HELLUVA Boss - Imp/ Blitzø powers theory:

Okay so since Sinsmas I have been thinking a lot about Blitzø and IMP abilities.

So in Sinsmas we got to see Loona's demon form and Vivzie has hinted before about other demons having official forms other than Goeitias.

My theory is that Imps most likely have abilities dealing with fire; however, they have not been taught how to properly handle it. Like they have this hidden power, but they have no idea how to control it. This would make sense with them being the native demons to Wrath which has fire twisters and volcanos everywhere (This is mentioned in Harvest Moon by Moxie)

This ability would also make sense of the slur "Fire Toad" that Blitzø was called during Western Energy while he was in the sloth ring.

Rings of Hell Fire types:

Okay so in Helluva boss lore the different rings of Hell seem to have different types of fire/fire colors.

Envy: unknown. Maybe black ish or kind of a like neon yellow/green. The yellow green color is what was shown in Ghost F**ckers during the Millie and Blitzø flashback scene. Kind of reminds me of pop lights.

Wrath: Seems to have more normal stereotypical fire colors. Like orangish red.

Sloth: is shown to have pinkish/purple colored fire. This is shown on the demons with the candles and on Belphegor

Pride: Pure Red and White fire.

Lust: blue fire. Seen in Ozzie's body. Also you see it at Ozzie's. In the Corners.

Gluttony: yellow goopy honey fire

Greed: bright green fire. Seems to be the only fire that causes hellborn demons physical harm. Was the fire at the circus during the explosion.

You can also see that horses are made of fire and their colorations show what ring the horse is from.

Lava-esk red/orange fire: from Wrath.

Green: from Greed, Purple/Blue: From Lust, Pink from Sloth

Fire Blitzø motif:

Okay so fire is a HUGE motif in this show especially surrounding Blitzø. This man is always setting shit on fire whether purposeful or accidental.

First episode Murder Family

Blitzø and Millie are literally set on fire and that's how we learn that earth flames have no effect on demons. Also I love the call back to this moment later on in Apology Tour. RIP BLITZØ PLUSHIE 😭

Then we get to see Blitzø accidentally set Loo Loo land on fire in the second episode

In spring breakers and cherubs you don't really see much fire motifs. The most you see is Millie light a molotov cocktail.

Then we jump to S1 Ep 5 Harvest Moon Festival:

This is our first sighting of Blitzø's lighter as he lights a cigarette

The lighter is later used as a metaphor for him by Loona when talking to Octavia in Season 2 Seeing Stars

The lighter is acting up at first but then eventually produces a strong flame. She uses this dads mess up and sometimes they don't always get it right but at least they are trying and that's what is important.

Then we see the lighter again in Mastermind, Loona saving a photo of IMP and then trying to light the files on fire. Blitzø has to help Loona to get it to light.

In Season 1 episode 6 Truth seekers we see the first hint of flame like motifs destroying his loved ones.

The season one finale Ozzie's also has the fire motif with Ozzie's blue flames standing over him in casting his judgement and shame with his past relationships.

S2 Seeing Stars we of course have the previously mentioned lighter scene and then the beautiful Blitzø action hero moment.

Then in Oops we learn that he accidentally set his family's circus on fire by knocking over a birthday cake, said fire killed his mom, hurt Fizz and hurt himself.

later on in Oops he causes another explosion and sets the whole area on fire and has to Rescue Fizz

Then the fire is again referenced in GhostF**kers with the infester demon.

Blitzø's main trauma is that everything he touches gets destroyed or ruined.

Apology Tour: All 2 u song

There is this gorgeous moment when Stolas is singing about his frustration with Blitzø where it shows Stolas in flames. And Blitzø sees this and sees that he hurt Stolas. Metaphorically burns him.

What if I read this all wrong?

What if we just don't belong?

All this "What if? What if? What if?

Why?Why?Why?Why?Why?Why?" Makes me BURN

In Mastermind it really shows this with him being surrounded by flames when he is about to die. There is also this lovely quote in the song by Stolas

"Does this fool deserve this flame?"

"Let his name light a fire in the hearts of his Race"

"You're my light"

I like the motif of Blitzø continuously being almost punished by the flame and his own flames. Flames hurt people they burn. They are dangerous and out of control. People often refer to love or lovers as a flame or a fire that burns.

Also Stolas literally refers to him as his light. Blitzø is a light to those around him. He inspires other Imps to go outside of their social ranking. He inspires others to break the mold. He lit the way for a new path for Moxie, Millie, Loona and Stolas

The lighter motif continues. Yes it is faulty and inconsistent but it still tries and it works.

And then we get to Sinsmas

HOW OFTEN IS THIS MAN LITERALLY SETTING SHIT ON FIRE!??

It is established that Blitzø is really good at cooking. This isn't the sims where someone is new to the cooking skill and sets their kitchen on fire 😂. It would be different if he couldn't cook. But he can cook.

Also while talking about accidentally setting shit on fire. Fire shows up out of nowhere on Blitzø! Homeboy wasn't even cooking this time! 👀

Then this after the whole Octavia fight with Stolas. This man LITERALLY ATE COALS TO BECOME A HEATED BLANKET TO COMFORT THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE!

. . .So at this point I'm like. . .Can IMPS control Fire???? Or at least be Conductors of fire??? I have so many questions.

Like it's obvious that Blitzø doesn't have control over fire because of him using a lighter to light things also the sheer amount of times he has accidentally set shit on fire. But all I can think is the lighter motif of Blitzø and how at first the lighter is erratic, but then it eventually works.

I imagine that Imps have abilities but part of the class divide made it where they lost knowledge of their abilities. Or that their abilities are extremely erratic and difficult to control. Which makes sense because their birth sin is Wrath.

Further connection to Blitzø and fire motifs meanings:

1. Fire as a Symbol of Destruction and Rebirth:

The circus, what happened to Fizz. Literally the destruction of Stola's old life and status.

2. Fire as a Metaphor for Passion and Desire:

Homie all of Stolitz

3. Fire as a Symbol of Purification and Renewal:

Renewal of ones self. Blitzø redemption arc

Think of how Millie was on a bad road but Blitzø helped her get on the right track.

Blitzø game Moxie a new life out of jail.

He also gave a new path to Loona.

4. Fire as a Representation of Creativity and Inspiration:

Giving Stolas inspiration to choose his own path.

Inspiring other Imps to question society norms.

Basically my Ted talk conclusion is that if we ever get to see BLITZØ's final demon forms it has to deal with fire. Homie is non stop symbolized by fire.

Stolas's Offer is for Selfish Reasons

This is my speculation on the Full Moon episode. At first, I thought Stolas getting Blitz an Asmodean crystal was a step in the right direction for him. However, I then listen and read the lyrics of the upcoming Stolitz duet and realized I was wrong. Stolas isn't offering the crystal in order to do the right thing but it's so Blitz won't feel obligated anymore and that he can be with Stolas.

In the beginning of his verses, he is still very much deluded and thinks the deal is the only thing holding them back from being happy together. Despite having two songs prior where he mentioned that his situation with Blitz was his own fantasy and how Blitz won't open up to him. Sure, he mentions giving Blitz a choice so he won't feel like a prisoner. However, the majority of his verses are about his own fears of losing Blitz and dying alone.

Despite what the narrative says, Stolas doesn't love Blitz as a person but rather how he feels when he's with him. This is why there's never any chemistry or genuine connection between them.

One of Stolas's main problems is he lacks empathy.

He still doesn't comprehend why Blitz is so closed off to him. It all started with the night at Ozzie's. In addition to Blitz's former love interests humiliating him, he sees Stolas hide his face from him which he took as Stolas being ashamed to be seen with him. This was when Ozzie was singing about how Stolas had given up his family (and everything else) to be with Blitz, a lowly imp. Even after that, Stolas acts like nothing happened and doesn't see why Blitz was upset.

(Quick tangent: Those texts in later episodes didn't fix anything. If Stolas was supposedly used to Ozzie poking fun at him, WHY would he hide his face?!)

He may say he doesn't care about Blitz's social status, but he doesn't understand the struggles imps go through. He still treats imps like crap (i.e. his butler) and uses derogatory terms, "little one", even in the recent ep. 6, Oops. His near-death experience with Striker and his speech about how higher-up demons treat imps didn't teach him anything. The way he constantly spoke down to Blitz in season one is a major reason why Blitz is so distance too.

I may make another post about Stolas's issues since this is getting too long. Just know, he hasn't shown any progression and I hope more people continue to call out this bullshit of a situationship.

୨୧ I feel like Striker would be demisexual/romantic. He’d probably only be intimate with somebody after he put his whole trust and faith in them. It’s implied by S2 Ep4 that he’s lost the people that he cared about before, so It’s an explanation for his hostility. I also think he’d be Bisexual like js look at that one scene in Harvest Moon like i know he was trying to manipulate Blitz butttt;))..

୨୧ Loves mud fights and fist fights, won’t elaborate on this;).

୨୧ While rewatching Harvest Moon Festival, Striker looks a bit old fashioned and traditional compared to the other Imps. So i believe that he def gets his style from watching old western movies when he has the time.

୨୧ Constantly trying to get money for business phones, but he always breaks all of them in a fit of rage (a little canon).

୨୧ Fucking loves Bombproof with every fiber in his body and treats him like a baby in private, also I feel like he’d own more horses and call them his family.

୨୧ In the scenario that he’d be in a relationship with somebody, he’d probably be a bit harsh/ or even cruel at first. He hasn’t experienced that type of shit in a while so he’s grown to know intimacy as a stranger. Striker has a tough shell.

୨୧ Once he’s warmed up to that person, he’d be super overprotective. He doesn’t want to lose another person, and to experience that grief again. Striker wouldn’t be the perfect partner because he still has some flaws within his personality due to being previously scarred, but he’d def ensure that the person he’s romantically involved in is comfortable and reciprocates the same feelings as well.

୨୧ Overall, Striker’s a bit inexperienced with romantic concepts but not completely unfamiliar with it. He wouldn’t mind showing affection, such as occasional cuddles or words of praise.

୨୧ also extra if he were to be your roommate, he’d be extremely messy.. like look at his lair shit is everywhere 😭.

Physical

୨୧ DEF MORE ROUGH AND MESSY HAIRRR. Work gets in the way of his personal hygiene and sometimes he forgets to cut it, making it grow a bit longer. Also fighting takes a lot of effort so no doubt it’s messy 😭.

୨୧ Longer gloves, maybe even normal non-fingerless ones. Striker kills people for a living and he’s legally wanted so I don’t think he’d leave his fingerprints behind that easily.

I also think he’d possess more animalistic features, such as moving around more snake-like and slithery.. def does this to confuse his targets,, like one moment he’s here and then u blink and he’s literally gone.

i cannot fathom how angrynthe whole blitz n stolas thing is making me.. ppl hating on both sides but they r both in the wrong??? stolas saying hes never looked down on him when he HAS. has bro forgot the entirity of season 1?? stolas constantly called him his 'little imp' or his 'little plaything', and never really took him seriously. blitz could see that as mocking. but even then stolas's nickname for blitz is blitzy and he uses it infront of striker implying its a petname not that hes mocking blitz. in the first pilot ep he says along thw lines u do ur job and ill do mine. the whole deal was that in order for blitz to keep using the book was for him to have sex w stolas. so idk... another thing about the book. i think it was his only excuse to keep seeing stolas which is why he begged and begged for it. saying he NEEDS the book. he was about to apologise and you CAN HEAR IT "stolas, wait, im s-" AND THEN HE GETS TELEPORTED OUT... YOU COULD SEE HIM REACHING FOR HIS ROBE.. the fact their argument was where the crystal thing was and its when everything started. . . in an episode when stolas is laying down in the bed and blitz is crawling over to him he eyes the book as its the reason why he was doing it. in apology tour he pushes the book out of the way and is only looking at stolas !>!@>?!?!!@?! he doesnt care ab the book he cares ab STOLAS they both said what they needed to say but i dont think either of them fully took it in. stolas shpuldve let blitz talk but HE DIDNT.. in apology tour you can see his expression change whenever he looks at stolas and it BREAKS ME. and blitz apologises to verosika i think she actually forgave him. instead of calling him blitz-O she just calls him blitz which might imply a friendship or acquaintance in the future.. she gave him cake and left n i think she realised blitz is his own biggest hater. iv3 kinned blitz since the beginning tho i rlly liked moxxie.. silly guy stolas has complete right to be mad at blitz because he cant keep giving himself to someone who wont hear him out. but i beleive when blitz realises he loves him itll be too late. blitz is harder to understand and sympathise for because he lashes out and gets upset by anger. it def has to do with his self hatred. notice how when stolas mentions anything about him leaving blitz splits and starts freaking out. he def has abandoment issues or bpd.. i think him n verosika is a reason why hes too scared to actually commit to another relationship.

they NEED to short shit out and have a gen talk or their situationship will go nowhere. it pains me knowing how bad they both struggle. in apology tour when blitz starts looking at him with a guilty look he sees stolas as his depressed and alcoholic self. and even when the guy asked to dance HE STILL LOOKED AT BLITZ FOR APPROVAL. i dont get why ppl hate on stolas for making out w a guy drunk when blitz did the same thing?? when they are walking down the hall stolas had covered every family photo except for leaving a space for where octavia was and rhat broke me... blitz doesnt believe anyone could actually love him. let alone a prince. and he says this multiple times but i dont think stolas really hears him. their trope is that stolas fell too early and blitz fell too late owls only fall in love once and he's pinged on him since they were kids LIKE ?!!?!?!? if stolas found out that he was bought to spend the day w him i think he'd distance himself even more. i need blitz to break down in stolas's arms like js something. im beginning to believe blitz does feel remorse for his actions and actually starts to feel bad ab what hes done. ghgghghhg this relationship makes me wanna rip my hair out and scream and roll on the floor (I mightve missed some things but this will conclude my rant)

Helluva boss needs to slow down  

I know I know take of the century I'm so big brained  

What I mean is the show is too excited  

Its given us some good episodes sure but goodness  

(You just can’t top Ozzie's there will never be a better episode and I'm trying cope frankly)  

I understand that as a show grows older and is still in development things change visions shifts yeah, I got it.  

But Viv has said that that she plans for Helluva Boss to have multiple seasons like at least 3 or so she has time to work out all her ideas  

Why is she rushing?

This show is so excited to get to the fun stuff they don’t want to build it up. They want Stolas and Blizto’s slow burn and love story but don’t want to really build them up as people outside their relationship or even together in the relationship. anytime blitzo and Stolas hangout together its whenever some other 3rd party is around. In LooLoo Land its Octavia, in Ozzie's its moxxie and Millie, and in Seeing Stars its Octavia again I mean at this point she’s the catalyst for their relationship. When they don’t have someone else involved its sex for the book. Bltzo and Stolas haven't hanged out in a meaningful way. Without sex  

I saw in a tumbler post that in the Helluva boss poster the fact that Stolas is bigger on the poster than the main characters who are small and off to the side. It really tells you how the show is going so far.  

And it's true so?  

If you knew nothing about Helluva boss and saw that poster you’d think Stolas was a main character, the protagonist, or the villain.  

Stolas is in 90% of the episodes and is a side/supporting character, at least that’s what the wiki says.  

A supporting character is supposed to not be important to the main plot but still helpful to the protag  

The folks behind Helluva boss are picking favorites and you can tell in the eps  

How come we didn’t get to Moxxie’s family life till season 2? a main character! But we got to see Stolas family life? A supporting character? and we see his wife her reaction to the cheating, his daughter and her view on the situation. But we don’t know about Moxxies family till season 2 or Millies family where it’s dropped to focus on Moxxie and Striker and the pain games (Sally Mae wasn’t in the pain games).  

Helluva boss made it seem like from episode one it was going to be about a trio of imps and a hellhound going to the human world to kill people for sinners and how many times did they do that? Let's see

Truth seekers off screen at the being (I'm assuming because why would they be on earth as a group? the only people I think who’d go on earth to fuck around is Blizto and Loona)

Like what is this show about? because we haven't got what we were promised like?  

Like I get that helluva Boss is a satirical show and we aren't supposed to really be reading into it but what is it satirizing? hell? Office shows? What?  

Even “edge” adult shows have some semblance of structure or plot you know? Like Rick and Morty or smiling friends (can't wait for more episodes tbh) 

Rick and Morty didn't have an episode about not physically going to alternate universe still what? Ep 8 season 1? I could be wrong  

And Smiling Friends didn’t have Pim and Charlie do their job (I.e., making someone smile) still the Halloween episode or if you don’t count holiday episodes. Episode 5 Who Violently Killed Simon S. Salty   

They stick to the structure of the show for a few episodes and then do other stuff you know?  

Helluva boss was like nah speed run! And did the other stuff in the second episode and didn’t return to it till ep 4. I don’t count Spring Broken because it doesn’t really feel like they're doing their job basically it's not the same set up of sinner comes to them, tell them back story, they go to earth shenanigans ensue, and they kill the target. They've only done their job twice on screen  

Even non adult shows like  

Wonder Over Yander (I'd love another season) they don’t have a story not about Wonder or Syliva till season 1 episode 7 about Westley  

Steven Universe didn’t have a townie episode till episode 5  

In the episodes about killing, we could have gotten more intel on how the characters feel about their job. How they feel about each other and stuff  

Also, this show can't take plot points seriously or do good foreshadowing or set up  

Ok so Ozzie’s my favorite episode I love it :) 

But  

So stolas and Bilzto have a falling out in the end of the episode.

But here’s the thing they messed up the flow with Seeing Stars let me explain (studios)  

It makes since to me that they wouldn’t talk the next episode sure give them time to stew in their misery. sure  

So, the next episode is Queen Bee, then The Circus all goes good gives us some backstory cool

Seeing Starts where Stolas and Blizto are just talking to each other like normal like nothing is happening between them

Don’t say they're worried about Octivia because if that’s the problem they get sidetracked so much and Stolas just forgets about his daughter.  

Like instead of just killing the humans stopping them from getting to Octivia. you're telling me that Blizto couldn’t shoot the van door open? Or overtook the drivers and drove around LA?

Also, the fact that Stolas “has his ways” to find blitzo without his book he couldn’t use that to find Octavia? Really?  

I'm starting to think they aren't royalty. More like upper middle class you know that family with a 2 story house and pool you feel me?  

Because you're telling me that you “need” security to a theme park but you're only child and heir is out here magically unsupervised? wow  

Also, Stolas hasn’t taught Octava how to use the book. You would think that with how many hits he has out for his head he’d teach Octavia to use the book by now. Stolas started when he was like 7? Just saying  

Anyways what I'm saying is they fucked up the flow for western energy.  

If they didn’t have Seeing Stars there it would have been fine frankly

So, first 

Villains we haven't seen again  

The Cherubs and D.O.R.K.S. we haven’t seen then since episode 4 and 6 respectively we don’t know where they are or what they're up to at all.  

The cherubs are a direct conflict to they’re business and the dorks are literally a threat if they catch them all of hell is in trouble and Stolas, Blizto, Moxxie, Mille and Loona (possibly Octivia and Stella if they know about it) are like fucked and will most likely be killed by higher ups for putting everyone in danger. Idk seems more important than Blizto and Stolas sex life  

(Also, if heaven and hell exist for a fact does that mean in the Helluva and Hazbin verse does that mean there are people in hell who didn’t believe in the Christan God? Also, what if they were good people? no wonder hells overcrowded) 

It's fine if they did a villain of the week thing like the powderpuff girls but in PPG the villains came back! No matter how irrelevant or lame (unless it’s the cooties kid then sure also did that episode make anyone else uncomfortable as a kid?)  

Now Villains that did comeback 

Striker, Stella and Crimson or the S.S. Crim. as I call them

So stella was obviously a villain from the start but she didn’t openly threat stolas till Western energy as well as Striker that was his grand entrance. So stella and striker were a threat and stella didn’t show back up still and pose a threat till like 4 or 5 episodes later. Striker didn’t come back till like what 7 or 8 episodes later lol and Crimson only had to wait 2 episodes to come back. Quickest we have so far honestly.  

(also, we were rob of more robot Fizz I like the way they made his voice it was fun to listen to)  

And the reason they came back is because they're popular! And favorites of the fandom and the writers and the creator  

No one's making horny fan edits of the dork agents no one's putting the cherubs in their favorite characters list unless its Collon because Collon is cutest of the 3 so... they got that going for them  

But other than that  

They most likely aren't coming back and if they do color me surprised  

The show keeps setting up problems and setting up major events then just not doing anything with them  

Like?  

If Helluva Boss slowed down then Western energy could have been a perfect way to wrap up Ozzie's, made a call back to Blitzo’s trip in Truth Seekers, and foreshadowed Oops.

Ozzie's(the best episode) , Queen Bee, circus, (get rid of Seeing stars put it in season one or hold off) Exes and Oohs, then western energy 

Give Stolas and Blizto some room to brood over what happened at Ozzie's

Stolas moxxie and Mille just got done fighting Striker to save Stolas (so many s’ in one place lol) or better yet Blizto by himself saving Stupid ass I mean Stolas. Oops sorry  

Because let's be honest the hospital scene was unneeded and Moxxie and Millie could have took Loona to the hospital. It wasn’t a bonding moment between Loona and Blizto it was a waste of animation and time.  

Blizto (and the M&M’S) are fighting Striker having some witty banter back and forth. Striker playing into Blizto’s insecurity about the relationship with Stolas to the point the background of the cave is becoming goopy before fixing itself and they win agent striker as he flees to spouts “I'll get you my pretty and your little dog too!” setting up his return in Oops before one more cheap shot at Stolas maybe dropping a stalactite on Stolas or shooting Stolas with Holy bullet in a place that’s not fully lethal.  

Have stolas think he’s actually going to die from his injuries to keep Stolas from passing out or to stay conscious or whatever have Blizto talk to him (if moxxie and Mille are there have them drive and Blizto is the back with stolas). Stolas is using what little life he has left to apologies to Blizto fully say he’s sorry for getting him in this situation, sorry he put in a situation he doesn’t want to be in for his business, sorry for being embarrassed at Ozzie’s, sorry for treating him like a play toy. Yada yada yada yada  

Have Blizto be covered in the goop from his trip and have some of it drip on Stolas. The person he views as untouchable and clean being corrupted and stained by his goop.  

Have Blizto try to reassure Stolas that he’s going to be ok and that he’s not going to lose him too. Have green flames subtly lick at the background and foreground as he stares at stolas slowly dying. He’s going to lose him but he’s not going to let what he has with Stolas slip from him like his mother, sister, Fizz, Verosika, etc. He’s going to save him like he couldn’t save his mom or Fizzarolli. maybe have the voices from truth seekers whisper failure, loser, and other demeaning things to bilzto.  

Have Blitzo declare he isn't going to let Octavia go through what he went through with the loss of his mom. When they get to the hospital and help is on the way have Blizto about to say something to him like “we’re at the hospital everything is going to be ok” before his sentence cuts off and Stolas is unconscious and unresponsive. Have Blizto yell his name a few times heart broken and worried as the nurses and doctors whisk him away. And a single feather from stolas falls infront of Blitzo as he whispers “please be ok” or a soft sorry  

But hey I’m not writer or showrunner so hey what do I know

so theory about Carmilla being able to kill the angel. (Just be warned while I've seen helluva Boss and some of the supplemental materials for Hazbin with the pilot, I haven't seen everything so this could just be wrong and contradicted in the shows extra lore.

I like the theory that Carmilla was able to kill the executioner to save her daughters since it was an act of love instead of hate, anger, or even self-preservation. doing so is something most beings in hell wouldn't have tried since most don't care for anyone but themselves. While I really like this theory, what if it was something else.

There was something Lute said in ep 1 when she was trying to bully Charlie. That Lucifer gave Charlie and other hellborn a pardon from exorcist blades. What does that mean exactly, can sinners have children and they're exempt from the yearly execution or does this apply to Charlie and imps, and other hellborn races like hellhounds are kept safe from the purge?

Heaven and Hell both run on bureaucracy, the more annoying and inane the better in both cases. It even seems like the more powerful you are the more you're bound by your contract as even someone as powerful as Asmodeus was bound by his word (helluva boss 2.6) and he's probably in the top 10 of hell's hierarchy. So Lucifer getting a pardon for all hellborn might be a problem for exorcists, maybe would screw them over if they tried to execute someone who was born in hell and technically free of worldly sin.

I don't think we know anything about Clara and Odette except they are Carmilla's daughters and work for her. We don't know if they are a family who died and met up in hell, we don't know if their blood related, or if Carmilla had them after being sent to hell. But if she did give birth to them after being sent to hell, they would be hellborn and therefore exempt from being executed. Maybe executing someone who is pardoned from the blade is what caused the exorcist to be vulnerable to Carmilla being able to be able to kill one of them as they broke their laws and aren't allowed divine protection anymore.

Its gonna be him celebrating with them and feeling at home for the first time, feeling loved and appreciated, feeling like he's part of an actual family

and then octavia turning up and just. feeling betrayed that her father is enjoying his banishment even though he's away from her. It probably won't be helping that stella and andrelphus will have been in her ear that whole time

Regarding rise of ning I would've loved if they kept the difference in family ranks that sounds so juicy. But I gotta say regardless of the novel and changes I love them so much it's been a while since I've seen a ship just SO deeply gung ho about each other for her the romantic feelings are subconscious but she will truly do anything and everything for that man and of course he loves her more than anything and it's so beautiful to see.

Yesss, the difference in family ranks is pretty imp in the novel, because the Luo family doesn’t originally live in the capital, only goes there later cause of Luo Shenyuan being an exceptional nerd XD. So when Luo Yining goes to the capital, it is something she deals with, and it also makes Lu Jiaxue an even more inevitable inescapable presence.  Very much agree with you on the main leads’ relationship. Especially in the latest ep, I was squealing when he just envelops her and she briefly questions it before further emphasizing to herself how close siblings they are... I was kicking my feet around the whole timeee, I really wanna see how this develops!

Detective Conan Rewatch 471-486

Oops I forgot to write my thoughts down for a few days again

The uncontrollable rental car was actually top tier tho. I'm used to the single ep anime originals being fairly straightforward but this was unique and the characterization was great. We see Kogoro's best side and action hero dad Tagaki and a really smart trick pulled by Conan to save them all. I really liked this one.

Shinichi Kudo's childhood adventures is super cute! It's really nice to see babby Ran and of course Shiinichi. I almost wish we had more of their past and how they fell in love and the development part of all that but I get why we don't and the snippets we do get are cute. We get to see dad KID too which is fun (and babby Kaito too!) However as my friend pointed out this ep does feel like it confuses the nebulous timeline somewhat? Yukiko's been retired from acting for some time now so her still actively studying from Toichi is odd? Maybe? Maybe it's just her hobby now I dunno.

The love of lawyer Eri Kisaki is funny. It's super simple, especially for anyone who owns a cat but it manages to be great regardless. Ran really nearly assaulted a man 😅 well I'm sure Eri could have gotten her off the charges but still

Bad luck grand Prix is well it's an average episode, i certainly didn't think it was bad but it felt like a regular old episode with nothing super standout. I do like the occasional cases that are Kogoro and Conan hanging out all family like though it's sweet.

Genta's certain kill shot was fun! Mostly because my friend saw the title in advance and we've been choking about Genta's upcoming murder plan for a while XD the actual case is still pretty neat tho, although as usual the English is a little rough. I wouldn't say its common but you probably want imp or pixie to describe a mischievous kid not elf. I also kinda agree with Kogoro that it was mean to point at Genta and call him a murderer poor kid.

Real 30 minutes is an odd case. The time... didn't feel super relevant? The character designs were neat though and Conan and Haibara teaming up is always good.

Three days with Heiji Hattori! My boy was back for some more cases and they're fun ones. The first is neat because it feels like they reiterated Conan's trauma regarding cornering a culprit, almost feel like they could have focused on the impact of that ending and what that means to Conan and Heiji more but eh, it was neat to have it still. As for the detective Koushin I really enjoyed it! I've been looking forward to it a lot since reading that manga chapter and having a gathering of detectives is fun, the culprit is great too, I can see why she's so well liked. It's also great to have Hakuba here too although I gotta admit that yeah he seems pretty Sus of Conan, or perhaps just nice about it who knows. I liked the whole sequence at the beginning regarding the backstory too. And finally Heiji did really great! I like how they show how he differs from most other detectives we see who stand back and observe with methodical coldness by being emotionally invested, always having hope for possible best outcomes and willing to come across as wrong and act to gather the evidence he needs. I love him and this episode did a great job of showing why <3

Yellow Alibi is a sad case with a dumbass for a culprit. Who on earth murders someone on a beach and then tries to hide the fact the murder happened on a beach? Has this man never been to a beach before? You never get all the sand off my god.

Mountain Witch's cutlery is a simple little case but well presented, the weapon was neat and the kids were cute.

The vanished policeman was also a cute little simple case. Not much to say about it other than that tho.

Whereabouts of the dark photograph is fun because the crime differs which is neat every so often. Also those two guys will probably never commit a crime in their lives after that experience XD

Beckoning cat from left to right is simple but hey it has cats and Conan and Haibara teaming up which is nice.

okay... let me start off with "I'm sorry" because I lied and I'm bored, gave H*llavu B*ss a go because my feed is full of it and HH now and I have no impulse control and I also can't leave things unfinished. And HB is free on youtube; I can technically pirate hh but I don't want to be in that much effort for that...

And like, I think it's the same as I feel about that one song from HH. It's not that great, though I guess I can see why people like it? But in a "I don't think you people ever moved past deviant art era plot and art". Which, to be nice, isn't bad by itself but objectively speaking, there is better media and stories out there. All in all, I'm giving it a 2.5/10; I think the best way to summarize HB is that it's a show made for people who were already in love with it before watching it, not a show that tries to win over its audience.

Plot

It is episodic, so I will admit that plot isn't that big of a factor in the series. But I will say that it loses sight of its premise pretty fast. Like, it's advertised and set up as a "wacky hijinks in a found family assassination business", but after the first few episodes or so, it stops showing them doing work/killing people and how they go about that, and focuses more on what happens around or outside of work. For example, ep 6 and 7 just doesn't even show them working and skips straight to the aftermath and what they're going to do after work. The Spring Break episode does show them working, but it glosses over it; IMP is more like a plot device than a premise. Ep 2 straight up has them doing other stuff (aka bodyguarding, something that is explicitly said to be not a service IMP offers). Fuck it, even the Harvest Moon Festival ep is not work-related. For a show that is supposedly centered on IMP and the main cast killing humans on behalf of sinners with a grudge, it doesn't actually interact or play with that concept. And I think it basically drops completely out of focus in Season 2.

And like, I can understand if the show wants to make it more about character dynamics than the business, but the pilot (and ep 1 kind of) promises to explore that *through* IMP work. And that leads into the next big problem with HB

Character

I feel like everyone except Blitzo is underdeveloped, especially the women in the show. We get a lot of insight into Blitzo's motivations and emotional baggage and how he copes with that in unhealthy and asshole-y ways. But literally everyone else is kind of thrown under the bus unless it's relevant to Blitzo. The only character that kind of escapes this treatment (but not wholly) is Moxxie.

But Millie is only defined by how she's Moxxie's wife, and basically nothing else. Loona-- does have some more characterization than Millie, but her biggest-- and basically only-- role in the show is being Blitzo's difficult adopted daughter; her character arc about idk getting more in-touch with her feelings and being more expressive is centered around how she feels about Blitzo. And then the side characters: Octavia and Stella. Octavia is also about being a daughter to her father, and that's kind of it! Even though she's struggling with her parents' (incoming) divorce, she's only shown to be interacting/having an emotional connection with Stolas; Stella is never in the picture. Stella is-- just a major bitch, and that's it. That's all she has to her character.

But Octavia and Stella are side characters, so I can accept them having pretty flat personalities, but Millie and Loona? Those two are part of the main fucking cast. How are they being sidelined this hard??

I think a lot of the show revolves around Blitzo, so if the characters don't matter to him or don't bounce off well with him, they kind of get shafted by the writing. Like Millie. She is just generally so easygoing with Blitzo's antics that there's nothing for Blitzo to really react to there, so she's just essentially a background character.

Speaking of, almost all the characters and relationships are kind of built to parallel Blitzo and Stolitz (we'll get to this ship in a minute). Like, Moxxie is supposed to be a nice foil to Blitzo because they're both afraid of rejection, but they deal with that in opposite ways; Moxxie is polite, professional, no backbone because he doesn't want confrontation lest it lead to rejection whereas Blitzo is crass and a dick about everything so he can push people away before they reject/hurt him. And they both want to be loved, but Moxxie has a healthy relationship with Millie whereas Blitzo has no such thing in his life, so another contrast. And also daddy issues.

This is okay on its own. It makes a compelling dynamic between Blitzo as a boss and friend to Moxxie.

But then they do this for almost every character?? Loona (basically) has daddy issues and can't express herself that well because she's under-socialized and Trauma, Octavia is a daddy's girl and is too emo to communicate her feelings, Stolas has daddy issues and also communication issues, Fizzarolli has daddy issues (when he doesn't need to???)

And then there's the fact that it feels like the other relationships we see are supposed to work as parallels/foils to Stolitz as well? Moxxie and Millie and happy and healthy and committed, unlike Stolitz. Fizz and Asmodeus manage to work around that class disparity/power imbalance because they can communicate with each other, unlike Stoliz. They kind of just function as a "this is what Stolitz could be if they got over themselves and talked"

And generational trauma and the desire to be loved can be a major and shared theme, but there should at least be nuance between each representation of it?? These are literally all the same in that it boils down to "I don't know how to ask for proper intimacy".

Ships

There's only one main ship and it's Stolitz, and... I find it compelling?? But it's just not executed well enough. They just rush through the development, so when the show actually reveals that there's mutual attraction, it just feels like it comes out of nowhere and the audience has to do a lot of the legwork to figure out what the fuck happened from point a to point b.

It's also like, it steals a lot of attention from other aspects of the show. I feel like a lot of Season 2 episodes kind of focuses more on that relationship in favor of other characters who need screen time and development (like Millie)

I could give a really long analysis on Stolitz, but I'm just going to say that the problem kind of just boils down to the show doesn't sell that they actually feel genuine affection for each other. I can see them projecting their own emotional baggage onto the other and using each other, but there's no transition from the transactional relationship they have in the beginning to liking each other as people. In fact, I don't think they even know each other outside of sex and work. Which is bad. Because I can buy them fucking up communicating their wants and thus settling for fucking each other for "professional" reasons, but if the show really wants to sell this ship, there has to be something genuine between them that draws them to each other.

Which is to say, Stolitz is a ship for people who already love and want the ship, not for people who are just There. As in, the show seems to make the assumption that the audience wants this ship to happen and that the ship will happen, so they don't really take the time to establish a solid foundation and growth arc for it. It just feels like big emotional or romantic moments without the actual necessary context to make it work. Which is just a problem for the general show.

Pacing

It's bad. It's so bad. I can understand leaving arcs unresolved for a bit so that there's suspense or whatever, but they keep adding more arcs and problems while leaving unfinished plotlines unfinished. Only to then resolve it super quickly. Like ??????? It's all so cramped and rushed-- but then they sometimes slow it down in the worst way possible in that it just kind of ignores previous developments for a one-off episode or something (like S2 Ep 2 where they just ignore the Stolitz drama for wacky adventure in the human world and Stolas and Blitzo are just acting like nothing wrong happened). (And I Know! I know they showed details in the background that explain that this happens because both of them are ignoring the problem, but even so, they shouldn't be acting so casual with each other; it should be made more clear that they're both still uncomfortable but *acting*) (and something that changes the relationship should be shown to the audience clearly? Not just put in as "blink and you'll miss it" text messages??)

And sometimes this rushed pacing leads to info-dumps or telling, not showing. Like with Stolas' focus episode where we learn his backstory. It's not super bad, but it weakens the impact of big plot moments; we just hear Stolas saying he endured his loveless marriage for his daughter, but we. never really see that...? The times he's with her when she's a child doesn't count because Stella's not a picture in that. The one time we kind of see something related to this statement is when Stella's kind of being loud in the kitchen and he checks in on her sleeping peacefully, but like. That's not really and example of him enduring Stella's temper and insults for Octavia's sake. He hasn't even seen Stella at all before he drops by Octavia's room. The next time is when Stella is throwing an imp at him in the kitchen and Stolas is trying to be... nice? reasonable? But at this point, I think it's clear to Octavia that her parents don't love each other. And even then, we never really see him paying attention to her or expressing concern about what Octavia might think or feel during the fight, or trying to reassure her that this is just a normal spat between married couples afterwards as damage control. We can just take his word for it, but it's just not as powerful. I'd say the same goes for when we learn about Moxxie and his father/traumatic childhood. Would've been great to see how he struggles with that specifically or had more clues to that before we see him completely resolve to stand up to his father.

It just feels like the show itself expects the audience to be completely in love with it, so it doesn't really bother to develop its world or characters until Big Emotional Moments and at that point, it just gives the necessary context to pull it off real fast, so everything just feels so... compact and dense and not very natural. It's not trying to sell itself to a new audience, it's catering to an audience that's been supporting them since the pilot.

Did you see the Kiner brothers' twitter post? The one with Wrecker fishing? I have a feeling we are going to see a bit more of Pabu and I am STOKED- I love Mamma Mia and this greek vibe is awesome (irl Greece is cool too though, I recommend going there if you have the opportunity). And I am in the same camp as you! I really want to see the inside of the archium. I remember in the episode with the giant laser mech monster thing they referenced something to the Jedi and the entire episode I was like "ancient Jedi??????". Kind of bummed out we didn't get to see ancient lightsabers or other old Jedi memorabilia, but maybe the archium has something to scratch that itch, who knows!

As for the temple theory, I didn't really think about that, but maaaaybe???? But knowing that the empire likes to set up camp on Jedi temple sites and the plausibility of Pabu being on Scarff which gets turned into an imperial base later on, maybe you are right. Although personally, I didn't get the temple vibe from the archium.

Yeah! The clone dream team! But then, if they show up in force (teehee), it would be harder for the empire to get hold of Omega, so I don't think we will see a big team-up in the next three episodes (but maybe we will get Wolffe's story in the 3rd season?).

Really? I think the job of a voice actor is really cool! Would love to give it a try, but I have a truly horrid voice haha I wish you luck on your VA journey!

Sweet jesus, I watched the clone wars for the first time 2 years ago and I've only rewatched some arcs 3 or 4 times, how do you do this?! Now I feel like I am talking to a TBB expert! And I thought I was obsessed with the show!

That's kind of a bummer if the s2 finale turns out to be the same length as s1 :( although that's still 50 minutes if tbb content, better than half of that!

Well, Rebels had 4 seasons, so tbb having 4 seasons too would make sense. It would also make sense to have a bit more than that and end tbb the moment that rebels start, so we have an unbroken timeline from TCW -> TBB -> Rebels. (But seeing them get old like Rex did would hurt as hell, especially since Omega doesn't age like a typical clone, so she would be a young adult by that point, while her entire family consists of old geezers who complain about backaches and kids messing up their lawns)

Oh yeah, so far so good, but I really want to see more of this transition, so maybe tbb teams up with delta squad against Storms, or maybe we see some kind of rivalry between the new recruits and the experienced clones in the Imp. army, maybe we could also get the general public's opinion of clone vs stormtrooper. I know we kind of saw that already with Cross's episodes and old man Rex episodes from Rebels, but I really want that clone-storm relationship to be even more in-depth.

As for the somehow Palpatine returned I think it was really just a fuck-up on the Disney Star Wars side. Johnson killed of Snoke in ep.8, who was shaping out to be the big bad of the sequel trilogy, but since he was now gone, they had to scramble to pull something out of their asses. And since, well, the somehow part was never properly explained in the movie and the audiences were furious about this line (and 4 years after this movie's release people are still making fun of it), Disney realised they have to do what TCW did for the prequel trilogy and fill in the blanks ad hoc.

And well, TBB has been really entertaining and I am saying this as someone who doesn't give two flying fucks about the sequels- aside from cloning, which in itself is still an interesting topic, tbb has so many other plotlines and just, stuff, that make it so appealing to me! So if it manages to make TRoS better somehow- great! If it doesn't, no big deal for me.

I am personally more of a crack fic/fluff/humourous fanfic person, but this show has awoken an angsty beast in me and I have so many angsty tbb wips cooking up in my notes! Mwhahaha!

So, theory: Cid didn't sound...normal? the last time she contacted the guys and it's actually because the empire has gotten hold of her to try to bait the bad batch into coming into contact with her again. Well, that didn't work, so Cid suggests contacting Echo alone and tells him about Cross needing help (she knows the group has split) and that checks the "Cid is going to betray them" checkbox. Echo and Rex fall for it, contact the rest of the batch because they are going to need as much help as they can get in infiltrating Tantiss, and head to Pabu to rendezvous. That's where we get the long awaited Echo and Omega reunion. The group head to Tantiss, get Crosshair out, but in the process Omega is captured. They are forced to leave her to save injured/drugged/traumatised/comatose Cross and themselves. We open season 3 on Omega being experimented on or being mistreated to get Nala Se to cooperate.

1. The Stolas pic (aka the one that wrecked me)

Awh, lookie.

This is probably one of the first times that we get a sign from BLITZ that he doesn't see Stolas only as a transactional fucker and instead somewhat appreciates his company. So far most of the time all the affection signs came from Stolas, with Blitz not being very receptive. But here, Stolas is asleep, so Blitz's taking the pic for himself, bc he wants to have the memory on his phone. This pic, tied up with Blitz's sad comment about how Stolas has made it very clear he's just a fucktoy just tugged my heart bc Blitz's wants more from him, but can't reach it

2. Da crew

Oh my fucking god this fucker just wants a family so bad he has no self awareness whatsoever, bc he's clearly not supposed to be there. This one actually made me wonder about a few things. I don't think it's been clarified how long IMP has been in business for, and we learned Moxxie and Millie have been married for a year. Could it be that maybe they met each other when Millie went to work for IMP, since she's not in Moxxie's sign up pic? If so, that must have been so painful for Blitz, seeing his two employees getting closer and leaving him behind as they became a family and he was just work for them. The poor imp

4. He has a daughter now!!

LOOK HOW HAPPY HE IS! This one raises so many questions. I do wonder what happened to Loona's family, or if she had one to begin with. Also how did Blitz come across her in the first place? Did he know her parents? Was she an orphan he came accross? I WANT ANSWERS

But awh, Blitz wanted a child so he went and got one. Now we need a sad ep about how she wants him too

5. Oh my god they were actually a happy couple

I think most people assumed that Blitz and Verosika had a very surface level relationship, but here it kinda seems to imply they were happy at least for a while. If Blitz has his walls up bc he can't accept love and is scared of being hurt so he shuts himself out it makes sense he'd drift away from her and thus that's why she says he was selfish. He didn't mean to be, but he's too scared of being hurt if he loses someone he loves, so he doesnt let himself be vulnerable, so he becomes selfish, and so he loses the ones he loves. He's his own worst enemy, but i dont think he sees that

6. Oh he actually fucked that clown

BABY BLITZ!! TEEN BLITZ!! He was actually friends with Fiz?? I didnt see that coming. I thought they just worked together?? Holy shit. What did he do to lose such a long time friend? He was clearly unhappy in the Loo Loo Land flashback. Best guess is that he got jealous of Fiz's success and that drove them apart but who knows...

ep 12 as a sequent to ep 8 and pranpat's decision

i think many ppl that are upset about pranpat's ending are ones that have terrible parents but aren't asian. and ur allowed to dislike it, to be upset about it, this isn't to say ur not. but i wish they'd stop calling the ending pointless or gmmtv's bait or character development being negated or whatever. bc its not. whether it's been interpreted as such or no, it is a happy ending. this isn't just a love story you've been watching, it's a v asian love story about two thai boys so ofc this kind of ending is the one that makes sense. it makes me upset bc this is a story told by a gay asian man for other gay asian kids, and every step in the story making process was a carefully thought out, conscious decision. this story was meant to give us the message of hope, that things will be alright, not now necessary, but once ur grown. and that was a message i really needed to hear.

onto our leads: pat was the kind of person who didn't like hiding, while pran was the kind to hide behind his lies and secrets. pat didn't lie bc he found them pointless having never dealt w the consequences of the truth, while pran too hated lying but knew he had no other choice to protect himself.

but pat doesn't actually mind lying or hiding. he does this again and again when he tells his father he'll play rugby, when he tries to hide the truth from uncle tong. pat recognizes where the truth can be conflicting and will hide it, while its pran who inherently hates lies. pran won't lie unless its to protect. pat won't speak his truth unless its necessary, unless it matters to him. and pat has few things that truly matter to him. that's why he hates hiding pran so much. bc pran is the most imp piece of his life, pran is his past, present and future, pran is a half of him. and pat can't lie if it means concealing parts of him, bc to him that's an act of injustice towards himself.

in ep 8, pat doesn't mind lying to his father at all, bc here he knows its necessary. then he's discovered and for the first time he's faced consequences, i.e., his dad's disappointment. and thru that we're shown how much power his father holds over him. in ep 12, he still doesn't mind lying to his father, but this time it's bc he's lost that kind of respect for him. its bc he doesn't think he owes his father the truth anymore, that his father isn't a big enough person for it. and this itself is growth. earlier, even when pat knew his father was wrong, even when his father would push him into doing things he didn't like, pat wouldn't argue, would simply nod along. bc he put his father above everything else.

the revelation caused his veneration for his father to plummet, but its not the revelation itself that causes pat to set boundaries w his father. its how in spite of it being in the open now - that ming caused the family feud and all - this man still won't set his ego aside and allow pat to be w pran. its that heartbreaking moment where u first see ur parent in clear lights, and realize they're not even close to the divinity u imagined they were, that they're just some nasty, ugly human. and so pat doesn't care about lying to him anymore. he doesn't deserve pat's truth. for the pat who asked pran if he should quit the play for his father to become the pat who works for his father but not with him - that itself is growth. tossing his father down that pedestal finally was pat's development.

then, from pran, he learns that hiding this from others doesn't make him less true to himself. when pran tells him about his intent to become a musician in the future, pat learns that sometimes swallowing ur truth isn't an act of violence towards urself, but one of defiance towards the world. that if ppl refuse to accept a part of u, its pointless to tire urself out fighting them, its okay to bury that part of urself for the time being. it isn't ur loss, its theirs. he learns his love isn't larger if it's announced to the world, and can be just as humongous when its silent, that shouting his love from rooftops can be cathartic but isn't absolutely necessary in order to substantiate it.

also in ep 8, we see pran reacting violently to public hand-holding, to pat taking pictures of them, to pat posting stories that are too revealing, to pat wearing his shirt in open. its his fear, here, that everything will be snatched from him if they reveal it, that he'll lose pat again if someone were to find out and he can't tolerate the idea of it, won't confide to pat the depth of his fears, so it ends up as a conflict btw the two. in ep 12 thou? pran will hook his pinky with w pat amongst a throng of unknowing friends, pran and pat have a whole picture wall in their flat, pran sends alcohol to pat's father, pran allows pat's laughter to boom across a room just a floor above his mother.

pran's no longer afraid. he knows nothing in the world could separate him and pat, he knows this won't end in heartbreak, so he's the one that becomes unabashedly open. he continues to lie like he always has, but where he'd leave his guitar outside their home for his mother, he serenades pat into his room now. more than lying, he's taunting. its that conversation he had w his mother from ep 10: about asking for but hating the truth. its the culmination of that: now pran lies to her, then openly goes behind her back to say 'this is what u wanted, r u happy to see me live life on ur terms?'

pran lived his whole life locked in the safety of a shell he'd built around himself. by the time he realized the shell was weakening his heart more than it was shielding it, he'd forgotten how to crawl out of it. its pat who guides him back out, one step at a time. pat becomes his knight in shining armor, rescues him from the locked tower. its from pat that he learns to vocalize his feelings, pat who doesn't lash out at him unexpectedly, who simply imbibes his truth. its pat who teaches him that sharing ur load w others isn't burdening them, but lightening each of ur loads. pat is the one who taught him that it's possible for him to be accepted just as he is - with all his beauty and ugliness intact - the way he's always accepted others.

ep12 was such a perfect mirror to ep8. where pat couldn't bear to keep them a secret and pran was too afraid of being found out, pat now learns their love doesn't need to be announced to the world to remain valid or for them to stay true to themselves, while pran understands why pat wanted to be loud about his relationship, he's the one who doesn't hold his laughter, the one to send his father-in-law gifts.

pat still resents that he can't enter thru the front door. and pran still prefers keeping romance to themselves, unwilling to share it w their high school friends just yet. but this time its out of his own choice not his fear, this time pat accepts bc he too finds this game fun, not bc he thinks its a sacrifice he needs to make for pran.

they've reached a middle ground, one they've had to repeatedly built being such different ppl. they're good at it when it's just the two of them, when they haven't been forced out in the open. they take small, small unrushed steps towards the other, going at their own pace. pran adds a fourth wonton to his noodle soup and pat tidies their bed in the morning. pran cooks for them and pat's the designated driver. when it's btw the two of them, there's no real obstacle in their path, bc for how different they are from each other, they're just as willing to reach a compromise.

so its alright. they both know this isn't permanent. they're no longer financially dependent teens that have to return to their parents. once pran comes back from singapore, i doubt they're gonna keep this lie up much longer (esp w marriage on the table). once pran returns home, they'll probably bring the other home and be like, 'yeah lol we got back together' and their parents won't be able to do shit about it (nor would they want to).

no, this isn't a sad ending for them. to go back to keeping a secret that was hurting them, bc now it doesn't hurt them, now its on their own terms. they're from a society where shunning parents - who aren't outright criminals - would make them bad ppl, where they're told to live their lives the way their parents want for as long as they're under their roof. and so pran and pat obey. defiantly.

what's important is that they don't do so for society or their cultural values or even their parents. if they'd chosen to temporarily breakup they wouldn't be able to carry on w/o each other. if they'd chosen to keep fighting, they'd be the ones who'd suffer. and when they'd return to each other battered , the sharp splinters of their broken bones would cut the other. it'd lead to fights like in ep 8 and ep 11, fights caused by their inability to separate themselves from the very external factors they're defying. in doing so, they'd put their love on stake, their love would dim carrying the blunt of those blows.

what pran and pat did was choosing each other, choosing their love above everything else. ofc it was a sacrifice they had to make, returning to hiding when neither of them wanted that. but they also no longer mind. ofc its unfair that'd they'd have to return to that after fighting so much. but its bc they've fought so many battles, they knew that wasn't a war they were prepared to win. they knew they'd get hurt again and again, they'd have to watch the other in pain too. and their sacred, euphoric love would be torn apart till it would turn into smth possibly irredeemable. so they readily made that sacrifice. they put cherishing their love over all else, even their freedom. they chose each other above everything else. that was their happy ending.

p.s. also want to point out that in asian cultures all forms of love center around compromise and sacrifice. whatever path pran and pat took they'd end up sacrificing smth - forsaking either their parents or each other. compared to that their freedom was a much smaller price. the ideal to us would be the parents acceptance, while to western audiences it'd be fighting or abandoning their parents. the latter really isn't much of a choice to us, fighting is tiring, abandoning is impossible when there's so much love interwoven w that pain. the former wasn't immediately possible bc p'aof wants us to know that pran and pat's parents are not good ppl, their love for their children isn't above their pride. they're not good ppl but pran and pat love them, that's why this was the best outcome.

A few of my thoughts on Helluva Boss I need to get off my chest. Contains hella lots of spoilers (ofc).

As I finished the current season one and two eps from season two twice, I can see some things I didn't get earlier.

1. Millie and Moxxie

These two are really nicely presented as an ideal couple (ngl I'm jealous). Moxxie kinda gets his own arc more or less solved. I'd be interested on seeing more of Millie tho. She kinda only seconds Moxxie and has no other prominent role, which is a shame cuz that gurl deserves it. So far their relationship was harmonic and with the sneam peek on a possible Moxxie's ex boyfriend, I'd be interested in a marriage crisis arc of these two imps.

2. Loona and Octavia

In the last episode, it seemed like these two girls bonded over their fathers' fuckups and I'd like to see them helping each other in the tough situations they both are. Loona needs to learn how to rely on people and how to open to Blitzø more as he genuinely likes her (though more on that later). Octavia has to face her family being torn apart mainly cuz of her abusive mother tormenting her husband. Thankfully Stolas tries to assure her he's gonna be always there for her, which seems to work better on her depression. But having a friend in the same situation could help emotionally both girls.

3. Stella

She's a bitch. That's a fact. But sadly there's nothing, that would tell us why she is the way she is. Is it just the way she was brought up? Did she grow up in a toxic environment, that forced her to try and prove others that she's the one who has a high status? Or her personality is simply that bad on its own? I have a lot of questions regarding Stella and eventhough she's not very lovable character, I believe she is not that evil just because. I think there is some kind of reason, being it her upbringing or a toxic parent or anger issues. Which kinda makes me want some kind of character expansion of her.

4. Stolas

The last few episodes kinda took Stolas from the Supporting character realm and put him to the front, among the main characters. He loevs Blitzø but since Blitzø is more or less showing him he's not emotionally involved into their relationship, Stolas gets the idea that his love is not reciprocated. When the season one ends on a cliffhanger, leaving Stolas heartbroken and rejected, it appears as if Stolas decided to let Blitzø go for good. And I honestly don't know what to think about it. On one hand I get that Stolas is trying to release himself from all those years of various toxic relationships and I support that very much. He deserves to be happy and finally have a normal, loving and intimate relationship. On the other hand, he doesn't show Blitzø his own feelings, probably because he's scared he could lose the dysfunctional connection they share. He's just a very emotionally scarred and touch/emotion/connection starved insecure individual.

5. And finally... Blitzø

The main character turned out to be the most complicated one. At first he appeares to be a sarcastic, egoistical and killing-loving asshole. But he's so much more than that. His relationships are all a mess, mainly cuz of his internal issues. He is overprotective of Loona, partly because he loves her as a daughter, partly because he unconsciously uses her as a means to get some kind of emotional connection to feel loved even a bit. That's also obvious when he's forced to play in a tv show in the s2e2 and is supposed to give the dog to the hands of a girl but he suddenly gets overly attached to the dog and is scared to let him go as other people could hurt him like other people hurt Blitzø. That scene clearly shows Blitzø is not okay. He spies on MxM because he's fascinated/jealous of their idyllic relationship and craves that kind of intimacy. This also shows he's scared to get close to other people because all of his relationships ended up being either toxic or a failure. His ex Verosica or former friend Fizzarolli are a nice example of currently known failed relationships. Lots of reasons as to why he ended up this way is not even known because we got to know only his father, who practically abused him and used him to steal from stolas (and maybe more). We don't know what relationship he has with his sister and we know nothing about his mother. Also then there's the debate on his white spots. I believe because of those shapes and quantity, that they're scars and that he got then in some kind of na accident. In the Acid dream, it is shown that his mind is a chaotic messed up shit, that need some serious improvement and in the first episode he declares he regularly visits a therapist. Which makes me wonder how messed up he was before current events.

6. Blitzø and Stolas

Blitzø's relationship (if we can call it like that) with Stolas is just a giant clusterfuck of a mess (apparently like everything in Blitzø's life). They both declare they basically just use each other for personal gain, while both crave intimacy. Stolas is crushing over Blitzø and after watching everythimg for the second time, it's apparent he bends into everything he thinks Blitzø likes (i.e. dirty talk, kinks, etc.). When Blitzø asks him out on a date (sort of), he's genuinely happy and hopes for them to move into a serious relationship direction, which is why he's so devastated when he sees the lack of Blitzø's interest and realizes he used him yet again. And that makes him to seemingly decide to leave him for good. And Blitzø is once again just ruining everything because of his problem with letting people get close to him. He's scared of letting Stolas close to him. He's scared of what others will think of him for having sex with a prince (and Stolas not defending them doesn't help at all). And so he doesn't show Stolas that he cares for him. He doesn't show Stolas that he's interested in him. Seriously, these two are a prime example of #mutual pining and #idiots in love tags. They need some kind of a crisis to pull them out of their overprotective shells, man up and spill their confessions. To which Stolas leaving Blitzø could be a possible opportunity, though I'm scared that they both could just assume things didn't work out between then and move on, which we don't want to. They need to heal separately and together first to have the type of ideal and loving intimate relationship they both so desire. But first, Blitzø needs to be honest and Stolas more confident.

That's the end of my rant. I'm curious as to what the show has to offer because it's hella good and we like that. Comment ur Helluva Boss theories and ideas down below, I'd like to know other people's opinions on the characters and their dynamics as well.
