“Now, when I cook, it is after I have read Rebecca May Johnson’s Small Fires, which teaches me to focus on my gestures. I avoid the need to text her every time I am moved by how she recalls action. Instead, I slice a malta orange. I watch my hand dip into the cut-glass box with chaat masala I stole from my mother and watch the masala emerge, tucked into a small steel spoon. I watch myself take the cluster off a head of garlic, I watch myself heat butter and mix honey in with it to put on toast. I watch myself. 
In these gestures, a new person emerges, a person that understands sensory preferences, who can witness herself move. I have never known this person. I like her. I tell her about how I always thought that pleasure belonged to someone else.”

Helps balance oil production in skin:

Making sure we get enough nutrients is one of the best skin-care actions we can take.
Vitamin A and C help with brightening and healing. Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant and reduces inflammation. Zinc is vital for balancing oil levels.

Lol you can’t read the treadmill, but overall did almost 17k steps for the whole day. Steamed egg with spinach, mushroom, and green onion on top of quinoa for a high protein, gut-healthy breakfast. Old fashioned oatmeal with cinnamon, vanilla extract, chopped almonds, flaxseed, pumpkin seeds, and blueberries. Meal prepped sautéed bok choy, tofu, and shiitake mushrooms topped with hemp hearts and a side of quinoa for extra protein.

Decreasing is essential to life. The moon waxes and wanes. It increases to a full moon and decreases to a new moon, completely hidden from sight.
Throughout life, there are times when decreasing is inevitable. You may have less money, lose someone you love, or even need to control your emotions. Regardless, learning to balance while faithfully being yourself will lead to happiness.
Humans naturally crave community and belonging. We want to help each other, but this kind of help can only be useful if you don't lose yourself.
Sadly, some people don't want help or may abuse the help you offer them. But how are you supposed to tell?
You need to observe and watch what they care for. What does a person spend most of their time paying attention to? This will give you insight into what a person really loves and can tell you whether it's someone worth helping or not.
As I like to say, don't plant your seeds in dead soil. Every fruit has limited seeds; if planted in the wrong soil, it'll never grow and bear fruit.
