Sometimes I forget that the outlander show exists until a gif shows up on my dashboard and I’m once again feeling very ¯\_( ಠ_ಠ)_/¯ about their casting choices, and also very (ง’̀-‘́)ง about DG has done with Lord John's storylines

Outlander book 10 excerpt featuring Lord John! :D I like that DG has included some Polish words but I hate that she didn’t spell them using the Polish spelling. I do get it though, and at least it kind of makes sense in the story.

By the way “Mikolaj” is pronounced “Mee-ko-wai”. It also should be spelled “Mikołaj”.

Jenkooye (or how it’s actually spelled, dziękuję) is mostly pronounced how DG has spelled it. “jen-koo-yeh”.

outlander side novels whump list

i'm still working on a list for the main series, since i only started keeping track of the whump midway through book 5, but here is all the whump for everything outside the 9 "big books" of outlander! these are listed in publication order, but if you're interested in reading them in chronological order, there's a list on diana gabaldon's website.

spoilers for the series abound! enjoy :D

some clarification: published books are in bold, some of which are short story collections. individual short stories within each book are listed in quotes (i.e. "the custom of the army" is a short story in seven stones to stand or fall). the short stories aren't in chronological order within the books, which is annoying when you're trying to read them in order... but such is life. also, some of the short stories were first published in other collections. fortunately, most of the lord john novels can be read to stand alone.

happy whumping! if you haven't read the lord john novels, give 'em a shot! they're great, and they don't tend to wander like the plots of some of the later outlander novels. all of the stories except "besieged" and "a leaf on the wind of all hallows" take place before voyager, the third outlander novel, so if you haven't read/finished the books, you should be good if you've seen the first 2 seasons of the show.

The latest Book 10 Daily Lines are so good. The conversation Jamie has with Roger is so heart-felt, and Jamie’s fear for Lord John and William is so sweet. Also it’s heartwarming to see Jamie showing that he does care about John, especially after months or even years of being mad at him.
