Hiii Alex I hope you are having a wonderful day!!😊 I have a question to ask you and you don't need to answer if you don't want to of course!!
I was wondering if you would mind sharing how you became an artist, if that makes sense? Or perhaps how you draw, I think that's more like it! I've been struggling a little bit and since you are extremely talented I thought perhaps you could explain your process when drawing a character (did you learn some anatomy techniques or maybe you learned some tricks and tips from tutorial videos.)?
I guess what I am trying to say is how did you learned to draw characters, if that is a possibility for you to share of course. I don't want to pressure you or seem mean by making you reveal your process when it comes to art.
Thank you very much for reading this ask and I hope that you are doing okay.💗🤗
Thank you!!
I am a self taught artist and i only draw whatever i liked since i was a little kid, so i never really watched any drawing tutorials to “better my art” since i was doing it purely for fun. Whenever i find a cartoon i like i would try to replicate the style of it but also add my own uniqueness to it, how i draw HH characters now was not my art style a year ago! But i only just started replicating styles, I think for the longest time i would draw in a cutesy anime way. I use a bunch of referencing too, that helps a lot! I personally don’t use shapes or bases when i sketch, i kinda just go with the flow if you know what i mean? I make a lot of mistakes sketching so inverting the canvas and using the (liquify) tool to tweak it before i start doing line art helps a lot. (im also just a huge perfectionist 😔)
Of course it takes a while to get the hang of finding your own art style, when things got too hard i would go on pinterest and get inspiration from other artists there! when it comes to posing, rendering..+ I have separate pinterest boards for each thing. aaaand before this gets too long i just wanted to say thank you again! Every artist has their own unique way of their drawing process, my advice is to keep drawing, don’t focus on negatively comparing your work to anyone else’s, that can get really draining very fast. Do whatever helps you the most and one day you’ll look back to your old art and see how far youve come (i just personally think that’s the best part of it all) 💖

how to be ur own muse⋆.ೃ࿔*:・⭐️
everyone has their own inner well of creativity and inspiration. being ur own source of motivation and inspiration takes others off of the pedestal and puts u on it instead…💬🎀
IDENTIFY UR PASSIONS ;
through identifying what things ur passionate about, ur tapping into what lights ur soul on fire. start passion projects. a passion project is exactly what it sounds like and its an amazing way to use ur own creativity and also serves as something to go back to when ur longing for that inspiration again.
its important that when u have passions and interests that u explore them and foster them. fostering what ur passionate about and practicing it makes u more comfortable and oftentimes when we are more comfortable in something we are open to doing greater things cuz were not constantly psyching ourselves out.
SELF EXPRESSION ;
self expression is so so important because when u express urself honestly and authentically, u uncover passions and ur values and so many other things as well. when u express urself its not only good for ur soul but u can express urself through so many different outlets.
u can express urself through things like art, poetry, song writing, makeup, and even just speaking. its a healthy way to release pent up emotion and passion into a beautiful piece. not only that but self expression fosters creativity and innovative thinking, so its a wonderful way to spark inspiration from within urself.
EXPERIMENT WITH YOURSELF ;
try out new things with urself and ur appearance. whether thats trying out different makeup looks, style, etc. experiment until u figure out what makes you YOU. if u already know ur own style and the things that make u uniquely individual, still experiment with ur look because thats what u do with a muse. the definition of muse is
a person or personified force who is the source of inspiration for a creative artist.
so be ur own creative artist and look towards urself for inspiration. another way to look for and foster inspiration is through pinterest. i have so many boards on pinterest for things that i use as inspiration not only for the songs i write but for my posts as well.
BE OBSESSED WITH URSELF ;
compliment urself constantly, be absolutely obsessed with urself to the point where you HAVE to love urself. loving urself is such an important and essential form of being ur own muse and just such an essential step as well. every artist loves their muse, every artists adores their muse so why should u be different?

#mARTch 2024
text version (with more info!) under the readmore! please check it out if you're confused about anything <3
F.A.Q
do i have to draw every day? no!!!! there are skippable days built into the event, please use them whenever you need them! i really don't want anyone getting a wrist injury!
can you share my art? yep! i try to share entries to @bweirdevents daily during the event!! the tags can get busy tho so i might miss some posts OTL sorry
what are the tags? #mARTch is the main tag, but this year you might find posts in #mARTch2024 too!
wait, i'm confused about a prompt... full breakdown of all the prompts below ↓ with helpful hints if you're stuck!
_____
INTRO WEEK
this week is all about your artistic identity ... technically, you don't have to draw anything new this week if you have some art that already fits. the starter days are:
1 ⭐ self portrait who are you? it doesn't have to be you IRL .. if you feel more comfortable drawing a fursona or mascot, that's fine too! if you don't wanna draw, you can also just share old self portraits today and talk about why you drew yourself that way!
2 🤍 inspirations see how this day doesn't have a star? that means it's optional and you don't have to do it at all! but if you really wanna- tell us all about what inspires you to create art! this could be anything from the people that inspire you, the shows you like, the pins on your big messy pinterest board, or concepts that you're drawn to! you can draw something about it, talk about it, or just post your inspirations! anything is fine
3 ⭐ fav thing to draw what do you like drawing most? backgrounds? animals? one specific animal? bust of your oc facing left? cars? the same anime boy over and over and over? no judgement!! show us :)
_____
STUDY WEEK
this is the week we actually start drawing from reference! polished art is not required at all, quick sketch studies are fine! please don't burn yourself out
4 🤍 plant
5 🤍 body
6 ⭐ animal
7 🤍 object
8 🤍 food
9 🤍 face
10 ⭐ hand
these ones are pretty self explanatory! you can do them as realistic studies, or adapt them into your own art style, it's all fine! you can reference from your own photos or from resources on the web.. have fun!
_____
COLOUR WEEK
this is the week for playing with palettes and working on your colour theory skills! if you're really struggling with these ones, don't worry about drawing scenes or characters, you can just have fun splashing colours around on an abstract canvas!
11 🤍 RGB a set or primary colours typically used in digital/screen art - red, green and blue!
12 🤍 CMYK a set of primary colours typically used in traditional/print art - cyan, magenta, yellow ... and key (black!)
for both of these days ↑ you can add in black and white. and feel free to combine the two days into one, if you're struggling with a three-colour palette! use all six!
13 ⭐ WARM COLOURS the warm side of the colour wheel, reds oranges and yellows!
14 🤍 MONOCHROME monochrome doesn't mean black and white ... it means one colour! that can be any colour at all- shades of red, shades of purple, shades of green .. or yeah, grey if you really want!
15 🤍 COMPLIMENTARY complimentary colours are the ones opposite each other on the colour wheel! they're kinda married
16 🤍 YOUR FAV COLOURS pick any palette that works for you! where's your comfort zone? what looks nice to you? what colour combos do you always go back to?
17 ⭐ COOL COLOURS the cool side of the colour wheel, purples, blues and greens!
_____
CREATIVITY WEEK
this week is all about vibes! try to create something that matches the mood of the prompt .. they're vague on purpose! don't overthink it, just draw from the heart!
18 🤍 SMALL you could draw something that's really small, like an ant .. or draw on a canvas that's really small .. or use a really small brush .. get creative with it!
19 🤍 DANGER try to capture the adrenaline .. the rush .. the fear that you associate with the word danger!
20 ⭐ SOFT soft colours, soft textures, soft vibes ... whatever makes you comfy!
21 🤍 MIDNIGHT darkness and secrecy .. spooky witchy vibes .. the tranquility of a forest at night .. the fun of a late-night party .. there's lots of ways you can take this!
22 🤍 POWER what does this word make you think about? superpowers? control and oppression? literal electrical power? something else?
23 🤍 CHILL chill as in calm? or chill as in cold? who knows .. it's up to YOU!
24 ⭐ LOUD try to draw something that feels LOUD! BRASH! IN YOUR FACE! how can you convey sound through art?
_____
FUN + GAMES WEEK
this week is just for enjoying yourself! take it easy and have fun! also .. another reminder! there are skippable prompts! if you're tired and struggling to get to the finish line, please don't hesitate to skip a day!!! or multiple days!! as many as you need!!!
25 🤍 TRY A NEW ART STYLE copy the art style of a show you like, ask a friend if you can try their style, draw the eyes a new way, develop a totally new style on the spot... whatever you want!
26 🤍 DRAW WITH YOUR NON-DOMINANT HAND righties, draw with your left! lefties, draw with your right! ambidextrous nation ... our time to show off!
27 ⭐ DRAW WITH YOUR EYES CLOSED don't peek! try to draw something without looking! if you really want, you can colour it with your eyes open after you draw the lines/sketch with your eyes closed... but please try not to cheat with the actual drawing part!
28 🤍 RE-DRAW SOMETHING OLD find some old artwork you like, or something you feel like you can do better on now, and give it another go!
29 🤍 RE-DRAW A MEME find a silly picture on the internet to redraw .. do you have any in-jokes with your besties?
30 🤍 DRAW A GIFT FOR A FRIEND create something for someone you love <3
31 ⭐ FREE CHOICE final day! you can draw anything you want today! show off your skills! draw something you've been meaning to draw! whatever!
_____
please refrain from reblogging this post after march ends - next year's prompts will be different, thank you! if you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to shoot me an ask!

the san sequoia family center;
a recreation center for san sequoia! vaguely inspired by this french school i found on pinterest. the lot includes a gym, an indoor pool, indoor/outdoor splash pads, a basketball court, music and art rooms, a yoga studio, a board game room, a cafeteria, and some other stuff i’m probably forgetting 😅 it’s pretty safe to say that you should have PLENTY to do here. there are a few graphical issues caused by my commitment to good lighting, but i’ve listed them under the cut alongside some solutions. enjoy!
required packs: i own all of the packs and used most of them, but some included cc items require eco lifestyle and city living at the bare minimum. obviously, growing together is also required for the lot type
required cc: elevator portals, glass fences, wall advertisements, toddler jungle gym recolor
download (dropbox)
more photos and known issues under the cut 💌
known issues:
1. when a sim swims in parts of the basement pool that are directly under the first floor of the building, the vfx swim trail will appear on the floor above rather than in the pool. i have no idea why <3
2. when looking into the basement pool from upper levels of the lot, the pool shader flickers through the basement’s ceiling windows. they’re not essential to the lot, so feel free to remove them if it bothers you!
3. again with these windows lmao, sometimes they do this (and idk why!!):
to fix it, all you have to do is click on the window in build mode, then hit your ‘esc’ or ‘H’ keys to cancel out of the action. like i said before, if it gets annoying, you can just delete them! this can also happen to the windows on the roof.

I wanted to vent, but also ask an honest question. Since I was a teenager, I always wanted to work on character design. And one thing that always caught my attention was how I always preferred male character designs over female ones. My first thought was that I was always more into androgynous fashion and more masculine styles. But time passed and I came to the conclusion that it wasn't just that, and it seems that male characters can always be different things: fat, thin, handsome, ugly, short, tall, young, old, etc. and female characters, for the most part, fall into two categories: cute or sexy. I wanted some tips on how I can make female characters with more interesting designs, without having to fall into those two categories. I love your work and you managed to make someone else like the three musketeers <3<3
Hello ! That's definitely a good question and something I think about a lot. The bias towards beauty is very strong in character design and it takes a conscious effort to diversify output in that regard.
That sort of advice might be a bit obvious, but one habit I picked up from the director on my first feature film gig was to actually "cast" characters. Without reference, we tend to go for the kind of symmetrical face and "average" features mostly out of stylistic habit. I like to look at character actors with distinct faces (I like this pinterest page that has a lot of faces in one place) but also just acquaintances or pictures of random crowds.
When designing a character, at first I'm always building a big reference board trying to decide what Type of Guy (gender neutral) I'm going for, trying use photos rather than other people's art, because I want to rely on automatics and graphic symbols as little as possible. Whether I'm designing a man or a woman or other, I use references of fashion styles and people across the board in terms of gender so I keep the scope open. Sometimes a character ref board for me will be a picture of one of my aunts next to a bunch of screenshots of Columbo. In my experience, a lot of the times, it's mostly about going with styles and archetypes the same way you would for a male character, and switching it up somewhere along the way by looking at real women in your life and beyond as a grounding mechanism. Sometimes that will mean changing almost nothing, because the borders between genders and how you characterize them is blurry and fluid, and sometimes it will mean using features that are uniquely tied to some sort of female experience.
I enjoy realism and I think getting more proficient at it did help me diversify my designs (I find that more difficult to do with more minimalistic styles). Still, I am mostly a fantasy artist and in my case that comes with some amount of stylization and idealization of shapes and looks. I'm far from perfect in my biases and I'm not going out of my way to draw "ugly" characters because that doesn't mean much to me ; I try to draw inspiration from the faces of every day people and I associate it with my love for fashion. It's also worth noting the work I post here for fun is a lot more hash tag aesthetic than the stuff I do professionally where diversity is much more important.
I don't know if any of that is relevant but that's definitely an interesting topic ! I'd love to know others' perspective and tips on the matter.

HOWDY EVERYONE- so excited to FINALLY be able to show off my piece for this year's Bumbleby Big Bang!
Unfortunately no accompanying story as of yet- but I really hope you guys get to read it someday! The premise involves Yang cursed to be trapped inside a sword, which was an idea I KNEW I had to make move.
Details and development stuff under the cut!
Lots of fun collaboration with the author, Celeste! We worked together to find the look-of-picture, Blake's outfit, how the Grimm look, the style of the sword, the whole shabang! I'm really happy with how it all turned out!
When I first saw all the prompts, even before claims opened, I got to work on a handful of exploration pieces based on some of the summaries, to decide which of the stories I was interested in would be the best fit. Here's the initial idea for this one I put together over a lunch break:
After showing Celeste, we got to work finding the look we wanted! Went back and forth a bit and found this great look for Blake! Also shoutout to Pinterest boards for visdev inspiration I love you Pinterest boards.
Just about everything stayed to final anim, with the simplification of getting rid of that purple cloth hanging from her belt, (since I already had the rope ends to think about working with), and the light purple strap across the chest, since leaving it out would simplify the linework on her chest.
The sword also went through a bit of change! Celeste had the idea of Yang making the sword catch on fire, which I LOVED. I went with a split design so we can see the fire more clearly start from the hilt and grow to cover the whole blade.
And from there we brainstormed animation ideas! I went all over Youtube for video reference of sword work (that would be complex enough to be interesting, but short enough to be manageable). I found something we liked from Motion Actor Inc., a channel I've used LOTS for both personal and professional work (I work in 3D Animation, for those who don't know). I edited this together, to see the action from multiple places at once, which gave me the idea for that camera move that's in the final anim!
Now for the fun part! Make that badboy MOVE. For the cam turn, the first frame she's in the air I'm referencing the top left video, and the frame she lands I'm referencing the bottom left one. While she's airborne I'm just inbetweening that! No reference for the Grimm, just wanted it responding to her attacks, but I end up tweaking the roughs later on to make the block feel stronger.
Then from there we had to actually figure out Grimm designs! Nimona had just released, and Celeste and I loved it, so she asked if I could take some inspiration from Nimona's shadow form! GLADLY. Here's what I came up with!
I was going between how the movies and comic designed Nimona, really loving the almost liquid shadow of the movie, but also how the comics had this broken up/held together rougher form. Celeste liked the second to last one the best! The original plan was to have it leave a wispy shadow trail like the concept art, but to simplify the animation we left it solid instead!
Next up is tiedown! Basically just getting the roughs more on-model, so the lineart comes out nice and clean. I've also transferred the new Grimm design to the base from earlier, and fire's also outlined orange so it reads clearer. (SPOILER- if you look REAL close here, you can see Yang visible in the fire! I liked the idea of Blake's slash also doubling as Yang throwing a punch. The idea is in the concept art earlier but now it's working with the action.)
Next step- final look of picture!! I asked Celeste for sources of inspiration to draw from when thinking about environment design, and we got Nimona, She-Ra, and Owl House! Used each of those as springboards for shading style, colour palettes, and how the fire would look!
From there, we kept the straight trees/bush/lake/foreground greenery from the first one, the blues from the second, and the fire from the third!
Once I had this frame, it was a matter of working backwards and making the background work pre-camera turn (which was ABSOLUTELY the most challenging part of this process). Learned a lot doing this! Procreate isn't quite equipped to make something like this efficient, but I'm pleased to say that Dreams would make something like this easier in the future (keyframing objects instead of hand-drawing/spacing duplicates by hand, for example).
From then on it was just colouring the lineart, adding shading, and finishing up the background! Beginning-to-end this whole process was beginning of July to end of October!
I had an absolute BLAST putting all this together. Here's to next year where I find a way to do something even more ridiculously complicated!! It's fun!!!
#rwby#bumbleby#bumbleby big bang#bbb2023#blake belladonna#yang xiao long#(technically!!! look at the fire!!)#officialrocketart#officialrocketanimates#greatest hits#HOOO WHAT AN UNDERTAKING#so glad I came up with an idea pretty outside of my comfort zone but having the CLEAREST idea on how to execute it#means things went smoothly it just took a Long Time#AND I LEARNED LOTS#hope you guys can read the story one day!! its dope!!#bonus bonus fact for tag readers i didn't put in the post proper: i showed the rough pass to ANIMATION INDUSTRY COLLEAGUES for feedback#shoutout to ioana and v love you both lots#ioana for tightening up the rough pass and suggesting i smear the sword#and v for notes on my sword smears#okay i hope you guys enjoy!!!#it has been true for ages now but The Bees Motivate Me To Create#and in these trying times i thank them for that

To add to the fashion post: According to Rachel the banana dress is supposed to be based, in part, off Trixie Mattel, which is so - What? For anyone who doesn't know, Trixie Mattel is a drag queen, and drag is a performance where gender is hyper-emphasized and stylized, especially towards femininity when it comes to drag queens. Trixie as an artist specifically goes hyper-feminine through the lens of 1960s aesthetics with direct inspiration from Dolly Parton, bands like The Go-Go's and The B-52's, and especially vintage Barbie. You can pick any random episode of UNHhhh or performance footage of Trixie's and always find a direct link to her inspirations in how she presents herself. It's a carefully and personally crafted image and style that makes Trixie stand-out and makes her memorable. And to no one's surprise, a lot of what makes a drag queen is also akin to working a fashion show: Many of their outfits, wigs, and makeup styles are pieces of art, not to be used for every day use.
Persephone, meanwhile, is clearly also supposed to be very feminine and Rachel wants to take inspiration from someone like Trixie to dress her up, but it's obvious that Rachel doesn't get why someone like Trixie is so memorable and why her exaggerated fashion works for her and not everyone else. Everything Trixie does, down to her makeup to the music she makes, shines with who SHE is as a person and performer. If you took Dolly Parton or Barbie out of the equation, then Trixie isn't Trixie. Persephone, in comparison, does not have anything to her that actually makes her every changing fashion choices make sense, she's just a mannequin who is at the whims of a constantly bored Rachel. Why does she wear a sparkly dress in the final battle? It's not because we know it's her personal style or it matches her personality, but because Rachel wanted to draw that. Why does Persephone randomly wear vintage outfits? Not because she's "old-fashioned" or has a stated interest in vintage fashion, but because Rachel wanted to draw that. Why does she wear the wedding dress that she does? Not because she chose it, but because Hera (so really, Rachel) told her to. And the examples go on and on.
To tie it back to the main point, the reason someone like Trixie can rock a huge beehive hairstyle, a goofy banana purse, and a feather dress and make it work is because we know who she is as a person and that those choices reflect herself and her interests. The reason Persephone can't is because we don't know about her actual thoughts, hobbies, or interests. These do not reflect the character, they reflect whatever Rachel saw on her Pinterest board that week.
God, it's wild to me that Rachel can reference literal drag queens but then straightwash just about every canonically queer character in the comic. Even Eros feels chronically heterocis despite being confirmed gay in LO.
Like... Persephone, a chronically heterocis character, trying to be Trixie Mattel feels like some sort of hate crime. I can't prove it, but it's setting off so many alarm bells knowing how much Rachel has appropriated and misrepresented throughout LO (・_・;)

❥ Super Board
genre → fluff
pairing → skz x reader
warnings → secret relationships
word count → 0.7k
summary → this request right here <3
Chan
“Chan! Chan!” The man in question groans when he heard Seungmin’s voice calling out for him. His buff arms pull you even closer to him allowing him to bury his face in your neck. “No one’s home.” Chan’s voice can barely be heard in your neck. The studio door opens and you can hear Seungmin gasp. Looking up at him, his eyes and mouth open wide. “I knew it! I told the others but they didn’t believe me! I was right!” Chan watches as Seungmin practically sprints out of the room yelling for the others. “I should’ve locked the door.”
Minho
Han’s eyebrows creased even further when he noticed Minho phone case. It had changed from the cats to being clear with a photo in the back. “Hey Minho, could I borrow your phone for a minute? I need to text Chan.” Minho didn’t think twice about it before handing Jisung his phone. Waiting until Minho went back to talking to Changbin, and when he finally did, Han flipped over his phone to see a cute photo of you and Minho in a photobooth giving each other a small peck. Han’s eyebrow’s went upwards at the discovery. Once he handed back Minho’s phone, he decided to say something. “So Minho, minding explaining why you and you’re ‘best friend’ are kissing each other in that photo?”
Changbin
He didn’t think the boys would notice the new lock screen. Not when they were practicing their new choreography. Going to fill up his water bottle on their break, he didn’t expect to come back too the others staring at him. After a small staring contest between all of them, Chan eventually broke the silence. “So….who’s the cutie on your lock screen?”
Hyunjin
“Whatcha doing hyung?” The maknae walks into the art room. “Just painting.” Hyunjin refuses to take his attention off of the art, knowing that there was a high probability he would make a mistake and everything for you had to be perfect. “What are you painting?” Hyunjin freezes, you had only been dating about two months and none of the boys knew. “Just a picture I saw on pinterest.” He mumbles. “Really? Because I think that looks oddly familiar to my friend.” Hyunjin knows he screwed now.
Han
“Han, it’s about three now, are you coming with us?” Changbin says while yawning. “Not yet. I just got hit with some more inspiration. I’ll meet you guys back at the dorms.” Changbin frowns but agrees. “Alright, goodnight.” “Goodnight.” Changbin shuts the door and Han can hear his footsteps leave. Han isn’t sure when he fell asleep but he wakes up to Changbin shaking his shoulder. “What’s up hyung, what do you need?” Han isn’t able to say the sentence without a yawn. “Just reading your rap and curious as to who the person you wrote about is.” That wakes Han up. “I didn’t write that rap about anyone.” Changbin just gives him a look that shows he didn’t believe him. “Yeah? Is that name just a random one? It didn’t come from anyone?”
Felix
“Who’s that next to your sister?” Minho whispers to Felix. “Hmm?” Felix looks over at his band mate ‘confused’. “The person next to your sisters, I haven’t seen them before but it seems like your sisters are close.” Minho watches as Felix stays silent with no explanation as to who you were to him. “They’re just a friend…” Even Felix cringes at the hesitation in his voice. Minho lifts up an eyebrow at that. “A friend or a friend?” Felix once again hesitates, letting Minho know the answer. “Don’t worry. I won’t tell the others.”
Seungmin
“Can we go into this shop?” Felix looks confused but nonetheless agrees. “What are you looking for? Anything specific?” Seungmin just nods his head no. His eyes then lock onto a puppy plushie. He walks over to it and grabs it before walking back to the checkout, Felix struggling to catch up. As they’re waiting in line, Felix asks if it was for someone special, expecting Seungmin to give him a side eye, but he didn’t expect Seungmin to blush and have no words to defend himself with.
Jeongin
Hyunjin scoffed when he was the one to go fetch the maknae who had, once again, slept in past the practice time. Unlocking the door, grumbling as he makes it to the bedroom, he freezes when he sees two bodies on Jeongin’s bed. Creeping closer, he realizes that it’s you, the person who Jeongin adamantly says is just a friend. Hyunjin scoffs at that. Yeah, a friend who cuddles with their other friends and who look at each other with heart eyes constantly.

Coriolanus Snow was fourteen years old when he fell in love. The academic year was nearly halfway over, just days away from winter break. Coriolanus hated breaks. His one hot meal a day would be ripped away from him for at least two weeks—longer, perhaps, if the weather turned inclement when school was supposed to pick up again in January. The only good thing about a break was not having to carefully construct his image, to ensure that no one realized that the great house of Snow was falling. But he tried to not pay either issue any mind, choosing to focus instead on the Academy’s trip to the opera house.
It was supposed to be a culture day of sorts. Since the war and the Dark Days, the arts had been slow to return to the Capital. Most of the funding was spent on rebuilding efforts, ensuring that the Capital’s citizens had places to sleep and things to eat. But the Plinth family had been funding the arts steadily over several months since being granted their title, enough so that the opera house could open its doors once every few weeks to hold a performance. Strabo Plinth paid for a Lord’s Room, and insisted that Sejanus’s class be able to attend one such performance.
Coriolanus did not particularly care for the arts. He could see their value, sure, in being able to memorialize parts of history, to show how the public viewed the changes in culture. It was a history lesson for him and little more than that.
His mistake, of course, was muttering that to Sejanus as they took their seats in the front row of the Lord’s Room. Or, rather, his mistake was saying such a thing within your earshot.
“I beg your pardon?” you said, peering around Sejanus.
Coriolanus stiffened, surprised to be called out so publicly. It was one thing for you to question his ideas in the classroom. He didn’t mind that. It kept him sharp. It made him always prepared to provide a solid rebuttal to a counterargument. But this? He didn’t know what to do with this. “I believe our time could be better spent than listening to people sing in a language that we don’t even understand yet.”
“It is remarkable to think that a boy so intelligent could think so lowly of the arts,” you said, turning your nose in the air. “The arts bring us a sense of community. It allows us to come together and understand the way our society functioned and continues to function. It breeds creativity, and with that, innovation. Do you think we would have such impressive advancements if not for people becoming inspired by the beautiful? You think you’ll become a man of logic, of sound mind, but you will be little more than a cynic if you do not appreciate the arts.”
He blinked. Well. He didn’t know how to rebut that. He tried, though, because Snows do not back down from a challenge. “I can understand the value of poetry and prose. But a performance? It seems more gratuitous than anything beneficial to proper society.”
“Perhaps you are of simple mind, then,” you said. You turned your attention to Sejanus. “Are you also simple?”
Heat rose to Coriolanus’s face. He prayed that he did not look as red as he felt. Before Sejanus could answer you, he said, “Are you of simple mind? I can hardly think of a reason to attack someone’s intelligence other than for a lack of a proper argument.”
Rather than looking as embarrassed as Coriolanus felt, you only laughed. “Fair enough, I suppose. How about, you try to find enjoyment in this performance and if you don’t, you can gloat without interruption or criticism.”
“I shall agree to your terms.”
But as the performance began, Coriolanus could hardly focus on anything other than you. How you sat at the edge of your seat. How you propped an arm up on the railing, cradled your face in your palm. The way your eyes seemed to sparkle as you absorbed every note. You were mesmerized and mesmerizing. He couldn’t look away. Coriolanus might not have learned the importance of opera that day, but he certainly realized you were a work of art all your own.
Coriolanus Snow fell in love at fourteen years old in an opera house.
Two weeks later, when the Academy students returned from break, he left a single white rose he begged his Grandma’am for on your desk. You did not know it was from him, but he didn’t seem to mind. Not when you showed the flower to everyone you saw. Not when you wore it so proudly in your hair.
And, now, ten years later, he brought you another rose as you sat curled up in his palace’s library.
You had not yet noticed his presence as he stood several feet away. He didn’t mind, though. Coriolanus fell in love with you when you didn’t even realize he was watching, and he fell further in love with you every moment he had to admire you.
Coriolanus twisted the rose by its stem pinched between his fingers. It was not often that he felt anxious, but it was becoming more frequent. After everything that happened with Sejanus, he found himself becoming paranoid that you might run away. That everything you said that evening was an elaborate ruse and that you were waiting until the last moment to run away to the base Sejanus was stationed at. That, despite his efforts in intercepting Sejanus’s letters to you, one might have slipped through and you were just biding your time.
Still, he felt the need to apologize to you. He was not sure how truthful you had been when you said you intended to tell him of Sejanus’s plan. He wanted to believe it, to be sure. But Coriolanus had been angry enough to murder Sejanus then and there, and he was sure you realized that. Coriolanus was worried that he scared you, that he might have gone a hair too far in ensuring you would not be taken away. That one day soon he might wake to news that you were gone—running off to a life with Sejanus or a life away from him, he wasn’t sure.
And yet, here you were. You had come to the palace unchaperoned, of your own accord. You had done so every day this week. You let him kiss you, and you kissed him. You let him hold you. He did not go further than thatnothing more than passionate kisses and longing touches. Not because he did not desire it, but because he wanted to know you desired it. It meant little to him to have you as a wife in name. He wanted to drive you as insane as you drove him.
Your head lifted as his footsteps echoed across the floor. You watched him as he approached, knelt down before you, and plucked the book from your hands. He marked the page you were on and set it aside, replacing the book with the rose.
You stared at the rose, admiring its pure white petals. “Thank you, Coryo,” you said.
Oh, how he loved for you to say his name. He wished, of course, for it to arise under different circumstances, but he loved it nonetheless.
You reached down, a hand cupping his chin, and pulled him up to meet your lips. Coriolanus kissed you softly, as if you might break, before he moved away and took a seat next to you. He pulled you into his side, his arm snaked around your waist as your head fell against his chest. Your legs curled up under you. You burrowed yourself further into him.
“The ton might soon think we have held a secret wedding if you continue spending your every waking hour here, petal,” he teased. He wouldn’t mind if they thought that. Anything to keep the ton from trying to take you away.
“The ton would believe we lived on the moon if someone was convincing enough.”
He laughed and shook his head. It was nice for you to tease but not direct it at him. “I am pleased you spend so much time here now, though.”
“It…feels safer.”
Oh. Oh, he liked that. How long had he been hoping you would say something like this? Coriolanus lifted your hand to his lips and pressed a kiss to your knuckles. As much as he liked the push and pull with you, this was better. This was nicer. This was the sort of life he deserved.
“Yeah?”
“I don’t feel like I have to pretend to be someone else. When I am with the rest of the ton, I have to still act like a respectable young lady. At home, I can’t even read in peace. But when I am here, I can read and call you horrible names without judgment.”
Coriolanus snorted. “Oh, I judge you for the names you call me.”
“But you don’t stop me either.”
“No, I suppose I don’t.”
And why would he? He loved your wit. Even if there were times he wished you would tone it down, he appreciated that you didn’t put up with bullshit. Coriolanus had little respect for people that allowed others to walk all over them. In his view, most of the ton was like that. You, however, were a beautiful, shining exception.
Coriolanus glanced around the room, making sure that Coriolanus the Cat was not around. Whenever he tried to kiss you, that damned cat would appear out of nowhere to try to claw his face off. (Or, as you put, “play with him.”) Coriolanus wasn’t sure if you were in cahoots with Sejanus, but he was certain that you were in leagues with the cat. Once he was sure the cat was not preparing for attack, Coriolanus cupped your face in his hands and pulled you in for a kiss.
“You can call me anything, and I will still adore you,” he mumbled against your lips. “I love—OW!”
You pulled away with a laugh as Coriolanus the Cat pounced on top of his head. You reached for the cat, cradling the beast in your arms, cooing at it. “We don’t attack our papa, Coriolanus,” you said, pressing a kiss to the top of its head. “He doesn’t deserve that, does he?”
Coriolanus glowered at the cat. “I don’t think that’s my son. I think he’s a bastard.”
You swatted at his chest. “Don’t be rude, he can hear you!”
Coriolanus leaned down and whispered in the cat’s face, “bastard,” before pulling away before the cat could claw his face off. But, while the cat was trapped in your arms, he did take an opportunity to steal another kiss, grinning as you giggled against his lips.
Hmm. He could get used to this.

Hellooo :D!! I just wanted to ask if you have any tips for coming up with ideas for full pieces. It could totally just be “oh this seems cool/cute” and then just testing compositions/colours/etc on the spot (and I’d be happy with tips about that too), but I was curious if there’s any brainstorming you do when/if ideas don’t just pop up in your head (or you do have a very loose idea, but need a bit more planning before actually starting the piece)
Also I obviously need to mention that I ADORE your art!! Your most recent piece with angel Crowley had me in AWE (I’m pretty sure my jaw actually dropped).
Thank you!!!
It's a mix of both "oh my god I have this great idea I gotta draw it NOW" and "let's scroll through pinterest for 2 hours and hope that something inspires me".
For example this piece under the rain was an idea I had while taking a nap. I didn't have any proper references for it and just put a bunch of puzzle pieces together and hoped for the best, haha.
I usually have this one specific idea that I wanna turn into an illustration and then I spend hours searching for references that make the process a little easier. This was my reference sheet for it:
Most of the time I just go through my Pinterest poses board and see if there's something I'd like to draw, though. I save a lot of poses I like constantly that I can go back to later on. This was the case with the angels illustration I did!
I didn't have anything super specific planned for it when I started working on it. I actually planned for it to just be some small and quick little drawing. It somehow turned into the best thing I've ever made djhdhd
Here's my reference sheet for this one:
With most of my work I don't really do a lot of planning. I do that enough in my school assignment already, so I tend to just draw loosely when it comes to personal work, haha.
So the tip I'd give you is to get as many references as you possibly can! It makes your life so much easier. Also look for color palettes you enjoy, see how other artists use colors! And be willing to just experiment. Most of my art is just one experiment after another in hopes that one day I know what I'm doing.
Hope this helps a little bit! Thank you for supporting me and my work! :D

How to Get Inspired to Write and Regain Creativity
The muses are fickle, especially when it comes to writers. Sometimes inspiration strikes at the worst of times—while working, in the middle of the night, etc.—and other times it refuses to strike at all. How do you get inspired to start a project, especially when you haven’t written in a very long time?
Here are some tips and tricks that may help you get back into the writing groove.
1. Is It Writer’s Block You’re Worried About?
This post is meant to be a resource for people who don’t have any current projects or haven’t written/worked on their current projects in a very long time due to lack of inspiration and motivation.
In contrast, “writer’s block” is usually used in reference to having a load of inspiration and motivation to write but struggling with a mental “block” that prevents you from doing so.
These two overlap a lot, though, so if nothing on this post is working, you can find my post on combatting writer's block here!
For some extra help to get the ball rolling once you've regained inspiration, also check out the "Getting Started" section of my FAQ!
2. Set Aside Time to Be Creative
Oftentimes, creativity and inspiration can be lost due to a busy schedule. Life happens! Work, school, and a variety of other things could be restricting your ability to write or do creative things consistently. All it takes is one busy week, or month, or year, and now you feel like you’ve been thrown off of the carousel of creativity and can’t find your way back on again!
The key to combatting this is blocking out an hour or two (every day or every week) that you can use to spend time writing. Set a timer or alarm and put your phone aside (it is your enemy! It can and WILL distract you!) and sit down with the intent to write. Even if you get nothing done, getting in a creative headspace is still incredibly helpful! Baby steps!!!
By blocking out a specific length of time and putting it in your calendar, you can mentally prep to be creative and also can assure that you have ample time to get the juices flowing without worrying about being interrupted.
3. Check Out Some Writing Prompts
Sometimes, it can be easier to start writing if you’re told what to write. A lot of writers find prompts helpful as warm-up exercises, and use them for projects on the side when they’re taking a rest from their current WIP.
It could be helpful to find a couple of prompts and see what cool things you can come up with! Even if they don’t seem like something you’d want to work on long-term, the very act of writing in and of itself will wake your “writing muscles” back up and get them in the groove of being creative again.
You can check out #writing prompts on my blog, or check out these amazing prompt blogs:

4. Write Fanfiction (If you’re just struggling with original works)
Fanfiction is a great way to get back into being creative because all of the hardest parts about getting started (character creation, setting, lore, etc.) have already been done for you. You don’t have to post your fanfiction or even complete your fic, just write a short scene or story about two characters with pre-established backstories, personalities, and dynamics. It’ll get you back into the basics of describing setting and writing dialogue.
5. Make a Fun Playlist or Pinterest Board
Making fun playlists or Pinterest boards based on a certain genre, character, or piece of media you like can really get the creative juices flowing! After all, having a playlist to listen to that perfectly encapsulates the mood, tone, and pacing of your scene or story can really get you inspired! And with a Pinterest board for visual references to back you up, descriptions can come a whole lot easier!
I don't really use Pinterest except for art references, but if you don’t want to make your own writing playlist, feel free to borrow some of mine! Just a note: I find words in music very distracting when I write, so all of these are instrumental. Sorry if it’s not your cup of tea!
Here’s a link to my master list of instrumental playlists.
6. Read!
I know. It’s hard. And I can’t even talk; I haven’t read a proper book in a year, probably. For me, the hardest part is starting; I drag my feet for months before finally picking up a book, whip through a good chunk of it in one or two sittings, but once I put it down, I never return to it. But reading is an excellent way to get inspired as a writer, and to improve your way of writing!
By learning and getting inspiration from fellow writers, you not only get an idea of the creative possibilities, but also learn how different writers work their process. Fanfiction counts, too!
7. Get a Writing Buddy!
Sometimes, creative things such as writing can be hard because they’re traditionally a “solo sport” so to speak.
But having a writing buddy, someone to just be in the room or on call with you while you both be creative together, can do loads for your inspiration. Sure, there’s a chance that you’ll just distract each other and fool around, but if you really work to hold each other accountable, even getting into the creative headspace is a great way to start.
Also, you have a partner to bounce ideas off of!
Hope this helped, and happy writing!

How I manifested an iPad (without realizing it.)
Hello! It’s been a bit a time since I last made a post. I’ve been pretty busy lately, but when I was thinking about what I wanted to post next, I remembered a success story from a while back. This story is definitely one of my favorites.
So to clarify, when I say that I manifested without realizing it, I mean that I manifested before being fully clear about the law. Back then, I wasn’t a part of the community, so I had no idea that what I was doing was manifesting, nor did I know either of the laws. I’ve come to learn that we manifest all the time subconsciously, and now I know how it is utilized properly. But in this story, keep in mind that this was before I was on tumblr.
So there are two types of LOA. Law of attraction, and Law of assumption. I used to confuse the two all the time, so I’ll quickly define them. I know you all have probably seen them defined a million times, so I’ll keep it brief.
(Also please note that these are my personal descriptions of them, so they may not be entirely accurate, nor make sense, but this is just how I would define them.)
Law of attraction is the belief that your thoughts are what attract things into your life, and by focusing your thoughts positively into the things that you desire, you can attract them into your life. For example, bringing money into your life.
Law of assumption is the belief that your thoughts are what shape your reality, and thus if you change your assumptions about yourself and your life, you can change your reality. In this case, instead of bringing, or attracting the money in your life, you would already have it.
I ended up using a mix of both when manifesting my IPad, so when I say LOA, I’ll be referring to both of them.
So onto the story.
A couple of years back, I got back into drawing, and while I enjoyed traditional art, I wanted to branch out into digital art. Many of my favorite artists that I saw on social media were drawing digitally, and I wanted to experiment in the medium. But the only device I had was my phone back then, and a school computer. When researching on what a lot of artists used for digital drawing, I discovered that many of the artists I admired used IPads for their artwork. And so, I decided then that I wanted to get one.
I remember that I focused a lot on what I would do if I had one. I would watch digital drawing tutorial videos, make Pinterest boards for inspiration, I followed my favorite artists on instagram, and would get inspired by watching speed paints and looking at their art. I remember how I would bask in the feeling of excitement at the thought of having my own iPad and creating my own artwork, focusing on the positive feelings that would arise when I thought about having one. Just thinking about it filled me with joy and motivation. I didn’t think of how, where, or where I would get it. I just knew that someday I would get one.
A few months later, it’s summer and I’m offered a spot on a team for a contest. After accepting, I attended a lot of meetings discussing the competition and preparing, we left two weeks later to compete. We worked really hard, and I had a lot of fun being on that team. When we competed, I was super excited but also full of nerves because we each had a part and I had to speak in front of a crowd. But it ended up paying off.
When the award ceremony came, I was full of nerves again, because I was unsure where we would place, or if we would even place at all. I remember seeing that a team I thought would win got second. At that moment I wondered which team was good enough to beat them for first place. And it ended up being my team. I felt a rush of excitement and emotions as we went up on stage and accepted our medals. It was my first time winning a team competition, so it was fun celebrating with the people I had been working with for two weeks. It was rewarding knowing that our hard work payed off. But the kicker was what happened after that.
After celebrating for a bit, and heading to the awards banquet, we learned what prizes we would receive for placing first. We received three prizes, and among them was…an IPad.
Now, I was in complete shock. I had heard from my mentor that the tech prize would be a computer. But it ended up being an IPad instead. The very thing I had said that I wanted. I remembered thinking it was just a very lucky coincidence, and I joked with my parents that I had gotten what I wished for. But now I know that in reality, I had actually manifested my iPad.
Recently, when I was struggling with manifestation again, and feeling stuck in a loop of negativity, I made a list of all the things I had already manifested to pull myself out of it. Through that, I was able to remember this story. Realizing that I had manifested before I even knew that it was a thing motivated me so much, because I realized I was putting so much pressure on myself to do something I had already done several times.
So I think the best advice I could give is that if you are struggling with doubt and negative thoughts, please remember how powerful you are. You are capable of manifesting anything that you want. I know it seems unbelievable at times. It was for me too, which I why I first saw my manifestation as a lucky coincidence. I’ve realized too that putting a label on the law often adds this extra pressure, because we aren’t sure if we are applying it correctly. But we are the creators of our realities. There is no wrong way to manifest. Just do what works best for you. But don’t give up. If you do, you could miss out on receiving your desires. The law cannot fail, and neither can you.
Thank you so much for reading! I truly hope this post was able to motivate or help you in some way. I’ll see you guys in the next post!
With love,
Lune.
