Retaliation and Discovery
Trouble finds Hunter again. Yet this time, his friends notice the ghostly intervention. They want to talk about what this means now and what they should do about the situation.
Warnings: canon-typical violence (a fight of sorts), mentions of prior death (from ghost)
Relationships: (mostly) Platonic Hunter and Everyone
Wordcount: 7138
Notes: This one is longer than the other two in the series.
Things weren’t back to normal yet. Even though school was back in session for young witches and demons on the Boiling Isles. Really, they were lucky that Hexside was in such a good state. Many other areas and buildings were not so lucky. It was pretty common for the residents to work together to rebuild around the island. Even Luz, who lived back in the human realm again with her mom, came as often as she could during the school term to help out.
Even with the glyphs no longer around, she still managed to do a good amount with the help of her staff. This was another such occasion. Many of them who were part of the resistance worked together to help rebuild another part of the island. The citizens who were most affected seemed very appreciative of what they were doing.
Although, Hunter supposed he should have expected this. Not everyone would be receptive to his help. Especially given what the Isles had just gone through.
Their group walked up to a row of vendors, or what used to be.
“We’re here to help!” Luz announced. One of the vendors, who had been rummaging through the remains of his stand looked over to them. His shoulders slumped and he gave them a tired smile.
“Oh thank goodness. I wouldn’t have known where to go with this.” He stood up and walked over to them.
“Please tell me at least one of you works with magic that would help me reconstruct this,” He said.
They nodded.
“Yep,” Willow stepped up.
“We have plant magic and construction magic here to assist you,” She said.
Mat stretched his fingers and smiled smugly. Gus rolled his eyes at the gesture but didn’t say anything.
The vendor nodded.
“Okay, good.” He turned to look at what was left of his stand again and gestured.
“I think the big thing we need to do first is sort the scrap-“ He stopped when his gaze happened to stop on Hunter’s staff. The one with artificial magic.
Hunter shrunk in on himself a bit, and slightly moved his staff behind him. Not that it would be hidden from view.
The vendor’s face pinched up.
“That strange staff, there’s something familiar about it,” He continued to stare for a moment when realization came across his face.
“That’s like Emperor’s Belos’ staff.” He looked up at Hunter.
“You’re the Golden Guard, aren’t you?” He asked with a scowl.
Hunter swallowed,
“Uh-
“Was the golden guard,” Darius bit out.
The vendor huffed and looked over to the adults in the group,
“What’s he doing here with you all?”
Darius struggled to hide the way his fists clenched at that. Raine smiled a bit nervously,
“He volunteered to help rebuild the isles,” They said.
“He was also a big help with the fight against Belos,” Eda said, crossing her arms a bit.
Hunter wasn’t too sure about that.
The vendor scoffed.
“I don’t need him doing nothing anywhere near my stand. It’s damaged enough as is,” He said.
Hunter’s eyes widened.
“I just wanted to help,” Hunter said.
“He’s not the only former member of the emperor’s coven helping either,” Lilith said.
“Yeah, well the golden guard was Belos’ right hand man,” The vendor said, “He’s done enough.”
“He’s just a kid!” Darius exclaimed. Hunter winced at that.
The vendor was still scowling.
“I-it’s okay,” Hunter said. The others turned to him with varying expressions.
Hunter shuffled in place. “I get it, really. I know what I did as the golden guard. You all go ahead. I’ll wait until we get to the next person willing to let me help.”
Darius gave him a concerned look. He definitely didn’t want them to just give in.
The vendor went ahead and started telling the group what he would need to get done first. Some of them listened. But Hunter’s friends looked at him for another moment.
Hunter tried to smile to reassure them.
“I’m okay, really. There will be other times I can help. Go ahead,” He said. Then Hunter crossed the street and sat on a step.
Hunter could tell his friends didn’t want to leave him like that.  It didn't take long though for other vendors nearby to start asking for their help. So they were hustled into removing the debris. The last one to linger looking at Hunter was Willow.
Hunter sighed and set his staff down. Stupid artificial staff. It was the only way he can do some witch things now but he hated using it. The thing felt cold. Not like physically though, it was hard to explain. It felt almost unnatural. Using that staff never used to bother him. In fact, in some ways it was still more powerful than a palisman staff for a powerless witch.
But compared to using a palisman staff, the artificial one felt so disconnected. Like there was a stutter upon every use. Hunter figured it was more his personal feelings that it wasn’t flapjack. The bird meant way more to him than power strength any day.
He got lost in his thoughts and didn’t notice the strangers approaching.
“Hey check this out.”
Hunter looked up to see a large boy, maybe his age, grab Hunter’s staff.
“Hey!” Hunter shouted. He sprang up.
“That’s mine! Give it back!” Hunter reached to grab it from the boy’s hands, but the larger guy held it up fast and moved away. The guy laughed as his friends quickly restrained Hunter from behind. Hunter growled and flash-stepped side to side. But the guys held on, gripping him harder despite the move bringing them side to side with him.
“Careful now,” The one with the staff said. He moved his hands to the middle of the staff, holding it horizontally, and mimed a breaking motion.
“Else I’ll break your only chance of having power like a real witch,” He said.
Hunter paused and grit his teeth. It was possible he could get it in time with his flash step, but Hunter was too afraid to chance it in that moment.
The large guy smiled.
“Ha! That’s what I thought.”
“Why do you want that anyways?” Hunter asked.
The guy shrugged.
“I figure it’s the least I deserve after what the emperor did to me. To get more power.” After he said that, the large guy rolled up his sleeve. He showed Hunter the sigil with scar marks around it from the day of unity.
“I never wanted to join a coven. My whole family was wild witches. But unfortunately, too many in one place stuck out too much to the coven guards. I managed to keep my younger sister away from them, she was a bit young after all. But I was forced to join a coven if I wanted to stay with her. I didn’t even get to choose the one for my best magical skill. Apparently, they took away my choice for that because of my family association.”
Hunter winced at the story and looked down.
“The Emperor hurt a lot of people for a long time. I know that.” Hunter then looked back up at him.
“But I know some of the former coven heads are already working on a way to get rid of the sigils-“
The large guy scoffed.
“And who knows how long that will take. I still have to live with this. Stuck only using a weak magic.”
He tossed the staff up in the air briefly.
“This outta give me some attack abilities at least to help me protect my sister. There’s no way to know who to trust now,” He said.
“Wait!” Hunter exclaimed. “There’s gotta be people who can help you. You don’t need to take that. The rebellion-“
“The rebellion worked too late,” The guy seethed out.
And with that, he turned around and started to walk away. Hunter continued to struggle against the guys holding him in place.
“Enough!” The dude on the right shouted, shoving him roughly into the other one holding him.
“All it takes is one holler and our guy breaks your precious staff.”
 That got Hunter to pause,
“Wait, if he wants the staff, what good would breaking it do?”
The left dude shrugged. “It wouldn’t exactly be a loss cutting power from the golden guard,” He said.
“But I’m not-“
The right dude punched Hunter’s face to the side.
“I said zip it!”
“What the-“
The three of them looked up to see the large guy had stopped abruptly. The large guy tried to step forward again, but the arm holding the staff stopped in place. Like something was keeping the staff from moving.
“How is it doing that?” The guy asked.
Hunter stared on as well. He’d never seen that happen before. Then the staff started to shoot upwards. The guy held on hard, his arm being pulled up more as the staff kept going. The guy grit his teeth as it kept pulling. He tried to reach with his other hand to get a better grip, but the staff was already too loose in his hand by them. So the shift allowed it to pull free from his hand, dropping him hard on his back. He groaned at the fall.
Then the staff went back to Hunter and the other dudes. It went back and forth whacking the dudes who were still restraining him.
“Whoa!”
“Hey!”
They both flinched back, getting hit by the thing. They continued to try ducking away from it while still holding Hunter.
But after enough whacks and fails at evasions, the two let go. They ran off muttering, ‘wasn’t worth it’, and ‘stupid staff’.
Hunter continued to stare as the staff then landed back to rest against his typical grip.
“Okay, I know there’s no way this can do that on its own,” He muttered. Then,
“Look out!”
Hunter jolted and turned to where the shout came from.
Back across the street, the vendor’s sign that had been hanging, had come loose. It fell right where the vendor from earlier had been.
Amity held up abomination goo that caught the sign. Willow was also hovering to the side on her staff with the vendor caught.
Darius then assisted Amity with raising the sign back up to where it was using abomination goo. A couple of the others in the group got to work re-securing the sign.
Willow let the Vendor back down, who was still staring at where he had almost been hit a moment ago, with wide eyes.
Wow.
He knew it was certainly possible for things to fall when they were working around debris like this. But Hunter also knew this group. They wouldn’t have let any bystanders near the reconstruction unless it was safe. That combined with the weird thing that had just happened with the staff made him wonder.
Of course, it was possible he was being paranoid, but this staff had never acted on its own like that. It wasn’t a palisman. There was no attachment to the wielder. Hunter looked around. He wasn’t sure. He wanted to investigate what happened by the stand though. Hopefully, the guy would let him at least come over.
“Nice save girls!” Hunter exclaimed as he walked back over.
Amity and Willow both looked at him and smiled. Amity for only a moment since she was still partially holding up the sign.
“Thanks, Hunter!” Willow exclaimed. He smiled at her back, feeling warm and light all of a sudden just from her grateful look at him. Then he carefully stepped closer to the stand, trying to be subtle about it. Avoiding looking at the vendor. Everything else about the stand seemed fine. Their group worked well and quick it seemed.
“Hey what held up this sign anyways?” Hunter asked.
He glanced to the side as Luz, who was the one right there, shrugged.
“Don’t know. They probably do,” She pointed to the group members re-securing the sign,
“But they’re a bit busy at the moment,” She said.
“Right, right,” Hunter said with a nod.
The vendor huffed and threw his arms up, “I wasn’t even in the way!” He exclaimed.
“I’m telling you, someone must have pushed me,” The vendor continued.
…okay, that was a little harder to pass off as a coincidence.
Hunter sighed. His friends looked at him. Then Luz gasped.
“Hunter?” She said.
Hunter looked at her.
“What?”
She pointed next to him.
Uh oh.
Hunter looked to where she pointed. Just behind and to the side of him. The figure was a bit more faded, most have been the sunlight. But it was the very light figure of the ghost of Caleb, again.
Hunter narrowed his eyes at him. He knew it.
Caleb smiled at him, knowingly.
“Cal-” Before Hunter could finish, Caleb disappeared again. Hunter growled out in frustration. Why did he always do that?
Hunter puffed a sigh and then turned back to his friends. They looked on with wide eyes in concern.
“What was that?” Gus asked.
“Was that the ghost of Caleb?” Luz asked.
“Caleb?” Willow asked. “As in the Caleb who Bel-“
“Yes, that Caleb,” Hunter cut in. He rubbed his temples.
Hunter’s friends looked at each other.
“I think we need to talk about this,” Willow said.
*
A good amount of the group still stayed to help the other vendors with their stands for the day. But Hex squad, Darius, and Eda all met at the Owl House to talk about what happened.
“Okay, so do you know anything about what happened there?” Eda asked.
Hunter sighed.
“So, ever since I went off on my own after the final battle with Belos, I’ve been visited by this ghost. Caleb. The one who Belos based the golden guard grim walkers after. I guess he had been haunting Belos after getting murdered by him. But he still stuck around because he felt responsible for me after what Belos did to me. He considers us family or something, which I guess in a way we are. He said he wants to look out for me. The sign thing was probably in retaliation for the way the vendor treated me as the former golden guard.”
“So, you have a ghost hanging around you that gets back at people that are mean to you? Did I understand that right?” Amity asked.
Hunter shrugged. “I guess that’s what’s going on. I didn’t want him to do that. I even said I didn’t need it. Last time, he slammed a locker door in Boscha’s face for giving me a hard time at school.”
Willow tried to cover a snort at that. Luz looked at her. Then Willow looked down.
“Sorry. She probably deserved it though,” Willow said.
“I mean,” Hunter started, “I’m not gonna say she didn’t, but I still didn’t need it. I can handle a mean girl. And a vendor who was rightfully upset with the golden guard.”
“Hunter…” Luz started. Hunter waved a hand.
“It’s fine, really. Anyways, he seems to always disappear on me until the next time. Probably because last time I told him I didn’t want him to do these things. I certainly didn’t want a sign to fall on that vendor. “
Luz hmmed.
“It is kind of cool that you almost have a guardian ghost though,” She said.
“Yeah well, I don’t need it,” Hunter grumbled, “and I especially don’t need ghostly retaliation to happen every time I’m in a situation. It’s not like I can always predict when I’ll run into trouble.”
“That’s probably why he’s doing this,” Gus said.
Hunter huffed at that.
“So what do we do then?” Amity asked, looking around.
“Maybe we can just ask him to tone done his methods of protecting you?” Luz suggested.
Hunter sighed, “Yeah, I wouldn’t mind that. But I don’t really know how this ghost thing works with me. I don’t know where he goes, or if there is a way to get him to come out  and talk.”
Darius hmmed.
Raine then said, “Hey Eda, haven’t you worked with ghosts before?”
“Ehh,” She said, “I set some loose in the girl’s locker room when I was in school. I didn’t exactly have conversations with them.”
“Where did you even get them then?” Gus asked.
Eda thought on it, “Probably from something related to the oracle classes.”
“Oh right,” Luz said, “Oracle magic wielders can summon spirits, can’t they?”
Eda nodded.
“So perhaps,” Darius began, “We should ask the Oracle professor at Hexside. See if she knows anything that could help up communicate with Caleb.”
Hunter nodded. “Yeah, that’s a good idea. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that before.”
Darius nodded, “Yes well, in the meantime. Let’s try and keep you out of trouble. Although we really should have been doing that anyways.”
Hunter rolled his eyes in response to that. Then he stood up and followed Darius to the door of the Owl house.
“You all can get back to helping if you like. But I think we’ll head home for now, as we’re figuring this out.”
They nodded. Amity decided to go back out and help with repairs. The others decided to stick around. So they could see if they could do some research on their own. To find anything else about ghosts from Eda’s resources. Willow went with Gus to the library to scour those books for help.
They didn’t have to do that. But Hunter appreciated having such good friends.
Darius teleported the two of them home, or to Darius’s house using his abomination goo.
“Hunter,” He started, getting Hunter to look at him.
“Why didn’t you tell me you were dealing with this?”
Hunter shrugged and looked down.
“At first I was still reeling from the odd experience. It’s one I wouldn’t have expected after all. Plus…it’s hard to talk about the whole grimwalker thing. I didn’t know how much you knew, and I didn’t want you to think any differently of me. And I also didn’t want to worry you.”
Darius sighed and bent to his level. He put his hands on Hunter’s shoulders,
“Hunter. I’m the one who looks after you now. It’s part of my job to worry about you. You don’t need to avoid telling me things. In fact, I would like to know what’s going on in your life. Okay?”
Hunter hesitated but then nodded slowly.
“Okay,” He said a bit quietly.
Darius smiled at him and squeezed his shoulders. Then he stood back up and let go.
“We’ll figure this out,” He said.
Hunter hoped so.
*
The Hex squad went with Hunter the next time they had school to go see the Oracle professor.
Luz had wanted to come to, but she still had classes in the human realm. Her mom didn’t want her to skip. They reassured her that Hunter would be okay with them there and that she would be updated on what they learned.
Their group went early before classes started for the day. Darius came with them as well.
She seemed surprised to see their group there.
“Uh, hello?” She said.
Hunter smiled and gave a little awkward wave.
“Hi, Professor. Sorry to bother you, but uh I’ve been dealing with something we were hoping you may be able to help with.”
She looked confused, as she glanced over the group again before looking back at Hunter.
“Alright?” She said.
Hunter sighed, “So uh, I’m being followed around by a ghost. I was hoping you’d have some insight about what to do about it?”
The Oracle teacher blinked and then looked around him. Hunter followed her gaze, but nothing was there.
“Uh, he’s not always there. Or, at least he doesn’t always appear to me that is,” Hunter said.
The oracle teacher hmmed. She walked over to a crystal ball she had on a table at the front of the room. Then she waved a hand over it. Inside the crystal ball started to swirl a cloud shape that began to glow a light purple. She waved him to come closer. So he took a cautious step towards it and looked on curiously.
She kept her hand just above it. No one spoke for a moment. Until she nodded and looked back at him.
“Yes, I can sense there has been spiritual energy around you,” She said.
Hunter’s eyes widened, “Really?”
“Mhm,” She waved her hand over the crystal ball again.
“So what can you tell us about this?” Willow asked.
The oracle teacher glanced to her then back to the group.
“Well,” She started, “That is not such a simple answer.”
“What do you mean?” Amity asked with narrowed eyes.
The oracle teacher sighed.
“Our interactions with spirits as witches and demons are limited. Therefore, so is our understanding of interacting with them.”
She waved a hand up and produced a spirit that resembled a mummy floating above the crystal ball. She held her hand up towards it in a stopping motion,
“Wait,” She said, then looked back to the group.
“I know more about communicating with spirits for the sake of foresight, and to command them to fight for me. Like this one is ready to do. We don’t typically teach on how to trap spirits that are already out in the world.”
“Whoa, what?” Hunter said. “I didn’t say I wanted him to be trapped.”
She gave him a look at that.
“You said you wanted the situation dealt with,” She said.
“That doesn’t mean I want to trap him in a crystal! He said he wants to look out for me. I just don’t want him to keep randomly attacking anyone who gives me a hard time. I was hoping for a way to maybe summon him enough to talk about it or convince him to change how he is protecting me. Something like that,” Hunter said.
“Ah,” She started, “So you have actually communicated with this spirit in a normal way? No summoning involved?”
“Uh yeah, I think so,” Hunter said.
She hmmed.
“Yes, I think you would know if you were summoning him. Especially considering your own limitations involving magic,” She said.
Hunter blinked at her.
“How-“
“Principal Bump informed all your teachers of your situation, to a certain extent. So we could adapt to teaching you,” She said.
Hunter frowned at that. He supposed that should have been expected.
“Well regardless, conversing with a ghost the way you mentioned is not something I hear of much,” She said.
“Oh really?” Hunter asked.
She nodded.
“Yes. I mean, clearly, we do have ghosts around here. Most students here have seen them. But this is quite a specified agenda connected to you. Do you know why he is doing this?” She asked.
Hunter hesitated. He knew telling her as much as possible could help her understand enough to maybe help out. But it was still weird to talk about for him. Especially around people he didn’t know very well.
“He considers us family,” Hunter said.
The oracle teacher pursed her lips, probably suspecting there was more to it. But she didn’t push.
“Well as I was saying, many of the spirits we encounter don’t talk about their former lives or connections. We believe many of them forget. Either that or their time as spirits fades their personal connection to how they were before. That is, their memories fade. They don’t appear distressed by this. At least, it’s not clear when we interact with them for summoning purposes. I can talk with colleagues and try to find more information. From the oracle cov- or, the former members of the oracle coven that is. I will get back to you if I find anything.”
Hunter nodded.
“Thank you,” Darius said in response, putting his hand on Hunter’s shoulder.
She nodded.
“Of course. But until then,” She walked back over to her desk and pulled out a drawer.
“I don’t have enough of these for all my students, but I thought it could be of some use.”
The oracle professor pulled out a necklace with a circular clear ball as the pendant. It reminded Hunter of a necklace he used to see Amity always wearing. Amity gasped when she saw it.
The oracle professor walked back over to them and handed it to him.
“If we do eventually aim to have this ghost trapped in a crystal ball, it should be your own.”
Hunter looked back up at her.
“I don-“
“I know you said you don’t want to do that to him,” She interrupted, “But we’ll have to keep in mind how destructive he could end up being. This ghost sounds unpredictable.”
Hunter frowned and looked back down at the necklace in his hand. Hunter didn’t want to believe that Caleb could be dangerous. But he understood where she was coming from. This situation made him nervous after all. Even if knowing the other was looking out for him felt nice. He wished he had more control over it, but he didn’t want to control Caleb. Moreso he wanted the ghost to listen to him about his preferences.
“But that’s not the only use for this, though,” the professor continued.
Hunter glanced up at her again.
“This crystal ball gives you a stronger avenue to connect with the spiritual world. It’s a more powerful tether between worlds. Seeing as it’s designed for such a purpose unlike the person he is haunting, you,” She said.
“Would this help him to appear more? Since he would often disappear on me,” Hunter mentioned.
She hmmed again, “It’s more likely at least. If it’s unintentional. This might depend on how much control and motivation he has on his end to reach you enough to become visible. You may need to assert more force on your end in order to summon him the way you want to, if talking to him is what you wish for. And who knows. Maybe you can convince him to go into the crystal of his own accord.”
“Is there a way we can ask other spirits you already have access to more? About understanding their world and other spirits. That seems like it could help us,” Gus said, gesturing at the spirit the oracle teacher still had floating over her own crystal ball.
She glanced at the spirit in thought.
“It is certainly something we could try. Not with this one though.” She twirled her hand, and the mummy-looking spirit went back into it’s crystal ball.
“I’d still rather communicate with my fellow oracle witches first. Communing with spirits the way witches and demons like us do are already a delicate balance as is,” She said.
“Why are you so afraid of doing anything different from the norm?” Willow asked as she crossed her arms.
“Willow,” Amity hissed. Willow didn’t back down though.
The Oracle teacher huffed at that.
“It’s not that. I can’t expect any of you to understand. There is intricacy to maintaining careful control when interacting with spirits. That is, with summoning."
“Is there any reciprocity with these summonings?” Gus asked. He seemed to understand what Willow was getting at.
Hunter understood where they were coming from. But he was afraid upsetting her might wreck his chances of getting help.
She frowned at him.
“I don’t like your tone, young man. In fact, Hunter is the only one of you who should actually be here since he is the only one who is my student. Well uh, that is-“ She paused when she remembered Darius was there as well.
“Of course you can be here as well, not that you need my permission, coven leader Darius.”
Darius put a hand up to get her to stop.
“There is no need for that, professor. The coven system is no longer around after all. And I will respect a teacher’s authority in her own classroom.”
“Yes, I know,” She continued again, “But I know you’re here for Hunter, as his…” She hesitated as though unsure how to refer to him.
“I’m his guardian, yes.”
Hunter and Darius hadn’t quite discussed how Hunter wanted to refer to Darius yet. Hunter felt like Darius was his dad, but he hadn’t ever referred to anyone in that way. The emperor was his ‘uncle’. He wasn’t sure what Darius would want to be to Hunter either.
“Right, yes,” The teacher continued, “You have the right to come to me with concerns that affect your, uh, Hunter. That I would be able to help with.”
Darius nodded.
“I know.”
The bell rang. Occupants of the room looked up.
“Well, I suppose we should leave you to your classes then,” Darius said, as he lead their group out of the room. Hunter didn’t have the class til later.
“I’ll keep you updated!” She shouted to them over the sound of the students bustling about.
Upon leaving, their group dispersed to go where they each needed to.
Hunter quickly put the necklace on, hiding the pendant under the neckline of his robes. He would think about that later.
*
Hunter wasn’t able to stay with his friend group the whole school day. They did have different course studies. But that hadn’t gone as poorly as it did his first day at this school. Even though he passed Boscha on occasion, she hadn’t made a stink about him anymore. She actually ignored him. Or when she did see him, she just frowned and went back to her friends. There was no way the locker door incident alone was enough to get her to stop being annoying. He had a feeling there was more going on. Maybe he could ask his friends what they thought about it another time. Now though, he was preoccupied with other things.
He was thinking a lot about the last encounters of Caleb retaliating on his behalf. And also what the oracle teacher said to them that morning. He wasn’t really sure what to expect from this. But he wanted to try the crystal pendant later. He wasn’t sure if he’d be able to focus otherwise. Since Caleb felt so unpredictable with things.
Hunter never thought he’d wish for bad things not to happen to him solely to avoid ghostly retaliation. It never felt deserved. Even if the other person was a jerk. There was still times he really was saved, while being in danger, such as the incident with the staff thieves. But that didn’t feel right either. He should have needed that. It still didn’t feel deserved.
Hunter really hoped one day of distraction wouldn’t wreck the track he was on with his schoolwork.
-
They met back at the Owl house later after school. Apparently. Luz couldn’t wait. She practically fled to the collector’s portal almost as soon as she got home from school that day. She nearly knocked Hunter over on her palisman when they both got there.
“Whoops! Sorry, Hunter. I just really wanted to get back as soon as I could, to find out what you all learned from the oracle teacher.”
Hunter sighed and made his way over to the couch. Their group who went to the teacher, now along with Eda, Raine, and King sat around him.
“We didn’t find out a whole lot,” Amity said with a sigh. She sat down on the couch as well. Luz sat between them and leaned into Amity.
“I guess she wants to talk with other oracle witches to learn more,” Darius said as he came into the room behind them. Eda may need to get more seats if having a gathering of this size was going to become more common.
“She did give me this though,” Hunter said, as he brought out the pendant from under his shirt. Luz gasped,
“Is that-“
“Yeah,” Amity answered her. “Just like mom’s.”
Hunter blinked. He didn’t know about that.
“I’m not entirely sure how I can use this to be able to talk to him yet, but I figured I should at least try.”
The others nodded.
“How do you want to try this?” Willow asked. She was sitting on the armrest next to him on the couch.
Hunter sighed as he stared at him.
“I’m not sure,” He said. “I have tried telling him I don’t him to do some of the things he has been. So I’m not sure how this time will go any different.”
“You said he’s really only appeared to you on your own, right?” Eda asked.
Hunter nodded.
“Well, even if you summon him by yourself, doesn’t mean you have to deal with him on your own. We have your back,” Eda said.
Hunter shot her a smile.
“And besides,” Luz added, “Maybe hearing from us how he’s affecting others around you might get him to see some sense.”
Hunter hmmed and then nodded.
“Okay. I’m going to try this on my own first. Then I’ll see if I can bring him out here to you all. Is there anywhere around here I can go for some privacy?”
“You can try in my room!” Luz exclaimed with a bounce. She lead him there. Once they both went in, Luz gave him a hug.
“Good luck,” She whispered, and then left the room. Hunter smiled after her. Then he closed the door and walked inside more. Hunter stared down at the crystal pendant. He held it in his hand and tried to remember what the oracle teacher had said earlier.
Even if he didn’t have the powers for it, his connection to this ghost him could still aid him to summoning the other.
Hunter closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Then he focused on drawing the ghost to him.
Caleb, come here. We need to talk.
“Whoa!”
Hunter jumped and immediately opened his eyes. He hoped the abrupt change wouldn’t affect the summoning, but no. Caleb was still there. Clear as day.
Caleb had wide eyes. He looked over his own ghostly arms and then looked around.
“How did I get here?” He asked.
“Uh,” Hunter said, because he wasn’t quite sure how this worked.
“Didn’t you say you were always following me?” Hunter asked a bit awkwardly.
Caleb hmmed.
“Yes, but…uh I don’t even know how to describe it. When I’m not choosing to appear to you, I’m almost in a different plane of existence? I hope that’s the right term. So I can feel the difference. I haven’t been brought to your plane so suddenly before though,” Caleb said.
“Oh,” said Hunter. He wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or not.
“Could it be because I summoned you?” Hunter asked. Caleb gaped at him.
“You did? I didn’t know you could do that,” Caleb said.
Hunter rubbed the back of his neck.
“Yeah, well, it was my first time doing it.”
Hunter hesitated. The conversation with the oracle teacher made him feel a bit more cautious about this. But, he wanted to trust Caleb. So he carefully showed the ghost his pendant.
“I got this from my oracle teacher. Apparently crystals like this have a higher connection to the spirits’ world? Witches and demons will often use them to summon spirits for fortunes and to assist them in battles.”
Caleb looked at it curiously.
“How interesting. I’m not sure if I’ve seen such a thing before,” Caleb said.
Hunter tilted his head.
“Really?” Hunter asked.
Caleb shook his head.
“It’s possible I have had a one track mind as a ghost. And Evelyn never showed me such a thing.”
“Who-“ Hunter started to asked but then stopped. He had a specific reason for summoning Caleb here. He didn’t want to get too distracted. He could ask more questions later.
“Nevermind. Caleb, do you mind if I introduce you to some people?” Hunter asked.
Caleb drew back a bit.
What?”
Well, that didn’t seem good.
“It’s okay! They’re friends who I trust. It’s just that, they saw you. After you retaliated near the reconstruction of the vendor stands. They are understandably concerned that I have a ghost attached to me, and wanted to meet you. And make sure everything is okay.”
It wasn’t wrong. Hunter’s friends were concerned about the ghost situation.
Caleb pursed his lips at that.
“Are they going to try to do anything to me?” He asked.
“What could they do? You’re a ghost. But I’ll make sure they don’t try anything as long as I’m okay.”
Caleb blinked at him.
“Of course you’ll be okay. I’ve been protecting you,” Caleb said.
Hunter sighed at that. “Yeah, but they’re protective of me too. So they’ll want to be sure of that.”
Caleb smoothed his face.
“If we’re on the same page, then of course. I don’t mind showing them so,” Caleb said.
Hunter nodded slowly at that. He still wasn’t sure about this.
“Okay. Just wait until I say I’m ready to show you, okay?” Hunter asked.
Caleb nodded.
“Will do,” He said.
Hunter went back to the main room of the Owl house where everyone was waiting.
“Well?” Darius asked.
Hunter smiled a bit nervously.
“It worked! I told him to wait for my okay before coming in here with me. You all ready to meet him?”
They all looked at each other first before nodding at Hunter.
Hunter exhaled.
“Okay.” He looked over to where Caleb was just off to the side in the hallway.
“You can come in now,” Hunter said.
Caleb phased through the wall and floated beside Hunter for a moment.
“Uh, hello?” Caleb said a bit nervously. Everyone stared.
His form flickered a bit.
“Whoa, is everything okay?” Hunter asked. Caleb leaned over to him,
“I think so…It’s just been a while since I’ve been seen by so many people before,” He whispered.
“Wow…” Luz said. “You really are Caleb.”
Caleb straightened up and looked to her.
“You know of me?” He asked.
“Uh, well,” Luz hesitated. “I remember seeing your image the time Hunter and I were in Belos’ mind. Plus, they sort of have a memorial with images of you back in the town I’m from.”
Caleb blinked at that.
“Interesting. I’d be curious to see such a thing. Well, the monuments that is,” Caleb said.
“Maybe you can come with me to the town some time,” Hunter said. “So far it seems like you can go where I can.”
Caleb hmmed.
“Perhaps,” He said.
“Alright,” Eda cut in. “Let’s get into the whole reason we’re doing this in the first place.”
Hunter gave her a look, but she was focused on Caleb.
Caleb blinked to her and seemed to pause. His eyes widened.
“…Evelyn?” He asked.
 Eda blinked and leaned back.
“Um, what? No. Name’s Eda,” She said.
Caleb shook his head.
“Right, no of course not. My apologies. That had been a long time ago.”
The room sat in awkward silence for a moment.
“…anyways,” Eda continued, “The kid says you’ve been messing with stuff that happens around him. We don’t need you to throw wooden signs at anyone who gives Hunter the wrong look. Not that there’s anything wrong with defending him of course, but Hunter doesn’t want anyone hurt. Not more than they need to be,”
“Eda!” Hunter exclaimed.
“What?” She asked.
“Ah,” Caleb said. “I see. Perhaps you are unaware of the unfair things that man said about Hunter-“
“No, it’s not that,” Eda cut in. “I was there. I heard the jerk. But Hunter doesn’t want you throwing signs at people for him.”
Caleb frowned and crossed his arms.
“No one should mistreat him though,” Caleb said.
“I’m not disagreeing with you there,” Eda said, raising her hands. “But he doesn’t need every jerk to be hit in the face.”
“Why not?” Caleb asked.
“Were you this vengeful when you were alive?” Luz asked. Eda shot her a look, as though willing her not to get involved.
Caleb drew back a bit and thought.
“…I suppose not. I feel different now though. It’s not like turning to a more peaceful nature saved my life after all. I’m not going to let another innocent of my blood be taken down from my own inaction again,” Caleb said.
“I wouldn’t exactly say I’m innocent…” Hunter muttered.
“In every wrong thing that has been done to you, you are,” Caleb said firmly.
Amity sighed.
“There’s gotta be a way we can compromise here,” Amity said.
“How about this,” Luz started, “We are all protective of Hunter here as well. Maybe follow our lead for what he’s okay with?”
Caleb hmmed. “But sometimes none of you are there. That’s why I started acting in the first place.”
“Then do what we would do,” She said.
“How am I supposed to know that?” Caleb said, “I just met you all.”
“You could come get one of us then?” Willow suggested.
“But if I’m already there, I may need to act,” Caleb said. “After all, none of you noticed when Hunter was attacked across the street from the vendor stands.”
“You were attacked!?” Several of them exclaimed at Hunter at once.
Hunter winced at that.
“I wasn’t necessarily attacked. A large guy took my staff when I was distracted. Then his buddies restrained me so he could get away with it,” Hunter said.
“You are not easily subdued,” Raine said.
Hunter sighed. “Yeah, I know. The guy threatened to break the staff, and I guess I panicked.”
“See?” Caleb said. “I had to act quickly in that case.”
“Well, you definitely protected him well in that instance,” Darius gave him.
“Maybe you can at least agree to wait before doing anything unless Hunter is in any physical danger?” Eda suggested.
Caleb hmmed.
“Alright, I suppose that is fair enough to attempt,” Caleb said.
Hunter let out a breath of relief at that.
“Thank you, Caleb. I really appreciate it,” Hunter said.
Caleb nodded.
“Of course,” He said. “Thank you for believing in Hunter enough to let me be here,” Caleb said to the room.
They seemed a bit confused at that, but nodded nonetheless.
“If you don’t cause harm, there isn’t a reason you can’t be here,” Eda said.
And with that Caleb winked out. They all jumped.
“Is he ?” Amity started.
Hunter put his hand to the crystal pendant again and focused on the ghost.
Caleb?
“I’m still here.”
Hunter heard him whisper near his ear. Hunter looked in that direction but still didn’t see him.
“It just takes a lot of energy to appear to humans.”
“Ah,” Hunter said aloud. “Apparently it takes a lot of energy to appear to us.”
The group hmmed at that.
“Hopefully we’ll get to learn more about why that may be,” Willow said.
“Yeah,” Hunter agreed.
Hunter had a feeling everything wasn’t resolved yet. But at least this seemed like a start.

As someone involved in the star vs fandom it does kinda weird me out in terms of hunter and willow that ppl are making the “Can’t guys and girls just be friends” thing?
Like i have had that argument before, but it only really applies to very specific situations for me, like either a romance either feeling forced between the characters just to force one, or the show is extremely bad at presenting m/f friendships.
With star vs, and anyone who knows me knows how much i hated the romance subplot, that show had a nasty habit or just....making every single m/f friendship (That didn’t involve ponyhead but the fans didn’t care about her much anyway) romantically implied in some way or another?
star and marco
tom and star
kelly and marco
marco and jacke
Star and Oskar
janna and marco (Janna bullies him but also flirts in some scenes)
Marco and Hekapoo (But that’s a whole thing in itself)
Tom and Janna technically were one of the few that really didn’t have any explicit implications and even then they’re a popular crackship and the only reason they probably interacted in the show was because they were a popular crackship before that point.
Like Star vs is a flawed show and it has a lot of good from it i do still enjoy, but that show fails to really showcase healthy M/F friendships that either don’t turn romantic, have implications, or are actually healthy.
Even those you could argue for are ones with very little to work off of.
and there’s lines of dialogue even IN the show that seem to push this idea males and females can’t be friends, even if purely on accident. You’ll have scenes like jackie and marco be friends (Before the show ends so it doesn’t mean much), followed by tom telling star “She should date a best friend and she already has one”, unintentionally implying some pretty negative stuff. (Because she had ponyhead and in the beginning of the show she considered both her and marco to be her “Best friends” but tom ain’t implying she is somehow an opponent, so it comes off like it’s because he’s a guy and also feels unintentionally homophobic as a result).
even star and marco, the main friendship/ship in the series, failed to work for it’s own fans, for a multitude of reasons and bad writing that i can’t get into everything because we’d be here all day. But for a lot of people that relationship not only became toxic, but forced, as if the writers were trying to make you like it instead of making it feel natural as time went on.
And you can feel free to disagree on this with me, but i feel this is a far better example of “Why can’t girls and boys be friends?” then something like toh.
Toh doesn’t force every single guy and gal into some implied romance, the show is chock full of platonic friendships between girls and guys luz, willow and amity are friends with gus (more luz and willow), you have hooty and lilith become pals, hunter and luz are pretty strictly platonic in the show (Tho fans who ship them for fun are allowed to do so)...
even side friendships, steve and Lilith, viney with jerbo and barkus, hunter with both viney and skara, ect ect.
and most of these friendships are shown in extremely positive lights (Excluding ones such as bria with her two guy buds) without a ton of unhealthy implications.
These shows are not the same sure, and you could say it has a lot to do with star prioritizing the shipping over the plot and trying to cater to every ship over it’s own story, but the point i wanna make here is that i think it’s weird as hell to claim hunter and willow is “Taking away from male and female friendships” in a series that doesn’t even have many m/f onscreen romances to begin with?
Pretty much all M/F couples in toh are like....side couples who don’t get much in terms of screentime, outside of alador and odalia (And we see how that went down).
Like maybe if we’re lucky we’ll get something for caleb and his witch lover in s3 or possible future content (Maybe even camila and luz’s dad?), but willow and hunter are the only real prominent romance between a girl and boy on this show?
So this whole argument feels silly to me.
You can def not personally care for them to have a romance, but the idea that this show is pushing the idea “Men and woman can’t be friends” is not only wrong, but extremely strange for a series where they are the only prime example of a healthy one in the show.
Because i have seen shows who do this poorly, and i think it should come up when appropriate, and not simply because you personally just don’t like m/f romances or want them.
F/m romances can still be good ones when well written, and huntlow as a ship is still representation and clearly makes some people feel very seen.
We absolutely could benefit from m/f friendships who don’t turn romantic in more shows and movies, but toh is not really doing much of that and this criticism should not apply to them.
Because if they were pushing that idea, this show would probably not be as good as it is.

👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨Relationship observations pt. II💘
Hello guys!! In honor of Valentine’s day here’s a part II of one of the posts you loved the most which is relationship observations. This one is pretty long which is what you guys preferred. Hope you like it!
Credit: Tumblr blog @astrobydalia
💘 People with pisces ASC/moon/venus, Venus in the 12th and Neptune in the 7th or conjunct the ASC-DSC axis: it’s so SO easy to make them feel guilty. The type of people to easily feel like it’s their fault when others mistreat them and bc of this they could be more prone to attracting abusive people and narcissists
💘 Also, nobody talks about this and I understand why bc Neptune can be very tricky planet but I think it’s worth mentioning that Neptune is a very spiritual planet that represents unconditional love and therefore can mean true love or a real soul connection so the ruler of the 7th house making an aspect to Neptune, Neptune in the 7th, Juno in the 12th, 12th house synastry etc. can mean true love and a real soul connection in marriage. HOWEVER true love and a real soul connection feeling can often be confused with delusions which is why this planet gets such bad press in relatioships and remember 12th house a lot of times is karma so PLEASE be careful
💘 Venus ruling the 7th, venus in the 7th or Venus aspecting the ruler of the 7th indicates a strong desire to marry for love. Very possible that the person won’t marry unless it’s for love. This also indicates good marriage life
💘 If you don’t have this it of course doesn’t mean you won’t marry for love or won’t marry at all so don’t worry. What I’ve seen in people who don’t have this is they are quite independent when it comes to relationships, they don’t mind getting married but they don’t mind not getting married or staying single either. While people who do have this Venus influence could be low-key obsessed with getting married or having a commitment/relationship
💘 Mercury ruling the 7th, mercury in the 7th or Mercury aspecting the ruler of the 7th indicates marring someone that is funny, someone you can always joke around with
💘 Don’t overlook Chiron in synastry. The house where someone else’s Chiron falls in your own chart could be where you feel like this person is a pain in the ass or where this person will help you achieve great potential
💘 Check Chiron in composite too, it represents where you may feel like you can never agree on or where you often agree to disagree
💘 Once you gain the trust of someone with Taurus Venus they are the absolute SWEETEST people ever
💘 Libra Venus love getting ready for someone special
💘 Check the ascendant in your Juno persona chart, it has some significance as to the energy around you meeting your spouse similar to a composite rising but more subtle energy. For ex. one of my friends has gemini rising in her Juno persona chart and she met her husband when we were in high school when she was about to be picked up by car and she was also holding books in her hands and when she saw him he was with his brother.
💘 The rising in the Juno persona chart also indicates appearance or overall vibe of spouse. For ex the husband of this friend I just told you previously (Gemini rising in her Juno pesona chart) has a very youthful and boyish vibe almost like a teenager he’s also very witty
>>>The actual composite rising you end up having with your spouse or the natal rising sign of your spouse doesn’t have to be the same as the rising of your Juno persona chart. I’ve seen this actually happening before but it doesn’t have to be
💘 In 4th house synastry specially with sun/moon/rising/venus, the house person will naturally see the planet person as a parent or a potential parent. Meaning, somehow the house person “judges” the planet person by deliberating how they’d be as a parent. With this overlay the house person naturally takes care of the needs of the planet person (said needs will be determined by the planet and sign in question) and that’s why the planet person will inevitably see the house person as a good potential parent
💘 There are lots of placements and asteroids that indicate your sexual turn ons but I think that the most potent ones are Lilith, Eros, your 8th house and the ruler of the 8th house. I’ve noticed that these represent specially erogenous zones for you and parts of the body you’re specially attracted to (aside from your kinks and stuff). For example Cancer: breast or nipple, Gemini: lips or hands, Taurus: waist and neck, Leo: hair or back, Sagittarius: hips or thighs etc.
💘 Mars can represent this too but what I’ve seen is that your mars represents more so HOW you like to have sex. It mostly represents how you like to physically approach the sexual act
💘 8th house represents your sex style, the overall vibe or attitude you want in the sexual act. For ex you may like being dominant during sex with mars in Capricorn but want the sexual act to feel emotional and vulnerable with Cancer in the 8th or raw and fiery with Aries in the 8th
💘 Also, your 8th house is EVERYTHING when it comes to feeling satisfied sexually regardless of your kinks and turn ons. If you have sex that checks all the boxes for all your kinks/turn ons but doesn’t match up with your 8th house energy you will likely end up feeling low-key unsatisfied
💘 Couples with their moons in sister signs (or opposing moons) are either the perfect couple or a fucking disaster
💘 In my opinion, Sun-Moon, Sun-Sun or Moon-moon contacts in synastry are essential for a relationship to work out or last
💘 People with Juno retrograde are the MOST cautious when it comes to marriage, they could be a bit picky and often give the impression they’re not interested in commitment at all specially if it’s placed in Aquarius it gives huge Mr./Mrs Independent vibes
💘 Juno in a water sign gives player vibes, they are the type jump from person to person and likely have a long history of flings and flirting. These people have dated around A LOT and will only commit to that one person that truly manages to capture their heart deeply
💘 Juno in a fire sign are the type of people that wanna marry their crush two weeks or even days into meeting them. They often mistake “attraction at first sight” for “love at first sight”. The second they feel they have real good chemistry with someone they think it’s the love of their life
💘 Juno in an Air sign people need to feel like they really click with someone and they will want to commit only after really getting to know the person. They fall in love with the person’s mind first. They can easily un-crush someone in a second if they don’t like the person’s mind
💘 Juno in an Earth sign people are the most coutios when it comes to commitment. They migh deliberately delay marriage just to be SURE they are getting a reliable future and wanna be certain that it’s the absolute right time
💘 Before starting with the composite observations, you should know that synastry is the dynamic between two people but composite represents what the relationship really is, so that’s why on this post I’m focusing on composite
💘 I’ve noticed that the 2nd house in a composite chart indicates the “glue” or foundation of the relationship, its stability. Mars in this house could create a relationship based on sex for example, Venus a relationship based on love and affection, Saturn a relationship based on stability and compromise etc.
💘 4th house and moon in the composite represents the depths of the relationship. How you guys feel deep down about each other, how you make each other feel. This part of your relationship shows specially when you get true and honest with what are your real feelings
💘 Aquarius or Uranus in the 4th house, Aquarius moon or Moon conjunct Uranus in the composite creates a whole deal of emotional detachment for each other. Could be very emotionally cold to each other and one or both could see the other as insensitive specially if one of them has natal water or fire moon
💘 Aquarius Sun or risings in the composite however is huge best friend vibes regardless of the nature of the relationship. Moon conjunction Uranus can also get away with giving this vibe
💘 Virgos and Scorpios naturally find each other because they tend to have composite Sun in Libra :) So that togetherness and companionship energy is natural for them
💘 Aries moon in the composite chart is that type of relationship where any insult actually means “I love you”. Is that type of dynamic where one’s like “I love you, stupid bitch” and the other goes “🥰🥰” and then they both laugh
💘 Pisces moon in the composite is cute but also a bit tricky if afflicted, the couple could constantly feel they have to watch themselves in order to not hurt or offend the other, like constantly walking on eggshells. Needless to say also these relationships are very intuitive, if one or both are lying or hidding something (which often happens with this placement I’ve seen), the other just KNOWS
💘 Saturn in the 7th in the composite is very good aspect for staying together long-term but it can also mean that the couple is for some reason “forced” to be together or to see each other. They come together due to circumstances and not necessarily by choice (Saturn represents responsibilities, burdens or obligations). You have to look for indicators of love and romance otherwise it’s gonna be a relationship that stays together but more out of duty than real love
💘 Juno in the 4th house in the composite (specially conjunct some planet) is more indicative of marriage (or loyalty/compromise) than Juno in the 1st
💘 Vesta exactly conjunct South Node in the composite creates a STRONG soul-mate feeling and great devotion. These relationships are so long lasting the type where you just know you’re gonna be together your entire life
💘 Chiron in the 1st in the composite chart = feeling uncomfortable with each other, like you’re incompatible or like you don’t click together at all. Can also create a “can’t be together” vibe but not in a platonic Pisces way it’s more like there’s some incompatibility that can’t be salvaged and “stops” the couple from meeting/coming together or the relationship from taking place at least at first. Basically the relationship feels broken before even starting. The sign Chiron is in gives insight as to what’s the nature of this incompatibility.
💘 Saturn in the 8th in the composite = reluctance to have sex, one might have been sexually rejected by the other
💘 Chiron in the 10th in the composite = you don’t like working with this person. I have this with one of my best friends, we tried to run an IG page together and it was a disaster lmao
💘 Sun and maybe Venus in the 10th house in the composite indicates your relationship is source of gossip or at the very least everybody knows about your relationship
💘 If a composite planet or point falls in your natal 10th house then the relationship might affect your reputation
💘 The most harmonious and the most healthy relationships I’ve seen had empty 7th house empty 12th and empty 8th house in the composite. Literally 0 drama, 0 tensions, 0 codependency and surprisingly unbreakable (supported by other aspects of course)
💘 With that said the number 1 best house for synastry or composite in my opinion and based on what I have seen is the 9th house both friendship and relationship, also the 5th, 4th, 2nd, 11th, 3rd
💘 People who have your DSC sign as their moon sign will strike you quite strongly. Not necessarily their moon falling in your 7th or conjunct the DSC (tho this is stronger) I’ve seen that the fact that someone has your DSC sign as their moon sign is enough to create a little “crush” feeling or you feel like you can’t hate that person bc may see them as cute.
💘 The people I’ve seen that have gone through a harsh divorce mostly had in their natal chart: North Node in the 7th, Chiron in the 7th house, Saturn rx in the 7th house, Jupiter Square Uranus and planets or angles in Aquarius degrees (11°, 23°) specially if Venus or Moon are in these degrees or conjunct a planet that is in these degrees. These indicators can apply to breaking up a long-term relationship, breaking an engagement, etc. except probably Jupiter square Uranus. This one is particularly a divorce aspect specially in women’s charts. Also, side note, if Pluto or Uranus are involved, these people may have a devastating divorce or breakup
💘 Composite planets in the composite 12th house can create a feeling like the relationship has an expiration date. One or both people are for some reason constantly anxious that the relationship might end. If they stay feeding these energy they’ll likely have a self-fulfilling prophecy
💘 Pisces rising in the composite makes for a very psychic bond. Could be the type of relationship where you’re thinking and wondering about them and boom they suddenly text you. These people are usually there for each other bc they intuitively know when to be
💘 This is probably a no-brainer but many life-long friendships I’ve seen had stelliums or planets in the 5th house-11th house axis or the 3rd house-9th house axis of the composite
💘 With Leo rising in the composite I’ve noticed these people always have very funny stories to tell about stuff they’ve been through and lived together. There’s a lot of “remember when...” followed by loud laughter.
💘 North north node in the composite 5th house is a great placement
💘 6th house placements in the composite and synastry creates a dynamic where the two people and the relationship itself ends up feeling extremely predictable. The couple may find one specific routine or activity they like doing together or they always find themselves doing the same 3 activities every time they are together. This can be good or bad depending on what you want in a relationship, some people find it extremely boring or understamulating and others prefer it because it gives them a sense of stability or reliability
💘 Moon conjunct Chiron in composite is indicative of a healing relationship

The Sun Signs
Hi guys! So I decided to make a series. I’m going to do: each sign in each planet, each house placement for every planet, and the aspects for all the planets. This of course is going to be over the course of a month; it’s going to take a while to cover everything LMAO. I’m thinking of doing this and alternating between asteroids, “placements that make people ____”, and astrology observations. Without further ado, here’s my take on the sun signs based off of people I know:
🪁 Aries: These people are go-getters and know what they want when they want it. I feel like a lot of people associate Aries with being extroverts because they’re a fire sign, but I know ALOT of Aries and 95% of them have been shy. It’s more of the Aries moons that I’ve noticed that have been more extroverted. However other aspects in your chart can determine this. They’re also extremely competitive and very hard workers. Every Aries I’ve ever met has worked their ass off, and they keep working their asses off until they perfect everything. Some negatives are that Aries people can be super dramatic as well, and don’t take other people’s advice. Even when they ask for it, if their mind is set on something, there’s no going back.
🪁 Taurus: Boy oh boy, do these people just want to go on a 10 year vacation and not have to deal with anyone ever again. These people love the finer things in life; they most likely have a creative hobby or have a creative streak. They also love good food and they love a good nap. Now everyone says Tauruses are super chill, and honestly, it depends on other aspects in their chart. I’ve known super chill Tauruses and super chaotic Tauruses. I’ve noticed the chaotic Tauruses have a lot of Aries energy in their chart i.e. Aries Mercury and Aries Mars (no offense Aries). I’d say a downside of Tauruses is that they can be lazy because they love to relax (however this depends on other aspects) and they can be apathetic a lot. I’ve found that Tauruses can very much disconnect themselves from a situation when they have to, so they can keep calm and grounded.
🪁 Gemini: These people are social and will talk for hours. I don’t mean this in a bad way. Even the more introverted Geminis, once you get to know them they will talk for days especially about things they’re passionate about. I think it’s a cute and endearing trait. A lot of people hate on Geminis, but I don’t get it. One of my best friends is a Gemini, and she’s the most genuine person I’ve ever met. In fact, most Geminis I’ve met have not been two-faced, at least from my experience. I think that Geminis are also very funny, every Gemini I’ve met has made me laugh my ass off. Every single one. They have a great sense of humor and a very engaging personality. You can see this with Gemini politicians, they’re very charismatic and know how to entertain a crowd. I’d say the more negative side of Gemini is that they can be very flighty about what they want and while they’re social, they’re not always the best communicators when it comes to interpersonal relationships.
🪁 Cancer: I’ve found that Cancers are either extremely extroverted or extremely introverted; and this can change depending on their mood LMAO. I can speak from experience; I am a Cancer. Sometimes I feel like being social and talking; other times I hate people and I just don’t wanna deal with them. Cancers also always have a softness to them; even if they have a lot of fire energy. I don’t know how to describe it other than they just look like water itself. I’d say some obvious downsides of Cancer are that they can be extremely moody and they can be snippy. If you catch them in the wrong mood, they’ll snap at you. I’m guilty of this as well.
🪁 Leo: Again, a lot of people don’t like Leos but I love them. The Leos I’ve met have not been self centered at all- in fact they’re the exact opposite. Perhaps it’s the underdeveloped Leo suns who are self-centered, but all the ones I’ve met have always put others before themselves. They’re not cocky at all. I’ve also found that Leos all have really nice hair; this is a stereotype that’s definitely true. I’ve never met a Leo with bad hair. I’ve also found that they’re super creative and even if they don’t have a creative hobby, they have a creative flair. They’re also REALLY funny. I feel like they’re definitely slept on in terms of funny placements. This is the sign that rules “performing” in a way, so of course they’re going to be entertaining.
🪁 Virgo: My favorite sign. I love all the signs in their own way, but Virgo is my favorite. Every single Virgo I’ve met I’ve loved. I get along so well with them. Virgos are shit on for being critical but it’s because they know that the people in question can achieve so much. Virgos also save that critical energy for themselves and can tear themselves apart if they’re not perfect. These people are also always putting others before themselves and always try to help everyone. Remember the 6th house rules one’s sense of usefulness. They feel that if they’re not being useful in some way to people that they’re not good enough. I literally just want to hug every Virgo. Also they’re not boring at all. FOH. Virgos are literally so much fun.
🪁 Libra: These people are just so likable. No matter what they do, you just tend to like them for some reason. They can adapt to any type of personality and they have a way of making everyone like them. This is why Libra suns tend to be popular; they’re very bubbly and sociable. Even if they’re not popular, they’re well-liked. However, this can be their downfall as well. They can be superficial and fake. They tend to flip flop in arguments alot, and they try to play on both sides which can create more tension between two people. Also, have you ever seen a Libra try to make a decision? LMAO. Love them though.
🪁 Scorpio: Your eyes. Holy fuck. You can tell if someone is a Scorpio just by the gaze in their eyes. They stare into your fucking soul. Even if their eyes are a light color, there’s always a sense of mystery and darkness to them. Despite this sense of power they give off, once you get to know them they’re literally the biggest teddy bears. Literally just go up to one and talk to them, they’ll talk to you and be all nice and happy. I’ve noticed that Scorpios just don’t like to talk about their emotions or what goes on in their heads either. They like to look strong and they don’t show their vulnerable side to just anybody. This would be one of their downfalls. They have a hard time being vulnerable and letting people in. They look fierce, but they’re sweet and just want a hug.
🪁 Sagittarius: The funniest people ever. I’ve never met a non-funny Sagittarius. I work with two of them and they have me in tears laughing. They’re also very smart and you can talk to them about anything. Even if they don’t get the best grades in school (which I rarely see, the Valedictorian and the Salutatorian were both Sagittariuses) they always have a base knowledge about everything. They’re also extremely chill and try not to take life too seriously. I’ve found that a downside of this placement is that they can be very flighty in love. They have a hard time settling down which can be difficult for someone who wants to date them. Sagittariuses crave independence and they’re usually not the relationship types. Also they have a hard time taking things seriously.
🪁 Capricorns: My guilty pleasure. I’ve dated two of them and 75% of the people I’ve liked were Capricorn suns. I feel like people overlook the appeal of Capricorns. Scorpios are the “sexy” ones, but have you seen how attractive Capricorns can be? Remember, in Tarot, the Devil rules Capricorn, so they can be devilishly handsome or darkly beautiful. Even if they’re not the most attractive person in the room, they have an aura to them that’s intriguing. They speak softly and carry a big stick. They don’t have to impress anyone; they know that they’re powerful. I’d say some downsides to Capricorns are that they have a hard time expressing their emotions and they tend to shove them down; which can result in them exploding later on. They also have a tendency to be arrogant, and can dish it out, but they can’t take it.
🪁 Aquariuses: My second guilty pleasure. I just love the Saturn energy, what can I say? Aquariuses are such lovable weirdos. I don’t know how else to describe them. Every single one I’ve met has been unique in some way and they don’t try to fit in either. They’re proud of being different. My boss is an Aquarius and I felt self conscious one day because I had a different color shirt on than everyone else and he told me “Why would you want to fit in when you could stand out?”. They’re those types of people. They’re also really funny as well, their minds just work so differently from everyone else. They’ll say the most outlandish things and you’ll die laughing. Some downsides? You could know them for years and you’ll just find out things about them. They don’t share things about themselves and it’s hard to get to know them. They also can be very emotionally cold. They don’t like emotions.
🪁 Pisces: Softies. They’re literally soft teddy bears. No matter how big or tall or muscular they could get, you just look into their eyes and that softness is there. They’re really sweet and tend to be more introverted. They aren’t the types who go out of their way to talk to strangers at a party. They love comfort and they like to feel secure. They’re also very dreamy if that makes sense. They always look like they came out of a fantasy world. I’d say a major downside would be that they’re overly sensitive. They cannot take a joke. I remember I was telling my co worker who’s a Pisces about the negative traits of Pisces and one of them was lazy; and he got SO offended. He was like “I am NOT lazy.” LMAO.
Also guys, as I’ve said, other things in your natal chart can affect these traits. For the next asteroid by the way, I’m between asteroid Bellona and Lilith. Which one would you guys want to see? I’ve been getting a lot of questions about those two. :)

A Lesson in Love - A “Character Analysis” on Asmodeus
I had to come for the tracks, wigs, and weaves of bitches when Pomade dropped because I saw people talking shit about my boy. This was a milestone “project” or “reward” I guess?
I hit 400 followers today while I was out running errands!!! Thank you guys SO SO MUCH for the love and support! I can’t WAIT to produce more content for everyone!!!
Below the cut there WILL BE talk of season 3, as well as some talk of chapter 16. There’s a healthy amount of theorizing on his personality as well, I hope you don’t mind! This came out more like a plea to get people to change their minds about how Asmo really is, rather than a comprehensive essay of sorts. So here we go!
Tumblr media
There’s something we apparently still need to talk about in this fanbase. The unrealistic idea of Asmodeus being a sex freak, and an unreliable person in general despite there being little proof of it. We need to set a few things straight about Asmo moving forward.
December 25th rolled around and Asmo’s audio drama and song were released. I take it everyone enjoyed both parts, as well as I did. My timeline both on twitter and tumblr were filled with Asmodeus content, as well as the other brothers and such. But I mostly got Asmo content. However, in peeks and cracks, if I looked hard enough, I still saw people who absolutely loathed Asmo or who were indifferent to him. Keep in mind; I think it’s okay. You don’t have to like everyone.
I’ve only joined the fanbase in September, but even I could tell some of these takes were old fashioned. I downloaded the game on October 17th, a very important anniversary for me, while I
was still in bed in the morning. I blazed through the entire story of season 1 and now I am stuck in season 2, specifically in Chapter 24. I obviously don’t have every card of Asmodeus with his Devilgrams, but I have been analyzing his character over the past few days for this.
So needless to say, I have a considerable amount of information on him, as well as personal thoughts that may help some learn to love him. Or at the very least, from spreading a negative idea of him around as if it were true. Enough that should help clear his name, so to speak.
Let’s look at his title; Avatar of Lust. Now naturally the thoughts that come to your head are sex and other sexual bits. So I can understand how some people would come to the conclusion that he’s just a sex freak. But if you look under the surface of his title, like I’m sure you’ve had to for your own personal favorites (*cough* Lucifer, Belphie, and Satan ESPECIALLY) you would discover that Asmodeus is more than just about sex. In fact, sex takes up very little of his pass time, if you were to believe it!
In recent chapters, as I’ve been told, Asmodeus doesn’t really get around much anyways:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Granted, this was said while in Celestia, but I imagine not much has changed for him since his fall, as well as his brothers.
Not really comfortable being with just anyone, huh…? Sounds like someone who doesn’t have sex so warily often as you’d think!
Being lustful can come in many shapes and forms. It can be merely in appearance, which Asmo is not afraid of doing. He’s very comfortable about skinship and it’s very apparent in how he dresses and acts that he wants you to adore his body. To worship it! Maybe not sexually, but aesthetically! Being lustful can mean just thinking about sex or sexual scenarios often, which if you take a peek at Asmo’s chat’s either with you or his brothers, is very apparent too.
Personally, I believe that people would assume he is not good in a relationship because he would have a “cheating problem”. I don’t think Asmo is a monster, just like I don’t think any of the brothers are monsters. They may be demons (technically fallen angels) now but they used to be angels too. Their falling out with their Father doesn’t mean they’ve completely abandoned morality, it was a rebellion for Lilith’s right to live. Not for them to sin as they pleased. For all we know they might have been fine in Heaven otherwise! (with the exception of Lucifer.)
A monster knows right from wrong and chooses evil anyways. An ignorant person doesn’t know right from wrong. Asmodeus is not a monster, nor is he ignorant.
When Asmo genuinely loves you, I think he would take steps to calm down that side of him, if it were to exist. Lust is fairly limited, but it is a part of love to some extent. LOVE is vastly different. Love has many languages, and they aren’t all spoken either. For me, personally, I found that Lucifer’s love language can be either very direct, or roundabout so as to not let it go to your head, for an example. Asmo is just far more direct about his care for you.
I feel as though Asmo gets a lot of crap constantly for his presumed nature and because we don’t get to see much else of him at first, especially in season 1, his impression on us sort of stays. With most of the fanbase either somewhat new to the game or somewhere lost in the sea of the difficulty curve that is season 2, we can only assume based on what we’ve seen, and what others have headcanoned about him.
Let’s break and talk about Satan for a moment; this is going somewhere.
I’m led to believe that Satan can control his sin fairly well. He’s easy to get irritated, sure, but he isn’t as much of a walking ball of rage as I suspected. I would argue that, aside from Leviathan, Satan can handle his sin the best out of the brothers. But again, we’re forgetting about Asmo. The Avatar of “Lust”. Like I’ve shown before, he doesn’t really sleep around a lot, according to anon.
At worst, Asmo being flirty is through text and he’s not actively trying to sleep with you. It can be interpreted that way, but for me personally, it comes down to having a friend that is very up close and in your personal space.
(I myself am one of these types of people. Having ADHD, my social cues are always sort of off, and I’ve struggled with coping with it for years. With my best friend, we have seen each other naked countless times and have slept in the same bed as well. We were never romantic with each other. We were just very comfortable being close and personal with each other.)
I’d like to point out also that Asmo isn’t even there for most of season 1 too. Which can give you the idea that maybe he just was out sleeping around a lot, but to me he probably just went out partying a lot. You don’t get known that fast for sleeping around. Maybe in 5,000 years, sure, but I’d imagine being a party boy, as his Devilgram “Guided by Desire” suggests.
Tumblr media
So the idea that Asmo isn’t in the house a lot because he’s out having sex all the time isn’t true is it? He’s probably just out partying, which can LEAD to sex with someone sure, but again, Asmo doesn’t feel comfortable doing that, now does he?
I feel like of all the boys, Asmo is the one who radiates with everyone else the most. Most people will never realize how surreal it is that Asmo is faking it until he makes it. He doesn’t always think he’s beautiful, or that he’s worth all the love he’s striving and straining to get. Something that is extremely relatable for a lot of people with self-worth issues. Asmo is just like that, but instead being sarcastic and self-deprecating, he simply works to make himself look as beautiful as possible, so that in his eyes, his beauty matches the affection he gets.
Which is why, when he falls in love with you, it’s strange. You are constantly telling him he’s nice and pretty, but you aren’t lusting after him. You’re just being nice. It may just be me, but when people are overly nice just for the sake of being nice, I’m very attracted to that. That is Asmo, to some extent. The fact that he reflects the insecurities and habits of others so clearly may make others uncomfortable, but that brutal honesty veiled behind insecurity is what a lot of people with self-image issues deal with.
Now for me to share my favorite personal idea for Asmo that completely changed how I saw him in season 1 onwards; Asmodeus is an empath. Now let me explain:
First, what is an Empath?
The term empath comes from empathy, which is the ability to understand the experiences and feelings of others outside of your own perspective. Seems simple, right? Everyone can do this to some extent. However, what makes you an empath is the fact that empaths genuinely feel the same pain as you do. So much so your experience becomes a very personal part of their own. They are capable of being able to feel other people’s emotions without them speaking, or even showing signs of it through their body language.
This would explain, for me personally, why there’s so little of him in season 1. The intensity of what goes on in the house, his sensitive soft-spoken mannerisms, the only time he truly gets mad is when he’s childishly arguing with Mammon? Asmo is afraid of true conflict, he’s afraid of violence and negative emotions. Let’s face it; everyone is indifferent or hates you at the start of the game.
While this changes fairly quickly, all the intense feelings come to a head in chapter 16. All those negative emotions swirling around, of course Asmo isn’t going to want to be in the house when it’s that intense. The attic didn’t just disappear completely, too. Belphie was still in the attic hating humans. That negative emotion could be affecting Asmo and he didn’t know why, so he could have been out of the house more.
Where Asmo can feel the emotions of others, it may mostly be the negative ones because they fill him with anxiety and panic if it persists. Which can be helpful in making him so urgent to want to make others smile and feel better, right?
Imagine being intimate with Asmodeus, and suddenly you aren’t in the mood for it anymore but don’t want to make things awkward. He could pick up on it in an instant and wouldn’t get mad because he understands how you feel completely.
Now to close this out about something that genuinely hurts me; Asmodeus is a narcissist.
I mean, the wiki says that he is, but personally? No, no he isn’t. Since when is loving yourself a bad thing? Sure he may go a bit far sometimes, but people with self-image issues need to go a little harder than the rest to make sure they're getting the love they need.
(Talking about myself AGAIN, but I do this a lot. At random, I will look up in my own mirror in front of my desk that I sit in front of all day and tell myself I am a cute bitch. I am VERY VERY cute and anyone would be lucky to have someone as drop dead gorgeous as myself. I say that a few times a day. In reality, I am very insecure about my looks. I do believe I’m cute, but sometimes it’s hard to say it. Which is why I force myself. Why wouldn’t Asmo do the same?)
Talking yourself up to be as beautiful as a sex god is no easy task, but Asmo isn’t the Avatar of “Lust” for no reason. When an insecure girl talks up her beauty, it’s her being strong and independent. When Asmo does it, its narcissism… it doesn’t really seem fair, now does it? Maybe he’s just an insecure person who needs to tell himself ALL THE TIME that he’s beautiful. That if he stares at his reflection long enough, he may see it too.
(Also, Simeon literally calls him out on being insecure. Insecure people tend to try and overcompensate where they feel they’re lacking.)
”Asmodeus is hinted to be insecure and seeking for love and attention. When Simeon was asked about what he thought of Asmodeus, he says that Asmodeus is still trying to fulfill the role of the angel he used to be; an angel that was adored and loved by many. Asmodeus laughs at Simeon's remark and brushes it off by saying that he is only jealous.” - A section from said Asmodeus Wiki.
People can choose to love or hate Asmo, obviously. Making things up about his character without having anything but speculation and having that dictate how he acts is plain silly. This entire “essay” if you can call it that, comes from the heart. I love Asmo as a character, and in the beginning he did make me uncomfortable, I didn’t like him that much. But I learned to look past that and figure out why he acts the way he does. Something didn’t sit right with me about him for a while, and it was that air of insecurity that I didn’t see at first.
All I can really ask for, is giving Asmo another chance as a character. He’s not as wild and wacky as Mammon, or as cool and sexy as Lucifer, or as edgy and precious as Belphie, but he matters in this story too. He fell from grace with his brothers for Lilith. Give him another chance, and let him show you that he is the Avatar of Love.

Let’s talk about DiaLuci.
Look, this isn’t a judgement call. This is merely a flat out explanation and something that should be recognized. There will be a few S2-3 spoilers, but it’s mainly vague, not going into details.
Be aware: This covers sensitive topics regarding the ship, toxic behaviors, abusive relationships, and the angel event.
Firstly, if you support DiaLuci, good for you! I’m not here to shame someone for their ships. But this fandom has a habit of attacking others who aren’t so fond of this ship. Someone can like Diavolo, and not support Dialuci. You can support Lucifer, and not like Dialuci. Or hell, you could dislike either/or both characters and fucking love the ship! No matter which character or ship you like or dislike, you are completely valid.
But this is a post, about the issues with the ship that I personally see, and why it should be more outspoken.
Now lets get to the point of the subject, shall we?
I fairly like Diavolo. He’s charming, joyous, and someone who would be the star of a party. Someone cheerful and bright. However, the way that this fandom persecutes anyone who doesn’t like Diavolo or feels uncomfortable around him is not ok.
In my opinion, Diavolo has shown signs of immature and insensitive behavior. I.e. the way he treats others like toys. Yes, he cares about them, but often doesn’t consider their feelings in things he considers ‘mere pranks.’ This may be because Barbatos constantly assures him that the future will be fine, since Barbatos can manipulate and choose timelines.
He wants the best for the people around him, but doesn’t exactly take criticism or resistance to his advances kindly. “Well duh, he’s a ruler!” So? Yes, he’s a ruler, but that doesn’t mean he should be inconsiderate about others around him. The fact that he disregards others opinions unless it fits his agenda, is a sign of his childishness.
Which means, that over time, Diavolo doesn’t hold much regard to his actions, as Barbatos is always there to catch him. Now that doesn’t mean he constantly is reckless. When it comes to official Devildom matters, Diavolo is an apt ruler, who makes decisions for the Devildom’s best interests.
The problem is, no one has told Diavolo about his less than savory behavior. Because they fear him, and fear the punishments he could inflict upon them. So I can’t really say that he’s a completely bad character.
He wants Lucifer to be his equal, and acknowledge the fact that Diavolo sees him as an equal. Diavolo’s lonely, and it’s explicitly stated as so. He envies the closeness the brothers have. So, he goes about it in the only way he knows how. Which we’ll get to a bit later.
As for Lucifer, I can’t deny I’m quite fond of him. He does his best to overcome his pride for MC, and gradually (in S2-3), he becomes more open with his feelings. Yes, he’s a deeply flawed character, but he’s not a complete villain. The world simply isn’t as black and white as some would like it to be.
Yes, his relationship with some of his brothers is toxic. The way he treats Mammon at times is unacceptable, and possibly abusive in my opinion. The fact that he acts cold and distant to his brothers at times isn’t ok. But one thing I’ve seen others overlook, is that Lucifer is the Avatar of Pride. Does this excuse his actions? No. Does it explain some of his habits? Yes.
Don’t get me wrong, he still has a lot to work on. But he’s getting there, and actively trying to get better.
Now for the ship.
You do not need to like a ship, just because a character from that ship is constantly seen with the partner. Like I’ve said above, you can hate or love Diavolo or Lucifer, and dislike/like the ship.
As for the oath, I won’t delve too deep into this, as it would take essays upon essays worth of information. But we all know that, Diavolo had given Lucifer an ultimatum. Save Lilith, at the cost of Lucifer’s unquestionable loyalty.
Which as we’ve seen, Lucifer had agreed to the terms. And so, he is now Diavolo’s most trusted advisor, his right hand man.
Even though Diavolo says or implies that he sees Lucifer as an equal. He doesn’t always seem to show it. The power imbalance in between both characters is evident, throughout the plot of the story. If Lucifer denies Diavolo’s advances, Diavolo will continue. Why?
Well, you could argue that his behavior is due to him being royalty. Which is true, he’s royalty, and has never been told no. Barbatos has always been there, fixing his mess, so why would he need to worry?
Diavolo praises Lucifer, in a manner that is clearly uncomfortable to the latter. It’s evident that Lucifer despises being praised for his beauty, and just his looks. I’ve seen blogs see it as ‘just a joke’ or ‘being playful’. But time and time again, Lucifer has denied these advances, very obviously disliking the attention and focus on his looks.
But Diavolo continues, and in his defense, you could say, ‘because Lucifer doesn’t say that he’s uncomfortable!’. It’s very obvious that Lucifer isn’t an equal to Diavolo, no matter how much the latter insists he is. We’ve seen Diavolo brush off other’s discomfort at his actions, and we’ve seen him continue.
Diavolo is not evil. This is quite clear, even though he may be suspicious to some. However, his relationship tactics and methods of relationships have toxic, and quite possibly abusive effects.
For example. The angel event.
We all know, that the bangles controlled the 7 avatars, turning them all into angels. Their outfits, and minds, were taken over. The brothers, (excluding Satan.) had gone through traumatic events in these outfits, that’s for sure.
The celestial war, and losing Lilith, all were incredibly traumatizing events forever affecting their mindsets from that day forward. The bangles attempted to brain wash them, and we can see it when Satan states that he doesn’t feel like himself, that he felt calm.
But you might think, “But being calm is great! Isn’t that what he always wantd?’. Not quite.. All Satan had known before was wrath, and being calm completely took away an important part of him. Even though Satan had always resented his wrath, his sin, he had felt like a part of himself was miserable without it. He wasn’t himself, and felt as if he were being forced to be calm, something he loathes.
In all of the brothers, we can see that they are clearly distressed, and may come out of this situation traumatized.
Lucifer is no exception. We saw how visibly upset he was, the fact that the snow-white wings on his back gave him a constant reminder of the war and Lilith, throughout the entire ordeal.
What was Diavolo doing this entire time? He was being provided entertainment, and reveled the sight before him. He enjoyed seeing the brothers in their angelic uniforms, where they had fought with tooth and nail for their sister, and who knows what else. He enjoyed the fact that the brothers were having angelic ideals forced inside their heads.
And when someone speaks up against him? He’s passive aggressive about it, until the person opposing him gives up, begs for forgiveness, or embarrasses themselves.
While criticism of any of the characters is deemed valid and peachy in this fandom. I haven’t seen any criticism of Diavolo that wasn’t met with backlash and intense hounding. Lucifer, Satan, Belphegor, have all been criticized, but has the majority really deemed those opinions as invalid? No. We can all see why those arguments are valid, and people have their own reasons.
Hell, we’ve all seen people Lucifer left and right. And you know what? They’re completely valid! Some people may have triggers/squicks in regards to his behavior, and it’s completely understandable.
But the moment someone criticized Diavolo, we see fighting and targeting. The person who speaks up gets pushed down and insulted, until they either give up, or agree. If you like Diavolo, good for you, you’re valid! If you don’t, you’re completely valid!
Now back to the ship. Apologies for getting off topic, but oftentimes, when Diavolo and Lucifer are mentioned separately, they’re roped together.
Abusive/toxic relationships aren’t always one where the abusive/toxic partner is an outright terrible person. Oftentimes, they come with charm, a dazzling smile, and friends that would fight tooth and nail for them.
Diavolo has Lucifer in an....uncomfortable position to say the least. In power dynamics, that is. Lucifer is constantly embarrassed publicly and privately by compliments, and Diavolo knows this. He’s demeaned by the oath, and as for work, Diavolo often adds to it, just for fun. I.e, leaving the Devildom to come to the human world, leaving his responsibilities behind.
“But he’s lonely!” Yes, and? He is lonely, yes, but there is a time and place for fun, and time and place for work. He is going to become a King, and if he puts all this responsibility and stress on Lucifer, it simply isn’t right.
They have their good moments, but that absolutely does not make up for the state of the relationship as a whole. Just because someone has their good moments, doesn’t mean you accept and forgive them. That’s like saying that someone who physically abuses their S/O, is a good partner because they occasionally make them dinner. It simply isn’t correct.
Majority of the time, Diavolo is fine with Lucifer being reduced to a pretty face and belittled. In public, which very clearly hurts Lucifer’s pride and reputation.
Many people can resonate with some of these behaviors, having seen them in their past.
So please. Tag your works as DiaLuci for others uncomfortable with it, stop attacking others who dislike the ship, and for fucks sake, enough with hating people who dislike a character and/or ship.

Edalyn Clawthorne: A Loner Created Through Tragedy
Tumblr media
Seeing what happened to Edalyn’s father in Knock Knock Knockin’ on Hooty’s Door greatly explains why she looked so saddened by Lilith talking about hanging around their dad more by Keeping Up A-Fear-Ances conclusion. She harbors a lot of guilt in scratching his face up badly from years ago. After an incident like that for someone around an age that young in their life definitely contributed to Eda’s resolve of keeping herself away from others not just solely because of her own ideals about magic and how to properly use it, but also to prevent more people from getting badly hurt because of the owl curse, too. It’s sad to look back on what Lilith said to her mother, “Mom, I heard you, but I couldn’t stop myself.”, because that’s exactly what Eda went through when she attacked her dad.
No matter what her father could’ve said it wouldn’t have reached Edalyn, due to not having much experience with controlling the curse at that time. The amount of guilt running through Edalyn’s mind after coming back to her senses must’ve been unbearable as Hell. It’s already bad enough when hurting random people under a nasty spell, but to injure someone who helped bring you into the world? Anyone would want to put a large gap between themselves after such an awful experience of this magnitude. Season 2 of The Owl House has been doing a lot of great things in its story, such as showing more of Eda’s vulnerability being the point of my post I’d like to delve more into about.
Tumblr media
Eda’s development of opening up emotionally more in Season 1 was certainly good, however we didn’t get a real look into what makes Edalyn who she is as a whole. Season 2 has been allowing more in-depth exploration about why she guards herself as frequently as possible from others. It isn’t a matter of, “I like being a loner, who lives by their own rules about how our world operates.”, rather it centers around, “I’m a bad influence and don’t want to hurt others I care deeply about, or even possibly could grow to, because of my cursed affliction.”. Gwendolyn stating her curse was something that should be cut it out if need be certainly didn’t help in contributing to Eda’s loner nature she develop onward. These moments made her feel ashamed as if she didn’t deserve to be apart something greater like a family, having friends, or finding her own respective lover to boot.
Eda’s long amount of solitude made her into a more powerfully independent and capable person, magically speaking, but it came at a serious cost of something important, one’s own self-esteem. The curse stunted Eda’s emotional growth for a very long while in having to take up the mantle of being unable to face her fears head on. Even in spite of her lesson to Raine about not running away from your own demons, the saying of practice what you preach rang unfortunately true here. Edalyn has been a very closed off person for so many years, where the idea of having to present yourself to someone else, warts and all, scared this witch away into living in seclusion at her Owl House. Despite gaining a family eventually through Luz & King, Eda never told them about her curse until it happened, wasn’t big on showing affection, and struggled with teaching Luz consistently in a good chunk of Season 1.
Tumblr media
Eda’s biggest challenge to overcome has been actually letting people into her life which costed her a healthy social lifestyle, became distant toward the Clawthorne family tree, and resulted in Raine calling off their romantic relationship. They were tired of Eda’s distant attitude in not being able to commit emotionally with expressing more of her compassion, vulnerability, or love either. This is something problematic Eda’s Requiem did explore too when King wanted to speak with Eda, yet she kept on either changing the subject last second, or made up a convenient excuse to hold off on discussing this matter. Edalyn was afraid of change because she had finally become used to King being around for so long. Knowing Luz would have to leave inevitably hurt already, so now finding out King possibly wanted to go find his actual father and stay there with him instead scared Eda outta her mind in facing a reality without the both of them.
Change is a word for Eda that’s a thing she never wants to hear. It’s why she makes the decisions that went on to define her serious solitude. Eda is used to being alone without having to rely on much of anyone else, but that doesn’t mean she obviously has enjoyed it, either. Edalyn only lived in seclusion because she thought it was necessary for safety reasons not outta love for a hermit lifestyle. The tragedy of Eda’s personal background is she allowed this curse to rule over her life for those three decades. Now, to be fair, Gwendolyn contributed to Eda’s baggage with viewing her curse as a disgusting attribute does indeed share the blame here in these events, but regardless Edalyn made unwise decisions she clearly regrets. The biggest ones being not letting anyone, as seen with Raine, get closer to her and avoiding changes to a status quo in Eda’s complicated life. What happened to Eda’s dad was obviously not her fault whatsoever, as it was entirely out of her control. However, Eda’s choice to live in seclusion away from many, make things impossible for a healthy honest relationship work with Raine, and running away from King’s possible separation in Requiem’s story paints a different picture on Eda’s loner nature.
Tumblr media
Eda may try to carry herself as this loner with a sassy attitude, but it’s all just a facade to mask deeper issues of self-esteem, loneliness, and regrets. I find it so beautiful in how she didn’t want Luz running away from her feelings to Amity because she didn’t want her to make the same mistake, like what happened with Raine. Eda let her fear of commitment get to herself and it caused nothing but a mountain of regrets, so she’s correcting this flawed mindset through helping Luz & Amity’s romance. Like, real talk, the way Owl House has explored LGBTQ+ has been simply excellent in building organic romances with Luz/Amity & Eda/Raine, but still giving important development to their characters in making sure their sexuality isn’t the only defining trait they have. That’s been like a pet peeve of mine when incorporating representation for this community of people. I’m all for seeing this kind of equality in fictional entertainment, but don’t make this the only thing that defines their characterization as a whole and Owl House totally understands this about using LGBTQ+ related content.
Season 2 of Owl House has been greatly expanding upon Eda’s emotional dilemmas around her curse, which I love as it deepens this character’s motivations on bettering herself. Edalyn has become a super relatable mentor figure in these recent episodes taking time to showcase the complexities of Clawthorne’s family dynamic being shaken by Eda’s curse and how she finally comes to term with it here in Knock Knock Knockin’ on Hooty’s Door. Rather than viewing it as a monster to be afraid of, Eda is viewing this creature as another living thing deserving to be treated as an equal and not a threat thanks to the help of those elixirs she drinks on a daily basis. I thought Knock Knock Knockin’ on Hooty’s Door would be a serious comedic breather, but instead it gave us more insight on this cast of main protagonists. Edalyn’s backstory revelations were such an amazing surprise, as I didn’t think we’d be getting to see her father this soon and what caused a big rift between the two, as well.
Knock Knock Knockin’ on Hooty’s Door exceeded my expectations in more ways than one. Season 2 of The Owl House has been continuing to impress me.

SEASON TWO - IMPRESSIONS PART 2/? - THE BLIGHTS
So following the order from the previous post, I'll make some notes on the second episode of this season:
[also, I decided to separate the impressions in two posts, one focusing on the Blights and the other about Lilith, Eda and Co]
About the Blights Industry:
So we finally know the exact reason why the Blights hold so much prestige to their name: they have a high tech industry that develops "personal security products" ~why am I not surprised~
The kids seems to be in close touch with the industry events, which shows – among other things – that their parents wants them to keep up with the family's business; Of course that statement is pretty obvious, but it makes me wonder if they even have a life plan for each kid: for example, it's their interest that Amity becomes a Coven head someday, which might implicate they're reserving their current roles at the industry for the Twins;
They might want Edric to assume his dad's genius, or at least his seat at the developing team, and Emira to be the people person, or vice versa – which also makes me wonder how the illusion track could help them fulfil (or maybe scape) such fait;
About Mr and Mrs Blight:
Mr and Mrs Blight were quite different from what we all had thought, or what the show influenced us to think about them; Once again TOH's crew subverted a worn off stereotype of "restrict and refined rich parents" into way more interesting and complex characters, something I'm always here to appreciate;
First thing that caught my attention is that my headcanon about Odalia hating nicknames is horribly wrong – since she also calls Amity Mittens, which both shocked and aroused my curiosity about this nickname's origin;
Maybe she used them a lot when a little kid or for some unusual reason, which got her family members to call her like that; maybe she bakes as a hobby and her family teases her about it (either in a friendly and mockful way); Hope they clarify it later!
Another fact is…. Alador is so done. He's not one for drama, and although he's up to listening and fulfilling his wife's plans, he also doesn't hesitate to call her out when she goes too far, giving the couple a very interesting dynamic; Almost as they are each other's opposite, making me wonder how was their relationship at school;
About Alador's interference:
Now, it might be a stretch from my part, but when Alador stopped Odalia from extending her tantrum, he didn't do it in empathy for the kids – at least not uniquely for that – but rather because he noticed his daughter's strength;
He probably made the connection that, even though Amity has been slipping in her grades, her progress to become a powerful witch keeps up; Then, there was no logic value to insist on the conflict, as their main goal wasn't compromised;
So what I see is that Alador is the one who keeps a low profile, following a long term strategy, both for the industry and his family – which when articulated by logic can snap Odalia out of her overdetermined frenzy and refocus on their prime goals;
Odalia, on the other hand is competitive and forceful by nature: she feels pleasure in having the upper hand in a situation (and she knows how to use her reputation in order to guarantee such privilege); if things don't go her way, she's quick to turn that table, or even change the "game's rules" to have her point proven; She's an achiever, a performer, and when she buys a fight she does so expecting to win;
~I'm anxious to see how they'll develop both characters~
About Odalia and Amity's relationship:
SO THE COLLAR IS A FREAKING COMMUNICATOR? I can only imagine the stress of having your mother's voice literally inside your head while she makes amends about your performance, your behavior, anything!
Does that mean that the collar Amity was wearing at the market when she gave Luz's book back was a direct communicator with her mom? Plus, does she has to wear it always whenever she goes out (apart from school) ?
I confess I got a bit shocked at this little trick, ~and it got me even more concerned about Amity's privacy, no wonder the girl keeps a hideout~
It seems like Amity receives a lot more pressure than the Twins (as she already stated before); Does it mean the Twins already earned their mother's trust to fulfill her expectations (or pretend they fulfill it) or has Amity always been a little more "stubborn" than her older siblings, causing her mother to be more invasive with her;
Or even, as we've seen in Adventure in the Elements, Amity was training with her siblings with the aid of a wand and a 101 magic book; those are signs that she's not "naturally gifted" witch but she made herself a skilled one by working hard (influenced not only by her family but also her former tutor, Lilith); Different from the Twins, that seems to be born with a natural gift, and that might be one of the reasons why her mother focus more on her (but we have yet to see more of the Blights to affirm anything);

Escaping Expulsion Thoughts (once again very stream of conscious-like while i rewatched the episode so there’s a bunch of stuff here)
i fucking knew odalia was gonna be an oracle, i knew and i hate that for her family. i’m not sure if this necklace thing is specifically a form of oracle magic or not but im assuming it is, and either way the second i saw it happen that made my stomach twist. the fact that she just keeps this direct line to her daughter at all times feels so disturbing
so, i get that the joke with glyph lessons here is that eda and lilith are probably acting the exact same way they did when they were younger, but it does also feel a little odd for me. in my post for episode 1 i talked about how it felt like lilith probably missed the structure of the coven, and maybe even having an authority figure, and it does concern me a bit that it could be projected on to luz here.
also, i saw someone mention that they thought lilith could be regressing a bit, which is interesting seeing as she’s been in the coven since basically being a child and now that she’s out, she could be going backwards because that was probably the last time she had a personality of her own instead of one that was carefully crafted to be socially acceptable for others. and to be fair, the few moments in season 1 when we see glimpses into the true lilith, she is pretty childish.
anyways lilith has such pretty handwriting i love it
gus!! witch puberty!! do not worry buddy eda will get your name eventually. probably.
amity went out and murdered those fairies for luz didn’t she
i need to know why the heck bump has no choice in the matter of the expulsion. typically a pta (or pca in this case) wouldn’t have power that much stronger than the principa?? so i wonder if the blights have something over bump, or if its even just something such as donation money they’d withdraw
odalia blight you gaslighting bitch “I’m appalled you’re not in class right now what are you thinking” YOU MADE HER COME HERE
PLEASE i know gus and willow are sad here but the whole “live off the land” thing and “water you one last time, with my tears” are so fucking funny ok
GO LUZ, YOU TELL OFF ODALIA
i feel like alador doesn’t really care what’s going on and just wants to be back home making his abomination inventions, also he seems to have an affinity for different creatures as well which is an interesting detail
i love that willow stated they would get back in on their own right in front of alador and odalia. these people fucked up her friendship and caused her a lot of trouble that she shouldn’t have had to deal with so i love that she’s unafraid to speak like that in front of them
between the first & second episode, and some of the seasons trailer, it seems like Lilith may have an affinity for ice magic? which is interesting seeing as eda was always a fan of her “spicy toss” aka some fire magic. interesting to see the two of them as fire & ice basically
i LOVE how much bump loves luz, willow, and gus. it’s kinda really sweet, but again it feels so concerning that he had no choice in the matter. makes me think he’s more likely to eventually rebel against the standards that have been in place for so long at some point. (also abominations coven for bump!! interesting!! i appreciate seeing the coven marks included on the adults so far)
what is it with these kids and being dragged off by their hoods in this episode
love that the blights address includes “right arm”, also i took a quick look up of the word “bruegal” which is boulevard they live on, and it’s probably just a coincidence but the first google result was actually for a european think tank that specializes in economics
yknow i actually have wondered about layering glyphs on top of each other and making a super glyph the way eda did, so good to know that would NOT work out
luz you’re really gonna give the blights their own flowers??????
it goes by so fast but please take a moment to take in and appreciate the design of that blight entry room/living room-esque area and it’s combination of abomination and oracle decor. also the blight family portrait.
i could talk about alador and odalia and their relationship dynamic here, when luz is meeting with them, but i think it’s best to save for the end, but i will say i don’t think it’s just odalia controlling everything (though she does control a lot) and alador just suffering and being silent.
the more i stare at odalia’s hair the more i feel like she has an odd receding hairline
love that the abomination kept the cat shape luz gave it and that amity knew immediately from that
WILLOW’S DADS!!! I LOVE THEM! I love how much they want their daughter to have a great education even if they have to be the ones to do it! (even if it could come across as a little intense) Although, the fact that they’re prepared to teach plant magic to her makes me question why they put her in abominations once again. (wish we could’ve gotten a glimpse of their coven marks!)
odalia is definitely the one who handles more of the parenting and alador is more distant. at least that’s what i get based on the twins specifying to amity not to tell their mom specifically
absolutely insane that odalia is just letting the abomiton destroy the whole place to kill a child
“stay away from my luz!” oh my god, ohmy GOD
i like how lilith can’t tell if these are normal noises or distress ones. really sums up life in the owl house. also lilith? kicking doors in?? this combined with “I AM A WITCH, UNHINGED” tells me she’ll be as chaotic as the rest of the owl house in no time and i am here for it.
the music when amity jumps in to protect luz is absolutely killing it here i need a soundtrack now
YES AMITY DESTROY THE NECKLACE (and oh god please don’t let odalia give you something even harder to remove or destroy)
Luz is blushing!! The feelings are starting to be returned!!!
“Luz, Willow, and Gus are my friends!” love it. love the open declaration. love that she’s telling her mother off. love that i have something to check off my bingo board already.
okay, i know a lot of people have already suggested that alador is smiling here because he can tell luz and amity like each other, but i’m pretty sure it’s only because he’s noticing how much amity’s magic has grown and improved
small detail but i love the smoke from the units order sign filling the background while odalia is fuming herself
oh? alador has had the ability to tell odalia off and successfully calm her down this whole time? and chose not to use it till now? yeah he sucks too. he very clearly has a plan for amity as much as odalia does as well, but he’s much better at seeing the long-term goal
“the glyph combo, copyright me, lilith” im screaming, lilith you DORK
ok i really wish eda or lilith asked where luz had been. i’d kill for these sisters to go off about how much they hated the alador and odalia in school, as well as threaten to hurt them for hurting luz.
the statue lilith made and her reaction to the gold star she received re-emphasizes my concern about her need for approval and for an authority figure. (ok but her noise at the gold star WAS very cute tho)
alright lets get down to business on the blight parents. so far i definitely do not view their relationship as being one-sided with odalia in control. honestly, i think they do have a sense of mutual respect for the other. to me it seems like all alador really wants to do is focus on his work and nothing else, and odalia seems not only more than happy to let him do so, but willing to take care of everything else the company needs, and he seems fine with that and going along with whatever because he only has to do his part. and clearly his abomination tech combined with her showmanship/advertising (and honestly probably some oracle magic) has clearly made them successful.
so what im saying is that i think their power in their relationship is actually pretty balanced, if it looks otherwise that’s just because that’s how they best function together, with odalia being more forward and alador being more distant, and therefore they’re very much both to blame for shitty parenting.
also I know some people have joked about the blight family name coming from odalia (which is also a dumb joke like why is it funny if the family name comes from the woman and not the man) but anyways I definitely do think blight is aladors family name and odalia married in simply because he takes the whole blights keep up their end of the deal thing much more seriously than odalia. probably something that’s been taught to him since he was a kid yknow, whereas she was super ready to ignore it when it inconvenienced her.
as for the very final scene with them and the golden guard, i had an interpretation of it that i saw, but it seems that everyone else ive see react to it so far saw something different than me so maybe i’m just plain wrong. but like, i have this feeling that maybe the blight parents, while they do want power, might not be as aligned with the emperor and his coven as we may think?? not saying they’re good people, just that there could be more going on here. but idk, i’ve seen no one else interpret it that way yet so i won’t go off about it unless either someone wants to know more of what i thought or if i ever actually make myself get around to making a separate post about it.

thoughts on whether there was a specific time Sam stopped wanting to move away from Dean or was it more of a push and pull?
[ask me thoughts on ___]
Oooh, good one.
In some ways I think it happened early. I think it happened in s3, because that is when the wires of Sam’s perspective on their relationship get fundamentally crossed between “I don’t want you to die” and “I don’t want to leave you.” Mystery Spot is the point of no return in terms of Sam being able to conceptualize his life apart from Dean with them both happy and healthy and alive: “Sam not being with Dean” becomes a rough equivalent to “Dean is dead or worse”. Because of this, after s2, Sam no longer wants to walk away from Dean in the way that was a threat in s1–for the sake of Sam getting a life that was safe and separate from Dean’s.
I think the push and pull post-s3 is less between Sam wanting to live with Dean versus not with Dean, and more with Sam consistently trying and failing to live up to Deans expectations, or at least Sam’s nearest approximation of Dean’s expectations. Sam’s sporadic attempts at pulling away from Dean all shape themselves around the context of how Sam views either Dean’s safety (in s4 and in s10) or Dean’s permission (in s8 and s14-15). Like, s4 Sam doesn’t want to hunt with Ruby instead of Dean. S4 Sam wants to end the Apocalypse and thinks he’s the only one who can. s8 Sam wants his brother alive and is doing his best to abide by his living will. s10 Sam wants Dean uncursed.
s4 in particular has the context of Sam being apart from Dean in order to help him—to work with Ruby to stop the Apocalypse and then repair their relationship afterwards (assuming Sam will still be alive to see it done). I’m really interested in the world in which killing Lilith not only averts the Apocalypse as advertised, but where it magically seals the gates of Hell and Heaven and whatever, such that Sam and Dean are left with a quasi-15.20 type world with no threats on the radar. Presume that Ruby was totally on the level and that she dies tragically and heroically in 4.22. What would Sam and Dean’s relationship recovery look like, and would Sam be able to extricate himself at that point? Would he want to? Without the crushing pressure of successive apocalypses, would Sam and Dean continue hunting and living together, or would Sam convince them to settle down, or would Sam settle down on his own? Would Dean truly accept the prospect of retirement? This is probably the last point in canon where I can truly imagine the development of an amicable split for them.
That’s because the s4 finale and s5 more or less eliminate Sam’s notion that he can work apart from Dean and still be on his side/in the moral right. More wires cross: now “Sam not being with Dean” becomes “Sam has done something wrong.” The perceived betrayal of s4 recontextualizes Dean’s departure and therefore Sam’s as a moral judgment: in 5.03-4 Sam is apart from Dean because he no longer deserves to be near him. And Sam isn’t, like, self-actualizing with his bartending job. He’s separated himself from hunting because of his guilt and the conviction that his involvement will only make things worse—and when Lucifer turns up in his dreams he begs Dean to return.
The Cage of course is a whole nother beast. It drives Sam’s need for a relationship with someone who both knows him well and doesn’t want to hurt him into overdrive: he needs Dean for the sake of his sanity in s7. Lucifer is a fundamental psychological pillar that begs replacing.
The nearest Sam gets to retreat in late seasons is s8, in the sense that he has expectations for his life that don’t jive with Dean’s. But he wants Dean alive and not angry with him more than he wants anything else. Sam’s departure from Dean in s7 is a flash in the pan. In s9 it wasn’t Sam’s choice for Dean to leave, and leaving isn’t even necessarily what he wanted from Dean.
s14 and s15 (and to some extent s12 with the BMoL and s13 with Jack) have Sam taking on roles and relationships that aren’t just with Dean. He is a father to Jack, he is a leader of a group of hunters, he is sorta dating Eileen. He’s best friends with Nick. He’s expanding the potential of his life in a (mostly) Dean-approved manner. Where that runs up against Dean’s expectations and wants—most severely and notably with Jack—there is conflict, but the question at hand is never whether or not Sam will leave, not even when Jack is in clear and present danger at Dean’s hands.

I Think I Can Do That Belphie x MC
Lesson 16 spoilers ahead~
Gender neutral mc. This was actually supposed to be pure fluff but apparently Belphie’s guilty conscience possessed me or somethin. Have fun reading :3
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
It was quiet throughout the House of Lamentation, not a creature was stirring except for MC who picked up their DDD for the millionth time that night to check the time. They groaned seeing the time. 3am. They had been restless for the past few nights, causing them to be exhausted throughout the day. Which only brought more problems with it between Lucifer complaining about the low grades and the continuous event of falling asleep in class, to Asmodeus who kept bugging them about the dark circles that were starting to form under their eyes.
It wasn’t their fault they couldn’t fall asleep. Their sleep schedule usually fixes itself on its own time but right now they really didn’t feel like waiting for that to happen. Grabbing a couple random blankets they made their way up to the attic to where the one demon who could easily fix this resided.
They opened the door knowing they always had full access to the room. The demon offered the space as a sort of apology for the events that happened there. It wasn’t the best form of apology all things considered, but it was progress all the same.
“Belphie?” Mc called out looking towards the bundle of blankets on the bed. It was quiet enough that if he was actually asleep he wouldn’t stir but he would hear if awake. The blanket pile shifted before a bright light shined in MC’s eyes.
“Why are you up? It’s 3 am.” Belphie said in a matter-of-fact tone still shining the flashlight from his DDD at MC’s face.
“I couldn’t sleep. Would you get the damn light out of my face before I go blind?” MC said shielding their face with their arm until the light was pointed towards the floor after a small chuckle from the demon. “And you’re one to talk. You seem pretty awake too.”
The sleep demon moved over making room for the human to sit next to him. He pulled his legs up to his chest laying his head down on his knees. “Yeah but I at least have an excuse if I fall asleep in class. Lucifer will get on your case if you do though.” He scoffed softly, staring at the spot on the floor. “I’m not helping you if you get in trouble for being awake at this hour.”
“I would have had as much luck falling asleep in my room,” MC grumbled flopping down on the bed lazily.
“Nightmare?” Belphie asked halfhearted, glancing at the human through the bangs that cover his eye.
“I wish. I couldn’t even get asleep long enough to have one. It doesn’t make sense I’m tired all day but then when night rolls around I get all restless.” MC huffed glaring at the ceiling as if it was the source of the problem. “What about you?” MC turned their attention to the demon next to them.
“What about me?”
“You’re awake too.”
“So I am,” Belphie smirked, completely avoiding the question.
“Yeah, but why?”
“Why what?” Belphie said, smugly getting a groan out of the human.
“Why are you awake? It’s 3 am.” MC pressed nearly mimicking what he had said when they arrived.
It was silent for a while and the two stared at each other before Belphegor glanced at his DDD. “It’s actually closer to 3:30 now.” He mumbled softly still avoiding the question.
“Whatever.” MC sighed knowing this game they were playing could last hours at best and dropped it. “Could you at least perform some fancy sleep ritual to help me or something?”
“Sleep ritual?” Belphie tilted his head staring at the human with pure confusion.
“You know.” They replied vaguely waving their arms as if it would help get the point across. “You’re the Avatar of Sloth, I want to sleep, so you can fix it.”
“Sloth and sleep are different things.” Belphie started frowning. “Besides I’m not putting you under a sleeping spell. Those suck to break.”
“What like, Sleeping Beauty?”
“The original fairy tale yeah.”
“Oh.” MC pulled a face remembering the original book Satan had let them borrow a while back. They shook their head to get rid of that image. “There has to be something you can do to help.”
Belphie shrugged. “Probably not. When I put people to sleep they normally don’t wake up.” He winced when he noticed the implications of his words and turned to stare at the floor again.
They both sat in silence again. Mc was half certain the demon managed to fall asleep sitting in that position until he spoke up.
“It was a nightmare.”
“Huh?” Mc questioned turning their attention back to the demon who was still staging ahead fixated on the space ahead.
“I woke up because of a nightmare. That’s why I’m still awake.”
“Oh.” MC waited for a few beats before asking, “Do you want to talk about it?”
He didn’t reply. Which also wasn’t exactly a no. So MC pushed a bit further. “Was it about Lilith? Beel mention that he has nightmares about her sometimes-”
“No. It wasn’t about Lilith.”
“Okay.” There wasn’t much else that came to mind so MC decided to wait for Belphie to bring it up himself if he actually wanted to talk.
“You know I’m sorry right?” He mumbled the words and MC had to strain to hear them even with the silence that surrounded them.
“For what?” MC asked. They waited for a reply before sitting up. Belphie was still focused on the same spot as before. They glanced over at the spot before it finally clicked. “Oh.” Their stomach dropped a little. For better or worse they had pushed the events of their own demise as far away as possible hoping to ignore it by distracting themselves with things like repairing the brother’s relationships with Belphie. By the time all the brothers were at least on speaking terms with him MC had spent enough time around the demon that they became a bit desensitized. The breath that caught in their throat stopped happening each time the demon lifted his arms or stood a little too close. Neither really talked about the event both finding it easier to just ignore the situation altogether.
They glanced back over at Belphie just in time to see the demon’s head turn back towards the spot. “I know it’s probably not enough but…” He trailed off shaking his head. “Demons aren’t exactly made for apologies. It’s no excuse but it’s the only one I have.”
“I know.” Thinking back on it MC couldn’t actually remember a point where any of the demons made a point of apologizing for any sort of injury they got. Their life had been put in danger numerous times now and the closest thing they ever got to an apology was a pact. “I don’t entirely blame you either, you know.”
Belphie finally turned and made eye contact. “You should. Blame me that is.”
“Probably.” MC just shrugged. “I think being in the Devildom has desensitized me to near-death experiences though. But I don’t blame it all on you. You were angry and rightfully so. Lucifer put you in what was practically solitary confinement. That sort of thing is known to be detrimental to anyone’s mental health.”
“That’s not an excuse to kill you though.” Belphie’s voice was shaking slightly and he had his head turned away from the human completely.
“No. It’s not.” MC absentmindedly rubbed their neck. “I don't think either of us will ever completely get past what happened.” They caught on to their action quickly and forced their hand down before Belphie noticed. “But I think as long as you show some sort of regret, which you clearly do, and promise to never do it again, we can work past it.” They reached their hand out towards the demon patiently.
Belphie glanced at their hand staring at it blankly. “I-” his voice cracked a little and he rubbed at his eyes. Before starting again. “I think I can do that.” He reached out placing his hand on MC’s gently as if the slightest sort of contact would break them.
The two smiled at each other and sat like that for a while before one of their DDD’s rang out.
“What the fuck?” MC mumbled fumbling for the source of the noise recognizing the sound of their morning alarm. Belphie laughed softly at the human watching them fumble about uselessly. “You could help me find my damned DDD instead of laughing at me you jerk,” Mc mumbled glaring at the demon who smirked in return.
“It’s not my fault you lost it.”
“You little-” MC lifted a pillow to smack the demon with when they heard a soft thud on the floor. “Found it!” They successfully grabbed it, shutting off the alarm. Then they groaned the implications of the alarm finally setting in. “I have to get ready for classes.”
“No, you don’t,” Belphie said oh so helpful as ever.
“Yeah, I do stupid. You should too.”
“Don’t call me stupid when you’re the stupid one. Neither of us got any sleep. We deserve to sleep.” He stated, laying down as if to prove his point.
“I don’t think Lucifer would agree with that statement,” MC said staring at the sloth demon who already had his eyes closed. “Besides, aren't you the one who said Lucifer would yell at me for sleeping in class?”
“Hmm? No, I don’t remember saying that at all. You must be putting words in my mouth, MC.” He gently pulled on their arm. “Now come lay down. You need more sleep than I do. Your weak little human body will break otherwise.”
“I should leave just out of spite of that comment you know.” Despite that MC let the demon pull them down sighing when their head hit the pillows. “You’re taking the blame if Lucifer yells at us,” MC said with a yawn, their exhaustion finally catching up with them.
“Yeah.” Belphie hummed softly. “I think I can do that.”

Ginger Snaps: Brigitte Fitzgerald headcanons
This is a follow up of sorts to an older post of mine,  Ginger Snaps + Jennifer’s Body headcanons/prompts and some ideas in that post are carried over to here.
Tumblr media
This also has to do with an upcoming AO3 story I will work on once I’m done Loves Sacrifices, that’ll mix Ginger Snaps, The Craft, and Jennifer’s Body. So far it’s only in the idea stages and not all of these are set in stone.
I figured I didn’t put enough focus on Brigitte in the previous post, and Brigitte herself doesn’t get enough love on this site as her sister. Since Brigitte has been a comfort character of mine for like a decade, I figured I rectify that.
1. For all intents and purposes, werewolves differ here than they do in the Ginger Snaps movies. Since it’s not directly mentioned in the movies, I choose to ignore the idea of “permanent change” for these stories. Werewolves here are portrayed closer to The Vampire Diaries depictions.
2. Brigitte’s final fate, obviously isn’t trapped in Ghost’s basement. In fact, I see her escaping and going free just after the events of Unleashed. While I long subscribe to the idea of Ginger’s resurrection or even Sam not only surviving but becoming a werewolf himself, I’m not sure they’d have anything to do with it. The main events of this story are gonna be set in 2010.
3. In fact, I see Brigitte traveling Canada and the states to come to terms with being a werewolf - as opposed to fighting it or wholeheartedly embracing it - for about a decade before she see’s either Ginger or Sam again. I see Brigitte having few people she can trust, and had a few toxic relationships after she escaped Ghost. Brigitte undoubtedly deserves better, but I think it would be a few years before she goes back to Bailey Downs.
Among the places I can see Brigitte visiting over the years, includes Mystic Falls (The Vampire Diaries/Legacies), Beacon Hills (Teen Wolf) and Devils Kettle (Jennifer’s Body). If she got her high school graduate, she would attend Silas University (Carmilla: The Series). Whitechapel, Ontario (My Babysitter’s a Vampire) is also a neighboring town to Bailey Downs.
4. If and when Ginger and Brigitte meet again, I see them having a relationship comparable to Eda and Lilith Clawthorn of The Owl House. I just haven’t decided who would be who in that scenario.
5. Speaking of Ghost, here’s a fun fact; Orphan Black and Ginger Snaps are canonically part of the same universe - same creators, same locations, etc. With this in mind I like to imagine that Ghost from Unleashed is a Project Leda clone.
Tumblr media
This doesn’t have anything really to do with the story, but it is a headcanon I genuinely held for a long time.
6. I’m not gonna lie, I have considered parenting prompts for either Fitzgerald sister; I’ve been writing and scrapping ideas for these two for a decade, but one that kept coming back to me was the idea of one of them becoming a mother. Some versions it’s Brigitte, others it’s Ginger
It’s not a set in stone idea admittedly, and honestly, I lean more to a Needifer parenting nowadays - and even then that was filtered by both Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried being moms IRL. Again, it’s not set in stone.
7.  Brigitte is a not-co-closeted nerd and Star Wars fangirl.  We are talking Laura Hollis levels of cultured geek girl, that Brigitte rarely shows due to her usual demeanor.
Specifically, she’s a Star Wars Legends enthusiast (The Thrawn Trilogy and New Jedi Order are her personal favorites. Should she see the New Canon came out, Brigitte would be pretty cool with it, and take to writing on AO3, creating a fanon timeline that combines Canon and Legends. It turned into a collaborative effort with her friends.
With the above, at one point in their childhood, the Fitzgerald sisters dressed as Star Wars characters for Halloween. Brigitte went as Leia, and Ginger went as Mara Jade.
8. This one ties in with one of my previous posts; The Craft + Sarah x Nancy Headcanons. It’s also one of the few ideas that are set in stone.
Tumblr media
Among the people Brigitte encounters on her travels, I can see her meeting and becoming very close to Sarah Bailey and Nancy Downs.
I mean, all three of them are long time Comfort Characters of mine, and the fact that Emily Perkins is a Fairuza Balk fan IRL may have influenced this idea. It thought it would be a waste to not link the three together. I personally see Sarah and Nancy reaching out to Brigitte upon finding out her predicament, helping her come to terms with her being a werewolf. “Mentorship” isn’t exactly the word I’d use, but it comes pretty close to what I have in mind.
I don’t know if it will tie into my prompt of Sarah and Nancy as a swinger couple - I can see it happening, although the only other person I seriously shipped Brigitte with was with Sam.
Tumblr media
Either way, Sarah, Nancy and the coven are some of the few people Brigitte is on good terms with by 2010.
9. Brigitte has a hidden musical talent, and likes to sing when she’s alone or thinks she’s alone. She is a wiz on the piano, and has a singing voice comparable to Leona Lewis and Christina Aguilera. She isn’t open about her talents, and during her high school years, only about three people heard her singing voice and that was because they’d walk past a seemingly empty music class while Brigitte was alone with the piano.
Of course, Brigitte mostly does covers. In 1999, Brigitte did a cover to Nine Inch Nails Hurt, but Ginger told her that song wouldn’t exactly catch on. There was one song that Brigitte originally wrote, about her and Ginger’s relationship - it ended up being plagiarized by a toxic boyfriend Brigitte briefly had, who went on to use it in his band, Low Shoulder.
Another favorite of Brigitte’s as (surprisingly) Britney Spears Lucky - not that she’s a Spears fan in general, but Brigitte caught on to things pretty quickly and was way ahead of her time; she was in the Free Britney crowd all the way back in 1999.
The main reason why Brigitte doesn’t utilize her talents, on top of all her other problems, can be boiled down to her being stage shy.

Goodness, your art gives me life, I swear. Also, I was wondering how the Belos - Hunter relationship works in your Swap AU. Are they still uncle and nephew or do they just meet randomly like Eda and Luz in the show? Or something else?
for the sake of the au, unless something changes in the show to make me readjust some things....they're not gonna be related. (Though tbf it's unclear even in the show the full extent of their family connection).
And they'll work like Eda and Luz already do, except belos is FAR more reluctant then Eda probably was to have a human in his house (He'll get used to it).
Tumblr media
Instead of being abusive and murderous, Belos and Kiki are just like....grumpy hermits who don't like people and keep to themselves a lot. Belos won't leave the dang house really and kiki does most of the work and talking (So basically no different then the show XD).
They're criminals doing their own thing and Hunter's existence literally FORCES them to do things now because if they don't he will find a way to make things worse. XD
Hunter's smart, he's incredibly gifted and a huge wild magic nerd, but he gets himself into trouble because of his want to learn more about the world and having so much more freedom here then he did back home. He'll just stumble his way into danger because he likes to take risks in search of knowledge.
But he's also sarcastic and moody at times, they're a moody bunch.
Hunter never experiences the hard training and serious issues he does in the show, so here he's not as well trained in battle and his mind has yet to be seriously damaged. But his parents are also still like...dead in this au so like, he probably has some issues, he's still trying to cure belos.....which annoys the crap out of him btw but he gets used to it.
He's frequently witty tho, and gets easily annoyed when picked on, so basically he's about the same as he mostly is in the canon series, but with far less of the baggage and not as competent (Yet).
I didn't expect him to be so much of a straight man to luz's shenanigans as he turned out to be, but actually it kinda works better. Everyone just now drives hunter insane at times, and he has to put up with it.
- (Don't mind me, i'm rambling about the uncle stuff down here)
Honestly i figured something like this could happen because i was one of the people who HEAVILY suspected GG and Belos were gonna be related somehow.
Like before GG's age was revealed you were able to maybe assume GG was just some powerful adult general of belos's he had lying around and some rival to lilith and kiki, but when we got told he was 16 years old i knew something was up. (Tho i did suspect him being a kid when the intro came out and he looked really young in it)
He and belos were matching design wise in their outfits, they were both carrying matching staffs with similar magic to them. Belos appeared to have some special level of trust to this teenager in particular that i found too odd unless they had a connection between them.
Not to mention, all the important kid characters have parents we actually get to meet, and it seemed clear to me GG was going to be important to s2 in some fashion because of his involvement in the new intro, new poster, how dana was talking about him-
and it'd be so much weirder for the show to introduce this random kid without him having any connection to any previously established characters. And for me, belos made by far the most sense to be the character he's already connected to in terms of everything else i listed here.
It was either "These two are related" or "Belos is just REALLY attached to this teenager in particular for some reason", which still gave off parental vibes anyway.
So i was expecting this to possibly happen, where i'd have to rethink their relation in the au, but yeah no, for now i still think it works....especially since the show is being so vague about how hunter got into belos's hands in the first place.
I commend my great observation skills paying off here tho, i knew there had to be something familial between belos and GG, especially since they wanna obviously parallel eda and luz.

OBEY ME! LESSON 52 DETAILED SUMMARY + THEORIES
Two locked lessons :( hopefully telling where the fuck Mammon & Luke have been
Lucifer’s immediately suspicious of them, asking who they are and whose in charge of them. MC points at their obviously non-angelic clothes and says they’re angels while Satan says Simeon’s their guardian (weren’t Simeon & Lucifer really close back then? Wouldn’t he have told Lucifer if he got new angels?). He says it’s good luck then that he ran into a seraph’s assistants as he dumbs a load of books on them and says ‘I’m a seraph assist me’ or rather ‘carry these books to the library for me’ – Satan gets ready to protest but Lucifer cut him off saying that assuming they really are angels they’d know who he was (really didn’t like that ‘assuming you really are angels bit’) meaning his orders are not optional so get to work. Satan silently glares at him. Lucifer complains about how this is not even his job but Raphael’s who’s been picking on Lucifer to get back for how much shit his brother’s cause (I’ve so many HCs about Raphael and Michael. Raphael I always see as stoic and stiff who gets into those aggressively polite, passive-aggressive, thin lipped smile, voices hissed out and cutting, arguments with Lucifer about his brothers and punishing them adequately. Considering Michael is supposed to be somewhat childish personality wise and Raphael is serious I also see them having a relationship very similar to Diavolo and Lucifers’, With Raphael being Michael’s weary but fond handler). Satan says if his brothers are acting out then maybe Lucifer’s just bad at supervising them, MC sighs and sympathises with the tone of someone who has lived through the exact same experience which Lucifer immediately picks up and comments on. Beel’s been sneaking food, Belphie keeps escaping to the human world and even though they’re relatively minor things their frequency makes them add up and Raphael won’t stop being snide and sarcastic about it. Satan cuts off Lucifer’s ranting about how terrible Raphael is (given that outside of his brothers Simeon’s the only one Lucifer seems close with in the Celestial Realm and knowing Lucifer he’d never unload his troubles on to his brothers in fear of being seen as not being in control, and Beel mentioned Lucifer usually stuck to staying inside the Celestial Palace it makes sense that he desperately needs someone to rant to) saying that Lucifer complains too much and if he’s so happy here maybe he should just leave the celestial realm and head to – but he’s cut off by Lucifer saying “for an angel you really seem ready to start shit huh” and I’m pretty sure he knows :) Satan just silently glares back. Lucifer tries to tell them what the organising system in the library is but Satan cuts him off saying he can see what it is by just looking and then he diverts his attention to psychoanalysing Lucifer, asking if Lucifer’s pushing them around cause Raphael pushes him around. Lucifer ignores the last part saying no matter how much sully seems like he wants to tear Lucifer’s head off he’s skilful and knows his way around books, when Satan only glares back he asks if Satan likes books to which he replies that every book in this library is precious. Lucifer laments about how none of his brothers like books despite how much he tries to get them into reading and that there’s no one he knows who he can talk to about them since Michael “overcomplicates things and twists them into something they’re not” (do you think Michael has started his Lucifer shrine at this point or does that happen after the fall?) and Raphael “who’s snide and generally unpleasant” (God if they do introduce the angels I desperately want them to be dicks. Like give me one person who’s an asshole that’s not hiding a secret soft side, I want someone who looks at MC sneers and then continues to never fall in love with them) though there is Simeon who’s the most normal of them. He says his life would be easier if he had someone like Sully for a brother (poor Satan’s probably going through a crisis rn). Lucifer says that Satan can look around and pick any book he wants and even points him towards a section meant only for seraph. Satan hesitantly picks up one and asks for permission and Lucifer notes he’s a fan of art. After they’re done Lucifer calls Satan close to look at a particularly interesting book with a blank cover. There’s a flash of bright white light and chains burst from inside the book and wrap around Satan who gets immediately pissed off, demanding what’s happening (earning their trust just to flip on them like that!? Specially satan!? The years of progress that just undid!?) Does he already know Satan is a demon? I mean they’re both pretty suspicious either way but I’m pretty sure he won’t take them to the other higher ups considering how he spoke about them and I’m 100% sure if this was pre-Diavolo angel!Lucifer he would have killed Satan on the spot without bothering to trap him.
Satan yells at Lucifer to do something (I don’t know if it’s sweet or sad that no matter how much Satan pretends to hate Lucifer in the end he absolutely believes Lucifer would never do anything to hurt him and would help him if he was in trouble even when Satan’s usual logic should tell him that Lucifer intentionally gave him the book). Lucifer says it makes sense that Satan got caught and when MC tries to help him Satan tells them to stay back cause he doesn’t want them to get caught either. Lucifer says the book is alive and catches evil beings and the harder you struggle the tighter the chains get (don’t you think Evil has two meanings in the OM! World? The brothers and the demons in general are referred to as evil a lot but when it comes down to it they’re all good people – heavily flawed with pretty loose morals – but more or less good people certainly not bad enough to be called evil. Evil tm seems to be what all demons naturally are but that it seems to have nothing to do with the puppy kicking, baby eating, mass murder you’d usually associate with the term. So yeah two different meanings. I think technically inanimate objects like the book would react to the natural Evil tm in the brothers and actual people like the angels will associate that natural Evil tm with the normal evil we all know and thus believe all demons are puppy kicking, baby eating, mass murderers). Lucifer said he would have known if Simeon got two angels (BOOM!) and that he knew from the beginning they weren’t angels (just look at their freaky ass non-white coloured clothes!). Satan says Lucifer playing dirty is something that has never changed. Lucifer says he has no fucking clue what Satan’s talking about and then looks at MC and says “wtf are you anyway” when MC answers he says that Michael’s being interested in a human sorcerer recently but guesses that’s not MC, he says they’re obviously not a demon or angel but doesn’t seem to believe the human thing fully too because he again asks and emphasises, “Interesting…What are you, exactly…” (This is the second time OM!’s implied MC’s not fully human, demon or angel with the first being in a devilgram. In my first ever HC list I said I see MC as a hybrid of the three while still being mostly human – because when Lilith died she was no longer an angel but she wasn’t fully a demon either and that particular magic unique to only her travelled with her when she reincarnated and then travelled unnoticed through her descendants and was magnified after MC made pacts with the 7 brothers and started sharing their powers). Satan latches on to that, stating MC’s not a demon so Lucifer should only be interested in him but that piques Lucifer’s interest more and he moves closer to MC because why would a demon protect someone else. MC tells Lucifer to let Satan go (and it’s said in a way where it’s implied it’s an order not an option and MC’s a little insane right?) Satan says there’s no point trying to get Lucifer to listen before he transforms into his demon form saying Lucifer never listens, to which Lucifer is silent (Y’all really need to talk after all this is over), before he says there’s no need for Satan to lose his temper and that Lucifer would let them go which obviously shocks Satan. Lucifer releases Satan who asks what Lucifer’s new plot is. Lucifer’s like “wow you have zero trust in me” and Satan’s like “bitch, I have negative trust in you”. Lucifer says there’s no plots and Satan says he’s lying. Lucifer says that the old him would have drop kicked a demon on site and wouldn’t have released them just so they could talk. And what does Lucifer want to talk about? His new demon boo <3 ugh sorry “acquaintance”. He says he never would have imagined he’d have a demon as an acquaintance but here we are. Lucifer says he’s strange, that he doesn’t act like a demon and that the more they talk the less he understands him but that he likes talking to him and there’s a certain feeling he gets from talking to Diavolo similar to the one he gets when talking to Satan (familiarity? Belonging? Kinship? Affection?) and I can’t believe we went from Lucifer complaining about his co-workers to him asking advice about what sounds like his first crush. Lucifer says he also wants to know more about Satan and that he only used the book to make sure he actually was a demon and he asks Satan to forgive him, Satan is silent and contemplative. Lucifer says he’s answered Satan’s questions and isn’t there something that Satan should say to him, more specifically, “thank you for releasing me”. Satan mumbles under his breath “holy shit I can’t believe you made me believe you were nice! You’re as nasty as ever” but still flushes red and says thanks. Lucifer’s pleased by it and says that for his good manners he won’t report anything to Michael but in return they have to follow him again.
Lucifer leads them back to a rooftop? where the brothers are. Mammon says Lucifer’s late and that Beel ate the food they’d left aside for him, while Belphie complains about how after Lucifer told all of them not to be late he was. Lucifer smiles and tells Belphie to not get mad about it in exchange for Lucifer ignoring that Belphie slept on the job. Belphie says that’s playing dirty. Asmo & Levi say that considering all the work Lucifer has these days they shouldn’t be mad at him, they then ask why Satan left and that they were worried about him & MC. Belphie asks since when were they friends with Lucifer, A red faced Satan says they’re not. Beel happily points out that Satan’s face is progressively turning more red and Satan says that all the eggs Beel ate contained reddite and it was fucking up his eyesight and this exactly the sort of BS I’d say to my brother to get him off my back the om! Team writes sibling relationships so well???? Beel questions about reddite and Satan just goes balls deep with the lie, creating a new disorder, explaining how it works and what the permanent effects are to which Beel immediately starts panicking until Belphie says Satan’s just being a lil’ shit. Simeon congratulates MC on their therapy skills but MC says it’s Lucifer who did everything. Simeon says Lucifer shouldn’t get all the credit (because yeah honestly sometimes just having someone to sit with you and hold your hand even if you don’t talk goes a long way when you’re having a bad time). Mammon asks Lucifer why he called them all here. Lucifer uses magic and suddenly the sky daylit sky outside is replaced by the stars and moon and night sky. Lucifer says Michael made Raphael remodel the room (so they’re in the observatory?) to show the human sky as well and Lucifer wanted to check it out before Michael had the chance. All the brothers are in awe. MC asks if Michael will be pissed that Lucifer checked out what is clearly his room first and Lucifer says he doesn’t give a flying fuck about it. Belphie’s thrilled and asks if anyone knows any stories about the constellations, Satan says he knows about every single one. Asmo asks him to tell them and he starts pointing out stars first the three stars forming the triangle of Betelgeuse, then Cator and Pollux – gemini - who are incredibly close and are like peas in a pod which the twins instantly claim as their own, and then orion. Simeon is happy that Satan looks so happy.
Mc is later woken up by Satan, with the others already asleep around the room, he says the stupid faces they make when they sleep hasn’t changed over the years. MC notes that Simeon and Lucifer are missing and asks about it. He says he has no idea and that they must have gone off together, he then asks them to keep quiet about what they saw here when they got back home. MC’s not on board with that and says there’s nothing to be embarrassed about, Satan blushes says he’s not but that the brothers will tease him but in the end he’s happy they came here. He thanks MC and they say they’re just happy seeing him being so happy and he calls them mean for teasing him, the twins start moving around in bed and end up in weird positions – Satan fondly complains about that never changing and how they wouldn’t survive without him and goes to straighten them out. MC goes to find Lucifer and Simeon. They then eavesdrop on them talking in the forest. Lucifer says that Simeon looks really good as a human and Simeon says coming from Lucifer that’s a grand compliment. He then says he knows that none of this is real but that he’s truly happy he got to see Lucifer like this one more time. Lucifer asks what he’s talking about considering Simeon sees him so much every day that Lucifer figures Simeon would be sick of him and that nothing is going to change. “This is who we are. And who we’ll be forever” (and this whole thing is so fucking bittersweet and I forget that Simeon lost all his closest friends in the Celestial Realm in one fell sweep and then went through whatever unknown events got him demoted). Simeon looks sad for just a moment before he smiles and says, “Forever, huh…That’s such a wonderful word, but so very fragile.” (actual tears rn). Simeon says he knows Lucifer’s met Diavolo by now and that he’s felt lingering doubt crawl into his heart so when Lucifer says forever even he himself is not sure if he means it (this also explains one of the reasons why Simeon isn’t Diavolo’s biggest fan because while leaving was definitely the brothers’ decision he probably unconsciously or lowkey resents Diavolo for putting the thought into Lucifer’s head and showing him that leaving was an available option) Lucifer stutters and doesn’t know what to say to that. (Okay so ik that some of y’all see the “brothers no more” chat name and see Lucifer and Simeon brothers but I’ve always considered that to mean “brothers in arms”? Not actual siblings? One, because Lucifer would never have left one of his siblings behind, no matter how much they kicked and screamed and refused to leave he would have dragged them down to the Devildom with him. Two, Lucifer treats Simeon as an equal something he doesn’t do to his brothers. With his brothers he’s overprotective and condescending, controlling and overbearing. He’s basically helicopter-parenting and you can clearly see that he doesn’t treat them as equals unlike the way he treats Simeon. Third there’s a clear distance between Simeon and the brothers. I mean they’re all really close but the brothers don’t treat Simeon the same way they treat each other or even the way they treat Lucifer – there always seems to be an underlying layer of respect. I mean sure they respect Lucifer and each other (hard as it may be to see) but they can also call Lucifer and each other ‘dickheads’ to the face something I don’t see them doing with Simeon. The brothers’ relationship with Simeon, I see in the same way I’d treat the composed sweet close friend of a sibling who is much much much older than me. So yeah I see Simeon as being Lucifer’s childhood friend, where they grew up in each other’s pockets, went to war together and fought alongside each other and ended up working in the same place in similar positions).
MC wakes up to someone shaking them and calling their name (you can choose it to be either Luke or Mammon. Because I’m a sim: ) Mammon gives a short relieved laugh when they wake up, asking them what they’re doing sleeping in the middle of the forest and how no matter how much he shook them they didn’t wake up and how he was worried. Satan says they’re back in the real world and Mammon asks them wtf they’re talking about saying he doesn’t remember anything, MC asks where they were and says they were worried. Neither Luke nor Mammon remember anything and didn’t even remember disappearing, saying they walked in the HoL and the next minute they were back to standing in the forest. Mammon and Luke have a brief argument about how they might have actually been in danger and the word chihuahua is thrown and protested to until Mammon remembers and asks what the other two are doing here and MC explains how and why they came here. Luke says okay “but when you say you tripped balls and had a shared hallucination what exactly do you mean…” Satan shuts that down quickly. Luke asks what even happened. Simeon hands him a pamphlet where the whole section about the HoL is gone, in its place is a passage about rumours of fairies who lure people and tease and torment them. Satan says it’s a miracle they made it out alive. Simeon says it’s because of the hawthorn berry powder Satan is covered in because fairies are very fond of hawthorn berries and as a thank you to Satan for bringing it to them they showed him something he’d always wanted to experience. This line makes Mammon & Luke even more curious and Satan threatens Simeon not to say a word but he forgot MC’s a shithead so they begin, “So we found ourselves in the Celestial Realm –“ before Satan cuts them off, telling them to shut up and threatening them with him going to Lucifer and telling him a whole list of bad things Mammon did whether they’re true or not and azkcjbscjwzx I can’t believe Satan just called MC a simp like that right to their face in front of everyone what the fuuuuuuck!????? Mammon oblivious loveable idiot that he is doesn’t understand why he’s being threatened. Simeon reminds them of why they even came out here and MC remembers the fairies/fairy rings, Mammon laments not been able to get their treasure and Luke calls him evil for wanting to steal it. Mammon says treasure or fairy rings it’s still the same but Luke vehemently protests against that. Mammon does note that despite running into fairies there doesn’t seem to be any fairy rings around and Simeon says they may have to give up for now, Satan agrees saying after all the emotional upheaval he’s exhausted. Both Luke and Mammon are really disappointed. (So about the vision/hallucination/reality they saw it reminded me of that thing Dumbledore said in the last Harry Potter book when they were in Kings Cross station. Something about how just because it’s a dream doesn’t mean it’s not real.)
Back in the train station Mammon and Luke are still sulking and MC says at least they had fun together, mammon agrees minus the part at the end that turned into a scene from a horror movie. Satan asks Simeon why he’s smirking, Simeon says he’s remembering how adorable Satan had looked while he was teaching his brothers the constellations for the first time and how he wished real Lucifer was there to see it. Satan demands that none of this goes back to Lucifer. Simeon laughs evilly and MC says Lucifer would be so happy if he knew and Satan – red-faced – says that’s exactly why he doesn’t want Lucifer to know and sighs about how satan still can’t admit to how much he loves Lucifer. Simeon says that it’s a special opportunity considering this particular group don’t get to travel together that often but Mammon still sulks until he’s back on the train and fawning over how good the food is. Luke calls mammon a simpleton for how easily his moods flip-flop (hey???? I take offense to that) and mammon snaps back at him, Luke says since Mammon’s always talking about him like he’s a dog he doesn’t get to complain and Simeon laughs about how close they seem, Satan’s confused by Simeon’s definition of close and MC says you tend to fight more with people you’re closer to (which yeah it’s true for me at least. I’d always argue with someone I’m close to vs someone I just know and they’re never serious arguments either just stupid shit that you can trade friendly-rude barbs over). Luke says he’d never be close with a demon like Mammon and Mammon says for such a small kid Luke’s got a big mouth, Luke bites back and they continue. Simeon tells MC if they thought they could get rest on the train back they’re greatly mistaken cause Simeon was only able to book 4 rooms so two of them will have to share and that immediately stops Luke & Mammon’s argument. MC feels all of their eyes boring into them before they all start volunteering to share a room with MC. Luke suggests they draw straws or play rock-paper-scissors to decide, Mammon suggests cards but Satan says that he can see in Mammon’s eyes that he plans on cheating and an argument breaks out making the others on the train turn to stare at them and this time MC genuinely seems to consider jumping off a moving train instead they command the demons to stay. Simeon says that never stops being funny and Luke says it actually looks painful and ik MC only uses it when things are getting out of hand and they aren’t listening to reason and are causing a scene that can lead to a (usually) public brawl but the command to stay still feels icky to me.
In the corridor MC finds a silent sad looking Simeon and asks him what’s wrong. Simeon tries to deflect it, gets oddly scatter brained about where he put down his tea, says that even though rock-paper-scissors was a fair was to decide he’s disappointed but the look on Mammon & Luke’s faces when they found out they would be sharing was worth it. MC picking up on how all over the place he seems asks if something is bothering him. He says not really but sort of? He says Satan wasn’t the only one impacted by the whole Celestial Realm fever dream and that seeing the brothers as angels again brought back happy memories until he remembered that they aren’t there anymore and that the Celestial Realm is different now which made him depressed. MC hugs them and Simeon says they’re warm and smell comforting before he thanks them he then blushes and says he would like to kiss them and MC gets the chance to either tell him to go ahead or to gently say “No, Simeon…” he understands that there’s someone else and that whoever that is he’s very lucky. He then gives them the star of patience and tells them they’re gonna be an amazing sorcerer. Simeon says he wished he could’ve had MC as a guardian angel and MC goes “wait…do angels even have guardian angels!?” and Simeon says …no. He then wishes them goodnight.
On the way to bed MC hears voices from the roof and goes to check it out only to find the other 3. The three of them are arguing about constellations. Mammon points out Scorpius correctly and calls Orphiuchus next to it the scorpion bearer, Luke says it’s the goat bearer, Mammon says “what even is the difference between scorpions and goats, Satan says they’re both wrong and MC says it’s the serpent bearer. They pull MC down beside them and Luke says Satan was telling them about the seven sisters and asks if they know what it’s called. MC gets to answer. Mammon asks if there’s a seven brother’s constellation and Luke says there is one in the Celestial Realm, with everyone knowing about the legend behind the constellation being about the brothers’ fall. Mammon asks what they’re like and Luke says they’re seven bright stars with three others watching over them. Luke says he doesn’t know what the three stars are supposed to represent and Mammon suggests it might be Michael, Luke says that’d be weird cause Michael only has two eyes so what’s the third one, Mammon suggests it could be like Michael’s nostril or something and I’m in genuine tears over this, my chest hurts from how much I laughed, Luke says that’s stupid and MC who is actually just as stupid as Mammon but who is also much better at hiding it suggest two eyes and a mouth, Luke goes “…heeeeh?” finally realising one of his role models is a dumbass before he starts protesting asking why the two of them are so fixated on it being two eyes, Satan suggests that they might represent demons, angels and humans and luke says that feels right (personally I think they’re Michael, Raphael and Simeon) Mammon suggests the human star would be MC and Satan agrees. (okay so I think the seven brothers stars are completely BS. Why? Because Michael and the angels had no idea Satan existed. Hell even Lucifer didn’t know until Satan was born after they fell. Michael would have had no relationship with Satan, hell they’ve never even met, for him to be sentimental and it makes no sense that a place Satan has never really been to would have a star for him. They would have a star for Lilith though. That makes sense. But the story of Lilith’s death and probably even her existence seems to be very securely hidden away considering even Luke who’s so close with Michael doesn’t seem to know why the brothers fell. The angels wouldn’t have named stars after the brothers immediately after their fall and it would have taken time for them all to heal, reach a place of forgiveness and start to grieve and miss what they’d lost. So I bet by this time, the news that there was a seventh brother had come up and the angels in the know jumped at the chance to use him as a cover story for the seventh star rather than admit a girl was killed over falling in love and then using her powers to heal a human. So yeah. The seven brothers stars feel like utter BS. Seven siblings on the other hand…). Mammon tells Luke to hurry up and get on with it and Luke gives MC the star of generosity. Luke thanks them for everything, saying that though they didn’t find a fairy ring he had fun and made good memories, he then thanks them for always being there for them all.

since I’m more or less back in business I feel it’s past time I ramble about another au I will (probably) never write. I’ll start off simple with an amphibia owl house au I was thinking up last night at work. (slight disclaimer that I have not seen any of season 2 yet so this is with exclusively information through the end of season 1). Concept below the cut cause it’s a pretty extensive one.
The concept starts at the same point the owl house does, more or less. Camila is concerned, Luz is getting sent to summer camp etc. etc. This time she gets distracted by an unusually pink frog hopping into the woods, and decides she probably has time to go chase after it. So she follows it into the woods until she suddenly trips over something and falls to the ground, turning around she sees it to be a music box sticking out of the forest floor. Curious, she digs it up and starts examining it. She thinks it’s really pretty and she’s about to open it when she hears voices coming from nearby and goes to check it out.
She finds Willow and Amity in a small clearing, think essentially the scene in the actual owl house where she sees them for the first time, except here they’re both human, though Luz doesn’t know them because they both go to some pretentious private school, Amity because she’s a Blight so she had to, and Willow because she got a scholarship for it and didn’t have the heart to tell her dads she didn’t really want to go. The scene plays out in a similar fashion to how it does in the actual show, with the exception that this time without the magic element Luz doesn’t feel the need to keep hiding and instead marches up from her hiding place to chew out Amity for being a jerk. Unfortunately she stumbles on a tree root as she approaches and, still holding the music box, accidentally pops the lid open.
So that’s how the three of them get transported to Amphibia. I like the idea of taking the setup and world of Amphibia, which we’ve seen through the lens of the characters that got transported all being close “friends”, and coming at it from a different perspective, i.e. one of them is a complete stranger to the other two and the two that do know eachother are already not on very good terms going in. (Amity and Willow have essentially the same history in the au that they do in toh).
Luz is dropped right in the middle of Newtopia, and while she’s very excited about the prospect of a fantasy adventure, she’s also pretty worried that she has no idea how to get back home, and she doesn’t take to the city as well as Marcy did. Part of this is due to her having her doubts about the ruler of Amphibia, who in this case is not Andrias, but Lilith(I understand Belos is probably a more fitting character for the role but I just don’t know enough of his character or really care about him enough to implement him, so Lilith it is! She’s more interesting for the setup anyway, depending on what Andrias’ weird master thing ends up being, maybe that would be a belos type deal but honestly I’d probably just not implement that part into this. If you can’t tell this is much less a “amphibia but with the owl house cast” and more of a actual approach to writing something new with the old setting and characters).
This is mostly due to the fact that, while wondering around the city attracting suspicious stares from newts that have never seen someone like her before, she ends up bumping into a newt who appears to be running from the majority of the city guards. They both fall down and Luz helps her stand up, a showing that is enough to convince the guards that, whatever the weird creature is, it’s in league with the felon, so they begin chasing her too. The criminal newt, who is of course Eda, takes pity on her and brings her along to her hideout, where she meets a weird little robot that insists she refer to him as King. He begins to declare that his full title is “King of...” and then kinda falters off as he seems to realize he actually isn’t quite sure what he is. Luz gives Eda a concerned Look but she just kinda shrugs it off and says he always does that.
Luz finds out that Eda deals in the trade of questionable artifacts and considers herself pretty lucky to find someone like that as soon as she did, and she asks if Eda knows anything about a music box, describing it as best as she can, because she didn’t really think to take any pictures. For her part, Eda is pretty sure what it is, and that’s the moment where she resolves to watch over Luz, at first just because she’s Concerned the box is back in Amphibia, though it eventually ends up that she gets a soft spot for the kid.
Though Luz doesn’t find out a good deal of this until later, and it’s gradually, Eda is still Lilith’s sister here, meaning that yes, she had equal claim to the newtopian crown, but the history of the crown never sat well with her (i.e. she finds out newtopia was built on the foundation of bloody conquest, along with the fact that it’s encouraged they want to get back to that point and nopes out of there). While she’s on her way out she starts off her new life of stealing shiny things by grabbing a weird little statue that had always seemed kinda off to her. She figures she could sell it at least, but while looking over it after escaping she realizes that it isn’t a statue at all, but what she decides must have been a defective robot from newtopia’s past, being much smaller and more... expressive? Than it should have been. For some reason she decided to try fixing it, and though it took a good deal of time she eventually got it to work again, which is how she came to be friends with King.
Luz’ story is largely slice of life relationship building with her, Luz, and King, until the point where the path to the valley opens, and the three of them go on what Luz finds out is an annual trip Eda takes around the valley to see if she can find anything interesting to add to her stand, as well as find new customers in the valley. Luz figures if she has a shot at finding either of the two girls she came with, and hopefully the box too, it would be on that trip.
Willow gets thrown into Toad Tower before she even realizes what’s happening to her. She has no idea where she is, didn’t even get a good look at Luz before the teleportation happened back on earth, and is overall not having a great time. She’s not convinced she’s not dreaming until she’s literally tossed into her cell and the impact hurts enough that she’s sure she’s really there. At first she believes she’s alone in her cell until she hears an awe-filled voice ask what she is and why she’s there. She isn’t able to figure out where the voice is coming from until a tiny blue frog jumps up on her hand. She introduces herself as a human, which gets him very excited, and he introduces himself as Gus, explaining that he was thrown in prison for “almost kind of knowing things he shouldn’t” as he put it.
It turns out Gus is something of a scholar, though he admits that most frogs are more inclined to call him a crazed conspiracy theorist. All of his studies have to do with mysterious other worlds and their inhabitants, which he has always been stubbornly insistent do exist. He’s overjoyed that he finally has “a real life specimen!!” and Willow is excited enough at the idea that there might be someone who actually knows what happened to her that she lets that comment slide. She quickly finds out what the meaning behind his weird prison sentence is, as she brings up getting sent to this world from another, and he attempts for a wise nod as he goes “ah yes, you must have experience an encounter with the calamity bucket.” Still he’s kind of helpful and he and Willow get along pretty well, so they end up hanging out together for the rest of the story, he basically tags along everywhere with her Jiminy Cricket style.
Amity has arguably the hardest time adjusting to the world she suddenly finds herself in, as she ends up in the forest on the outskirts of Wartwood, and promptly determines that this is the worst thing that’s ever happened to her. Despite having the box that “weird girl” used to send them here, opening it and closing it over again provided no help at all, and trying to go into Wartwood provided even less. Still being in Full Blight mindset she is really haughty and superior and the townspeople do not take it well. Even deducing Toadstool as the only persons superficial enough to potentially care about her status, she can’t get anything out of him cause he views her as a massive publicity risk, which he’s already not doing super well at.
The only frogs in the village that seem to not turn away from her immediately are a mischievous pair of frog twins that joke around and mess with her, and though it’s all lighthearted she’s stubborn enough at first that when they do offer to help her out she flat out refuses them. Eventually between living in a cave and their hanging around her whenever she’s in town anyway she’s worn down enough that she begrudgingly accepts their offer of help.
Not being Blights in this au has done a good deal in the way of making Edric and Emira happier. While they’re just as much of tricksters as they always are, and they occasionally overstep a little in their jests, they’re quick to apologize, and lack any of the actual malice behind their knack for causing trouble. The two of them run one of the stands in the marketplace, something they get Amity to help out with eventually as the town warms up to her. The two of them find it easier to grow closer to Amity than the rest of the town does, maybe it’s cause they’re the only ones who have really tried, or maybe it’s cause they’ve got a reputation for being trouble in the town already anyway. Whatever it is Amity gets begrudgingly closer to them until she eventually refers to them as her siblings once, and though they refuse to let her hear the end of it for a few days, they’d been calling her their little sister since the beginning, and while Amity had been certain for a long time they were just doing it to mess with her she starts to like it eventually.
Like in Amphibia, the three girls all represent one aspect of the Heart, Strength, Mind trio. Figuring out what those all are takes a lot more for these girls than it does for the amphibia trio though. The focus of this story is less on the relationships the characters have, though that is definitely a part of it, and more on the attributes their assigned to and the personal growth they have. Each of them holds the attribute that is both their strongest and most repressed. The three all hold themselves at very little value in the areas they’re actually the strongest in, and through their journey in Amphibia they start to learn.
Willow had always believed that strength was an inherently negative thing. Strength equated to power, and people who had power used it to hurt others, without fail. People like, well, Amity. She prefers gentleness and peace, and to her that and strength is mutually exclusive. She reacts to the concept that she could be charging the box with the attribute of strength very negatively.
Through her time in Amphibia she gets to learn that her strength can come in different forms, and while she is undeniably strong physically, her physical strength is nothing compared to her emotional resolve and capacity to extend that emotional resolve in the strength of heart to pick up the people around her when they need it. She does, though, get to learn that power isn’t something that is inherently evil, and even that if she uses the strength she has to protect the things that are important to her, that doesn’t mean she’s forsaken any of the things believes.
aka she gets to punch a heron in the face. Boscha (captain of toad tower) is very impressed, though she pretends she isn’t. Speaking of Boscha, she gets to experience a similar development to Willow, but more on the reverse side of the coin. Having always been powerful, and that having always been enough to make her more important than everyone else, Willow strikes her as weak at first, given her lack of aggression. The longer she stays stuck with Willow though, the more she comes to realize some important things, foremost among them being that Willow could totally kick her ass, and just chooses not to, which isn’t something Boscha understands at all, and Willow ends up teaching her how to be more of a person than a weapon, even just leading by example.
Much to Willow’s complete disbelief, (she swears to Luz the box is broken and they’re doomed), Amity is the heart. Amity doesn’t really believe it either. Strength would’ve been Okay, but personally she would’ve picked the attribute of intelligence for her. It was like the box went through all the effort of looking into their souls and didn’t even bother to check her report card. Ludicrous. It doesn’t help her that her time in wartwood is miserable for a good deal of the start. For the first time in her life Amity isn’t perfect, and it’s all because there’s nothing to be perfect at in this stupid little town. She should have all the frogs praising her superiority, but literally None Of Them are impressed by her in the slightest. They didn’t even have a school!
The only thing Amity took to quickly in Wartwood was the town motto, resolving that she would be even slower to respect the citizens of Wartwood than they would her. This started off a bit of a rivalry between her and the town, but the longer she had the horrible influence of her parents replaced by the well meaning nagging from her frog siblings, and the more time she spent not being perfect because for once in her life she literally couldn’t be, she started to think it wasn’t so bad after all, and the little rivalry between her and the town became much less of a real one, and a lot more of the friendly banter type, though she couldn’t recall ever making a concious choice to do so it just sorta... happened.
Eventually she starts to think about the school she was initially so annoyed didn’t exist, and begins to wonder if really no one is gonna do anything about it being in ruins. Eventually, she starts going over to the ruined building and reading to whatever kids in wartwood were in the mood to listen. before she knew it she had built up the closest thing to a school Wartwood had in a while, and where she once would have felt a smug pride, she only felt a casual happiness that was new to her, but not entirely unpleasant.
Luz never would have considered herself good at any of the three options. She knows she’s not strong so that’s out. All the kids at school think she’s weird and she has no friends so she really doesn’t think the whole “heart” thing works in any capacity. But the only thing left besides that would be intelligence, and she’s had enough students and teachers alike call her out for being an idiot that she’s absolutely confident that isn’t it. It doesn’t help that since she’s with Eda, who actually knows what the box is, she ends up worrying over what she’s supposed to be from the very start. She spends a lot of the time before the valley opens up thinking the box made a mistake, and since she didn’t have any of the attributes it wanted it wouldn’t work again at all.
In the end she only finds out what she’s supposed to be through process of elimination. Knowing Willow is strength and Amity is heart she finally comes to the realization that she’s supposed to be intelligence, and her confidence crumbles. Of all the options that’s the one she’d been hoping it wouldn’t be the most. How could so many people be wrong after all? It was pretty unanimous back home that she didn’t really have much going on upstairs, and after hearing it enough time she had gotten around to believing it. Her path in the story  largely focuses on coming to terms with her own worth, despite her insecurities and the weight of everything she’s ever heard to the contrary constantly on her mind.
