They are going to speak to Alice (or at least her spirit) in the last episodes!
And here’s how I know it. Obviously, we’ve seen the clips of her in the trailers, so she is going to be seen again somehow. But I’m convinced they are going to speak to her using a summoning circle. And the best part is- the show has been telling us this in every single episode…. IN THE CREDITS!
Very quickly- almost blink if you’ll miss it, this comes up before Ali Ahn’s name:
Tumblr media
It says “Can You Talk To The Dead?”
And Ali Ahn’s name appears over a classic summoning circle:
Tumblr media
Every other image behind the actor’s credits relates to their character in a very direct way. Jennifer’s credit has crystals, Sharon’s has flowers, etc.
This summoning circle has never been seen in the show before, and has not been associated with Alice in any way.
But look what is in the trailers and promo materials for the last few episodes…
Tumblr media
There has also been shots of a hand drawing a circle with chalk on the ground, and candles being lit up:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which is all crazy, because the show has been telling us all along. They are going to talk to Alice again using a summoning circle!!

Did anyone else notice that seemingly one of the first things they did after bringing Thistle into the kingdom was cut his hair short?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And given what Marcille says about how important hair is to magic…. That’s probably not a coincidence.

Reminder of what No.6 is mainly about, guys.
I love Nezumi and Shion more than anything. Trust me.
But their relationship was always secondary to the novels being a political statement.
This is an actual interview with Atsuko Asano, about her inspiration for city of No.6. She quite literally said one of her inspirations for it was the political environment in the USA, following 9/11.

For her to choose to continue this series right now, after so many years, is probably not a coincidence.
Their struggles are eerily similar to what many real people face in our world all the time.
I have a feeling there will be some pretty important themes in this new series.
I hope those who read it can appreciate every element of it - not only our beloved characters, but the reason they have a story to begin with.

sometimes i’m just chilling and then i remember that Will decided to create a whole-ass painting just for mike. Just like that, out of the blue. Like… he didn’t have to do that. He just wanted to make something special for mike, even though they hadn’t even talked to each other all that much throughout the year. And yet…Will just wanted to create something that he knew mike would (hopefully) love, since he knows mike is the person who loves his art the most and he wanted his best friend to be reminded of the fact that he is so important and special and thought of and appreciated.
I’m think i’m gonna vomit what the fuq-

I think spy’s big finish being called “inner demons” is really funny. What do you mean “inner”. Everyone is aware of your demons. You actively make you demons everyone else’s problem. Your demons have killed billions. Those are outer demons

I’ve been thinking about it for a while and I think what saddens me the most is that shadow doesn’t really seem to like adventuring. Sonic and shadow are similar in that they both go fast and go on a lot of the same adventures, and even though adventures just like, happen to sonic he kinda starts them, or at least seems to enjoy them after all “what you see is what you get, just a guy who loves adventure”. He didn’t choose to have chaos unleashed, turn into a werewolf or have eggman make a war, and I’m sure there’s moments (like metal virus and frontiers) where he’d rather that all not have happened, but overall he seems to have fun doing all of this stuff, it’s his hobby, even in the twitter takeovers most of the time when a question about what they is asked he basically just says running and adventuring.
Meanwhile shadow just kinda has that stuff happen to him, his memories are altered and someone wants him to destroy the world, he has amnesia (also metal sonic is mad and making it everyone’s problem), he has amnesia (also someone’s trying to make him destroy the world again), and whatever was going on in 06. He never seemed to relish in the adventure like sonic did, he only really seemed to fight when he had too. (Okay in some games he seemed like he wanted to kill sonic??? (og generations) or just fight sonic for little reason (not to mention what happened to infinite) but it feels like they’re kinda fixing that and it’s pretty out of character for him). For sonic danger is a challenge, it’s fun. For shadow it’s just something happening to him, yeah he might get a little smug about it, but “if the world chooses to become my enemy I will fight like I always have” shadow wouldn’t be fighting if he didn’t have someone trying to make him destroy the world every two seconds-
It would also make sense shadow doesn’t seem to enjoy danger like sonic does, he knows what its likes being attacked and it going wrong (Maria’s death). And to contrast sonic in the twitter takeovers whenever he’s asked about hobbies he says he wants to start a cat orphanage, or that he reads books and plays chess, volunteers at soup kitchens, taking care of his bike, also won’t shut up about flowers. All pretty low stakes things! (He even mentions multiple times in the newest twitter takeovers that he doesn’t fight for fun, only when needed. Now that could just be him not wanting to admit he’s having fun with sonic, because there is a lot of moments we’re he fights with sonic for no reason other then fun, but there’s still probably some truth in there. Who knows maybe we just think that because we always see it from Sonic’s side, and since sonic likes it we assume shadow does too ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) And talking to Maria in sh generations it makes so much sense! She seems frightened at the concept of shadow attacking black doom, she’s not scared to talk back to him when he’s being rude to shadow, but she seems surprised that it’s happening, surprised that shadow is so “bold and confident” when shadow fights. Yeah she told him to protect everyone on earth but I don’t think she had shadow stopping earth ending situations in mind. They play chess and go to school, when Maria talks of going back to earth she mentions having food and meeting her family. That was their plan. She didn’t think shadow would have to stop gods and war, she thought he was going to met friends and eat good food! And just help out in small ways when he can.
Going back to Maria’s death we know shadow was powerful at that time, not as much as he is now, but he was frozen for those 50 years (no time to train) which means he was just as strong then as he was in sonic adventure 2 (makes sense he’s the ultimate lifeform). If shadow was back there he would’ve fought the G.U.N agents, but taking in the Maria dialog (“bold and confident”) and how their life was on the ark he wasn’t used to fighting. If nothing happened to shadow he probably wouldn’t be fighting.
TLDR: where’s my sonic game that’s about shadow owning a cat orphanage and reading books sega?

would we like to talk about how hosea also contributed to arthur’s entrapment in and eventual demise due to the van der linde gang because he was constantly affirming to arthur that he was “dim-witted and “a fool”, and we can assume he’s been doing as such since arthur was very young, and therein causing arthur to internalize the narrative that he is nothing but a dumb brute who could never make it as anything other than a “born and bred” killer or is that too controversial

More on Fallout tv thoughts, my husband and I had a discussion while we were watching the show about the new lore they implemented with ghouls & the implications therein. Talking about ableism, negligent writing choices etc
Imo, switching the process of ghoulification from a possibility to an inevitability and making it so ghouls have no choice but to have a chemical dependency or else they’ll turn feral feels like a very poor allegory for addiction. Remain reliant on x substance or become a subhuman monster is what the new ghoul lore boiled down to. It’s not a pretty look. I’m honestly very surprised I haven’t seen more people talking about it— it felt like such a glaring issue to me.
My understanding of ghoulification, as somebody who’s played every game from 1 through 76, was that it’s effectively determined by genetics. Contingent on whether a person does or does not possess a certain gene, when someone contracts radiation poisoning and does not treat it soon enough, they either die or their body rapidly mutates to metabolize radiation— they ghoulify. It’s not something a person can opt into, it’s not something you can reliably force upon a person. Any ghoul hypothetically could go feral but it’s never a guarantee, more importantly it wasn’t some inevitability any given ghoul could only hope to stave off.
In a lot of ways I’ve always understood ghouls to be allegorical for disabled folks, thus the whole “all ghouls will inevitably become monsters if they’re not taking x substance” thing looks even worse. It’s just frustrating. It feels like the Fallout tv show threw an ableism brick through a window and everybody up and went “Hey, that brick is a pretty cool piece of home decor!”
The writers drawing a direct connection between the often shunned fictional race and addiction looks to me like lazy writing and negligence.
If any of my ghoul lore here is missing bits and pieces bear in mind I know ghouls have a lot of compiled lore throughout the games and I am paraphrasing in some places.
