A Story of Legal Battles and Marital Discord
The Beginning:
Sudeep Chatterjee and his wife were on the verge of divorce. The once-loving relationship had deteriorated into a conflict marked by distrust and discord. Amidst this turmoil, Sudeep was confronted with a complaint filed by his wife, accusing him of cruelty and demanding dowry. Fearing imminent arrest, he sought pre-arrest bail from the court. His pre-arrest bail application was dismissed by the Sessions Court, Katihar.
Sudip Chatterjee v. The State of Bihar and Another
Crl Appeal 2011/2024
Before The Supreme Court of India
Heard by the Bench of Hon'ble Mr. Justice C T Ravikumar J & Hon'ble Mr.Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra J
High Court's Improbable Condition:
Sudeep's quest for bail led him to the High Court, which granted him provisional pre-arrest bail but with conditions that seemed almost impossible to fulfill. The court required Sudeep to file a joint affidavit with his wife, stating their agreement to live together and his commitment to take care of all her physical and financial needs. Additionally, the court mandated that there should be no interference from Sudeep's family members. This arrangement was to last for only four weeks, after which the couple was expected to withdraw the divorce case.
"How is this possible when there is matrimonial discord?" the condition seemed impractical and improbable, given the existing strain in their relationship. It felt like an imposition that could further sour their already fragile relationship.
A Husband's Struggle:
Sudeep was caught in a dilemma. On one hand, he wanted to avoid arrest; on the other, the conditions set by the High Court appeared to dominate him and undermine his sense of fairness. The conditions suggested a forced reunion, which seemed unlikely to heal the deep-seated issues between him and his wife.
Moreover, the conditions risked giving his wife a sense of dominance, further complicating the possibility of reconciliation. Sudeep and his wife had shown a mild willingness to rethink their relationship, but these unrealistic conditions threatened to extinguish any remaining hope of a reunion.
Supreme Court's Intervention:
Realizing the impracticality of the High Court's conditions, Sudeep approached the Supreme Court by way of Criminal Apeal. The apex court granted leave to hear the case.
Hon'ble Mr. Justice C.T. Ravikumar J, presiding over the case, noted a fundamental legal principle: 'Lex non cogit ad impossibilia' – the law does not compel a person to do what they cannot possibly perform. The Supreme Court emphasized that conditions for bail should not be so burdensome that they effectively deny the relief sought.
The Final Judgment:
After careful consideration, the Supreme Court set aside the impractical conditions imposed by the High Court. The court recognized that expecting a couple on the brink of divorce to live together harmoniously under such constraints was unrealistic and counterproductive.
The Supreme Court made the provisional bail granted by the High Court absolute, subject to standard conditions under Section 438(2) of the Cr.P.C. Meaning thereby that Sudeep could avoid arrest without the undue burden of improbable conditions, allowing the legal process to proceed fairly.

I do think it’s funny how little he cared about her being dumped in the blood rite and was wayyyy too comfortable with doing nothing.“Oh sorry cassian there are rules even l can’t break 🙁” babe you’re the high lord of the night court I think you’re allowed to break some rules to save your brother’s mate and your mate’s sister who was just wrongfully thrown into what’s basically the hunger games.

i am wide awake thinking about that post canon jb au again when I should be sleeping …!!! such is the nature of the jbrainrot…
#the whole setting is jb hanging out in the rock post war#and tyrion became lord of the westerlands / the rock is his but he’s off doing stuff in kingslanding and jaime is just filling in for him#atm . but after tyrion comes back his original plan WAS he’ll get married to brienne right away and they can move back to tarth or be#travelling hedge knights together or whatever brienne wants to do he’s down for it. but the important thing is that he wants to stay with#her .. so he’s using the time they have together currently to court her bc she deserves that at least !!#so jaime goes off trying to court and woo brienne but she just thinks they’re hanging out bc they got relatively close in the war#so jaime being touchy feely isn’t anything new. jaime making innuendos and being kinda flirty isn’t anything new either#but this time he means it LOL he’s like I want to kiss you SO badly and brienne will be like lol silly jaime (:#I was also thinking they’d help rebuild lannisport just bc it’s a time for healing now and it would be good for the people to get to know#jaime and the lannisters in general bc of how they would just used to sit high above the rock looking down on everyone#but now jaime is like. actively helping and being known and being with the people rather than just being that absent distant lord#also he’s thinking he might as well try and foster some relationship with the commoners to his house bc it’s for tyrion anyway#so he’s off doing that and brienne is tagging along bc she does not want to go home yet#she wants to stay with him and she’s helping out as an excuse to stay a little longer but she doesn’t exactly want to leave him#but how do you tell someone that and ignore the big glaring part that she’s actually in love with him and the fact that they both survived#the war is getting her hopeful???? u want her to admit that?? like a normal person??? no..!!#so she’s just staying and helping out bc a) it’s the sensible thing to do b) so she can bask on the sun that is Jaime Lannister#for like a few more days. weeks. maybe a month bc the weather is soooo bad in the stormlands rn 🙄😳#anyway jb hanging out! and everything is going well and good but jaime is now getting popular w the people and he’s also looking quite#rugged and handsome post war now that he’s thirty flirty and thriving and he also has a new scar across his lip that makes his#smirks even more ! rogueish … ! and he looks quite nice with the greying hair 👀 so now there’s gossips around him#not to mention he’s single too and I think if you were one of the heroes who helped win the war they’ll forget the kingslaying#man with no honor business so lo and behold brienne eavesdrops a group of ladies bc she’s a chismosa at heart and they’re talking about a#potential marriage for a lord lannister (!!!) and there’s going to be a big tourney held in Kingslanding for it (!!!)#and brienne remembers jaime mentioning the ought to go to Kingslanding in the next few weeks (!!!) and now she’s remembering jaime IS a#lord though not theee lord of the westerlands STILL a lord from one of the seven houses and he’s single and very eligible for marriage rn#and now she’s realising everything is returning back the way it was before the war where society rules matters and she has her own role as#now the evenstar bc rip selwyn and jaime has his own role too and the court is a whole different battlefield#one that she isn’t equipped in and even though she had found some new confidence in herself bc killing a bunch of ice invisible zombies#with your own magic sword will do that for you she doesn’t think (and she’s being objective not negative) she stands a chance in THAT

I would take the “Feyre can’t be a ruler she was just illiterate” people more seriously if Feyre’s former illiteracy was shown to effect her abilities as High Lady. But it doesn’t. Her formally being illiterate has 0 (zero) negative effect on her role as High Lady.
Also illiteracy does not speak to her intelligence in this case because it’s something that was born from her childhood abuse, not because she has some learning difficulties.

One thing Feyre does a lot trough the series, after she leaves Tamlin, is that she constantly compares Tamlin to Rhysand. One of the things that made a big impression on her is how Tamlin said to her how there wasn’t a HL but then Rhysand made her one(undeserved).
But the funny thing is that in the 4-5 months she spend in the SC (after UTM) as Tamlin’s consort she was WAY more loved and respected than she is as the HL of the NC for 3 years now.

I love Sims drama because I am so uninvolved in all of it that I feel like I'm in a theatre, watching a movie with popcorn and my feet kicked up. Don't mind me while I sit from the sidelines and watch nonsense unfold before my eyes. Seeing factions break out over who gets to make more off the back of a multi-million dollar corpo.

PT. 2 CONTINUATION ACOTAR
Read/Re-Reading questions, theories, fandoms & more!
1 & 2. What did the inner circle of the Night Court do while Rhys was trapped under the mountain?
Did he trap them in Velaris to keep them safe/from trying to save him? — If not, how did he convince Azriel, Mor, & Cassian not to try & to rescue him?!?
Rhysand may be able to care for himself, he may command mad respect; it may have been a known death mission; but even if they didn't know the full extent of torture UTM, & even if 50 years of time is experienced differently/faster for 500+ aged immortals... I just can't imagine them leaving him there unquestionably (even if he told them to).

me, listening to a podcast about a guy in prison based entirely on a coerced confession: what do you mean the members of the jury still think hes guilty now that they know about coerced confessions??? did you not hear four police officers interrogating and shouting at a 19-year-old while hes sobbing through a story inconsistent with the actual evidence???? there was no other evidence, how do you still think hes guilty???
me, ten minutes later: ...oh, right. if they say hes not guilty, that means they sent an innocent kid to prison. yeah, now that uh makes sense.
#kai rambles#i finally listened to bear brook season 2#and i spent pretty much the entirety of it internally screaming#because this guy has spent over three decades in prison because this ''hotshot detective with the best solved case record'' had a hunch#and then bullied his way into ''proving it'' whilst leveraging criminal charges over people and interrogating people for over 10 hours and#not fucking solving anything considering he got two confessions that were both a) recanted b) inconsistent with the evidence of the case and#c) inconsistent with each other. and then his main suspect who did not confess had to be released without charge because the other two#wouldnt testify to his supposed involvement and that was the entirety of the evidence and then one of the other suspects#a kid in his early 20s got acquitted partly because that detective broke courthouse rules so he and his partner could get their stories#correct and just told the prosecutor he was doing that as if the prosecutor wouldnt tell the judge like its his job on the line too#and then the guy STILL IN PRISON today was convicted because ''why would someone confess to a murder they didnt commit?''#and i get ''oh it was a different time'' but god the privellege of those jury members to have never been in a situation where you would say#ANYTHING to get someone to stop yelling at you or interrogating you or just hurting you in anyway. hes 19 years old and crying sylvia#also like if a detective has a very high success record#someone should check that because while maybe it is genuinely someone finding the people responsible but thats a blue moon situation#also also the guy in prison jason carroll's attorney recently found the original evidence from the case including fingernail clippings#with the blood of her presumed murdered on them and obviously the attorney cynthia wants them dna tested so she petitioned the coury#*court#and the prosecution objected saying ''there is no result from dna evidence that could exonerate jason carroll'' which is obviously a lie#because they want to keep their conviction record nice and shiny but god fuck that team so much#there was literally a serial killer who lived nearby around that time like if its his blood are you gonna argue jason was still involved??#im very angry about it#can you tell?#i was angry crying earlier. i put the season on while i played sims expecting it to be more like the first season but nope#i was in for an angry ride instead

"isn't it time you forgave (friend who defended homophobic ruling in a local case and showed they were a bigot)? It's been so many years."
Well, see, (1) they haven't apologized although I've made my stance perfectly clear re: being an actual queer person and that I stood with queer families, fuck the law,
and (2) made zero attempts to do so when they were able to contact me, nor have they asked our mutual friends to convey their apology now that I have them blocked
and (3) I owe them nothing. Not my forgiveness, not my space, not my time.

Okay, but there's something about Clint who in general hates space
Being a pilot
And going into navigations in ST au
Cause he is just a little lost boy
Lost boy. Navigations. Pilot. There's poetry there.
But you ever point that out and he will glare

Can you tell us a bit more about Florece? 👀
sure ! she's 27 years old mage who lives in a city that's mostly made up of fae of some variety -- it's the only city like it in the world. humans are super rare there, as in she's never actually met another one. Florence is a magical handyman who works primarily in magical devices for the poor side of town where she lives. She spends a lot of time going through magical trash, recycling parts into other things, fixing heaters and fridges, etc.
because humans generally have shit magic sense, she built her glasses to make it visible to her. (magic itself comes in three different versions, called scripts. First script is spoken, the second is musical, and the third is written, which is the one used by artificers and what Florence focuses on. master mages are called Scribes.)
she's extremely independent and keeps herself purely neutral among the various gangs of fae in her area of the neighborhood. good traits: intelligent, resourceful, rational. bad traits: standoffish, secretive, self-centered.
at the start of the story, Florence only has one real debt to clear before she can consider herself free and clear - a life debt to a high-fae dryad called Evergreen, who picked Florence out of the gutter at 15 and nursed her back to health. Florence always keeps her word and repays her debts. To pay back this debt, Florence agrees to search out a sample of a dangerous new plague that's devastating the Undercity, only it's not a natural plague. something far more sinister is happening to drain the residents of the undercity of their magic.

USA please listen to me: the price of “teaching them a lesson” is too high. take it from New Zealand, who voted our Labour government out in the last election because they weren’t doing exactly what we wanted and got facism instead.
Trans rights are being attacked, public transport has been defunded, tax cuts issued for the wealthy, they've mass-defunded public services, cut and attacked the disability funding model, cut benefits, diverted transport funding to roads, cut all recent public transport subsidies, cancelled massive important infrastructure projects like damns and ferries (we are three ISLANDS), fast tracked mining, oil, and other massive environmentally detrimental projects and gave the power the to approve these projects singularly to three ministers who have been wined and dined by lobbyists of the companies that have put the bids in to approve them while one of the main minister infers he will not prioritise the protection of endangered species like the archeys frog over mining projects that do massive environmental harm. They have attacked indigenous rights in an attempt to negate the Treaty of Waitangi by “redefining it”; as a backup, they are also trying to remove all mentions of the treaty from legislation starting with our Child Protection laws no longer requiring social workers to consider the importance of Maori children’s culture when placing those children; when the Waitangi Tribunal who oversees indigenous matters sought to enquire about this, the Minister for Children blocked their enquiry in a breach of comity that was condemned in a ruling — too late to do anything — by our Supreme Court. They have repealed labour protections around pay and 90 day trials, reversed our smoking ban, cancelled our EV subsidy, cancelled our water infrastructure scheme that would have given Maori iwi a say in water asset management, cancelled our biggest city’s fuel tax, made our treasury and inland revenue departments less accountable, dispensed of our Productivity Commission, begun work on charter schools and military boot camps in an obvious push towards privatisation, cancelled grants for first home buyers, reduced access to emergency housing, allowed no cause evictions, cancelled our Maori health system that would have given Maori control over their own public medical care and funding, cut funding of services like budgeting advice and food banks, cancelled the consumer advocacy council, cancelled our medicine regulations, repealed free prescriptions, deferred multiple hospital builds, failed to deliver on pre-election medical promises, reversed a gun ban created in response to the mosque shootings, brought back three strikes = life sentence policy, increased minimum wage by half the recommended amount, cancelled fair pay for disabled workers, reduced wheelchair services, reversed our oil and gas exploration ban, cancelled our climate emergency fund, cut science research funding including climate research, removed limits on killing sea lions, cut funding for the climate change commission, weakened our methane targets, cancelled Significant National Areas protections, have begun reversing our ban on live exports. Much of this was passed under urgency.
It’s been six months.
