in order to be “jest like yer deddy” (the redneck father’s daughter), one must grow up glued to their father’s side.
my father was a redneck and i was glued to his side. which means i’ve done a whole lotta redneck bull hockey and tom foolery in the name of spending time with dear old dad.
i spent a lot of my october and november weekends sitting on an upturned five gallon bucket watching my breath fog while waiting for the sun to come up so i’d have enough light to read whatever book my dad bought me to keep me quiet.
and he needed me to be quiet because he was dove hunting and i was seldom ever not in his line of sight, so i’d tag along and he’d indulge me and buy me stories even though i had no interest in the hunt.
i’m sure there’s an irony in my loving my dad so much i’d sit in the cold just to watch him kill things, but that’s not the point of this.
anyway. the sun would come up, i’d be placed a good ten feet behind all these men and their guns, my dad would make sure my earplugs were secure and my nose wasn’t too cold, and then they’d open fire.
once a bird was shot, they’d go and get it. i can’t remember what they did with them. that part doesn’t matter.
but what i do remember is after the safeties were on and the shotgun barrels were pointed skyward, my dad would “let” me run out and get the birds for him.
i say “let” because when i was a kid i thought bird fetching was a very important and serious job.
he died a few months ago and our relationship got complicated in the way they’re bound to do when daughters realize pain is something they inherit from their fathers.
when i was writing his eulogy i was thinking of happy childhood thoughts and i remembered the “hunting trips.” and how big and important i felt being the one who went to get the birds.
he’d shoot. i’d fetch. he’d tell me to sit. and we’d do it over and over and over again. and that’s when the revelation came.
i was the fucking bird dog.

you and rafe had spent the whole afternoon together and it had been everything and more. just like he had promised the other week, he was showing you around LA and never leaving your side.
the sun was beginning to set, painting the sky in shades of pink and orange as you walked along venice beach, his fingers brushing against yours in a way that made your heart race.
"you know," rafe said with a smile, glancing over at you, "i’m glad we’re doing this. not just the tour thing, but... you and me, this."
his words hit differently now, sitting down on the beach to watch the gentle waves and the sky change colours.
you looked over at him, "me too," you said softly, a smile tugging at your lips.
he grinned back, his playful energy still present, but a hint of seriousness took over him. "i've never done this before." he admitted.
"done what?" you asked him.
"caught feelings like this." he spoke softly, almost scared to say the words out loud.
you reached out to touch his cheek, "me neither rafe." you held his gaze, "there's still so much we have to learn about each other."
"i know, and that's what i'm scared of."
"why?" you questioned.
"i'm scared you won't like the version of me you uncover. i'm not good with my words but, i didn't used to be a good person. i was addicted to drugs, i bought girls home every night to fill a void, i was so unhappy and treated people so badly. but this," he stuck his hands out and pointed between the two of you, "i've never experienced this."
his truth taking you by surprise, but making your heart swell that he was opening up to you this way. "i'm not scared rafe. the rafe i know now is a good guy. i've never met someone like you and i want to know all parts of you even those that you think i won't like."
rafe let out a soft, almost shaky breath at your words. it was as if you had taken a weight off his shoulders without even realising it. his eyes softened, and the air between you two stilled for a moment.
his eyes didn't leave yours, no response was needed, but he pulled you in for a soft kiss full of emotion.
he pulled away to stare at you for a moment, searching your face for any sign of doubt, but there was none.
"i’ve been thinking about you a lot," he admitted, almost too quietly. "more than i thought i would. i know we’re still figuring things out, but i can’t help but want to be around you. want to be better because of you."
your heart fluttered at the honesty in his words, the vulnerability making you weak, all laid out in front you.
"rafe, you’re already better. you’ve made it this far and the fact that you're here with me, saying this stuff, shows me just how far you've come. you don’t have to prove anything."
his lips parted as if he was going to say something, but instead, he just smiled. without another word, he reached out, carefully taking your hand into his, the touch gentle, giving it a reassuring squeeze.
after many hours had passed of gentle touches and soft conversation, you headed back to the hotel in time to join the others and pack before your flight back home tomorrow.
your chest was full of happiness, feeling ready for what was to come.

Grumpy - Head coach (aka manager)! Leah x arsenal! r
Tumblr media
Summary: Reader messes up on her first day at Arsenal, and Leah, being her usual grumpy self, doesn’t make things any easier.
Warnings: A bit of angst + McCabe walking in on R and L in a rather awkward moment.
Word count: 2.6k

This is a new universe I'm writing about, so just let me know if you guys enjoy it and if you have any requests! <3
..
Leah Williamson became a living legend after leading the Lionesses to yet another win in the Euros 2025 as the team captain and a defender. Unfortunately, for her, 2025 was the last year she played as a professional footballer, having suffered a career-ending injury at the end of the season.
Leah was completely distraught when she got the news. She isolated herself from everyone she knew, finding it hard to discover another purpose in life. That was, until Leah’s formal coach, Serina, stepped in and invited the blonde to some coffee in North London.
“I think I know what would help you,” Serina said, taking a sip of her cappuccino.
“Are you going to give me a new knee?” Leah asked, a hint of madness in her voice. Everybody thought they could help her, but in reality, half of her friends couldn’t even understand what was going on inside her head.
Sarina ignored Leah’s mood. “Belgium has one of the best coaching center in the world. I went there, Renée too. If you could get a coaching certificate, you could start working as an assistant, or as a youth coach at Arsenal. You’ve been there since you were a kid, and with your history Arsenal’s management would be mad not to give you a chance.”
“Coach?”
“Why not? You have a football brain, you have good leadership, people trust you. You are a full package,” Sarina responded. “Just think about it, will you?”
Sarina left the coffee shop, leaving a contemplative Leah behind.
..
“If you need anything, you have my number.” Renée’s voice echoed through Arsenal’s training grounds.
It was Renée’s last day as the head coach. Three years ago, Leah went to Brussels and got her coaching certificate. It wasn’t as hard as she thought it would be.
She was already very keen on football. After eight months of entering the Coach Academy, Leah was ready to start a new chapter of her life: assistant manager of Arsenal, alongside Renée.
The whole time Leah spent as Renée’s assistant was very productive. Leah learned a lot from the older woman, but Leah couldn’t wait to the day she would be officially named Head Coach, aka Manager. As an assistant, Leah had some type of power to make strategic changes during a match and give her two cents on matters of hiring new players, but still wasn’t enough.
Leah promised herself she wouldn’t stop until she became the manager of Arsenal women. She would build her dream team and be the best manager she could be.
And that’s what Leah did.
Renée decided to retire, and Arsenal agreed to sign Leah Williamson—the ex-captain of England Nacional team and Gunner-born—to their team.
“I have everything under control, Renée. You know I’ve been wanting your manager position for a long time.” Leah said with a smirk. “The only thing you have to worry about is your wife and daughter, alright, mate? You’ve already done a lot for arsenal.”
Both Leah and Renée were wearing Arsenal’s matching outfits. They had just left a small farewell party on the Arsenal’s event room; almost all players were there to say their goodbyes to Renée, and of course, welcome Leah into her new position.
“Still, Williamson, if you need any help, tips or even a friendly shoulder, just know that I’m here,” Renée insisted. The older woman was carrying a box in her arms, the outside having Once a gunner, always a gunner written on it.
Leah stared at the box, she had seen Renée packing things up in her office earlier that day, carefully putting pictures, books and even newspapers articles about Arsenal inside the container. It being full meant that Leah’s new office was officially ready for her to take in.
Both women walked through the front door of the Arsenal Training Grounds, and a cold breeze met Leah in the face, making the women shivered. Renée looked at the busy street ahead of her until she pointed to a black Audi A3. “That’s mine, guess I’ll go then,” Renée said, a bittersweet smile on her face.
Before Renée could walk, Leah gave her a hug. “Thank you for everything, If I ever need you, I’ll give you a call.”
Renée hugged the blonde woman back before heading to her car. Before she could open the driver’s door she turned to Leah.
“Don’t forget about the new girl coming in tomorrow, Leah. You’ll have to show her around and everything, plus she’s not from the UK, so—”
“Renée don’t worry!  Y/n is coming tomorrow at 9am, I have everything planned out,” Leah rolled her eyes playfully.
Leah watched as the ex-Arsenal manager got into the car and left.
Leah Williamson. New Head Manager, now official.
..
Leah thought her first day as Manager would be unfazed. What could go wrong? It was her first day of manager, of course, but it wasn’t like she was completely new to it. The team hadn’t changed much compared to last season, aside from Y/n, the newest Arsenal player.
And Y/n was exactly what made Leah’s day go wrong.
It was 9:37 am and the girl was nowhere to be seen.
Leah was waiting alongside the media team to greet and get to know Y/n officially for the first time. Leah didn’t participate a lot in Y/n’s hiring; it was mostly Renée doing the work of checking her statistics and all the bureaucracy of recruiting someone from another country. Leah didn’t even agree with Renée at first, she couldn’t see why Arsenal needed another defender.
“Arsenal needs a sweeper,” Renée had argued during one of their meetings. “Someone who is faster, logical but not aggressive. This kid Y/n is great for the position.”
“Leah, we really to get going, we need to take solo photos of the players, maybe when Y/n gets here we can try to make a small welcoming video, or something,” Clarice, the media director said as she looked at her watch. “I mean she is very late, and we have so much to do—”
“Yeah, of course, Clarice, you all can go. If she arrives, I’ll give you a call,” Leah said, impatience clear in her voice
How can someone be late for their first day of training? It was clear to Leah that Y/n didn’t care so much about being the priciest Arsenal hiring in the last 10 years since she didn’t worry about actually coming to training.
Leah walked around, tapping her foot against the pavement. 5 minutes. Leah would wait 5 more minutes and if Y/n wasn’t here, she would go inside, into her office and let the new girl fend for herself. Leah was busy and she needed to watch a bunch of matches to study Arsenal’s future opponents, but instead she was here waiting for this girl like a fool.
9:42am.
Leah turned around, heading to the door. feeling stupid about waiting on someone who was not coming.
Before Leah stepped into the building, she felt a warm hand on her shoulder and turned around slowly, not enjoying the non-welcoming physical touch. Leah locked eyes with a girl.
Y/n.
Leah, for some reason, was expecting to find the girl in full footballer mode, perhaps with her hair tied back, or dirty clothing from and intense match, but Leah was not expecting to find a very… cute girl instead. Leah had only watched the videos Renée sent of Y/n on the pitch, so she was rather surprised to see the new girl didn’t naturally have grass all over her hair.
Y/n was wearing what looked to be five layers of clothing, and a coat which was way too big for her. She was wearing very inappropriate shoes for the light layer of snow accumulation on the floor. It was like Y/n didn’t know how to dress for cold weather.
Before Leah could blink, the new girl began rambling.
“I am so, so sorry, ma’am,” Y/n quavered, taking her hand off of Leah’s shoulder as she watched the frown on Leah’s face form. “So, you see, my cat ran away, and I had to chase after him and that took me twenty minutes, and then I took the wrong tube—”.”
“You are late,” Leah said before taking a last glance at the girl and getting inside. “Don’t let it happen again.”
Leah heard the girl walking behind her, the squeakiness of her shoes making Leah even more angry.
“I-I’m sorry, and of course, it won’t happen again, ma’am” Y/n apologized, looking down at her feet.
Today was supposed to be a good day, Y/n thought. She had written down on her planner everything she needed to do in order to get to the club in time. She had printed the map of the Tube so she could get around easily and not get lost, but of course it didn’t work out and now her new manager was clearly pissed at her.
And of course, the women angry at her had to be THE Leah Willianson, one of the most skillful defender of all time and one of Y/n’s biggest inspirations.
Great Y/n, just great. When Y/n thought things couldn’t get worse, she heard Leah snap.
“And don’t call me ma’am.”
..
Y/n was trying to see the bright side of this situation. She was in a new country, had her own apartment, she had signed with one of the best teams in the league right now, but she just couldn’t shake the feeling of Leah’s harsh treatment against her.
Now, laying in her bed after her horrible day, Y/n could recap every bad interaction she had with Leah, which was, unfortunately, all of them, but it seemed Y/n just had the talent to make everything worse.
“This is the locker and the changing room. You can grab that one on the left,” Leah pointed at one of the lockers, with no identification on its door. “Basic rules: don’t let your clothes or boots lying around, lock your locker and just keep tidy. I hope can do that.”
Y/n hated Leah's tone. It was like the manager wanted to be everywhere else in the world but here with her. But she couldn’t blame Leah, she wouldn’t enjoy it if somebody kept her waiting for almost 50 minutes.
“Look, I’m really sorry about what happened earlier,” Y/n mumbled, following Leah through the corridors. She didn’t know where they were going. Maybe the kit room? “I’m normally very punctual.”
“Hm,” Leah said, sounding indifferent.
Maybe Y/n was going to cry on her first day after all.
Leah took a turn on the corridor and both women were in front of a white door, “Medical Room” written on it.
The room was fairly normal, having a couple of physios and massage tables. It looked like the place hadn’t been used today, since the tables were all made. A few Pilates objects were scattered around, making the room seem more lived in.
What really caught Y/n’s attention were the photos on the wall. Y/n took a step closer to the wall, leaving Leah behind her.
There was Kyra and Alessia smiling, both receiving massages from an older woman, whom Y/n guessed was the physiotherapist. Kim Little was right next to the girls’ pictures, wearing an air cast and using a crutch.
Vivianne Miedema and Beth Mead laying on a massage table, holding hands as they smiled for the picture. “ACL couple #1”, written just below it.
Next to it was a picture of Leah, a few years younger — maybe she was Y/n’s age — running in her arsenal kit. “Leah’s first run after ACL”, written in the same way as Vivianne and Beth’s photo.
Y/n felt her heart ached for Leah. Y/n was young, but she remembered how the football world was talking about how much Leah was trying to be back after her ACL tear during the Euros. She did everything available, every new therapy, and nothing worked. Sure, she could walk and even run for small periods of time, but Leah would never come back to football again.
Y/n wondered how Leah felt having to look at that picture every day.
“This is obviously the physio room,” Leah said, breaking the awkward silence that had formed. “I’ll email you the medical staffs ‘scheduled. if you ever need anything, you can just talk to them.”
When Y/n turned around to talk to Leah, she didn’t expect the blonde to be so close to her. Their bodies bumped together, making Y/n lose her balance and, if things weren’t bad enough, she stepped right into one of the exercise objects on the floor.
Y/n closed her eyes and waited for the impact of her head on the wall, but Leah was faster, holding her waist with one hand and her head with the other.
Y/n held her breath, feeling Leah’s torso against her, well, as much as she could considering she was wearing seven layers of clothing.
Y/n opened her eyes, meeting Leah’s gaze just for a second. Both women seemed like a deer caught in headlights.
“Hey Mary could you see my knee—”
Y/n and Leah were met with Katie McCabe, her green eyes staring at the two women in confusion.
“Am I interrupting something?” Katie said. Y/n could swear she heard teasing in the Irish women’s voice.
“What?! No, of course not.” Leah blurted, taking her hands off of Y/n’s body abruptly, if it wasn’t for Y/n year of balance training, she would have fallen again, that’s for sure. “I was just showing Y/n’s physio room, but Mary wasn’t even here so…” Leah seemed defensive now, looking everywhere but at Y/n or Katie.
“She almost fell,” Leah continued, overexplaining herself. “She tripped on this thing,” Leah lightly kicked the equipment, it was just a rubber ball. Y/n would laugh if Leah didn’t seemed so nervous all of the sudden. “You know I hate when things are left lying around.”
“Leah.”
“Yeah?”
“You are rambling,” Katie said making the blonde close her mouth.
“Why don’t you go do some manager things and I’ll finish the tour with her, yeah? It’s Y/n, right?” Katie offered her hand to Y/n, shaking it firmly. “I’m Katie.”
“Hi, yeah I’m Y/n, so sorry this is how we met,” Y/n said, looking down. “Guess I’ll just go with her, if that okay—.”
“More than okay,” Leah mumbled. “Bye, McCabe, I’ll see you at training.” Before Y/n or Katie could responded, Leah had already left the room, a frown on her face.
Katie was a way better host than Leah, showing all the places in the facility without making the young girl feel like a chore. The Irish woman couldn’t help but notice that Y/n wasn’t as happy as new players usually were when they first visited the club, so Katie asked what had happened.
“She hates me,” Y/n confessed to as soon as they get to the pitch, the last place on the tour.
“Who?”
“Leah.” Y/n mumbled “I was late earlier, and everything went south after that. I don’t know how I’m gonna get her to like me.”
Katie placed a comfortable hand on Y/n’s shoulder. “She doesn’t hate you, she is just grumpy like that, Leah doesn’t like when things don’t go the way she planned, she’ll come around.”
“Do you really think so?”
“Of course, it’s your first time at Arsenal, but it's also Leah’s first time as our manager. She never had a new player before; you are her first. Renée was the one handling the greetings and initial meetings with the players. Leah will understand that other people don’t always react in a way she expected.”
Y/n hoped Katie was right.

Tumblr media
summary - aaron is vulnerable after his family is taken from him, only you are brave enough to confront him
pairing - aaron hotchner x bau-gf!reader
word count - ~1k [very angsty…not my usual happy writing]
Tumblr media
“Why hasn’t he killed himself yet?”
The same question ran through your head over and over again, like it was some godforsaken lyric you couldn’t stop repeating.
Only it wasn’t a lyric.
It was something Hotch had said on a case today.
Granted it was about the unsub you were catching, but you couldn’t stop going over and over the double meaning to his words. You couldn’t stop wondering if that was Hotch’s cry for help.
You were currently driving to his apartment.
It was rough for you and Aaron right now.
Aaron getting stabbed was traumatic enough for you, but for Aaron to go through that as well as losing his family and all control? It was devastating.
You and Aaron had been together for over a year, making it work with being in a relationship whilst balancing his role as a dad. Aaron was doing the extreme best he could and you were so proud of him.
But you could see the emotional toll it had taken on him these last few weeks since the incident.
It was so clear that Aaron believed he was a terrible father and he was punishing himself for it.
You were really worried about him. You cared for Aaron a lot and it was heartbreaking to think that he was keeping such self deprecating thoughts to himself. He should know better.
You pulled up outside his apartment and quickly went into his apartment.
It didn’t take long to climb the stairs and reach his door.
You hesitated.
What if you were overthinking? What if he was actually alright and by you confronting him would just plant doubting seeds?
Swearing to yourself, you knocked.
A minute later and Aaron undid the latch and opened up.
“Hey?” He clearly wasn’t expecting you.
“Hey.”
“You coming in?” He opened the door wider.
“You’re not going to ask me why I’m here?” You questioned, crossing your arms over your chest accusatorially.
“Do I need to question why my girlfriend is visiting?” He furrowed his brows.
“You normally would,” You answered, “But you already know why I’m here.”
You pushed past him and walked into his apartment. This conversation was not meant for the listening ears of everyone on Aaron’s apartment floor.
He closed the door with a sigh and clicked the latch again.
Aaron came and stood near you, hands on his hips as he awaited your next move. You could tell by his body language that the direction this conversation was moving in was making him really uncomfortable.
Well that was fine with you.
“So…”
“So what?” Aaron looked down at his shoes before looking back at you.
“We promised never to profile each other.” You said.
“And yet here you are.” He challenged you.
Aaron was getting defensive and you hadn’t even started the conversation yet.
You knew that getting through to him would be hard but you sometimes forget how many solid walls and foundations this man has built around himself. One chisel at a time might not be enough.
“Don’t do this, Aaron.”
“Don’t do what?”
“Push me away!” You shouted, flailing your arms up.
“I’m not…” Aaron looked off to the side.
“Aaron. I know you better than you think I do. Don’t push me away when I’m trying to help.”
“I don’t need your help.” Aaron said bitterly, still not raising his voice. Sometimes his cold shoulder was worse than his angry tone. You’d seen strong-willed men crumble at their knees under Aaron’s glare.
“Stop being so stubborn.” You groaned.
“Well stop profiling me.” Aaron bit back.
“I’m not profiling you, Aaron. I’m simply being a good friend. I’ve noticed that my boyfriend is constantly sad and says things that make me… nervous - that’s not profiling.”
“Stay out of my head.” Aaron warned.
There was no going back from this.
If he broke up with you then so be it, but you weren’t taking any chances. Not when Aaron’s mental or emotional stability was on the line.
“What did you mean today when you said, ‘Why hasn’t he killed himself yet?’ Hmm?” You asked, crossing your arms over your chest.
Aaron shook his head, “I said stay out of my head.”
“Were you asking it about the unsub…”
“Don’t.” Aaron shook his head.
“Or were you asking about yourself?” You questioned the one thing that had been constantly on your mind ever since he’d said it.
“No.” Aaron shook his head, eyes tearing up slightly.
“Aaron, honey, it’s okay to be sad –.”
“I’m not sad, I’m devastated!” He shouted. It took every fibre of it being not to flinch and send the wrong message.
“Honey…”
“No. You want to truth? I’ve questioned what the point is anymore, of course I have. My son has been taken from me in the most cruel way possible and I can’t do a goddamn thing, so I’m sorry if I seem a little more sad than usual.” His words dripped with venom.
His breath was uneven and heavy after he’d finished, almost like he was holding himself back from letting out more.
“Is that it?” You said bravely.
Aaron’s gaze pierced yours. His honey eyes so focused that they had lost their spark.
“What?”
“You want to shout at someone? Then shout at me. You want to make someone cry? Then make it me. You want to punch a wall? I’ll stitch your hand up after. You want to cry? I’ll be here with the tissues.”
Aaron’s body physically deflated as you spoke.
You weren’t done yet though.
“You think that this is a burden you carry alone, Aaron. Well it’s not. Yes it’s your family that Foyet is targeting but you are not the reason that Foyet turned out to be the way he is. You are not solely responsible for his escape or any of his devious plans. So if you want to be devastated, then fine. In fact, I’d welcome you to show your heart on your sleeve for once. But don’t for one second think of doing something stupid. Not when I’m right here.”
Aaron dropped to his knees then head hanging low as his body shook from his tears.
You had hoped it would come to this. Not that you enjoyed seeing Aaron upset, but you appreciated seeing him be vulnerable with you.
It meant that he still felt safe with you.
“I’m sorry.” He kept repeating through his sobs.
You moved quickly to kneel on the ground in front of him, pulling his body into yours so you could hold him tight.
Aaron’s love language was physical touch, so physical touch you would give him. If he thought he was anything less than loved by you then you had failed as a partner.
“You’re okay. I’ve got you. It’s going to be okay.”
You kept reassuring him, keeping your hold tight on him whilst rubbing his back comfortingly.
<.><.>
[bonus]
You stayed on the floor with Aaron for over an hour.
He needed the time to cry and let everything out, whilst knowing he had someone next to him to keep him safe.
You had eventually both made it to bed.
Even though you didn’t have any of your work clothes here and your car was definitely violating parking rights outside, you couldn’t find it in yourself to leave Aaron. You didn’t want to leave him.
He was currently resting his head on your chest as he slept, his body breathing on heavily. You were sat up in his bed, stroking a comforting hand through his hair. His arms were wrapped tightly around you so you couldn’t be taken from him.
It had been a tough day, but you had reminded Aaron that there’s always a reason to keep going at the end of it.

Chapter 2- Ruinous
Pairing: Bucky x F!reader
Warnings: Lots and lots of angst (sorry but not sorry), toxic behaviors between Bucky and Reader, 18+ MDNI
Length: 1.8k
Summary: You and Bucky are going through a rough patch. Is it something worth fixing?
A/N: Did I write this when I should’ve been studying for an exam? Yes, but I couldn’t help it!
I do not give consent for my work to be translated, copied, or sold!
Tumblr media
Bucky stares at the pieces of the whiskey glass on the floor. Little droplets of the whiskey mixed with the Asgardian liquor stained the wall and the floor. It was unfair, you lashing out at him. You knew his struggles, his demons. And he told you it wasn’t your fault.
But he knew, deep down, that you were being fair. You had to do what was good for you. And right now, that wasn’t him.
Bucky collapses on the couch, his head in his hands. He knows that he acted like an asshole. He knows that you deserve better than that. So why couldn’t he change? Why couldn’t he stop lashing out?
He doesn’t have the answer. He wants to, but it’s like he can’t control what he’s doing. So he gets up, grabs another glass and pours himself a hefty amount of Asgardian liquor and whiskey, and grabs the mostly untouched box of cigarettes from his secret cupboard.
-
You wake up cold. You felt the emptiness beside you and slowly opened your eyes. You’re not home, you realize. The explosive fight with Bucky happened. You leaving your shared apartment happened. You staying the night at Natasha's happened.
You stare up at the ceiling, trying to think. How can your relationship be saved? How could you leave the relationship? The decision is daunting to say the least.
To start off, Bucky and you have been together for years. You know each other inside and out. Well, you used to.
You shake your head and try to think more.
Bucky has a short temper, quick to anger. But it was never with you. When you fought, it typically wasn’t anger that made you scared. He always made sure that you were trying to understand his side.
You shake your head. You couldn’t stop contradicting yourself. If you thought about a good thing about Bucky, a negative would follow. The whole situation is confusing for you.
You decide that laying in bed isn’t helping your decision. You get up and make the bed, trying to be a good guest. You leave the room to find Natasha in the kitchen making breakfast.
She offers you a small smile. “Morning, want some?”
You look at the pan and see eggs. You scrunch your nose.
“No thanks, I can’t even think about eating right now.” You sigh and hop up on one of the counters.
Natasha places her spatula down and leans on the opposite counter to look at you. “I’m guessing you didn’t get much sleep.”
“Well I did sleep, it wasn’t very restful though.” You yawn and shrug.
Natasha nods. “Do you want to talk about it?”
“I just don’t know what more I can say, you know?” You feel your eyes begin to water again. “I knew about his baggage, his nightmares, who he is. And I fell for him hard and fast. And now he’s going backwards and refusing to get help. All of the bad doesn’t negate the good, but his recent actions are things I can’t overlook.”
Natasha hums and pushes a lock of hair behind her ear. “Maybe this is something you need to talk to him about.”
You quickly wipe under your eyes with a sniff. “Is that a good idea?”
Natasha pushes herself off of the counter to stand in front of you. “Are you scared that he’s going to do anything irrational?”
You shake your head. Even though Bucky isn’t acting totally like himself, he’s not an idiot.
Natasha nods. “Then you need to have this conversation with him. Maybe he can tell you his side of things and maybe that’ll change things for you.”
You think about what she said. On one hand, you know that talking to Bucky would maybe clarify some things for you. On the other hand, it may cause another fight. But it was something you were willing to risk.
-
You unlock the front door, the stench of Asgardian liquor and smoke filling your nose. You see Bucky on the couch, a cigarette in his hand.
He takes a drag before turning to you. “Where were you?”
You frown at his hand. Bucky follows your gaze. He knows you hate it when he smokes. Smoking is one of the few things he picked up again when he felt stressed. But he told you that he stopped because of how much you hated it. Now you know he lied.
“Natasha’s.” You mutter.
Bucky scoffs at this and puts out the cigarette. “Of course you were.”
You furrow your eyebrows. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
He stands up. “It means I’m tired of you always running to her when we fight.”
“How is that any different than you going to Steve?”
“Because Steve is Steve. He’s my best friend.”
You let out a humourless laugh. “You’re telling me that just because Steve is your best friend he’s better than Natasha? She’s not some stranger.”
“Well she’s basically one to me, you spend so much time with her.”
“Well maybe I wouldn’t if you weren’t an asshole!” You raise your voice.
Bucky clenches his jaw. “So it’s my fault that you always run to her?”
“Sorry I don’t feel like I can come home!” You yell at him sarcastically.
He furrows his brows. “What, you don’t feel safe?”
“Look at you now! You’re getting angry with me for wanting space and hanging out with Natasha. Why would I come home if this is what I’m coming home to?”
“All because of what happened yesterday? Is that why you don’t want to come home?”
“No, I don’t want to come home because I’m scared of you! I’m scared that you’re moving backwards and this isn’t something that I can help you with. And… I’m scared that this isn’t something that I want to be around.”
“What do you mean you don’t want to be around?” He takes a step towards you.
“Bucky, you’ve been going backwards for months. You’ve been quick to anger, you started to drink more often, you’ve been lying to me about smoking for who knows how long. You act like you don’t have friends or loved ones who want to help you, like you don’t have resources.”
Bucky swallows. “I don’t need help. I’m fine.”
You take a shaky breath. “Then I’m moving out.”
Bucky’s eyes widen and his heart drops. “You’re gonna move out because I started drinking more and smoking again?”
“No, I’m moving out because I cannot and will not watch you destroy yourself. I come home drained. Not from work but from guessing what you’re going to be like. I want to do anything but come home to you and it shouldn’t be like that.”
Bucky runs a hand over his face. “What happened to through thick and thin? You’re gonna abandon me because I’m trying to work through some things?”
“Bucky I’ve been with you through thick, and I’ve been with you through thin. But you haven’t. I can’t be two people.”
“Well sorry that I can’t be the perfect boyfriend.” He rolls his eyes.
“I’m not asking for perfect. I’m asking for you to do the bare minimum and I’m not even getting that.”
“So me sharing everything with you is not enough?”
“Bucky, you only share halfhearted things! You tell me what you had for lunch and then your upcoming missions. I don’t know much about who you were growing up or what your favorite color is. I want to know all of you and you only want to share a fraction of that.”
“Do you really think it’s easy for me to share the things Hydra did to me? The things I did?”
“I’m not saying it’s easy. And I’m grateful that you shared bits of that, but you are moving backwards. You won’t even go see your therapist!”
“I don’t need some shrink to tell me the fucked up things I’ve done. I don’t need someone who doesn’t understand what it was like to be a fucking science experiment try to ‘decode’ me. Therapy doesn’t work.” Bucky takes another step towards you and softens his voice. “And I don’t need you to see how truly broken I am.”
“Bucky, I only see you. I see a man who has overcome all of these terrible things and is trying to right his wrongs. But I can’t see all of him when he’s starting to pull away from me. And you can’t say therapy doesn’t work when you’ve only been to 3 sessions and haven’t been back in months.”
“Fine, I’ll share things with you. Is that what you want? I’m not going to see some shrink, bringing up the past is… it has too many memories.”
You sigh and shake your head. “I need space, you need time. I can’t keep living like this, seeing you deteriorate in front of my eyes.”
Bucky finally lets himself break, his eyes water and his voice cracks. “For how long?”
“Until you show me you’re trying to get better.”
Bucky swallows. “And if I don’t?”
You shake your head. “You’re going to try.”
Bucky nods. You take a deep breath and wipe the tears staining your cheeks. It bothers you how much you’ve been crying the past few days but it’s been a long time coming.
“I’m going to go get more of my things.” Bucky nods, not able to say anything to you.
As you move towards the bedroom, Bucky sits back down on the couch. How is this real? He thought to himself. He knows that his actions have consequences, but you are the best thing that has happened to him. Was it because he was too selfish? Should he have known that all good things come to an end?
But you were willing to come back to him. You wanted him to get better. And he knows that the selfish part of him isn’t going away when it comes to you.
You exit the bedroom with another big bag of your things. Bucky looks up and stands.
“I don’t know what to say.” You try to take in every feature of his. “I’m probably going to stay with Natasha for a few days, then I’m going to talk with Tony about a more permanent solution.”
Bucky nods, not being able to bring himself to talk. You feel a pang in your heart, not wanting to leave him but knowing that it’s what's best.
“I guess I’ll see you around.” You walk towards the door.
Bucky finally speaks up. “Stay safe.”
You turn around and give him a small broken smile. “You too.”
As the door closes behind you, Bucky can feel everything around him shake. He sits on the couch, his head in his hands. Bucky lets out a cry, gasping for breath.
His whole world had left.

Hi, I absolutely love your writing! PA series is my absolute favourite! Would you consider writing about Y/N who's struggled with anxiety her entire life? Maybe Jamie comforts her during a stresfull situation or she helps him deal with his own anxiety?
Steady Hands
Masterlist
Jamie Tartt x fem! PA reader
TW: cursing, angst, anxiety
A/N: Thank you for the request! Let's explore a different side of Y/N! Btw this is just an in-between chapter not relevant to the timeline!
The most challenging things for Y/N to do as Jamie Tartt's assistant were his ever-changing schedule, his tendency to forget important appointments, and his occasional moments of existential dread when he thought too hard about his legacy. Y/N was usually Jamie's rock, there to comfort him and care for him...
So it was rather unusual when Jamie had to comfort her.
But life had a funny way of flipping things on their head.
Y/N had always been good at keeping things together. She had to be. Anxiety wasn’t something she could just turn off, but she’d gotten good at managing it—breathing exercises, staying organized, making lists. Keeping herself busy helped.
And working for Jamie? That definitely kept her busy.
But today, no amount of planning or deep breathing could stop the weight pressing on her chest, the way her hands trembled at her sides.
It had started with a simple mistake. One email. A scheduling error. A time slot mix-up that meant Jamie had been double-booked for an interview and a sponsorship meeting.
She’d caught it too late. The PR team was annoyed. The sponsors were furious at her. And even though Jamie himself had just shrugged and said, “S’alright, babe. We’ll just move one of ‘em, yeah?” she couldn’t stop the overwhelming guilt flooding her.
She should have caught it earlier. She should have double-checked. She should have—
“Oi.”
A voice pulled her from her spiral, and suddenly Jamie was in front of her, brow furrowed in concern.
She must have zoned out, standing frozen in the hallway outside Rebecca’s office.
His voice was softer this time. “You alright, love?”
Y/N swallowed, forcing a nod. “Yeah. Just—long day.”
Jamie didn’t look convinced. His gaze flickered to her hands—still trembling slightly, even as she tried to hide them in her pockets.
And Jamie—who was normally all charm and banter, all teasing remarks and cheeky grins—just watched her for a moment, quiet and assessing.
Then, without a word, he reached out and took her hand.
Not in the usual Jamie way, either. Not the casual, half-distracted way he sometimes grabbed her wrist to pull her toward a meeting, or the playful handshake they always did after a good game.
This was different.
His fingers curled around hers, steady and warm, grounding her.
“C’mere,” he murmured, tugging her toward the empty boot room just off the hallway.
The door shut behind them, muffling the noise of the club.
Jamie didn’t let go.
“You’re freakin’ out, love,” he said simply. Not a question—just a fact.
Y/N let out a short, humorless laugh. “You don’t have to sugarcoat it.”
Jamie tilted his head, watching her. “Ain’t sugarcoatin’ it. Just sayin’—you’re freakin’ out. And you don’t need to.”
Her breath hitched slightly. “Jamie, I fucking messed up. That’s—”
“So?” Jamie cut in, voice easy. “People mess up all the time.”
She shook her head, looking away. “Not me. I can’t mess up.”
Jamie frowned. “Why not?”
“Because.” Her voice was too sharp, too fast. She took a shaky breath. “Because if I mess up, it means I’m not good enough. And if I’m not good enough, then—”
She stopped herself.
Jamie was still holding her hand, standing right in front of her. Still watching her, his expression unreadable.
Then, quietly he says:
“That’s bollocks, you know.”
Y/N blinked. “What?”
He huffed a soft laugh, shaking his head. “All that shit you just said. Bollocks. You do get to mess up, Y/N. Doesn’t mean you ain’t good enough. Just means you’re human.”
She let out a shaky breath. “Jamie—”
“Look.” He squeezed her hand, firm and steady. “I forget shit all the time. I mess up interviews, I miss appointments—you’re literally paid to fix my fuck-ups. And you do. Every time.”
She let out a small, reluctant laugh.
Jamie grinned and softly caressed her smiling cheeks. “There she is. There's my girl.”
The weight in her chest eased just a little.
Jamie’s grin softened. “You’re fuckin’ brilliant, alright? One little mistake don’t change that.”
She exhaled, shoulders loosening. “You’re… actually kind of good at this.”
Jamie smirked. “Course I am. Y’think I don’t know what it’s like?”
She frowned slightly. “What do you mean?”
Jamie hesitated. Just for a second.
Then, with a small shrug.
“I get in my head sometimes too, yeah? Before big matches. When I’m knackered and feel like I ain’t doin’ enough. I start thinkin’—what if I fuck up? What if I lose? What if I ain’t good enough?”
Y/N stared at him. She’d never heard him say anything like that before.
Jamie scratched the back of his neck. “Dunno. Just—sometimes it helps when someone reminds me it’s all in my head.”
Y/N’s chest ached.
She squeezed his hand. “Jamie.”
He met her eyes.
“I don’t think I’ve ever told you this,” she said softly, “but you’re one of the strongest people I know.”
Jamie blinked, looking genuinely taken aback. “Oh.”
A slow smile spread across his face. “Well. You ain’t so bad yourself.”
Y/N huffed a laugh.
Jamie squeezed her hand one last time before letting go.
“Right,” he said, stretching his arms over his head. “Now, d’you wanna get outta here? Go get some food or summat? Reckon you need a break.”
Y/N hesitated. “Jamie, I still have work to—”
“Oi. Shut up.” Jamie poked her cheek. “S’not a request. We’re goin’.”
She laughed, shaking her head. “Oh my god, I hate you.”
Jamie grinned. “Yeah, yeah. Liar, you fucking love me.”
She might really fucking do...

I didn’t mean to have so much to say about this but wow do I!!!!
Lots of people say they love domestic spencer reid but I don’t think they love domestic spencer reid like EYEEE love domestic Spencer Reid. Because I love domestic spencer reid where he’s doing nothing. Or he’s being kind of….. not an asshole but…… where it becomes clear that he’s just dealing with his own shit and he’s a flawed person and then I love domestic Spencer Reid where he’s dealing with his own shit and he’s a flawed person but he can still say I’m sorry!!! And they can hug and it’s okay because loving someone requires being close enough to sometimes hurt them!!!! And the realism of this kind of fic just fills me w so much joy like THISSSS is what I want from tumblr dot com I LOVEE the meditative fics where nothing crazy happens and the plot comes from the authors understanding of rich interpersonal relationships!!!! I love!!!!
This was also beautifully beautifully written like a breath of fresh air wow I truly am so lucky to get to read work from such talented people thank you for writing this and thank you for sharing it with us!!
So anyway here are the lines that jumped out at me. There is really no rhyme or reason, I tend to extra love lines that are a little philosophical and ponderous about human connection and boy was this full of that!! I am not a literary critic I am just a girl full of thoughts
You wonder if this moment is real, or if it is something you are inventing to survive.
I just think this is an jarringly astute and concise observation of something we as humans do all the time in relationships and again there is nothing I love more than an observation about human connection that I can point at and go MEEEE I UNDERSTAND THAT I KNOW HOW IT FEELS!!!! It’s very exciting to me!!
Or maybe you are lying to yourself, pretending love is something you can bear no matter how heavy it gets.
This to me was a kind of honesty most fanfic lacks and obviously most fanfic is supposed to be optimistic and perfect and reflect the readers desires back to them but quite frankly to me it hits harder when there is this subtle kind of interpersonal angst and strife that is something we can feel and recognize within ourselves it makes it easier for me to actually connect to the fic. Rather than watching it like a movie I can recognize this kind of sentiment and it’s far more immersive to me and therefore a lot more fulfilling and rewarding and interesting to read
Maybe that’s the point of all of this—not two people standing side by side, but two people learning how to take up the same space, how to move around each other without losing themselves in the process.
YEAH MAYBE THAT IS THE POINT!!! THE POINT OF EVERYTHING!!! THE POINT OF MY ENTIRE LIFE!!! This to me is just beautiful and very succinctly summarizes something I’ve been working on and will probably continue to work on for the rest of my life and I think really the whole point of love and the lesson most people need to learn!!!! Once again I like my fluffy fanfic tempered w this kind of realism!! It adds so much texture
"Oh, lovely. I've got you, it's me. I'm here, I've got you," whispered reassurances pressed into your hair, your ear, your cheek, as he moves.
No yeah actually this IS the sexiest thing a man could possible say or do!! Like care and pay attention and be present and observant!!! I won’t even be talking about this because I love it too much to dissect it
Anyways this is maybe making me look crazy I just haven’t been engaged with fanfic very much recently and I did not go into this with the intention of having anything to say about it afterward but to my own personal deep surprise was so motivated to!! And it was so beautiful and so lovely I had to say something. Pls excuse if I’ve gone overboard!! This is just such a good example of fanfic at its absolute best to me like this is what it’s forrrr this is what I wanttttt!!!! Thank you for writing thank you for posting beautiful
mouthful of sunlight (18+)
Some nights, Spencer can’t sleep. His mind runs too fast, too far, tangled in cases, in horrors he can’t unsee. But in the quiet of morning, wrapped in the hush of young sunlight, he finds solace in you—the warmth of your breath, the slow, steady rhythm of your fingers tracing his skin. The comfort is fleeting; distance is inevitable. His absence lingers in the empty side of the bed, in unfinished cups of coffee, in the soft weight of his sweater draped over your shoulders. But when he returns—exhausted, unraveling—you stitch him back together with soft reassurances, gentle hands, and the familiar ease of laughter. warnings: sexual content (who tf am I), very very wordy, mentions of a cannon-typical case, longing, some angst if you squint, mostly reader and spencer being lovesick fools wc: 7.6k
You wake to the sound of rain, soft against the windowpane. The sheets are warm, tangled around your limbs, heavy with the scent of sleep and him. Faint traces of his cologne linger in the cotton, something clean and quiet, the ghost of him woven into the fabric.
Spencer is still asleep beside you.
You turn your head, slow, deliberate - shifting too fast might startle him awake. And there he is, curled into the pillow, his body half-buried beneath the blankets, face softened by the hush of morning. His breath moves through the space between you in slow, measured exhales, lips parted slightly, lashes resting against his cheekbone.
You could spend lifetimes watching him like this.
The curve of his mouth, the way his curls press against his forehead, the fine lines at the corners of his eyes—the ones you're not sure he knows about yet. You think the mentioning of them would send him into a spiral about aging and lost time but you love their presence. It reminds you of how he's laughed with you in the past, their arrival a notion of his genuine joy. The body keeps score in freckles and scars, and time can be found in the weight of sleepless nights and too many days spent carrying more than he should.
In sleep, he is weightless. The tension he wears so often—creased brows, tight shoulders, fingers restless against his knee—has melted away, leaving only the quiet.
You reach for him before you can think of it, fingers trailing over the ridge of his knuckles where his hand rests on the pillow between you. His skin is warm, his palm lax, open. He doesn't stir so you let yourself press further, sliding your fingertips up the length of his wrist, feeling the slow pulse beneath his skin.
Spencer Reid is always thinking. Always calculating, always predicting, always existing a step ahead, untethered from the present moment.
But, right now, wrapped in the hush of morning, doused in soft rainlight, he belongs here. With you.
The thought is terrifying in its simplicity.
You swallow, pressing your fingers a little firmer against his wrist, grounding yourself in the proof of him. His pulse beats steady against your touch, and you let it lull you, let yourself fall into its rhythm.
Spencer stirs beneath your touch, just the faintest twitch of his fingers against the pillow.
You go still.
A part of you—the part still tangled in hesitation, in old wounds and old fears—worries he’ll wake, that he’ll blink at you with those sharp, knowing eyes and startle away the calm you've fostered. You love Spencer, asleep or awake, but the peacefulness of this moment is something to be cherished. You want to watch him more, to exist in this lulling moment between seconds where life doesn't matter.
He doesn't wake, though, and instead, he shifts closer, instinctive, unconscious. The space between you vanishes, his breath warming your collarbone, his hand brushing against your arm where it lies between you. He is reaching for you without realizing it, drawn in like something inevitable.
And god, that does something to you.
You exhale, slow, careful, and let yourself watch him again, let yourself sink into the quiet reverence of it.
The morning light has stretched further now, slanting through the window, gliding through the messy sprawl of his hair. He is all sleep-heavy limbs, the weight of him pressing into the mattress in a way that drags you forward, leaning against him.
Flesh and bone, heartbeat and heat.
He is here. He is yours.
The way he leans into you even in sleep, the way his fingers twitch like they are searching for yours, even now. The way his body gives him away, whispering the things his lips have not yet said.
You cannot be careless with this. With him. But before the weight of it can settle too deeply into your chest, before you can let yourself spiral, Spencer shifts again—his breath catching, his brow furrowing just slightly, lashes fluttering against his cheeks.
You barely have time to think before his eyes blink open, slow and heavy-lidded, thick with sleep.
It takes a moment, his hazy eyes focusing and unfocusing. Still, he sees you. Not just looks, not just registers your presence; he sees you.
His lips part slightly, and for a moment, he only stares, like his mind is still catching up, like he’s still tethered somewhere between dreaming and waking. Blinking like he's not sure if you're a dream. Likely, everything is clouded by sleepy eyes and fading memories of dreams.
Then, his voice, quiet, still wrapped in the softness of sleep, “Morning.”
You don’t trust yourself to speak, so you do the only thing you can—you lift your hand, still resting near his wrist, and press your fingers over his pulse once more. A quiet confirmation. A tethering.
Spencer exhales, slow, deliberate, and then he turns his hand, just slightly, just enough, so that his palm meets yours.
His fingers curl between yours, and you feel it—the certainty, the weight of something unspoken settling between your ribs.
There is morning, and then there is night.
There is sunlight spilling over Spencer’s sleeping form, gilding his cheekbones, illuminating the curve of his mouth. And then there is the stark contrast of shadow—of sterile hotel rooms, of the sharp, artificial glow of a bedside lamp casting his face in harsh relief.
His fingers, curled loosely around yours in the golden hush of morning, become hands gripping the edge of a desk, knuckles white, trembling with exhaustion. His voice, soft and thick with sleep, morphs into something raw, something fraying at the edges.
"I don’t know how to turn it off."
It takes you a moment to realize what he means.
He’s still in his suit, the fabric rumpled, the scent of cheap motel soap clinging to his skin. There’s a stack of case files beside him, a half-empty cup of coffee that’s long since gone cold. He doesn’t meet your gaze, just stares down at his hands, fingers twitching like they’re desperate for something to hold onto.
"Spencer."
Your voice is quiet, hesitant, as if anything louder might shatter him completely.
"Come to bed."
He shakes his head, exhales sharply, dragging a hand through his hair.
"I can’t."
A fight, sharp and cutting. His voice raised, your hands clenched into fists at your sides.
"You don’t get it," he snaps, voice raw, eyes burning. "You don’t know what it’s like to have a mind that never fucking stops—"
"I do," you interrupt, and the way he flinches makes your chest ache.
A pause.
Silence stretching between you like a wound torn open, bleeding into the space between your feet.
Spencer exhales, shakily, and when he speaks again, his voice is barely above a whisper.
"Then why do you keep trying to fix me?"
And there it is.
The knife twisting.
You inhale, but the breath never quite fills your lungs.
The thing is—you don’t want to fix him.
You just want him to rest.
To sleep without nightmares. To let you hold him without feeling like he has to apologize for the weight of his existence. To believe, even for a second, that he doesn’t have to earn the space he takes up.
But you don’t know how to say that in a way that won’t turn into another wound, another reason for him to step back, to pull away.
So instead, you say nothing.
"Fuck. I'm sorry." And it's that simple, really.
Sorry, arms finding each other, whispers of "I know" pressed into necks and soft conversations easing racing minds.
Spencer can't stop the relentless chase of the case in his mind. You can't stop the constant overthinking of being enough, of your body, of desires edging into too much.
Morning. Again.
Spencer, golden in the dawn, the soft breath of sleep still heavy in his lungs. Your fingers ghost over the ridges of his knuckles, tracing the delicate architecture of him, the places where bones knit together beneath skin. Flesh and blood. A body, human and whole.
Then, blood, dark and seeping through the gaps in his fingers, staining his cuffs. Not his blood. Someone else’s. A case. A mistake. A man who didn’t survive the night.
His hands shake as he scrubs them raw in the motel sink, crimson swirling down the drain, his breath coming too fast, chest rising and falling like he’s drowning, like he can feel it slipping between his fingers, the weight of every life he couldn’t save.
You touch his shoulder, and he flinches.
Time lurches.
His head on your lap, hours later. His hair damp, fingers curled weakly in the fabric of your shirt, like holding onto you is the only thing tethering him to the present.
"I don’t know how much more of this I can take."
Morning.
Back in your bed, the light different now, stretched across the sheets in delicate bands. You can’t tell if you’re awake or dreaming.
You wonder if this moment is real, or if it is something you are inventing to survive.
Spencer shifts beside you, a quiet sigh escaping him, and you watch, desperate to memorize the shape of him here, untouched by grief, by the heaviness of what he carries.
You want to wake up to this every morning.
But the truth is, you don’t.
You wake up to the version of him that drinks too much coffee, to the one who is always looking at things that aren’t there, playing scenarios in his head like a film reel stuck on loop. You wake up to the version of him that gets lost in thought mid-conversation, who chews at his nails until they bleed, who flinches awake from dreams he won’t tell you about.
And you love him anyway.
Maybe because of it.
Or maybe you are lying to yourself, pretending love is something you can bear no matter how heavy it gets.
Mornings like this, where he sleeps beside you, still and warm and untouched by the weight of the world—stretch, slow and unhurried, slipping into the day like honey dissolving in warm tea.
Spencer moves through your apartment with the careful quiet of someone who knows how to exist in shared spaces—how to make himself at home without ever taking up too much of it. He is measured, gentle, a man who has spent too much of his life folding himself into small places, and yet, with you, he expands.
You watch him from where you stand at the kitchen counter, hands wrapped around a chipped ceramic mug, warmth seeping into your palms. The coffee is slightly too bitter, but you drink it anyway, because Spencer made it. Because he takes his with too much sugar and no milk, and you take yours with just a little, and the contrast is something you love.
The morning light catches in his hair as he moves about the kitchen, curling slightly at the ends where sleep left it unruly. He wears his clothes loose in the morning—his pajama pants low on his hips, his sweater slightly too big, slipping past his wrists when he reaches for things. He is soft here, unguarded in the way that makes your chest ache.
You don’t say anything when he hums under his breath, something classical, a song you don’t recognize but have heard him play before on nights when he lets the record spin long past midnight.
You don’t say anything when he pours his coffee with one hand and flips absentmindedly through the book he left on the counter with the other.
But you do say something when he starts reading aloud.
“You know, according to the Journal of Neuroscience, studies show that sleep inertia—”
“Spencer,” you interrupt, smiling into your mug.
He pauses, blinking at you, book still in hand. “What?”
You shake your head, setting your coffee down, stepping toward him until you can reach for the book, plucking it gently from his fingers. He lets you take it, watching as you slide it onto the counter behind you, clearing the space between you.
“We’re supposed to be waking up,” you murmur. “Not filling our brains with research before we’ve even eaten breakfast.”
Spencer tilts his head, eyes flickering over your face like he’s considering it. Then, his lips curve, slow and warm. “That’s how I do wake up.”
You roll your eyes, but there’s no bite to it. You both know that you love when Spencer rambles, miss it when he's gone, call him craving the sound of his voice when he's away on trips. “Come here.”
You reach for him, and he comes easily, stepping into the space you make for him, folding himself against you like he belongs there.
Maybe that’s the point of all of this—not two people standing side by side, but two people learning how to take up the same space, how to move around each other without losing themselves in the process.
Spencer exhales as you press your cheek to his shoulder, hands slipping around his waist, fingers curling into the soft fabric of his sweater. His arms come around you in return, slow and careful, pressing you against him like he knows exactly how to hold you.
The shape of each other, the cadence of shared breath, the quiet rhythm of a love that is not loud or fast or reckless, but something slow and deliberate.
Spencer is slow to let you go.
Even as you shift, even as you move to pull back, his fingers tighten just slightly at your waist, anchoring you there for a moment longer. You don’t resist. You let yourself be held, let yourself stay.
But then his stomach growls. Loudly.
You grin against his shoulder. “Well, that’s attractive.”
Spencer groans, burying his face in your neck. “I knew I should have eaten before I went to bed.”
You laugh, pressing your hands to his sides. “Come on, genius. Let’s get you some food before you start reading case files on malnutrition.”
He sighs, exaggerated, but finally steps back, rubbing a hand over his face as you turn toward the stove. “I do have a study on nutritional deficiencies and cognitive function bookmarked somewhere.”
You glance at him over your shoulder, raising an eyebrow. “You have studies bookmarked on everything.”
Spencer shrugs, completely unapologetic, and moves to lean against the counter beside you, watching as you pull out a frying pan. He doesn’t help—doesn’t even pretend to help—but he does reach for the bag of coffee grounds again, refilling your mug and his, making himself useful in the way he always does.
“You want eggs?” you ask, already cracking one against the rim of the pan.
He hums, peering into the fridge. “Only if you make them the way I like.”
“You mean, as you proclaimed the first time you stayed over, the right way?”
“Yes,” he says simply.
Neither of you mention how he burned them immediately after, distracted by kissing you in the early light filtering through the curtains of the kitchen window.
You huff, but it’s all affection, and he knows it.
Spencer doesn’t sit while you cook. He doesn’t retreat to the table or get lost in a book. He stays right here, a constant presence at your side, sipping his coffee, occasionally nudging your hip with his when you get too focused.
When you plate the food, he takes his with an approving nod. “See? Perfectly cooked.”
“They;re just scrambled, picky,” you tease, nudging him toward the kitchen table with your hip.
Spencer grins, mouth full of toast. “I have standards.”
You snort, setting your plate down across from him. “Oh, I know. That’s why you’re dating me.”
He swallows, takes a sip of coffee, and then, without missing a beat, says, “No, I’m dating you because I’m in love with you.”
Your breath catches.
He says it so easily.
No hesitation. No grand declaration. Just a fact, spoken between bites of breakfast, like it’s something he’s known for years.
You blink, lips parting slightly, and Spencer—Spencer, who notices everything—tilts his head, eyes softening.
“Hey,” he murmurs, reaching across the table, brushing his fingers against yours. “I didn’t mean to—”
“No,” you say quickly, shaking your head, covering his hand with yours. “No, I—I just—”
You exhale, glancing down at where your hands meet, at the gentle press of his fingers against yours. Then, quieter: “I love you, too.”
The corner of his mouth lifts, slow, small, but full of something deep, something certain.
“I know,” he murmurs, thumb tracing slow circles against your skin. “But I still like hearing it.”
And so you say it again, just for him.
Just because he likes hearing it.
“I love you.” Spencer smiles.
After breakfast, Spencer lingers at the table while you move about the apartment, rinsing dishes, wiping crumbs from the counter. It’s a soft sort of silence. When you pass by him, his hand brushes against your hip, absentminded but full of intent, a touch that says I know you’re here. I know you’re mine.
You catch his wrist, squeezing gently before letting go.
Neither of you speak as you make your way toward the bedroom, but Spencer follows, because of course he does. Because his place is beside you, moving with you, orbiting within the same small universe.
Inside, the morning light has stretched further across the bed, creeping in golden streaks over the fabric. The air is warm with the scent of sleep, of coffee, of him.
Spencer moves first, tugging his sweater over his head and tossing it onto the bed. His hair goes staticky, curls fluffed from the fabric, and you reach out instinctively, smoothing them back into place. He stills beneath your touch, the corners of his lips twitching.
“You’re going to make it worse,” he murmurs.
“Probably.” You grin, carding your fingers through the strands anyway, just for the sake of touching him.
Spencer huffs a laugh, but he doesn’t move away.
You let him slip his fingers beneath the hem of your shirt, lifting it over your head in one fluid motion. Let him reach for the zipper of your trousers, sliding it down with the same care you’d shown him.
There’s nothing rushed about it.
Nothing frantic, nothing heated. Just this. Just hands smoothing over fabric, fingers brushing against skin in passing, the quiet, unspoken promise of I know you. I love you. Let me show you.
Spencer tilts his head, gaze flickering down, not to your lips, but to the hollow of your throat, where your pulse flutters beneath your skin. He watches it like a scholar studying something precious like he’s measuring the exact rhythm of you, the precise way you exist in this moment.
And then, with all the patience in the world, he leans in.
Not rushed. Not desperate. Like he has all the time in the world to memorize you.
His lips brush your jaw first—so soft it could almost be nothing, just a breath, just a thought of touch. Then, lower, trailing warmth along the delicate line of your neck, the curve of your shoulder.
Your fingers find his wrists, not to stop him, but to hold him there, to feel the heat of him seeping into your skin.
You shift—not much, just enough to press closer, enough to let your forehead rest against his, enough to let his breath mingle with yours.
His hands slide higher, fingertips grazing the curve of your ribs, the warmth of his palms bleeding through the fabric like sunlight through frosted glass.
Like he understands, without either of you saying it, that this is the sacred part. Not the wanting, not even the having, but the holding. The staying.
He presses his lips to your temple, soft and sure, and you feel it—the weight of love settling between your ribs, deep and real.
“I want you,” he murmurs, voice low, full of something aching.
You shudder, your fingers tightening around his wrists. “You have me,” you whisper.
Spencer swallows, pressing his forehead against yours again, his hands gripping you just a little tighter as he breathes you in.
You feel his adoration in the way he moves—hesitant, reverent. Like he’s unraveling you thread by thread, pulling you apart just to piece you back together in the way only he knows how.
His fingers ghost over the curve of your waist, not grasping, not pulling, just feeling.
Your breath catches when he finally presses closer, the full weight of him sinking into you, a slow collapse into something inevitable. His body is warm, radiating heat like a fever, like a star burning too close to your skin. You curl your fingers into the fabric of his shirt, twisting it tight in your grip, grounding yourself in the weight of him.
He exhales against your jaw, warm and unsteady.
“Look at me,” he murmurs.
You do.
And god, it’s unbearable—the way his eyes search yours, wide and dark and pleading.
His breath stutters when you reach up, cradling his face in your hands, fingertips skimming the sharp angle of his cheekbone. He leans into your touch like it’s instinct, his lashes fluttering, his lips parting slightly, his chest rising and falling in time with yours.
“Spencer,” you whisper, his name slipping from your lips like a prayer.
He answers you with a kiss.
Not rushed, not desperate. His lips move against yours, unhurried but insistent, a careful exploration, a patient claiming. His nose brushes yours, his breath mingling with yours, the quiet sounds of longing pressing into the spaces between you.
You sigh into his mouth, and he shudders, his fingers tightening against your ribs.
“Again,” he whispers.
So you kiss him again. And again. And again.
Until the space between you is nothing, until your bodies are tangled in sheets and sighs and whispered names, until everything is breath and warmth and wanting.
His hands find yours, fingers threading together, clinging, pressing, grounding. His forehead rests against yours, his breath uneven, his body trembling with the weight of this.
“I want you,” he whispers, voice wrecked, shaking, repeating himself.
You tighten your grip on his hands, pulling him closer. “I know,” you breathe. “I know.”
And when he moves again, when his lips find yours with a new kind of urgency, you know—you feel it in your bones—this isn’t just wanting. It’s everything.
Spencer kisses you like he’s searching for something.
Like the answer to every unsolvable equation is pressed between your lips, tucked beneath your tongue, hidden in the soft give of your sighs.
And you let him.
Because you know this—this rhythm, this language you’ve built together. The slow pull of hands over fabric, the careful way he unravels you. The heat that grows between you, steady and unrelenting, like a pot left to boil over.
Spencer exhales sharply when your fingers find the sharp ridge of his collarbone. You press your lips there, breathing him in, and he shivers.
Spencer is reaching for you again, already fitting his hands to the curve of your back, already tilting his head to press open-mouthed kisses to your shoulder, your throat, the place just beneath your ear that makes you sigh.
“We’re going to be late,” you murmur, though you don’t mean it.
Spencer hums, his lips still pressed against your skin. “I don’t care.”
You laugh—a breathy, delighted sound that he swallows with his next kiss, his hands smoothing over your ribs, pressing warmth into your skin.
His trousers slide lower on his hips, and he makes a sound—low, breathless, almost dazed.
And then—“I’m sorry,” he murmurs suddenly, against the corner of your mouth.
You blink, pulse stuttering. “For what?”
“For all the times I haven’t been here.” His fingers tighten at your waist, like he’s grounding himself in the weight of you, in the proof that you are here. “For leaving. For missing too much. For—”
You don’t let him finish.
You press your lips to his, pouring everything into it—forgiveness, love, understanding.
When you break apart, your voice is quiet but sure. “There’s nothing to be sorry for.”
Spencer exhales, shaky and relieved, and then—
Then he laughs, something soft and breathless, because you’ve pushed his trousers past his hips and now they’re tangled around his ankles, and it’s clumsy, and it’s human, and neither of you can bring yourselves to care.
Your own clothes follow, piece by piece, scattered and forgotten, because this is more important.
Spencer is warm everywhere, all golden skin and careful hands and parted lips. He hovers over you, his breath fanning over your cheek, his fingers tracing slow, reverent paths down your arms, your sides, like he’s still memorizing you.
And when you reach for him, guiding him closer, pulling him in, he exhales a sound—soft, broken, something like ah, like yes, like finally.
You sigh into him, arching, meeting him where he waits, and the warmth between you turns molten, turns necessary.
Spencer presses his forehead to yours, his breath uneven, his fingers twining with yours in the sheets.
“I love you,” he whispers.
And you—You're lost in the heat, the smell of him. The gentle movement as there's nothing left but you and him and him and him.
"Ah, Spencer," you breathe, and he shushes you.
"I know, I know."
It's quiet, it's breathy laughs, it's warmth building building buildig until something cracks - it has to, it's necessary, it's perfect and lovely and hot honey dripping down your thighs to gather into something greater, something perfect, something more.
It should be impossible, the way you fit together.
Like something sculpted by hands that knew what they were doing, shaping flesh and bone with deliberate care, pressing you into each other until there is no separation, no beginning or end. A seamless thing. Thread looping over itself, over and over and over into infinity. Until it cannot be separated from itself, until it is one ball of mass and moving and friction.
Heat and pressure and warmth build into something more, more more. Spencer is calling your name as if you are lost, you're grasping his back to remind him you're right here.
He tumbles and you're stuck on the edge, unable to follow. It's a brilliant thing, watching him. Eyes screwed shut, tightly. Breath coming out in spurts and spasms. Love, love, love. Pouring out of him and into you.
It's warm, so so warm, and nearly enough to send you to the place of glass shattering and pleasure fluttering and complete unity.
It isn't until Spencer's hips are faltering that he notices you there, hanging on the precipice of masterpieces yet unknown.
"Oh, lovely. I've got you, it's me. I'm here, I've got you," whispered reassurances pressed into your hair, your ear, your cheek, as he moves.
And you fall after him, tumbling down into something safe and known and foreign and unlearnable.
When you clatter back onto Earth, Spencer is warm against you, chest rising and falling in the slow, steady rhythm of shared breath. His fingers—long, elegant, familiar—trace mindless patterns against your arm, mapping you the way he memorizes pages, theories, entire histories. As if you are something to be learned, something to be understood.
As if he hasn’t already written you into the marrow of his bones.
Your limbs are tangled in the sheets, in each other, some quiet aftershock of connection humming between your skin. He shifts, pressing a lazy kiss to your temple, the edge of your jaw, the corner of your lips, his breath still heavy with you.
Whole. Uninterrupted.
Until—
A loud grumble splits the silence, echoing off the walls.
Spencer stills.
You blink.
And then—
Your stomach rumbles again, louder this time, an undignified protest against your distraction.
Spencer bursts into laughter.
It’s warm, breathless, human, cracking through the solemn weight of the moment like lightning through a storm. He drops his head against your shoulder, shaking with it, his entire body vibrating with amusement.
“Oh my God,” you groan, covering your face with your hands.
Spencer’s still laughing when he rolls onto his back, his hand dragging down his face as he tries to compose himself. He fails, utterly, letting out another breathy chuckle before turning his head to look at you.
“I’m sorry,” he says between soft huffs of breath, his eyes bright with mirth. “It was just—so poetic, so profound—and then your stomach actually growled.”
You peek at him between your fingers. “You're going to give me shit when you essentially did the same thing earlier?" You ask, aghast. Spencer nods his head, cheeky smile overtaking his face.
You groan again, but it’s half-hearted, because Spencer is still laughing, and it’s the kind of sound you’d willingly make a fool of yourself for, over and over again, just to hear it.
"Did you not have any of your stellar eggs?" Spencer asks, pulling away from you.
You both wince as connection is lost, resisting the urge to pull him back in again, to be selfish and keep the warmth of him near.
He stretches, arms raised above his head, back cracking. You stay still, stretched across the bed as he moves into your bathroom and wets a washcloth.
"No, I don't really like scrambled."
Spencer hesitates, at the foot of the bed, one knee propped up on the edge. "What?" He asks, frozen, still as a statue.
"I'll eat them but this morning they were too eggy."
"Too eggy," Spencer mutters, voice aghast, cleaning you before pinching your thigh playfully. "Come on, time to get you to work."
The moment lingers, shifting into something softer, something easy.
And then—
You’re standing in the kitchen, hours later, Spencer in his undershirt, stirring a pot of something that smells like warmth, like home.
Your stomach grumbles again.
Spencer smirks, not even turning around. “Should I start reciting poetry, or—”
You throw a dish towel at him.
||||
There is the weight of Spencer pressed against you in the morning, the heat of his breath on your skin, the steady rhythm of his fingers tracing patterns into your ribs. And then there is the cold side of the bed, the imprint of him faded from the sheets, the silence of an empty apartment that settles like dust in your lungs.
He’s gone.
Not forever. Neer forever.
But the difference between knowing something and feeling it is vast, and this morning, you feel it.
The bed is too big. The air is too still. The coffee is too bitter without his absentminded habit of adding too much sugar to the pot when he thinks you aren’t looking.
His absence moves through the space like a ghost, turning everyday things into echoes of him.
A book left open on the table, spine cracked, a scrap of paper sticking out with notes in the margins.
A half-full mug beside the sink. He always assures you he'll finish it later but never does. You don't mind, savoring the reminder of him when he leaves in the middle of the day with little notice.
The sweater he left draped over the back of a chair, smelling like warmth, like him, like something undone.
You exhale, pressing your fingers to the edge of the table as if grounding yourself, as if it might keep you tethered.
You knew this would happen.
It always does—cases that stretch into days, weeks, phone calls that come at odd hours, the sound of his voice wrapped in exhaustion and apologies, the waiting, the not-knowing.
You reach for your own coffee, cradling it between your palms, letting the heat seep into your fingers.
Your phone buzzes. A message. Short, simple.
Spencer: I miss you.
The breath in your chest stutters.
Your fingers hover over the keyboard, a response forming before you can even think about it.
You: I miss you too. It’s too quiet here.
Three dots appear. Pause. Disappear.
You wait, staring at the screen, willing the space between you to close, even just a little.
Spencer: I’ll call you tonight. Stay in my sweater until then.
You let out a breath, something soft, something caught between a laugh and a sigh. You reach for it, slipping it over your shoulders, wrapping yourself in the remnants of warmth.
It’s not the same.
But for now, it will have to be enough.
||||
The door unlocks with a quiet click.
You don’t move right away.
You should—should stand, should cross the room, should meet him in the doorway. But instead, you sit still, curled into the couch, the weight of waiting still heavy in your limbs, pressing you down.
Footsteps. Familiar, careful.
“Hey,” Spencer murmurs, quiet, hesitant, like he isn’t sure if you’re asleep, if he should wake you, if he’s allowed to break the silence.
You inhale sharply, and that’s what does it—what snaps the moment in two. You push up from the couch, feet hitting the floor, your body moving before your mind catches up.
You are in his arms.
He exhales sharply at the impact, his bag slipping from his shoulder, his arms wrapping around you with something desperate, something relieved, like he’s been waiting for this moment just as much as you have.
The scent of him—faint cologne, the sterile bite of too many hotels, the quiet warmth that is Spencer—hits you all at once. You press your face into his shoulder, fingers curling into the fabric of his jacket, holding tight.
“You’re back,” you breathe, and it’s obvious, unnecessary, but you need to say it, need to hear it, need to confirm it.
Spencer laughs—soft, exhausted, fond. “I’m back.”
You feel the words vibrate through him, feel the shape of them beneath your hands, the weight of them settling between your ribs.
“Did you miss me?” You laugh, a quiet, breathy thing, your grip tightening on his jacket.
“Not at all,” you say, pulling back just enough to look at him, to see him. His face is tired, his eyes a little shadowed, but there’s something soft there, something bright just beneath the surface.
His lips twitch. “Liar.”
You hum, tilting your chin up just slightly, brushing your nose against his, letting the warmth between you settle.
“Say it anyway,” he murmurs.
So you do. “I missed you, Spence.”
His breath stumbles and he kisses you.
It’s not rushed. It’s not desperate. It’s homecoming, warmth where there was once cold. It’s touch where there was once absence. It’s the quiet, certain return of something that never really left.
It takes a while for Spencer to let go and, even when he does, he keeps a hand on you. Not even after the kiss fades into breaths, not even after his bag is abandoned by the door, not even after you’ve guided him toward the couch, pressing your hands to his shoulders until he sinks into the cushions with a sigh.
You don’t ask him about the case.
Not yet.
Instead, you move around him, nudging his shoes off with your foot, smoothing his hair back from his face, pressing your fingers into the stiff muscles at the back of his neck. His eyes flutter shut, and he exhales slow, like he’s unspooling one spiraling thread at a time.
“You look exhausted,” you murmur, brushing your knuckles over his cheek.
“I feel worse,” he admits, cracking one eye open to look at you. “I think I might actually be a ghost.”
You hum, tilting your head. Slowly, you press a finger into the center of his chest, thumping it against his sternum twice. “I don’t know, you feel pretty solid to me.”
Spencer lets out a breathy chuckle, shaking his head. “Okay, fine. Maybe I’m only part ghost.” He waves a hand in the air, "I hover between realms, or whatever those silly books you read would say."
“Well,” you say, ignoring the dig at your admittedly less-academic reading preferences, pressing your lips to his temple, lingering, “if you were a ghost, you’d be a talkative one. Following me around, rambling about hauntings and historic criminal cases—”
Spencer scoffs. “I’d be a great ghost.”
“Would you?”
“I’d be an educational ghost.”
You snort, letting your fingers trail down his arm, wrapping your hand around his wrist, pressing against the pulse there. “I think I prefer you educational and alive.”
Spencer smiles, but it’s softer now, more worn, and when he leans into you, it’s not just playful—it’s relief.
You shift, curling into him, letting him fold himself against you like he’s been waiting for it for days. He buries his face against your shoulder, his breath warm against your skin, and you feel the tension still lingering in him, the weight of something else.
Something he’s not saying. So you just hold him.
One hand drifts into his hair, threading through the soft curls, the other smoothing over his back, steady, slow. His fingers flex against your side, gripping, holding, grounding. He sighs, deep, exhausted, pressing closer like he’s trying to escape something.
You kiss the crown of his head. “You don’t have to tell me,” you whisper. “But you can.”
Spencer is quiet for a long moment, his breathing uneven, his fingers still pressed into your skin. “The case was a little boy,” he murmurs, barely above a breath. “He lost his—” His voice wavers, and he swallows hard. “His whole family. We nearly didn't find him in time."
It's the most he can give you, the most that the public has probably heard, too, but it's enough to impress upon you the true horrors he's facing.
You close your eyes, tightening your arms around him. “Spencer.”
He shakes his head, shifting just enough to rest his forehead against your collarbone. “I just—I keep thinking about him. How small he looked. How scared.”
You press your lips together, blinking hard, willing yourself to keep it together for him. “I’m sorry,” you whisper, voice thick. “I know that doesn’t help, but I am.”
Spencer exhales shakily, nodding against your skin. “It helps.”
You don’t know if that’s true, but you keep holding him anyway. Keep smoothing your hands down his back, keep whispering his name, keep pressing your lips to his temple, his cheek, the corner of his mouth, like you can will the heaviness away.
“I’ve got you,” you murmur against his skin. “You’re home.”
Spencer lets out a slow, shuddering breath. “Yeah,” he whispers. “I am.”
Spencer doesn't move much, pressed against you, letting himself be held. His breathing steadies, his hands no longer gripping like he’s afraid of being pulled away.
You shift, just slightly, pressing your cheek against the top of his head. “You wanna do something mindless for a bit? Watch bad TV? Read a book with no footnotes? Stare at a wall together?”
Spencer snorts, muffled against your skin. “Tempting.”
“I'm very persuasive when I want to be.”
“That’s one word for it.”
You pull back just enough to look at him, narrowing your eyes. “Excuse me?”
Spencer finally lifts his head, and there’s something lighter in his expression now, the weight of the case still lingering, but no longer pressing quite so hard against the edges of his mind.
He shifts, settling further into the couch, his knee bumping against yours. “You bullied me into watching a terrible documentary about haunted dolls last time I came back from a case.”
Your mouth falls open in offense. “It was informative!”
Spencer levels you with a flat look. “It was ninety minutes of a guy holding up dolls to the camera and whispering ‘Do you hear that?’”
You press your lips together, fighting back a laugh. “Okay, maybe it wasn’t the most scientific—”
“There was a scene transition shaped like a skull.”
“You didn’t have to watch it!”
Spencer gestures at himself dramatically. “I was physically incapacitated by exhaustion!”
You shove at his shoulder, laughing now, and he catches your wrist easily, pressing a quick, warm kiss to the inside of it before letting you go. The gesture is so easy, so thoughtless, that your chest goes tight with it.
Spencer sighs, shifting so he’s half-leaning against you again, pressing his forehead briefly to your shoulder before pulling back. “But,” he admits, softer now, “it was kind of nice. Sitting with you. Not thinking for a bit.”
You hum, tucking your legs beneath you, leaning into his warmth. “I am great at the whole ‘not thinking’ thing.”
Spencer huffs a laugh. “That’s not what I meant.”
“You sure? I distinctly remember you asking me how I manage to not overanalyze things while I was eating a bowl of cereal the other day.”
“That was—” He pauses, brows knitting together. “Okay, yes, but that’s because you were reading the cereal box like it was literature.”
“It was a compelling narrative, Spencer.”
He tilts his head. “The ingredients list?”
“The lucky leprechaun’s backstory,” you clarify.
Spencer just stares at you.
You grin, nudging his knee. “It’s called escapism, genius.”
Spencer shakes his head, exhaling something close to a laugh-sigh, then shifts again, tucking himself more comfortably against your side.
"Unless you're calling me dumb," you muse, not ready to give up teasing him. He takes the bait easily.
"I would never say that-"
"i'm pretty certain that's what I'm hearing."
"Absolutely not." You sit silently, humming dramatically, hoping for a compliment that you're sure is to come. "You're one of the smartest people I've met, actually. That's why your taste in books and documentaries appalls me."
"You're good at groveling, Dr. Reid."
He doesn't answer, chuckling and pressing his lips against your shoulder in response instead.
After a moment, his fingers brush against yours, hesitant for only a second before twining them together. Quiet settles between you again—not heavy this time, not suffocating. Just easy. Just you and him. Spencer squeezes your fingers lightly, voice soft when he speaks again.
“You make coming home easy.”
Your throat goes tight, and you squeeze back. The shift in tone is palpable. You long to linger in the feeling of warmth and safety and the earnest way he mumbles it. “Good,” you murmur, pressing your forehead to his temple. “Because you are home.”
Spencer exhales, slow and steady. “Yeah,” he whispers. “I know.”
You don’t move immediately after Spencer settles against you, letting his weight sink into the couch, his fingers loosely tangled with yours. He’s relaxed now, softer, the weight of the week still lingering in his tired eyes but no longer pressing quite so hard on his shoulders.
It’s the perfect time to strike.
You reach for the remote, flicking through streaming options with intense purpose.
Spencer glances at you, suspicious. “What are you doing?”
“Putting something on to help you unwind.”
His eyes narrow. “What kind of something?”
You hum innocently. “Oh, you’ll see.”
Spencer watches as you select a YouTube documentary—one you know is riddled with inaccuracies, one that will absolutely send him into a spiral.
The second the dramatic narration begins, Spencer physically tenses.
You stifle a smile. You watched it when he was gone, something mind-numbing after a long day at work, and have been waiting to see his reaction to the ridiculous claims of the conspiracies.
The documentary wastes no time getting things wrong.
A sweeping shot of pyramids. An ominous, overly intense musical score. And then, in bold, serious tones:
"The ancient Egyptians, known for their fascination with aliens—"
Spencer inhales sharply, head snapping toward you, eyes wide with horror. “Their fascination with WHAT?”
You shrug, biting your lip. “Aliens, love. Keep up.”
Spencer throws his hands in the air. “Ancient Egyptian society was a highly advanced civilization with remarkable achievements in engineering, mathematics, and medicine—why does everything have to be aliens?”
You pat his knee comfortingly. “Shh. The experts are speaking.”
He turns back to the screen just in time to hear the narrator say:
"Some theorists believe the Sphinx was originally a statue of a dog, not a lion."
Spencer physically jolts, glaring at you again.
“A dog?” he scoffs.
You bite back laughter. “I don’t know, Spence. It kinda looks like a dog if you squint.”
He looks betrayed. “It doesn't. I know you don't think it does.”
You hum thoughtfully, pretending to study the screen. “Maybe, like, a bulldog?”
Spencer presses the heels of his palms into his eyes like he’s in pain. Give me the remote. There's a better, actual documentary, about 1940s Germany that I wanted to show you instead of this-” he gestures toward the screen, "garbage."
You grin, nudging his side. “Oh, you love it.”
“I do not—”
A new segment starts, this one even worse, featuring a so-called “historian” confidently stating that the Romans invented cheese.
Spencer makes a noise nearly resembling a laugh and you know you've got him.
“No they didn't," he says, deadpan, shaking his head and clicking off of the video.
You lose it. You cackle, curling into his side, shaking with laughter as Spencer queues up an actual documentary, switching on subtitles for you.
“I hate you,” he mutters, but his voice is fond, his arm still wrapped tight around you.
“No, you don’t,” you tease, leaning into him.
He sighs dramatically, dropping a kiss to the top of your head.
“No,” he murmurs, softer now. “I really don’t.”
And just like that, the warmth settles back between you, easy and earned.
Even if he’s still muttering about the Sphinx as the documentary starts.
You settle down like that, listening as Spencer adds his own interesting facts to the documentary. This is home, wholly and truly, sitting on this couch next to him.
You're sure to ask questions, keep him talking, until he falls asleep, missing the sound of his voice the second he dozes off.

So I woke up to 100 followers this morning, and I was really surprised.
THANK YOU!
I’m still learning my way here, but hopefully I’m getting better.
I know people on all different platforms do celebrations like writing prompts and stuff, but a) I’m a slow writer and b) I’m lazy. So I thought, now might be a good time to release this:
TO YOU I BELONG
SNEAK PEAK
Chapter 1 coming 21/02 🇦🇺⏱️
Tumblr media
Pairing: Alpha!Dean x Omega!Reader
From Chapter 7: Honeydaying
Sitting on the edge of his bed, hunched over, arms leaning on his thighs, Dean twisted the small pill bottle in his hands, listening as each tablet fell to the bottom. There weren’t many, six at most, and they rattled around in there, waiting for him to open the lid and take one out.
Or man up and throw them in the trash like he’d planned.
The problem was, he knew how his body would react to not taking the daily suppressant. He’d experienced it before. And if his inner alpha was overprotective of you now, it was about to turn into a possessive dick the second the drug’s effects wore off in T minus twenty-four hours, if he…
No.
Not if.
He was doing this. He was gonna claim you and make you his.
Which is why even though the trashcan was only three feet in front of him, he still sat there unmoving from the memory-foam cushioning his ass…
Fuck. Why was this so hard?
He put the pills down on his bedside table and leant back into the mattress, fishing his phone out from his jean pocket. The denim hugging his hips was too tight, and he had to lift himself up a few inches to yank the device free, unlocking it with a couple of taps and a swipe up.
His fingers continued to work the touch screen, locating contacts, flicking down to the letter J, and hitting the green call button. At least there was one thing he wasn’t hesitating over.
He heard the click and a familiar voice fondly speak his name before he’d even brought it up to his ear.
“Dean Winchester.”
“Hey, Jody. How’s it going?” Dean stood up off the bed and moved to the closet.
“Good. Although I’m a little surprised to hear you ask me that.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” The door creaked in protest, as did his back, though it cracked more than creaked when he arched over to reach his green duffle he’d thrown on the floor after the hunt in Iowa. The couple of weapons he hadn’t bothered to put away hit against each other as the bag swayed and gravity played with their weight.
“Just that you don’t call me unless you need something or someone’s dead. Oh god. Is Sam okay? What have you boys gotten into now?”
“Alright, first off, that’s insulting.” He emptied the contents onto the bed, pulling out a shirt that had wound its way around his shotgun. “And second.” He brought the fabric up to his nose for a sniff test. It needed washing, or burning with added salt. The remnants of nameless monster guts clung to the collar, and he didn’t hesitate to throw it out. Those pills though... “Everything’s fine. Sammy’s alive last time I checked.
“I wanted to know how you were. What’s wrong with that?” He caught the phone between his neck and shoulder, freeing his hands up to open the chamber of his prized weapon. The racking was rather loud when he closed it back again, and he grimaced. Jody was going to notice that.
“Nothing,” she said. “But that’s not why you’re calling.”
Why did he attract people who could see right through him? “Well, ah, to be honest, I need a favour.” He took a long breath in, preparing himself to deliver his news. “I met my soulmate and—”
“What?” Her high-pitched squeal had him dropping his shoulder and her. “Are you sure?”
Seriously! It’s like she was trying to cut him deep. “What do you mean, am I sure? I know my own damn initials,” he shouted down at his phone. Luckily, it had only landed on the bed. He did not have the patience or time to get a new one.
He ditched the shotgun and picked up Jody, bringing her back to his ear.
“So you’re no longer running solo, huh? Finally claimed someone! What are they? An omega, a beta? Or another alpha like you?” She chuckled. “I’d love to see that.”
‘Bitch.’
‘Dude. This is Jody.’
‘She’s insulting our mate.’
‘No, she’s insulting you, you dick.’
“Ah, an omega, and I haven’t claimed her yet,” Dean said, cringing when his inner alpha interrupted him again. His eyes searched for the pill bottle and gave it a once over. No, no. This was gonna be hell, but he’d grin and bear it. “That’s why I was calling—”

Tumblr media
♡ 𝐌𝐘 𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐎𝐍 𝐁𝐔𝐋𝐋𝐘!𝐊𝐄𝐈𝐒𝐔𝐊𝐄.
💢 MINORS, DO NOT INTERACT!
⚠️ warnings: smut, heavy dacryphilia, sadism, masochism, the whole thing starts because he blackmails you, he’s an evil asshole in this, he hates you but does he really, degradation, MEAN SHIT!!!
ⓘ this won’t be centered around him in school or college. think of it like you were unfortunately introduced to him and he decided you’re the one girl he wants to cause pure misery.
Tumblr media
you’re a friend of mikey’s. he’s got this one companion — best friend — keisuke baji.
he’s strong from what you know. tall, muscular. dark eyes and a brooding demeanour, a voice that sends chills down any person’s spine. a total hunk. he’s got nice taste too.
you haven’t interacted with keisuke much. barely at all, actually. you’ve seen him once or twice. he’s not someone close to you. not someone as easy to talk to as mikey’s other friends. you’ve never had any relations with him, neither conflict nor a tender moment. he was just… there. always in the corner of your eye, always somewhere in your line of sight.
that shouldn’t matter much. it wouldn’t have. you’ve seen a great deal of good-looking men in your life — not a single one quite as unique and appealing as he is, but… attractive still. there was certainly something special about keisuke, no doubt. you felt a sense of exhilaration when he came by. possibly the fact he can snap your spine in a heartbeat if he so wished.
i’d tell you he would never do that. that he’d never be cruel to you, but he would be. he has been. he is.
after the first time you met, he started lingering. you saw him far more often, he was like a phantom. right in your vicinity, just out of reach. you thought your interaction with him would go nowhere, he’d leave you alone and forget about your existence for the rest of his days.
but he didn’t. in fact, he approached you. multiple times. and it got nastier. every. single. day.
he’d shove past you, not even bothering to apologise. you weren’t the first person he’d look at in a room — you didn’t realise it so. the way he’d speak to you, condescendingly and sharp as if you’re some nuisance, it hurt. he’d roll his eyes the instant you open your mouth and he took a sick amount of pleasure in seeing that dumbstruck, disappointed look on your pretty face.
conversations with him were short. they always left your mind bleeding, racing. he was unpredictable. you wanted to figure him out. you had to. but it was so difficult, because keisuke is not as simple a man as most would think.
his subtle torment on you started the third or fourth time you’d met. you were with a few mutual friends, hanging out and having a decent time. keisuke went to get some drinks for everyone and he’d purposefully spilled yours on your clothes, apologising so half-assedly that mikey himself was a little shocked he’d be so impolite to a girl.
what no one realised at the time was that keisuke wanted a glimpse of
you. sure, he’d stalked you a little before, but he hadn’t seen your bra in such a… lewd fashion. he just wanted to humiliate you as well. ‘what a slut,’ he’d think, ‘wearin’ a bra like that in front of everyone. who the fuck does she think she is?’
and as soon as that thought clicked in his head, he knew something.
he felt far too amused at your suffering. it made his heart which many thought to be good, skip a beat. he couldn’t bring himself to feel remorse for it.
that look of embarrassment on your face, the shame. he needed to see more. he had to recreate it.
so he did, over and over, with new methods each time, until one day… he had the perfect leverage.
you were hooking up with some guy. unnamed, a loser no one gave a shit about. he wasn’t the point of attention, however. you were. and keisuke just had to grab this opportunity it, hold it over your head. the guy was recording. you really were such a slut, letting him do that with no qualms. no smarts at all, how naive. although seeing you have something so intimate with another person annoyed keisuke beyond belief, the bliss of having something to blackmail you with and get you to do favours in exchange was absolutely intoxicating.
once that lame session was done and over with, the idiot left your house and never came by again. keisuke jumped him somewhere you no one could see, beat him bloody and snatched the recorder right out of his ugly little hands. he told him, “i’ll break your fuckin’ fingers if you don’t shut the fuck up,” and the man complied, but keisuke broke them anyway. he made quite sure he wouldn’t be ratted out.
now, he knew how to initiate this new level to your so-called bond. he’d never been to your place before — actually, he did, you just never knew. what? can’t a guy check up on his favourite plaything? give him a break.
you came to your room with a deafening shriek, panic overtaking your entire body at the sight of that brute leaning against your windowsill and listening to… porn..? with the most nonchalant expression on his stern face. he didn’t even flinch at your scream. you swore you could’ve passed out from pure fear that day.
“how the fuck did you find my house?!”
“you’re actually such a loser. you still own this many plushies? if i lose hearing ‘cause of your dumb little mouth i’m gonna snap you in two ‘n rip your stuffed animals in half next, so shut up and c’mere.”
you obeyed, anxiety and terror dripping off of your frame. that made the corners of his mouth twitch.
with an indifferent air to his movements, he turned up the volume to the max just to fuck with you some more, and showed you the video playing on his phone.
your heart dropped.
you, buried in the sheets, moaning like a whore. he caught that on video. keisuke baji caught that on video — the man who has been dying to have some form of leverage on you, he fucking had the video! you knew you shouldn’t have trusted that bastard you had sex with!
“pfft… you moan so loud, goddamn. surprised your neighbours didn’t complain to ya. you don’t have any standards, huh?”
“how— how did you get that video?”
his lips curled into a sneer at your obvious question. “how do you think, dumbfuck?”
you swallowed shakily. he almost cooed at how your glittery lips quivered, how tears made your lovely eyes shine.
“what’re you gonna do with it? w-what do you want from me?”
“hah,” he snorted, smiling for only a second before dropping it. “asking a good question for once, that’s surprising. got your brains fucked back into you by that loser? i need ya to do a couple things for me.”
he suddenly tugged at the ends of your hair, balling your tresses up in his fist. you whimpered at the sharp sting of pain, and he smiled cruelly. his face lowered above yours, breaths mixing.
“you’re gonna get on that bed and let me fuck your brains right back outta you like a good girl.”
after that night, he basically treated you like his personal servant. except, he didn’t make you do much for him. “don’t touch my shit. don’t want your filthy self staining my belongings, you got that?” he’d claim.
how he thanked all that was holy for the invention of cameras and sextapes. he could make you do just about anything for him and you’d have to oblige because you don’t want anyone seeing your pure facade shatter. keisuke knew from firsthand experience that you were just a slut at your very core, and he never forgot to remind you.
he’d be so brash. in the middle of spending time with your friends, he’d practically grab you by the scruff of your neck. “oi, guys. need this dumbass for a bit,” he’d harden his tone while speaking to you next, “come with me.”
you’d have no choice but to follow along, acknowledging the pitiful glances a couple of the guys would send you. and in the following minutes, you’d find yourself on your knees in the middle of a dirty alleyway, choking on the raven-haired devil’s pierced cock like it was the last thing you’d eat. what a mess he’d turned you into, over the span of just a few weeks. you couldn’t comprehend the gratification that only you could give him. no one else could hold a goddamn candle to you. keisuke’s favourite toy, but he’d rather skin himself than admit it. he had a reputation to hold up and a pretty girl to torture, after all.
he’d rarely be gentle with you, if ever. he fucked you behind a toman meeting spot once, while the gathering was going on. up against the grimy wall or bent over his bike, you couldn’t quite remember. both, you think. you’re not sure because your brain was so fuzzy from how full he made you feel. he certainly had the size to back up his audacity. he was hissing at you to keep quiet, but didn’t even bother covering your mouth. no, his greedy hands were occupied with your tits, manhandling and fondling like they were made of dough. to him, they basically were.
he hadn’t taken you out on any dates. if it was ever just the two of you, it was going to be a hook-up, with a mind-numbing amount of pain and pleasure. usually, he’d come to your house, with or without your permission. he’d fuck you until you’re weeping as much as your pussy is, lick at your tears and spit in your mouth. he stayed over once or twice, laughed to himself at how you went out of your way to make him pancakes in the morning. even when he was treating you like a grain of dirt underneath his boot, you were so sweet. it was so cute. especially when he called your cooking disgusting but still proceeded to wolf it down. after that, he asked — forced — you to cook breakfast for him each time he’d come over.
it left you with a mess of emotions every time you saw him in your abode. he looked out of place but made himself right at home. seeing him brushing his teeth with your toothbrush in the morning, clad in just some low-hanging sweatpants and a goddamn cross necklace shouldn’t have turned you on as much as it did. you scolded him, only barely keeping arousal out of your angry tone. he didn’t give a shit, though. don’t think he doesn’t notice the way you stare at his massive arms.
one of his favourite things to do every time he came over was pin you to the counter as soon as you were done or while you were cooking. especially when it was for him. did you really expect keisuke baji not to fuck you on the counter when you were dressed in such provocative clothes, let alone cooking for him like you’re his wife? he hates that idea, and at the same time wants it badly. you’re so frustratingly cute.
he doesn’t visit you much, though. you look forward to meeting him to the point it’s pathetic, and you hate yourself for it. what’s so damn good about being fucked by some burly, mean delinquent with long black hair, and a broad frame, and… an entrancing caramel gaze, and… and a sickeningly good rhythm and a voice that— oh, stop it! you can’t be swooning for a goddamn bully like him!
when you’re out and about, keisuke barely even acknowledges you. he doesn’t look at you when you’re talking, maybe an occasional roll of his eyes, but he’ll practically ignore your existence unless he wants to humiliate you in a different way. he’ll even pretend to forget your name sometimes.
“hey, baji, have you seen [name] anywhere?”
“who?”
“[name], are— are you not friends with her?”
“nah. don’t know who that is.”
“i’m here!”
“[name]! thank goodness, i was looking for you.”
“oh, this [name]. should’ve specified it was her. the dumb chick who can’t seem to keep her ass under her skirt.”
“excuse me?”
“hm?”
“uh… i-i’m just gonna go. [name], mikey needs you. he’s over there.”
it makes your blood boil, how keisuke so openly degrades you. and at the same time, you can’t get enough of it.
you can’t get enough of how he’ll keep a vibrator inside your panties and have the remote expertly tucked in his pocket while you’re having dinner with your friends. the pink object is nestled perfectly against your clit, and you’re struggling not to roll your eyes back. keisuke, the asshole he is, will turn up the settings too high for comfort as soon as you try joining the conversation. you’ll never have a good day with this man around. he won’t reveal a damn thing, too, so everyone except him is concerned about you when you’re trying so hard to hold in your moans.
one night he’ll have his face buried between your tits, filthy groans erupting from his mouth as he drills into your soaking cunt, the next afternoon he’ll shove his broad shoulder against yours with enough force to make you trip and not give you a damn glance afterward. you don’t know it, but his eyes are actually trained on you all the time. he’s just got incredible instinct and a poker face.
he’ll kick your legs apart and flip your skirt up out of nowhere, take you on his bike and drive too fast for your poor heart to handle. when you show any fear during that death ride, he’ll scoff and call you a pussy. in reality, he just craves the way you cling onto him so tightly. like he’s your lifeline, which he is when you’re on the verge of crashing on his motorcycle.
you can’t tell if he’s repulsed by you or wants you. it’s a terrifying mixture of both, you bring out the sadist in him and he’s not going to deny himself of that pleasure. he’s not a monk, for fuck’s sake. he’ll take what he want, whether you like it or not. he’s got a hunch you do, considering the way you stare at him with the most intoxicating look of fear and desire and look away the instant he catches you.
stupid, stupid girl. thinking you’re so slick. he knows you far too well. he knows when you’re flustered, when you’re trying to defy him and failing miserably, knows how to draw tears from you and he knows how to hit that sweet spot in your pussy over and over until you make his wide back bleed with scratches. he’ll smack you for leaving them, informing you that he’s not your boyfriend and you shouldn’t leave marks on him like he is, but the way he wears them like a badge of honor contradicts him fully. his hypocrisy pissed you off so badly because he leaves bruises and bites on you all the time, and he doesn’t see you complaining about it, does he? well… he does. but unlike him, you can’t do a damn thing about it. you’ll just have to take it all like a champ because you’re his now. that knowledge makes your heart ache, and… maybe between your legs, too.

Summary: Randy isn't being all that loyal to you..but Stu helps you get over it.

“Oh come on! What’s it gonna take for you to sleep with me one time?!” Stu teasingly asked. We were currently at his house, he threw a party for whatever reason, and the music was so loud. “Stu..we talked about this, I am in a very committed and serious relationship with Randy.” I explained as he rolled his eyes at my statement.
“So? He doesn’t have to know.” Stu shrugged. I sighed before responding to his stupid statement. “Like I’ve said before, I am not going to-“ Before I could finish, Stu cut me off. “He doesn’t even like you. He’s using you to get close to Sid.”
My heart dropped..what does he mean? Is Stu joking? If so it’s not funny. “Don’t joke like that, it’s not funny.” I stated. My face was getting hot, I hoped what Stu was saying was some kind of sick joke..but deep down, some part of it feels true. I felt Stu place his arm around me and shift me in the direction of Sidney and Randy laughing with each other and getting all touchy. Randy has never looked at me with that much love before.
“That’s the guy you’re staying loyal for.” He said with a hint of sadness in his voice. It was becoming too much, the air was becoming stuffy, the room was becoming cramped, and tears were flowing down my face. I hurried and ran upstairs to an empty bedroom, slammed the door shut, and placed my face into the pillows.
Why does this always happen to me? No one ever really likes me, they always like Sid. I know I sound like a jealous and bitter friend, but it’s not fair. For once, I would love it if a boy actually liked me for me but instead they always go for her.
Maybe I should talk to Sid? What if it’s only a one sided thing? Randy likes her but she doesn’t feel the same way about him? Besides, Sidney is dating Billy so I’m sure she doesn’t feel that way about Randy…I hope. I was still deep in my thoughts until I heard the bedroom door open. It was Stu, he walked in and closed the door behind him. I sniffled and hurriedly wiped my tears.
“I hope you took what I said seriously.” He said before sitting down on the bed. “Uhm- I did, and I decided that I needed to have a talk with Sidney because maybe she doesn’t like Randy in that way and it’s just all one sided and-“ I was rambling on and on as I felt my tears run down my cheeks again. I bursted into tears, I broke down in front of Stu as he held me in his arms.
“You’re too good for that bozo anyways.” Stu said with head laid on top of mines. It was hard to focus on what he was saying because of his cologne. One thing about Stu is that he always smelled so damn good, after years of our friendship I’ve never been this up close to him. He smelled of some type of wood rainforest musk.
“Maybe it’s a good thing he’s going after Sid…you need a real man, unlike that pussy.” He scoffed as I sat up out of his arms. I softly chuckled at him before speaking up. “Stu you’re not that much of a man either.” He playfully pointed at him self in shock. “Me?!” “Yes you!” I giggled. Stu’s face now had a soft smile on his face as he scooted closer to me.
My breath hitched as his thumb stroked my cheek. “You could do so much better.” He sincerely said as he looked into my eyes. I always forget how beautiful his bright, piercing blue eyes are. I was so lost in his eyes that I didn’t notice him leaning into me until our lips collided. His lips were soft and plump, his mouth tasted like beer.
I grabbed his neck and deepened the kiss as he did the same. The kiss was hungry and passionate, nothing I’ve felt with Randy. “Let me show you what a real man is.” Stu lowly said as he pulled away from the kiss and softly pushed me on the bed. It took me a while to realize that this was his bed. His bedroom.
I was now laid on my back as he slowly sucked on my neck. Soft moans fell from my mouth as I felt him cheesing against my neck. “You like that?” His voice was so seductive and low, it made me so wet. “Mhhm” I hummed as I closed my eyes. He moved away from my neck and was now in between my legs.
He rubbed my inner thighs softly before asking me a question. “You’re one of the most innocent girls I know, so I know you haven’t done anything-“ I cocked my brow at him. “How do you know I haven’t done anything?” I asked as he gave me a look. “Okay-fine. You’re right, only thing I’ve ever done was kiss..” I was a bit embarrassed. Stu is more experienced than me and I’ve only ever kissed. I guess he could tell from the frown on my face.
“Hey, don’t worry. I won’t be rough.” He said with his charming smile. He gave me one last kiss on my lips before unbuttoning my jeans shorts and pulling them all the way off. I was nervous, my whole body became hot, and my heart was pounding. No one has ever seen me like this before.
Stu gripped my inner thighs and started rubbing my clit through my lace panties. “Ouuu!” I moaned as my eyes rolled to the back of my head. I’ve never felt this type of pleasure before. “Let me hear those pretty moans, baby. I want everyone to know who’s making you feel this way.” He smirked. He started spreading my folds through the panties and sliding his thumb up and down on my slit.
“Fuck!” I said to myself. I then felt him sliding my panties off my legs, he thought I wouldn’t notice but I saw him place my panties in his pocket. Pervert. “Your legs are so smooth and soft..and they smell good” Stu said with his hands gliding up and down on my legs. I’m so glad I shaved last night. He placed soft kisses on my inner thighs, kissing everywhere but the part I need him most.
“Stop teasing me!” I pouted. My pussy was practically throbbing and desperate for him and he’s over here playing. “Someone’s a bit demanding..” he sassily said. I rolled my eyes at his remark and his mouth was now hovering over my core. I could feel his breath on me, I was craving him, I need him. I had enough of the teasing and finally shoved his mouth onto my core.
“YESS!” I shouted as he started sucking on my clit. It felt so fucking good, his mouth was so warm and wet. My whole body jolted when his mouth connected with my clit. I tried to close my legs around his head but he grabbed them and opened them back up as I started to whine. “Don’t start bitchin now, princess, you wanted this.” He cockily said. “I knoww but it feels too good!” I practically shouted as he started poking started thrusting his tongue in and out of my pussy.
I forgot how long his tongue is but damn it sure does feel good. “You taste so good!” He said into my core as he dove deeper and was now slurping my juices. “Yeah?” I teasingly asked. Eating healthy actually paid off. “Tastes so sweet like fruit.” He moaned. I placed one leg on his shoulder as I pushed his head deeper into me.
Stu flicked his tongue back and forth as my breathing started to pick up and a tight feeling appeared in my stomach. “S-Stu-I think I’m close.” I stuttered. “Squirt on my face-I wanna taste all of those sweet juices.” He demanded.
He was now sucking on my clit basically trying to get every drop of juice out. I gripped the sheets tightly as the coil in my stomach had snapped and my pussy was spraying Stu in my juices as he was rubbing my clit as fast as he can. He let his tongue get covered in my juices, his face was glistening.
My voice was cracked after the loud scream I had let out. I fell back into the pillows as Stu now laid on top of me. “I gotta eat you out more often.” He said with his infamous smirk. I playfully rolled my eyes before responding. “You’re so nasty!” I giggled. “Kiss me, you gotta see how good you taste.” He said as immediately placed his lips on mine. My eyes widened, he in fact did not lie.
“Now common, let’s go back downstairs and enjoy the party.” He smiled before kissing me one last time. I sat up and watched Stu fix himself in the mirror before speaking up. “Can I have my panties back?” I asked with a raised brow as he shook his head. “Nah, you can get them the next time I eat you out.” He confidently said while fixing his hair. “Whatever.” I mumbled to myself before sliding my jean shorts back on.
Stu and I went back downstairs and saw Sidney sitting in Randy’s lap. I frowned a bit at the interaction, Stu noticed this and placed his arm around my waist. “Ignore those fuckers. Like I said, you’re too good for him.” I’ve never seen Stu more serious.
I nodded my head as Billy popped out of the corner and scared the living shit out of me. “Gosh, Billy! What happened to saying hello?” I complained. He studied me and Stu for a second and pointed at us. “She finally let you hit?” Billy smirked as I pinched his nipple. “Ounch!” He cried as Stu laughed at the both of us. “You’re talking about me like I’m not even here!” I stressed.
“So you two didn’t fuck? There’s just this glow to you that I’ve never seen you had-“ I cut him off before he could finish his sentence. “Shut the hell up.” I said as I rolled my eyes. “I ate her out. Should’ve heard her, she was screaming and everything.” Stu laughed as they dapped each other up.
“Stu!” I whispered yelled as he laughed. He gripped my ass I took me into a kiss, it felt right, I didn’t even try to back away from it. He pulled away from the kiss and spoke up. “I’m sure you wouldn’t mind Billy joining us?” He lowly said in my ear. I looked over at Billy as he was now standing in front of me too. “I’m sure the princess doesn’t mind, doesn’t she?” He asked, referring to me.
“Not at all.” I breathlessly said. As I was about to walk up the stairs with the both of them, Randy came running over. Stu and Billy both rolled their eyes at him. “Where are you guys going?l” he asked, you could tell he was a bit nervous and slightly worried. “We gotta handle something, won’t be done until about an hour, two tops.” Billy smirked as I tried to hold in my laugh.
Before he could say anything else, Billy and Stu practically dragged me up the stairs and that’s when Randy caught on. We hurried up to Stu’s room and locked the door. Randy was banging on and apologizing.
I was too busy sitting in between the boys and kissing them both at the same time. Randy could hear my moans from out the door. He know figured out that I must I’ve saw Sid sitting on his lap.
He couldn’t do anything but sit outside the door and listen.
That should be him. Not Billy or Stu he thought to himself.

It's been a few...mostly because I had so many chapters needing editing and posting that I didn't actually have much time to write! And, like many of you, I've been working on Valentines (still working on Valentines) (a few are gonna be late). I've got writing donethis week, though, so here goes:
Thank you to: @monbons, @thewholelemon, @nausikaaa, @you-remind-me-of-the-babe, @confused-bi-queer,
@larkral, @bookishbroadwayandblind,@best--dress, @j-nipper-95, @leithillustration,
@rimeswithpurple, @roomwithanopenfire, @prettygoododds, @noblecorgi, @artsyunderstudy, for tagging me over the last couple of weeks.
The good news is, if I don't have sentences for it below, a chapter probably was posted in the last two weeks. With no further ado, here's a few sets of (probably about) six sentences.
From Stars, Flowers, and Children:
I thought it might take some searching; it’s been years, after all. It would have been unsurprising if Davy's corpse had been carried off in dozens of different pieces by local scavengers.
But no. He’s right where we left him.
All of the indestructible parts of him, anyway. Any fragments of clothing or flesh or organs have gone…he’s a pile of sun-bleached bones face down in the sand. A few metal bits like his belt buckle and some copper buttons are scattered amongst  the bones, but no soft parts remain.
From my Visitor Baz AU:
Penny doesn’t understand why this bothers me so much. She doesn’t get it. Baz is just…indelible. Somehow, Watford isn’t Watford now that he’s gone. I don’t know how to be, without my sneering roommate tossing insults at me all the time.
Fuck, I even sound pathetic to myself.
I fold my elbows over my eyes and groan, long and loud. Fuck me, what am I going to do? And that’s when I hear him.
“Problems, Snow?”
From CORB #1, Baby Mine with @argumentativeantitheticalg
Fuck, I’ve started to think of this situation as if it were going to be long term. I need to stop. I’ll just break my own heart. Simon has a life, a job. If I’m lucky, he’ll agree to weekend visitation with our daughter, once this mystery is solved. I’ll see him for a few minutes in passing as we exchange Abigail at the front door.
My eyes are stinging. I need to change this train of thought now before I utterly humiliate myself. “When do you need to return to London?” I blurt.
Oh, well done, Basilton. That’s absolutely changing the subject.
From CORB #2: The Stoves Come On At Night, with @ebbpettier
I’ve learned a few things from Vera, who’s nearly old enough to have served the Pitches when they lived here. She told me that the room I chose belonged to Mordelia’s brother who died young. Apparently, after he died, the Grimms kept the boy’s room as it was when he’d lived, like some sort of memorial. And their daughter has continued the tradition since the property descended to her. I guess that explains why the decor is simpler in my room.
Maybe it should creep me out that my bedroom belonged to a dead kid, but it’s an old house. Probably every bedroom has belonged to someone who’s since died. And I’m not superstitious.

I chose an alternate prompt for Day Nine of Bucktommy Fluffebruary: Drunken Love Confessions. Tommy's is really the prompt filling one, but everyone feels the love in this Chili's tonight. I realized I completely forgot this entire time that Melton is a Captain, so I've been writing him as just one of the other firefighters and made up some guy named Bryant that I mention in at least one other prompt fill. Melton bb I'm so sorry. You'll get that promotion soon. Tagging @bucktommyfluffebruary.
A joint bachelor party had been Tommy’s idea, because they’d fought over who got who as a guest for about five minutes before Tommy realized they had almost all the same friends. So why bother splitting the party up?
Maddie, Eddie, and Sal organize it as Evan’s co-Best Man and Woman and Tommy’s Best Man, and it turns into a bar crawl with a couple stops at places to get real food with a karaoke spot as their final destination. That had been Howie’s touch, because he felt guilty for missing the last karaoke bachelor party even though it was through no fault of his own. Plus, who doesn’t like karaoke?
The thing is, the last bar had been a tiki place, and tiki drinks are strong, so they’re all messes by the time they reach the karaoke place. Tommy claims a corner of the couch and pulls Evan into his lap when his fiancé passes by.
“You’re so-o pretty,” Tommy says, because Evan is so pretty. No one prettier has ever existed, and it’s a thought he’s had while he was sober, so it’s true.
“You’re pretty,” Evan counters, cupping his chin and squeezing so Tommy’s lips pucker. When Evan kisses him, it’s sloppy and probably not appropriate for their friends and family, but it’s a bachelor party. It’s two bachelor parties, actually they’re supposed to have double the debauchery.
“Are you gonna give me a lapdance later?” Tommy asks, squeezing his hip.
“Maybe,” Evan says, licking his lips, and Tommy watches his tongue raptly. He wants to chase it with his own, wants to feel it trace along his—
“Oh, my god, I’m going to dump water on you two in a minute,” Karen says, plopping down next to them. “Which one of you is singing with me?”
“Me,” Tommy says, grinning at her. He loves singing with Karen. She’s one of the best singers he’s ever met in his life, so he likes being around her when she sings. He’s not very good, but she doesn’t judge him.
“My Sonny,” she coos, pinching his cheek.
“My Cher,” he sighs.
Sonny Bono was known for two things: being Italian and not being as good a singer as Cher. Well, he was known for other things, too, but that isn’t relevant to Tommy’s situation. He doesn't plan on becoming a Republican, the mayor of Palm Springs, or a U.S. Representative. He does, however, plan on doing his best to croon along with Karen to “I Got You Babe” or “All I Ever Need Is You,” because she gets to belt more lines in that one and he wants to show her off.
There’s a bit of hubbub near the door to their suite, and then Bobby and Athena appear with a cake between them to a lot of cheers. They hadn’t joined them on the bar crawl, because Athena had said it would feel too much like Mom and Dad crashing their kids’ party. Tommy’s delighted to see them, because he hadn’t been expecting them at all. He and Evan cheer, and Evan wobbles out of his lap to hug them as soon as the cake is set on the table. Tommy gets hauled up by Hen so he can do the same thing, because the couch is deep and he is tall and drunk.
“You good?” Hen asks, and Tommy squeezes the back of her neck with a laugh.
“I'm great,” he says, leaving a wet kiss on her cheek.
Hen laughs and holds his head in place so she can do the same, and they end up simultaneously wiping slobber off their cheeks and giggling together on their way over to Bobby and Athena.
He’s gotten really close with Bobby and Athena ever since he and Evan got back together, but he’s not really a hugger with them. He is, however, drunk enough that it seems like a great time to turn into one. As he’s enveloped in Bobby’s arms and then stoops to have Athena do the same, he thinks it’s a good thing to keep going.
“Don’t be too happy to see us yet,” Athena warns, nodding toward the cake. “Hen ordered it.”
“I'm always happy to see a cake,” Tommy says, grinning. When he finally gets a good look at it, though, he bursts out laughing.
It’s unbelievably stupid, and Tommy whips out his phone to take several photos from many different angles, including one of Evan crouched next to it with his tongue near the one that’s shaped—presumably—like Tommy’s ass. It's one of those molded sexy cakes, and it’s two shapely naked asses seen under the hem of non-regulation turnout jackets—they’d never sit that high—with each of their names “sewn” on the hem. Each of their surnames has been added to the other to make it look like it’s handwritten into the correct spot to make them say “Buckley-Kinard.”
He loves it.
He loves everyone in this room so much.
“We should've had this be the wedding cake,” Evan says as he slips his arm around Tommy's waist. They pose next to the cake for pictures.
“Looks like I get to eat your ass twice tonight,” Tommy murmurs through his teeth as Howie takes their picture.
Howie bursts out laughing and shows them the picture. Evan’s face is caught between a grin and surprise, so his eyebrows are up near his hairline and his face is bright red.
“The hell did you say to him, BK?” Lucy asks, elbowing him.
“Not telling,” Tommy says, hugging his fiancé like a teddy bear. “She started calling me that last week. Know why?”
“It's your new last name initials in a week?” Evan guesses, because he's smart. He's so smart and pretty, and Tommy is the luckiest guy in the world.
“Yeah,” he confirms with a happy sigh, getting caught in his fiancé’s eyes for a moment.
“Alright, now that everyone’s here,” Sal says on the microphone, even though they’re in a small room and everyone could hear him if he just raised his voice enough, “I’d like to say a couple words, because there’s some stuff I can’t say in my Best Man speech. Such as: is anyone else dreading having to knock real loud going into every room these two are in for the next few months?”
“We already do that!” Ravi calls, and Tommy buries his face in his hands to hide his flushed, embarrassed giggles. Evan tightens his arms around him and kisses under his ear with a breathless giggle of his own.
“Seriously, I’ve started bringing earplugs if I’m going to crash in their guest room,” Sal adds, grinning. “I haven’t seen two people so into each other since I met Gina and got charged with public indecency twice—”
“Should’ve been three times,” Athena adds.
He points to her and grins. “And I thank you for that, Sarge. But it’s bad enough that I’ve had to start putting fuckin’ blinders on whenever Tommy opens his phone around me—well done, Buckley, by the way, you got a real eye for photography—but they’re also so in love with each other that it makes the rest of us look bad. I can only hope that they chill out in the next fifty years, but we all know we’re still going to be loudly announcing ourselves before we turn a corner even when they’re retired.
“So congratulations, boys, on finding true love, holding onto it, and never letting go of it,” he continues, his grin widening. “And never letting go of other things, apparently. To Tommy and Buck!”
Everyone cheers and echoes his toast, and Tommy is never going to be able to look any of them in the eye again.
“We’re not that bad, are we?” he asks, and Evan laughs loudly in his ear.
“Baby, we’re worse.” He nuzzles his cheek and murmurs, “They don’t even know what we get up to in our own house.”
Tommy bites his lip and is about to respond when he hears Sal call, “See what I mean?”
“Shut up,” Tommy says, throwing a balled up napkin at him. “Maddie, would you like to make an inappropriate speech?”
“I’m alright,” she says, grinning. “I changed Buck’s diapers, so it would be a little weird. Also, I make a lot of noise when I’m in your house for a reason. I don’t need to see all that.”
“I told you!” Evan says to Tommy, who had believed that Maddie was just comfortable at their house.
“Eddie?” Sal offers, and Eddie comes up to the platform acting as the stage, looping an arm around Sal’s shoulders.
“This guy is right,” he says, nodding toward Sal. “But he doesn’t have to work with Buck. So let me tell you all about how I walked in on these two Facetiming while Buck was in the showers. Thankfully, Buck’s got waterproof earbuds. Unfortunately, I could still hear him speak.”
“Oh no,” Evan groans, hiding his face in his hands. “Eddie, you said you were going to be washing the engine.”
“Yeah, and then Joey from B-shift kindly offered to do it instead, so I wandered my happy ass into the showers and heard my best friend complain, ‘But it won’t fit,’” he says, his voice taking on a high, breathy quality. “And then: ‘You’re going to have to force it.’ So I, being a family man—shut up, Chimney—loudly announced myself to the room, because what if Cap walked in? What if Hen walked in? What if literally anyone walked in?”
“Should I be hearing this?” Maddie asks.
“And I hear Buck call, ‘Hey, Eddie, Tommy might need you to help him drop in this transmission after work if you’re free,’” Eddie says flatly, and the whole room erupts in laughter. “And, yes, I did help, because that Chevelle was beautiful. Do I believe that they were actually talking about a transmission? I do, because otherwise I’d need to pour bleach in my ears. Is it very telling that I genuinely thought they’d get up to that kind of thing at literally any time of day when one or both of them is working? Yeah, a little. You guys are unbelievable. I love you both, I can’t wait to be there for you guys when you get married. I thank you for including my son in your ceremony, because he loves both of you more than you’ll ever know, but keep it PG around the kid, okay?”
“We always do!” Evan protests.
“No, we do,” Tommy agrees quickly as Eddie comes to them for hugs. “I promise.”
“Oh, I know, or I’d be making you answer whatever questions he’d be asking,” Eddie says, patting his cheek.
“Let’s get a groom up here,” Sal says to a round of cheers.
“Alright,” Tommy says, kissing Evan before going to Sal and grabbing the mic. “Alright, I get it, we’ll—well, I’m sorry, I can’t make any promises other than ‘we’ll try.’ But—Sal, sit down, you mook—I swear we don’t mean to be that bad. Anyway, I am not standing here to defend our very healthy and normal attraction to each other—”
“Oh, my god,” Evan says, burying his face in his hands as Eddie cackles next to him.
“—I’m here to thank you all for putting up with us,” Tommy says, looking out at the grinning faces of everyone he loves, even though they’re all a little blurry. “And for being there for us through everything, good and bad, and being people we can go to when things are bad or I’m freaking out about proposing or whatever it is I’m freaking out about at the time. I love you guys so much. You’re all amazing and wonderful, and sometimes I have to remind myself this isn’t a dream, because you’re the family I always wanted but didn’t think I’d get. So, thank you. I love you, thank you for being here and for always being there for us. Someone please take this microphone from me.”
Howie rushes the platform to hug him around the middle, and then Maddie, Karen, Hen, Lucy, Ravi, Melton, Eddie, and Sal follow until Tommy is in the center of a group hug. He can see over almost everyone’s heads, and so he can see the way Evan’s beaming at him with tear-filled eyes and the way that Bobby and Athena go to either side of his fiancé to put an arm around him and smile at Tommy, too.
There’s a chorus of “We love you”s from everyone, and then Tommy wrestles his arm free so he can bring the mic to his lips.
“Alright, who’s first on the list?” he asks.
“Me!” Lucy calls, making grabby hands for the mic.
He hands it off and detangles himself from the group so he can go to the three people standing off to the side.
“Liquid courage?” Athena guesses, patting his cheek with a fond smile.
“Yeah, a little,” Tommy admits, grinning. “That obvious?”
She snorts and fixes him with a knowing look. “Only to anyone with eyes.”
He gets a tight hug from a damp-eyed Bobby, who gruffly tells him he's proud of him and that he loves him, too. Tommy kind of sags against him for a second before getting a full-bodied hug from Athena that shouldn’t make him feel so small, and then there’s Evan in front of him.
“I love you,” Tommy says, his insides gooey and molten like they always are when Evan’s smiling at him like that. “Most of all.”
Evan steps into his space and puts his arms around him, crossing his wrists behind Tommy’s neck. “I love you most of all, too. You’re so drunk, babe.”
“I am.” He hugs Evan around the middle and rubs his cheek on the soft sweater he’s wearing. It feels nice. “Do we really scar them that much?”
Evan’s body shakes against his with laughter. “Yeah, I think we do.”
“Should we stop?”
“Nah, we’ll enjoy it while it lasts. Kids’ll probably slow us down.”
Tommy melts against Evan, letting him take his entire weight. Kids. They’ll have kids one day, and maybe grandkids, and he’s going to be scared out of his mind that he’s going to fuck them up and he has an entire group of people to turn to when that happens. It takes a village, and he has one. He knows he’s crying, but they’re happy tears. His face is also hidden in Evan’s neck, so no one can see.
But he doesn’t really care if they do. They’re family. Family cries around each other and doesn’t judge. Real families, at least, like theirs.
He sways with Evan to the sound of Ravi and Lucy wailing “Don’t You Want Me” by Human League into their microphones, and he feels something deep inside his heart finally heal.

OMNISCIENT Yasmine and Jey are making the most of their honeymoon by indulging in a variety of thrilling activities they've always dreamed of experiencing together. From jet skiing to riding dirt bikes, they are embracing every adventure that comes their way, creating unforgettable memories along the journey.
They truly needed a break from work, especially with all the recent drama surrounding Melo and Liv. However, that was irrelevant now because Yasmine and Jey have found solace in each other.
Yasmine was captivated by the transformation in Jey; he had become a completely new person. His actions revealed the depth of his love for her, proving that despite all the challenges they faced, his feelings remained unwavering and profound.
Yasmine lounged in the backyard, soaking up the sun as she lay on her stomach, feeling the warm rays caress her delicate skin. Suddenly, she heard the back door creak open, and she instinctively knew it was Jey stepping outside to check on her.
He watched in awe as his wife basked in the sunlight, her face hidden beneath a cover. Slowly, he approached and settled beside her. It wasn't until she felt his soft, lingering kisses on her skin that she stirred, a delightful shiver coursing through her at his gentle caress.
He brushed her hair aside, planting soft kisses on her neck as she let out a soft whimper. When she opened her eyes, she found him beside her, a warm smile lighting up his face.
He begins to say, "Hey, Mamas," Yasmine smiled at him as she turned her head to face him.
"Hi, Big Daddy, what are you up to right now?" She asked as she gave him a small peck on the lips.
"I'm just admiring my wife who's looking hella fine in this two-piece swimsuit," Yasmine laughed at his comment, rolling onto her back to give him an unobstructed view of her figure.
He bent closer to her, gently pressing his lips against hers while her fingers tenderly explored his salt-and-pepper beard. In that intimate moment, his tongue danced playfully within her mouth.
She could feel his hand slithering down from her stomach to her private area and began rubbing it gently causing her to flinch at his touch yet again as her lips never left his while doing so.
She couldn't lie to herself that she was feeling super wet down there just from him kissing all up on her and touching her it just made her all jittery, Jey moved her panties to the side feeling how warm and moist she was down there while sticking two fingers inside of her gently thrusting them in and out of her.
Yasmine arched her back against the chair moaning between the kiss stumbling on her words.
"J-Josh...." She muttered.
He pulled away from the kiss just to look down at her crumbling underneath his touch.
"She's so wet for me mama, knowing who she belongs to huh?" Jey cooed at her as Yasmine had her eyes rolling in the back of her head.
He stroked his fingers in and out of her hearing nothing but his hand slapping against her pussy hitting her clit as she moaned his name softly.
"Fuckkk, Joshuaaa,"
"Mhm, keep calling for me baby. Daddy is right here,"
✧˚° Yasmine lay in bed, peacefully asleep after experiencing a series of intense orgasms that had left her utterly exhausted. Meanwhile, Jey was in the living room, engrossed in a show on TV. As he watched, he felt his phone vibrate, glancing down to see that his brother was calling.
OTP Jonathan🩸: yoooo twin what's good? TwinJey🩸: it's been good you feel me Jonathan🩸: where's the wife? It sounds hella quiet in there Uce TwinJey🩸: she's sleeping right now Jonathan🩸: you piped her down didn't you TwinJey🩸: I mean I didn't do allat just gave her that finger stroke technique had her ass squirming Jonathan🩸: yall some freaks for real so how's the honeymoon going TwinJey🩸: it's been going good we did a lot of activities during our time here probably when she wake up we'll head out to do some more things Jonathan🩸: I'm glad yall are enjoying the honeymoon together when did the doc say you'll be able to come back? TwinJey🩸: he said probably two weeks in the meantime I'm just going to be at home chilling waiting for Yasmine to come home Jonathan🩸: ohh aight can't wait for you to get yo' shi back Melo been walking around here talking shi knowing that his ass will be dealt with and behind bars
Jey was about to speak when he caught sight of Yasmine emerging from their bedroom, her red robe elegantly draped around her. His gaze followed her as she gracefully made her way into the kitchen to grab a drink.
TwinJey🩸: Yeah, Uce he don't know what's coming to him
He rose from the couch and made his way into the kitchen, where he wrapped his arm around Yasmine. She turned to him, her smile brightening as she caught the sound of Jonathan's voice in the background.
TwinJey🩸: hiii Brotherrr Jonathan🩸: sistaaaa hey minks TwinJey🩸: aight twin I gotta go duty calls Jonathan🩸: you mean that pussy calling out to you dawg TwinJey🩸: mmcht, mane you funny bye uce
CALLED ENDED.
Jey focused entirely on Yasmine, gently pushing her hair aside as he kissed her neck and jawline, his body pressing against her with undeniable desire.
"What you tryna do for the rest of the day Minks?" He asked her.
"I wanted us to be on the bamboo raft while the rafter guide peddles us around," Yasmine said as she felt Jey grasping her chin for her to look at him.
He kissed her soft lips, "Yeah, we can do that mama. c'mon so we can get ready then," Yasmine nodded her head as Jey gave her a slap on her butt before walking away.
Her and Jey, fully prepared for their adventure, journeyed to the picturesque countryside of Montego Bay, heading towards the enchanting Martha Brae River. As they arrived, they spotted the rafter captain enthusiastically waving at them, extending a warm welcome to Montego Bay. He eagerly shared that he would guide them through the fascinating world of local plants and animals, while also unveiling the rich history of the area.
Jey gently released Yasmine's hand, allowing her to step onto the bamboo raft ahead of him. He settled in behind her, carefully wrapping his arm around her waist, mindful of his broken left arm. The rafter captain greeted them with fresh coconuts, each equipped with a straw, as he started to navigate through the lush jungle.
Yasmine and Jey absorbed the man's captivating tales of the jungle's history, their drinks in hand. As they listened intently, Jey leaned in and gently kissed her cheek, all while remaining engaged in the fascinating narrative.
"Did you know that the lifespan of this bamboo raft that you're sitting on is six months?" The Rafter said before continuing on, "especially when the these here bamboo pales are fell at special points of the lunar cycle to ensure its longevity," he said.
The serene atmosphere enveloped them, filled with the soothing sounds of nature, free from any distractions or disturbances. In this tranquil setting, they found solace, far removed from the chaos that had been surrounding them. Suddenly, Yasmine noticed a vendor selling beautiful seashells. Eager to explore this intriguing find, she requested the boat captain to make a brief stop, and he graciously obliged.
Yasmine approached the man, who welcomed her with a display of various seashells for sale. Meanwhile, Jey watched his wife with admiration, delighted to see her having such a wonderful time.
"You're a very lucky man," The Rafter said.
"Very much indeed luck my man," Jey responded after noticing Yasmine return, proudly displaying her seashell.
The Rafter pressed on, navigating through the dense jungles as he shared the captivating history of the area with them.
As the continued on the trail the Rafter began speaking again, "do you know how did Martha Brae River got its name?"
"Did something happen?" Yasmine asked as the rafter nodded his head, "Legend has it that Martha Brae was an indigenous Tanio women who was tortured by Spanish invaders until she confessed where the gold was hidden among the river," he said. "After telling them, it is said that she changed the course of the river, killed the settlers and blocked up the cave where the gold is still hidden to the day."
Both she and Jey nodded in agreement as they attentively listened to the man.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, Yasmine and Jey made their way back from the countryside, their hearts set on the beach for a perfect evening together. Yasmine spread out her towel and settled onto it, the soothing sound of the ocean waves crashing around her creating a serene backdrop for their shared moment.
Jey was enjoying a shower, relishing the solitude while scrolling through her phone. It was during this moment that she received a message from someone she no longer considered a friend.
Trick🙄 sent a message
Trick🙄: I heard you got married and now on a honeymoon?
Yasmine let out a frustrated sigh, her eyes rolling as she read the message. She couldn't understand how he was still able to reach her after she had blocked him.
IMESSAGE 💬 Minnie🧃: how do you keep getting my number after I block you? Trick🙄: cmon minks we still best friends so obviously imma still know yo' number Minnie🧃: that's not the point what do you want? Trick🙄: I see that you're married now to him after everything he has done to you? Especially putting you in a hospital Minnie🧃: that was in the past? And it's been like a year since that happened he's a different man now Trick🙄: a different man huh? Then what about Melo then? Minnie🧃: didn't he tell you that I've gotten a restraining order against him and they got footage of him raping me in my locker room? Trick🙄: he didn't tell me all of that damn you still hurting from that? Minnie🧃: Trick don't pmo like honestly leave me alone and I don't care about Melo because I got Jey now and he makes me happy truly happy at least he owned up to his mistakes and changed unlike your so called best friend Trick🙄: don't do Melo like that Minks Minnie🧃: what the fuck ever trick go ahead and keep defending him like an idiot Trick🙄: wow so it's like that? Minnie🧃: it's been like that ever since he fucking raped me and you didn't believe me as my best friend so yeah Trick🙄: mane Minnie🧃: bye Trick
Yasmine silenced his number once more, setting her phone aside as she closed her eyes, seeking tranquility. She didn’t deserve this turmoil during her honeymoon, especially from someone like Trick, who seemed to defend Carmelo as if his very existence hinged on it.
As she absorbed the soothing sound of the waves colliding, a gentle kiss on her neck stirred her from her reverie. When she opened her eyes, she was greeted by the sight of her dashing husband, a towel draped around his torso, accentuating his chiseled physique.
His towering 6'2 frame loomed over her as she gazed up, and even with a broken arm, he exuded an undeniable charm. The way he looked at her stirred something deep within, igniting a desire to surrender to him like never before. Yasmine's eyes drifted down to his soft member, prompting a playful chuckle from him.
He grasped her chin making her look up at him, "my eyes are up here mamas," He said in a low tone voice that made her shiver.
Yasmine knelt down, planting soft kisses along his stomach, gradually making her way up to his chest and neck. Each kiss left a mark, reminiscent of a vampire's bite, as she playfully sucked on his skin. Meanwhile, she felt his free hand glide down to her backside, giving it a firm squeeze. He was eager to let her take charge, wanting to witness her more assertive side.
She didn't hesitate to rub her hand against his dick stroking it up and down as she felt a bit of his pre-cum dripping out from the head of his dick causing him to stutter at her touch.
"What you tryna do to me baby?" Jey asked softly.
"I wanna take care of you big daddy, since you always do it for me," Yasmine said trailing kissing down his jawline. "You want mama to take care of you baby?" Jey nodded his head as Yasmine removed the towel from his torso seeing his dick rock hard waiting for her mouth to be on it.
SMUT WARNING Yasmine was bobbing her head along moving her fingers up and down on his dick swirling her tongue around the head of it hearing his precious moans escaping his lips watching her take control.
He had his available hand wrapped around her hair as Yasmine continued to go down on him he was trying his best not to thrust his hips inside of her mouth but he couldn't help it; it felt so good.
He watched her take him completely in her throat as Yasmine relaxed her throat as much as she could gazing up at him, she began showing his balls some love while stroking his dick up and down causing him to throw his head back.
"Fuck, mama. Just like that ohh fuck," he moaned.
Yasmine brushed her thumb around the head of his dick making him clench his thighs together while rolling his eyes in the back of his head, she went back to going down on him causing her to gag but relaxed her throat in the end.
She swallowed his dick and half-gagged on it, enjoying the searing sensation she was experiencing at the moment. She had him twitching and shaking due to her tongue caressing down his shaft.
"My god mamas, sucking me up so good. hmm," his guttural moan escaped his lips feeling Yasmine's hands on his throat which caught him off guard but enjoyed it.
She moaned against his dick feeling all of her spit dripping off her lips trickling down her cheek as her tongue gilding around his dick.
As her throat relaxed she allowed him to put a few more inches down her throat taking him all in as much as she could gazing up at him in the process.
She had a good rhythm going while feeling his dick twitching inside of her mouth as she felt her pussy being soaking wet and throbbing waiting to pounce on him within a second.
Her thumb kept brushing up against his sensitive tip leaving him feeling like he was on cloud nine for a moment. "Fuck, mama, fuck." Jey felt like he was losing himself right then and there.
His cock brushed against her throat feeling his balls tightened as she ground onto him, his cock had a slight curve to him banging against her throat but she didn't mind it at all.
All you could hear were sloppy noises coming from her lips as all of her drool was trickling down her face she love the way he sounded and wasn't afraid to show it either.
She wanted to take good care of him while he was recovering just like how he does with her; Yasmine felt his hands caressing her cheeks gazing into her catlike eyes as his dick twitched again causing him to roll his eyes in the back of his skull.
"I'm finna nut mama, ohh mamaaa fuccck," Jey pushed down her head as his warm seeds filled her throat up with ease causing her to swallow the savory flavor of his cum.
Yasmine wasn't done with him yet after she removed her lips from his cock she got up from her knees and held his hand taking him towards their shared bedroom, she pushed him down on the bed straddling him in the process.
Making him feel how wet she was for him she didn't care how sensitive he was feeling right now she grabbed the head of his cock aligning it into her entrance while sanking down on it causing her and him to groan.
Yasmine began moving her hips up and down as Jey watched her do it she held onto his shoulders for more support so that she wouldn't fall riding him passionately.
She place her lips upon his as they began making out passionately swirling her tongue around inside of his mouth while he gripped her ass with his available hand.
Her hands were tugging onto his hair pulling him deeper into the kiss she wanted to wore him out so that he could get some good rest.
She tugged onto his bottom lip pulling it back before going back into the kiss all you could hear was her ass cheeks slapping against his thighs.
Yasmine whined as she felt a slight sting in her right ass cheek signaling that he had smack her ass.
"Ouuu fuck, daddy. this dick feels so good," She muttered.
"Yeah? Keep bouncing on this dick fo' me mama, sexy ass." Jey responded back smacking her ass once more.
As she passionately rode him she replace his lips onto his neck sucking on it making him lose his mind yet again over her control and dominance that she was showing him.
"You drive me fucking crazy for you mama, I will kill a motha-fuka over you baby." He whispered softly in her ear while using his hand to guide her through it.
His dick was kissing her cervix so good it had her seeing stars he could feel how wet and warm she was for him and only him. "Daddy, Ouu daddy." She moaned out. "You love it when I take control huh?" She breathed out.
Yasmine rolled her hips around causing her to roll her eyes in the back of her head before gazing into his deeply.
"Hell yeah, look sexy tryna be dominant mama. Keep goin for me baby just like that,"
Yasmine loved the way her pussy was swallowing up his cock so good along with her milky cream coating his cock so well, he deserves this treatment after everything he has done for her of course.
She kept swirling her hips around his cock feeling it; hitting her g-spot time after time again it felt like his dick was inside of her guts at this point.
"S-shit minks,"
"I own this dick don't I big daddy?"
"Mhmm, sure do baby. this dick is all yours,"
She felt Jey wrapping his arm around her waist and began thrusting his hips to her movements causing her to cry out loudly, Yasmine bit the bottom of her lip her eyes never leaving his as he was fucking her silly.
"D-dadddy I was t-taking...overrr fuckk,"
"you had yo' fun mama, now it's daddy's turn princess," Yasmine wrapped her arms around his neck making sure that she didn't put any pressure on his left shoulder that was broken letting him fuck her the way he wanted to.
He fucked her senselessly as her face was buried in his neck moaning his name in his ear for him to hear his hand gripped her ass cheek while giving it a smack seeing her ass jiggling throughout his thrust.
"Hmm, yo' pussy feels so fucking good baby, so wet for daddy huh?" Jey grunted.
"Yesss, daddyyy, only for you." she moaned as she felt a knot forming inside of her stomach.
Her pussy was clenching against him as he pummeled her gushy insides hearing her whiny state, "you mines you hear me minks? You're fucking mines" he moaned out placing soft kisses on her neck.
She felt herself losing it at this point until he started whispering some nasty shit in her ear that she wanted to hear from him she loved that from him hearing his deep and raspy voice talking her through her orgasm.
Jey was digging in her wet cunt so deeply Yasmine couldn't even speak as her words were trembling around earning a chuckle from him.
Yasmine let herself go as she her orgasm catched up to her causing her to let out a loud whimper escape her lips as he continued beat her insides in deeper and deeper her milky cream coated up his dick so well it lead Jey to trace kissing down her face to soothe her.
"look at you, taking daddy's big dick so well huh mama? Oh I'm finna nut all in yo' pussy milk you right up too," Yasmine mind was in a daze feeling defeated after her intense orgasm that she just had she didn't care if he nutted in her.
The air thicken around them while it felt hot and steamy feeling a puddle of sweat coming down their bodies along with it their bodies feeling sticky due to their sweat.
Yasmine managed to breathe out, "I love you so muchhh dadddy," earning a kiss from him.
"I love you too baby," Jey had felt his dick twitching as he held onto Yasmine's waist tightly while ramming deep inside of her cussing underneath his breath.
He slammed inside of her one last time as he let out a guttural moan escape his lips filling her up with his warm seeds throughout her inner walls it was the most satisfying thing that he could have experienced.
Thrusting slowly into her now sensitive cunt making sure that none of his seeds spilled out of her before pulling out.
Jey had pulled out from her staying in that position as he was rubbing circles around her back noticing that her body was shaking and her legs felt like jello.
Yasmine rested her head against his chest, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat gradually slow. As the soothing sound enveloped her, her eyelids grew heavy, and she drifted off to sleep. Gently, he lifted her and laid her on her side of the bed, tenderly covering her with blankets. He placed a gentle kiss on her temple before quietly making his way to the bathroom.
SMUT OVER
✧˚°
YASMINE I had woken up from my long slumber noticing that it was dark outside I started to smell something good coming from the kitchen despite my legs feeling like jello I managed to get up from the bed while putting on my red silky robe before heading towards the kitchen.
I noticed Jey in the kitchen, skillfully cooking with just one arm. A wave of concern washed over me as I approached him, my face reflecting my confusion, and he turned to meet my gaze.
"What's up mama?" He asked.
"Joshua, you need to be resting not cooking pumpkin," I said folding my arms over my chest as I form my lips into a pout.
He chuckled at me leaning down towards my face to plant a kiss on my lips giving me some sort of comfort.
"Mamas I'm good, I'm almost done anyways so go sit yo' pretty ass on the couch for me," his words and his voice turned me on so much as I obeyed him going towards the couch.
I picked up the remote and started watching "Interview with an Vampire" on Netflix while I waited for him to finish his dinner. He served my plate first, followed by his own, and then brought over a drink for us to enjoy.
The meal consisted of a perfectly cooked medium rare steak accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes and fresh asparagus. It looked absolutely delicious. As we dug into our dinner, we enjoyed the show together. He was unfamiliar with the plot, so I took the opportunity to explain it to him without giving away any spoilers.
"So this dude is interviewing a vampire?" He asked.
I nodded my head, "yeah, he's making it into a book but that's all I'm telling you because I don't want to spoil it," Jey had smacked his lips at me causing me to chuckle at him. "Don't smack your teeth at me you just gotta watch the show love,"
We spent the remainder of the night engrossed in the show, sharing laughter and moments together. When I finally stood up to tackle the dishes, I felt his familiar presence close by, his gentle touch a reminder of his affection for me.
He lifted me effortlessly by the thighs with one arm, carrying me toward the couch. As he settled in, he resumed the show, resting his head on my stomach, his gaze fixed intently on the screen.
I gently stroked his silky hair, massaging his scalp while he playfully kicked his feet in delight, completely absorbed in the show.
He was mine once again and I was his.

sorry for informality but i was stalking reading your pinned post and you’re in grad school at twenty!??!!!
unless i’m tripping or misunderstanding something, academic weapon tips please because holy shit that’s insane! what’s ur field of study if you want to talk about it/don’t mind me asking? any application tips/things you wished you knew before getting there/habits you wished you’d formed sooner? independent research has always been difficult for me because of how much i depend on structure (adhd imposter syndrome anxiety lets go) so if you’re working on a thesis/something similar, how has the process been in your experience?
i’m in undergrad atm and heavily debating going further, so i’d love to hear from someone my age who’s actually doing it! also unrelated, but i’m a certified notion/goodnotes girlie if you vibe with those as study resources!
🎸 tagging with an emoji in case i pop back around, yk?
I'm sorry to say, but my tips might come off as sort of typical... but I hope they're at least a little helpful!
I am currently in a masters program within the analytics field. Research/independent studies vary widely depending on the area of specialization, however, my program has an intensive practicum that is similar in nature. I have not started it yet, but what I can say for sure when it comes to research: make sure you are picking a topic that you could speak about for hours/answer argumentative questions about.
For applications, I would say to narrow your options down as much as possible and look into each program before applying. Know the curriculum and standard outline and what stands out to you as you decide.
^ on this same note, you will likely need at least one interview in the application process. Speak slowly and enunciate. Taking a moment to think of the proper words will always be better than speaking quickly without much thought. Most people say to use "down-speak" in these interviews, but in my experience, matching the examiners tone and energy makes the whole thing much more comfortable.
For study tips, I have a large notebook that I keep on my desk where I write down every assignment and the date that it is due. This is just for organization purposes, I find a physical copy helpful for a few reasons but also because crossing them off feels rewarding :]
Time managment is incredibly important. Everyone says this because it is true. Prep everything, organizing your day into chunks. Since you also like structure, this probably wont be an issue. I would also get comfortable with being self-aware of your priorities. There will come a time when you will need to choose between academics/work and other areas of your life.
Keep your spaces clean. Dedicate a day or so to just organizing/doing a deep clean. It will help you stay focused and minimize external anxiety. It’s also much easier to keep a place clean if you have put in such an effort.
Participate in class. I cannot make this clear enough. I promise it is not embarrassing to ask questions or "try". You will learn far easier if you put effort into the classroom/lecture setting.
It is a pretty typical "tip" is to just ask questions. Even if you feel like you might understand, just ask to make sure. And in this same vein, go to office hours if you need to.
Prioritize sleep lol, that and mental rest. You can't always be studying. For me, it is a real challenge to work and be full time in school so it's important to carve out those sections of "you time".
Try not to be on your phone tooooooooo much, I know it’s hard but I make an effort to not be on my phone while eating. Don’t use entertainment as a distraction, I find that it just delays anxiety :(
Lastly, apply for scholarships and know that you absolutely can appeal for more money.
I hope this was useful. Do know that it REALLY depends on your area of study and 5-year-plan. I would recommend not going to grad school unless you're absolutely sure it is worth it.
Good luck!

Hey so today’s my birthday, and birthdays kinda always suck for me (I’ve never known why and I’m fairly sure I’m not alone on this). But anyway, I was wondering if you could write something about Ace’s first concrete birthday with Jemily and maybe it kinda feels weird for her too?
Happy birthday! Sending you virtual love 💜
The First True Birthday
(Available on Ao3 here)
Even though you promised you’d tell her about your birthday, you don’t. Mostly it’s because you’ve spent decades ignoring your birthday, so it’s just another day on the calendar like any other. Also the makeshift celebration JJ planned last year when your work anniversary rolled around and she realized she never celebrated your first birthday with the team… well that was so over-the-top. Fun, sure, and very overwhelming and unnecessary. You don’t really want a repeat of that, and you don’t have anything you do want, so you keep your mouth shut. You don’t mention it, figuring it’s better for her to be mad at you for a bit than suffer through the discomfort of celebrating your birthday.
When the day rolls around, you wake up to JJ singing merrily. You groan and bury your head under the pillow. If even part of your brain thought you’d get away without a birthday celebration, you should have known better. “Happy birthday, baby,” JJ congratulates, ducking her head under your pillow too to give you a sweet kiss. “I know we have work, which is less than ideal from a celebration standpoint, but don’t worry. I’ve got a plan.”
“I’m worried because you have a plan,” you counter. “We don’t need to do this. If you insist on it, maybe just something lowkey that doesn’t make me crawl out of my skin please.”
“It’s your birthday. You deserve to be celebrated. I know you. It’s nothing crazy,” she swears.
“You do realize that even knowing my birthday and singing to me is more than I’ve done any other year, so that in and of itself is fine. We don’t need more than that. How did you even know anyway? I didn’t say anything.”
The pillow’s weight lightens as Emily removes your hiding place. “How many times have you been hospitalized, even briefly, in the last six months? I can recite your medical file verbatim.” You forgot about that factor. “Birth date is right up there, my love. Now we know, and you won’t be forgotten again.” Your forehead creases into an expressive frown. Emily kisses the furrowed spot. “Happy birthday.”
“Thanks,” you groan.
You briefly consider calling in sick to avoid whatever plans JJ might have concocted throughout the day. The idea of decomposing in the bed under a mountain of blankets and ignoring everything birthday related sounds more and more appealing. Emily grabs your ankle and drags you to the edge of the bed. “You’ll be okay. You can stomach us loving on you a bit.”
“Can I? Are you sure about that?” She lifts your pajama shirt off, tossing at the headboard to be dealt with later. “I do so well with surprises and things that are different from the norm,” you snark self deprecatingly. “And I just love to be the center of attention.”
“Trust us,” Emily implores. “If you need a break, give me a sign and I’ll get you to a quiet spot where you can take the time you need. You matter, my love, and it’s important that we get to show you that today of all days.” She helps you into clean underwear and jeans, though it’s mostly manipulating your uncooperative self because you hate the thought of this day more and more. “Up you go.” Your hands trapped in hers, Emily levers you up and nudges you toward the bathroom. You grab a black, long sleeve T shirt and deem it good enough. Deodorant. Face sunscreen. Eyeliner. Chapstick. Your morning routine takes all of six minutes. JJ stops you at your braid, taking the brush out of your hand. She takes the time to do a French braid, adding to the plait sections little by little as she moves down the back of your head.
You’re in the backseat with your work bag before you even realize you’re thirty minutes earlier than normal. The additional time makes sense when Emily parks outside of a little Parisian bakery that makes delicious croissants and lattes. When she pops in, JJ turns around in the passenger seat to look at you. “Let me celebrate you, baby, please. It’s important to me.” You clench your jaw and give her the smallest nod. You don’t really have a choice. When Jennifer Jareau sets her sights on something, nothing short of an apocalypse could stop her, and even then, you’d still bet on JJ.
When you walk through the bullpen’s double glass doors, you freeze, absolutely rooted to the spot. Your desk is a mess of color. “I did not do this,” JJ insists quickly. “I know you would hate something like this. I didn’t do this.” You hum some monosyllabic sound and force your feet forward. There are balloons and literal confetti that you already despise. There are cupcakes and little plastic characters everywhere.
The characters tell you all you need to know about who set this up, and it’s confirmed when Garcia squeals through the bullpen, shouting about your birthday with an exuberance that rivals a small child hopped up on cocaine-laced skittles. Your eyes widen at the volume. Your body instinctively braces for the inevitable hug. “Happy birthday, peaches! Oh you look stunning. A year older looks so good on you.” She bustles past you to your desk. “Okay, we have all of my favorite chachkies to keep you company throughout the day. Obviously balloons and cupcakes because it’s your birthday. I didn’t know your favorite flavor combination, so I got a bunch! I have candles and matches at my desk when you’re ready to make a wish! Oh! I love you so much,” she shrieks, pinching your cheeks dramatically.
You don’t know how to make this stop. You’re desperate to make it stop, for the earth to open up and swallow you whole. But it keeps going. You can’t tell Penelope how insane it all is because she’d be gutted that she made you uncomfortable. You manage a thank you and return the second hug she gives you. Emily squeezes your hand, a silent encouragement to keep it together.
When Garcia thankfully skedaddles back to her lair, you look at your desk in horror. It feels like everyone is looking at you, and your skin crawls with the weight of the presumed attention. You miss the silent conversation Emily and JJ share behind your back. You’re overwhelmed and uncomfortable in a very visible way in an environment that those adjectives are not… “Come with me, baby,” JJ whispers in your ear. “C’mon,” she soothes, her calm words interrupting your train of thought. “It’s okay.”
“It’s not,” you manage. You know Garcia meant well, and this is too much. It’s too much attention.
JJ takes matters into her own hands, dragging you up the short staircase to her old liaison office. The door thuds behind you, the deadbolt clicking into place. “Breathe, baby.” Clinging to her, you bury your face in her neck, letting her long blonde hair act as a curtain to hide you away from the attention on the other side of the door. Her own breathing follows the four count you know from decades in therapy. In two three four. Hold two three four. Out two three four. Hold two three four. JJ continues the pattern until your body mimics hers. “That’s my girl. I know that was a lot. Emily will take care of it, okay? I’ve got you. Emily’s got all of that,” she repeats. “It’s okay.”
“I don’t like my birthday,” you mumble. “I can’t… I can’t call attention to myself like that. I can’t stand out like that. I need to just… blend in. I need to survive.” You don’t have to see JJ’s face to know her blue eyes shine with unshed tears. You can feel her sadness for you.
“Stop making yourself small. You deserve to take up space,” JJ states, holding you tightly. “I understand why. I do, but, baby, you’re not that kid anymore. You have made a life for yourself out of all that hurt. You found people who love you, who want to celebrate you. You did that. Let us love you loudly, baby. There’s no scenario that you end up alone. Not anymore.”
“I don’t like my birthday,” you repeat, feeling pitiful in the face of her kind words that make you feel seen while also making you want to burrow away.
The knock on the office door startles you until Emily’s voice filters through. “Just me,” she announces. JJ reaches around you to flip the lock open. Emily locks it behind herself. “Just like old times, huh, Jen?” It’s meant to give you a second to settle again. “Everything’s shifted away from your desk. Just your coffee and pastry is there.”
“I don’t want to hurt her feelings. It’s sweet. It’s just a lot.”
“I know. I’ll explain it to her,” Emily promises. “You okay?”
“I’ll be fine.” Emily kisses the side of your head tenderly in response.
You’re relieved to see your desk mostly back to normal when you escape the reassuring confines of JJ’s arms (and her old office). There’s a large stack of case files for you to lose yourself in, and murdering serial killers distract you from the birthday nonsense from the morning.
Around noon, JJ appears at your desk. “C’mon.” You can’t help the grimace that stretches your lips. “Letting me love you loudly, remember? Trust that I know you.” You gather up your stuff and follow your partners out of the federal building.
The second you’re clear of the doors, Emily takes your hand, fingers interlacing together. They let you follow along in quiet companionship. They have a clear direction in mind, and you’ll go along with, trying to trust that JJ’s intention isn’t to make you uncomfortable.
JJ pops into a cafe, coming back out quickly with a stapled take out bag. She winks at you as Emily takes off walking again. It’s another few blocks before you’re in a small, grassy community park nestled between buildings. It’s adorable in its isolation. A pop of green serenity amongst the concrete. Emily leads you to a picnic table where JJ sets out different containers. “See? Nothing outrageous. Just lunch with your favorite people.”
“Who said you’re my favorite,” you retort playfully, the fresh air doing you worlds of good. JJ smacks you lightly. “I mean Emily’s definitely on my list of favorites.”
“You bitch,” JJ teases. “Eat your lunch.”
There’s something about being outside that helps you reset. The banter, the easy conversation, the company - it all feels almost celebratory. A happiness you never expected to feel on your birthday of all days. “You’re smiling,” JJ accuses, bumping your hip as you walk back to the office. You don’t bother denying it, laughing as she slings her arm over your shoulder and kisses the top of your head.
When you blindly reach for the next file in the stack around 4 PM after you’ve refilled your coffee and snacked on one of Penelope’s cupcakes, your to-do pile is empty, your fingers grazing the metal wire of the intake basket. You stare at it, unsure if you’ve ever actually caught up on all the cases and the paperwork. Your phone buzzes with a text from Emily, wishing you a happy birthday. You know there’s no way she took all of your remaining case files, so you’re betting she divvied them up amongst the team. It’s sweet and loving in a quiet way.
You’re even more surprised when JJ and Emily pack up at an appropriate time, nearly shoving you toward the elevator at 5:30 PM on the dot.
“This… umm… it was nice. Thank you,” you mumble self-consciously on the drive home.
“There’s a little bit more.”
“Okay,” you agree.
“Okay?”
“Trying to let you love me loudly. I trust you.”
At home, there’s a wrapped package in shiny purple paper on the coffee table. You trace its precise edges carefully. For a moment, tears burn in your eyes. You can’t remember the last time you got a real birthday present, so this feels monumental. “You can open it, you know,” Emily encourages, tugging your hips back onto the couch. JJ puts the box in your lap. “Hey, you okay, my love?” You nod, not trusting your voice. “You sure?”
“I’m okay. I wasn’t expecting anything.”
“It’s your birthday, baby. Of course, we’d give you a present.” You’re gentle peeling the tape, almost like a diffusing a bomb. You don’t want to rip the paper. “Hold on for a second. Talk to us. What’s going on?”
“I… just… I… uhh… I don’t remember getting a present on my birthday before,” you mumble, somehow hoping they heard you so you don’t have to repeat yourself and hoping they didn’t hear you at all. The hitch in JJ’s breath says she heard you loud and clear; she pulls you into a tight hug, professing her hatred for the world that made that a reality for you. “It’s okay. Really. It’s just new to me, so it feels intense. Good, but intense.”
To avoid driving the conversation further into volatile territory, Emily nudges you with her knee. “Go ahead, love. Open it.” The box shakes and rattles as you unfurl the tape pieces and gingerly peel apart the shimmery wrapping paper. Inside is a Lego set of the Milky Way from the art collection. Over three thousand colorful pieces to give depth and texture to the finished product, which can hang on the wall when it’s done.
“Will you build it with me?”
“Of course, baby. Do you like it?” You nod exuberantly, your fingers once again reverently tracing over the details on the box. “Good. Happy birthday, baby. We love you so very much.”
“Thank you… I… thank you for all of it.”

₊⊹⁀➴ How to get your shit together in a slump: BD’s instant guide to feeling 100% again! ⟡﹒⪩⪨ 🫧🌸🧁
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
⋆˚。⋆୨୧ Hi angels :) Thank you so much for the positive reception on my last posts. Anyway, I’ve been super down lately so I’d thought I’d create this post as a bit of a reference point for anyone who feels like their life is going off of the rails these days. This is how I get myself out of a slump. 💬
♫ todays song is…some by SOYOU
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ GET OFF THAT DAMN PHONE.. 📝 ⊹₊⟡⋆
wait! I was just joking. don’t close your phone until you finish reading (haha). anyway, take a look at your screentime for me. you might have been scrolling for hours or trying to distract yourself from how horrible you felt by doomscrolling endlessly…no. we can’t do that.
usually when I’m in a slump I feel damp, it’s not just about laziness. this could also be the result of exhaustion or a number of factors. dampness is an evil condition in chinese medicine where you feel heavy, tired, and dead. scrolling will only make this worse because you’re prolonging the pain. the first thing you should do is get up, stretch, breathe, and maybe crack a window. the airflow will make a big difference, I promise. 🌿
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ CLEAN UP GUIDE. 🌸 ⊹₊⟡⋆
when my room is a mess my state of mind is a mess. I can’t do anything, I’m literally loosing my marbles bc all I can see is a messy space. if your brain is in shambles rn, the smallest amount of organization you can do right now is tidy up your room a little bit.
this doesn’t even have to be a big clean, but small steps make a big impact!… remember your space is sacred. 🧘🏾‍♀️
make the bed. doesn’t have to be fancy, just make sure everything is where it needs to be.
wipe down surfaces like desks, mirrors, and vanities. you can even include a scented spray whilst doing this to make your space smell much cleaner and nicer!! I literally cannot function when my room smells like asscheeks.
remove any old cups, or food waste that you were procrastinating from doing so. don’t want to attract any bugs.
Sweep the floor. You probably don’t notice how many crumbs are on the ground, but please just do it.
Tumblr media
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ RECHARGE YOUR “STATS”. 🛁 ⊹₊⟡⋆
honestly the best way to get out of a slump is self care. neglecting your needs and body can often lead to things going downhill, depressive episodes, etc. We all forget to take care of ourselves properly sometimes, but it’s important to pay attention to our needs and personal wellness.
Ask yourself.
“Did I shower today?” ➜ Take yourself a nice, warm shower and stay in as long as you want.
Take some time to reflect on your day or anything that’s been on your mind. And be sure to wash up well, so you can feel really nice after and tap into your feminine energy. You can even add bath salts, milk, or bubble bath. It will literally make you feel like a princess. . . 👑
“Did I eat/drink today?” ➜ Go eat something.
I prefer light meals or snacks that are cold like fruit, water, or a juice when I’m feeling dead but you can also eat whatever you want. Just think about what will make you feel good and reduce the dampness as much as possible, and will prevent brain fog. Heavier meals aren’t the best for that though.
I bet you feel better already after doing these things! Remember that taking care of yourself is the most important and you are a priority.
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ REFLECTING AND MAKING A GAME PLAN 🧁 ⊹₊⟡⋆
Lastly after you feel a little bit better now and you took care of yourself, I would really suggest reflecting either through journaling or shadow work questions. They’re the easiest way to just brain dump all of the crap you’ve been thinking about lately and get it out of your system in a healthy and helpful way.
You can write about things like “how have I been feeling lately?” “What’s one way I can improve in xyz” and so on. This is a mundane activity you can do at the end to organize your thoughts. Mental health is a huge thing after your physical health, as it literally not only affects your world but the world around us. Especially if you are trying to achieve your dream life/dream self, manifest anything, etc. you will need to take care of your mental health to not be consumed by your emotions and keep your mind in check.
Also something that is crucial is practicing gratitude and mentally grounding yourself. You can list things your grateful for, mediate, or exercise. Anything to get yourself into that mindset you need going forward. I personally love to listen to the wizard liz’s podcast in times like these, it’s a great motivation for me.
Remember that slumps, dampness, depressive episodes, all of it, is normal. We are just humans at the end of the day. Be a little nicer to yourself today and take some small active steps towards your goals. ✨🫶🏽
