The crew of Impulse - headcanon futures
For my headcanon reboot.
As previously suggested by another (can't recall name), Bart as a videogame developer could be awesome. He'd do better to work alone (at superspeed). Max could front him the cash and he'd publish his games to Steam (or whatever the DC equivalent it). I know he was a console guy back when, but that was the 90s and timeslide changes things and PC games are easier for indie distribution and ownership. He won't be making pay-to-play. He won't be making casual games. Or city-builders, either (a shame, I like them). He'll make what he likes and they'll be popular and he'll make a lot of money.
Carol will marry Bart and go to a very highly ranked college (maybe Rice - Bart doesn't like snow). She'll become a scientist. Her siblings may find out Bart is Impulse because he sucks at hiding it.
Preston will be putting his and Wade's films on Youtube. Marla Bloom (of Blue Devil comics - her story goes differently than canon) will see them and give him and Wade the same opportunity that Verner gave her. He won't be the next Spielberg, but he will be very successful.
Wade is covered above with Preston.
Rolly may become a weather man. Kind of a in-joke Rolly always wanted to be popular and because I live in Alabama and back in the days this comic was being published, folks in my area loved their weatherman. He can probably go to UAB because it's close enough to commute to, and that's financially responsible and because I think of Manchester's university not being as good as UAB.
Eddie needs to go straight and become less angry. Good influence from Rolly. Don't know that I see him going to college (especially given the less-than-impressive academic record he currently has). Maybe he can learn a trade and make good money anyway.
Mike is a bit less fleshed out to me. His dad should be making quite good money, so he'll likely want the same lifestyle. He could probably manage in sales, if commission based. Of course, he could go to college, too, it's just that I already have a disproportionate number doing so. Admittedly, that was before I decided Preston and Wade went apprentice route, so not so applicable now. I do plan on Matt and Helen marrying, by the way.
Ayana is even less developed than Mike and I run into the same issue of whether or not send her to college. I plan for her to stay in the Birmingham metro.
White Lightning can "apprentice" to the Trickster. I really thought those two made a great team-up (I prefer her earlier incarnation - no powers and stealing novelty checks to embarrass daddy). She's absolutely brilliant as stirring up publicity (at least among the teen set) and would do well in advertising if she could not get a criminal record. If Kon's still trying to promote products, he could do worse than hiring her. Actually, she might be good at promoting Bart's first videogame (people have to know about it to buy it), too.

In Blue Devil 14#, cover date July 1985, Kid Devil and Van Vanucci (Vanquisher) along with Bob and Sylvia Bloomberg were introduced. They were created by Dan Mishkin, Gary Cohn, and Alan Kupperberg. The cover was a tribute to the comic that introduced Robin in Detective Comics 38#. ("Too Many Devils!", Blue Devil 14#, DC Comic Event)

So I’m not endorsing Fight Club - it’s a problematic book with a deeply toxic cultural legacy - but as a queer AFAB millennial who grew up in the sunken place of really wanting to identify with images of traditional masculinity… that shit rocked my world circa 2006.
And it just occurred to me how easily you could map Fight Club’s core plot conceit* onto NBC Hannibal (especially season 1); and that got me thinking about the parallels and differences between these two works.
Spoilers for a 28-year-old movie below the cut.
*the core plot conceit of Fight Club is that the two principal characters - the charismatic and dangerous Tyler Durden, and the story’s unnamed narrator - are in fact one person. The narrator is not aware of this until the final act.
(Also - I’ve added headings, because I know this is very long and rambly, and I feel an appropriate amount of shame about that. )
[How this idea originally occurred to me]
So what originally got me thinking about this is that in NBC Hannibal, Will is always tired, while Hannibal, mysteriously, seems to have at least 40 hours available for crafts and hobbies in every day.
This maps very neatly onto the way time seems to work for Tyler Durden, vs. how it works for the insomnia-plagued narrator.
[Main thesis]
But there’s a lot more similarities than that - most notably, the overall arc of the narrator-Tyler / Will-Hannibal relationship:
1. Both Hannibal Lecter and Tyler Durden breeze into our main character’s lives, and very quickly install themselves at the very centre of it.
2. Both become an object of unacknowledged homoerotic yearning for the main character, before finally being revealed to be extremely dangerous villains who were manipulating the main character all along, and who were instrumental in blowing up the main characters’ lives.
3. Ultimately, in both works, the main character ultimately rejects their “friend” by attempting suicide in a way that will kill both of them (and, in doing so, stops the “friend” from committing further harm).
[Bonus Round]
Other parallels include:
- that Hannibal and Tyler are both exceptionally ostentatious in their mode of dress, in contrast to our comparatively mousey main characters.
- that they both serve to invite the main character to embrace violence (something the narrator in Fight Club does easily, but which Will Graham, to his credit, resists).
- Hannibal’s ritualized sadistic physical torture of Will (in Mizumono, and the again in Dolce / Digestivo) also mirrors the scene in Fight Club where Tyler burns the narrator’s hand.
- Hannibal and Tyler also both enter the main character’s lives at a time when they are struggling with insomnia based on guilt related to their jobs. (Jobs, btw, where both of them have bosses they cannot stand and do not respect.)
[Alana Bloom and Marla Singer]
I also think the Marla Singer / Alana Bloom parallel is interesting.
In both cases, these women are implied to be the only woman who might, possibly be a match for the main character - someone who could possibly understand them enough to form a possibly-healthy relationship.
Instead, however, Alana and Marla end up forming relationships with Hannibal and Tyler (respectively).
In both works, this makes the main character despair (even as it is implied that the woman would actually rather be with the main character than with Hannibal / Tyler).
[Bonus Round II - Electric Boogaloo]
Also, on a more superficial level, both Marla and Alana have stunningly pale skin and dark hair (much as both Tyler and Hannibal are sandy blondes who seem larger-than-life in comparison to our dark-haired, ruddy-complexioned protagonist).
I would also like to rapidly recognize:
- the aesthetic similarities in Randall Tier’s death and that of Jared Leto’s character in the film version of Fight Club
- the amusing parallel of both Tyler and Hannibal creatively repurposing dead human tissue, which they then gleefully give to rich people who do not know what they are consuming (Tyler, by making medical-waste human fat into bougie soap; Hannibal, by making murder victims into gourmet meals)
- the way that the “the line between us has begun to blur” theming in Season 3 of Hannibal echoes the “literally the same person” reveal in Fight Club
[Conclusion]
With all this in mind, I think it would be very possible (and potentially quite fun) to plot out a Fight Club AU of Hannibal, wherein there is no Hannibal Lecter. (Might explain why he has such a stupid fucking name. Yeah, I said it. It’s fucking dumb that his name rhymes with “cannibal”. Fight me, Thomas Harris.)
[Appendix - Contrasts]
That said, the differences are also quite notable:
1. Whereas Tyler Durden seduces the narrator in Fight Club with the promise of validation from a male social group, Hannibal Lecter’s pitch to Will is that he recognizes that Will is is unique and special, and appreciated him as such.
2. Tyler Durden is overtly political, positioning himself as outside the system, and explicitly anti-capitalist. Hannibal Lecter, on the other hand, is apolitical, and perfectly comfortable being a member of the ruling class. There is no anti-capitalist motive to his crimes against the rich.
3. In rejecting Tyler, the narrator in Fight Club (especially in the film version) symbolically reclaims his heterosexuality, and is implied to have formed a bond with Marla; whereas Will Graham (literally) embraces Hannibal even as he rejects him, and Alana has long since been clearly shown to have adopted a position of “To hell with these gay idiots”.
4. While imperfect, Will Graham is a lot more sympathetic than the narrator of Fight Club; both because of how vigorously he resists Hannibal (as alluded to above), and in terms of what we see of him before he falls under Hannibal’s spell:
— Will’s guilt stems from an action (shooting Gareth Jacob Hobbs) that most people would consider morally-correct. In Fight Club, on the other hand, the narrator’s guilt stems from condemning strangers to die in order to save his company money.
— The narrator in Fight Club is shown to have been driven by his insomnia to the point of engaging in vampiric support-group grief tourism (which - yikes). By contrast, Will is seen calling Jack Crawford out on the inherently exploitative nature of his “Evil Minds Museum”.
— Whereas the narrator in Fight Club lives a life of hollow consumerist grasping, Will is shown to live a materially-simple life, which he generously shares with a menagerie of abandoned dogs. It is easy to imagine that he would put his dogs’ needs ahead of his own, given that we see him putting time and energy into rescuing and washing Winston, even at the end of a long, exhausting workday.
[Postscript]
I literally typed this whole-ass essay out before I remembered that Edward Norton (who played the narrator in Fight Club) also once played Will Graham (in the 2002 film Red Dragon, which I have not seen, but which I remember Bryan Fuller having credited with giving him the idea to write NBC Hannibal).

So I'm starting to read through all of Eddie's comic appearances (from this list) for fun, and--
Fury of Firestorm vol.2 #24, Special Blue Devil preview
--I honestly never would have expected Eddie to have been responsible for Dan deciding to go the superhero route in the first place. Even if Dan might have intended it to be a one-off.
It's just a fun little detail that I'm glad I found out. n.n

Some of you could probably see this one coming. I have an Eddie fic ready to share with you very soon, but for those of you who have no idea who I’m talking about, I figured I should fill you in. So here he is! The sweetest little devil in the DCU!
Eddie Bloomberg debuted in the 1984 Blue Devil series. Blue Devil is Dan Cassidy, a Hollywood stuntman/special effects artist who was cursed by a demon and trapped in a devil costume forever. If he had been a Marvel character, he would be hated and feared etc, but since he lives in the DCU, it literally has no effect on his movie career. I love the DCU.
The producer of the movie Dan is making when he’s cursed is Marla Bloom (real name: Marlene Bloomberg), a somewhat manic but fiercely loyal visionary. Her nephew, Eddie, is a gofer on set and in fact is only known as “Gopher” for quite a few issues of Blue Devil before anyone uses his actual name. Eddie is teeny tiny in this series - logically he’s probably no younger than 12, since he’s allowed to actually have a job on set, but the writing and art, especially his little OshKosh B’gosh green overalls, make him seem younger, more in the 8-10 range.
(Note: It is never explicitly stated that Eddie and Marla are Jewish, but their last name, and Marla changing her name upon arriving in Hollywood, are such obvious clues that I wouldn’t even consider it coding or subtext. It might be missed by people who aren’t familiar with Jewish names or the long history of Jewish people changing said names to make it in Hollywood - which, trust me, is as antisemitic as anywhere else - but they are Jewish. This will have some HIGHLY PROBLEMATIC IMPLICATIONS further down the line, but we’ll get there.)
Eddie’s hero worship of Dan leads him to make his own costume, plus a “trident” (Dan has one too and that’s what they both call it, but you guys, you are devils, not mermen. They’re pitchforks.) that he uses to fly, which, UM??? Eddie is apparently a genius and no one ever comments on it?
Eddie is probably best known these days in fandom for his extremely brief (it’s a four page story) friendship with Jason Todd in his Robin days. They are PEN PALS and they team up to catch a jewel thief and it’s so damn cute:
But not too long after this, Blue Devil was canceled, and Eddie faded into obscurity. That is, until he showed up on the Teen Titans 20 years later, looking like this:
Eddie is now 17, and the intervening years have been extraordinarily shitty for him.
First, his Aunt Marla was like “Hey, I talked your parents into letting you stay with me indefinitely, because I love you!” and it took him years to realize that actually, his parents had suggested he stay in Hollywood because they didn’t want him.
Then Marla died in a freak helicopter crash, because some safety lights that should have been on were out. Eddie struggled to keep a job after that, since he’s not actually very good at being a gopher/PA. (Why he was allowed to live on his own/work/not go to school as a minor is not explained.)
He decided to focus on being a superhero, but no one wants a kid in a devil suit with no powers, so that didn’t go so hot either. Eventually he got his chance when a mysterious hooded stranger gave him a black candle, which...Eddie, no. Lighting the candle took him to Neron, who is one of the DCU’s several versions of the devil, specifically the one who makes Faustian bargains with characters.
Neron asked Eddie who he trusted the most in the world, and Eddie said Blue Devil. Neron offered Eddie a deal: he would give Eddie powers, and in exchange, if Eddie ever lost his trust in Blue Devil, his soul would belong to Neron on his 20th birthday. Eddie, thinking nothing could shake his faith in his hero, agreed.
And then Neron told him that Blue Devil killed Marla.
This was in fact completely true. Years ago, Dan had made a deal with Neron: fame in exchange for destroying a power station in the middle of nowhere. Dan, assuming no one would be hurt, agreed. The power station being down was the reason the warning lights were out during Marla’s helicopter crash. Dan never told anyone the truth about her death.
Eddie refuses to believe him, because after all, Neron is a demon and demons lie. He goes on to finally join the Teen Titans as the happy go lucky comic relief/loser. But it weighs on him, and finally he confronts Dan:
Eddie realizes to his horror that his soul is now forfeit to Neron on his 20th birthday, which is less than three years away. But he doesn’t want anyone to pity him, and he doesn’t want to spend the next three years being miserable, so he doesn’t tell anyone (except his friend Zachary Zatara, who was there when he met Neron), and continues to be the sweet, seemingly happy-go-lucky comic relief of the 2000s-era Titans. EDDIE MY DARLING. 😭
I do want to pause here to talk about the implications of Eddie’s transformation. Like I said earlier, Eddie is Jewish. Even if that’s never confirmed in the comics, even if he isn’t religious (we have no evidence one way or the other), Eddie is at the very least ethnically Jewish on his father’s side. This is the extremely clear intent of his (also Jewish) creators.
Jewish people having horns, and just generally being associated with devils, is a very, very old stereotype dating back to the Middle Ages. It was used in Nazi propaganda. I’m a millennial, and I know Jewish people my age who have been asked where their horns are. It is a living stereotype, and an incredibly dangerous one.
I am...let’s say 90% sure that giving a Jewish character horns was a genuine mistake? Maybe Geoff Johns, who wrote that storyline, didn’t realize that “Bloomberg” was a Jewish last name. Maybe he wasn’t familiar with the stereotype. But I can rattle off a whole list of shockingly racist things that man has written by (maybe) accident, and he was one of the people Ray Fisher called out for racism during the filming of Justice League, so...who knows. I love Eddie, I love the devil version of him, but I also don’t trust Geoff Johns an inch, and am generally very uncomfortable with the implications of this particular transformation. (Also, like...cramming a Jewish character into Christian mythology like this is still pretty gross. Jews don’t believe in Hell.)
Eddie has a lengthy tenure on the Titans, from the mid-2000s almost all the way to the New 52. Like I said before, he’s largely comic relief/the “loser” team member who thinks no one likes him (and some characters are pretty relentlessly contemptuous of him, particularly Cassie and Tim during their era of being written horribly OOC at all times). He’s also incredibly self-sacrificing - at one point a villain tries to kill him but accidentally absorbs his curse instead, and Eddie insists on taking it back, because he can’t let anyone suffer in his place, even a rando who tried to murder him for no reason. EDDIE MY LOVE.
And he does have friends! Aside from his friendship with Zachary Zatara (who isn’t really on the team), he’s particularly close with Miss Martian and Blue Beetle.
And then there’s Rose Wilson, Ravager. She joins the team right around the same time Eddie does, and he very obviously has a massive crush on her. Rose equally obviously does not really know how to relate to people in an honest and healthy way, so she veers wildly between flirting with Eddie, being scathingly cruel to him, opening up to him in a way she doesn’t with anyone else, and going feral to protect him.
Also, this happens:
I have never recovered.
Eddie eventually loses his powers when he’s bitten by Brother Blood, because sure, why not? A trip to Hell confirms that not only is he free of his obligation to Neron, but he never actually signed a contract in the first place - Neron simply activated Eddie’s latent metagene, which...turned him into a demon for reasons but can be mystically deactivated, apparently? Look, there’s no time to make sense, Eddie has a noble sacrifice to get to!
Eddie is happy to be free of Hell, obviously, but he’s now stuck being support staff for the Titans, since he doesn’t have any powers. Rose, who had left the team a while back, returns and tries to get Eddie to leave with her, since it’s dangerous to be powerless around superheroes. He turns her down. EDDIE, NO.
Literally the next issue, a riot breaks out on Alcatraz, which is a supervillain prison in the DCU. While the Titans are fighting the supervillains, Eddie is tricked by the Calculator into flying out to the island in the T-Jet to try to find a nuke. When he discovers that the nuke is just a man with radioactive powers who is melting down and minutes from exploding, he gets the man into the T-Jet and flies it as high as possible before the explosion, saving the Titans, Alcatraz, and San Francisco.

😭😭😭
Eddie stayed dead for the next year or so, and then the New 52 happened. He appeared in one issue as Blue Devil’s godson in the New 52; then returned for one more issue with his powers intact in Rebirth.
And then he died at Sanctuary in Heroes in Crisis, because apparently if you’re a redheaded friend of Jason Todd with a penchant for backwards baseball caps, you’re gonna die in HiC.
We haven’t seen Eddie since, so it’s anyone’s guess whether he was brought back to life by Infinite Frontier or not. I choose to believe he was, because I love him and I say so.
If you want to read about Eddie, your best bet is the 2003 Teen Titans series. It’s, like...pretty bad, but it’s also the lion’s share of Eddie’s appearances, and he’s extremely lovable. If you’re looking for fic, I'm mostly familiar with stories where he appears as Jason’s bestie. Eddie Fucking Bloomberg by chucklesbuckles makes me laugh every time I read it. Eddie also has small but delightful roles in the longer JayRoy fics i wish i was by @shhhenanigans and gentle on my mind (the actual world) by @hamjay. And Burning my defenses by the shaking of her hips is some excellent Rose/Eddie by @macabrekawaii.
(Also, I have a fic about him coming next week! Stay tuned!)
In conclusion: don’t cry. Baby Eddie in Tiny Titans, okay?

I would like to introduce everyone to a new OC I made, Chloe "Clover" Verdez.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/cbb2803736ea4045621bc4552b650500/d5890216b2f330a8-14/s540x810/1b36aaa1b400ebd7ca5dcd3db788651f1b965bf8.jpg)
Chloe, or "Clover," which happens to be her nickname, is a young girl with olive green hair who loves nature, specifically plants. Especially when it comes to gardening with her mother in the yard. Though I guess you can say that she's a flower fan as a friend of mine says.
Chloe wears a four leaf clover on her hair, making her a happy-go-lucky flower fan.
Though I guess I should explain a bit more about her creation.
Chloe was actually a character I came up with for an RP I was doing with a friend of mine, who runs the @the-shroobs and @dyandfunny accounts. Funnily enough, Dario Saltos and Marla Rosa also started out as characters I made just for role-playing.
When I started role playing as Chloe, she was named "Carla Rubio". In the role-play, Carla was made to be another Super Mario fan, just like Dario and Marla.
I didn't think about how I would draw Carla as she was just made for the RP. But said friend mentioned that they couldn't stop thinking about how neat it be for Carla to have some design aspects to Lucy Van Pelt from the Peanuts series.
Eventually, I would take the time to draw out a sketch of Carla Rubio with that description, mainly with the hair, and drew her in a Yoshi shirt, and I even gave her the Super Nintendo World Yoshi wristband. This sketch was made on November 11th, 2024.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/524512893c6815a5435c25b29059edd3/d5890216b2f330a8-d9/s1280x1920/cf3fd392935ac4c1a4b1410a3e3f2774aea21950.jpg)
Funnily enough, after drawing Carla in this sketch, I couldn't help but realize how much she looked like Penny from the Inspector Gadget series.
But also on the same day I made the sketch, said friend suggested that I should change Carla's name. "Carla Rubio" was just a placeholder of sorts after all, and I already have a character with a similar sounding name being Marla, so I went with the idea to pick out a new name her her. My friend made a list of names to choose from, including "Camila", "Emma", "Riley", "Brooklyn", "Harley", "Ashley", "Valerie", and, of course, "Chloe".
Of the names suggested, I picked "Chloe", "Riley" and "Valerie". As ridiculous as it sounds, I would go to a website to look up the meanings of each name to see if any would work best. "Riley" meant rye clearing, courageous and valiant, "Valerie" meant healthy and strongn and "Chloe" meant young green shoot, blooming, verdant, and greenish-yellow color.
I liked "Chloe" quite a lot, especially since I thought about having Carla wear green. So, Carla was renamed to Chloe. As for her last name, that was also a placeholder, and was told that "Rubio" meant blonde in Spanish. Well, I wasn't thinking of having Chloe be a blonde, though I don't know if the olive green used for her hair in the character sheet still made her blonde, so I had to pick out a new surname for her. But to stick with the green them, I chose "Verdez" as "verde" is green in Spanish.
As for her outfit, when I was thinking about how I could make her attire a little more original and not have any Super Mario associations with it, I would talk with another friend, @creaturesned , for outfits suggestions. Sure, you can day that Dario and Marla are literally Mario and Peach, but remember, other than the colors and subtle references, nothing about their outfits has any Super Mario associations with them other than their wristbands, which I should consider changing at some point. When I asked CreatureSned what usually looks good on a green shirt, they suggested a flower or a sun. So, why not a sunflower as the graphic on her shirt? I would also add "SUNNY" to the shirt in orange. CreatureSned also suggested a yellow scrunchy in place of her wristband, and I liked that idea very much. Since I thought of her nickname being "Clover", I figured I should have a four leaf clover on her head like a hairpin.
But it was because of these suggestions and ideas from my friends that I thought about making Chloe a flower fan, and I thought it would be perfect. Plus, I think it was about time I have an OC that wears green.
Although Chloe is an original character of mine, I don't think I would've created her without the ideas and suggestions given by my friends. So I would like to thank them for the help with the creation of Chloe "Clover" Verdez. Actually, I think Chloe may be the first OC I made that was created this way as far as I'm aware.
Anyway, Chloe "Clover" Verdez will be added to the "Winnie and Pooh and Freddie Too" cast. Not counting the animal companions, this would make her the 14th member of the cast I have presented, 20th if counting Pooh Bear, Tommie Tanuki, Vickie Kitsune, Gabby the angel-dog, Tabby the demon-cat and Fungi Fungusaurus.
I look forward to doing more art featuring Chloe along with Winnie, Freddie, Pooh, and the rest of their friends and posting them here on Tumblr, as well as over on Bluesky. And I hope you guys also look forward to seeing more of Winnie, Freddie, Pooh, and all of their friends soon.

Marla Ahlgrimm On Spring Allergies And Sinus Infections
Retired pharmacist Marla Ahlgrimm knows all too well that despite being a time of renewal and growth, spring also brings with it seasonal allergies and resulting sinus infections. Unfortunately, sinus infections can linger for weeks, and this can put a damper on your warm weather plans.
According to Marla Ahlgrimm, a sinus infection occurs when the sinuses get inflamed or swollen. This can lead to pain, congestion, sore throat, and other uncomfortable symptoms. Today, Ahlgrimm takes a peek into how you can control sinus infections caused by seasonal allergies.
What Causes Sinus Infections?
During the spring, sinus infections are often caused by seasonal allergies. Marla Ahlgrimm explains that pollen levels increase as the weather warms up and plants begin to bloom. This can trigger an immune response that leads to inflammation in the nasal passages in some people. Further, other springtime allergens, such as dust, mold, and pet dander, can contribute to nasal congestion and irritation. The flu, the common cold, and RSV are common springtime viruses that can also trigger sinus infections.
Symptoms And Self-Care
The symptoms of a sinus infection can easily mimic those of other issues. For this reason, it’s important to visit your healthcare provider if you experience a runny nose, headache, postnasal drip, sore throat, cough, stuffy nose, or facial pressure.
Marla Ahlgrimm says that most sinus infections will go away on their own after about two weeks. In the meantime, she suggests prioritizing self-care, which includes:
Use a saline nasal spray. Marla Ahlgrimm explains that a saline nasal spray can help keep the nasal passages moist and also flush out debris and mucus. This can reduce congestion and sinus pain. You should have no problem finding an over-the-counter nasal saline spray at your local drugstore.
Apply a warm compress. A warm washcloth pressed up against the face can ease pain and reduce inflammation in the sinus cavities. You can also use a heating pad set to the lowest setting or, in a pinch, pour some uncooked rice into a sock and microwave it for about 20 seconds.
Stay hydrated. Marla Ahlgrimm has always been a huge advocate of men and women alike staying hydrated. However, allergy and sinus sufferers should pay close attention to their liquid intake when pollen counts are high. Water helps thin out mucus to reduce congestion.
Use a humidifier. Adding moisture to the air can help ease sinus pain and congestion, says Marla Ahlgrimm. Ideally, you can run a cool water humidifier in the bedroom overnight. If you don’t have a humidifier, consider taking a hot shower and breathing in the steam to loosen phlegm and clear the nasal passages.
Get lots of rest. Sleep helps your body fight off infections and reduce inflammation. Marla Ahlgrimm recommends getting plenty of sleep and keeping physical activity to a minimum while you’re in the midst of a sinus infection.
Take OTC medication. Decongestants and pain relievers can help ease the symptoms of sinusitis. However, Marla Ahlgrimm notes it is crucial that you follow the instructions on the label and talk to your doctor or pharmacist before beginning any new medication, especially if you currently take prescriptions.
Avoid allergens. If your sinus infection is definitely caused by allergies, look for ways to avoid exposure to pollen and other irritants as much as possible. If possible, stay indoors during high pollen times, use quality air filters in your HVAC system, and run an air purifier in your home.

Ultimately, Marla Ahlgrimm says there’s no way to guarantee that you can avoid allergies or sinus infections. However, with the above self-care tips, you should be able to weather the weather of spring without losing your ability to breathe.

Eddie Bloomberg had so much technical skill and ability when it came to robotics and his hero was Dan Cassidy who was a special effects tech, his aunt was a film producer, and he was raised (during his adolescent years) on film sets. I j think it'd be cool if he got into "creature-making". I mean practical effects and puppetry and tech are something that Eddie would've gotten to see firsthand so why wouldn't he have some experience with mechs and servos and all that stuff?
That being said, I want to write an au where Eddie does Jim Henson-y creature builds and all sorts of interesting things like that. I just think it'd be a cool and fun thing to add to his character. I think Eddie as a character has so many skills and things he picked up (v fast at that) and it'd be cool to see him use those skills. Also one day I'll get around to writing him using these skills in crime-fighting bc it'd be interesting to see him put something like that into play.

Eddie as robin... that sound amazing! Maybe he can pull a Tim and demand to become robin to honor Jason? Will he try to hide it from Marla? I don't see how but I don't want her to die lol. Esp since her feuding with Bruce over this issue can make for some interesting drama.
It would be amazing 😍👿
I don't quite see Eddie 'pulling a Tim' , he's never been that level of indelicate, to knock on his friends father's door and demand that.
I've already worked out HOW Bruce and Eddie cross paths after Jason's death. As amusing as the drama would be, I REALLY dont see Marla leaving Eddie in Gotham, or moving to Gotham herself, but I've got a couple of ideas for that. The hard part is how Eddie becomes ROBIN and not just Kid Devil working with Batman. Why the name change and all that, sure I'll figure something out eventually though.
I've already scribbled some Robin designs for the baby. So excited to work on his fic!
