S/S23 catwalk trends
Croshet
The first trend I chose for my spring/ summer 2023 catwalk trends is crochet this is because I love all the detail and different patterns created by the designers. Crochet is continuing as a trend due to designers becoming more creative with the technique, remaining a perfect option for summer fitting in with beachy and city wardrobes.
Denim
The next trend I chose for my spring/summer 2023 catwalk trends is denim. Denim has a huge impact on Many people’s fashion choices and has not lost its variety for the ss23 catwalks with many different styles and ways of wearing the denim. Many of these designs for the catwalks were inspired by the 90s with new baggy cut jeans and long denim skirts initially becoming a huge hit for summer time.
youtube
Goth
The next trend I chose for my spring/summer 2023 catwalk trends is the goth trend. The goth trend all spiralled with the inspiration of a dark gothic goddess. Black is the most powerful colour in fashion representing many huge parts of fashion history from mourning to power and more designers are gravitating towards this as a concept.
youtube
3D
The next trend I chose for my spring/summer 2023 catwalk trends is the 3D trend. This trend gives off a new concept to fashion with more unique ideas. Each look is different and all stand out the 3d affect gives a different perspective to the viewers.
youtube
Nudes
The next trend I chose for my spring/summer 2023 catwalk trends is the nude and beige trend. Beige and nude shades have been seen to be a classic basic trend in fashion and many designers have had fun with this creating many different ways to present the colours.

French couturier and founder of her own fashion house Sonia Rykiel. Sonya Rykiel was born on the outskirts of Paris on May 25, 1930 in the family of a Romanian watchmaker and his Russian wife. Sonya's first husband, Sam Rykiel, was the owner of a knitwear store: she created her first knitted dresses, replenishing the range of the family store. In 1962, a sweater model appeared in a horizontal white-black-red-pink stripe — it had long sleeves and a short, tapered hem. A year later, Poor Boy Sweater ("Poor Boy's Sweater") hit the cover of Elle magazine (the aspiring singer Francoise Hardy posed in it) and popularity came to Rykiel. Brigitte Bardot, Catherine Deneuve and Audrey Hepburn appeared among Sonia Rykiel's loyal clients, and after some time she divorced and, on the advice of her ex-husband, founded her own fashion house Sonia Rykiel in 1968. Rikel' s business was very successful, and she was not afraid to take on new projects She was called the “queen of knitwear,” but Ms. Rykiel also designed interiors for the Crillion Hotel in Paris (1972), a collection for a mail order catalogue, children's clothes, accessories and perfume. In 2010, the fashion house Sonia Rykiel announced the creation of a collection of interior fabrics, in the same year an exhibition of Rykiel's drawings was held in Paris. Fashion house Sonia Rykiel has been owned by First Heritage Brands, an investment fund of the Chinese Fung group, since 2012. Natalie Rykiel remains a consultant to the company. A year ago, Natalie Rykiel published a book describing her relationship with her sick mother and "the day your mother becomes your child." “I dedicated my life to building the image of my mother, — Natalie writes. — I know it's now a myth and a fashion icon. "She built her universe from the very beginning, with her own attitude to detail and sewing skills, — says Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. — She had her own view of woman and femininity, which did not separate a woman from society. Sonya Rykiel has always welcomed the initiatives of young designers. She and I have always believed that clothes are not only decoration, but also a manifesto. Her design — it's a bridge between fashion, literature, and activism."

Some statistics on men who are (s*xually)ab*sed
40% of male CSA survivors reported a female ab*ser
Large scale federal agencies reveal that women are often s*xual perpetrators
The CDC and BJS found that both men and women were equally subjected to r*pe
Most of the men reported a female r*pist
A researcher found that boys face higher rates of s*xual ab*se by adults than girl
In another study, 13,000 minors were surveyed. 3 quarters of boys reported being s*xually ass*uted by kids their age. In half of these cases, the abuser was a woman.

Billy Lenz NSFW Alphabet
A=Aftercare (What they're like after sex)
Billy isn’t too much into the whole checking in on your partner thing. The most he’ll do is pat your hair or drag his nails slowly up and down your arms, whispering about all the things you two just did.
B=Body Part (Their favorite part of their partner's body)
Your thighs. They’re just so nice to rest his head on while your run fingers through his hair and don’t get him started on when he’s between them. His hands will need into the soft flesh, rubbing circles and watching the marks that appear when he grips a little too hard.
C=Cum (Anything to do with cum basically... I'm a disgusting person)
Billy loves to cum where ever is the most inconvenient for you. Your hair, your clothes, your face, he loves to watch your eyes go wide with surprise. But most of the time it's deep inside you, he has absolutely no strength to pull out, especially when you're milking him for all he's got.
D=Dirty Secret
He wants to fuck you in front of the rest of the sorority girls and their boyfriends. Having them watch you claw at his back, whimpering out to him. That the creep who terrifies them over the phone is pounding into one of their close friends and she loves it.
E= Experience (How much do they have?)
Does his right hand count? Besides Billy’s self lovin’ he doesn’t have much personal experience but he isn’t clueless in any regard. He saw how his mother and father touched each other and he’s got his hands on a couple lewd magazines before.
F= Favorite Position
Really into anything where you’re as close as possible. Billy loves to grab a hold of your softest parts. Whether it be your chest, hips, ass, he wants it all. Loves to feel your moans and groans vibrate your chest and your shaky breaths fan across his face. Let’s him know just how good he is.
G= Goofy (How are they in the moment? Are they more serious or humorous?)
Billy tends to giggle at some of your reactions, he’ll point them out to you with a breathy laugh and then repeat the same action again. But besides that, it’s strictly fuckin business.
H= Hair (How well groomed are they, does the carpet match the drapes, etc.)
It’s a mess just like the hair that sits atop his head. Although he isn’t especially hairy, it’s a mess of curls at the bottom of his shaft.
I=Intimacy (How are they during the moment, romantic aspect)
Can be very intimate if he wants to, he just doesn’t most of the time. In more of his aware moments, he’ll grab your face and kiss you hard but with a softness that is very unfamiliar to him. Other times if you’re on top of him he might sit up and wrap his lanky arms around you right and whimper into your chest.
J=Jack Off (Masturbation Headcanon)
Billy used to frequently masturbate before you came along. But now he doesn’t see the need when you’ve got a couple of great holes he can fuck anytime he wants ;)))).
K=Kink (One or more of their kinks)
Somnophilia. The vulnerability and innocence that comes in your sleeping state is a huge turn on to Billy. And the prospects of you waking up, barely aware of your surroundings and the first thing to tumble out your mouth is his name in a breathy moan, begging him for more, is very enticing to him.
L=Location (Favorite places to do the do)
The attic. He very much feels in his element with the familiarity of the area but that won’t stop him from fucking you anywhere at any possible opportunity.
M=Motivation (What turns them on, gets them going)
Honestly, just watching you. You could be doing the most mundane of tasks and Billy’s gears could be turning.
Oh, your wiping down the counters? You sure would look nice bent over them screaming for Billy.
Making the bed? Why do that when you two are just gonna mess it all again?
N=No (Something they won't do, turn offs)
There’s not too much Billy is opposed to, but sharing you with anyone or you getting too close to someone is a big no in his book.
O=Oral (Preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
The man gives oral like a man starved. It’s sloppy but has a sharp skill to it. He could stay there for hours and I mean hours. It’s kind of his favorite past time.
But he will never, ever, reject a blowjob. Billy loves to watch you take him in your mouth, looking up at him like he’s god himself. But brace yourself, because he can and will face fuck you till you can’t process a thought.
P=Pace (Fast and rough? Slow and sensual?)
Billy is a quick and rough fuck. He likes you shaking, holding on to him as tightly as possible like he’s your anchor. But if you can take control and want it slower, he wouldn’t mind. He would just sit back, telling you what a pretty cunt you have and burying his face into your chest.
Q=Quickie (Their opinions on quickies rather than proper sex, how often, etc.)
Billy is always down for a quickie. He understands that intercourse is a whole ordeal and he’s insatiable so sneaking in quick little moments of fun is ideal for him.
R=Risk (Are they game to experiment, do they take risks, etc.)
He won’t take too much risk. But he has no problem pounding into you while the girls go about their daily business right outside your bedroom door. Or he might fuck you up against the attic window so some poor bastard below can get an eye full.
S=Stamina (How many rounds can they go for, how long do they usually last)
4-5. Maybe more depending on if he’s really amped up or if he gets small breaks in between. But don’t worry, you’ll be spent by the time you’re through.
T=Toy (Do they own toys? Do they use them?)
Nope. But he’ll try anything once.
U=Unfair (How much do they like to tease?)
Billy is all about being an asshole. So he’ll come up behind you while you’re getting ready in the bathroom and close the space between you two. Slipping a hand down your pants and bites down on the shell of your ear, stuttering his way through a dirty scenario before he’ll pull away all together and scuttle back to attic.
This usually backfiring on his part because now he’s horny and you’ve left.
V=Volume (How loud they are, what kind of noises do they make, etc.)
Grunts, groans, whimpers, screeches, screams. You name it, Billy probably does it. This man also has zero volume control, if he wants to be loud he’s gonna be loud. The most he’ll do to snuff out his cries in latch his mouth onto your neck or chest and even then he’s still loud.
W= Wild Card (Random headcanon)
Loves soft touches just as much as the rough ones, if not more. The shoulder rub, the kiss to the temple, the trace of his knuckles, those are things that make his chest warm and in turn, his pants tight.
X=X-Ray
A little bit about average, very skinny but lengthy.
Y=Yearning (How high is their sex drive?)
All this man wants to do is fuck. If it was his choice he would have you on his dick all hours of the day.
He’s got a lot of time on his hands, being cooped up in the attic all the time means his energy is stored up so he can go for rounds.
Z=ZZZ... (How fast do they fall asleep afterwards?)
Billy can go for quite some time, but once the deed is done he is gonna wanna sleep it off. He’ll wrap around you like vines and won’t let go if his life depended on it.
#hey btw im just going down my list so yall will be able to see who is next#billy lenz x reader#black christmas 1974

Tiny in size but deadly in might: Blue-ringed octopus
Blue-ringed octopuses are one of the deadliest sea creatures. They are known to be highly venomous, and many cases of human fatality have been reported from Australia where they are found in large numbers along the warm, shallow beaches. Their name comes from their unusual skin colouration, with wavy rings that deepen into midnight blue when alarmed. The blue ringed octopuses are reported to be shy, and only bite when provoked.
The victim is generally unaware of the bite as it is painless most of the time. Sometimes, a small laceration with no discolouration, and a tiny drop of blood is seen. The painless bite becomes the main problem as the victim unknowingly delays in asking for help. Even prolonged skin contact with the octopus may also transfer venom in small doses to a person. The effect of the venom is very quick, with initial effects seen in 5 to 10 minutes. The victim shows signs of parasthesias, numbness, progressive muscular weakness, and has difficulty in breathing and swallowing. Nausea, vomiting, and blurred vision follow, with the victim eventually becoming unable to talk.
These symptoms further progresses in severe cases to respiratory failure, and death due to cerebral anoxia. All through this time, the victim's heart continues to beat until extreme asphyxia sets in. They may even appear clinically dead with pupils fixed and dilated.
A detailed study of the venom was carried out in 1960 on Australian blue ringed octopus (Hapalochlaena maculosa). The venom is found in the saliva of these creatures. A chemical analysis of the venom revealed it to be a low molecular weight, non-protein toxin called tetrodotoxin (TTX); the same toxin is found in pufferfish which is used to make the Japanese delicacy, fugu.
The blue ringed octopus itself is not venomous, but it allows TTX-producing bacteria to reside in its salivary glands. The octopuses are not affected by TTX, as they have evolved a distinct type of sodium channel receptor that does not bind the TTX molecule.
The octopus and the bacteria share a symbiotic relationship. The bacteria colony gets safe harbour, and the octopus uses the deadly venom produced by the bacteria in capturing it's prey. One milligram of the venom is enough to cause respiratory failure in an adult human being. Not all bites transfer the same amount of venom, and so severity of a bite depends on the amount of venom that has entered into the bloodstream.

From above : PSA on Britney Spears and the #FreeBritney movement for anyone that needs or wants more information on what is going on with her. It’s a fucking rabbit hole, so buckle up. A little backstory first. Britney was a child star starting at the age of 4 years old on Broadway, and then worked her way to the Mickey Mouse Club, and eventually the solo career we know today. Her career has been on autopilot her entire life. If you look back at her music, she’s been telling everyone for years she’s too controlled and treated as a product if you listen to the lyrics of most of her hits. Examples include: Lucky, Overprotected, My Perogative, Circus, Piece of Me and Gimme More. Her music videos, social media posts, tour props and photoshoots regularly show her in a cage or in chains. If anyone has ever seen videos of her when she was younger, you’d know her REAL singing voice is very similar to Christina Aguilera’s. Her record label didn’t like it, as they were both on the Mickey Mouse Club and about to release their debut albums at the same time. So they had her voice retrained to sing in the baby voice we all know today because they believed it to be more iconic and would create a brand and career for her instead of her real voice. It’s unhealthy, and it’s been destroying her voice over the years, thus why she is known for lip syncing. She wanted to make an acoustic type pop album in 2006 titled Original Doll and reinvent herself using her real voice. The album was shelved and cancelled once her label realized she would be singing in her real voice. She isn’t allowed to sing live because she will either fail terribly, or she’ll have to sing in her deep voice that she isn’t known for. Her entire career she has been treated like a product meant to sell. Now, for the real tea. Everyone remembers the 2007 meltdown. Everyone. Leading up the meltdown Britney was going thru a public divorce, had two children under the age of 2 at the time and was VERY much the focus of the public. We all saw her on every magazine cover. We all also saw the photo of her with one of her kids on her lap while driving. Go on YouTube once and look up ‘Britney Spears paparazzi’. You’ll watch her be chased and followed by hundreds of them, even trying to get into a public restroom to photograph her, videotaping her in tears asking them to leave her alone, and even filming her thru the windows of an ambulance while she was naked being taken away for her final mental health hold. After the public meltdown, shaving her head, locking herself in her home with her children, speaking in a british accent on regular basis, wearing the imfamous pink wig everywhere, and shopping naked, she was hospitalized twice. After the hospitalization, her father petitioned the courts to be a TEMPORARY conservator to her until she was mentally stable and for only one years time. 2 months after her hospitalization she did a guest appearance on How I Met Your Mother. 6 months after her hospitalization, she drops the Womanizer video and starts to promote her new album Circus with its worldwide tour that grossed $131.8 million. If she’s so unwell, why did she start working right away? Her father after one year petitioned the courts for the conservatorship to become permanent due to her ALLEGEDLY having EARLY ONSET DEMENTIA in her TWENTIES. It passed and has been that way ever since. For 12 years to be exact. Now for everyone that doesn’t understand what that means let me break it down for you. Britney Spears is a now 38 year old woman who is not allowed to do the following without her fathers permission or he can legally lock her up in a mental health facility: • drive a car • vote • get married • have children • spend HER OWN MONEY • see how her money is being spent • see her children (she has 30% custody of both of her boys due to her dad assaulting one of her sons) • leave her home • hire her own lawyer • have any control over her career • speak about the conservatorship publicly • do interviews that aren’t scripted and all final cuts are approved by her father as well • use a cell phone without being monitored • use social media unmonitored • contact ANYONE without being monitored or having them extremely vetted. (Iggy Azalea allegedly had her house searched for drugs top to bottom when they collaborated on a song together) • go shopping • go for a walk • get Starbucks A conservatorship is meant for people with mental health issues or decaying health. Most likely grandparents or people with actual dementia etc. They are meant for people who literally cannot take care of themselves. If she is so unwell that she isn’t mentally capable of doing anything for herself, why is she still working? Since the conservatorship began 12 years ago she has: • released 4 albums • done 3 worldwide tours • did a FOUR-year Vegas residency • was a full time judge on X-Factor • released multiple perfumes and a lingerie line • made $138 MILLION DOLLARS or so A YEAR In January of last year, Britney was placed in a mental health facility for 3 months after being seen driving her car to In-N-Out with her boyfriend without permission and for refusing to take the sedating medications her father has doctors prescribing her to keep her under control. She testified to a judge in documents that she was held there against her will by her father. After it was leaked to the press that she was there against her will, the Free Britney movement picked up speed causing a judge to open an investigation into the impact and legality her conservatorship has on her life. Britney’s mother Lynn was also liking and commenting on Free Britney posts saying she agrees that Britney is trapped by her father. Britney’s team had Twitter disable the Free Britney hashtag, and regularly threatens any celebrity that speaks out using the hashtag with a lawsuit if they don’t remove their support for the movement. She was seen shortly after leaving a hotel thru the front door (99% of celebrities park underground to avoid paparazzi unless they WANT to be photographed) stumbling while carrying her shoes, and out of it. Her team used that moment to justify to the public that she needs this conservatorship. She is not allowed to have any say in the hiring or firing of anyone on her team. Every year she pays $1.1 million dollars in fees for the conservatorship to continue, including paying her father a solid $100k+ salary and paying a lawyer she isn’t allowed to choose. She is allowed an allowance of around $1,500 a week for bills, shopping and essentials. Her net worth is $250 million. So, when everyone sees her on Instagram walking up and down her hallways like it’s a fashion show. That’s all she is allowed to do. She has NEVER had control over her life. I don’t care if you personally like her or her music, NO ONE DESERVES THIS. All this woman wants is to see her children, make the music she wants to make, and go get a frappuccino in her car. She is a light of sunshine in this world, and we must protect her at all costs. So please, do not make fun of her, support the Free Britney movement, and send good vibes her way. She has a court date this month to review the conservatorship and decide if it is abusive or will continue to be in place. There are so many details to this that i left out that would make this post entirely much longer than it is, but a simple search will show you what else is out there. Spread this far and wide. ❤️ Free Britney Edited to add some important links! He reportedly had an altercation with Sean in September 2019: https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.usatoday.com/amp/2362531001 Source from the opposing view pointing to the success of her conservatorship and that fans are wrong, I think it's weird she has made no formal appearances to contest the conservatorship in court but she said (link above) we were not being told the truth and the media is being manipulated: https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/celebrities/2019/10/24/britney-spears-why-does-she-still-need-conservator/2288009001/ There's a lot of money at stake to keep her in this situation. Just seems too convenient that she can't care for herself considering her net worth, and considering the fact her male counterparts of equal stardom with public mental health battles have never been under this much control. This is an issue and question of abuse in conservatorships at large. Unfortunately, the princess of Pop has somehow become the poster child of this type of crisis. While conservatorships can be beneficial when the best interest is at heart, we can't ignore the fact there are companies that profit enormously from people with disabilities by keeping them under extensive legal control. Are they providing the best care? If Britney has been too unwell to care for herself these past 12 years, why would she be made to work tirelessly? World tours? Vegas? X-factor? Her perfume line? Why not let her rest? Here's a good excerpt from Forbes, it's just not clear what is going on, but my initial gut thinks there is something that is not right. "In this case, Jamie Spears did not have legal authority to force Britney into treatment or to take psychiatric medications. But that doesn't mean that Britney's reported claim that she was held against her will is wrong. Rather, because Jamie has so much control over Britney's life through the conservatorship - including decisions like whether to get married, to perform or live in Las Vegas, or even if she can drive a car - he easily could have refused to grant consent for Britney to do any number of things unless she agreed to his request to enter the mental health treatment facility. In other words, Jamie could have indirectly forced her into treatment even if he could not explicitly sign her in against her will. But, even if Jamie Spears did so, he may have done it out of an earnest believe that Britney needed the treatment. TMZ previously reported that Britney was not doing well and her old course of medications stopped working, necessitating heightened treatment." Take what you will from this, but here are a few petitions to reinstate her rights in August is here - http://chng.it/CMfngqyMBj https://www.change.org/p/team-britney-freebritney

I have done Junkrat, Roadhog and McCree before here so if you wanna read those three, you can do that in that other post.
I'm going to leave out Torbjörn because he's married, Winston and Hammond because I'm not going to do the animals and Bastion because he's simply not expressive enough to be described in this.
I don't like writing angst in HC's so here are short scenarios.
Reinhardt
You were fighting right behind his shield, shooting the most dangerous enemies to protect your loved one. "Barrier is giving out!" He screamed, looking down at you. You nodded and acknowledged it. Your instincts told you to protect him at all costs. A big flood of enemies was coming to you and at the exact moment where Reinhardt announced "BARRIER DOWN" You jumped forward and threw a grenade into the mass of enemies. "Take cover!" You shouted.
"Y/N!" you heard his voice echo in your head, as you felt the wave of the explosion and how your body was pushed through the air like a ragdoll. You felt how you crashed to the ground, your whole body twitching in pain. Groaning, you tried to move but you simply couldn't. A shadow was visible in your blurry sight. "Nh..." "Y/N! Liebling! Stay with me!" Your body was lifted off the ground, the edges of your sight registering a familiar face.
You smiled, taking a deep, rattling breath. "My strong soldier in sh-" a coughing fit got to you before you could finish. "- in shining armor." Your shaking hand found his cheek. "Y/N... You will be fine, my darling. Angela will patch you up. Stay awake, my dear!" You felt him running. "I love you." You said and reached for him when he left you in the hovership with Mercy.
Doomfist
Akadne had actually told you to stay with the other women. In the back lines. Not because you were weak, but because he could be ruthless and didn't want you hurt.
And in this smaller fight, it was tactically smarter for you to fight closer to Widowmaker since you were fond of sniper rifles. Not as good as Amelie but good enough to fight for Talon. A scream passed your lips when a bullet pierced your shoulder. You came out from your cover and tried to get to Moira, but another shot robbed you of the ability to walk since your leg was hit by another shot. Right in your knee.
All you could think of, was to scream "AKADNE!" and lay as low to the ground as you could, protecting yourself with the gun and the twelve shots you had in the magazine.
Out of nowhere, the tall man stood next to you. "I should have been more careful." You said and tried to get up. He picked you up and kissed your forehead. "We are a team, Y/N. Everybody else should have looked after you better. Including me." You kissed him back, your blood smearing on his bare chest. "I'm sorry." You murmured, your chest heaving in pain. "I was careless." He didn't answer. Simply bringing you to Moira. "Fix this. Now" he barked and jumped off.
Genji
You waited for him in front of Shimada castle, giving him cover, keeping a way open... Sadly though, there were more Shimada guards than both of you had calculated. You saw your ninja slicing though them, while you tried your best with your pistols.
One of these bastards sliced the back of your kneecap, causing you to fall to the ground with a blood curdling scream. After that, a neat slice in your hip followed. "Fuck... Fuck fuck fuck!" You whimpered and cried. You heard Genji screaming your name. He summoned his dragon to kill every single person around you while you laid on the ground, bleeding and crying.
"Y/n... Don't leave me." He begged and softly held you. "I won't... You- you know that." You murmured and wrapped your arms around him. "You've been through worse." You couldn't hold the sobs of pain back. You saw your blood shimmering on his armor, painting him red. Redder than he had been before. Genji put his forehead to yours. "I love you." He said. "I love you too." You replied, your eyes closing, letting you glide into unconsciousness.
Hanzo
He knew that it would happen. Some assassins had broke into his place, forcing you two awake immediately and into a fight. They were swift to paralyze you with a tazer. Hanzo was still fighting them, when he suddenly heard a loud crack and a scream of yours that was heart breaking. Some of your ribs had been broken with an aimed kick to them.
You could barely breathe, only pathetic gasps helped you get air while you tried to drag yourself across the room towards Hanzo. As soon as he had heard that, he didn't hesitate anymore to shoot an arrow in every single assassins head. There were seven in total. He scrambled over to you, cupping your face in his hands.
"H-han..." You coughed up blood, "I... It hurts." He carefully dragged you into his lap. "I know, beautiful. You're strong. Don't leave me now." He didn't want to do that, but he couldn't lose you. He sent a message to Overwatch. That he needs help. That a life was at stake.
"They will pick you up, beautiful. They will help you." He would have to be with this damned organization for a mission or two, but your life was worth everything.
Reaper
You laid on the ground, your body twitching and writhing involuntarily. You had taken electrocution for Gabriel. One of his weaknesses. It had been a trap by Overwatch. Probably that damned Monkey. But you couldn't let him die. You simply couldn't risk it.
"G-g-gabriel" you said, shivering and crying. "S-sorry" your entire body hurt, loud sobs audible through the shots and the screams of the enemies. As soon as you felt hands on you, you screamed in pain. It was overwhelming, your entire skin was burnt. Your face was bleeding, the plastic from the clothes and the vest had burnt and molten into your body. He had to carry you to the hovership. To Moira. So she could help you.
It helped a little, When you felt Moira's hands hover over your skin. The Reaper leaned down, his mask off. His cold lips touched your burnt ones. You were twitching and whining. "I will kill him." Gabriel announced. "I promise, Y/N." Then his hand softly caressed your head. You kept twitching and crying. "Out now, Gabriel. You won't want to see this."
He turned to leave and all he heard was you screaming your heart out. He couldn't bare it. He couldn't listen to this torture... But he had to.
Soldier 76
Jack was running. With you in his arms. Towards Angela. He had to get to Angela! You couldn't die! No! You couldn't leave him! Your hand touched his cheek, a painful expression on your lips. "It hurts." You whispered, as your other hand laid on your ribs, pressing down on the wound like Jack had instructed.
"I know, baby. I know. Don't worry. We're almost there." He ran faster, you heard him huffing. Suddenly, there was a shot. Somebody had shot his ankle. He stumbled and fell, you tumbling from his arms, hissing in pain, a stone pressing down on the wound. Jack got back up, slumped to you, picked you back up and carried you to Angela.
"Dr. Ziegler. Help. Now." Angela jumped up, got you onto a cot and Jack to herself. "Not me, Angela. Y/N!" She shook her head. "You have to get back out there, Jack." She quickly healed his shot. "You can regenerate faster. Y/N can't." Then she got over to you. "I will have to perform surgery. OUT!" She shouted at Jack.
"Don't leave..." You begged, but Angela shushed him out. "Please... Jack..." Tears running down your face, that's the last thing Jack saw, before Angela pushed him out of the medic tent.
Lucio
"Oh no no no no no!" Lucio said when he saw you falling to the ground. He skated over as fast as he possibly could, dragging you out of plain sight. He put you down and fumbled around in his pockets. You let out a weak laugh.
"That was bound to happen, right?" You said and clutched your chest. Your lover had put on a healing song, amping it up as much as possible. "Stay, Y/N. Stay. Please." He begged as he wrapped a bandage around your wound.
"I.. I'm tired, Lu.. really tired." You told him, your eyes growing weaker. "Oh no." Lucio hissed, trying to stop the blood flow. "It's a beautiful day, Y/N." He said, his voice shivering. "The sun is out and it's... It's so nice and warm!" He tried to convince you that this ugly fight around the corner wasn't happening.
You smiled at him. "Yea... It's really nice weather." You said and looked up at the sun. "I wanna rest." You said and nuzzled your head to his chest. He wrapped his arms around you, the song still playing.
"Promise me, that you'll come back." He insisted. "Promise." You kissed his neck and murmured "Promise" as your mind was taken over by darkness.
Zenyatta
A fight in his home. Zenyatta had to count on Overwatch. And on you. But not right now. You laid on the outer platform of the Sanctum, looking up at his face while you felt healing energy was flowing through you.
Your head laid in his lap, he softly stroked your hair. "The Iris embraces you too, Y/N." You smiled, a bit of blood running down your lips. "I know, Zen. As long as you're with me, the Iris is around me." He softly pulled you up, careful not to touch the bullet wounds in your back. He softly held you in his arms, humming a melody.
"Zen... I don't want to leave." You choked out, your chest heaving now. "I don't want to go." "You can stay. You need to stay." He emphasized on that, putting his chin on top of your head, holding you closer. "My entire body hurts." You said, shivering in his arms. "Don't let me pass into the Iris yet. I don't want to die." He kept holding you. That was all he could do, while you said it over and over again.
"I don't want to die."
OH. MY. GOD. I SAT ON THIS FOR LIKE 2 HOURS. MNH! Guys, please be more specific with your characters. It was a LOT. really.

Liberals and Conservatives React Differently to Disgusting Pictures | Kathleen McAuliffe digs into the science of how people's feelings of disgust are correlated to political orientation:
When the data began rolling in, any skepticism about the project quickly dissolved. The subjects, 83 in total, were first shown a randomized mixture of neutral and emotionally evocative pictures—this second category contained both positive and negative images—while undergoing brain scans. Then they filled out a questionnaire seeking their views on hot-button political and social issues, in order to classify their general outlook on a spectrum from extremely liberal to extremely conservative. As Montague mapped the neuroimaging data against ideology, he recalls, “my jaw dropped.” The brains of liberals and conservatives reacted in wildly different ways to repulsive pictures: Both groups reacted, but different brain networks were stimulated. Just by looking at the subjects’ neural responses, in fact, Montague could predict with more than 95 percent accuracy whether they were liberal or conservative.
What is at work here?
Researchers have theories rather than answers. At a deep, symbolic level, some speculate, disgust may be bound up with ideas about “them” versus “us,” about whom we instinctively trust and don’t trust. In short, this research may help illuminate one factor—among many—that underlies why those on the left and the right can so vehemently disagree.
[...]
Some scientists—notably the psychologist Corey Fincher, at the University of Warwick, in England, and the biologist Randy Thornhill, at the University of New Mexico—theorize that foreigners, at least in the past, would have been more likely to expose local populations to pathogens against which they had no acquired defenses. Other scientists think germ fears piggyback on negative stereotypes about foreigners common throughout history—the notion that they’re dirty, eat bizarre foods, and have looser sexual mores.
[...]
Could a predilection toward revulsion indicate how we vote? A team led by Cornell’s David Pizarro and Yoel Inbar, at the University of Toronto, set out to answer that question by conducting an online study during the 2008 U.S. presidential contest between Barack Obama and John McCain. In the run-up to the election, the researchers assessed the contagion anxiety of 25,000 “demographically and geographically diverse” Americans and then surveyed the attitudes toward the candidates held by a random subset of the larger group. Those with the highest germ fear reported that they were more likely to vote for McCain, the Republican nominee and the more conservative candidate. Further, the actual proportion of votes that went to him in each state directly scaled with that state’s level of contagion anxiety. The researchers eventually extended studies of this kind to 121 countries and found that disgust sensitivity correlated with a conservative ethos basically everywhere there were sufficient data for analysis. As Pizarro, Inbar, and the other authors of the study write in the journalSocial Psychological and Personality Science, this result suggests that disgust sensitivity “is related to conservatism across a wide variety of cultures, geographic regions and political systems.”
[...]
A 2009 survey of 64,000 Americans revealed that liberals chose bitter-tasting arugula as their favorite salad green more than twice as often as conservatives did. It may also have a bearing on conservative President George H. W. Bush’s famous hatred of broccoli—an unusually bitter vegetable. Of course, sometimes a stalk of broccoli is just a stalk of broccoli.

Ventura Guitar Serial Number Lookup
Beautiful old vintage Ventura Bruno V14 guitar. Looking at other similar models on e-bay, I GEUSS it to be 60's-70's but I do not know. Serial number is 74725, could be made in Japan but I do not know! This guitar includes chipboard case, has warm aged tone, the vibe of old guitar. Ventura was a brand of stringed instruments imported from Japan by C. Bruno and Company during the 1960s and 1970s. Bruno was bought by Kaman in the early 1980s, after which the brand disappeared. Some of the Ventura guitars were knock-offs of the Martin line, such as the Ventura V-35 appearing similar to the Martin D-35, and the Ventura V. Good luck and happy Ventura hunting! Re: Ventura Guitar 14:51 on Saturday, June 5, 2004. (David Woodson) Posted by Archived posts. I have a 'Bruno' Ventura Classic gut string that I bought from C&S Music in Fort Worth,Texas in 1965-66. It has a nice classic tone but that is all I know about it.
GENERAL VINTAGE GUITAR RESOURCES:
Vintage Guitar Magazine - this is Vintage Guitar 101 and all neophytes are advised to start here. Of course, my favorite part is Michael Wright's 'Different Strummer' column, which covers the history of all those wild, wacky off-brand instruments in elaborate detail. VG has also published several of my own articles over the years, some of which can be found on this site.
The Blue Book - if you're serious about buying and selling used guitars, the Blue Book provides the most detailed pricing, dating and identification info. Much of it is available online for free.
GuitarHQ - a nice all-around mainstream vintage guitar site. All the standard Gibson and Fender type stuff, plus some other interesting odds and ends.
ProjectGuitar.com- where the Internet goes to work on guitars! All about guitar maintenance and repair.
MIMF - the Musical Instrument Makers Forum is a goldmine of information about materials, construction and repair techniques, including a gallery of unique custom built guitars that range from inept to incredible. If you need professional advice about repairing your old guitar, this is the place to ask.
Stewart-McDonald - a good source for replacement guitar parts and repair tools to keep your junker running. Also check out WD and Allparts. I'm not sponsored by or affiliated with these or any other manufacturer or retailer, but I'm often asked to recommend good parts sources.Well, here you go.
Ampage - a nice info source for amp schematics and other guitar electronics.
GuitarElectronics.com - lots of wiring diagrams.
Dr. Duck's Dating Service - an excellent resource, lots of serial numbers for many brands of guitars.
OTHER 'JUNK GUITAR' SITES:
Cheesy Guitars - a true kindred spirit, Meatex Z has created a wonderful site dedicated to all those unplayable Russian and Eastern European guitars. He was also nice enough to give me credit for naming his site and helping him out with information initially. We were originally going to do this project together, but decided that two sites are better than one. Go visit Meatex and tell him Big Beat says 'hi'.
SovietGuitars.com - this cool Russian language page for fans of Soviet era instruments is rapidly becoming an important resource.
Vintaxe.com - an excellent site about some of the lesser known vintage guitars produced in the 60's, 70's, and 80's. Lots of pictures and vintage catalog scans, including some of mine that I have shared with them.
My Rare Guitars - a nice collection of cheesy offbeat axes by a very hip collector and dealer. Vintage Normas, Ekos and Dominos galore, plus some great modern reissues.
Fetish Guitars - a fabulous site about Eko, Wandre, Galanti and other Italian guitars of the 60's. Both visually stunning and very informative, it is an absolute marvel.
Lordbizarre's Electric Guitar & Amp Museum - The name says it all. This collector from Belgium has put some seriously weird axes on display for your viewing pleasure.
Cheap Trashy Weird Old Guitars - cool name, and certainly the right spirit! A small but impressive collection of Egmonds, Wilsons, Musimas and even something called a Horugel.
21 Frets - I just love it when somebody takes totally trashed Hagstroms and Melody Makers and restores them from trash to flash. This site chronicles some really cool restoration projects.
Gudok - a Russian site that showcases 'the weapons of the proletariat', old Soviet guitars such as the Tonika, the Formanta and the Solo-II.
Hendrix Room - a Japanese site with a neat collection of totally off-the-wall 60's guitars with names like Youngtone and Melodier.
Animal Charme - dedicated to all those pointy headstock axes of the 80's, this is the home of the shred and heavy metal guitar!
Pointy Guitars - more 80's pointy guitar madness!
Guitare Collection - A wacky French site that showcases some totally bizarre Euro junk guitars, even including a couple from Russia.
Rockin' Hollowbody Guitars - a great forum for people of the thinline and archtop persuasion. If it's got F-holes, you'll find all about it right here.
Vintage Guitars - this Swedish dealer has a photo gallery with lots of Goyas, Hagstroms, Levins and other oddball Scandinavian beauties.
Vermona - here's a German page about those amps and synths, so familiar to professional Russian musicians of the 70's and 80's. Never mind Fender, Vox and Marshall, everyone behind the Iron curtain knew that the best amps were made by Vermona. This factory also produced the famous Weltmeister accordions and the Ionika electric organ. To many older Russians, 'Ionika' is still synonymous with 'keyboard'. See the old Vermona amps HERE and the original Ionika HERE.

: I bought this Ventura in 1980 at H & H music in Houston and I was just wondering what it is worth. It has a classical body style, not the dreadnought. The action is low and has an adjustable truss rod. The serial number is 60505 and the model # is V-200B. Does anyone out there have an accurate answer? Thank you for your time and effort in responding to this e-mail inquiry.
Have a great day.I ALSO HAVE A MATCHING PAIR OF V-11 BRUNO & V-15 12 STRING FROM MEMORIAL MUSIC JUST PRIOR TO H & H. THEY TOURED WITH BUFFETT IN 74-78 THROUGH CARIB/PROVO SOUTH & NORTH FLORIDA. NO ONE WILL VALUE THEM @ MORE THAN PURCHASE PRICE. : I bought this Ventura in 1980 at H & H music in Houston and I was just wondering what it is worth.

Have a great day.I have a Ventura Bruno V-12 I paid $110 for in 1972 at Hauschild's music in Victoria, TX. Don't know if they are still around as the owner was up in years then. I have heard they were made in Japan but I dont know this for sure.
Guitar ID and AppraisalThere are many reasons for determining the precise age of your used guitar. The most important one is probably pricing the instrument appropriately when you’re looking to sell it. Prices for certain vintage models vary by thousands of dollars depending on whether it’s a 1963, for example, or a 1964.
You’ll also need to know exactly what your guitar is worth for insurance purposes. One of the most valuable and often overlooked resources to help you identify and appraise guitars is your local used instrument dealer. It’s so important to establish a working relationship with these folks. While it may be tempting to call every store in the area in order to save a few dollars when you’re shopping for something, developing a loyalty to one or two shops pays off when you need service that goes beyond a simple purchase.
While most shops charge a fee for an official appraisal, it may take an experienced retailer only a second to realize that your old Epiphone is actually a Nova 390, produced from 1976 to 1980 in the company’s short-lived Japanese factory. The shop employee may be glad to look up the approximate value of your ax in a book and give you an opinion about what it’s worth. But if you randomly drop by a store that you’ve never been to before and ask for this kind of help, they might not take the time to look carefully at what you’ve got.LEARNING THE HISTORYIf you want to educate yourself to identify guitars, the first step is to become familiar with the histories of some of the larger companies.
In recent years, more and more books providing information on the major guitar manufacturers have become available, and they’re a great place to start. There are some basic questions to ask.
When did the company start building guitars? Where were the guitars manufactured? Did the company move in the course of its existence, and did it move its production overseas? Did the model in question change drastically during the years of production?
For example, Gibson’s J-200 started out with rosewood back and sides and fairly standard X-bracing in the late 1930s. It was changed to maple back and sides (except for a few rosewood examples) and a double-X bracing pattern in the ’50s. Yet another double-X bracing pattern was used during the ’70s, and then a more Martin-like scalloped X-bracing was adopted when the model was reintroduced in the late ’80s. These are all differences that would be difficult for the uneducated eye to notice, yet they drastically affect the guitar’s sound and value. At the very least, these books will identify the time period during which the guitar in question was produced, basic information that will, for example, keep you from paying a premium for a '1960s Martin HD-28' (you’ll know that this model wasn’t introduced until 1976). Sometimes you can narrow down even further the time period in which your guitar was built because of a certain distinguishing feature. For example, a volute or scroll at the back of a Gibson headstock usually indicates that the instrument was built between 1974 and 1981 (although some appeared as early as 1969).Another thing that the trained eye will immediately be able to pick up on is whether an instrument was built in the U.S.
Or imported from one of the many low-end Asian manufacturers. When I worked in retail, a customer once walked in with a Ventura archtop for sale.
Convinced that he had a guitar that was built in the U.S. In the ’50s, he stormed out after I told him what I’d be able to offer him for it. Even if I hadn’t known that Venturas were made in Japan during the ’70s (which was confirmed by a quick look in the Vintage Guitar Price Guide), I knew as soon as he opened the case. It was mostly the guitar’s thick finish that gave it away, complete with lacquered neck-to-body joints and drips through the f-holes. The wimpy hardware was another dead giveaway that this guitar was neither domestically made, as he thought, nor a high-quality import. The best place to gain this kind of familiarity is at your local music store’s used-and-cheap section; the more guitars you inspect, the more experienced you’ll be.One of the biggest roadblocks in identifying a guitar can often be the serial number.
These numbers are frequently inconsistent or missing from reference books. In many cases, a serial number by itself is about as useful as a phone number with a missing digit. Few companies have consistently used the same system of numbering during their entire existence (Martin is among those that have). For example, Gibson began using an eight-digit number in 1977.
The first and fifth digits indicated the year of production (8XXX2XXX meant it was built in 1982). If you tried to apply this formula to a serial number on an older Gibson, or even a newer vintage reissue (which sometimes use 'vintage' serial numbers) you’d be making a big mistake.REFERENCE BOOKSSo, how does one go about accurately identifying a used instrument? Probably the publication most often referred to is Gruhn’s Guide to Vintage Guitars. Written by George Gruhn (of Gruhn Guitars in Nashville) and Walter Carter, the guide is a must-have for identifying older American-made guitars. Organized into brands, general information, serial numbers, specific features, and model designations, the book identifies most major-brand guitars of the past and offers meticulous descriptions and a wealth of helpful photos. It offers little or no information on smaller makers, budget instrument makers, and recent entries into the guitar market.Although designed to give approximate values for vintage instruments, the Vintage Guitar Price Guide is also quite useful in identifying instruments. While it doesn’t describe each model’s features in detail, it does provide a company history for most of the makers included.
The book’s many photos can be very helpful, and the general listings, which include many off-brands, are among the most complete available. As with all price guides, the dollar amounts shown are to be taken with a grain of salt, but having even a vague idea of an instrument’s value will make you a more savvy buyer or seller.Another excellent resource is the Blue Book of Guitars. This hefty book probably represents the most complete compilation of information on guitars that have not yet reached vintage status.

It’s one of the few books that lists instruments made by companies such as Kay and J.B. Player and by individual luthiers such as Dave Maize and Steve Klein. Besides retail price information, the book includes brief descriptions of most companies and models listed, as well as a unique section on grading the condition of an instrument. In a color section, a variety of guitars are pictured front and back, showing a range of possible conditions-from 20 percent (poor) to 100 percent (new). You can also join guitar-related newsgroups on the Internet, but beware of advice from uneducated participants posing as guitar experts. Of particular interest to acoustic guitarists are rec.music.makers.guitar.acoustic, rec.music.makers.guitar.jazz, and rec.music.classical.guitar.

You might also check out rec.music.makers.guitar and alt.guitar.These resources and the others in the Acoustic Guitar Owner's Manual should help you on your way to becoming a guitar expert. All you need is hours and hours of paging through every available book on the subject, countless weekends spent at guitar shops and vintage instrument shows, a careful examination of all of your picking buddies’ axes, and (let’s face it) the purchase of a lemon or two.Excerpted from Acoustic Guitar magazine, October 1998, No. 70.Toll Free 877-712-4747.

FROSTQUAKES
If the just plain **** cold isn’t bad enough, don’t be surprised if you find yourself rolled out of your bed some frigid night in what felt like an earthquake.
Frostquakes may feel like a typical tectonic earthquake – there may be shaking, there may be rattling, books might fall from shelves, there might be things that go boom in the night; most frostquakes occur between midnight and dawn. Frostquakes can reach what feels like a magnitude 4 on the Richter scale, though they are so localized that they fail to show up on seismographs. A bit more technical sounding term for this phenomenon is “Cryoseism” (from the Greek, Kryo for cold, and “seismos” for earthquake).
Frostquakes are caused by the freezing of subsurface water. Water turning to ice is a powerful agent of a geologic process (ice fracturing) that can force (http://tinyurl.com/nsctgau) rocks to crack, mountains to split, and exfoliation of solid stone surfaces. When water that is present in shallow soils and sediments or in cracks and fissures in the ground freezes, it gains ~9% in volume when it becomes ice. This expansion can occur abruptly in extremely frigid temperature conditions, even explosively, and cause fracturing in the shallow subsurface. This sets off shockwaves that act the same as seismic shockwaves.
Cryoseisms are also phenomena that accompany glaciation, but since this cold snap is not expected to last long enough to blanket Ohio with rivers of ice, be thankful that we haven’t got THAT ****ing cold enough yet!

Wolfgang Tillmans
Despite being German born, the multi-talented photographer Wolfgang Tillmans made a name for himself by documenting the late 1990’s London gay club scene. Although his work has highlighted a myriad of different subjects and technical styles, Tillmans’ work is driven by his eye for aesthetically driven, photo composition and political motivations. Beginning with his work in London during the 90’s, Tillmans has highlighted the individuals and spaces who progress movements that champion LGBTQ+ rights. Tillmans’ often raw subject matter, even if it occasionally appears mundane, has the ability to convey deep, often incredibly passionate meaning. Although much of Tillmans’ early work was primarily featured in commercial publications like iD and Index Magazines, it wasn’t long before Tillmans’ work was recognized for its importance to the global artistic community. In 2000, he became the the first non-British artist and the first photographer to win the coveted Turner Prize for young visual artists. The deciding jury cited, “his ability to look at often unregarded aspects of the everyday and create striking images from them”, which is a skill that is evident in the two works I have decided to compare in this paper. Through an examination of Tillmans’ 2014 work “17 Years’ Supply” and his 2016 Anti-Brexit campaign, I will depict the artists’ uncanny ability to convey deep political meaning with his work and use his art as a vessel for his activism.
The first work I will examine, 2014’s “17 Year Supply” is a stand alone piece that Tillmans’ photographed over a three year period of work that he would eventually compile for publication entitled 2017. The image, which was purchased by the Seattle Art Museum in 2016, is a twelve by sixteen inch inkjet print on paper. The photograph depicts a collection of medication vials, displayed loosely in a nondescript cardboard box. Upon closer examination, a familiar viewer might notice that a large collection of the medication is used primarily to treat HIV. They might also notice that the artists’ name is displayed on some of the visible labels of the vials, for Tillmans has been living with HIV for most of his adult life. The powerful symbolism of the image goes beyond the artists’ personal experience with the medication, and finds its true weight in the story behind its name. As the image was constructed and captured to commemorate the seventeenth anniversary of the passing of Tillmans’ former partner, Jochen Klien, who died due to complications brought upon by AIDS related pneumonia. The straightforward composition and bland colors of the potograph’s subject highlights the deep meaning behind the larger work. The photograph is a haunting reminder of the realities that victims of disease in general, but especially those who suffer with HIV, have to live with on a daily basis. Underlying the empty medicine vials is the pain that the recipients of the prescriptions must overcome to survive. In an interview with Peter Halley shortly after the publication of this image, Tillmans discussed the impact of HIV and AIDS on his work. In regards to the moments that inspired the creation of his 2014 work Tillmans’ statement, “That’s the darkest period in my life”, illustrates the gravity behind the seemingly plain photograph. For, when one takes a closer look at the work, the pain and suffering of the artist becomes apparent rather quickly.
The second work of Tillmans’ I chose to examine was his 2016 Anti-Brexit campaign, of which he undertook with the help of his activist minded creative team, Between Bridges. The campaign is a series of 25 “posters” that were made adaptable to be printed, worn, or shared on social media. A collection of four statements from Tillmans accompany the images within which the artist makes clear his intentions and motivations for launching the campaign. In his original statement from April 25th, 2016, he cites the official British Labor party’s campaign as a major motivator for this project. Stating, “The official ‘Remain’ campaign feels lame and is lacking in passion. It also lacks an active drive to get voters registered”, Tillmans’ illustrates his knowledge of effective activist aesthetics as well as a well-reasoned and targeted political motivation. Traits that are evident in much of the artists’ work. From a technical perspective, the campaign highlights Tillmans’ eye for composition as well as his range in aesthetic styles, as much of his photography that is featured in the campaign makes use of abstraction and minimalism. Additionally, making the images adaptable to many different mediums, whether they are shared in his cropped versions to social media or printed on shirts at home by supporters, illustrates Tillmans’ versatility as an artist as he can make his work approachable through a variety of vessels. One image that I find particularly striking depicts an empty desert landscape with the caption, “It’s a question of where you feel you belong. We are the European family. Vote Remain on 23rd June”. The poster juxtaposes the empty landscape in its background with the sentiments of community administered in its copy, effectively communicating the motivations of the campaign and illustrating Tillmans’ ability to make use of simple, yet striking imagery.
In conclusion, although both projects display different technical styles of photography, both “17 Years Supply” and Tillmans’ “Anti-Brexit Campaign” illustrate the artists ability to create meaning through seemingly mundane subject matter. While the former sheds light on his personal pain and trauma induced from his history battling HIV, the latter provides an effective vessel for his political activism. Beyond being beautiful to observe, both works say a lot about the range of one of the greatest turn of the century photographers, Wolgang Tillmans.
