Lee Jong Suk Special: From Big Mouth to Decibel, here are a handful of the actor's must-see Korean dramas and films.
Lee Jong Suk is a well-known South Korean actor. The actor was born on September 14th. Because of his elegant style, charming features, and a charisma strong enough to melt the coldest of hearts, the male protagonist in any K-drama inevitably becomes a fan favorite. Over the years, there have been a number of male leads who have become not only domestic but even international favorites. We started to see a range of storylines with a variety of characters that catered to everyone's tastes. Actors carve out a place for themselves and amass a devoted fan base. If you've been on social media, you've probably seen postings about gushing over them and hope to meet your own such character in real life. Lee Jong Suk is one of South Korea's most popular actors today.
Tumblr media
The actor began modestly and quickly soared to enormous popularity and fortune. On the occasion of Lee Jong Suk's birthday, let's take a look back at some of his best performances! K-DRAMAS:
 1. W - DUAL WORLDS
Haven't we all wondered what it would be like to live in a comic-book world or meet our favorite comic-book characters? So, what if one of these characters comes to life and the events that ensue are similar to the scenario in the comic? The answer can be found in the fantasy romance K-drama W-Two Worlds. This K-drama, starring Lee Jong Suk and Han Hyo Joo, was one of the most popular titles in 2016. If you enjoy a terrific thriller with mind-boggling narrative twists and a sweet romance, this is a must-see!
2. BIG MOUTH
Big Mouth, without a doubt one of the most popular dramas of 2022, catapulted its actors, Lee Jong Suk and Im Yoona, to newfound stardom and renown. After being mistaken for a criminal, an inept lawyer is sentenced to prison. His wife intervenes to prove her husband's innocence, but in doing so, she uncovers a slew of hazardous truths. 3. WHILE YOU WERE Sleeping
While You Were Sleeping is a 2016 drama that gained noted for its second lead as much as its lead combo. Lee Jong Suk and Bae Suzy had strong chemistry on screen, and their romance was highly received, but it was Jung Hae as as the second role who stole hearts. That photograph of shadows on a bus stop pavement became emblematic of buried feelings of love and longing. While You Were Sleeping is a fantasy and thriller K-drama that will keep you riveted to your screens. A prosecutor, a reporter, and a detective become entangled in a case when they realize their lives may be tied in ways other than romance or camaraderie.
4. THE HYMN OF DEATH
I highly suggest this mini-series! If you want to delve into South Korean history, particularly the personal life of a well-known poet, while also experiencing catharsis, The Hymn of Death is the drama for you. The drama follows novelist Kim Woo Jin (played by Lee Jong Suk) and his painful love affair with Shim Seon Deok (played by Shin Hye Sun). The drama's sepia toned frames take you to the past and make you feel as though you are living the story.
5. ROMANCE IS AN BONUS BOOK
"You're not my type," Kang Dan I remarks. "That's nonsense, I'm every woman's type," Cha Eun Ho responds. These are lines from the underappreciated Korean drama Lee Jong Suk and Lee Na Young feature in Romance, a bonus book. How are you doing, those who have already witnessed the drama? What are you doing, those who have yet to begin? It's the story of a gifted writer who becomes the youngest editor-in-chief in the history of his publishing house and becomes entangled in the lives of a former copywriter searching for work.
KOREAN MOVIES:
DECIBEL
What will you do if there is a bomb nearby that is very volatile to sound? If you're curious in the ins and outs, you should watch the film Decibel. This is a compelling story set in the midst of a national disaster. The terrorist attack was not only carried out on the spur of the moment, but it also revealed the prior actions of the personnel involved in defusing the device. 2. V.I.P.
If you thought that a cutesy actor like Lee Jong Suk couldn't play an antagonist, you were incorrect. To demonstrate the point, see the film V.I.P. In this film, he plays a North Korean defector who goes on a murdering rampage. The fascinating part of the story is when forces from the North and South join forces to capture him. Please be aware that there are trigger warnings for blood, gore, and abuse. 3. NO BREATHING
Adolescence is a time when everything either doesn't go your way right away or just falls into your lap. In any situation, it may be love, life, or school. No Breathing depicts the story of two swimming champion friends who fall in love with the same girl. The three then go through ups and downs as they find out their lives and themselves.

Watching Star Trek IV
Whale biologist: why do you hang around with that weird guy who calls you admiral and why are you so close?
Kirk: *hesitates*
Whale biologist, who lives in San Francisco in the 80s and is rapidly drawing many correct conclusions: that’s okay we don’t have to talk about it.

Loved how the answers to V’ger and Spock’s question of “Is this all that I am?” lie in such human concepts of love, acceptance, union. The completion of their sense of selves are not dependent on the two men, but rather so much more fulfilling, real, and tangible through loving them and everything that comes with doing so.
Side note: love being a want or need for union is a philosophical take i don’t 100% agree with (narratively speaking it’s so romantic, though, especially in this movie’s context LOL), but Marilyn Friedman’s twist on love as more of a separate, “third” unified entity (a federation of the lovers’ selves) was fun to think about ^_^

listen I expected literally Nothing from the D&D movie okay, like I can't make it clear enough that I expected the most soulless money grab with a good cgi budget imaginable, I went in having already gone through every stage of grief and landed on acceptance and LISTEN
I fucking CRIED during this dumb RPG movie. it wasn't just "not terrible" it was objectively good with a clever plot and compelling characters and sincere emotional beats. this movie loves D&D so fucking much and it NAILS the "a bunch of goobers try to be cool and accidentally discover The Power Of Friendship And Also Great Violence" classic D&D party vibe. their barbarian's last name is fucking Kilgore and my entire family cried in the theater.
I hope they make twelve of these motherfuckers.

DESCRIPTION: Ambrosius proposing to wear couple rings (one black metal with red dramatic stone for Ballister and one gold with blue sad stone on the Ambrosius' finger already) as a sign of his and Bal's "enmity". Bal with incredulousness and suspiciousness asking if these are wedding rings. Ambrosius doesn't want to delve into the topic, so calls him meticulous.
