Well, Cain is acting like a socially awkward misogynist, panicking over losing one of his monstrous tenants into the world of mortals. But the far more charming storyline involves Kid Devil. Eddie ends up stumbling onto the path of the monster from the House of Weirdness, and I think he's ended up befriending it. But also, Eddie's Halloween costume is just his Kid Devil suit with a cape attachment, and I find that adorable. (Blue Devil #20):

not to obnoxiously continue to extrapolate from the short jaybin and kid devil team up in blue devil #19, but this moment in titans v3 #36, after eddie confesses to tim that he’s been faking calls with blue devil, that he’s been speaking to nobody, would have been the perfect opportunity for eddie to mention having known tim’s predecessor.

eddie is lonely. he is so lonely, and he believes fundamentally, and is continually told, that he doesn’t belong. he’s not a real titan—cyborg came out and directly said it. he speaks to marla’s grave about how he doesn’t know what his talent or purpose is. he gave up so much for his powers and yet they still haven’t given him a role where he is truly appreciated.

and what would be the cherry on top of that? that the boy he’s speaking to—his robin and team leader—isn’t even the robin he knew growing up. isn’t the robin he bonded with and wrote letters to. eddie had a friend. he had a role he thought he belonged to. a connection. a teen titans dream. all of which died along with jason todd.

Bruce in my Jason lives AU: Robin's mental state concerns me. He's been getting emotional on the field, what happened in Ethiopia took a toll on him and I'm still not sure whether or not he killed Garzonas. I'm gonna encourage him to meet other heroes his age and maybe build his own team, see if their good influence helps him regulate and keeps him on the right path!

Meanwhile Jason's newfound friend group:

Speedy (Mia Dearden): Confirmed kill.

Ravager (Rose Wilson): Several confirmed kills + the daughter of Deathstroke.

Kid Devil (Eddie Bloomberg): sold his soul to the devil, might become evil in the future.

Cute Jason/Eddie moment that sprang to mind while I was writing my silly essay about Eddie:

Jason hands Eddie a cigarette. They don't know each other well enough anymore for Jason to know if he smokes, but he figures he might? Also it seemed like that might make this monumentally awkward rooftop co-habitation a little more comfortable.

Eddie, being used to Rose, and lost in his own head a bit, gently cups Jason's hand and kisses his cigarette lit: "There."

Jason, blushing beet red and internally melting down from receiving the most tender, romantic gesture anyone has ever given him, completely unprompted, from a guy he's desperately hoping could at least still be a friend: "...thanks..."
