Homer, Hades 2: Sing, O Muse, of the saffron robed goddess, whose fair countenance was bathed in Selene’s light at the moment of her birth.
Homer, Hades: The fire-stepping prince was lifted by Night from the cold ground, where his lord father had discarded him, outside Taco Bell.

One of my favorite merthur scenes is Merlin’s “I didn’t want you to feel that you were alone” and it’s so beautiful for so many reasons, but what I don’t see ever mentioned is the moments right after Arthur opens the doors. Merlin doesn’t look at Arthur or give any indication he’s awake until he says Merlin’s name.
I think it’s so special because he’s giving Arthur the choice of what he wants to do. He can leave Merlin there and be alone or he can ‘wake him up’ and have a friend. He knows Arthur might not want to engage with anyone after an entire night spent with his deceased father. It’s a beautiful, understated act of consideration, love, and empathy.

"there are strangers in our halls, trying to win the heart of my Mom but she is standing tall" I'm insane about this line. Penelope is dealing with 108 men living in her house, all of whom are trying to marry her. they are not taking no for an answer. they are disrespecting her son. we see what they're attempts at 'winning her heart' look like Antinous when I catch you. and she is handling it. she is resisting they're advances. she remains dignified and proud. she is still the queen of Ithaca, no matter how these men treat her
and Telemachus sees it. and he loves her for it

no, i am not thinking about dick and tim's relationship and how many awful, tragic moments of dick's tim has had a front row seat to. that night at the circus when dick's parents die. when his wedding with kory was ruined. when he kills the joker. when dick asks who adopted him if there is no bruce wayne and is met with silence. when donna dies. when dick breaks down in a burning building because blockbuster is dead and it's his fault. when dick is so full of self-loathing that he tells tim to forget he ever knew him. when bruce dies. when damian dies. when the worst happens.
i'm not thinking about how tim met bruce in a deep low and it colors how he views him. but dick? he has seen dick fall apart and hit rock bottom and it has never changed who dick is to him- his hero, his role model, his brother.
i'm not thinking about how unconditionally tim loves dick. how undeserving dick feels of tim's love. how bruce's death pushed them apart when they needed each other more than ever.
i'm totally not thinking about them

I think what I want to get into with the "Anyone can do harm." thing that I keep beating yall over the head with is that literally anyone, anyone at all can do harm it's not "in your DNA" to be an abuser or written in the stars that you'll be a predator.
Whatever image you have of an abuser in your head, drop it and replace it with your favorite person in the world and you'll probably be closer to the truth than you realize.
It's easy to address harm when it's coming from someone you already hate.
I see it happen all the time. Someone you couldn't stand for no real reason does something heinous then all of a sudden here comes the avalanche of "I always knew they were a fucked up individual."
No, you didn't.
There is no possible way you could have known, you just already didn't fuck with them before they started doing something you could use to justify your hatred of them. I'm guilty of it too! I'm petty, mean, vindictive, and yes! I'm way quicker to believe something bad about someone I hate versus someone I love because I'm human. Still, y all gotta learn to move past that initial "Well, they were always nice to me!" gut feeling and understand that nobody truly knows anyone and anyone can be capable of anything. Even victims. Even you.
