In true burnin0akleaves spirit I didn't ask anyone for requests and just went ahead with all of the characters that have been the most impactful/important to me, so there is a high chance you've seen me draw these guys before.

Ohh the Dark Urge. My latest obsession. I love his design so much, I'm a slut for white/red color schemes, but I feel like it's a double edged sword that takes you out of the horrors he's commiting at the same time?

Durge is supposed to be murder incarnate, someone that does every fucked up thing related to death imaginable; but when you see a giant lizard eating babies or humping corpses, it dulls the effect a bit since you automatically view it as an animalistic act. Dragonborns are obviously a fully sentient humanoid race in-universe; but when the violence you're seeing is already toeing the line between horrifying and hilarious, seeing a scalie doing it just pushes it over the line. I still think it works really well most of the time and I'm very glad that this is the default durge we get! It's just funny to me that when you choose to play as the giant lizard, the dark and disgusting horror story turns into the hilariously edgy bloodfest.

Reminding everyone again that Siyra belongs to @nineteen-rats! I love this man so so so much. I am the Siyra fandom. I am the number one Siyra fanartist. He did nothing wrong and I will defend his every decision. I also hope terrible horrors befall him and that his actions keep him awake for the rest of his life. Pookie bear xoxo

He is on my mind, always. I don't talk about him as much but he's probably still the fictional character who had the most impact on me as a person.

PATROCLUS! PATROCLUS!!! SIR I'M YOUR NUMBER ONE FAN!!

I got into patrochilles and the Illiad in general thanks to "The Song of Achilles". It was one of the first queer books I got to have in real life and the prose captivated me instantly, I still have it on my shelf. After reading the Illiad itself however, I hate that book so much. I'm sorry it's genuinely beautiful and I get why people like it but I can never forgive that horrible Patroclus characterization after seeing what he was originally like. Achilles too for that matter.

Hades swooped me up into its arms like I was a sick baby bird and nursed me back to health with its portrayal of the two though and for that I am forever grateful. I can't wait for Hades 2, death to Chronos.

God Half-Life is such an important series for me. My dad would let me play through a few levels since I was a child, he grew up with the games, but I REALLY played through the entire series one summer shortly before dad moved out. He was there watching me play most of it and getting to enjoy someone actually translate the game's dialogue for him for the first time.

Gordon may not speak once but I like the hints of his personality we get throughout the games, most importantly from the way Alyx talks to/about him. I have my own characterization of him obviously but I do really think you can get a good understanding of the kind of man he is meant to be in-universe just by paying attention to his surroundings. Also another reason the games were so immersive for me is that I'm just as in love with Alyx as Gordon is. I must have let her get hit only once or twice the entire time just out of how protective I was over her. I'd topple the entire Combine empire just for her hand in marriage. I rewatched the ending of Half Life Alyx recently and cried.

I read the entirety of LOTR in one week in 11th grade, carrying that damn brick of a book everyday to school and back. I'm so glad I did honestly. Frodo and Sam are my important little guys and I find myself going back to them when I need something to calm me down in a way no other series except LOTR can. I've read most of Tolkien's work at this point, but nothing captivated me like those two little hobbits. Everytime I read a bad take about their relationship I sketch them making out.

People liked seeing my drawing process before so here's the original sketch and the little notes I wrote to myself trying to set the mood. I followed like half of them.

A Kurt Schaffenberger-drawn 1966 comic book ad for the Captain Action action figure. Schaffenberger was, at the time, exclusively working for DC Comics, so this was his first (and probably only) time in his career drawing the non-DC characters like Captain America, Sgt. Fury, The Lone Ranger, The Phantom, Steve Canyon and Flash Gordon.

I really wanted a Captain Action figure, but only for his ability to become various superheroes, which were pretty much non-existent in the action figure world back then. Actually, young me would've probably been happy with just the Superman outfit.

Me sainted parents, however, could not be sold on the idea, as I already had a G.I. Joe and that should be good enough (neither of them were keen on superheroes or comic books). Even when I begged them just to get me the Superman outfit so I could put it on my Joe (I'd've made it work somehow), they wouldn't budge.

So my RA/Batman AU is centered around Halt being airheaded playboy Prince (Princie) Halt O'Carrick by day; strong, silent, scary Halt the Ranger by night.

No, I have no idea how he zips to and from Clonmel and Araluen. This is a joke, remember?

Anyway, Will is Robin.

Gilan is also Robin.

Crowley is Alfred, albeit a younger and ginger-er Alfred.

Duncan is Commissioner Gordon.

Pauline is Barbara Gordon, as you cannot convince me she wouldn't be absolutely fantastic with computers.

Or possibly she's Catwoman.

Or possibly she's Alfred, and Crowley is Catwoman, and Alyss is Barbara.

Sir Rodney is Harvey Bullock.

Morgarath is Joker as soon as he can be convinced to dye his hair green.

Or possibly he's Penguin, but with Wargals instead of penguins, and Ferris is Joker.

Abelard is the Batmobile.

IN MEMORIAM: GORDON T. DAWSON

I guess one of the unfortunate side effects of being in showbiz for 30 years is that, nowadays, it seems like there's a steady drip, drip, drip of people I've worked with and respect passing away.

Today it was Gordon T. Dawson's turn.

So moment of silence please while I tip one out for an old gunslinger.

Gordon Dawson freelanced DS9's "Shakaar" which is, appropriately, a stealth Western. He was a little bit of the old west that survived into the 21st century. A cowboy in the best way. An earthy stoic with a poetic soul. It was an honor to work with him.

The man collaborated with Sam Peckipah. That makes him a legend even if he hadn't written 9 Rockford Files and 30 Walker: Texas Ranger eps. Combine those things. Step back. Stand in awe.

He also gave the DS9 staff one of the most flattering compliments ever. It's day two of the "Shakaar" break. After a long day one, hammering at the structure, he came back for day two. He looked up at the board and said...

"When you folks get home at night, you must pour blood out of your boots." Cowboy to English translation: "Wow, you guys work HARD." One of the nicest things anyone's ever said to me. One of the finest gentlemen I've ever had the pleasure of breaking story with.

Rest in Peace, Gordon T. Dawson. Ride on past that sunset and straight up to heaven.

"Gotham Rangers' (Tim, Duke, Steph, Cass, Harper) pet ideas:

Tim: A rescued alien spider-like creature named "Kon the 2", about the size of a large chihuahua. Eats roaches and rats. Friendly, seems to obey Tim's commands well enough. Lives in a special aviary provided by Clark. Likes watching cartoons.

Duke: A ferret named Hamlet. Probably magic, regenerates from injury. Duke rescued her from a sorcerer and now she won't leave him alone. Really likes "people food", spicy chicken especially. Duke defeated the before mentioned sorcerer after attending a performance of Hamlet (supporting a friend), hence the name.

Cass: A blind cat named Tiresias. With Selina's advice, Cass makes sure Tiresias lives the best life they can. The Cuddliest Thing.

Steph: 2 Mastiffs named Rock Wayne and Stone Gordon. Rescued guard dogs from a drug-lord, Steph decided to make them hers and her mother's guardians. The Bestest Boys.

Harper: An ape-like "Cyberplant", a survivor of one of Ivy's "Weird Phases". Harper named them "Simic", and does her best to ensure Simic is well taken care of. Friendly though wary of strangers.

Halt absolutely adores Cassandra, Steph, Babs, and all the girls in the batfam. He's alright with the others and guys, but he adores those girls. Just like how I wholeheartedly believe that despite Will being his kid, his favorite was Alyss. So typical of him to like his daughter-in-law more.

He absolutely indulges Cass when she wants to learn how the rangers move silently and seem to disappear even though Halts is so sure that she might be one of the best at those things he's ever seen.

Steph tags along, and he's impressed at how well she moves and blends with her purple outfit.

Wildly he also really like Selina. Halt thinks Selina can do better than Bruce. This is despite that fact that he has caught Selina trying to steal multiple times. She doesn't know how he does it, but he's always there.

Dick, Jason, Barbara, Tim, Cassie, Stephanie, Damian, Maps, Cassie, Max, Carrie, and Terry looking at Bruce.

Dick: "So they Rangers get Zords. When do we get Zords?"

Bruce: "What?"

Jason: "When do we get Zords?"

Stephanie: "Yeah big guy, we need Zords too."

Tim: *nodding sagely* Zords would be helpful.

Bruce: *tiredly* "Why. The Rangers can handle things."

Dick: "But Zords!"

Bruce: "Dick..."

Batkids: "Zords!"

And that's when Alfred has to intervene. And yes, somehow Bruce does end up making them all Zords.
