I’ve decided I only like Ascended Astarion when he’s fucking miserable and furiously trying to convince himself that everything is great now!!

Yeah, he’s powerful and never has to be afraid ever again! But his friends can’t stand the sight of him anymore, not after the choices he’s made and what he’s become. The people he loves want nothing to do with him. Best case scenario (debatably), his lover is still so lost in ‘I can fix him’ sauce that they let him make them a spawn, and once the power high wears off, he’s going to realize that he trapped this person in a love they can never leave. Is it still love, if they don’t really have a choice? He could make them a true vampire too, but would he? That would make him vulnerable again. That would mean they would be free to leave if they want to. Could he take that risk now? No. He made this choice to be powerful enough that no one could ever hurt him again. He’s not giving that up.

Was this really what he wanted? Alone, even if he’s surrounded by spawn and others fawning over him for a taste of his power and wealth? He had a taste of real love and friendship once, just for a little while. Now he’ll never have it again. But he’s going to fight tooth and nail to convince himself he’s got everything anyone could ever want.

Hey, question for those in the Demon Slayer community.

Do you guys suffer from too many story ideas? Because I am suffering from too many story ideas. And I’m not just talking about stories with OC’s. No, they’re not a problem, I got like only four for certainty. I’m talking about stories focused on canon characters.

And, uh… I have a lot of story ideas for said canon characters… and I keep on getting more and more ideas for them every day.

Gods, I don’t even know where to start, I just have too many!

Please, share me your wisdom on how you handle this, because it’s getting to a point where I can’t even begin to write them and all I’m left with is laying in bed, day dreaming about them instead of actually writing them.

thinking about. how merlin brings out the best in arthur and on the other hand arthur brings out the darkest parts of merlin. how arthur always tries to be better and do the right thing because merlin believes in him and he wouldn't want to disappoint him. because he believes merlin is good and he wants to be good for him. how merlin always ends up making the worst decision in his desire to protect arthur, doing things he never thought he'd do. how from saving arthur's life because that's a right thing to do, he goes to putting his life above any of his own morals.

While we're on the topic of De-aging AU's I wanna talk about Jason and Damian if Jason was 14 again real quick.

Do you guys think that Damian looks at this version of Jason, so different from the version he knows, nothing like the person he was told Jason was, and feels uncomfortably seen?

Damian was always told that Jason died because he was reckless, because he disobeyed orders, he was fired as Robin and he got himself killed. A cautionary tale, not a threat to his position. He dismisses Jason because Bruce does, because Dick does, because sometimes even Babs and Alfred do.

That's not the kid that he's looking at now. This Jason is happy, and smart, and full of love that has not yet soured into grief. He hangs on Bruce's every word, trains until his hands bleed and his body gives out to perfect the moves Bruce teaches him. He looks at Bruce with stars in his eyes and he calls him dad.

And Damian can't help but think, that this is the perfect Robin. The perfect son. And if Jason - sweet, loving, strong, Jason - can be fired, can die and have his room locked away and his pictures torn down, can have his last memory as Robin be as A Good Soldier, how could the rest of them ever compete? What could Damian do to stand a chance?

Jason will never grow out of the shadow of Robin, like the rest of them did. As long as Bruce, and Dick, and Babs, and Alfred look at him and see a dead kid who came back wrong, he will never get to be anything else. He will not get to be looked at through who he is now without the shadow of a dead boy looming over him.

And the worst part? Jason is exactly the same person he was back then. Bitter, sure, angry, justifiably, but he is still the boy with too much love in his heart and righteous fury festering in his gut. He is exactly the same boy who threw himself in front of an explosion to save his mother.

(The lines between the mother that betrayed him and the father that disgraced him are so very blurred. Fire or blade or crowbars or fists it does not matter. It ends the same way it always does because Jason Todd always dies, in every universe, in every timeline, Jason dies and crawls out only to be killed again and again and again.)

love how Solar Opposites started out as a sitcom about two aliens who can't stand each other, stuck with their teenage clones (whom they also can't stand) & a toddler antichrist (whom they view as a sort of self-sufficient free-roaming hamster?) on a stupid planet they can't stand

and 4 seasons later it's a sitcom about a family of genderqueer aliens, headed by a gay couple in a happy & horny open marriage (with a graphic off-screen sex life, despite their canonical lack of genitalia?) teaching themselves to be okay parents to their 3 kids (whose Sci-Fi Antics now slightly-less-frequently revolve around wreaking havoc on human bystanders, and slightly-more-frequently revolve around alien-clone-sibling-bonding*), to the point that the central plot point becomes "We need to provide our toddler antichrist with a stable home environment."

(also the grumpy alien husband is too busy ingratiating his family with their suburban neighbors to even remember whom or what he dislikes. what is this show)
