I was rewatching season 3 of TVD and noticed how Elena watched Stefan fought for her and his humanity and still there was no mention by her of him trying to fight compulsion. She was mad at him later as if he turned off the humanity by choice.

You don't think that's a bit of an oversimplification?

You don't think Elena seeing Stefan do this in 3x05

had any bearing on what she does in 3x06?

why does she have so much faith in him? We can't infer that part of it is because of what she witnessed in 3x05?

or 3x07

It has to be directly stated in dialogue?

The lengths she goes to in 3x08-3x09

Sure, she says they'll let him go by the end of the episode but she does anything but that in the episodes that come after.

You don't just see how this is all reciprocity? How it all goes back to what she said in 3x02?

and how she saw Stefan not give up on her so she's now not giving up on him? She needs to verbally refer to 3x05? Why?

finally 3x09 was the first episode during this rewatch where I didn't remember a single thing happening, everything was new. the only thing I remembered was Katherine taking Elena's place, but that's only because I recognised the outfit. other than that, everything was new. I definitely didn't expect Mikael to die so soon, I thought he would be around for more than three episodes. but hopefully this means the other Originals are coming out of the caskets soon too.

“I don’t wanna come between you or any of our friends ever again.” Poor Landon. Does he not know that none of their “friends” cared when they thought he had died and when Hope was suffering? Does he not know that they were more than willing to let him die in the prison world? Does he not see how they treat him? How they treat both of them? Yet he still feels he and Hope have to make huge efforts for them. Landon is very aware and we saw in season 1 that he knows when he’s not being treated right, and he used to stand up for himself. But now they have him putting up with everything and going out of his way to be nice to these people. This is just...not right.
