fromsoft bros will say get good but think high numbers is big difficulty #an actually difficult boss doesn’t need big damage output if the mechanics are the challenge #I don’t actually mind how relentless the bosses are in ER but I mind how HARD they hit on top of that #dodging a 12 hit uninterruptible combo where each move does like 1/10th of your health? that’s fine.#if I properly time 3 of those dodges I can still make it and it’s honestly my bad if I’m getting killed by that #dodging a 12 hit uninterruptible combo where each hit takes out 1/2 of ur health bar & has a 50% chance for an additional retaliation combo?#I *can* do it but Jesus Christ what a waste of my time lmao #how am I supposed to learn a boss when I can’t get into a flow state bc a single mistake can end a run smh #I just beat gaius and I didn’t even feel accomplished I was just like ugh finally #I feel like 95% of his moves are fine once you work out the delays and positioning #but I kept getting clipped by his charge attack like I would dodge out of the way but once the i frames were finished I’d still get hit #bc I guess I wasn’t dodging a perfect 90 degrees to him and the hitbox for that attack is long as hell #which would be whatever if that move didn’t take out like 2/3 of my health and come out nigh instantly #I don’t even really know the tell for the move bc I beat him before I learned it bc I lucked out on a run where he didn’t charge me a lot #luckily the game is absolute DELIGHT to look at and explore that I can forgive the absolute bullshittery of the bosses #like I just got to the summit of dragon peak and I’m blown away by the design of that mountain #if we’re talking verisimilitude in games how about that whole shebang #no obvious well worn path up to the top of the mountain bc it’s just for dragons who’s gonna be walking up there?#having the player follow a trail of increasingly dense dragon corpses is SUCH a great tone setter #which means I’m probably going to hate bayle but whatever I’m already invested let’s gooooo #tsuchi plays games

auhhghghhhh aurfhghghghggggggghbghhhhhh no i don’t have time to get emotional right now i’ve already stayed up too late but MAN. man. i don’t have the words right now to describe what i feel when i think about it and the entirety of area zero. it completely fried my brain. just trust me on this i can normally be more coherent but auhhhhhhhh

#see like #between the two games both of which decimated me #i think pla as a whole is a stronger game #but sv’s ending alone is better than any individual isolated moment in pla #if that makes sense #like they concentrated an entire game’s worth of Good mostly into the last part of it #but that last part alone is so good it saves literally everything. entire journey worth it #like pla is consistently S tier throughout. sv is like B tier normally but area zero alone is S++++#i am so obsessed with both games #i don’t care if sv is objectively unpolished and unfinished. it exploded my brain and that is what matters #i will ALWAYS love it #i actually have more hours in a single file of that game than any single file of ANY video game i’ve ever played #like multiple files of the same game combined there’s more #but i got so into it that i never even made a second file i never even got bored of the first one #like 450+ hours #if that isn’t a sign of a good game idk what is. a good game makes you wanna play it. enough said #pokémon #sv #asks #thanks anon

Today I:

-took the bus for the first time since moving back. I 💜 public transit!

-got my ass out of the house and had a chill yet still v productive work session at a library

-went back to the yuzu beer brewery and fucking kicked ass on Mars, which is my favorite table ever and I haven’t played her regularly since 2019 but apparently I’ve still got it babey! it’s soo nice to have her back in my life. I earned myself a replay and then Jules and I got a replay on a joint game + we got a match sooo we got 3 games for free!!!

#personal #good things #food #alcohol #pinball #the fact that the place closest to us here with pinball has mars #is so fucking amazing #having some spectacular balls really made my day #(had some abysmal ones too but those don’t stick in my mind as much lol)#really don’t know how we do it and I highly doubt most ppl have this experience but our spousal mind meld makes us incredible at dual games #when we each play a flipper we consistently score better than when we play solo games it’s so strange hahaha #I can’t buy beer and play pinball every time I go to the library #but that double combo is a delight to have in the rotation #to show to Jules

Watching some D&D campaigns rn and they’re good they’re great fab characters… but it’s just not Dimension 20, truly the greatest role playing series I’ve ever seen, it’s so easy for the players to become the characters, and they break character all the time but you can Telll when they are acting, at no point, even in the most serious of situations, does it feel like they’re trying to be serious and ‘play’ these characters, they simply become them and that has spoiled me for all other role play series

#dimension 20 #it’s not just the voices they do #a lot of the time they even keep they’re own voices but you can just telll when they are them and when they are someone else #the fact Brennan is clearly not reading from a script or strictly planned game play but simply going with the flow in such a beautiful way #is what I think allows all the rest of the magic to happen #and the scenes are set so clearly and the world they are in the goals they have so clearly set that the characters themselves drive the stor #y #a lot of the others I’ve seen the dm is obviously stearing the ship and poking the characters in the right direction #some I’ve seen the players stay serious and in character the entire time like that will make the show a serious production #my dude we would have watched a tv show if we wanted this we can SEE YOU you are clearly not a goblin make a dick joke now and again #the minnies definitely help with picturing the world and most productions don’t have that kinda money #but even when they were on video call with eachother I could picture where they were and what they were doing and what they were going to do #their characters are so predictable because they are so consistent

nothing to me will ever be more iconic than my beloved mutual managing to get me so invested in a (rarepair) ship for a media i had no previous interaction with that i was actively making my own headcanons abt their potential relationship dynamic and making song associations and engaging in others’ brainrot for months before i ever even considered getting in to said media. and now a year later i’m finally writing fic for them but still know next to nothing abt what they’re like in canon cause i still haven’t made it to that part of the story, the memories of the shared delusion are genuinely the only thing keeping me going.

IN the genshin fandom #i play the game (now. entire months after i first was introduced to the ship) and i like characters and find the story intriguing but #my love for ylne transcends all that and the vision is both v simple and v insane & only my 3 twt mutuals bar poppy Get it #but also its really funny one of them isnt a playable character and probably never will be and he’s got like. a few mentions and #there is literally only one image of him out there (2 but the second was part of leaks drama). but im attached to his nonexistent wife #who he’s cheating on. the hannigram brainrot was easy to transfer across because they feel so similar but somehow even w/o cannibalism #they’re Worse and they’ve taken up permanent residence in my mind #and yes i’m only thinking abt all this as a way of procrastinating writing said fic its soso hard trying to do them justice 😔#i think its genuinely become a pattern where i will write things that are So divorced from their original media and honestly. what a slay #faera's

#I just realized that I have not provided an update about the Boy recently #we’ve been talking pretty consistently since the date(?) and that’s been good?#he’s made no romantic overtures or anything which I suppose could be because he’s waiting until I’m not in another country #which is perfectly fine with me #I just don’t know if I like him or not or if he’s just easy to talk to or if I’m trying to delude myself into thinking I like him because I #want a boyfriend or if I’m being really really silly and just need to stop freaking out!#like I prayed about this boy and then he asked me out like I feel like that makes it pretty obvious I should at least see where this goes #but I’m scared 😅#also did I mention that we became friends as kids because of professor Layton? no joke #I was playing unwound future and he came up and introduced himself and asked what I was playing and we played right up to the end of it #together—and then when I saw him again I didn’t figure he’d remember (I was nine and he was eight) but he ended up going ‘hey you remember #that game we played together as kids? professor Layton? did you hear it’s getting a sequel?’#like not only did he remember that but he remembered the game BY NAME and even remembered one specific puzzle we were stuck on for ages #(it’s that one elevator puzzle near the end if any of you were curious)#anyway he’s trying to convince me to play hollow knight and I will attempt to oblige (although this is not my normal style of game lol)

tbh every time new news about streaming and cloud gaming stuff comes up i’m given more reasons as to why i try to own games and media physically whenever possible. why sell organs on the black market to get my pc to run a game that can be taken away from me when i can just. buy a copy that i can whip out anytime.

indie games are the only ones i trust taking up space on my pc steam will only be a safe space for so long-

#also why i don’t use my pc much #the biggest issue with pc gaming is unless you have a 10/10 one or can consistently update it you don’t get far #my pc hates running shit above a certain gig limit #and i’m sorry but it’s not worth spending an arm and a leg for another pc to play one game #plus i don’t have that security #steam’s great and all but i don’t trust keeping game storage on any cloud #indie games tend to not take up much space so when i download them i can easily keep them #everyone has their preferences but you better prepare to have something to burn digital things on #because companies are making it clear you don’t actually own the things you have #shantien rambles

#I love that you can see me back off to dodge his grab before I’m like oh wait I can just bonk him lol #thank you radagon for being the only boss I could see myself doing hitless #except my dodge rate for his stomp/poke combo is like 5%#so it’s only feasible if he doesn’t do that move…#oh and the “nothing personnel kid” teleport and fast smash can also suck it #him the crucible knights and the bell bearing hunter are the only enemies I’ve learned to consistently parry in ER 😮‍💨#I tried learning malenia’s parries but her damage is so overtuned it str8 up was not worth the risk and effort 🥴#radagon definitely isn’t the most fun boss in Elden ring but I think he’s like the most fair out of every single one #which is why it’s gr8 that all my goodwill gets toss out the window with Elden beast 🥴#I had one moment where he did Elden stars chase attack the triple closing rings and then sword swipes #and got absolutely annihilated bc I could not dodge all 3 attacks at once #like attack RNG has always been part of the difficulty in these games but with my limited knowledge this is the first one where #(( outside of gank fights ))#the RNG difficulty slider goes from manageable all the way to full health to death #had one round with malenia where she used waterfowl blade SIX TIMES and I only managed to survive bc I was playing around with a mage build #and was letting bby tiche do most of the damage while I pulled aggro from far away enough that I could dodge WFB comfortably #can you tell I’ve only ever done double godskins with both NPC summons and tears #I’ve heard enough about that fights bullshit that I straight up trivialize it every time I get it to it #Elden ring truly is the most difficult and easiest fromsoft game to date… dialectic 🥳#excited to see how they balance things in the DLC bc honestly outside of WFB malenia really is a fun boss #I don’t mind that her normal attacks are so punishing bc dodging around them or knocking her out of certain attacks feels gr8 #so if bosses are malenia level TUNED without WFB level BULLSHIT I can see myself getting really into it 🥳#tsuchi plays games
