"Dick is Bruce's partner not his son" can we not grasp that Bruce didn't know how to navigate being a recently orphaned child's father when the child's dead father was his hero and didn't want to accidentally overstep and that Dick was conflicted about what it meant to accept another man as his father wrt to the memory of his recently murdered father (something that again Bruce was aware of because of his own dead dad) while also trying not to push for more and risk losing the only two fucking people he had in the world but that Clearly the sentiment is there???
