katherine  hoped  that  mason  was  taking  her  words  seriously.  she  needed  this  moonstone.  it  was  her  way  out  of  klaus'  grip  on  her  and  her  entrance  to  start  a  new  life,  one  that  didn't  require  running  away  from  an  enemy  she's  been  hiding  from  for  centuries  now.  if  mason  had  succeeded  in  this  mission,  and  she  stayed  carefully  in  the  dark  about  her  plan,  he  could  join  her  on  her  new  journey  in  life.  isn't  that  what  he  wanted,  after  all?  to  be  with  her?  it's  what  he  had  told  her  and  she  was  putting  all  her  hope  in  him  that  he's  been  telling  the  truth  about  his  feelings.  she  couldn't  deny  that  she  had  grown  fond  of  the  werewolf,  but  she  made  sure  not  to  grow  too  attached  to  him.  if  there  was  one  thing  katherine  knew  more  than  anything  is  that  nothing  lasts  forever.  her  happiness  never  knew  peace.

this is maybe controversial, especially to any longtime fans of the books, but i very significantly prefer george karim to george cubbins. i spontaneously read the first book (to put off writing an essay lol) after finishing the first season and i just found karim to be so much more likeable?

maybe it's the fact that we get the books from lucy's pov and she doesn't warm to him immediately so we don't either, but i just found cubbins a bit annoying whereas even though karim was confrontational to start, i was endeared to him so much more quickly.

although i'm pretty sure a big factor there is ali hadji-heshmati because i love him lol. idk does anyone else agree or is it just me am i insane

full moons were never easy to handle, but especially when he'd spent the day at the hands of damon salvatore, who'd almost ripped his heart right out on several occasions. mason is still weakened, vulnerable and not physically ready, nor capable, of handling a full body transformation. it's inevitable. he knows he can't run from it since the day the curse was triggered. it had to happen, one way or another. “ run, ” he appreciates katherine's attempt at soothing him, an attempt to quench the pain he is already feeling but it's in vain ; if she doesn't run now... “ i'll hurt you, i don't want to... run katherine, please. ”
