their relationship is basically just mai being a cold asshole and zuko being an angry asshole and there’s no change or development between EITHER OF THEM

bros to lovers guys, where zuko falls first but sokka falls HARDER !!!

ik this will never be canon and im happy with that. i know there’s not even a whisper of romance between them in the show, but i just think it’s c u t e .

sokka (like suki) is very likely to call zuko out on his shit, but less likely to lose his own shit (like katara)

this in my heart of hearts is 10/10 however is still problematic in a similar way to zutara

however though, i would still say it’s not as ruhroh as zutara bc firstly, sokka isn’t a waterbender, and secondly, ‘consort’ is a lot more open to interpretation than i think fire lady is. in my opinion a consort ≠ a fire lady, just like irl a consort ≠ a queen. it kinda means he can still be ambassador to the southern water tribe/a leader of his own people, while just so happening to be married to the fire lord.

Chris waited for the right moment to tell you he liked you. But he was also terrified of doing so. His commitment issues of being in a relationship are in the way again. Fortunately, that didn’t stop the two of you from acting like a couple. Which was very obvious to everyone else.

You and Chris had decided to stay inside for most of the day. Mostly because it had started pouring rain, but also because Matt and Nick had decided to go to target without the two of you. They didn’t want to disturb their brother and their best friend’s slumber. 

“I really think those two will be together by the end of the week,” Nick spoke quietly as he and Matt climbed in the car.

“Wanna bet?” Matt challenged his brother. “$10”

Nick contemplated, sighing, “fine.” 

Meanwhile you and Chris were still fast asleep tangled up in each other.  You were the first one to wake up. You ended up scrolling on your phone for a while, admiring random instagram models, mindlessly scrolling on tiktok and liking a few edits of the triplets. Of course, you would never tell Chris you have a whole collection of edits just of him.

You heard shuffling behind you, a slight grumble of noises before you felt the bed shift. His arm wrapped around your torso. “What are you doing?” Chris mumbled, sleep still heavy in his voice.

You set your phone down, moving to flip yourself to face him. “Waiting for you to wake up, doofus,” you giggled. It only took Chris about thirty minutes to stir awake as your phone was buzzing with random tiktoks.

“I’m hungry,” he pouted.

“Well go to the kitchen, kiddo.”

“Only if you go with me,” he smiled at you.

You shook your head, laughing, “fine.”

The two of you entered the kitchen. Chris immediately went to the fridge, grabbing a pepsi. You had grabbed a box of pancake mix and a few ingredients to make them. “Chris, I’m making pancakes, I don't care what you say,” you spoke up, grabbing a pan and a mixing bowl. He hummed in response. He grabbed his phone and sat in his chair at the table. You glanced over at him every now and then while you silently finished up the pancakes. You laughed quietly to yourself as you realized it was noon and you were making breakfast.

Approaching Chris with the freshly made pancakes, you put yours and his plate down, sitting beside him. You both ended up making small talk about a few things going on in both of your lives, not that there was much considering you do this everyday. But today felt odd, you could tell these past few days Chris had something on his mind, you just couldn’t piece it together. “Y/n, I’ve been meaning to say something to you,” he spoke up after a few minutes of silence. You nodded at him, encouraging him to continue. “I don’t really know how to put this-”

There was a slam from the garage door downstairs. “Fuck,” you heard Chris mutter before standing up to put his dish in the sink. You observed him, curious what he wanted to say, but before you could say anything Matt and Nick walked up the steps and saw the two of you.

“Y/n!” Nick beamed, excited to see his best friend awake. You heard Chris sigh in the background as Nick walked over to show you what he had bought. You decided to let go of the topic beforehand and engage with Nick’s ranting, nodding every few times.

You two had slept together once again. His arm loosely wrapped around your waist as he was cuddled up behind you. The only thing he wore were his black boxers. You had ended up wearing a cute pajama set that included shorts (maybe a little too small, but Chris didn’t mind… he actually loved it) and a tank top. The night before was pretty rough for you, considering you felt your mental health deteriorating. The only thing on your mind was sleep. You entered Chris’ room before he did, as he was still watching a movie with his brothers upstairs. You had said your goodnights and nodded at Chris as he looked at you, as if he was asking if you would be in his room or not. You quickly finished getting ready before slipping into the bed. Chris had entered the room, grinning softly at your figure as he shuffled beside you and closing his eyes, letting sleep engulf him.

The door slightly opened as Nick had come down to wake the two of you up. He was greeted with two figures sleeping peacefully as a spot of sunlight attempted to peek into the room. Chris had shuffled in his slumber a few too many times and somehow ended up fully entrapping you in his arms. Nick shook his head before speaking, “Kids, it’s time to get up.”

You heard Chris hum behind you, his hold on your waist tightening.

“Mmm,” you heard Chris mumble. You had slightly moved your head, barely opening your eyes. Meeting Nick’s as he shook his head at you two. Your lips parted, a toothy grin meeting the older triplet. Your eyes fell onto him, shrugging as the two of you heard Chris whine behind you. Nick ended up leaving the two of you in bed, assuming you’d get out of bed and come upstairs soon. You flopped onto your back, Chris mumbling something under his breath. “Did you sleep okay?” you heard him from beside you. You looked over at his figure, laying on his stomach with his arms under the pillow. His bare back in view. You smiled at him, nodding, reaching out and moving his fluffy hair out of his face.

“Did you?” you asked him. He nodded, his face smushed into the pillow. You giggled, before removing the sheets off of you. The cold air hitting your skin as you shuffled out of bed. Unbeknownst to you, Chris smiled at your figure while you shuffled through a few of the clothes you had in his closet. He decided to stand up and walk over to you, wrapping his arms around your waist. His chin resting on your shoulder, you could feel his breath hitting your neck softly. “Hi,” you breathed. He hummed in acknowledgement, deciding not to speak. You sighed, not ready to take on the day. 

“Hey, we can just take it slow today,” he hummed from behind you. He knew you have been struggling recently. Only a couple days ago, he arrived at your apartment only to notice how untidy it was. The kitchen sink was overflowing with dishes, your bedroom had a bunch of clothes on the floor and your laundry basket was overflowing even more. His heart ached, knowing this happened many times before, but he knew this time. This time he was there to help you pick up the pieces. You tried to shut him out, to not let anyone see you like this. But he forced his way into your life when this happened. And everytime you got out of the rut, you appreciated Chris even more. He helped you, asking if you wanted to sleep over at their house for a few days. A few days turned into a whole week. While you were asleep one morning, Chris woke up early just to arrive at your apartment and cleaned it without you knowing. He knew you wouldn’t have any motivation to do it, so he did it for you, without you having to ask. He came back that morning, grinning at your sleeping figure. He knew the past few nights were restless and his heart ached every time he saw your figure. You spent the past few days zoned out, no emotions spread on your face like it normally did. You’d cry yourself to sleep if you had it in you.

You felt Chris’ hands move up your arms, in a comforting motion, bringing you back to reality. You sighed heavily, “okay.”

The two of you had agreed to go to a tarayummy party, along with Nick. You were in the midst of a conversation with Tara, Chris had decided to stay near you, considering he knew how nervous you got at parties like this. Matt had stayed at home, reasonably. 

Chris stood behind you, his arms engulfing your neck. Both arms wrapped around your shoulders and intertwined together in front of your neck, resting loosely. Your hands instinctively reached up to loosely hold his arms. You glanced behind you, smiling at the action. Tara approached the three of you, as Nick stood idly by you and Chris. “Hey guys!” she happily remarked. You smiled at her.

“Hey girl,” Chris shouted over the music. “Enjoying the party?” He asked, smirking at the girl’s figure holding a glass of some type of alcohol. You giggled at the sight, grabbing the glass from the girl, examining it. You motioned at the girl asking if you could have a sip. Tara nodded, giggling and smirking. “Holy fuck, what even is this?” You shouted, handing the girl back her glass, coughing slightly. “I don’t even know, Jake gave it to me,” she shrugged. You nodded, swallowing the thick liquor. You felt a hand at your side, looking back and remembering that Chris stood behind you. His hand now squeezes your waist, comforting you as you swallow the liquor.

You heard Nick yelling something to Tara, something about how many people were actually here or something. “You okay?” Chris spoke up, looking at you still grimacing at the liquid you just swallowed. All you did was nod, but your face said otherwise. A look of disgust still written all over. “God, never let me drink from Tara ever again,” you laughed. He smirked at your reaction. “Here, have some of this,” he handed you his cup of pepsi. You grabbed the cup, sipping the liquid. “Oh god, I think I might throw up,” you held up your hand to your mouth, covering it before anything could come out. Chris laughed at your outburst, but concern was still etched all over his face. You looked at him, a smile across your face as you swallowed.

Another party of Tara’s and you came to the party with all three of the boys this time. Matt felt up to the party, surprisingly. The four of you walked through the doorway, seeing Tara in her natural habitat. She had on a sparkly silver dress, one that you’ve definitely seen her wear before. You glanced down at your outfit, a nicely-fitted black dress that hugged all the right curves on your body. You tilted your head up, immediately making eye contact with Chris.

“You look amazing, Y/n,” he smiled at you. “Thank you,” your cheeks flushed, nervously shifting your weight. Tonight felt different. You felt something change between you and Chris, as if Chris had something to say. Something just felt different and you didn’t know how to react to it. Pushing the thought to the side, you walked over to Tara, leaving Chris with his brothers, who was downing two shots in one go. 

“Hey girl, what are we drinking tonight?” You asked her, looking at the shot glasses. “Vodka for tonight,” she beamed at you. You felt a figure come up behind you, assuming it was Chris, you turned around, smiling. But you come face to face with a blonde haired guy. His arms were buff and his chest was close to your face. 

“Oh, um, hi,” you spoke quietly, but loudly enough for him to hear over the music blasting in the background.

“Hey, pretty girl, did you come here alone?” He smirked, shifting his body closer to yours. “Uh no, I didn’t-”

“Wanna dance?” He asked, shouting over the music. Your mind thought of Chris but you pushed it aside once you glanced at him with his brothers. Tara had already left the two of you as she had rounds of people to greet. You nodded, shrugging as you thought nothing of it. You quickly downed the shot that Tara gave you before placing the shot glass down on the table and following the guy to the dance floor. Unbeknownst to you, Chris watched intently at the interaction between you and this random guy he’s never seen before. Chris’ jaw clenched as he watched the guy grab your waist as you danced in front of him. He didn’t know why he began feeling like this. You weren’t even his girlfriend, but he couldn’t imagine you being with anyone else. Almost as if his need for you accelerated beyond belief,  he stood up from the booth he sat in with his brothers and a few friends. Their gaze immediately fell on his figure, rage radiating off of him.

“Woah, Chris, are you okay?” Nick spoke up as he exchanged looks at Matt.

“Fine,” he clenched his teeth, seething with rage. Before either one of his brothers could say anything, Chris was already stomping past the bodies at the party, his gaze falling on the two of you. The guy barely realized what was happening before he was being shoved to the side. “What the fuck?” You yelled at Chris, seeing his chest heaving up and down. You could tell something was wrong.

“Fuck off,” he shoved the guy away from you. You watched, eyes widening at his outburst.

“Chris, what the fuck is wrong with you?” You shouted. All you heard was a huff escape his lips, before he grabbed your wrist and dragged you away from the man. You shot an apologetic look at the boy before you were no longer able to see him. Chris had taken you outside on the patio where a few people were. Most of them looked like they had a drink in hand or a blunt. You shook your head at the sight but were quickly brought back to reality when Chris smashed his lips on yours. Almost possessively, he grabbed your waist and pulled you closer to him. Your lips molded with his, the passion radiating off his lips heavily. You pulled away quickly, a look of confusion etched on your face.

“What was that?” you asked.

He looked at you, “I like you, y/n.”

You stared at him in disbelief.

“I’m serious. Like I really like you. So much. I can’t get you off my mind. I want to wake up next to you every morning and go to sleep lying next to you in my bed every night. I want to be able to call you mine, y/n. I love you, y/n. I love you so much, it consumes me everyday. I know I’ve said I don’t think I could ever find a girlfriend or a girl in general that could sweep me off my feet. But I did. I found you and you’re not just my best friend. I love you, y/n. ”

Your mouth opened and closed a few times, unable to form words. He watched you with unease, unable to read your expression. Your shoulders dropped, your eyes softening as you reached your hand up to his cheek, caressing it, before leaning up and colliding your lips once again.

“I love you, too, Chris.”

The two of you spent the rest of the party side by side. A newfound love radiating off of you both. Nick and Matt both questioned you when Chris dragged you back inside, hand in hand. But something was off.

“Um, did we like, miss something?” Nick piped up. Chris spent a few minutes explaining, but his hands never left your waist. 

“I fucking knew it, Matt give it to me,” Nick motioned his hand out to Matt’s. Matt huffed before grabbing his wallet out of his pocket and pulling out a ten dollar bill.

“Did you guys bet on this?” you spoke up. They both nodded, smiling cheekily.

“You bastards!” you gasped, but you couldn’t help but smile.

It was the morning after Tarayummy’s party. Chris had spent all night showing his love to you. The two of you spoke about everything, from how scared Chris was about commitment to how lucky you were to have him. You both declared your love for each other that night.

The birds were chirping softly in the background. You felt a weight behind you shift, Chris mumbling something under his tongue as his eyes fluttered open. You shifted yourself to turn around facing him.

“Hi,” you spoke softly, a smile across your face. You watched as his lips turned upwards, his gaze falling on your face.

“Hi,” he grumbled, his morning voice evident. You felt his arm wrap around your waist, pulling you closer to his figure. You giggled, before speaking up.“How did you sleep?” All you heard was a hum before he smothered his face in your neck. Chris couldn’t help but inhale your familiar scent. His arm tightening around your waist. You felt his lips on your neck, placing soft kisses all over. You hummed, content with this gesture. You could wake up to this every morning.

How long does the process take you to get one (or more) comic page done? I love the idea of making comics but i suck at structure, you know with the script and posting/layout. I was wondering if you had any tips or what you wish you knew before you started.?

OOOooooo a fun question for me!! I love talking about comic creation :D

I do my best to keep the full process under 2 days (or 12-14 hours of work) per fully coloured page. I'm trying to get faster, but speed comes with time and experience.

Hmmm as for tips and things I wish I knew... so many things... I should let it be known that I am an artist and not really a writer, but your questions are focused on script/planning/structure, so I'm going to focus the advice on that.

Start with something small - Learn about making comics and find a comfortable style through making a couple smaller comics and then try your passion project. Writing and planning smaller comics with fewer pages takes a different kind of puzzle solving and thought process. Smaller page limits can force you to try new things which you can then apply to larger projects to save time; limitations breed creativity after all. Every attempt made (even an unfinished project) is knowledge gained that you can apply again for future projects.

Study comics! - It's hard to create if you aren't feeding the mind and giving it things to learn and create from. Read comics made by professionals and study how they handle pacing. How many pages are they dedicating to each moment? What do you think of their pacing and what would you change? Take a sketchbook and make small rectangles and draw out the panel layout from that comic. What are they doing that works and what don't you like about it? How would you do that differently? ... I think this is me assigning homework... i am so sorry.

Set a hard page limit - Try to get your story told within that limit, and then add more pages if necessary. More pages = more time you have to spend working on it. Most standard single issue American comics are roughly 24 pages. I try to work inside that limit using a rough 5 page per scene structure.

Condense or Cut - I struggle so hard with this one, but comics aren't written in the same way as a novel is. They have a slightly different plot structure and a much more limited amount of pages to tell the story in. Obviously it depends on the story being told, and what kind of scenes are important to that genre of story, but in general, unnecessary scenes should be cut out. examples...

CUT! Having the characters go out to get ice cream is cute, but you don't need to show them each ordering their ice cream unless the flavour they choose is an important plot point. Skip to the last one receiving their ice cream and turning to the others who already have theirs and are having that deep discussion. OR skip that scene entirely and have a quiet panel of them sitting in the park at sunset, already holding their ice cream, before delving into the deep emotional conversation they will be having.

CONDENSE! You can combine two scenes if you need to. If you have one scene where two characters are having a casual conversation and another where they are sneaking into a building? Stick them together. They can sneak AND talk and now you've only used up 5 pages instead of 10.

Comics take a LONG TIME to make!! - you have to make peace with that _(:Ⅰ」∠)_ Comics, especially full colour ones, are an extremely labour intensive and time consuming way of telling a story. If one page takes 1 day (8 hrs of work) and you have 24 pages, that is 24 days of working on one comic.

Thumbnails! - Draw the pages small and rough first! It's easier to plan things and mess around with the layouts when you don't have an emotional attachment to how the art inside looks. Once you have a layout you like, you can then draw it again in full page size and work on it from there.

Page and panel layouts are my favourite part of the whole process, I could talk forever about it, but I do not have the energy for it right now. I'll save panel/page layout for another time.

It doesn't have to be perfect!!! - IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE PERFECT!!!! (shouted with excitement btw). Panels can be boring! A page can be extremely simple! The art can be messy! The dialog can be simple! The plot can go nowhere! In fact it is really really fun to make a messy imperfect comic on purpose. Destroy the perfectionist in you, because they will always and forever hold you back from actually creating things. "what if it's bad?" what if it's fun? what if you learn cool things?

Anyway, those are my tips/advice, idk if I actually answered what you were asking... sorry about all the time commitment ones, that is something I really wish I had figured out a few years ago lol.

Comics are fun to make and a lot of learning how to make them is just jumping in, encountering a problem, and then learning how to solve it.

Hello, and welcome to a series that I would like to call "what does an anti have to say", in which I watch a bunch of anti-proship videos to see if they can turn me into an anti!

Today, we are going to be watching "An Ex Proshippers advice" by Loki ZeGaymer. I found this video through someone on here (tamarahtalkstv), so major thanks to them for even making their own post about this and inspiring this whole thing.

Will I stop being anti harassment? Will I give up on blocking content I don't like?? Am I going to stop shipping bad ships (even though I keep it to myself 9/10 and have only mentioned my comships twice on this account)??? Will this be my last post before deactivating???? Let's find out together!

An obvious disclaimer, because the fact that I have to say this fucking sucks: don't harass this person. Being proship is all about being anti harassment, and if you can't be a decent human being over fiction, you are the issue. We are all humans, treat each other as such.

One of the first things that becomes obvious right off the bat, that actually gives this video so much more credibility than most others, is that this person used to be a proshipper! This is a very common rhetorical device, known as ethos. Believe me, I hate ethos, pathos, and logos discussions, but they exist for a reason. The fact that this person used to be a proshipper is them saying that they have experience with such things and can understand what they're talking about, in a way. They say both in the video and in the caption that they used to be a proshipper, so if you'd actually want to see how antis think, this could be helpful since they've been on both sides.

Although, an odd thing that seemed to show right after is the story of how they became a proshipper. The claim that they got groomed into proshipping is a common one, and I'm not surprised. Believe it or not, fiction can be used to spread ideas and connect to vulnerable individuals. My initial issue with this is that this wording, that they were groomed into proshipping, acts like proshipping in general is what caused this. Any type of fiction, even "legal" fiction, can lead to this.

I've had people in their 20's say that if they were my age, they'd have a crush on me. We met through harmless roleplaying. I was in a toxic relationship with someone I met through roleplaying, who happened to be an anti. Off topic, but I'm starting to think that roleplaying is the issue...but you get my point. Any and all type of fiction can be used against people. I know that toxic ex of mine did use "legal" fiction against me, and that's just how it is. Fiction can be used for malicious purposes. Any and all types.

(Also, jfc their ex sounds awful. Idgaf that they were 16-17, wdym you groomed a 14 y/o while in an online cult??? Ik this is about proshipping, but I genuinely hope they've recovered from this. Again, I speak from experience, that ex deserves to go to hell and back - and I'm the least religious person on this planet.)

Now, I'm gonna paraphrase, bc I don't wanna rewatch the clips 6383 times in order to get the exact quote. At 3:03, their claim is that "I've been groomed by multiple people, all of whom were proshippers. This contradicts their claim that fiction doesn't affect reality." All I'm gonna say, is that people who think fiction DOESN'T affect reality are stupid.

I feel giddy when I read cute fanfiction, I cry over sad scenes, I use it to cope! Fiction is affecting my reality, because I have let it. Fiction is affecting my reality, but not on a 1:1 basis. I'm a huge horror fan, I've been like that since about 3rd/4th grade. By this logic though, I'm a mass murderer, abuser, cult leader, and overall the embodiment of evil. Last time I checked, I've never killed a person.

At 3:39, they begin to talk about getting doxxed. I'm starting to think this person is like, my long lost twin bc I also got doxxed a while back, but not for being a proshipper. Ironically enough, that is exactly why they got doxxed. I haven't moved on past this part, but I'm going to make a prediction: I'm hoping that they say that this was wrong, they nobody deserves this, and that this is something that antis shouldn't do no matter how wrong proshipping may be. Was I right? Well...

Uh they didn't mention it at all past that. They didn't like, say "that's wrong", but instead they mention that they got therapy, and thank goodness for that! Idc that they're an anti, getting groomed and doxxed is not something you go through and be completely fine after. They say that they got therapy specifically for the abuse and not for the comshipping, which I agree with, esp since my own therapist agrees that people do use comshipping as a way to cope.

4:12, and now we're moving onto the whole anti-harassment claim. Oh no.

I haven't moved past that as of writing this part, but I'm willing to bet that they're gonna say "you can't be anti harassment and a groomer" which I agree with. Although that's just common sense. I don't think that it'll be worded right though because that'll just continue that idea that ALL proshippers are groomers, which this video literally contracts because I have faith that this person wasn't a groomer ever, esp not as a proshipper.

"They claim to be anti harassment while invalidating my trauma and misgendering my best friend." So that's a false claim and does not represent every proshipper...many proshippers are trans and use comshipping to cope with their trauma. If they're doing this while doing what you've claimed them to be doing then they'd be hypocritical. I am very lucky to have not experienced that myself, and I've never seen a proshipper harass anybody, but I don't doubt they exist.

"Even if someone is a proshipper, you shouldn't be harassing them; especially if they're a minor" common sense we love to see it <3

"Just stop and seek some help. It's not that hard to seek therapy." but for some it IS HARD. The fact that I can go to therapy and get treated for my anxiety is a privilege that so many do not have. Do NOT act like therapy is so easily accessible. For many, it is not. They said the same thing at the end for adults as well...

We don't blame horror movie directors for people being inspired by their movies to commit murder. Why is it a proshippers fault when someone thinks pedophilia and incest is okay? I know many people who write and create that type of content will explicitly state that they're against it irl.

So, that's just a bunch of yapping... what's my actual thoughts on this?

In my opinion, while this person is very, very brave for sharing their story, and I can only hope that they've managed to recover from everything that happened, I cannot help but disagree. A singular story is not going to convince many people that they're in the wrong, especially when the video was marketed as "advice" and the only thing said was "get help".

In the beginning, they said they didn't know they were a proshipper, which explains why they're even using the term proship in the first place! Proship is "don't like don't read" and being anti harassment. What they're discussing is comshipping, and not every comship is bad. It could literally just be mortal x immortal. Yup, that's a comship!

tldr: i was not convinced. this person was respectful, and I'm very glad, however I do not agree with this opinion. this video seems like it was made for antis rather than existing proshippers, as their advice was lackluster. I rate it a 4/10, and I am still a proshipper.

Erica and Yuzuyan's rambling talk

The close combination of Hirakawa-chan, known as Yuzuyan, and Erica appear for the first time in ViVi. During this photoshoot, we could feel the close friendship between them, as they giggled and talked the whole time. We asked alot about these two, who are a hot topic right now.

-Our youth is now! Anyway…I'm so glad we met~!-

"What do you call each other?"

Erica: Everyone calls her Yuzuyan.

Yuzuki: I've never had a nickname before, but I got one for the first time on set (laughs). I call her Marie.

Erica: I think everyone at ViVi was surprised to call me by that name. Actually, my real middle name is Marie, and everyone on set of the show calls me Marie. I'm so happy about my secret name~

"What is it like on set?"

Yuzuki: We chat alot while waiting to film. There's the 6 of us filming together, and when we've all gathered, it's like break time at school (laughs). It's so loud and noisy!

Erica: Someone will get into things, someone else will join in and do something stupid, and so on and so forth (laughs). Every day is jam packed with inside jokes. It's silly, but the 6 of us spending time together is so much fun~.

Yuzuki: We've been filming together almost every day for 10 months, so our friendship levels are amazing. From the very beginning, when we first started filming, we were all in perfect sync and got along well. But, when the cameras start rolling, everyone gets serious. It's amazing how everyone's faces change so quickly!

"What kind of personalities do you two have?"

Yuzuki: Marie is, in a single word, a bomb (laughs). Marie's explosive power when she's tired is insane (laughs). She'll suddenly explode and become cheerful. And, we all get caught up in it and get excited too (laughs).

Erica: We spend so much time on the set, that if we don't talk, I get sleepy, so I feel at ease exploding because everyone will pick up the pieces (laughs).

Yuzuki: She does things that go way beyond what you'd expect, so I never get tired of watching her. I'm like, "Even though you're so cute, why would you do something like this?" She's constantly one upping how interesting she can be (laughs). I can't tell if she's trying to be funny or if it's all natural.

Erica: Thanks for letting me do it, and for being on the receiving end (laughs). Yuzuyan is everyone's "straight man" older sister, but she can also be everyone's little sister.

Yuzuki: I'm often described as being a 5th grade boy~. We're the "mess around" combo.

"What does your existence mean to each other?"

Erica: After becoming an adult, I never thought I'd meet someone who I could mess around with so much, even more so through work!

Yuzuki: I'm so glad that someone like her exists, where we can joke around and laugh like this as friends 💜.

"What were your first impressions and current impressions?"

Yuzuki: I knew of Marie's modeling from reading ViVi, and I thought she was just so~ cute and looked like a doll. But, the more I learned about her, the more I thought she was like a bomb (laughs).

Erica: My first impression of Yuzuyan was that she was a very refreshing person. But in reality, she talks alot and is hyperactive (laughs). She notices things that other people don't see and takes the initiative to follow up, and is very considerate. From the very beginning, I felt like she was a dependable older sister. She's also good at remembering directions (laughs).

"How was today's shoot? How do you like Erica as a ViVi model?"

Yuzuki: When I look through ViVi, Marie is so cool…..she doesn't always look like this! It makes me want to get involved (laughs). She wears cool clothes and her expressions are amazing! It's so cool!!

Erica: This was the first time for the two of us to do a photoshoot together for a fashion magazine. I was happy to be able to work as a model like I usually do. We were able to shoot as our usual natural selves, which was alot of fun and very fresh. I thought it would be so much fun to shoot with someone who understands me.

Yuzuki: For today's shoot, she led me around alot, and I was impressed by the fact that she was such a great ViVi model!

"Do you see any similarities between yourself and the role you play in Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger?"

Erica: I think we share the same caring nature. However, I myself am not strong willed, so I admire her for that.

Yuzuki: I think we're similar in that we have humanity. We're both basically no nonsense, and we have our "on and off" switch. However, while my role is to be immovable, I'm actually extremely hyperactive, which is the complete opposite.

Okay,I’ll rank by personal taste since writing wise I think you would have to be too cold headed to evaluate.

With the exception of one , they are all book wise (i could rank the show ships later if you ask)

From less favorite to most:

10-Sergei and Marie: don't like either character so there are not strong feelings here, the impact is more interseting than the ship

9-Mayu and Isaak: they were boring together, the chemistry was just "eh" , just like before the impact was more interesting than the ship but this one actually needed you to care, which i did but also no, i cared abotu them as characters but not as a couple. Only ranking them higher because i like both characters

8-Tamadia: please don't hang me for this , i wish i could like them more but their writing was kind of lazy, i felt Leigh wrote everyone to have their perfect match, made Zoya , Nikolai and Adrik wait for someone she thought would be good for them but with Tamadia she just paired her with the remaining girl with no real exploration of what they have in common or why they lile each other. I get why Nadia likes Tamar(who wouldn't like her?) but i don't see why Tamar likes Nadia because she is a very lacking character that Leigh keeps insisting is a main one. I am sorry but i read RoW and kept thinking "wish Tamar wasn't married cause she´d be more interesting if paired with Ehri" i shouldn't think that, Leigh never gave them plenty to work with mostly like i said: Nadia hardly was a defined character.

I will say positive things: their existence made homophobes rabid , and it makes Tamar happy, also she is very gentle and romantic in her relationship which is a funny callback on how Sergei said he believes Tamar would be harsh with her future husband.

7-Fivan (show only) /Adreoni: I put on a tie because the things i can say about one can be said about the other: they are fine, they are cute and the reason they are both above tamadia is that despite having less screentime, they do have a pretty defined dynamic so you know how they are behind the scene. I wouldn't say they are the same ship, but they have similar principles in one being grumpy and the other being happy. While i am very skeptical of romance tropes as a basis to the whole ship when we are talking about main ships, in secondary characters it works fine and give personality to otherwise characters with limited screentime.

6-Genya x David : This will be hard to explain, they are cute, i can't place them higher because my liking goes to more balanced couples. Which is very likely related that this are two secondary characters while the higher ranked are at least two mains. The thing is it took me a while to warm up to them.

I´ll explain so i give a better picture: Before the "I know metal scene" i honestly didn't really care about the couple, to me it was just pairing the secondary characters, but i melted at David´s speech. But i can't rank them higher if it took me that long. It´s NOT bad writing, i am not saying that, it´s just what happens when it´s two secondary characters. And btw, it was more personality than the average secondary x secondary in other YA books, so it´s not a place to shame (i just feel the need to apologize to put my beloved David so low)

5-Hanne x Nina: I think the reason they don't make a bigger impresion is that the writing is more focussed on each them as characters than their relationship, which is a sacrifice i can respect. They still have good chemistry, to Leigh it was clearly a challenge to not make Helnik 2.0 (people don't give her credit on how she manages to make it romantic and still respecting fan`s love for Helnik) and i´ll say she acomplishes it. I think the issue is that they are actually too good together so there´s not a lot of room for conflict which leaves me wanting for more, it could have been more interesting, but definitely i am not worried about Nina finding someone that understands her and it´s pretty clear why they are so good for each other.

4-Malina: I don't know how i would feel about it if people wouldn't be so vocal about them being abusive or something. Like, people lower your expectations as crazy, i think Mal could use a bit of more focus on his identidy but thats mostly because tgt would have worked better with a multiple pov. As it is, yeah they are adorable, maybe less original in dynamic than the previous ones but the portrayal of their love for each other is very genuine. It has flaws, maybe some parts were too mean but i don't think it´s something that will cause a future problem, they seemed to have put their act together by the end of Ruin and Rising. And most of the most romantic scenes is between them, Leigh doesn't shy up in giving them casual afection, which is pretty cute.

3-Helnik : I have to reread the books every now and then to remember I do like them, because between the awful netflix portrayal and a good chunk of the fandom. However, despite that the ship itself it´s pretty well written, specially since a lot could have gone wrong. My feelings aren't as strong as it used to be, but they are still pretty good if you turn off the fans that clearly don't understand it and only care about the sexual or tropey etl aspect. If you want an actual problem with canon helping it may be that i never undestood why Nina fell in love with Matthias pre character develoment. Post develoment yes i can see it, but before that not really, nothing that ruins it, just places it lower.

2-Zoyalai & Kanej (shared 2nd) I am not saying a lot here because, what can i say? you people know they are both god (nope, didn't forgot an o) i don't need to sell it to you. Let´s say this: my head said Kanej, my heart said Zoyalai, so they will have to share.

ZN: Not my first GV but definitely the one i started shipping faster, i needed just a couple of sentences because their chemistry is that good. I was writing "Sometimes i like them more than Kanej, just sometimes" then i realized, yeah, i will have to put them both in two"

KI -: objetively they are the better one, they have an unique dynamic,subverts plenty of harmful stereotypes and have great scenes, I kind of like the irony that the best couple in the Grishaverse is the one that features no grisha character. But like i said, this was a personal ranking so...

1-Wesper: I have a lor of personal feelings about this, i think its a bit underrated in a way because people think they don't have a lot of drama like Kanej or Helnik but it´s kind of what i like it, i feel it realistic because it´s two people with their own problems leaning on each other. Also, their versatility to work in many aus is great, not to say it´s the ship in soc you actually get to see fall in love since the previous was mostly flashbacks , not saying they are better (like i said, i think Kanej is better objetively) but just more appealing to me. Also well, Jesper being my favorite and Wylan being the fourth help a lot.

Dogma skeptically looked at the entrance to fairgrounds before them. Tup was yanking on his hand to hurry up, but he wasn't in a rush to join the mob of families trying to push through the ticketing booth and gate. If he was being honest, it was a bit overwhelming and seemed terribly unsafe, even with the security checkpoint and security personnel.

"C'mon!" Tup said, eager as ever. "The line's getting longer."

Dogma groaned low in his throat, so Tup couldn't hear him, and then joined the line of guests waiting to get in. He didn't like loud or crowded places, and the fair was both. It was a miracle that Tup even convinced him to go in the first place, but he was so happy about it and begged him to go along, so he caved. Even though he knew Tup could take care of himself, he still didn't want him going alone.

While Tup purchased their tickets, Dogma was still looking around. It was old habits dying hard. He wanted to know where all the exits were located, the best vantage points for surveillance, and blind spots for hiding in case of an emergency. Tup always told him he worried too much, but the years of war seemed to take their toll on him differently. Tup was a free spirit, but he was guarded.

Dogma was pulled out of his thoughts when Tup tugged on his arm. He'd gotten their tickets, and now it was time to enjoy the fair, whatever that meant. It was even louder inside the gate than it was outside. Kids were running around and screaming, adults were yelling and shouting at game booths, and the rides made loud mechanical noises. It was both uncannly familair and overwhelming.

"Hey," Tup said, a worried expression on his face. "Are you okay?"

Dogma swallowed the lump in his throat. "Yeah," he said, releasing a breath he didn't know he was holding in. "It's just... loud." Tup frowned, and Dogma immediately felt bad for dampening his fun. "But I'm good. Yeah."

"We can go home if it's too much," Tup said.

Dogma shook his head and took a deep breath. "No. I'm good. So, what do you want to do first?"

Tup smiled. "Well, we could go on some rides?" Dogma grimaced. "Or go see the animals?" Dogma shook his head. "Or eat some deep fried food?" Dogma shrugged. "Uh... We could play some games?"

Dogma perked up a little. Games he could do. It would still be a noisy atmosphere, but the games were outside, which meant they were less constricting and easy to walk away from. He hated that he had to go through so many hoops in his head just to enjoy his date, and it made him feel broken that Tup didn't have the same issue, but he didn't resent him for it. It was his hang-up, after all, not Tup's.

Dogma watched as Tup spun around slowly, eyeing each game in the vicinity to find the best one to play. When Tup stopped and his face lit up after spotting a good prospect, it made Dogma smile. "What'd you find?"

Tup grabbed Dogma's hand and led him down the narrow strip, past several game booths and rides. Dogma always appreciated when Tup touched him in places like this. It always grounded him and kept him calm, and Tup knew that, which is why he did it, oftentimes roughly. Other people might have thought it's too rough, but to Dogma, it was the perfect amount of contact and pressure.

"This one," Tup said as he stopped in front of a game booth. He tilted his head to the side and made a sweet face. "Win me a prize?"

Dogma raised an eyebrow and looked at the game. It appeared to be a shooting game, with a flimsy looking rifle and even flimsier targets. There was also a placard with rules on it, and he read through them quickly. The game seemed simple enough to win–ten shots for 10 targets, shoot all ten bullseyes to win the big prize–and he wasn't about to get anything less for Tup. But there was one thing he needed to ask before he proceeded.

"Can I get one practice shot?" Dogma asked. "To see which way the rifle leans?"

The worker at the booth shrugged and handed him the rifle. "Sure."

The rifle was lighter than any firearm Dogma had ever held, and the sights were crooked, but his brain started its calculations without further information. He lined up the sights to his best ability, waited for the breeze to shift, and then pulled the trigger. The bolt hit the target on the left side, just a few millimeters off center. The game worker went wide-eyed.

Tup grinned and gave the game worker the money for the round, now that Dogma got all the information he needed. He reset the rifle, aimed at the first target, and hit the bullseye. He reset the rifle, aimed at the next target, and hit the bulleye again. He repeated his success for the other targets, hitting each of their bullseye marks, then put the rifle down.

The game worker was flabbergasted and wordlessly motioned for Dogma to choose a prize from the top of the prize wall. He glanced at Tup and waited for him to pick one out. Tup pointed at the giant stuffed whale that was bigger and longer than him, and Dogma told the game worker to grab that one. The game worker handed it to Tup, and Tup beamed brightly as he squeezed it.

"Thank you," Tup said as they walked away from the game booth. The stuffed whale was comically large and blocked half of Tup's body.

Dogma snorted. "You're welcome."

Sabrina hasn't been around kids since she herself was one; the only time she interacts with them is if a gym challenger just happens to be a kid. So to say that she's inexperienced with children is an understatement. But she's a kind woman with a big heart, and has absolutely zero tolerance for child abuse (well, game Sabrina anyways). Seeing the awful state that the child was in, she took them under her wing immediately and vowed to give them a second chance at living a happy life.

Despite her cold and aloof exterior, Sabrina is actually pretty laid back and chill. She won't be particularly strict or overprotective, but she won't just throw the child to the wolves either. As soon as the adjustment period is over, she'd gift them an Eevee and task them with evolving it into an Espeon, though that's not to say she'd be disappointed if it accidentally evolves into an Umbreon or Sylveon, she'd just be proud to see her child's growth as a trainer and person. Having a partner Pokémon that's a psychic type would not only serve as a protector, but if the child has a panic attack, the Pokémon's psychic abilities could help calm them down.

Speaking of which, panic attacks and nightmares become a non issue. With Sabrina and her Pokémon's psychic abilities, the child could be hypnotized into falling peacefully asleep or winding down from a PTSD episode. She'd be careful not to overuse them, as she knows that she can't always be there to help the child, so she would research and teach them some healthy coping mechanisms which range from the more normal tricks like taking 10 deep breaths or squeezing a stress ball, to more outlandish things like biting into a lemon. Not particularly elegant, but if it works, it works.

Sabrina would love doing activities with the child. Once she reached adulthood, she realized just how much she genuinely enjoys spending time with other people, and her favorite person to be with, of course, would be her own child. She'd like to read to them before bed, do puzzles with them, bake with them, or just sit together while they each did their own thing.

There's a chance that being around Sabrina and her Pokémon constantly would lead to the child developing their own psychic powers. In that case, Sabrina would be an excellent teacher. Whether it be teaching them to have a better grip on their telekinesis, clearer telepathic communication skills, or making sense of their visions, Sabrina would be there to guide them every step of the way.

❀ Whitney

Whitney is... Well, a bit of a mess. I can see her being a great babysitter or older sister figure, but being a child's primary caregiver? Let's just say not a lot of "parenting" will be happening. Whitney is spontaneous and energetic, and that's reflected in the way she takes care of her child. She takes the child with her everywhere, and I mean everywhere. To the gym, the baseball field, the mall, the beach, to run errands, to hang out with friends. Whitney loves them to the moon and back, but she'd end up treating them more like an accessory than a human at times.

Whitney would make absolute certain that the child will always look and feel their very best. Lots of cute clothes and accessories, the best skin and hair care products on the market, and a lifetime membership to whatever the Pokémon equivalent of the YMCA is. Of course, all of those burnt calories are nullified by the amount of sweets Whitney shoves down their throat. She likes to spoil and be spoiled. What can she say?

Whitney is prone to crying and, well, tantrums. She's a very emotional person in general, so if the child is upset and crying, she ends up crying too. Whitney tries to keep herself together for their sake, she really does, but seeing her little angel break down tears her heart to pieces. She'll panic, which sometimes makes things worse, but she'll do absolutely whatever she physically can to calm them (both) down and make them happy again. In the end, Whitney figures out a routine and is able to calm them down quicker whilst also keeping her cool. Maybe she's not so bad at this whole parent thing after all.

Very protective of them. They're her little baby, why wouldn't she be? If Whitney spots anyone being mean to her kid, cute little immature Whitney vanishes and she goes full mama bear. And if God forbid a person or Pokémon tries to physically threaten them? They get a taste of Miltank's most powerful Rollout. She can come across at times like a helicopter parent. It's not that she doesn't trust the child, it's that she's genuinely interested in their life and wants to be able to connect with them. Friends, hobbies, likes and dislikes, she wants to know it all. Helps with picking out birthday gifts, too!

❀ Candice

10/10 soccer mom. Probably the most experienced (and most normal) caregiver on this list, though Skyla would be a close second. Anyway, Candice takes her role as a parent very seriously. She'd buy several books on parenting and even take a few parenting classes. She wants her child to have the best life they possibly can.

Candice wants her child to live and grow from their experiences. She's not the type to throw them out of the nest and leave them to their own devices, of course, but she'd try to teach them independence to the best of her abilities. This is a little easier said than done at the start considering the child's background, but Candice is willing to put in the work to help them thrive.

Snow hikes, ice skating, sledding, Candice would make sure that the child stays active and healthy. She'd make sure they were the only ones around if the child was too anxious to be around other people. Afterwards, she'd treat them to a nice big mug of hot cocoa.

I can see her homeschooling the child for the first year or two after the adoption, to help them adjust before throwing them into another unfamiliar situation. You'd think that she'd be running short on time thanks to her juggling her job as a gym leader, her social life, hobbies and now a child, but somehow she manages. Candice is pretty intelligent, so educating the child wouldn't be too big of a challenge. Additionally, she'd enroll them in any extracurricular activity they show interest in so they'd get some social interaction, though she'd try to find groups that were a bit on the smaller side at first to avoid them becoming stressed out.

Walkie-talkies would be kept on Candice's and the child's nightstands in case they're woken up from nightmares or have an anxiety attack and need comfort. Candice can wake up in an instant, so it's no bother to her. She'll stay up as long as they need, talking to them, listening to them ramble, or telling them stories. She wants them to know that they can rely on her, and that she'd never find them annoying or a burden.

❀ Elesa

Elesa has virtually zero experience with children, but not because she dislikes them. She likes kids, thinks they're fun. I picture her as somewhat of a vodka aunt. Always showering her child with gifts and trying to prioritize being cool and fun so they don't find her annoying.

To expand on that last part, Elesa is rich, that goes without saying. She could afford practically anything the kid wanted. They want these specific snacks from Johto? Elesa will buy them a month's supply. They're too anxious to play outside with the other kids? Elesa hired the best architects in the region to build them an indoor jungle gym. Not to mention that she made sure to hire a great therapist to help the child through their trauma.

Unfortunately due to both of Elesa's jobs being extremely demanding and time consuming, she's rarely ever home. She hates this knowing how upset the child gets when she's not around. To at least attempt to remedy this, once she's on break she will immediately start a video call with them to check in. She would also make sure they were surrounded with stuff to keep them busy, whether it be toys, games, books, movies or Pokémon to keep them company.

Elesa doesn't mind being woken up in the middle of the night from nightmares, as she's used to functioning on little sleep anyway. She'll invite them into her bed with her and lay their head on her chest, ask them to tell her about their nightmare as she gently runs her fingers through their hair to calm them down. Being a model is a stressful job, with having to deal with everyone's expectations of her to be perfect, so she understands stress and anxiety. If the child is too nervous to sleep alone, Elesa will wrap them in the softest blanket she has and let them cling to her arm for the rest of the night.

Elesa is very gentle and patient with them, especially at first, but she isn't going to let the child continue to live in fear for the rest of their life. She won't push them beyond their limits, but in the rare moments when she has some time to spare, she'll take them out on walks or to visit the amusement park. The world is so beautiful and has so much to offer, and she wants her child to be able to experience all of the wonder and good the world has to offer. Like previously mentioned, Elesa hired a therapist for them, and is also willing to do everything she can to help them heal.

❀ Skyla

Second best parent on the list. Incredibly bright and optimistic, Skyla can rather effortlessly turn anyone's negative mood into a positive one. Though the child's case is a little more than a "bad mood," Skyla is patient enough to take any issue that arises head on and with the utmost care. She's always liked kids, always treated them with kindness and respect, never talking down to them or belittling them because of their age. Children are humans too, just because they're young and still learning does not mean that they are stupid or that their feelings don't matter, Skyla believes this wholeheartedly.

The child is on a set schedule that prioritizes both health and fun. Early mornings with breakfasts that contain lots of fruit, then afterwards a morning ride in Skyla's airplane. Most of their time during the day is spent either outside or in the gym. Fresh air is good for the mind and body, and so is being around Pokémon! That's what Skyla thinks at least. Of course, if it all gets too overwhelming, Skyla will take the child to the gym's break room for a little recuperation. In the evening, the child is free to do whatever they please - within reason, of course. Skyla always makes sure to be nearby in case she's needed, but learning some independence early on never hurts.

Skyla spends a lot of time with her friends. She's a social butterfly, and maintaining her friendships is very important to her. She wants the child to have that kind of experience as well, so she'd encourage them to join clubs or attend camps. Sometimes, she'd bring them along on shopping dates with Elesa and Caitlin, who were both completely on board with taking the child to as many clothing stores as possible to play dress up. Not only does the child have a caring mother, but two aunts who love to spoil them.

Also gets the child in therapy immediately. Skyla's smart, but she's no professional when it comes to children's mental health, and she knows this. She wants her baby to be healthy and happy, after all. Whenever they have a panic attack, Skyla makes sure to remain as calm as possible, and carefully walk them through it. Do they need water? Do they need to go somewhere quieter? Do they want a hug? No matter how they respond, Skyla stays gentle with them. It's not their fault that they feel this way, or that the adults around them failed them. Skyla's heart aches for the poor thing, and she'll do whatever she can to help them recover from their trauma.

❀ Hilda

I wouldn't exactly call Hilda "motherly," but I'd say that "sisterly" would be an apt description. She's... well, a bit of a meathead. Her fiery personality can leave people a little winded after meeting her, especially if they aren't as passionate about battling as she is. Despite how seemingly one track minded she is, I firmly believe that she would take on the role of a caretaker instantly if a child needed her help. She'd just be a little clumsy at first, but thankfully, she has friends like Hilbert, N (who would also be a bit clueless, but would try his best to help), Bianca and Cheren, ESPECIALLY Cheren.

As soon as they were old enough, Hilda would take them to Professor Juniper (or Bianca) to receive their partner Pokémon. As I said, Hilda is very passionate about battling, and would want to share her interests with the child. Even if they're not particularly interested in it, a Pokémon would still be able to protect them if the need arises.

Every weekend, Hilda would take them out to get Casteliacones. I mean, who doesn't like ice cream? It would be a good way to bond, while also gently reintroducing them to public spaces. If they were too shy and nervous to order themselves, Hilda would have no issue ordering for them. She hoped that her confidence would one day rub off on them, but until then, she didn't mind if they hid behind her. She promised to protect them no matter what, and she never goes back on her word.

I'm not gonna lie, I don't think Hilda would even notice the nightmares at first. Girl sleeps like a ROCK. She would one morning notice how groggy and sickly the child looked and would ask what was wrong. When they tell her that they had a nightmare and weren't able to wake her up, she'd feel terrible. After that, she'd ask every night if they wanted one of her Pokémon to snuggle with. Emboar was big, but very warm, Ursaring was also huge, but its fur was soft and you could also count on it to keep you safe, and Musharna would be able to keep the nightmares at bay.

Hilda wouldn't know how to respond to the anxiety attacks at first. Her knee-jerk reaction would be to hug them, but was later told by Cheren that that could make it worse by making them feel suffocated. Instead, she opted for sitting down next to them, letting them cry it out, and quietly telling them that everything was going to be okay, that she would always stay by their side. It's one of those rare moments where Hilda is softer and quieter. She loves this kid so much, and all she wants is to help them feel better. Normally she would rush into things without a second thought, but this isn't the sort of thing you can speedrun, and she knows that. This time, she'll be patient.

I don't know about you but I've always hated the trope of vampires being addicted to blood like it was drugs. That's like saying that a human can be addicted to regular water if they drink too much so they have to filter it or something to change it. I don't know, I just don't understand why they would be 'addicted' to the very thing they need to survive? It makes me think of the quote from Mad Max; Fury Road "Do not, my friends, become addicted to water. It will take hold of you, and you will resent its absence!" In saying that, I do find it very funny that Jasper can be addicted to certain emotions, like how he was following Bella around the house and reluctantly leaving rooms she was in when she came to visit because he was getting 'high' off her good mood and Edward was so bemused to see him in that state because he's typically sounded by moody bitches who always argue and complain so he's not used to someone (other than Alice but I think he's used to her now, whereas Bella would be a bit like a slap in the face I think) being so genuinely happy that he follows her around like pepe lepew and skunk stink. I read a fic once about Jasper/Alice and Emmett/Rosalie going to college and meeting there and joining frats and they were around a bunch of drunk college kids and Jasper was ALSO starting to act a little drunk and loose and silly because SO MANY DRUNK KIDS all in the same space together was starting to affect him too. I don't know. I've just been thinking about it

I've never really thought twice about the whole "blood thirst as an allegory for addiction/human vices" because that's always been tied together really well with most vampire stories. I sort of expect that measure of symbolism from vampire media now, and tbh you'd really have to do some heavy, intense worldbuilding to make a vampire universe where bloodlust isn't akin to sex or addiction or some sort of taboo in order to make it still have the correct ~vibes~ (not that it's impossible, but I think the struggle to having to resist, or not resist, is honestly part of the lure for some people.)

and I know what you're trying to do with the "humans can't be addicted to water" thing but if water could only be obtained through killing other people (which, ahem, *gestures to history books*) then people sure would be snapping necks to get it, aaand that makes for an interesting story! I think it (obsession with blood being used as an allegory for drug addiction) can lead to some really interesting story dynamics and plot conflict!!

it is cute that jasper's drawn to happy emotions but the way that stephenie implements it makes me roll my eyes half of the time. especially when edward is like "wow bella, jasper loves being around because your emotions are soooo nice and pure and good and addicting because our love is so #Strong! 😌" like, yawwwwn. talk about an informed trait. sorry steph I will never care about edbella 😔 and also, like, reading twilight from bella's pov we... really don't get the proof of her being such a happy person. homegirl has self-esteem issues out the ass so color me skeptical that her emotions were really that alluring 🙄

Phone clutched in his hand as he stared back at the text. Deciding to not reply to it, he put his phone face first on his desk and redirected his attention to the lecturer.

He wasn't able to focus on what she was saying though. The message clouding his mind along with questions of his own.

She had told him about her crush on Nanami. He had encouraged her to pursue it. She had mentioned how their arrangement would have to come to an end if she wanted to proceed with a relationship. He had said he didn't mind.

So why did it bother him she was really going to ask him out?

Why did he harbour so much hate for himself for playing the supportive friend in this?

They were just friends that fucked. Heavy emphasis on friends. They weren't exclusive or getting to that point. So this shouldn't bother him that much.

His phone vibrates again and he's quick to pick up on the pattern. He had customized it a while back to make it easier to identify when she had sent him a message.

The end of class could not have come fast enough.

With the worry on his face as he packed his bag, Geto took notice.

"Didn't understand what Mrs Wagner was saying again?"

He paused his packing and looked up at his best friend.

"It's not that." He shoved his laptop in it's pocket and zipped up the bag. "I'm just thinking."

"About?" He watched his friend get up from his seat and toss the bag onto his back.

"Don't worry about it." he tried to get Geto off his case. "It's nothing serious."

Geto gave him a doubtful look but decided to let it go as they left the hall together.

Walking through the courtyard on their way to their apartment Geto's phone went off. He pulled it to see who had messaged him. Gojo not taking notice to it as he was stuck in his thoughts.

"Oh?" He voiced after reading the message. "Nanami got asked out by [Y/N]. Now that's a pair I didn't expect to happen."

He replied back to the text.

"They'll look cute together, no?" Looking to his right at Gojo who despite not being present before was fully aware of everything Geto was saying now. His clenched jaw an indication to that.

"I doubt." He disagreed.

"Why not?" He asked, curious to hear what Gojo would say.

"They just don't click." Like she and he did.

"They could. A relationship is all about learning about the other." he looked ahead as they were slowly approaching their building.

"Even so, they barely spent enough time together." Unlike they did.

"True. Haven't seen them have a conversation for longer than 10 mins" He looked at him thoughtfully. "I still think they could make it work."

"I highly doubt that." Gojo said with a roll of his eyes.

He may not have been looking at Geto but Geto was sure to take note of every little twitch that pulled his face. The slight furrow of his snowy eyebrows, the tick in his jaw. He wasn't happy about this news and it showed.

"By some chance," he started as they got in the elevator and Gojo pressed their floor. " Would you have a crush on [Y/N]?"

Gojo's head turned to look at his friend for the first time since they left the class. He tried to read his facial expression to see if it was a joke of a question he was being asked.

None. Geto was dead serious.

No one knew about the arrangement as per your request. So Gojo not wanting to anger you and continue what you had going kept his mouth shut. Not even his best friend got an inkling to what was going on. The secrecy of it all did make it more exciting.

But a crush?

Impossible.

"No, I don't" He turned to look ahead of him as he exited the elevator.

Reaching their shared home, he pulled out the keys to unlock the door. Geto not far behind him.

"Well it looks to me that you're jealous." He said.

Stumbling with the lock at that statement, he got it in and opened the door.

Is that what he was feeling?

"If you like her, now would probably be the best time to tell her. Nanami seemed awfully excited by the sound of his message." He set his bag by the couch and plopped down on it.

Gojo made a beeline to his room not wanting to hear any more of what his best friend had to say.

Upon entering he dropped his bag on the floor. Fell onto his bed face first face and laid like that for a bit.

"Okay okay waait." you slurred as you and Gojo sat on his bed with an open bottle of wine between you two that you shared swigs of.

The party going outside his room basically shook his door from how loud the music was being played. It was times like this that he was glad he and Geto agreed to moving into a Student Residential instead of a normal setting.

His fellow peers were too busy getting drunk, sleeping or minding their own business to care about another random party happening on a Saturday night.

"I never pegged you for the submissive type." you gave it some thought, or as much as your just above tipsy mind would allow.

Gojo grabbed the bottle between you two and chugged down a bit letting the sweet liquor take over his throat. "Well it'd mostly depend on the person in charge. I can't just submit to anybody ya know."

"So," you took the bottle from him and swung it back finishing it's contents, "If it were me?"

You got on your hands and knees and crawled the short distance between you two, making sure that once you got close enough to get on your knee in front of his sat body making him look up at you.

He brought his hands to your waist as his pupils dilated in the blue sea that were his eyes. You slowly caressed his smooth face with both your hands before moving one to his hair, pulling it back a little more till he was looking at you through his fair eye lashes.

"Well if it were you I don't think you'd be able to handle me right." he said, voice barely above a whisper but loud enough to hear over the music that thumped his door.

He moved his hands up and down your body feeling you up before slipping them under your shirt and gripping the skin that was there.

"is that a challenge pretty boy?" you started closing in on his lips.

"And what if it is?" he was visibly excited.

"Then I'm gonna have to take you up on it." your breathe fanned his lips before securing yours on his.

The day after you had found yourself in his bed naked in his arms. You may have drunken a lot but you sure as hell were not that drunk to forget everything that happened.

Getting out of the bed and looking for your clothes must've been what woke him up. He watched you in silence get dressed before deciding to make it known he was awake too.

"Morning." he greeted giving you a little jump.

"Oh, morning Gojo."

"Satoru."

"Oh, first name basis now?" you teased.

"I had you screaming it, I don't see why we'd have to revert back to my surname at this point."

He was right. If anything after last night's event, reverting back to how things were was going to be weird.

"So," you started trying to figure out how to word what you were about to ask while looking for your bottoms. "Friends?"

You paused your search to look at him. He was very much still in his birthday suit with his covers on his bottom half.

Alhaitham ships I like and respect

I realise I typically only post about Kavetham but I actually love a lot of Alhaitham ships (my mans deserves all the love). Here's a list and my reasons for shipping them, because I just got home from uni and I'm bored. These are all ships that I like, the rating is just "how would this realistically go?".

1) Kaveh/Alhaitham

Getting this one out of the way cos <3 we know. I really enjoy their bickering dynamic and they both have very strong personalities, which I adore. That's why I feel the need to be more picky with the fics I read, actually, cos sometimes people write one of them very uncharacteristically just so they don't have to deal with writing two characters with uh *checks notes* personalities lol.

They are both babygirl and they are both Problems. I think their relationship would be undefined but exclusive - neither of them say they're dating, but they've also never sleep around with other people. I kinda like the hc that Kaveh got around a bit more before they met/started their situationship, but I also vibe with the idea that he lied and told Alhaitham he was "oh so experienced" just to one up him.

Rating: 9/10

2) Cyno/Alhaitham

Hehe this one's an oldie but a goodie. So here's the thing: back in 3.1, this was The Sumeru ship. Cynari was also there , definitely, but there was a loud fandom quite obsessed with the enemies to lovers trope. Which! Some people call Kavetham enemies to lovers, wrong, they never had a fistfight; they're just rivals and lovers.

Anyway, Cyno and Alhaitham are a great ship cos we have battle boyfriends with an eventual soft dynamic. I especially love in Act 5 of the archon quest, when they continue to disagree but they're on the same side - Cyno is very against Alhaitham's reckless plan. They have a lot of contrast in their approaches to life, but at this point they have mutual respect for one another that I think could develop beautifully.

The only issue i have with their dynamic is that I struggle to imagine how they would end up together. Maybe after a fight, one of them almost dies and so there's a dramatic kiss?? I don't think Alhaitham would be so romantic tbh, and Cyno is more likely to be very straightforward with a confession, but I think he might not be honest about his feelings in order to focus on Justice™.

Rating: 7/10

3) Dehya/Alhaitham

Yes. I also occasionally like f/m ships. My issue with this one is simply that I ship Dehya with Dunyazarad more, so I think this would be a more one sided crush on Alhaitham's part. I have a hc that he's just, into claymore users. Dehya serves cunt and beats people up and Alhaitham is like "pls come back to the Akademiya, you're so so cool <3".

Maybe I have a crush on Dehya. Maybe that's the issue hm.

I can't see Dehya dating him or Alhaitham really wanting to date her - just a little crush and then a good friendship.

Rating: 10/10 for vibes, 3/10 for practicality

4) Nilou/Alhaitham

Consider: Nilou is cute. Alhaitham is cute. She thinks he's a cool treason-man and he thinks she's the only person as crazy as he is for immediately agreeing to the dangerous plan everyone else took 80% of the run time complaining about.

Would they actually ever date? I think they'd hold hands once, but then figure out very quickly that they have almost nothing in common. Alhaitham would want a more headstrong person to counter his bluntness, and Nilou would find his introversion frustrating in a dating context.

Rating: 4/10

5) Tighnari/Alhaitham

I sort of see this dynamic as the healthiest version of opposites attract on this list. Now, they're both stubborn bastards, however - where I think Alhaitham and Kaveh lose all braincells upon being in the same room, I think Tighnari and Alhaitham maintain their intelligence.

I like the idea that post archon quest they shared an infirmary room in the Birmastan (Alhaitham via head trauma, Tighnari for his untreated lightning strike lol). They both quickly get fed up with their friends' overprotectiveness and kick the likes of Cyno and Kaveh out. They are both Akademiya graduates who've kind of denounced the Akademiya, Tighnari by quitting to become a forest ranger and Alhaitham by phoning in his entire career :')).

So they get to talking since they only really knew each other through Kaveh previously, and then they vibe doing their own thing when they get bored of conversation. I think they'd understand each other pretty well, and Alhaitham would brush off Tighnari's nagging and Tighnari find Alhaitham's abrasiveness endearing, since he's not an idiot.

Rating: 7/10

However, the context I most like them in is -

6) Kaveh/Alhaitham/Cyno/Tighari

I am an 4ggravate girlie. I love a good poly ship and these guys work very well.

Basically just a combination of everything I've already said:

Alhaitham & Kaveh and Cyno & Tighnari are both in situationships. These are open relationships.

Alhaitham and Cyno (who didn't previously know each other well) start seeing one another in a new light when they're stuck in the desert together for a month fighting against the sages. Feelings ensue.

After the drama, Kaveh realises he wants to make the situation with Alhaitham more concrete because he was worried. He also hangs out with Cyno a lot after Alhaitham and Tighnari kick them out of the infirmary.

So many high stakes and the close companionship makes it so they're all sort of on board with trying a poly sitch. Tighnari seems the type to bring it up first, to Cyno and then to Alhaitham and Kaveh.

Cyno likes the idea but worries a bit that Kaveh and Alhaitham's dynamic would get in the way of an actually healthy relationship.

Alhaitham is a bit iffy cos like - free time, introversion etc, but he does think it would be a good idea to test it out.

Kaveh is pretty totally on board cos all his friends are super hot, though he says "I should have tried using a foursome to force Alhaitham out of his shell ages ago" which actually delays the process quite a lot :'))

Rating: 10/10, Alhaitham gets three boyfriends I cannot see any issues

Talk Garden Vol.8!! ~The Longest Episode in the History of My Garden~

Wakana's Talk Garden Vol.8 has just been uploaded! I was very determined to read as many messages as possible! I'd like to post some photos of the things I talked about in the podcast! This here is the whiskey which I always use to make highballs🥃Looks cute together with Tet. Next up are my training items. A FLOWIN training mat with pads. Apparently, professional footballer Yūto Nagatomo ⚽️ also uses them. Next are my voice training companions. These are textbooks for voice lessons. They are incredibly helpful. This is already my second Concone book. Then we have this English chat app. Here you can see Teacher Susan (AI). She says a lot of difficult things that I struggle to understand. Finally, these are my hair care and makeup products. I use most of them daily, depending on my mood. I mainly go for the pink one in the middle. And these are my latest top makeup products. The yellow ones look so cute. I bought the star-shaped shiny silver one to apply some of it to my décolletage at the Ghibli concert but then I completely forgot to do it.

FC Bulletin Sequel‼︎ Arrival of Spring & Meeting You〜Pharmacy Edition〜

This is a continuation from the Talk Corner in the latest issue of my fan club bulletin. My diagnosis story ended with me visiting an ENT specialist due to a feeling of pressure in my ears. There, I ended up receiving a shocking diagnosis from the doctor that I might be experiencing hay fever😇 Unable to accept this sudden reality, I grabbed my prescription and headed to the pharmacy, feeling anxious. When I entered the pharmacy feeling depressed, I was greeted by two female pharmacists with kind smiles.

Pharmacist 1 (hereinafter referred to as Pharma1): "This is a prescription for an allergy medicine. Do you suffer from hay fever?" Wakana (hereinafter referred to as W): "Yes…it seems like I'm making hay fever debut..." Pharma1+Pharma2: (with a big smile in unison) "Ohhh! Welcome to our world! \(^o^)／" 😂 Pharma1: "Don't worry. It will go away if you take this medicine. Also, the doctor didn't prescribe anything strong so I don't think you're struggling with serious symptoms." Pharma2: "These days, there are many ways to deal with hay fever so you really don’t need to worry!" W: "Thank you…😭" (What a relief *sobs* Along with the pressure in my ears, I sometimes got itchy eyes. I had been prescribed eye drops, but the pharmacists told me there was a ``eye drop-type eye wash'' that they recommended. I asked them to introduce it to me. ) Pharma1: "Well, that girl from one of the something-something~zaka bands is doing a commercial for it." Pharma2: "That’s right, the one from the ~Zaka group!." Pharma1: "What's their name again? There are too many already!" Pharma2: "Hmm, yes, I wonder which group it was…" W: " Ugh, sorry, I'm not familiar with the group...'' (← I wasn't able to follow their conversation and had to give a vague answer. The two of them kept trying to remember the group's name instead of trying to figure out the girl's name from the commercial. By the way, the correct answer was Erika Ikuta from the first group, Nogizaka46.)

This is the eyewash that was recommended. In the morning, usuallly use something else to wash my eyes but the two pharmacists said this eye wash was even better😳 Now, after washing my face in the morning and before putting in my contacts, I always use this "Well Wash EYE"! ←It kind of looks like in the commercial. Of course, you can also use it as a sort of eye drop when you are out and about, so I keep it in my bag 😊

Anyway, I was very anxious about experiencing my very first hay fever, but thanks to the two kind pharmacists my future is looking bright! ! 😊 . . . . As for my current condition, I think the hay fever has completely gone away🤣🤣🤣 I no longer need to take allergy medicine every night 😂 Sometimes my eyes mysteriously swell, when I went to the allergist, I was prescribed the same medicine as last time, so I think I'll keep it on hand in case something flares up again. It was a short experience with hay fever...🥺😂 However, it may be a seasonal thing and the symptoms may appear again in the future! If that happens, I will remember those kind pharmacists and get through it! ! ･:*+.\(( °ω° ))/.:+

Now, I'll post some pictures from the "Selfie Challenge" that I talked about in my last "Talk Garden" episode! [Note: A fan asked her to post more pictures of herself on Instagram since it's mostly flowers and the sky XD] Ughhh, it's so difficult... I don't even know what to do with my face. This is clearly the face of someone who has been completely defeated... The road to selfies is rough *laughs*😂 I'll continue to do my best so please support me! ! 🥺🥺✨

Percy Jackson and the Olympians episodes one and two, immediate impressions

Written by someone who absolutely lived those books as a kid and is no less obsessed with them as a grown up.

I will try to avoid spoilers for anything that comes later in the book or in later books in case people who have only watched the show will be reading this, but there might still be unintentional spoilers and there definitely will be spoilers for how the event of the first two episodes went down in the book.

I have been waiting since before the old movies came out, suffered the disappointment of their existence, was part of the collective agreement Lightning Thief had no sequel and am finally ready to see them try again.

I have just finished re-reading the first series and am nearing the end of House of Hades, so all the book stuff is fresh in my mind.

(I also bough the first five and all five Trials of Apollo for only £12 yesterday 🎊🎊🎊 now my tiny London apartment is flooded with books I already have no space for 🤣🤣🤣 so worth it though.)

Episode 1

- seems lovely so far;

- Percy is perfectly himself and the acting is damn decent;

- Little Percy is very cute, but also sort of spooky, make me think of the ocean, no matter what, there is always something eerie about it;

- Nancy is as awful, as she has to be and it is a nice thought that Percy understands she bullies him because of her own issues, yet also acknowledges it is still not okay;

- Brunner is perfect, they nailed his feel and presence 10/10. Why is his horse part not white though? Come on, it doesn’t have to match his skin tone and would have looked super cool, setting him apart from other centaurs like it does in the books;

- The kindly one (what they call Furies in the book) is well done and properly terrifying;

- Sally Jackson is the star, seriously, she is everything;

- Smelly Gabe is authentic enough to smell him trough the screen;

- Super funny that his reward for letting them take the car in the show is a sandwich he never ends up getting at all. At least in the books he got his dips

- BUT!!!!! Wtf with Gabe saying please? And them watching the game together? Why is he suddenly not that terrible??? How could they have decided to give redeeming qualities to this guy??? He is like the definition of awful and there really was no need to make him better in any way.

Initially I did not particularly notice this, because he was disgusting in my eye, yet upon watching for the second time, I replied he repeatedly said please and his conversation with Sally seemed suddenly more like banter than the awful way he treated her in the books. This gives their marriage something to it and makes it feel like there might have been a reason why they got married other than Sally wanting to protect Percy though Gabe's smell. And that is just wrong. Gabe was absolutely the king of awful in the books and he should have stayed that way.

I felt like I had to go back to add this point, because I missed it in my initial watching when I was writing this immediate reaction.

It can be argued that even the worst abusers are not horrible 24/7 and are ofter nice to the people around them from time to time, which makes it even more confusing and hard to leave them. But this does not really fit to the situation here, Gabe had zero redeeming qualities in the book and I can't see why there would be a need to give him any in the show;

- Sally being firmly on Percy’s side is pure gold and absolute parenting goals;

- Blue candy !!!!

- D’Angelo sandwiches though??? Hmmm…

- “Who is Yantsy?” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Gabe is so dumb, i love it;

- Hades is not satan, they finally got that right! At least I think that’s supposed to be Hades;

- Can’t stress enough how awesome it is that Percy is not an orphan in the books. His relationship with Sally is everything. It is also a whole lot less lazy than just having an orphaned protagonist and also a lot more relatable for the readers;

- I love the scene where Percy is confused and scared, trying to get her to stop, but Sally keeps talking, as if she knows if she does not say it out loud, she will never be able to;

- Sally: “He was a god.” Percy: “You fell in love with Jesus?” 🤣🤣🤣

- Grover is so funny though, I can’t even;

- The Minotaur cgi looks decent;

- And he is wearing underpants!!!

- Bye-bye Gabe’s car;

- Grover is supposed to be unconscious!!! That’s a major point of his later self-torments, the fact that he got knocked out and Percy had to carry him all the way.

I cannot see why he needed to be present for this scene. He doesn’t do much of anything other than having Sully make him swear to protect Percy, although I am not certain what that was emphasised for?

- Sally is badass! Hell yeah for mothers doing mad stuff to protect their babies, super on point and as someone who does have a baby, super realistic;

- Noooo!!! Sally!!! Proper heartbreaking;

- He did not have the sword yet! Or Grover there! And he fought the Minotaur anyways!!!

It was supposed to be the first sing of his endless courage bordering on idiocy and a serious lack in the self preservation department when it comes to people he loves being in danger.

Which ultimately is a super important point in the story. I feel they missed an opportunity to show just how many fucks are absolutely not given when Percy sees somebody dear to him threatened;

- He does still kill him with the horn, not the sword, so I guess I can forgive the sword being there for a brief second. Although it would certainly add more meaning if it wasn’t;

- Show us how he carried Grower to Camp after killing the Minotaur!!! Percy did it all on his own, no help whatsoever! That’s part of what made other campers so interested in him!

- Annabeth!!! My best girl!!!

Episode 2

- Percy’s eyes are so book accurate, a proper proper sea green, I am happy happy happy;

- And Walker is such a perfect fit for the role, it really feels like he is Percy. I can forgive them for not having someone else, who had dark hair, his casting in on par.

Also I feel like nailing his eyes is more important than hair. They are an important part of the character, a reflection of his connection to the ocean.

I can also completely get behind not immediately wanting to dye a child’s hair, so it’s not that important.

I am personally of the opinion, that unless a character’s appearance is a point in the plot, such as relation to a certain someone hinted at trough similarity in looks/belonging to a certain group/coming from a certain place/being singled out positively or negatively because of certain features/etc, changing it doesn’t matter;

A good example is the colour of Percy’s eyes. It needs to be maintained, as they are a reference to his father being Poseidon and him being a child of the sea;

- The same goes for Leah, she has absolute Annabeth energy and is just perfect every step of the way, so the fact that she ain’t blonde doesn’t really matter. It was not a particular plot point in the books and the change will not affect her character in any way;

(If Elle Woods suddenly wasn’t blonde anymore, that would be insane, in Annabeth’s case, it is not that important.)

- Aww, Percy thinks Poseidon is going to be there at camp, that’s heartbreaking :((

- Peter Johnson !!!

- ‘He’s starting with me!’

- For a moment I thought he was gonna say ‘the wine dude Dionysus’ 🤣 that would hardy have ended well;

- ‘Your Highness’ 🤣🤣🤣 Percy is adorable;

- Mister D pretending to be Percy’s dad and trying to get him to fetch a bottle of wine is sooooo funny, I died. Chiron’s face though… 🤣🤣🤣 ‘I could be!’ ‘But are you?!’

And this:

- ‘Son.’

- ‘Dad?’

- ‘Yes Peter!’

- ‘Percy!’

- ‘Exactly’

- And Percy looking at Mr D and thinking: ‘Mom fell in love with and spoke so highly of this guy? He is basically Divine Gabe.’

I will be anything upon first meeting him in the show and hearing the ‘i am your dad’ thing, that is exactly what Percy is thinking. ‘Oh no, my dad is the Less Smelly Gabe?‘

- The Hermes cabin is looking good, the chaos seems very authentic;

- As someone who had been bullied at school for different from other kids, it is a very touching moment, when Percy is sure the Hermes kids are about to start some trouble, but Luke is just so lovely to him instead.

It is honestly every weird kid’s dream to have someone approach them with something kind to say.

And when he says: ‘you are just like everyone else here’, it must have felt so nice for Percy to finally hear something like that, like there is somewhere he can belong as himself;

- Luke, my sweet tragic baby ❤️ i cannot help loving him so damn much;

His underlying wistfulness and hidden pain from not feeling loved by his dad break my heart into a million pieces. And the way he just older-brothers Percy from the beginning is everything ❤️

- But does this show hate blonde people?

Cause Luke isn’t blonde either. 🤣

Once again, great acting, charisma and that feel of Luke’s powerful awesomeness tinted with desolate melancholy was captured brilliantly.

Charles does have that vibe and is great in the role. But I just had to note the ‘nobody is blonde’ thing cause it’s funny;

- More importantly though, WHERE IS LUKE’S SCAR??? That little scrape he’s got on his face is way too small and insignificant to be the unfortunate trophy from a dragon fight.

It looks nowhere near ghastly enough!

The whole point was that Luke was super handsome, but his scar was there like a tear in a beautiful portrait.

Charles is a good looking fella, he could have easily pulled off having a huge scar running across half of his face and still be a ladies’ dream;

- The Dryad with Grover has such sweet motherly vibes;

- Is it me or do Grover’s goat legs appear somewhat skinny?

- ‘Like an old banana’ Damn, Grover. I feel like this nicely reminds everyone Grover is not the human child he appears as;

- I feel like it is more realistic that Percy comes to believe his mother can be saved from the underworld by himself, since it is pretty logical, if the underworld is a place you can go to, you could theoretically bring someone back.

There didn’t really need to be an ominous investigation conducted by Grover for Percy to come upon that idea;

- More creepy ass dreams;

- CLARISSE MUST BE BUFFER!!!

And here I somewhat don’t get it.

Cause Dior looks perfectly buff enough for the part in pictures online, but it almost feels like they made her look smaller on camera, instead of using filming techniques to make her look even bigger.

All I could think while watching those scenes was “Clarisse must be bigger!”. Why does she look so skinny in the show, when the actress has got proper muscles irl?

- Percy being terrible at everything he tries reminds me of Harry trying the wands out and making stuff blow up

- He set the Hephaestus kids’ stuff on fire 🤣🤣🤣 Leo should have been there 😉

- Is there a god of disappointment 🤣🤣🤣

- But you burn the stuff to send a message to the gods, not mortals or dead people. Burnt offerings are only messages to a god they are offered for.

Did Percy misunderstand this or did the makers of the show?

Cause there should be no way for Sally to have actually gotten that message;

- Burning candy and talking to mama hits right home though. Very painful, peak cinema, hurts a lot. Poor little Percy, he just needs a hug;

- Not from a gutter, Clarisse, what the actual?!?!

- Aaaand Supreme Lord of the Bathroom emerges!!!

I just love how good old Jonny outright refuses to harm Percy.

But does this mean Poseidon is the god of toilet water as well 🤣🤣🤣 what about everything that is flushed with it? Would he have power over that as well? Or only clean gutter water?

Also!!! Is Percy immune to ‘the Neptune’s kiss’?

(‘The Neptune’s kiss’ - is an unfortunate occurrence while going number two, when one of them lot falls down into the bowl with a blast and the water splashes back onto your unprotected buttcheeks.)

Cause that would be a seriously cool ability to have indeed;

- Annabeth!!! Always a win for Annabeth!!!

‘i can explain!’ ‘No you can’t!’

Absolutely chemistry

‘Are you stalking me, Annabeth?’ ‘Yes’

- Forbidden kids… hmm.. that’s an interesting way of putting it;

- Annabeth is Sherlock with better social skills? Hell yeah, Percy can be her sword-wielding Watson;

- Their armour looks so good! Like actually pleasant to look at, you can see effort and thought went into the costumes in the show.

Seeing them all dressed up reminds me of the longstanding tradition at Camp Halfblood of running outside wearing a breastplate and underpants when danger strikes in the middle of the night!

I really really hope they show that in this series;

- Percy should appreciate Annabeth standing there silently and waiting for him to get up, since any other classmate from his past would have made fun of his fall and certainly would not have waited for him to get up.

The way Annabeth reacted is decent between two warriors.

She did not mock his fall, waited for him to get up and made no unkind comments about it afterwards.

She did not help him get up, because he does not need assistance with such a minor trouble, which is something Percy will have to learn very soon.

As someone who has been bullied back at school, sometimes standing there silently is the nicest way someone you don’t know very well can react to you embarrassing yourself;

- I love how Annabeth doesn’t flaunt her being better at stuff in Percy’s face, he is the one who says that in a fit of self deprecation.

The writers could have easily had her say something like ‘of course i’m better’, as happens a lot in modern cinema, when characters boast about how awesome they are instead of showing it.

She respectfully listens to his ranting, then simply straightens out his breastplate, which is such an adorable moment between them my heart is going to shatter into a million pieces.

She then proceeds to tell him ‘you don’t even know how you fit into all this’ , basically saying ‘you don’t know how powerful you are’, but Annabeth is being wise.

She knows there is no point in telling Percy how awesome he could be. She believes in him and knows he needs discover his awesomeness on his own.

(I am currently re-reading The House of Hades, about half-ways trough.

Thus seeing cute Percy and Annabeth moments soothes by bleeding heart.

If you know you know, not gonna spoil an ancient book, ahahahha. )

- Yankees’ cap!!! (I know i am way too easily excited to see stuff from the book, but I was a Percy Jackson fan when the first movie came out and i still carry that damage, so cut me so slack)

- Game on! And she absolutely believes in him and never says anything demeaning, that is so awesome.

There is a trend in modern cinema to show characters’ badassness and awesomeness by having them be demeaning and rude to their companions.

This has been around for a while where the guy who was the best at everything was just allowed to be awful to everybody because of it.

Recent it has infected movies with female leads, as if the only way a woman can be portrayed as strong and capable is by being a bully to lesser men around her.

I love what they did with Annabeth here.

She is spectacular, she’s got a great plan, she knows it, she doesn’t have to repeat it.

But she does not need to be compared to Percy to be amazing, she simply is.

She also has faith in Percy and is supportive of him, without being patronising or feeling the need to over-explain.

She is confident he will know what to do when the time comes and believes honestly he will do well.

She does not tell him what to do because she is sure he will know when the time comes and that is a smart way to teach him a lesson about having faith in himself;

- Luke is so awesome, they nailed him! His faith in Annabeth and the way he says ‘Percy’s on it’ with no doubt whatsoever… i am loving it all;

- Percy is authentically adhd, this shit is so relatable 🤣

Petting that lizard is such a banger thing to do, i mean…

- It did not happen in the books like this, but these are such Percy moments, i cannot even 🤣 the main actor was a top choice;

- Closing your eyes and touching leafs or rocks is something I also absolutely love doing, Percy knows what’s on;

- Clarisse’s spear looks nifty as heck.

While I did complain that she needs to be bigger, Dior is perfect in this role. The casting generally is great so far.

She does portray the big bully energy really well;

- I have enjoyed the fight, although wasn’t Percy only supposed to get his power up after he touched the water? (I most honestly don’t remember)

Here it seems the presence of the river so close was enough and I must agree that it does look awesome when he suddenly begins fighting properly;

- And he falls into the water, heals up and is claimed by Poseidon. Precious!

- I am loving the Poseidon cabin vibes, it is just like the ocean. Beautiful and charming, but eerie and mysterious;

- I do not understand why they had to change it from Percy taking the quest immediately with the hidden idea of saving his mother, to his blatantly refusing the quest, only to have Grover tell him Sally can be saved to sway him to go anyways.

I think this was somewhat of a weird choice, but maybe it will matter later on, who knows.

It does fix up the rift between Grover and Percy with the whole Grover lying and getting him expelled situation, but that wasn’t really in the book at all, so…

I guess they wanted to try and not copy the book word for word, but Percy refusing the quest so harshly out of self preservation we have already established he doesn’t have much of seems a little out of character.

Maybe they are trying to emphasise that he would do anything to save his mom, but even without that, Percy would still have agreed to save the world and all, that’s his whole point.

And he did go with the idea of saving his mother in the book, he just didn't Grover to tell him it was possible, he simply refused to accept his mother was dead and was set on getting her back.

He is not a reluctant hero, he marches head first into danger, risks his life to save the world all the time and eats reality shattering prophecies for breakfast. (If you know you know ;)) )

I guess it doesn’t matter all that much.

In the book and the show he agreed to go on a quest in great part because he thought he could to save his mother, it was just presented differently. But I do feel once again they are diminishing Percy’s badassery.

This sweet and wonderful child doesn't need anybody's permission or reassurance, he simply though: 'Wow, there is my opportunity to go to the underworld, my mother must be there, to hell with Hades, I will make him give her back!"

He basically thought she was dead and still planned on getting her back anyways!!!

As we have seem during the duel with the Minotaur, when given proper motivation (or simply when pissed off and/or desperate enough) Percy is absolutely unhinged.

He takes no shits from anyone, god, monster, or whatever else.

It just feels a bit weird to see Percy Jackson yelling ‘no’ to a quest.

And feels like Percy's determination and intelligence are diminished because he did not come upon the idea of saving Sally on his own.

- Also, since when does Percy have a sense of self-preservation, aahahaha he could have really used a bit more of that in the books

Overall 7/10 so far

One point off for the removal of Percy's grand refusal to accept death and his brilliant sneaky plan to attempt bringing his mother back from the underworld while the quest for the Masterbolt provides a valid reason to go there. Seriously, this was perfectly devious in the books. He kept the idea to himself and simply nursed a plan to basically bring his mother back from the dead all on his own.

One point off for Luke’s scar being tiny. Everything else appearance wise is not important cause the actors are great. But not giving Luke the proper huge scar is a cosmetic decision that I do not condone

And one extra point off for Gabe saying please and having redeeming human features, as well as Sally actually wanting to watch the game with him, I could not imagine she would have ever wanted to do anything with Smelly Gabe, no no no no no

All in all, this is great so far, I need more with urgency.

I remember I was kind of introduced to this ship because I followed one of my idols who shipped it and made fanart of it and it was on DA. This was back before it got deactivated my account.

I LOVE 'Eyes of the chimera' episode. They were basically supporting each other all the way.

Ngl the transfem Leo lovers made me love it even more because I love me some lesbians. TMNT is already filled with some lesbians so why not add more!

I love how April is always by Leo's side and we see how much she cares for him.

I love the idea that April used to be into Space Heroes and then Leo got her back into it.

I wish though they had more moments together.

I've seen and been bombared by a ton of art regarding this ship on YT.

Controversial opinion: It's cute.

They both have the same energy and another controversial opinion but, Leo has a way closer relationship with April then Donnie. I've kind of seen more scenes with them together then with her and Donnie.

Though just like last time I prefer her being an older sister figure to him that Leo looks up to.

They both care for each other and love each other no matter what.

April pretty much comforts the turtles about their insecurities so she would do the same with Leo.

Probably a 6/10 or something. Again, prefer them as siblings but don't hate it. I'll kind of indulge in it tbh-
