Nice points. Honestly, my first point was more on the fact that the people should’ve at least heard rumors about their royals, and I feel like it would’ve been a really big point that Loki isn’t as bloodthirsty as his brother considering their culture. Especially since gossip among higher standings are common in the context of monarchical societies, and that people around Loki don’t necessarily like him, it can’t be too far to assume that rumors went around thriving on anything that could outcast him further, especially since a servant laughed at him, and Thor didn’t do anything. Of course, we aren’t really shown any reaction of more of the Asgardian people outside of the warriors and the people in the palace, so it’s possible they have relatives that noticed (but again, it’s a long shot because we aren’t shown anyone outside of the palace).On the third point, it was really meant for the audience, because Thor 1 was pretty good, but failed at show, don’t tell on that specific point. We aren’t shown Thor changed, it’s just implied. On your fourth and fifth points, it felt more like the principle of feeling the need to protect the realm when he didn’t seem to care that much before(I thought I outlined that in the post, but I guess I ended up deleting it because it’s late and the later I go, the more I make mistakes) on your last point, I also should’ve expanded on the fact that I meant hypothetically speaking, if Frigga was the innocent, completely nurturing flawless mother she’s presumed to be, why didn’t she question it. But yeah.

Oh and on the hammer thing, why is it that Steve and Vision can carry the hammer? Are Steve and Vision what Odin presumes Thor to be?

Just realized something else that messes me up about Thor 1. So everyone in Asgard was just…ok with the drastic changes in Thor and Loki? I mean, someone had to question how Thor went from all bloodlust to peace and shit. I feel like Lokis identity crisis leading into a psychotic break kinda makes sense because all of these negative emotions have been building up for like a thousand years and any time he would have mentioned his feelings about being second best or being treated like shit by Thor’s friends would’ve been brushed off as imagined slights. All that culmination is definitely not healthy. On the other hand… Thor becoming worthy in 3 days considering he was enthusiastically bloodthirsty for a thousand doesn’t really make sense. Like, he’s still aggressive on sight in avengers, so did he really learn anything? Also, he spends 3 days with some mortals and all of Earth is suddenly under his protection? I mean, he didn’t even do anything until Loki attacked, but considering Loki was kinda a big threat I can kind of give him a pass(unless someone wants to offer something different). Back to the original point, Thor just decides the Jotun are people now? I don’t think he actually cares, it feels more like a matter of principle. Like, he’s didn’t think it was wrong until knowing Jane for 72 hours. Also, he doesn’t seem to think he himself was wrong when he started. But anyway. How did Frigga not think something was off in 2012? Ma’am, your child went missing for a year, presumed dead, and he suddenly has a whole ARMY? And want to take a world over when he couldn’t give a crap about needless conquering before??

I’ve been thinking back to artist stuff in high school and man people are really weird about furry stuff in a way that seems like they’re super afraid to be associated with it at all. I don’t/didn’t consider myself a furry but I recognize my art is obviously furry-adjacent at times and I don’t mind that.

I’d almost always bring my sketch book to school with me so I can draw during breaks and stuff and the amount of times people (sometimes complete strangers!) would randomly insult me for drawing “furry shit” (once this happened bc I was drawing bojack horseman characters LMAO) like ppl are usually polite when they see me (or others from what I’ve seen) drawing in public, will either ignore it or say something nice or funny if they do comment on it, unless it’s something they think is furry art.

It’s baffling to me like this is so obviously not how these people would normally behave but it feels like they’re so afraid of being seen as cringe they feel they have to point out any cringe they see so that no one thinks they’re cringe. Grown adults can do this stuff too but it was obv much more common for me in high school.

And it was so shitty how it made me actually somewhat ashamed of drawing anything that could be perceived as furry, even though I’ve loved drawing animals my whole life since I was a child, and I never had anything against furries and had both irl and online friends who were furries.

I don’t feel any of that shame anymore and just draw whatever I want (it helps that I’m no longer getting strangers commenting on my art like this irl, and that I’m not as insecure a person as I was in high school) it’s just so fucking weird that people feel comfortable acting like this

since playing twilight princess again i cannot get behind the lu fandom characterization of twilight and wild i'm sorry. like i think twilight would be an overprotective big brother figure towards wild, absolutely. but wild doesn't take that sitting down. he doesn't like being coddled, and it's pretty clear (side note: i do really appreciate the analysis posts about wars and how hard he's been on wild potentially pushing wild closer and closer to a rather big memory. you can sort of see how twilight is not happy with how warriors is acting, but he's not saying anything right now. probably because it's not his place to, and also probably because wild wouldn't want him to right now).

i think that twilight and wild have a very different relationship to what most of the lu fandom thinks. they're close - that much is obvious from how they react when the other is hurt, and how twilight pushed through the rest to get to wild during the memories comic. but i think that a lot of the time, it feels like wild only exists around twilight, or he can't be left without twi otherwise he'll "do something stupid" or whatever. wild doesn't exactly appreciate twi's protectiveness or his advice all of the time, but he still looks up to twilight. despite whatever went down when they first met, wild worked to gain twi's trust in order for them to be so close. they're equals - just like the rest of the chain are equals. and yes, wild does a fair amount of dumb things and he's impulsive about it, but i would like to argue that twilight also does a fair amount of dumb things (in game and in comic)

(i think it also kinda feeds in to how wild is sort of infantilized by the fanbase. he's already not exactly trusted by the rest of the chain (legend especially, for some reason), and i think i'd like to explore that and how his relationship with legend formed. they seem to think he's sort of a loose cannon, especially after the previous arcs. wild hasn't seemed to realize it yet, but i do think something is coming, especially with him and warriors)

There's a tiny line at the bottom regarding facism today but I think you're 100% right to call it into question, because I don't actually think it's accurate.

There's definitely been fascist governments since then, and rising facisim now. Although the map is wrong, Europe still is experiencing a rise in extreme right wing politics — Hungary, Germany, Finland, to name a few. In general, there is a swing towards right wing parties across the world as a result of polarisation due to several (recent) economic crisis and the current political climate.

Honestly, thank you so much for fact checking. I'd hate to be part of the problem in misinformation. I'm not going to delete the information, but I'll edit it to put a disclaimer because there's definitely a lesson learnt here. In the interest of correctness, in the original post I mentioned that China and North Korea are fascist. They're not. China works under a Communist system, and North Korea while having removed references to communism from their constitution still considers themselves part of the leftist movement. Even then, I included them in the list because extremist left wing is very similar to extremist right wing politics. Both follow ideas of a cultural 'one' — in the case of China, this is the Han people and results in the constitutional genocide of the Uyghur people and other Turkic Muslim groups in China. North Korea is also extremely isolationist and repressive. Although neither are fascist, they hold qualities of fascism and are still part of an extreme political polarisation that is just as bad as extreme right wing politics.
