nikolas "nikky" hawke is my main worldstate hawke . he is a warrior , specifically reaver , and he's a majority diplomatic personality , but was known to be more angry during act 3 . he's trans masc , and he romances fenris . he's 6'6 ft tall , and has a very nice and kind smile . he tries to choose kindness , but it becomes hard for him .

he's forever the eldest daughter archetype ; he helped raise his siblings , taking care of them and helping leandra especially after malcolms death . he struggles a lot with insecurities of never being or feeling good enough , of feeling like he's failed , of feeling like what he does is never Enough for anyone . he deals with rsd and is very stressed most of the time .

hes friend with most of the companions ; his closest two friends , aside from fenris , are merrill and isabela . he and aveline are not friends , nikky very much dislikes her , and his disdain towards her increases after leandra's death , which he places some of the blame onto her . they never see eye to eye , and a lot of the time their conversations are short lived and short fused . his relationship with anders is strained after the chantry explosion , they both struggle to keep in contact with one another . he and sebastian cut contact , as nikky wouldn't kill anders despite his actions and sebastian's pleading . if they met each other again , a fight would definitely occur . fenris and him are romantically entangled . nikolas adores fenris , he loves his personality and his dead pan jokes . he loves him in general . they're a battle couple , one covering the other's back . nikolas has trouble leaving fenris's side , he likes being on his arm . they three years between the act 2 and 3 romance was a bit awkward and strained , both still dancing around their feelings [nikky has an increasingly bad habit of shoving down his feelings] . truthfully i just think their relationship is mostly the exact same as it is in game , its hard for me to accurately describe . fenris did have quite a few things to say when they reunite after here lies in the abyss , while nikky is just shocked that fenris now has an undercut . which nikky quite likes .

the relationship between him and leandra is strained , pulling at the chords of friendly and twisting it into something less . he still loves his mother , but she's put a lot on his shoulders even if she didnt mean to . he mourns her death ; he still feels , years later , that he could have done something to prevent it . he misses carver . he wishes he could have their bickering back even if his memory of carver is slowly fading , and becoming more of wishing instead of memory . bethany and him are still close , even if he accidentally sent her to the circle by not bringing her with him to the deep roads . its not a connection that it once was , theres some grudges still being held , maybe from both of them . he keeps in contact with her frequently , meeting up in person after here lies the abyss . he forever loves his baby sister , she's the only family he has left .

he's more jaded during inquisition and after ; he's not ready to let new people in , he's tired of being titled "champion of kirkwall" , in general , he's just tired . he doesn't get left behind in the fade [alistair does] , and it leaves him reeling . he built himself up to be left behind , due to him feeling like he's damned the world as he released corypheus ; now , afterwards , he doesnt know what to do with himself . he mostly travels with bethany , fenris , and his and fenris's adopted child , sylvan . he's back into being a protector role , especially to the mages [sylvan doesn't have good control over their magic , and it makes nikky worried that he'll lose his child like he lost bethany to the circle once before]

the champion of kirkwall carries many scars , most notable one being a scar through his stomach that the arishok had gifted him during their duel . it still pains him to this day . other notable ones being two holes in his ear , one where a toddler bethany had yanked out his piercing , the other from him being hit by a templar's arrow . the scars across his nose are from a wolf , the one from his jaw from a bar fight with a glass bottle , and he has quite a few more littered all across his body .

at a very young age, miel surana & her dalish mage mother had been chased down by corrupt templars. in the pursuit, she had hidden while her family was slaughtered. the templars still ended up finding her & immediately instated her in the circle. she spent the majority of her life there, never remembering much about her dalish heritage or the outside world.

by no means is miel naive or sheltered though, having been around her share of blood mages & people she cared for who didnt survive the harrowing. she happily jumps on the chance to escape w/ duncan & join the grey wardens. when she sees how much suffering exists outside the circle as well as within, she learns to focus her magic on healing to help those around her how she can. she's still open and curious to the world & people around her, cherishing every bit of this new world to her. she becomes almost like a mad scientist type, constantly trying new things and exploring without any thought to her personal well-being as long as it meant she got to learn something new.

miel tries to make friends w/ the rest of the team, but morrigan & sten don't seem to like her much, leliana talks her into circles & never seems to give a straight answer, and alistair is FINE but has a distinct lack of zest. he just reminds her vaguely of the templars from the circle. so when zevran comes along, he's something NEW & so open to talking about his past & where he comes from & WOW antiva sounds so far away. each night in camp, she spends the night by the dwindling campfire chattering away with him & realizing together how different yet similar their pasts are. they fall in love, the archdemon is slain yadda yadda, zevran would walk the world for her ten times over.

also my dalish lavellan inquisitor is her cousin but they don't know that because of how young they were when miel's family was killed.

also she has no eyebrows & is super short & i love her dearly

k so I didn't know this before but halsin apparently originally wasn't even intended to be a companion plus he's intended to be part of a poly romance... which is why his mono romance was barely developed??

man how were we supposed to know that :\ but suddenly it all makes so much fucking sense... why his character arc and romance fell so flat and why you can't romance him for so DAMN long. I suppose you're supposed to romance another companion and then bring halsin in to be part of a poly relationship instead and it's not intended that you get to act 3 with no romances--they assume you've romanced another companion already

i'm really damn disappointed that his mono romance is pretty much nonexistent and that his character development is so all over the place. I don't think I'll ever be doing a poly romance because I'm just not into that at all so unless they fix halsin's mono romance guess I gotta live with it

the only other companion who really interested me for a romance was karlach but her story is almost equally nonexistent and apparently she's got bad endings only?! like just kill me man. i want to try karlach's romance but i feel like her story is just... nonexistent, i mean all you do is find infernal iron and go to dammon. there's not even a specific quest arc or challenge for her, you just sort of naturally find the iron during regular exploration.

guess i'll be trying the other romances more out of curiosity rather than desire. like they all have aspects i like but then there's just like one (or two) things that turn me off.

i liked gale initially bc i was like holy shit an alistair/anders lovechild but then he started all that weird mystra stuff and i was like aight im outie. and i was also like wait we're supposed to be able to romance this guy?! isn't he very clearly not over this thing with mystra? i mean dude's gonna blow himself up for repentance or sth

i like shadowheart as a companion but not really into her for a romance. her whole utter devotion to shar was also a huge turnoff lmao and for this first run I just decided that my tav wasn't into that. i did make the choice that basically had her turn against shar but i'm like yeah she can be besties with my tav i like that more. I actually really like sh's arc as a close/best friend

couldn't stand lae'zel initially either, left her in the cage after she wouldnt say please since tav is petty like that. found her later and reluctantly went the creche with her and then ended up killing her oops but hey she threatened to kill me first 🤷‍♀️ i'll def take her on future runs but i don't think i'll ever romance her

so like who does that even leave me with?? halsin basically fit a lot of parameters i like in a companion until i played through more of the game and realized that they really didnt deliver with him. i'm sure if i play through these companion quests/romances further in the future i'll warm up more to these characters but my initial impressions were just... not favorable and hey it's an rpg and my tav has opinions! who knows maybe i'll end up loving one of these character romances but rn i'm still lamenting over halsin's utterly lackluster one

I'm back!!! I have been since Sunday, whoops, but I've been busy getting back into class, so no updates for yall.

However! I'm back now, home was great, I travelled out to stow-on side to see the kids. Apparently the little pink dude that had the attitude problem fully bowled down their mural and revealed an old statue??? Sonia would not stop texting me it was wild.

The statue actually looks really cool! I don't really understand why the mural was covering it but I'm glad it's out in the open now.

Anyway updates on trainers, Glo and Hop beat Bea and Vic beat Alistair (still weird to me that they let a kid run a government building but he did a good job). It wasnt too difficult thanks to their larger and more diverse teams. Gareth and his granddaughter did great, too! They truly fucked up Alistair's team with their linoone, zippy.

Carl is... Definitely also there. He now has a togepi, which was firing all sorts of attacks all over the place. He faced Bea, and in her interview afterwards she praised him???

"His strategy was so complicated and well thought-out that I could not understand. He was a formidable opponent."

Whereas Carl's interview:

"I have no idea what happened. I didnt recognise a single move that Tepi [the togepi] fired. I didn't know Tegepi could learn that?????"

The rotom drone capturing the match identified the attack as a prismatic laser???? Which is. Whilde. I assume the togepi knows metronome.

Everyone else did fine! That Marnie girl with the morpeko has been Killing it lately, which I love for her. Im excited to see her battle one of the kids from postwick when they face off in the finals. Brandy and I had a great time catching up with the battles after I got back.

As for the visit itself, I saw my relatives and their Pokémon, helped my nans around their gardens, and met up with my childhood bestie. I saw my dad and his girlfriend's new house, too! It's a nice house. My brother and I hung out a ton, too. I've missed him :)

I went to Stow-On-Side the day before the kids set off to Balonlea, we got foodstuffs from the shops and had a picnic next to the entrance of the glimwood tangle. I was wearing a nice hat that day, and it got stolen by some impidimps >:( so we had to go into the glimwood tangle to get it back from those little shits. They're lucky that they're cute, otherwise I'd be furious. I've found (and by that I mean I've been told by my buddy who had one) that playing along with their games is the easiest way to get your stuff back, and they especially like then you mess with them back. Despite not enjoying having my hat stolen, I actually had a really fun time :D I got to spend time with the kiddos, too, which was great.

My Mons had a great time, too. Bonfire night happened, which they all really enjoy. Pokémon are kinda touch and go with fireworks, but mine have always been fine. Chomp was scared the first time he saw them and didn't like the noise as a gibble, so he had this set of

'i see that you are doing serious work on the deep roads entrance below the keep. were the fortifications badly damaged during this reported darkspawn incursion? what do you mean you put the resources to defending the town and 'just let surana stand around at the deep roads entrance and turn away any darkspawn that approached' who the fuck is surana? we dont have a warden by that name and controlling darkspawn is not 'an advanced senior warden secret technique'. what the fuck do you mean 'avernus vouched for him' who is avernus?'

and on the more mundane level, the amount of affection/closeness is way higher and discipline way lower than normal bc the closest thing the HoF had to someone who knew what the wardens are supposed to be like is alistair, who didnt know that the degree to which duncan took him under his wing was a little unusual bc duncan was acting not entirely as his senior officer but influenced by being his pseudo-godfather. so alistair thinks thats normal and then during the blight he and the HoF became those shelter cats you cant adopt separately so thats the energy that was being brought to the awakening crew before the amaranthine operation got big enough for the templar infiltration to happen.

'but dont worry!' the warden-commander is quick to (counterproductively) reassure the visiting wardens, 'avernus promises that if we just stick to joining recruits with the same source of darkspawn blood the chances of treachery in the ranks will go down by an order of magnitude!' now obviously after this recent unpleasantness with the templars its a risk to further provoke the chantry by outright refusing templar recruits, but the substitute archdemon blood avernus provides has a good chance of causing anyone with significant amounts of lyrium in their system to explode into red lyrium ('dont worry, we have a system to dispose of it' they say to people who did not even know red lyrium was a possibility before this horrible, horrible meeting), so theyll either die or be forced to detox beforehand, which also has a good chance of killing them. win-win.

Tabris doesn't think anything of it, at first. People's blood doesn't usually sing. And it’s been a while since the last time she was near a Warden, so for a moment she forgets what it feels like - the pull of your soul to theirs, a feeling like part of you has known them before you even knew yourself. But she’s halfway through asking him why he’s here alone when all the other Wardens have suddenly disappeared, when the wrongness settles over her so quickly she nearly loses her train of thought altogether. And he catches on and looks at her like she can see right through him, and she can’t, is the thing, because she knows he’s lying but she can’t figure out why. All she knows is that Blackwall was a Warden, she’s heard the name before -- in passing, from Alistair, or maybe Duncan -- so whoever’s standing in front of her, wearing Warden armor and sounding for all the world like someone who actually believes in their worth, isn’t him.

She gives him a week. Partially because she isn’t sure how to approach this, partially because she wants to know more about him, or who the fuck he’s pretending to be, and partially because she already kind of likes him and she hopes he’ll tell her himself. He doesn’t, though -- he skirts around a lot of the questions people ask him, or he makes shit up outright and doesn't notice when Tabris narrows her eyes at him (Bull notices, of course, but Bull notices everything. Damned annoying, that). She understands why he wouldn't — why should he trust her, after all, a near stranger? A stranger with a name like “Veriel Tabris, Hero of Ferelden, one-time Commander of the Grey in Ferelden, former Arlessa of Amaranthine, current Herald of Fucking Andraste,” no less. But Tabris can't stand being lied to, so she has to do something about it. 

So a week finds her waiting in the smithy for him, in the dark, sitting on a counter and struggling to stay awake because he goes to bed far later than she’d expected this time around. But eventually the door opens, and Tabris watches him step into the doorway and wearily sigh.

“Did you kill him?”

Blackwall’s hand goes straight to his sword with the readiness of someone who never relaxes, not even alone; but she’s far away enough from the door that in the time it takes for him to cross the room, he recognizes her voice and scrambles back mid-step instead. Tabris watches his eyes as he struggles to track where she is so he can look away.

“Beg your pardon?” he asks, his voice half gone like he hasn’t spoken in days.

Tabris lights the lamp by her side and watches the match burn down. “Gordon Blackwall.”

“Your Worship, I’m -”

“Do not treat me like an idiot,” Tabris snaps, ears twitching once. “That’s a sport for Mother Giselle.” She smiles when she says it; the man before her doesn’t return the favor. “Thing is, if you were a Warden, I’d have felt it. The Joining connects us the same way it connects us to the Darkspawn. Kind of like getting matching tattoos, only it goes a lot deeper than skin. So whoever the fuck you are, you’re not him, but you’re walking around saying you are, wearing what I can only assume is his armor. So again, I ask: Did you kill Warden Blackwall.”

Seconds tick on. His gaze meets hers and when it does he can’t look away, can only watch her prepare to decide whether he lives or dies. Because he must know those are the stakes - he must know what a long fucking shot it was, lying to an actual Warden, and what the answer is to the murder of another. But she believes him when finally, he says, “No.”

Tabris feels some of the tension leave her, and she nods slowly. She’s surprised by how badly she’d wanted not to have to kill him, and at how easily she believes his answer. But she’s always been a pretty good judge of people - Maker knows that’s one good thing Denerim gave her - and that one word rings true.

After another moment, he - whoever he is - moves to say something else, but Tabris cuts him off. “I don’t need to know why you’re doing it,” she says. “Not just now. Hell, I can keep calling you Blackwall if you’d rather, because something tells me your real name might bring trouble. You want to wear a dead man’s name, that’s between you and your god. I just - I had to know. ‘Cos if you had-”

“I know.” Blackwall pulls out a chair from the table and settles in it, insofar as he seems to be able to settle anywhere. Tabris feels some pity for him, just a bit; she can’t imagine having to put on an entirely new life like this. She decides she’ll worry about the why of it later. He readily offered his help when he could easily have kept on with his charade, and that has to count for something. Saved her life a couple times already, too. And she remembers the way he’d spoken, back in the Hinterlands. “Save the fucking world, if pressed,” like he really believed it, like he was willing to. That had been entirely real.

“Yeah,” she says softly, “you know. Good. So. Anyone out there who could identify you? Anyone who could cause trouble for me? As I’m sure you’re aware, my position is… precarious. Plenty of people already don’t like me, and I’d prefer not to give them more ammunition than ‘potential murderer of the Divine.’”

Blackwall sighs. “I… can’t rightly say. Could be they’ve given up on me, but even if they hadn’t, I don’t think they’d recognize me. I’ve played my part well enough.” When Tabris arches one eyebrow, he actually laughs. “Well enough for most, then.”

“I’ll take it.” She hops off the counter, pretends to brush dust off the front of her pants just for the sake of having something to do. “So. You’ll stay Blackwall to the rest of them, and you’ll learn more about the Wardens so you’re not bullshitting about the organization I’m actually pretty proud to have led once upon a time, and I’ll worry about whether or not this is going to end up biting me in the ass.” 

“I… Are you quite certain?”

“That I don’t want to tell everyone that I knowingly took in a liar, bringing scandal upon my already tenuous reputation as the sole witness to a world-altering murder and potentially losing the trust of what few friends I’ve managed to make so far?” Tabris asks. “Pretty certain, yeah. Pretty certain I trust you, too, this whole thing notwithstanding. Listen, the fact that you’re here, risking your life on a daily basis rather than using your whole Warden disguise to, I don’t know, get laid or whatever - that means something. Might mean that you’re an idiot, but it could also mean that you’re a good man, and I need those in my corner right now.”

Blackwall shrugs and looks guilty, which Tabris realizes seems to be his default expression. “Could be,” he says, and if it weren’t so quiet and so close to midnight she might not even have heard him. Tabris is about to leave when suddenly he speaks again. “I was meant to be a Warden, you know. Before… Well. Before the real Blackwall died. He’s the one who conscripted me.” 

“Suppose that explains how you knew him." Tabris considers her next words carefully. "You still could be, you know, if you wanted. A Warden. 'Course, I mean only once this is all over. There’s a whole process you might not survive, and if we’re going to take that chance I’d rather it be after we deal with that thing in the sky. But, you know. Offer stands.”

“Might take you up on that,” Blackwall says. “If we live.”

“If we live.” Tabris smiles grimly. “I’m, er, glad we talked. And glad I didn’t have to kill you. And tired as hell, and my arse is asleep from sitting up on that counter for twenty years waiting up for you like you’re a kid late for curfew, so I’m going to get out of your hair, yeah? But, just.” She taps her fingers against the doorframe as she’s about to leave for real, glances back at him once more. 

“Listen. I’m told the real Blackwall was a good man - some people I respect spoke real well of him. So you do his name good, alright? If you do nothing else, make sure he stays a good man.”

“He will,” he promises, and he’s earnest again the way he was when she met him in the Hinterlands, almost reverent. Not of her, but of Blackwall himself. She wonders if he actually looked much like the man sitting at the table right now.

Tabris can't keep looking at him for some reason. She feels embarrassed, almost, though she couldn't say why. The way he talks about the Wardens, she wonders if he believes in them even more than she ever did. She wonders what that says about her. "Yeah, okay. Good enough. Goodnight, Blackwall."

She hears him move behind her, probably to wave, but she's already out in the cold again, wondering. The nights are far too long out here.

i just finished chain of gold and oh boy i have a lot of thoughts 

the first one being i thought grace was evil since almost the very beginning and now that ive finished it i know that shes not evil shes just a Terrible person and i know the next book wont come out for another month at least and then id have to wait however long to find it online because chain of gold has been out for nearly a year and i could only find one place to read it but anyway if they dont get that goddamn bracelet off james within the first few chapters i will Lose my mind do you know how infuriating it is do you know how infuriating it is to see the merry thieves and lucie and cordelia think that james doesnt actually love cordelia and is just saving her from being ruined and whatever when hes actually hopelessly in love with her but that fucking bracelet is a bitch and so is grace and i Know her adoptive mother was mean to her and never let her train like a proper shadowhunter and she was oh so lonely in the great big house but I DONT CARE she has been manipulating james since day one and no one has noticed but Maybe magnus and i love magnus and i love matthew and i love that magnus is soft on matthew and that matthew idolizes magnus and its been hinted at like half the book that matthew likes cordelia but the other half hinted that he liked lucie and lucie and james know this apparently and have spoken about it like several times but lucie doesnt like his drinking which is fair but hes always drinking and i dont quite get it like ik he murdered someone or smth but it said he didnt know them so idk why hes so distraught over it i still love him but i dont understand him and on not understanding what was up with thomas like he was really pushing that alistair had changed and he wasnt the boy he used to be at the academy and stuff but when matthew told him the rumor alistair helped spread years ago he was like livid not willing to listen to alistair at all who very obviously regretted it and i know the thieves dont know this but alistair saw the academy as kill or be killed and he chose not to be killed which wasnt a good choice but he didnt see options and i just felt like thomas could understand that if alistair got the chance to explain and im very proud of him for breaking things off with charles charles reminds me of percy weasley in the worst way but i think ali deserves to be happy and i think thomas could be that and i really thought they were getting somewhere and it kinda seemed like a 180 for thomas to see alistair reverted back to that schoolboy also what was that thing about his tattoo when alistair saw it was as if he couldnt bare to look at thomas and i dont get that i also dont get why he didnt want lucie to see when it was first described to us i thought it would be obviously related to alistair which is why he couldnt stand to look at him bc ali was still mixed up with charles but it was literally just a compass rose and ali isnt a blackthorn so like rose-thorn theres none of that going on and it wasnt obviously related to anyone so it wasnt smth lucie could pick up on and like out or smth i dont know i didnt get that also why would sona and elias name their child alistair when their last name is carstairs i feel like thats a bit cruel i mean no wonder he was bullied at the academy hes Stair Stairs its worse than naming your son thomas when his last name is thompson and worse than naming your daughter ashley when her last name is cashley (both of these are unfortunately the actual names of real people i know) and im sure i had other things to say but my mothers been calling me to dinner for the last several minutes so if i think of anything ill reblog with more

hey, hi! can i ask you a few questions? ive found myself in a wikia vortex and cant find any answers so far... like when they say corypheus faked the calling for every warden in orlais... does that mean that every single warden in ferelden (which was not affected by the fake call) ran to orlais just bc clarel said so? did they suddenly hear the calling as soon as they crossed the border into orlais? since the warden in crestwood is still under its influence, is it like a disease? 1

2 also like, why didnt clarel call on other wardens? couldnt she have sent a note to the first warden?? did corypheys not want her to? would it not be advantageous for him to have more wardens? now that i think of it, i dont remember if the first warden/weisshaupt is brought up in inquisition? aside from that, avernus in soldiers keep stopped himself from hearing the calling for 200 years. what happened to him?

3 like why did he go with the other wardens, you know? wouldnt he think it was weird that suddenly he got the calling when he stepped in orlais? or that literally everyone else did except for him? why didnt he go back? or flee with the dai warden? why didnt he send a note to weisshaupt? actually, why didnt the dai warden send a note to weisshaupt? if it was only orlais that was affected, why did they hide out in ferelden instead of going to get help with other wardens?

4 do we know where was the architect in all of this, assuming he survived in awakening? actually, since theyre the OG darkspawn and corypheus can transfer his soul to other blighted beings and take over like an archdemon, why couldnt the architect, to get away from the warden? conversely, why doesnt the warden die if they kill the architect? also i might not be remembering dai correctly but i dont think this is addressed in any way after the arbor wilds?

5. hes a resourceful shit from what we've seen, cant he like... just have a demon do the same as what happened in soldiers peak and come back?? cant he find any leftover rifts and step through? also, he was already a tainted creature with blight magic and then he incrusted himself w red lyrium, isnt that gonna fuck up stuff in the fade? corrupt more spirits into demons at least? fuck up mages trying to cast spells? peoples dreams?

"If the Warden shared a night with Morrigan without performing the Ritual: Kieran was conceived when the Warden slept with Morrigan and was born a normal baby without the soul of an Old God." kierans wikia page doesnt explain how that was possible since the warden is supposed to be sterile? in all my playthroughs i always did the dark ritual and dont know if it was explained in game. sorry again!!!!!!!! 

1. Every warden in Thedas is hearing the calling, not just in Orlais. For example, Hawke says that their sibling hears it if Carver of Bethany are a warden, all the way in the Free Marches.

2. Clarel did call in other wardens; that’s the reason Leliana sends the Inquisitor looking for Blackwall, because all the wardens went missing, and he was the only one she could find word of.

3. The First Warden doesn’t really do shit. They’re mostly a figurehead at this point, involved in Anderfels politics, leaving the Warden-Commanders to do the real running.

4. Weisshaupt is brought up; that’s where either Hawke or Alistair / Stroud / Loghain, depending on who survives the Fade, ends up going. It’s also mentioned in the epilogue that there’s war within the Grey Wardens for control, then all communication from the base is cut off.

5. The last we know of Avernus is from the DA:2 quest Dark Epiphany, if he’s alive. He very well may not be, because the warden killed him in DA:O, or perhaps he finally died on his own.

6. If the Architect is alive, I guess he’s just screwing around in the Deep Roads, minding his own business. As far as why the warden was capable of killing him, I don’t know. Perhaps he did survive by jumping into the body of another darkspawn, somewhere, and we don’t know. Or perhaps he just doesn’t have that ability like Corypheus does. 

7. If Corypheus survives the Fade, I suppose he might find a way back. But that’s assuming he’d survive it.

8. Warden’s aren’t completely sterile, it’s just really hard for them to have kids. Fiona was still a warden when she became pregnant with Maric, for example, and states how rare it was.

so like. literally everyone in the borderlands universe despises claptrap. including aurelia. and yet in claptastic voyage she apologizes for hurting his feelings. and she disagrees with jack ending the claptrap line despite the fact that she cant stand claptrap.

she's even disturbed by "killing" felicity, who she only just met.

so like. what the hell did alistair do that would make her hate him enough that she'd be willing to kill him??? they could have at least given some sort of backstory as to why the hell she hated him so much. instead they just gave us a vague "once the family bound is broken, there's no greater source of pain" and that was that. that line alone makes it sound like alistair did something to her that "broke the bond", enough so that she cares less about him than claptrap.

buuut, like many other points in the story, they just chose to gloss over it and act like it didnt exist. would it really have been so hard to, i dunno, include even just a side quest about their relationship? i mean really, they included the (extremely unnecessary) one about her and troy for fuck’s sake. i just can't wrap my head around how the hell they got from pre-sequel aurelia to whatever the hell bl3 was. the only logical explanation would be that they just literally didnt even bother to play any of the other games, which, considering their handling of the other characters, honestly wouldnt surprise me if that was the case.
