I started making this Tuesday and finished today
I’m not entirely sure what my intention originally was, I think I might have been attempting to draw various Ratchets. Or just g1 Ratchet, but then I realized I made him too small to just post him alone
I got myself some references for g1, I think his IDW self (they were on the same page), Cyberverse, Animated and Prime. So I might have been trying to draw all of them, but I’m not sure
But yeah, I drew g1 Ratchet, and then I decided to draw Cyberverse him, because he had a neat design
For my first attempt at the style, I don’t think it turned out horrible? Not the best though, and I especially need to work on the arm joints
Also none of them have hands because I was too lazy to give them any. So just ignore the lack of hands
Anyways, so after that (but also on Tuesday, I just finished the lineart and colors today) I think I was trying to combine features to get a Ratchet design I’d like to draw. It was mostly these two for inspiration, but there was also a bit of the IDW design I took as well. But also it’s mostly in the head, I didn’t care much about the rest of it
I don’t think I intended to use the CV eye lines, but I wanted something and just ended up doing that. Might change them later. I also gave him the big eyebrows because I thought it suited him. Grumpy old man
I gave him the antenna because I thought he’d have one. Like he needs to keep the radio on in case anyone needs his assistance (and he’s surrounded by idiots)
I gave him circles and the simple chevron because it’s just easier for me to draw and I’m lazy
I gave him the sirens from CV because I liked them. I also gave him the thing in the back because it looks like a backpack and I like that on him, I like to read it as a pack with his medical stuff, even if it probably isn’t
But on to colors, I do wish I could have more red, but admittedly there isn’t much else to put it in the little I drew. So fair enough
But also, I didn’t want to give him the red chevron. That’s like, the common chevron color, and I like how he didn’t follow that in his g1 design, being grey instead. But the grey isn’t in much else of his colors, and the red would be more consistent. And also, I like the white with red accents, it fits him as the medic. So I don’t really know how to get rid of the problem here. I guess the best solution is to change other chevrons?
I’m also debating changing his eye color from blue. I consider it with most of the Autobots (and I would the Decepticons, but I haven’t really drawn them), since they almost all have blue eyes, and I want variety. I think Ratchet can still have blue eyes, since it kind of fits, at least with the blue half of the sirens. If I were to get rid of that, maybe his eye color could change, but I’m not entirely sure what to. I know I tried yellow and red, but maybe I need to expand
But yeah, I don’t know. I finished this, wanted to share it. I really do need to get better at figuring out vehicle modes/the rest of the body. Probably need better references than the g1 cartoon

I don’t get why people feel like the Duolingo owl is threatening, if I ever feel like he is I just get mad at him. I could fight an owl. I don’t know if I’d win, but I don’t think I’d lose (two things that can apparently coexist). I think I’d survive at least and that’s not really winning but also not losing.
You wanna be so threatening? Da bør du drepe meg!
#emma posts#I used google translate for help because they haven’t taught me the phrase ‘kill me’ yet#taught me the word for beer øle but not the more important words like ‘kill’#as far as I can tell everything else in that sentence checks out so I figured the translation was good enough#not sure if it’s in the right order or if you use better that way in Norwegian. but good enough for a tumblr flop post#Emma’s adventures in using Duolingo#I should honestly use that as a tag for it#I post enough venting about that app#until I find out if I’m dyslexic for sure and there’s a way to help that with other languages. I’m not going to pay for Babbel yet#Babbel has Icelandic lessons too I think and that is my final boss tbh#I’ve been going from easiest for English speakers to hardest as my plan#and it turns out that I forgot how much some of my issues affect learning new languages#last time I learned another language it was Spanish and I’m not fluent but I’ve had classes and been around it for so long#that i kinda forgot what it’s like to start from scratch#I didn’t start trying to learn Norwegian until I was 26#or was it my 27th birthday? I could check my streak#I was like ‘psh. it will be harder with my disabilities. but I should be able to read. my top priority with this language’#and then I realized I had been somehow adapting to the other two languages since childhood and forgot how much I had to work around#I mean. I knew I was worse at language arts in school than I was in literature and writing. but still#I also already knew I was worse at making new sentences in other languages than I was figuring out ones that someone else made#but I thought that was just because I hadn’t used Spanish much for several years now#every time I try to re-learn Spanish it just ends up with me being able to figure out what someone said to me but not how to answer#if i brushed up on it again i could probably have a conversation with someone who understood English but better spoke Spanish#someone with the same problem as me but reversed language wise#please don’t take this as me saying I could currently have an entire conversation with someone speaking Spanish#I’m better than someone who never learned it and didn’t encounter it’s use a lot. but I really don’t think I could have a real conversation#not at the moment at least#I have been meaning to brush up on Spanish again too. there are at least real classes in my area for it and not just an app#the last time there were Norwegian classes around here my dad was in college and old people still spoke it#no one around here speaks it anymore

michelle's buddie fic recs: week 3!
happy sunday! hope you all enjoy these wonderful fics <3 if you're looking for more recs, here's another rec list i made this week!
this is a mix of fics with all ratings, so some include NSFW content. please take a look at both the ratings and the fic tags before reading! some might also contain spoilers for season 8.
if you come across something you like in this list, remember to show some love to the author by leaving kudos and a comment!
a guide to playing matchmaker for your boyfriend | sammyunhinged/@sammyunhinged | 52.9k | M
When Ravi incidentally finds out that Buck is questioning his sexuality, he offers him support, being the only person in Buck’s life that understands the particular intricacies of realizing you’re bisexual. In the process, Ravi learns that Buck just wants to date a guy, some relationship where he could discover himself and get comfortable in sexuality. Something short-term and casual. Ravi thinks he might be the perfect option. i've been on a ravi kick this past week (started before anirudh's video so like i'm not saying i manifested it but i'm also not not saying that lmao) and this fic was one of the highlights for sure!! wonderful writing and such great characterisation of ravi, but also such fun buddie <3
all my atoms | extasiswings/@extasiswings | 3.9k | T
There are three things every child learns about daemons: Don’t ask questions or talk about another person’s daemon—it’s rude. Don’t put too much distance between yourself and your daemon—it’ll hurt. Under no circumstances should you ever touch someone else’s daemon. Simple. Straightforward. Easy to remember, easier to follow. That’s what Eddie thinks of the rules. buck and eddie's daemons are so lovely and i love how this fic weaves daemons into a canon compliant setting!!
buck buckley hours on the diaz couch | sunlight/@justonebigbee | 5.8k | T
“Did you see me come over the back of the couch earlier?” Eddie asks. It’s such a non-sequitur that it makes Buck laugh a little. “Yes, I did. Very cool, man.” He’s only half-teasing. Eddie could make anything look cool. He just also happens to look silly most of the time too. Like now, for example. Lounging over top of Buck on his couch in this ridiculous get up. “I’ll go get us a snack, and—and, I’m probably going to do it again.” Eddie whispers the second part, like it's a big secret. i love this fic's combination of flirty buddie and non-sexual intimacy and the birthmarks and the couch!!
evan buckley and the art of crafts | beezethe/@evanpercy | 26.3k | T
Five times Buck gives Eddie a handmade gift out of love, and one time he actually means it. (or: the craft fic) crafty buck has my whole heart <3 this fic does such a good job capturing buck and his new projects and the firefam relationships!
he touched me, so i live to know | kejfeblintz/@kejfeblintz | 4.1k | T
5 times Buck and Eddie touched, and one time they really touched. so soft so cute so them <3 just a delight!!
life is just the way you hold me | allyasavedtheday/@littlespoonevan | 10.1k | T
Some people, when they go online shopping at night, buy things they don’t need. Like a Fitbit or a novelty t-shirt. Eddie… Eddie buys a professional cuddler. this was a reread, and a lovely one at that <3 soft and cozy and just wonderful. the fic equivalent of a warm hug!
next to your heartbeat, where i should be | rainbow_nerds/@rainbow-nerdss | 11.4k | E
Eddie’s not a complete idiot. He knows this isn’t normal. He stands in front of a mirror in his underwear, the tightest pair he owns, and he poses for a picture at an angle he’s learned flatters his ass and the curve of his thigh, to send to his best friend. ohh man something about buddie being Platonic Best Bros TM and engaging in decidedly non-Platonic Best Bro behaviour gets me every time. this is hot and fun and such a delightful read <3
rouge my neck | notathingtoseehere | 4.1k | M
Eddie is definitely not jealous at all, and has a completely normal reaction to strangers talking to Buck. they're idiots, they're in love, what more could a girl (me) want? nothing, the answer is nothing, because this fic is everything!!
take the bitter with the sweet | fruitsdoesnotknow/@fruitsdontknow | 5.2k | T
No one thought to brief Ravi on the Buckley-Diaz situation when he finally joins the 118. Spoiler: it goes about as well as a car crash. ravi struggling to figure out what on earth is going on with buddie is one of my favourite things in fics <3 this one also has brilliant firefam dynamics!!
the cost of doing business | pretentiousswanqueen/@hotcinnamonsunset | 5.4k | T
Ravi's landlord status makes him privy to some confidential information about the 118's finest. another one in a string of really lovely ravi fics <3 fluff and humour and such wonderful ravi narration!!
there's one thing (it's the weight of our wish) | atlasblue85/@atlasblue85 | 3.6k | GA
“I just don’t get it,” he says to Buck over the phone one day in mid-February, a couple months into the relo. “Last time they were because I was dating someone I shouldn’t have been dating. I’ve been single for nearly a year now, this shouldn’t be happening.” Buck hums across the line and Eddie rolls his eyes, tracking a flock of birds heading west. “Okay, you clearly have thoughts. Out with it.” “It’s just…” Buck starts. “Is that really why your panic attacks were happening? Because you were dating the wrong person?” the structure of this fic is so cool, and i love the buddie phone call at the start <3
TRUST! | pairofraggedclaws/@pairofraggedclaws | 7.8k | E
“I get used to it, I guess. Kind of. After a while,” Eddie says. Then, very quietly, “I’m just, uh, sensitive.” “Oh,” Buck says. Eddie's just sensitive. Eddie, his best friend, who he has now seen when he comes. Who comes in under a minute if he isn’t getting some on the regs. This is – this is – interesting. yeah buck interesting sure is a word you could use lmao. THIS FIC. this absolute gem of a fic <3 so hot and soft and just a delight!!
winner winner chicken dinner | lecornergirl/@clusterbuck | 1.9k | T
He’d rolled his eyes when Linda had sent him the recipe, the brightly coloured letters at the top of the page spelling out MARRY ME CHICKEN. She’d told him to make it for Buck some time and he’d sent back every unimpressed emoji he could find, but— It wasn’t supposed to work. He hadn’t made it because he’d thought it would do anything, only because the creamy chicken with sun-dried tomatoes actually sounded really good.  sweet and funny and fluffy! this fic makes me crave chicken. i did in fact bookmark the recipe <3
worth it | tabbytabbytabby/@tabbytabbytabby | 1.6k | T
When Buck gets a cold, Eddie takes care of him. buddie taking care of each other, my absolute beloved <3 based on the tags, this is right up my alley, and the tags were right! one of my favourites for sure!

Tangent about the jail scene here ⬇️⬇️⬇️
It’s been rattling in my brain whyyyy Barok faces away from Albert in this scene
It’s an obviously deliberate decision so it got me thinking. Now unless someone already did an amazing analysis about this, please ignore this so I don’t look stupid and send me it instead fjskakak
TL;DR exactly what the comic said
Highly doubt Barok was so upset at Albert as to not face him (at least not too much). He DID go visit him actually, which is something Albert didn’t even predict. (Take that as you will). Barok could still be upset with Albert but I don’t see him as the type to turn his back to him like this.
My initial thought could be that Barok didn’t want Albert to see how grumpy and gloomy he’s become but I figured since he knew they were gonna see each other soon anyways, there’d be no reason to avoid it (unless he wanted to avoid a barrage of questions/concerns from Albert)
It’s like,,,what possible reason could there be that doesn’t make you think “well they were about to see each other in court in, like, less then 24 hours so what was the point?”
That’s when my thought train decided to go away from “Barok personal self-loathing” reason to “Barok personal something else” reason
Why would Barok not want to look at someone he considers a friend, especially one in a tough situation? Maybe, I thought, bc it would be to painful for him
When they were in uni, they probably had high hopes for each other. To expect the other to do great things, be great people, be famous. Imagine 10 years later you find out your buddy is in JAIL??? That’s probably very heartbreaking. I wouldn’t blame him for not wanting to see someone he holds in high regards in a cell. But he’s still gonna be a good friend and visit him anyways <3
Okay another thought that JUST popped into my head!! Barok not wanting Albert’s image of him to change just yet.
Up until just recently, Albert had nothing but positive and nice things to say about Barok. He hadn’t talked to him in YEARS so his image of Barok is still of “the little darling”/varsity days.
Albert was probably the only person closely connected to Barok that still held that image. And Barok probably knew that. I think it’d be incredibly tragic if Barok wanted someone to still believe in him. To have someone who still saw him as nothing but good and hopeful. A bright man with a bright future. Albert seeing his face and seeing that brightness gone away would probably make him understand something’s gone horribly wrong.
Of course, them seeing each other is inevitable but Barok prolonging it is still a painful thought. The fact Barok prolonged their face to face meeting at all is really sad :(((
But bright side is that Albert never commented (initially) on his appearance. Just his mean behavior lol and I actually really really appreciate how their friendship was never really put into question. They never had a conversation where they were like “hey you’re scary now” or “hey I’m scary now” “we should probably stop being friends” they’re both fucked up <3 but it’s still fun to imagine that “what if”
Anyways all this to say that Barok cares so much about Albert that even his actions that look cold and heartless, actually come from a deep place of love and respect holy shit????
That or he’s just a tsundere

Enjoy 👍
Wild was bored. Which wasn’t exactly a rare occurrence, but it was one that he hated. It was night time now and he was supposed to be asleep, just like everybody else in the inn. But he wasn’t like everybody else, he already slept for 100 years straight, sleeping was only useful to him if and when he wanted to be more healthy. And sleeping every night was generally considered to be healthy, but Wild didn’t care, he needed to move.
Out the window he went, quiet as a mouse. Hopefully no one would notice he was gone, and that he would be back before morning came. But there was an entire forest nearby to explore, and he felt like he could-no, should explore to his heart’s content. The wilderness called to him, beckoned him in. That’s what he kept repeating to himself in his mind anyway, as a way to reassure himself, that as a hero who had saved Hyrule, sneaking out at night and potentially worrying the other heroes wouldn’t be a stupid thing to do. Zelda would’ve thought otherwise, and he knew that, but tried not to think about it too much.
The forest was mostly quiet, save for things like the chirping of birds and crickets. The faint rustling of trees was like music to his ears. There was a light breeze, which felt nice against his face as he ventured further into the forest. He tried his best to walk in as straight of a line as he could, to more easily find his way back. He really wished his Sheikah Slate worked properly in this time, maps made everything much easier. But then he would have to go searching for those towers, and while as fun as they were to activate, took up far too much time, much more than he and his group were currently willing to spare.
Wild was suddenly on edge. That odd shapeshifting, Lizalfos-looking, portal opening thing was still out there. Not to mention the black-blooded monsters that thing infected. Wild sighed as walked, now paranoid and frustrated. After a few moments of that, he finally gained enough brain cells to figure out that he should probably head back. With another sigh, which was more of a groan, he spun on his heel, turning around to make his way back to the inn.
Soon enough, something in the air…shifted, he couldn’t tell what. An oddly familiar yet unnatural feeling enveloped his senses as the sky started to turn into an odd shade of pinkish purple. The few clouds up in the sky, only a slightly lighter shade than the sky itself, swirled around above him, as the space in front of him split. Wild felt his heart drop and his breath leave his body as the rift continued to grow. Green glowing light bleed out from it, lighting up the trees and grass and him. Something was happening, something bad, and it was targeting him. He stumbled back, he had to, he had to get away and yet. And yet. It was calling to him. It was scaring him, the world behind the rift hated and loved him all the same.
Wild had to escape.
Wild tried to breathe, in and out, slowly, calmly, he looked for a way out. Trees, there were only trees and more trees and bushes and grass and even more trees-slowly, in and out, his breathing, his breath. He was alive, and he was going to make sure he would stay that way, bright green portal notwithstanding. The portal was growing bigger, quickly, but not as quick as Wild’s mind was when it was panicking. Maybe that meant that panicking was a good thing. Wild almost stopped panicking completely once he realized how stupid that thought sounded. His panic swiftly returned when a white boot stepped out of the portal. When matching white gloves also came out, Wild went to get out his sword and shield, fumbling with his slate as the person emerged from the rift, it closing behind them soon after.
“Excuse me?” The person asked, their words
echoing, despite the conditions for that to logically happen simply not existing here. Wild stiffened, having only gotten his sword out. But he knew deep within his soul that it wouldn’t be very effective against the higher being standing before him. Yet his grip tightened despite that. He wouldn’t run away, not now, he would try his best to fight this being off if he had to. And if that failed, he would retreat, tactically.
The being was dressed in an odd black and white outfit, having tan skin and white hair. Their bright green eyes, glowing body, and their crown that was literally on fire were very clear signs that this person wasn’t anything he’s seen before. Not to mention the hovering. And the portal they just came out of. And the weird voice-and Wild needed to start focusing on the situation at hand.
The being raised their hands up defensively, “Hey, put down the sword, I’m not looking for a fight,” they said, “I’m just. Looking for someone, yeah.”
“Uh huh,” Wild dumbly nodded, keeping his eyes on them.
“Right, okay, let me just-“ they looked around, suspicious at their surroundings, “-okay, don’t tell anyone you saw me, or that you saw this. Actually, it doesn’t matter, forget what I just said.”
Wild nodded again, watching as a ring of light came out of their waist, enveloping them as they donned a more hylian appearance. They had even odder clothes on in this form, baggy and worn. Their skin was paler and their hair was pitch black. They looked like death in the form of a teenage boy.
“Are you Death?” Wild asked blatantly. Listen, he was curious, he need to know this. The being raised an eyebrow at him, confusion evident on his face. “Like,” Wild scrambled to rationalize his less than rational thought process, “I don’t know, you seem scary? And corpse-like? Are you dead? Am I dead-well, no, I can’t be dead, that would be silly, ha. But are you?”
“Well I am the Ghost King, king of ghosts,” they said plainly, with a shrug, “Name’s Danny, Danny Phantom, and that’s really all you know about that. Listen-“
“Aren’t you like, twelve?” Wild knew they probably weren’t twelve, but this ‘Ghost King’ guy looked pretty young.
“What? No! I’m not twelve, I’m like-“ they pouted, like a twelve year old, snapping their fingers in thought, “older than you!”
“Oh yeah, I’m-“ Wild stopped, wondering if it would be smart to tell the Ghost King that he’s technically one hundred and seventeen years old. “I am at least seventeen! And I look like it as well.”
“You’re the same height as me.”
Wild looked at the ghost, glared at them, walking a bit closer to them. He placed his hand on top of his head and moved it forward, towards the Ghost King’s head. His hand brushed against their hair, but it clearly didn’t reach the top of their head. Wild grinned, well, wildly at the sight of being taller than them. They looked unimpressed.
“You’re the one acting like a twelve year old you know,” Danny scoffed, pouting.
“Says the pouter.”
“Look, can you just help me find this guy, since you’ve clearly calmed down now.”
“And why should I?”
“I’ll make your afterlife terrible otherwise.”
“Fine, I’ll help, gosh,” Wild was probably going to help anyways, he liked helping people. He just wanted to be annoying. “So, who and why?”
“Great! So, I’m looking for this guy named Link,” oh no, “Clockwork-he’s a time ghost, don’t worry about him-told me that he was hoping around other times with other guys also named Link.”
“I don’t believe you.”
“Well-okay, you’re annoying so I’m just going to ignore that-“
“Time isn’t real.”
The two stared at each other, and Wild both wanted to punch himself in the face, and thought he was the funniest man alive. Danny seemed to think the same way too, with their bewildered expression suddenly turned into one holding back a lot of laughter.
“Al-alright, that was good I’ll give you that,” they chuckled, “Anyways, I’m looking for this specific Link because they’re supposed to dead, and I’m supposed to like-do something about that. I think I have a picture of this guy that Clockwork gave me, hold on.” They stuffed their hand through their goddess forsaken chest, and rummaged around like their own body was a mere storage container. Wild was instantly jealous of them. Sure he had his Sheikah Slate, but it wasn’t a part of his body.
Wait, Danny had a picture of him. Oh no, they were going to kill him. He didn’t need them to say word for word that they were going to kill him, but Wild didn’t know what else they could do to him. He needed to be on his toes and hone his quick reflexes in order to survive this ordeal.
“Annnd-nope, that’s my thermos-here it is!” They pulled out a piece of folded paper, and just as they started to unfold it, Wild snatched it from their hand and shoved it into his mouth.
“Wha-WHY DID YOU DO THAT?!” Danny shrieked, hands on the side of his head, horrified.
“‘Cause,” Wild responded in a muffled voice, chewing the paper. Tasted inky.
“Okay, you are definitely the weirdest person I’ve ever met, an I know a ghost who whole personality is boxes, just boxes. Actually, I don’t think he’s that weird compared to some other fruitloops I know of-but that doesn’t matter, spit that out!”
“No.”
“You are acting like a twelve year old-no, even twelve year olds wouldn’t do this, you’re five.”
Wild gasped, photo smushed to the side of his mouth, in between his cheek and teeth so it wouldn’t fall out.
“You’re just mad I’m right.”
“Nah uh!”
“Then how about you spit that out, like a normal, seventeen-you’re seventeen right?” Wild nodded, “Right, like a normal seventeen year old would, or I’ll phase it out of your mouth by force.” Wild did not like sound of that. So he spit out the photo, the slobbery mess falling onto the grass. Even Wild was grossed out by what he had done. Danny clearly was.
“You’re going to have to unfold that yourself, I’m not touching that,” Danny looked sick.
“Yeah, that’s fair, I’ll do that,” why wasn’t the paper metal, then he could use his Sheikah Slate to pick it up. Good thing he had some spare gloves stored in it, so it was fine, it’s fine. He started to unfold the paper, Danny peering over his shoulder, both with matching disgusted expressions. Wild was right about the contents of the drawing. His face, blast scars and all, was right there. Wild looked at Danny. Danny looked at him. Wild wanted to punch them in face and run off, but they are a ghost. But Wild still slowly raised his free hand into a fist, retaining eye contact.
Danny began to speak, “So-“ Wild swiftly punched them in their face, and skittered backwards, trying to look for a way back to the inn safely. The ghost had stumbled back, clutching their face in pain.
“Huh, so you can punch ghosts,” Wild noted.
“You can definitely punch this ghost,” Danny rubbed their hurt nose, “Didn’t even get me a chance to speak.”
“Please don’t kill me.”
“I’m not going to kill you, that’s not what I’m here for.”
“Oh.”
“Bet you feel stupid now, don’t ya?”
“A little bit, yeah.”
Danny sighs, pinching their nose, not in pain this time, but annoyance. “So,” they started again, “what I’m trying to do is get you on the ‘Supposed to be Dead but Came Back Anyways’ census. Basically, the name’s a work in progress.”
“And…I’m supposed to do something about it?”
“Kinda? Look, just sign here, and I’ll get out of your hair.” They pulled out another piece of paper out of their chest, with already had a few other names on it in neat little boxes. Wild couldn’t read any of those names, but Danny probably could.
Wild’s face scrunched up, trying to think about what he should do next. They hadn’t really explained their reasoning for any of this, so he still didn’t trust them too much. Maybe this was some elaborate ruse to kill him.
“Will me signing this ‘census’ give me any benefits-will it give you any benefits?” Wild pointed accusingly at Danny.
“Well, are you dead?”
Wild groaned, “I’m not DEAD Daniel,” Wild threw his hands into the air in frustration, “Just use your stupid ghost words to explain to me what I need to do and why.”
“Okay,” Danny squeaked out, “But first off, name’s just Danny.”
“Uh huh.”
“And secondly, I’m doing this because there’s a bunch of ghost legal jargon where your name was already listed on both the ‘dead,’ and then also the ‘not dead’ list after you came back to life. You signing this will help fix that.”
“…Aren’t I time traveling right now?”
“Yes, but it’s still good to note down who had came back to life. Please just make my life easier, this is themost stress inducing part of my job I’ve ever done.”
Wild was starting to feel a bit bad now. So now, with a better understanding of the situation, he took the paper from Danny’s hands.
“Here’s a pen to write with,” Danny gave him a pen from their chest.
“Can all ghosts store stuff in their bodies?” Wild asked as he wrote down his name in the next free box, adding on his title of ‘Hero of the Wild’ in the same box, just to specify things.
“No, but I sure can,” they said with a big smile.
“That’s so cool.”
“I know.”
The two laughed a bit as Wild returned the paper and pen to Danny.
“Well, sorry for not explaining my motivations fully, I’m a bit…tired, ha ha,” Danny rubbed the back of their neck, clearly embarrassed.
“Yeah. Sorry for punching you.”
“Now I’m going to go take a nap. Or sleep for once.” A ring of light enveloped Danny yet again, returning him to his more ghostly form. Then he turned around and held out his hand, before cutting the space there, opening the bright green portal.
“See you in the Ghost Zone, Link! Eventually!” They waved as they stepped into the rift.
Wild waved back, “That sounds pretty ominous, but okay!” Danny laughed at that as he went all the way through, the portal closing soon after. Now Wild was left all alone in the woods.
He needed to get back to the inn.
It took him some time, but he eventually found his way back to the inn. In through the window, as quiet as a ghost, he was back in his room. He flopped down onto his bed, mentally exhausted. He would’ve rather been bored than have had dealt with…whatever that was. Not really, but Wild was certainly ready to go to sleep now, and pray that he wouldn’t have to meet that Ghost King ever again. Not because he was scared, but because he was a bit embarrassed about what happened. He acted a bit stupid there. But none of that mattered now. All that Wild had to do now, was to sleep.
“Has anyone seen the champion yet?” Time asked, looking over the group that were all hanging around the inn’s dining room.
“Nope,” Warriors said with a pop, “He’s likely still asleep.”
“But I’m hungry,” Wind whined, “Captain, do you know how to cook?”
“I know how to make things edible and nutritious,” Wars plainly answered, receiving a few groans from various Links.
“We could just have the food they serve here,” Twilight suggested.
“Champ’s better,” Four retorted.
“How about we all wait a bit longer,” Time said, “It hasn’t even been half an hour since we woke up after all.”
They all muttered their agreements, and choose to occupy themselves with taking count of their resources for the time being. A few more minutes passed before Legend noticed something.
“Hey guys, I think I see the champ coming down right now,” Legend pointed at the staircase, and the other heroes scrambled to see their resident chef stumbling down the stairs.
“Are you doing alright?” Hyrule asked.
“You seem exhausted,” Sky added.
“Ye-yeah,” Wild yawned, stretching his arms, “Ghost problems and all that stuff.” He set out to make some food for his companions, who were looking at him with confusion and concern.
“Ghost problems?” A few of them asked at once.
“Is this place haunted?” Wind looked around with an excited grin on his face.
“Nope, but I sure got haunted in the woods out there,” Wild waved in the vague direction of where the forest was, “Now I’m going to make something to eat, want some?”
Of course they wanted some, food was important. They continued to ask questions about the ghost, but Wild didn’t answer, he didn’t feel like it. Maybe in like, two days he would. But for now, he just wanted to eat some Vegetable Risotto, maybe with a few Endura Carrots thrown in as well. Hopefully, he wouldn’t have to deal with that Ghost King again anytime soon. At least, hopefully not before this time traveling adventure ends.

Obviously there’s no rules on tumblr but as a general courtesy to the guys, consider keeping in mind:
Don’t share patreon links (which is probably a patreon rule anyway) and keep clips of patreon things under 2 minutes. Screenshots and discussions are fine!! (As some people have been wondering) Personally, I use the “#sfth patreon” tag so anyone who wants to filter it out can
Don’t share old sfth content around, such as videos and photos of them from years ago from accounts that aren’t theirs. They’ve stated they don’t want this done.
[again, tumblr doesn’t have rules- I’m just making some things known that respect the guy’s wishes]

2:58am — j.ww
tags/warnings — waiter!wonwoo x reader. no warnings!
a/n — i love pancake parlour. that’s it that’s the fic.
Tumblr media
The diner is quiet, save for the soft hum of the company Spotify playlist filling the air and the occasional sound of banter drifting from the kitchen, where the cooks are talking about anything but the food. The bright lights above cast a muted glow over the half-empty tables, the remnants of late-night customers already cleared away.
You’re finishing up wiping down already-clean tables, the cloth warm and damp in your hands, the rhythmic motion soothing after hours of not much happening. The clock on the wall ticks lazily toward 3 a.m., and it’s just you and Wonwoo left.
“God, it’s dead tonight,” you mutter, pushing the last of the crumbs off a booth with a sigh. You glance over at Wonwoo, who’s leaning against the counter, scrolling through his phone like he doesn’t have a care in the world.
He looks up at you, his lips curling into a smile. “At least we have a place to ourselves.” He’s always so calm, always managing to make even the dullest hours feel comfortable.
“True,” you reply, leaning on the counter next to him. “I’m almost too comfortable. I feel like we should start a podcast or something. ‘Pancake Philosophy.’ I mean, we have all the time in the world for deep, philosophical conversations, right?”
He chuckles softly, shaking his head. “I’m not sure you’re ready for my thoughts. Some of them are too deep for you.” His voice is playful, but you catch the hint of affection behind the teasing.
“Too deep, huh?” you tease back, grinning. “I bet you’re the type of guy to have a secret stash of journals filled with all your musings.”
Wonwoo rolls his eyes, but his smile lingers, as it always does when you’re around. “If I had a secret stash, I’d probably burn it. Who needs to remember all that nonsense?”
“I think you secretly want to be a philosopher. Bet you’ve thought about it,” you poke, leaning in a little, eyes narrowing playfully.
“Maybe.” He looks at you, his expression softening a little. “Maybe I just want to be good at something.”
“Pretty sure you’re already good at everything, Wonwoo,” you reply, giving him a half-hearted eye roll. “I can barely get my one job done, and you’re over here making pancakes look like art and being wise at the same time.”
He laughs at that, shaking his head. “You’re being dramatic. But you do have a point. I’m good at pancakes.”
“You’re the best at pancakes,” you affirm, nudging him with your shoulder. It’s playful, easy—like it’s always been between you two. There’s a smoothness to your friendship, a shared understanding without needing to say much. You’ve both been here countless times before, these quiet hours at the end of the night, and it’s always felt like home.
From the back, you hear Jeonghan’s voice echoing out to the front of the diner. “You two still here? I’m done with you. Go home already.”
You glance up at the clock—it’s almost 3 a.m., and he’s right. You’ve been finished with your shift for a while now, but there’s something nice about hanging around with Wonwoo, the air light and comfortable.
“Well, guess we’re done,” you say, gathering your stuff and heading toward your usual booth. “I’m not gonna complain about leaving early, but I swear, one of these days, I’m going to be too good at this job.”
Wonwoo falls in step beside you, nursing a stack of pancakes the cooks had kindly prepared for your knockoff. “I’m sure you’ll make it to employee of the month eventually. Don’t worry.”
“You’re really gonna stick with that ‘employee of the month’ thing?” you ask, raising an eyebrow. “At this rate, I’m more likely to get ‘most likely to break something before the end of my shift.’”
“Actually, I’m pretty sure you’ve already won that award. Multiple times.”
“Rude.” You give him a playful shove as you both walk to the far booth in the corner of the diner, slipping into your usual seats. “I’m not that bad.”
Wonwoo chuckles, reaching immediately for a fork. “Let’s be real—if anyone’s gonna break something, it’s you.” He smirks, poking idly at the edge of a pancake.
You roll your eyes again, grabbing the syrup and drizzling it over the pancakes that still sit between you two. “I’m not that clumsy, alright? I can handle a few spatulas and a knife without causing a catastrophe.”
“Sure, sure,” he says, his smile widening. “If you say so.”
You settle into a comfortable silence after that, just the sound of your forks scraping against plates filling the air. It’s a simple, ordinary moment, but it’s perfect in its own way. You’re used to this—eating pancakes at 3 a.m., laughing over the stupidest things, making fun of each other like friends do. But tonight, something’s different.
After a while, Wonwoo finally speaks again, his voice a little softer, more serious. “Hey, uh… I was thinking.”
You glance up at him. “That’s dangerous. You thinking always leads to something weird.”
He laughs, but there’s something nervous in it. “Maybe. But, uh… you wanna go out sometime? Like, outside of work?” His words stumble over each other, but you catch the sincerity in them, the way his gaze lingers just a little longer than usual.
You freeze, your fork halfway to your mouth, and blink. Wonwoo’s never been the type to make bold moves—he’s always been the quiet one, the one who observes more than speaks. The idea of him asking you out feels like something out of a dream.
“Like a date?” you ask, a little breathless.
“Yeah,” he confirms, voice quiet but earnest. “I mean… I’ve been thinking about it for a while. Just didn’t know how to ask. I didn’t want to make things weird.”
You stare at him for a moment, heart pounding in your chest, and a slow smile spreads across your face. “I’d like that,” you say softly. “I think I’d really like that.”
Wonwoo visibly relaxes, his smile returning, this time warmer. The tension that was there just a moment ago melts away, and the air between you two feels lighter. He looks down at his half-empty plate, suddenly unsure again. “I’ll… figure out when and where. I’ll make it good, I promise.”
After a few minutes, you finish the last bite of your pancakes, and you both slide out of the booth. The night air hits you both as you walk toward your car, the cool breeze stirring the stillness around you. There’s a slight unease in the air, but it’s not bad—just new.
There’s a pause—an almost awkward silence, but it’s filled with the weight of unspoken feelings, the kind that have been lingering in the air for far too long. Wonwoo shifts on his feet, then looks at you, his voice low and careful. “Can I… can I kiss you?”
The question, so polite and sincere, takes you by surprise. It’s almost as if he’s asking for permission to release something that’s been building between you two. You nod, a little breathless, and his hand comes to rest gently at your side.
He leans in slowly, cautiously, like he’s afraid he might break the fragile tension between you. When his lips finally meet yours, it’s soft at first—tentative, almost awkward, as if both of you are learning how to fit together in this new way. But then, with a shift of his weight, a soft sigh against your lips, it changes.
The kiss deepens, the rhythm coming naturally now as you both move in sync. It’s a release, an exhale of everything unsaid, and you lose yourself in the warmth of it. His lips are gentle yet insistent, his hand tentatively brushing the side of your face, and you can feel the quiet urgency that’s been hidden beneath the surface.
Just when you’re beginning to lose track of time, a voice breaks through the moment.
Jeonghan’s leaning against the door, holding a trash bag. “Well, look at that,” he says with a sly grin, his tone dripping with sarcasm. “I’ve been counting down the days until Wonwoo grew a pair.”
You laugh, pulling away from Wonwoo with a grin, and Jeonghan’s teasing only makes the moment feel more real.
“I’ll text you,” you say to Wonwoo, quickly pulling out your phone and setting a time and place. The promise of a real date, outside of work, feels like something new and exciting.
As you drive away, the taste of hot fudge and maple syrup lingers on your lips, mixing with the sweet anticipation of what’s to come.

TW this is a rant about proship and comship! Tags will have more in-depth trigger warnings
Edit: OMG PROSHIPPERS STOP MAKING THIS POST ABOUT DEFENDING IF SHIPPING CHILD X ADULT OR INCEST IS OKAY OR NOT THE POST IS ABOUT THE LABLE I DONT WANT TO ARGUE WITH YALL ABOUT THAT ANYMORE.
This is my one post where all people on all sides of the proship debate can interact. Including proshippers. If that makes you uncomfortable then don’t interact. I hate echo chambers and I want to hear all sides.
Also sorry for cross tagging just want the opinions from all sides
Actual post:
I hate the terms proship, neutral ship, and antiship. They’re all extremes and I hate them. From what I understand the meanings are
Proship: support all ships no matter what even if they’re comships
Neutral ship: doesn’t have an opinion at all
Antiship: is anti any comship which is outrageous
If y’all don’t know comship just means complex ship or they enjoy more morally grey or imperfect ships. This can include things like human X different intelligent species (like aliens, furries, monsters) which most rational people don’t think is bad. But this can also mean kid X adult, family x family, or victim X abuser
I actually don’t identify as pro, neu, or anti because I think some comships are good and healthy. I think morally grey ships are important in media when done correctly. Especially since a lot of relationships are rocky and not always healthy and it’s good to show that in media. My own ocs personally aren’t in a perfectly healthy relationship because of their own issues. But this should be done respectfully and with care. Abuse shouldn’t be romanticized but people can be romantic outside of the abuse going on just like in real life relationships
But in a pedophilic fan fiction or art or an incest fanfic or art there is no such thing as a loving part of it. The relationship in itself is abuse because a minor being with a child is abuse and family members being together is abuse. It’s not healthy for anyone involved to romanticize relationships like that and frankly can effect reality no matter how you spin it because it’s representing something as normal to kids.
Right now a lot of neutrals, antis, and probably a lot of pro shippers are agreeing but that’s where my point really starts
The term “proship” and “anti ship” are too vague. If you say you’re proship you sound like you defend media where children are harmed. I understand the meaning is being proshipping and minding your business but that’s still what you look like and frankly that’s what the term does. If you’re pro everything then that means you’re pro the harmful stuff too
And the term “antiship” suggest that you’re anti shipping in general or anti any complex ship which is also unhealthy for us all because morally grey topics need brought up. Antis also are very very commonly okay with harassment when it comes to proshippers
And neutral ship is basically just saying you don’t have a opinion at all which is harmful because you’re suggesting you’re okay with the harm done on both sides. And I understand some people who are neutral ship agree with me and don’t just not care but I feel like majority is the former not the latter (based on what I’ve seen)
Also disclaimer if you’re neutral because of mental health or because you have better things to deal with that’s valid but identifying as neutral ship does put you in it and i instead suggest staying out of it entirely
So idk maybe we should make a term for the middle. I had a few ideas maybe something like middleship or intentship (intentship meaning enjoying or allowing all ships as long as the intentions are good and are not to romanticize trauma or abuse)
Idk everyone can share their opinions but if I see another proshipper say fiction doesn’t effect reality I’m gonna scream and if I see another anti shipper call all morally grey ships bad as if they done killed their grandma I’ll go insane

Welcome to my fuckass self-shipping blog. I am KRUEGER and you may use HE/THEY pronouns for me. Main blog is @esotericdivinity. My art account is @tenacious-brute. I would love to make more self-shipping friends, especially if our f/os share a base media!! Uhh, yes I will talk about my favorite men here- And only here. Comprehensive list of all of the ?? fuckers I have, and my DNI list below.
The Favorites, my fictional husbandssssss
I won't even lie: I don't really share my mains. I will indicate if I do or do not! And if I don't, I will not observe anyone else who selfships with them, I will ignore it. I also would possibly block if I am harassed?- But I can't foresee this happening. I am so so happy to see people who share f/os from the same media!!! Please come talk to me.
I'm gonna sort these by who I'm most fixated on followed by who I don't share, to who I do.
Choso Kamo, non-sharing (Jujutsu Kaisen) - HELLO??? UGH DOWN BAD- I'm so down bad I'm kicking my feet I'm punching mattresses it's an issue now. Sighs he's my new boyfriend AND my current fixation. Yeah. If anyone wants to talk about him with me, has any headcanons or anything, I'll love ya forever 💪🔥 (you will now find anything relating to him under the tag #krue's canon boyfriend)
Tumblr media
Aoi Todo, non-sharing (Jujutsu Kaisen) - OH NO ANOTHER- ANOTHER FIXATION. He's my second boyfriend alongside Choso. I need him. I'm gonna get aggressive about it I need everyone to know how much I love him SOB SOB SOB (I'm working on getting him a tag alongside Choso... sighs. My men 💞💞) if anyone ever sends me asks about him I'll giggle btw
Tumblr media
Granolah, non-sharing (Dragon Ball Super) - I've had him for like. 2.5 years. Maybe more actually... anyway, he's adored. I would punch walls over him lowkey. I could yap about him tons at some point... But I won't unless prompted!! HES MY HUSSBAN 💞💞
Tumblr media
Clavicus Vile, non-sharing (The Elder Scrolls) - I LOVE HIM YAYAYAYAYAYA He's so. Grr. I cannot defend him or my love for him but?? Whatever! He's him 💞 i have had him for over 2 years, despite consuming his media for over 10. It's kind of crazy dydhdhd. Oh well!!
Tumblr media
Silvers Rayleigh, non-sharing (One Piece) - Actually a perfect husband idk. Uhh Rayleigh when he runs with Roger is the one I’m fixated on and absolutely adoing of. Anyway he’s gorgeous and I think we should hold hands and watch documentaries… I've had him... for not long. But this doesn't make him any less important!
Tumblr media
Troy Calypso, sharing?? (Borderlands 3) - He is NUTS and terrible and horrible and I NEED HIM- I cannot defend this fixation. I have an AU written for him, and that is where he is my f/o!! I adore him thoroughly.
Tumblr media
Caesar Zeppeli and Joseph Joestar, sharing (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) - They belong together. Who am I to separate them? Polycule go???- Oh well! I might talk more about Caesar bc I feel like he needs more love, but I adore them together and want us all to hold hands. Ugh. They're everything.
Caesar came first, back in 2020, but Joseph slowly won me over through 2021-2022. And here we are. I adore them both so, and I think that I should be able to love them so so much 💞 pretend Joseph doesn't have canon events that are important to some things... I need him with Caesar and I- In my mind, they're in a vacuum and that's it. Susie Q loves us all and her and I go to the spa together btw ☝️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Esidisi, sharing (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure)!! - He was debated since the last time I fixated on JJBA (2022 summer or so??), but only recently did I really take him in. I'm always down to yap about him, but he probably isn't as prominent in my brain as others.
Tumblr media
Corazon, sharing (One Piece) - I haven't mentioned him tons but he belongs on here too tbh. Sending him so many kisses!!!
Tumblr media
Will update as needed? I guess- thanks for reading!! Please please feel free to ask questions- (Last updated: February 3rd, 2025)
DNI: those who share the aforementioned characters that I do not, proshippers (specifically those who condone or romanticize pedophilia, incest, beastiality, rape, etc etc), anti-lgbtq+ people, racists, sexists, literally anyone who's just kind of harass-y?? Yeah please don't interact. I really appreciate it because that shits just not cool.
I write and draw commissions, and will take donations!!
Ca$happ is $sharpset
and ko-fi is here!

Heyy, I really wanted to say how obsessed I'd been with your DCA Slasher Au! I LOVE the designs, the little things you tell us about them and all of that. It's really really cool. I also like A LOT your art style🫂
Also I wanted to share from here some doodles I'd been doing because I'm really embarrassed to share them in my blog but whateverr. As I say.. loved the designs and obviously I had to draw them with my baby (He has seen the horrors)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also I'm not really sure if you already answered this (feel free to ignore it if so) but..
- Are you planning to make it a fic? Like in Ao3 or some sort of. Or maybe comics or short chapters?
- Are you telling us/showing us more of The Glamrocks in the story?
- What is the relation between Vanessa and Star/y/n?? Friends, It is casual? I really really like Vanessa and if you are ok with it could you tell us what does she thinks of Sun and Moon?
Anyways thank youu you are so cool yay people cheered🫂🫂👏💚
omg you like my style?? No I like your style dude. It’s feels so down to earth? Genuine? You got some great gesture happening in your lines. And you make me laugh 😝
I am planning on doing a fic! But I don’t have the full plot figured out 🤔. I have this fear that if I start writing and publishing chapters without knowing all the details, later on I’ll find out there’s a big plot hole. And then I sweep the rug out from people by going back and needing to change what I’ve already written.
I know though that my own perfectionism often holds me back so I should probably just slap myself on the ass and get to writing at least the first two chapters. I have a very clear idea of how they’ll go.
Yes it would be going on AO3 (as soon as i figure out the tagging culture over there). I will ofc be continuing to do short comics and illustrations alongside any writing.
I’m actually in the middle of doing some design exploration with the Glamrocks rn! Hopefully I’ll be able to share some sketches with you guys by the end of the weekend~~ They are side characters but I want them to be more than just fluff or cameos, ya kno what I mean?
Ahh~~ and Vanessa, nobody’s asked about her yet :3c. I do in fact see her and y/n Star as becoming aquatinted, perhaps to the surprise of both of them!
Vanessa is a cop! Disappearances around town have put a lot of pressure on her small department and she’s had to pay the arcade a visit more than once to take routine statements on a couple of the missing people.
Her presence around the arcade puts Smoon on edge for obvious reasons, though she has no idea why. For now she chalks it up to the general anxiety people get around police and… they’re just… strange men.

|12 Days of Drabbles| |Day 3: Last Stop|
Tumblr media
{ArtStudent!Hongjoong X Male!Reader}
{Plot; Hongjoong is on a bus to an art exhibit when a certain someone falls asleep on his shoulder.}
{Word count; 670}
{Tags; Non-idol au, male reader, Fluf, Awkward situations (they cute tho)}
Hongjoong threw away his plastic coffee cup in the trash, and with his book bag’s strap on his shoulder, he went aboard the bus; it would only be a good 20 minutes to the nearest art exhibit. “Hey, is it fine if I sit here?” Another guy, Hongjoong guessed was around his age, asked with a polite smile; he looked almost as tired as Hongjoong was; he probably hadn’t had any coffee like Hongjoong had earlier. “Yeah.” Hongjoong replied, and the other man slumped down in the seat beside Hongjoong and rested his head back; his fluttering eyelids told Hongjoong he was trying not to doze off.
The next few minutes proved to be a bit of a snooze fest for the stranger next to Hongjoong; he was asleep faster than a kid on Christmas Eve, and he took it as his cue to really look at the man. His features and form intrigued Hongjoong, and his questions grew as he looked at him with a studious gleam in his eyes. Why was this guy so sleepy? Was he a student at some university or school like Hongjoong was?. His pencil pressed onto the paper of his notebook in the shape of the man before he realized it; artists drew strangers all the time; Hongjoong drew countless art models in his classes as well; besides, it wasn’t like Hongjoong was going to use this sleeping stranger’s face in a major project; it was only practice. As Hongjoong’s pencils drew out to his heart's content, he felt a sudden weight on his shoulders; he didn’t need to turn to see the stranger's head was now resting against him. He took a moment to take in the awkwardness of the moment; there was no doubt anyone else on the nearby seats didn’t notice.
Hongjoong found himself in an odd crossroads his lonely heart didn’t think he’d have to face; the bus was only five minutes from the art museum by now, and he also didn’t know how long this stranger was planning on taking a nap for, but the prospect of having to physically move the man’s head from his shoulder made him anxious. Waking up to find a stranger cradling your face wasn’t a situation anybody would want to find themselves in; Hongjoong considered if it was more or less awkward than the man waking up to find his head on a stranger’s shoulder and making him uncomfortable. But he didn’t even want to wake him up; he had to admit this guy resting on him had quite the looks. Did that only make things feel more awkward to Hongjoong? Yes.
As the bus halted to a stop, Hongjoong’s anxiety nearly skyrocketed; he had to get off or else he’d miss his stop, but he couldn’t let this man next to him remain a stranger. Luckily the bus driver honked, which startled the stranger awake, his eyes rapidly blinking away his unrest. “OH, sorry about that. I assume this is your stop?” “Yeah, it is.”  Hongjoong got up and almost left until his gut made him face the stranger again. “Do you want to come with me?- I mean, I was just going to grab some more coffee and, um—
“Sure, I was just going to the art exhibit here as well. We should go together. The stranger Got up, and they headed out the bus and onto the pavement; Hongjoong’s heart felt like it was soaring. “My name’s Y/N, by the way.”  He smiled again at Hongjoong; this Y/N really was a heartthrob if he could make Hongjoong flustered at the mere thought of them having a shared passion for art. “I’m Hongjoong.”  He responded before he made things awkward; Y/N and Hongjoong shook hands. “I know a great place nearby; I always go before heading to the exhibit.”
As Hongjoong followed close beside Y/N to his favorite coffee shop, he couldn’t help but think about how lucky he was to run into someone like him on his last stop.

The Deathly Devout
Pairing: Executioner!König x Nun!Reader (Medieval au)
Word Count: 1.2k
Warnings: Religious themes and settings, talk of death, religious guilt, nothing much this is pretty tame. I have very little knowledge of how catholic confessionals actually go especially in a medieval setting forgive me. probably many spelling errors im sorry.
Author’s Note: was talking to @thesadvampire about @hffhifjou fucking amazing art of the 141 as knights and now we have Executioner!König. This is mostly just a word burst from this morning but I really like this concept and wanted to share with you all
Tagging some mutuals I think might enjoy this: @sprout-fics @humanransome-note @moondirti @fnny-bnny @yeehaw-djarin @captainsamwlsn
_______________--
It was quite amusing to see the executioner in the confessional booth.
That isn’t to say that he doesn’t visit often, no. If anything it’s the exact opposite, Father Montomgery sees him more than any pious banker or self-hating gambler in the city. But the man was monstrous, broad in his shoulders with thick arms and legs to match, resulting in him having to twist and fold his body to properly fit into the little wooden booth. He could see the silhouette of the poor man’s shoulders hunched in and head tucked low.
It almost made up for how absolutely aggravating he was to listen to.
“Forgive me father for I have sinned.”
“May God, who has enlightened every heart, help you know your sins and trust in his mercy.”
     König swallows.
“I killed a man this week.”
The priest, knowing this voice better than others and the hulking silhouette it belongs to, sighs.
“The thief, then?” He asks, voice dripping with indifference. “The little painter who was caught stealing?”
     “Yes father.”
The “little thief” has been a blossoming apprentice under a most respected artist within the city, only for the truth to come out that he had been stealing funds from his mentor for months on end.  The king had suggested König simply cut off the painter’s hands and let him live out the rest of his days in poverty. “What better punishment for an artist than a life where he cannot create?”
But the end ruling was for the artist to lose his head in the town-square and König’s hands delivered the blade to his neck.
“That was simply an act of your work, my child.”
     “But-”
There is a deep sigh from the opposite side of the booth and König falls silent, like a scolded child.
The irony isn't lost on the priest, that a man who must associate himself with the macabre so often is incredibly devout in his worship. But the humor was drowned out by how astonishingly self-loathing the poor bastard was.
“My child, do you believe our king is the one true king?”
     “Of course father.”
“And do you believe our God is the one, true, God?”
There’s a garbled noise that comes from the larger man, an incredulous sputtering at how the priest would ever assume he would say otherwise.
     It makes the man chuckle.
     “Of course father!”
“Then acting out the King’s law is acting out God’s law, is it not?”
There’s a pause, the priest can see the man shrink down into his seat even further, if that was even possible with how he contorted the bulk of his body to squeeze into the wooden booth.
“I’m not saying you cannot feel-” He waves his hand in the air, despite the fact that König cannot truly see him. “-conflicted, about your career. It’s not one that comes easily, I’m sure. But it is not one that makes you a monster, despite how many people would try to have you believe that.”
     “Yes father.”
The man’s voice is a shred of what it should be- all but a trembling whisper that makes even the exhausted priest frown.
“Being an executioner isn’t an easy job. But it’s one that is needed nonetheless.”
König says something softly to himself, but the priest cannot be bothered to ask what.
     “For your sins I-”
“Actually, father-” the wooden step creaked under his weight as he shifted on his knees. “There’s something else.”
     “Oh?”
“I’ve been having impure thoughts about a woman.”
     “Oh.”
The priest blinks. He had never heard the man speak of any sin aside from the violence he acted out on the King’s word. Truth be told he had begun to think the lad was so devout such a concept was all but foreign to him.
     But this?
     “I’m listening, my child.”
This was far more interesting than listening to him bemoan about a town square beheading.
“She is-” König chews on the inside of his cheek, chipped teeth digging into the formed scars he has had since childhood from the nervous habit. “Promised to somebody else.”
The priest hides a snicker behind a well placed cough.
     “Married?”
“In a manner of speaking, yes.”
“I haven’t…acted upon them.” The man who has killed week after week fiddles with his hands, face turning bright red as simply speaking of his attraction toward the woman. The priest couldn't help but wonder who she was. Whether it be a kind tavern girl who ignored his gaze each day he walked by or a local prostitute that urged on his affection as long as he could afford her time.
It’s no secret that few women would concern themselves with the local executioner, if not even look him in the eyes.
“She’s a good woman of proper virtue, I would not sully her name in such a way.”
     This poor bastard.
     “Is she beautiful?”
     “I’m sorry?”
“The woman you speak of, do you find her attractive?”
König swallows. “Yes, incredibly. Her smile rivals that of the sun and-”
“That’s more than enough.” The priest grins into his hand as the airy tone the executioner’s voice took on, like a poet reciting his latest venture. The man was properly lovesick, how charming. “I do not believe you have committed any sin in appreciating a woman’s beauty.”
     “I haven’t?”
“Admiring a woman’s beauty is like admiring a piece of art, is it not?” The priest offers. “You are simply taking in the art that God has created with his own hands, my child.”
Before König has a chance to respond, through the lattice he sees a flash of white through the corner of his eye. A soft voice humming a tune fills the air, echoing through the church hall like a well-respected hymn. In a panic, König begins to stand his full height before he is halted in his tracks as the top of his head slams into the confessional roof.
     “My son?”
“Ah, apologies father! But I have to leave because of-”
The priest nods. “Yes, yes of course. You are absolved of your sins, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good.”
The final word is drowned out by the slam of the confessional door opening the man’s thundering footsteps receding from the booth.
The executioner stands to his full height as he exits the church. He shields his eyes as he steps outside, suddenly overwhelmed by the burst of sunlight.
In his haste, he did not see the figure at his side.
     “Good morning to you, König.”
The man jumps, twisting around to face you where you stand at the bottom church steps, broom in hand and a smile on your face.
“Ah! Yes! Good morning to you as well, sister.”
“A lovely day, is it not?”
Heat creeps up the back of his neck and he struggles to find the words he wished to speak to you. But you, ever patient and kind, wait without judgment.
     “Yes, quite lovely.”
As König stares down at you, his heart beating as he watches the sun shine on your figure and your smile, he finds himself thinking of the Holy Father’s words.
“You are simply taking in the art that God has created with his own hands”
     What beautiful art indeed.

Winter Magic (Part 2) → (Please read Part 1 first here )
“Wait… You think I’m a spy?” Kurt’s eyes widened.
Blaine raised an eyebrow, and Kurt noticed the tension in Blaine’s body at the question.
“Aren’t you?” He asked harshly.
“Of course not! I just told you I work at Vogue.” Kurt replied. “And if you happen to find a coffee shop with that name, please let me know, because I’m pretty sure that name is trademarked.” Kurt snapped. “God, I just…”
“You just…?” Blaine interrupted impatiently, leaning forward in his chair.
Kurt sighed. “I made a bet with my roommate,” he spat out. “We made a bet on whether I could reproduce our favorite winter coffee at home,” Kurt explained. “Her birthday is the deadline. Which is tomorrow, by the way," he added sadly.
Blaine sat back in his chair and tried to process what he had just heard. He studied Kurt’s disappointed expression, wondering if he should believe him.
“You could have just taken a cup of Winter Magic home and put it in a mug, you know.”
“That’s cheating!” Kurt said indignantly. “And I know I can do it.” he added confidently, taking a sip of his coffee. His eyebrows immediately furrowed.
“Are you sure?” The barista asked and Kurt put down his coffee, pursing his lips.
Blaine shook his head, turned his attention back to his coffee, scraping the seam of the paper cup as he thought about it. He took another sip and sighed.
“What did you bet?” He asked, still staring at his coffee.
Kurt looked up at Blaine hopefully. “If I lose, I’ll have to do all the dishes in the evenings.”
“Forever?”
“As long as we’re roommates, yes.”
“Ugh,” Blaine groans sympathetically. “And what if you win?”
“Rachel can’t start warming up her vocal cords before 6am. And I need my beauty sleep, Blaine!” Kurt looked at him meaningfully.
For a moment, a warm feeling filled Blaine’s chest. It happened every time he thought Kurt remembered his name before he realized he was wearing a name tag. Finally, he looked at Kurt again, and seeing the miserable look on Kurt’s face, he couldn’t help but laugh. Okay, he’s probably not a spy, Blaine decided. Thank God…
“You use too much cinnamon.”
“I like cinnamon.”
Blaine smiled. “Noted. I’ll definitely think about it next time.” He took another sip. “Otherwise, it’s quite good,” he added.
“I know," Kurt replied, as if nothing could be more obvious. “But it’s not the same as yours.”
“No, it’s not. But… I think you’re missing just one ingredient.”
Kurt looked at Blaine excitedly. He leaned forward over his table, his eyebrows raised in question. Blaine leaned forward too, close enough that their faces almost touched.
“I guess if I told you, that would be cheating too,” he whispered.
“Shit!” Kurt growled. He leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms. “You’re right,” he grumbled.
“I’m sorry,” the barista smiled. “But don’t be hard on yourself, this recipe has many elements.”
“I don’t understand,” Kurt shook his head. “I’ve used soy milk, I added star anise, ginger, nutmeg, hazelnut syrup, cloves, cinnamon, cocoa nibs, turmeric and saffron, a touch of chili, pumpkin syrup…”
“I’m impressed, by the way.”
“What am I missing?” Kurt asked, sounding desperate. “Some exotic spice that I couldn’t find even if I looked for it?”
Blaine laughed, but stopped when he realized it was making Kurt look even more miserable. He took another sip of his coffee and leaned a little closer. “How did you get the proportions so right?”
“Well, I could lie and say it was easy, but since you know I’ve been suffering with this for weeks now…” he covered his face with his hands in embarrassment.
“Kurt, I’ll be honest. I know seasoning isn’t atomic physics, but I’ve been working on these specialties for months to get the perfect balance of ingredients and make them all special, something the customer can’t get anywhere else. You copied our best-selling coffee specialty in two weeks.”
“Well, I did not, did I? I missed something.” Kurt grumbled.
Blaine smiled and twirled the cup absentmindedly in his hand. “I want to know how you did it.”
Kurt shrugged. “I’m pretty good with spices.”
“I can see that.”
“I like to cook and bake, that’s all. I’ve experimented a lot since I was a kid, it’s just fun. There’s not much difference between trying to find a new character for a cookie and this,” Kurt pointed to his coffee and the spices. “It drives me crazy.”
Blaine watched as Kurt tensely organized the small jars in front of him. He was really impressed that Kurt had gotten this far in figuring out his recipe. Blaine was already convinced that the guy in front of him wasn't a spy. He believed him, and he knew that Kurt would soon figure out the last ingredient.
Blaine sighed and leaned back in his chair. “Tell me what spices you use in your favorite cookies.”
Kurt opened his mouth to reflexively say no, since he never shared his recipes with anyone, except Carole. But he froze when he realized that it probably wouldn’t be fair to say no at this point.
Blaine noticed Kurt's hesitation and raised an eyebrow. “Is that a secret, Kurt?” He asked, amused. He leaned closer to Kurt across the table, a playful smile appearing on his face. “I think you owe me that much, Kurt.”
Kurt shook his head, but smiled back at the barista. He opened his mouth to speak, but Blaine cut him off by raising his hand.
“Wait,” he said, and grabbed Santana’s arm as she was about to walk past them. He whispered something in her ear, she nodded and walked on. “I’m listening now,” Blaine turned back to Kurt.
“My favorite recipe is actually quite simple,” Kurt began, playing with the paper cup in front of him, his eyes on the coffee. Cinnamon dominates, of course. No surprise,” he glanced up at Blaine for a second, who smiled at him and nodded encouragingly. “I use cardamom, ginger, vanilla, a little cumin, it gives it character, and…” Kurt’s eyes widened as he finally put the last piece of the puzzle in place. “I can’t believe it,” he looked up at Blaine, who was grinning at him.
“You’re welcome,” Blaine said, then drank the rest of his coffee, picked up the empty cups and stood up.
“How could I have missed it?!” Kurt shook his head in disbelief.
“It was too easy, I guess. And it doesn’t dominate at all. I’m not a fan of it, but if you use just a very small amount it can balance out the other spices.” Blaine explained. “I have to go back now.”
“Of course.” Kurt nodded and thanked him.
The moment Blaine left the table, another tray landed in front of Kurt with a freshly brewed, steaming cup of espresso, hot water and a vanilla bar next to them.
"Boss ordered this for you. It’s on the house," the waitress said before disappearing among the tables.
-
A few minutes later, Blaine spotted Kurt at the counter, and he couldn’t help but smile at him.
“Did it work?” he asked as he walked up to Kurt.
“I don’t know yet.”
Blaine looked at Kurt then down at the coffee cup questioningly.
“You tell me,” Kurt said, placing the cup in front of Blaine. “I made this one for you.”
“Thank you.” Blaine smiled in surprise. Slowly, he raised the cup to his lips, and keeping eye contact with Kurt, took a sip of the coffee. He’s nervous, Blaine observed. Cute.
“So?”
Another sip, just to be sure.
“Wow. It’s perfect, Kurt. It really is.”
“Really?” Kurt jumped with excitement, making Blaine laugh. “Thanks for helping me.”
“I didn’t do anything, you figured it out on your own,” Blaine shrugged. “And you know, if you were looking for a job…” Blaine started, and he realized he was only half joking. But Kurt laughed.
“No, I’m not. But with this offer you’ve convinced me, I guess the coffee turned out really good,” he said.
They said goodbye before Kurt headed for the door.
As Kurt walked out of the coffee shop, Blaine leaned against the counter and drank the rest of his coffee. He stared at the empty cup in his hand, lost in thought and smiled. He wondered when he would see Kurt again. He hoped he would come back. Even if Blaine just helped him make his favorite coffee at home, so he had no reason to...
Oh, shit.
The thought knocked him out of his good mood. I should have asked for his number. He was wondering how many men named Kurt could work at Vogue, and if trying to find out what would be considered stalking, when Santana appeared next to him.
“I’m an idiot,” he groaned.
“Yes, you are, Boss,” she said, patting him on the shoulder. “But at least he’s not,” she added as she reached over and swirled the cup in Blaine’s hand, revealing the handwriting on the other side.

✨Weekly Tag Wednesday ✨
Thanks for creating the game and for the tag @jrooc thanks for the tag @vintagelacerosette
Today we’re talking fandom. Come play!
Name and A03 handle: Michelle, michellemisfit
Current Location: Living room, surrounded by feathers, as I’m currently fletching some arrows
Favourite picrew: This one is pretty fucking spot on. Or at least it was at the time. Hair is very different now. But then, hair is always different… lol
Tumblr media
Also this one is spiritually VERY me
Tumblr media
What's one thing you want in a picrew? Ability to add coloured streaks! And a wide selection of scars, or alternatively the ability to move them around the screen. Either is fine. But mostly the hair thing. My hair is generally 4 different colours. Don’t try and limit me to one!!
Favourite thing you’ve created (or seen created) for the fandom? Erm… 3 way tie between Mexico Gallacrafts, Fimo Gallavich, and Cookie Gallavich? Maybe? Argh. Turns out, looking back at my art tag… I’ve created some pretty cool stuff. Huh. Yay me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why is it your favourite? I don’t really do photography, and I’m really proud of the idea behind and the execution of that photo. And while I LOVE drawing more than anything, I don’t think I’m exceptional or anything. But I’m damn creative when it comes to silly 3D craft projects, so both Fimo Gallavich and Cookie Gallavich make me happy and feel like something not just anyone could do… I dunno.
Did it come easily or was it hard to create? It was LONG to create. Both cookie and Fimo Gallavich took several days in total. And I think that’s the other thing I like about myself. I am willing to put in the work, and it usually pays off.
Last ao3 fic you commented on? Hah! You’ll be able to corroborate this, I’m not just sucking up!! LOL I’m currently reading Camp is a Battlefield by @blue-disco-lights, @jrooc, and @mybrainismelted, with artwork by @creepkinginc, so that’s the last one I commented on :)
Biggest WIP heartache you’ve ever experienced? I mean… every single WIP I have ever started reading, only to realise that maybe there won’t be any more of it… 😱 Every. Single. One. They’re all special, and they all hurt in their own special ways. And I will remain subscribed to all of them FOREVER, because you never know!!
Also? Comment on WIPs. Tell authors how much joy the story brought you, how much space it’s occupying in your brain, how much you would love to see it continue but how happy you are to have read as much of the story as there is because it’s changed your brain chemistry… do NOT comment saying ‘next chapter when?’, cause that makes you a dick bag.
Favourite trope or head cannon you like included in a fanfic? I’m a sucker for fake dating, only one bed, and a soulmate AU 🤷🏽‍♂️
Least favourite? …not a huge fan of kid fic, but hey, all it takes is a great author to make it work.
Secret or surprising kink or trope? Again, do not kink shame, because you’re only ever one good fanfic away from discovering something about yourself you did NOT see coming…
Describe how you feel after you’ve created something new? Exhausted and antsy. Is it good enough? Are people gonna like it? Should I even bother anyone with this? Why don’t I just go and hide under a rock forever?? I felt okay about this when I finished it, why is it suddenly the worst thing to have ever been created??? …I wish there was a sense of calm and accomplishment. There is not. Brains suck!
Top hype man you have that always helps you get across the finish line: @deedala - I so appreciate how we’re on a similar wave length when it comes to art as well as ‘everybody wants to hunt me for sport’ vibes. I know I can always count on you for kind but honest words, and that’s so important!!
It's been a bad day, you turn to the fandom and you _____? Read comfort fic. Probably Like Real People Do or None the Wiser.
Edit: Also? Go and read comments and tags on old art posts. That’s a sure fire way to cheer me up!
This was fun, and made the 15 minute wait between fletching each feather pass much faster. Thanks!!
Tumblr media
If you are currently making your own arrows and need something to occupy your wait time with… how about completing a tag game? lol

Thoughts on giving critiques to comics artists.
Seeing lots of discussion from students about sour experiences with an unhelpful art teacher, so here's a long, long post about giving critiques.
NB: I have no formal training as a teacher, but I was a student, and I've spent decades giving artists feedback on their work.
When someone brings me a portfolio, I like to establish my limitations & clarify my perspective. My work is firmly rooted in traditional US comics storytelling (i.e., not manga or art-comics.) I can give feedback on other approaches but they should know where I’m coming from.
“We've only got a little time for this, so I'm going to spend that time focusing on things to correct. That doesn't mean you're doing everything wrong, or that there’s nothing good here, but it’ll be more helpful if I identify some problems and show you how to fix them.”
Why? Because for many young artists their entire sense of self worth is wrapped up in being good at what they do. (It was for me!) In school they were probably the best artist in their peer group. But now if they're hoping to turn pro, they’re at the bottom.
Sometimes you know what’s up when you see page 1, but try to keep an open mind. Some build their portfolios by sticking new pages at the back & don’t weed out the old stuff up front, so the work gets better as you go. When it’s like that I ask: “Show me your best 8 pages.”
I ask questions: "What's the goal? Do you want to be hired to work on someone else's project, or to get the story you're showing me here published?"
If 1, I steer towards a portfolio that'll showcase hirable skills. If 2, I look for what tweaks will make that particular story more effective.
"Do you have teachers giving you regular feedback? What are they telling you?" Sometimes a student is getting bad advice. In cases like that, I'll do my best to be extra clear WHY I'm giving them advice that's 180 degrees from what they've been hearing.
“What artists are you looking at? Is there someone you admire or try to emulate?” This often helps me understand choices they're making, and I can sometimes incorporate things those artists do into my suggestions.
I ask myself questions about what I’m seeing. First: Is there a narrative? If not, I make it 100% clear I'm not speaking as any sort of expert. I'm good at critiquing storytelling, but don't have anywhere near as much to offer illustrators or designers.
Can I follow the story? Or am I confused about what's going on? Are the characters and settings drawn consistently? If not, is the artist at least making use of tags (distinctive clothing, hair etc.) to keep the characters recognizable?
Does the artist demonstrate a good command of basic academic drawing? If not, Do I think they need it? Do I focus on "how to draw" or on "what to do when you can't draw?" Is the artist putting the viewer’s eye where it needs to be to tell the story effectively?
(At this point I’m usually doing little doodles to go with my instructions. I scribble out ugly little 5 second diagrams that I hope will clarify what I’m talking about. Or they might make me seem demented. Hard to say!)
Is the artist making choices that are creating more work than necessary? Is there a particular weakness? I once spoke to an artist with a portfolio full of great work when he was drawing animals and monsters, but his humans were amateurish in comparison. I spent that critique talking about drawing people.
A crit can be a grab bag. In addition to big-picture advice, I'll point out tangencies, violations of the 180-degree rule, wonky anatomy, weird perspective, places where the artist neglected to do important research, odd choices in how they spotted black, whatever catches my eye.
I also try to make a point of defining the terms, so that jargon like “tangency,” “180-degree rule,” and “spotting black” don't go over their heads. Find simple, concrete ways to talk about these things, & clarify why it's a problem when they aren't done correctly. Draw diagrams!
Recognize that even a perfectly phrased explanation might not sink in. Some lessons can only be learned when a student is ready, and it might take a year or two of work before they can understand what you were saying. It's good to plant seeds.
Are there other artists who are particularly good at solving the problems the student is trying to solve? I steer them towards that artist's work. And I always recommend life drawing & the use of reference to give work specificity, variety, and authority.
Despite what I said earlier about focusing on what's wrong, I try at the end to find something encouraging to say. And if I’ve really piled on the criticism, I emphasize that I only spent the time and energy to do so because I take their efforts seriously.
If I've done my job right, they'll leave my table with tools to make their work better. And maybe in a few years they'll be looking at some younger artist's work, surprised to discover just how much you can learn when you're asked to teach.
