Dragon Quest IX: INNS POLL
Since my last DQ9 poll went so well, let me try this again.
Honourable mentions to the healing place at the Observatory, and the Dormitory at Swinedimples, it's cool that they're free (seriously if you heal anywhere other than Swinedimples after finishing the quests in that town, you're doing something wrong), but they aren't technically inns.
Dishonourable mention to Porth Llaffan, Tumblr polls only allow 12 options, and this charming seaside inn was too boring to make the cut.

This is a cool property. We've seen some homes with deteriorated old jails, but this one's different. The 1878 Italianate home/jail in Rockville, Indiana is also known as "The Old Jail Inn" and has 9 cells that comfortably sleep 18 guests. In the basement is a wine bar called "The Drunk Tank Winery," plus a full-service beauty salon w/a private entrance, and a 1bd. owner's apt. The furniture, memorabilia and appliances are included, all for $445K.

These 2 bedrooms are larger and more private than the actual cells.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And, this is a communal sitting area for guests.
Tumblr media
Downstairs are the cell rooms. Is that Bonnie & Clyde in there? Note that the current owners have encouraged guests to write and draw on the walls.
Tumblr media
Hall with the cell rooms.
Tumblr media
Here's a display. Remember all the decor comes with the house.
Tumblr media
This must be "the hole." You know, like solitary confinement.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And, here we are in the wine bar.
Tumblr media
There are actually 2 bars. Maybe this one serves regular drinks.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And, this one is just for wine.
Tumblr media
Upstairs is the owner's apt.
Tumblr media
It has a cozy living room that's been updated.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And, an eat-in kitchen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Plus, the bedroom and bath.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The side of the building.
Tumblr media
Small outdoor sitting area.

Looks like there's a strip mall of stores next door, too.

People in The King's Legs (the owner had noticed that there were a lot of inns and pubs called The King's Head or the King's Arms, and spotted a gap in the market) looked up when they heard the noise outside.

A Game of Thrones, Tyrion II
West of the road were flint hills, grey and rugged, with tall watchtowers on their stony summits.
To the east the land was lower, the ground flattening to a rolling plain that stretched away as far as the eye could see.
Stone bridges spanned swift, narrow rivers, while small farms spread in rings around holdfasts walled in wood and stone. The road was well trafficked, and at night for their comfort there were rude inns to be found.
Three days’ ride from Winterfell, however, the farmland gave way to dense wood, and the kingsroad grew lonely.
The flint hills rose higher and wilder with each passing mile, until by the fifth days they had turned into mountains, cold blue-grey giants with jagged promontories and snow on their shoulders.
When the wind blew from the north, long plumes of icy crystals flew from the high peaks like banners.

Smarden Village Kent.. (explored) by Adam Swaine Via Flickr: Smarden has 131 listed buildings including these prominent buildings dating from Smarden’s weaving era and later years: The Cloth Hall Smarden became very prosperous and some fine houses were built in the 15th and 16th centuries, many of which remain today. The Cloth Hall (1430) is an example of a fifteenth-century yeoman's timber hall house. Although built as a farm it became the central clearing warehouse for the local cloth industry; the broad-cloth would have been taken from there to the port of Faversham

Ultraman: Rising (2024) - Film vs. Concept Art
“The moment when Emi is born: what does it feel like to see life for the first time? Well, maybe it would feel like a nursery, with a moon and the stars hanging from the ceiling of a nursery.” — Shannon Tindle

Pub 120 - Plume of Feathers
This pub is in a super location right by Maze Hill Station and is a stunning old style pub. I had a very nice ipa by the Wantsum Brewery.
Pub 121 - Watchmakers Arms
I love this pub and have been here before a few times. Today they had a dark beer selection on offer which was immense. The beer was fantastic.
Pub 122 - Neptune
This is an old school pub with no frills and a nice atmosphere. I had a pint of Old Ale which was lovely (although a beer that I do know well).
Pub 123 - Foghorn
This pub is a good one. A nice ale selection and a good atmosphere on a busy Saturday afternoon. They had a dark beer on but I'd had that previously so I went for the very nice best bitter.
Pub 124 - Westbourne
This was on the walk back to the station and I was very happy to get here. It had a stunning 6.5% stout on which was delicious. A really good atmosphere and friendly staff makes it a winner.

A Game of Thrones, Tyrion II
Tyrion felt sorry for the boy.
He had rather less sympathy for the uncle.
Benjen Stark seemed to share his brother’s distaste for Lannisters, and he had not been pleased when Tyrion told him of his intentions.
“I warn you, Lannister, you’ll find no inns at the Wall,” he had said, looking down on him.
“No doubt you’ll find some place to put me,” Tyrion had replied. “As you might have noticed, I’m small.”
