ATTENTION: NORTH CAROLINA CAT NEEDS LOVING HOME
If you are a cat owner, live in/near North Carolina, and are willing to make a drive, this sweet boy wants to be your new best friend! Meet Ricky! He is AVAILABLE to a loving home!! He's almost certainly not a hapless old man polymorphed into a cat!!!
URGENT
We're moving out-of-state next week and would love to see him get rehomed! Local shelters/fosters are full and Humane Society is closed for intake.
He's very affectionate, takes a pet no problem:
He is fixed, around 5 years old (best guess), and extremely friendly towards people and other cats. Our cats love him but we are tragically at cat-pacity for our lease. Definitely a former inside kitty who would be very happy in a home with another cat. I cannot vouch for his behavior around dogs but I think he would be alright with older kids who are familiar with cats. Tolerates being picked up, good "soft paw" play etiquette, and is coming around to being a lap cat.
Interested? PLEASE message/shoot me an ask for more information! I really want to give this little guy the home he deserves and get another kitty off the streets. Non-NC residents PLEASE signal boost and let your friends know! Let's get this guy adopted!
Keep this post circulating, my asks and DMs are open to questions 💜🐱
MORE CAT PICS BELOW THE CUT!

Hey everybody, meet Domino!
She’s a two-time teen mom down on her luck, but she’s left her bad home situation behind, gotten vaxxed, spayed and treated for fleas, and now she is ours!
The first time I saw her, I thought from her size she was probably six months old, but that’s what happens when dumbass humans let their four month old kittens get pregnant, and then don’t fix her afterward so their eight month old kitten gets pregnant again! Poor Domino’s body has spent most of her life growing other kittens instead of herself. She’s skinny as a rail and about 2/3 the size of Callisto in all dimensions, but she is sweet and brave and we all fell in love with her instantly. (Except Callisto, who is getting a supervised introduction, but we are pretty confident that these two yearling girlies will become friends and playmates.)
As for Callisto, she is very unsure about this new development, but she does like the “getting wrapped in a blanket” portion of scent introductions.

Baby Dove Looking For A Home!
Hello all! Some of you may know that I have a mated pair of domestic ringneck doves! One is Puddleglum, this big, doofy, cackling, gray nerd.
And the other is Truancy, the prettiest peach lady and unrepentant seed glutton (also the daughter of @hellenhighwater ’s doves Arson and Larceny).
Like husband like wife
What you may not know is these two lay eggs like clockwork. Since I don’t know a lot of people looking for doves, I normally replace these with fakes or make the eggs nonviable before giving them back, and they’ll sit on them for two weeks before taking a week to make new ones. But this time, I MESSED UP—turns out I did not make them nonviable properly, and by the time I double-checked, I couldn’t just destroy them since they had gotten started.
SO, I am looking for a home for a baby dove or two! Here are the goobers at about a week old as of today (July 15):
One is way smaller than the other, so I waited to post about them until I was sure it was getting enough feed and care from the parents. But it seems to be doing really well now! They should both be old enough for new homes in about a month.
I already have one person interested, so I really just need one more. They are free to a good home (I’d like to see pics of your potential cage setup, and I can offer tips to new dove owners). I can’t gaurantee gender unless we do a DNA test, but I can get that done for $20 (for one bird) if you’re willing to reimburse me for that. I also offer a sandwich baggie of safflower seeds, the doves’ favorite snack.
I’m in southwest Ohio and am willing to drive a bit to meet you if needed. My family also has an alpaca farm that is hosting our August Alpaca Day on Aug. 19, if you want to make a trip of it! :D
Please PM for more details! And I will try to post updates here of the tiny floofs as they grow!
-River

Ok I'm ready to move in with you~! 😸
Meet Nova!
Nova is a 9.5 month old shorthair tabby – male, neutered, and microchipped.
His current home situation is not good for him or anyone here - he needs a new home ASAP.
No adoption fees - love and care is all you need to take this little guy home!
Adopt him here: Nova's Adopt A Pet profile
Nova is playful and active, clumsy, doesn’t mind being picked up, and will happily sit in laps when he’s tired of playing. He’s social and friendly and loves open windows.
Nova will come with a nice carrier, all of his toys, a couple cat beds, his scratching post, a few blankets and towels, and all of his medical history.
Nova has digestive difficulties, so his dietary needs are particular, but his current regimen is working well for managing his symptoms and letting him live a normal kitty life.
Please share this as much as possible so we can find Nova a safe and loving home!

Warning I get a bit politically and frustrated I guess.
One important message to you all. Keep your fucking indoors-outdoors beef outside of the adoption groups, post and shelters. I don't care what side you're on, do not bring it up, because by doing that you are actively harming the chances of the kitten/cat being adopted.
Here, let me explain to you a few concepts that so many people apparently can't graspt:
Not everyone can adopt any cat in need they see. That's just not possible.
Just because someone isn't trapping every single cat outdoors they see doesn't mean they're animal abuser or are single handly responsible for ecological damage.
Not every feral cat can be caught and castrated by a random person with no training or equipment.
Cats born into the wild are not homeless. Do not treat them like strays.
A feral cat is an outdoor, free-roaming cat that has never been socialized to humans and is living in a “wild” state. Because they're not socialized to people, feral cats are not adoptable. If you take them to a shelter, they will almost certainly be killed there.
In the eyes of the law of many countries feral cats born in the wild are not and, by the definition, cannot be homeless as the wilderness is their home. Taking them from their natural habitat and entrapping them in houses is wrong and in same place even illegal.
Feral cats, unlike strays, cannot live a happy life indoors. They often live in groups, called colonies, wherever they can find food. They are happier in their own territory with their colony family.
Stray cats on the other hand were once pets and are lost or abandoned. They will try to make a home near humans in garages, porches or backyards, because they relay on human help.
Not every wild-born kitten will be feral, in fact most won't, and not every feral cat can't be tamed, some can go through process of socialising to make the adoptable. That's not up to you to decided tho, unless you met the cat and know your shit.
Because people where I live (Poland) found this simple concept so hard to understand, animal shelters around me no longer accept cats from private people, only from organisations and authorities, since so many of them were people's outdoors pets and feral cats. This already makes it harder to help cats in need.
But the real problem I have is something that happens more and more nowadays and even happend to my family. A feral cat, who lives in our forest and we're trying to tame, gave birth to 7 kittens on our farm and left them in our care. Only two of 7 were feral and strong enough to live in the wild, so we tried to find homes for the rest. Upon mentioning they were born from a feral living close us we were blocked from every single adoption group. The reason? We apparently were 'abusers and breeders', because we tried to help kittens who would 100% died if left alone, instead of focusing on somehow finding cats that lives somewhere in the giant woods, capturing them with no equipment and driving with them 2h+ to make them go through abortion and castration that most of them probably wouldn't even survive. Yeah.
BTW we never found homes to those kittens, because of crazy indoor cat ladies that would shit on every single post of ours and got us blocked. Obviously we didn't leave the cats alone, considering only one in five feral kittens will live to five months of age. We were forced to travel with them 4 hours and keep them in our small house with 3 other adult cats that were not happy about the situation. Eventually we gave one to my Uncle, one was left at the vet to find home (she did), and the last one stayed.
So, for the love of God, regardless if you think cats should be indoors or outdoors DO NOT FUCKING ARGUE ABOUT IT UNDER SOMEONE "FOR ADOPTION" POSTS. Even if you're right. Do not try to bring feral cats to shelters. Do not make it some random person responsibility to deal with feral cats. If you really care about those outdoors, stray and feral cats then research the topic and try advocating for change with how we handle wild-born kittens and castration of feral cats, because right now, depending on where you live, the authorities will most probably only maybe check on them and give them food.
In case I haven't made it clear, I do not think feral cats should be just left alone, even if they shouldn't be adopted.

It's Rabbit awareness week so it's time to drill you on basic care
Bunnies are not for children! They stress easy and can be difficult to care for. Rabbits are more suited to older teens and adults. I got my first bunny at 17.
You should aim to keep 2 or more but if you have time to dedicate to one bunny, they will still thrive. My first bunny was a lone boy and he was extremely loving. Please adopt! So many bunnies are given up because parents get them for kids and kids can't care for them
They eat mostly hay so always make sure they have fresh hay to eat. The greener the hay the better it is. A handful of pellets per rabbit per day is fine and too many pellets will give you chubby bunnies. They can eat most veg and herbs; always Google before giving them anything new. Onion plants are poisonous. Fruit should only be given as a rare treat.
You can litter train rabbits if you want to keep them inside. If you have a garden fresh grass is really good for them and they keep your garden looking nice.
Brushing and clipping nails can be difficult so be aware of that and be gentle with them. Get some pet remedy or bachs pet rescue for grooming and travelling. ALWAYS NEUTER THEM. cancer is very common especially in females after 2 years.
Now go adopt some bunnies please, make the world a better place ❤️

War Paws evacuated some dogs to the UK two years ago when Ukraine was invaded, and has others waiting in Romania, but there's been a lot of prejudice rising against 'foreign dogs' in the UK recently, and they have had no enquiries for either foster or adoption.
If you might be interested in fostering or adopting a dog refugee in the UK, please take a look at their dogs?
This one is called Karim. I would offer to foster her myself if I didn't have a very old frail dog who doesn't need the stress of an unfamiliar dog in her house. More details.
