Look at this man!

His name is Hari, I met him at a shelter today, and he is big. BIG. This man’s paws are the size of my palms. This man’s body is the size of my torso. This man climbed directly onto my shoulders the moment I opened his box, and I was scared he would fall because I was too weak to hold him there, so I got help supporting him while I crouched down to the floor, only for him to try to climb up their arms onto their shoulders.

He ran around on the floor for a while, then tried to jump up on a counter to steal treats. He missed. He got his front paws hooked in the sink, then slowly slid down while we rushed to catch him. He chased a toy around and loved on all 4 people in the room.

A big, friendly man. Unfortunately, my room is still decontaminating from Tortellini being sick and Hari here is 15, so I couldn’t risk his health by bringing him home. Someone else asked to look at him while I was there, but then she put him back at soon as she heard his age.

It broke my heart to leave him there.

So. If anyone lives in/near Vermont and wants a big orange boy to climb on their shoulders and give them love for the rest of his old man life: He’s in the Brattleboro shelter, he was just surrendered this week, and he’s wonderful.

You have done amazing job and the private shelter I follow and have my two lovely dogs from shared few pics from receiving the dog food from Brit.

Most of these dogs are living permanently in the shelter as their souls were so damaged by humans that they became too aggressive or in other ways problematic and can't go into adoption. The shelter is run by experts on dog behaviour and these dogs live in the most natural way so they are happy - in a pack. The people from shelter work with these dogs and if there's at least a little chance for any of them to actually learn enough so they can go into adoption, the people will help them to find a new home.

Thanks to your effort and clicking, this pack is going to enjoy the food donated by Brit. Just for your information, this will last them for 3 days. Yes... the pack is large and they eat a lot. I can tell it's a good estimation because I know how much my dogs eat. 😊

This is Nova!

Nova is a 9.5 month old shorthair tabby – male, neutered, and microchipped.

His current home situation is not good for him or anyone here - he needs a new home ASAP.

Nova is playful and active, clumsy, doesn’t mind being picked up, and will happily sit in laps when he’s tired of playing. He’s social and friendly and loves open windows.

Nova will come with a nice carrier, all of his toys, a couple cat beds, his scratching post, a few blankets and towels, and all of his medical history.

Nova has digestive difficulties, so his dietary needs are particular, but his current regimen is working well for managing his symptoms and letting him live a normal kitty life.

In Baltimore County, MD: FINAL/URGENT: Longest Term Dog Seeking Rescue or Adopter!

Baltimore County Animal Services currently has over 100 dogs in our care and are looking for help from rescues and adopters. Meatloaf is one of our longest term adoptable dogs, an estimated 2 year old, 62 pound Pit Bull that came to us as a stray. Meatloaf is a sweet and social guy that would like a home where he can be the only dog. Unfortunately, Meatloaf recently started deteriorating and has increased reactivity towards other dogs and is becoming more difficult to handle in the shelter. We are hopeful a rescue or adopter that can meet Meatloaf’s needs will be able to take him in. Meatloaf is neutered, tested negative for heartworm, and is up to date on vaccines. Adopters are welcome to visit our adoptable pets 12pm-5pm Tuesdays-Sundays. If you are interested in pulling Meatloaf, or have any questions, please let us know!
