Something completely out of left field:
SD Gundam Battle Alliance, or probably best Gundam PC game that you can *legally* get.
(Img source is the games cover from the Bandai Website)
I'm not a game reviewer so take what I say with a grain of salt, and as much as I love the game I don't want to claim that it's perfect.
The premise:
You're playing as someone called the "Commander" running some tests on GM's during Operation Odessa, unfortunately during the test you and you're squad called the Gatheroad Squadron got thrown into something the G Universe. And now it is your job to fix it.
The story isn't anything to write home about, but it's certainly a good background for the gameplay. And it facilitates a whole bunch of interactions between characters who otherwise couldn't.
The game might be all about using chibi-fied Mobile Suits to wreck other chibi-fied Mobile suits and getting paid for it. But to me the standout gimmick is that I can put Sulleta Mercury and Char Aznable on my team and have them bicker a bit, sure not everyone gets unique interactions but what there is is great.
The Gameplay:
The gameplay is really simple, it's a hack-n-slash, you explore some decently sized maps, collect some chests and most importantly use your chosen MS to absolutely wreck some stuff.
Throughout the game you're taken into some different moments in all of Gundam, but something is just not right, like when Ramba Ral attacked the White Base but he's replaced by Mika in the Barbatos, or how Io Fleming joins you during the Battle of Solomon and helps you kill Lok Kujan. Those are just a few of those moments because the game is completely filled with those.
But onto the actual gameplay, you get to choose between a lot of Gundam's, Ace MS's and a few grunts, they're divided into the three classes:
All-Rounders, the class that's good at close and long ranges, the Xi Gundam for example.
Sharpshooters, excelling at long range, like the Aerial.
In-fighters, the melee units, think units like Barbatos.
And you're goal is to beat the missions in a given time (it's usually long) while listening to the team waffle with the characters taking part in the mission. No dub but it's not too bad but if you struggle with reading quickly it might be a problem.
The resident Char clone:
Hermes Mercury and his dope Gundam Latreia, I won't talk too much about him to avoid spoilers but his boss fights are probably the hardest thing the game has to offer.
The aesthetic:
All the Mobile Suits and maps are build around the SD aesthetic but it still looks really good and the mecha have a good amount of detail. Outside of the actual gameplay the game takes on this visual novel thing where you sometimes respond but it's mostly the crew giving you exposition.
All in all it's one of my favorite games I've played ever, even if it's a bit dlc heavy.
8/10 genuinely recommend any Gundam fan play it.

Adding more to the Rook being Robin Hood Theory/ Rare Beastmen Theory:
Hello folks. Me at it again with another theory, but this time about Rook. Now if you don't know there has been a theory about Rook being Robin Hood for years. Thing is I have my own take on the theory and I want to share it. Sad to say I can't find the original poster for the "Rook is Robin Hood theory" But if you can please tell me so I can credit the OP. But I do want to share this theory someone else did on twitter about Rook being a beastmen as well by in a different point of view. Here is the link: https://twitter.com/MoonlightEquin1/status/1625355871999098880 I also want to add the theory that me and my friend @dgttwisted had about a rare beastmen birth that could happen. I promise it's not gross. Just a theory that could connect to Rook, but first I am going to cover the Robin Hood Rook theory. As well as cover one thing that people forget about Robin Hood that could connect to Rook more. With that out the way let's go to the theory. Also Spoilers to the Robin Hood movie and Twisted wonderland so warning when reading.
For those who don't know there is a theory that Rook might be a twst version of Robin Hood. To recap I want to abridge what the theory points out, and even bring up what others over looks for how similar Rook and Robin are. Sadly I can't find the original post of the theory so if I forgot something or if I point out something that was addressed to it in things I noticed, then I apologize for that mistake. What has been said by others of the theory:
1.) Rook Hunt and Robin Hood have the same initials. (R.H) 2.) Both are good archers or known to be archers. 3.) Rook's unique magic is "I see you" Which is him being able to locate anyone in Twisted wonderland with a arrow. Which could connect to Robin Hood's skill to always lock onto a target. 4.) Rook has a great sense of smell, has good eyesight, and amazing hearing which are almost super human in a way. Which also translates to his archery and hunter theme. Because of these things people think Rook might be related to fox Beastmen in some way.
5.) Both Rook and Robin like to tease a lion who are not king. 6.)Rook has 5 siblings meaning his parents have 6 kids. Same number of kids Robin told Marian he wanted to have with her. 7.) Robin told Marian that he wanted to travel the world with her. Rook mentions that his family own villas all over the world. As well his family loved to travel. 8.) Both have feathers on there hats. Things that people over look with the both of them:
Finally! Time to flex about this. The reason I know of these things is because I found out from my mom, that this was the movie I watched a lot as a lil kid, and re watching it again I noticed more details about Rook and Robin. Which I do want to go into detail with. Now on with the facts 1.) Both Rook and Robin praises those to make things happen. With Rook he praised everyone's talents and even how to work on there weaknesses in chapter 5. Not only that but Rook convinced Vil to let Deuce and Ace into the group, cause if he didn't then Ace and Deuce would have not been in that battle with Vil's OB. As well as Rook helping Epel out with Vil in Epel's Ceremonial Robe SR card. Robin on the other hand has used his words to find out things or to let people drop there guard. In points of the movie you can see this with Robin praising sheriff of Nottingham and the sheriff smiling over his praises from the start of him disguising as a Romani woman (I am not saying the G slur!) to him disguising as a bird to shake the sheriff's hand, and when he was a guard to help him sleep to get the keys to make the jail brake happen. 2.) Speaking of them praising others did you know that Robin hood can go on and on with praises to get what he wants to the point of talking forever unless someone stops him? It could be due to the fact that foxes are very vocal animals. If you don't believe me on that then look it up for yourself. And we know that Rook is very vocal as a person as well. With us finding out in chapter 6 that him and Vil talked for hours in winter to the point that both got sick the next day.
3.) So as you know Robin likes to mess with the king in the movie or just seems to know where he is at in the movie? Did you also know he likes to mess with and know where sheriff of Nottingham as well? A man who is doing what he is told and even a debt collector collecting taxes from the town's folk. Hey guess what. You know who Rook likes to mess with or know where they are at all points? Both Leona and the leech twins. And you know what the leech twins do? They help collect debts for Azul as well as the sheriff of Nottingham having yellow eyes like the twins who have a yellow eye due to there heterochromia didn't escape me. 4.) Did you know that Maid Marian and Snow white have something in common? A well known fact is that in the making of Robin Hood they had to cut corners due to having low funds with making the movie. So in Robin Hood there is a scene where Maid Marian's dance is rotoscoped from the scene of Snow White dancing with Dopey as well as a earlier scene of when Maid Marian clapping mirroring before Snow white starts to dance with her clapping as well. Which means that Rook being a fan of Neige might have a double meaning form this. 5.) Rook and Robin's eyes go smaller when they are shocked. I know others in the game do this as well, but look at them! Same vibe. 6.) Both are sneaky or always plotting. Robin plotting to be with Maiden Mary, giving King John a hard time, and helping out the townsfolk. Rook wanting to be around Vil, helping others out, or wanting to find out others weaknesses, and only using his UM to track people when he can't do it in normal means. Rook is a rare beastmen birth theory:
Now that I am done with those facts I want to talk about the Rook is a beastmen theory. This theory was made thanks to the help of @dgttwisted who really opened my eyes to this what if and me adding to it with my knowledge of basic fox facts. So remembering me pointing out how Rook Hunt is Robin Hood with that recap and other things people over look? Well I think it's not that Rook is Robin Hood, but what if Rook's dad is Robin Hood based? I mean hear me out here. As much as kids don't want to admit it, but we get traits or pick up things form our parents. For me I get a lot of traits of my father. I move my leg to help me sleep, We have this small birth mole like thing on the side of our eye, and we both don't talk a lot and just enjoy vibes. So I was wondering if that same applied to Rook? What if Rook got to be so good at hunting and archery due to his dad? So that begs the question about his mother. Well I was thinking he got her passion? I am not saying Robin Hood wouldn't be passionate. I mean dear god they have six kids together. That's a lot to handle Especially if you know that Maiden Mary wanted a dozen kids, which is 12 kids at least when she was talking to Robin Hood about kids in the movie! Not only that but when Rook mentions that his family travels that means his parents traveled a lot with them. Which was something Robin and Mary wanted to do for there honey moon. So as you can see I am of the camp of this being the case with these facts in mind. Back on topic since they are fox beastmen or maybe one of them is a fox beastmen and the other is human (I have seen some people do fan art of it as of late). One of which I think the mother being a fox beastwoman while the dad is human, cause fun fact Maiden Mary design was reused to make Vixey from the Fox and the hound. But I can't deny that people believe that Robin Hood might have been reused to make Nick from Zootopia. (Sorry I couldn't find if Robin Hood was reused to make Nick, but did find the theory of Robin and Nick might being related.) Back to Rook. I think nearly all there kid's have fox physical characteristics. All but Rook. Think about it. Here is what the wiki says about this traits: Rook has very good eyesight, being able to tell what book Epel was reading from afar, He has a good sense of smell, and yet again he is good at hunting. So what if he has the inherent animal traits then the physical traits? Meaning he has things a fox beastmen has, but no tail or ears? Also know I need to address this as well, but what if that's why he was in Savanaclaw? I know others can go to Savanaclaw. It's not just full of beastmen, and other beastmen are in other dorms, but in early game that was the case until Yana (The creator/writer) pretty much changed it that anyone can join savanaclaw. Which I am thankful for. Which makes me wonder if Ruggie and Leona now that Rook is half beastmen or a 100 percent fox beastman, but kept that to themselves or maybe they don't know? If so if it's reviled that he is a beastmen with a rare birth, then I want it for when Rook just invites some of the cast to meet his family for a event, and his little siblings are running around him with fox ears and tail. And he is like, Rook: "Oh sorry. Guess the cat is out of the bag. But I am a fox beastmen. A rare one at that. If you don't believe me then ask my parents. Also look at my siblings! We are so alike that you can tell we came from the same parents." You have no idea how badly I want this! if me and my friend's theory is true.
UPDATE: 8/10/24 Another thing that is odd about him that could connect to Rook being a beastman is that well is least favorite food. If you go to his character bio you see that garlic is his least favorite food, and if you look up garlic and foxes you find out that foxes hate the smell of garlic, and so not like it what so ever. I found this out today so I thought I should share it before I forget. And that's it for the theory and facts about Rook. Did you like it? Hate it? Or was I just plan wrong about something or forgot another thing about Rook and Robin I over looked? Either way I would like to hear any and all options on this and I hope you are all having a lovely day. Edit: So more bonus stuff. For one of the merch they are selling we are shown stuff for each of the dorm students and will you look at that. Rook's is a GREEN ARROW! If that's not on the nose with him being connected to Robin Hood then I don't know what is, but nope there is one more.
Got this on twitter btw from a post replied to by YuuRei20 by a different person covering up the theory as well. This proves that Rook pretty much has a final smoking gun to being or is connected to Robin Hood in some way.
Done talking about it now until Yana says if he is a beastmen, half one, decented, a rare beastmen birth, is connected to Robin Hood or is just a normal human with Light Magic plot armor. Hope you enjoyed the post so far. Bye bye for now.
#twisted wonderland theory#twst theory#Rook Hunt#Rook Hunt is a beastmen theory#//Sorry for the long post but I had a lot to say. It was all in good fun!

SUPER SCIENCE STORIES (vol. 5) #4 (September, 1949). Cover by Lawrence Stevens.
Popular Publications was one of the largest publishers of pulp magazines. Among its titles were the long-running Argosy, as well as The Spider, G-8 and His Battle Aces, Operator #5, and The Mysterious Wu Fang.
Super Science Stories was Popular Publications entry into the field of science fiction. However, they had no staff and almost no budget. The company hired a 19 year-old Frederick Pohl, science fiction fan and future Hugo Award- and Nebula Award-winner, and science fiction grand master, as its editor.
Pohl tried hard to compete with the other science fiction magazines, but the low page rate he was forced to work with (half a penny per word) didn't attract the established writers. Instead, he bought manuscripts that were rejected by the other mags. He also published stories from fellow science fiction fans, such as Isaac Asimov, as well as filling out issues with stories he wrote himself under various pseudonyms.
The magazine was published from March, 1940 to May, 1943 when paper shortages due to World War ll, and not-so-great sales, led Popular to cease publication of Super Science Stories.
Science fiction became a hot market again in 1948, and Popular revived the magazine in 1949. The pulp magazine format, on the other hand, was dying out. Super Science Stories lasted another three years, from January, 1949 to August, 1951, before shutting down again, this time for good.

The Lord of The Underworld and His Lady of Spring Part 1
In this story for the HPHM x Twisted Wonderland AU, Vil, Rook, Epel, Deuce, Ace, Asteria, Jamil, Kalim and Helena are talking about their recent performance at a competition and their shortcomings due to be tired from dealing with an overblot in the midst of it. However as things start to look for the better, even with Grim’s location unknown to the girls temporarily, they turn south faster than one could imagine.
Asteria belongs to @princess-of-pearls-and-stars while Helena belongs to me. These stories are Inspired by Chapters 8, 9, and 10 of Book 6
One minute, they were talking about their recent concert appearance and shortcomings. The next, Ramshackle shook in a way that Helena and Asteria were both convinced the old and archaic building was going to collapse. It had been abandoned for years after all and was a wreck when they first moved in.
Epel was the first to bring the suspicions everyone was thinking into words, “Was that an earthquake?”
Rook looked out the window in an attentive way just like a hunter, and his eyes widened when he found his target. “No it isn’t, look out the window.”
Kalim rushed over to the window and followed Rook’s eyes towards the sky with his own, “What in the world!? There’s a bunch of guys flying through the air! Are they on hoverboards.”
“Technology like that means it might be related to Ignihyde.” Asteria did her best to remain calm.
“I’ve been to Ignihyde many times to watch animes with Idia.” Helena reminded her sister, “And while I believe they have a handful of these hoverboard things, it’s certainly not that many. And those don’t even look like students.”
“That’s not possible…” Vil breathed, not really paying attention to the girl’s words it seemed not that it mattered all that much. “This school has a magical barrier to keep out intruders. And it is always up as long as we don’t have a special event going on.”
“Maybe that sound was the barrier getting breached!” Jamil theorized.
“But how?” Vil reminded him, “It is complex magic.”
“Some are coming this way!” Rook called out to alert the group, “Let’s see there is one, two-!?” He then did a 180 degree turn and faced the group, “EVERYONE GET DOWN!”
Large sounds followed as figures crashed into the structure of Ramshackle. Soon enough they were all on the floor trying to get cover. Helena barely even noticed Asteria’s protective arm around them.
“Asteria! Helena!” Deuce called out first, rushing over. “Are you both ok?”
“I-“ Helena was about to respond before she was silenced by the sight in front of her. There were at least three guard looking figures in some sort of technologically advanced armor. It was a metallic grey with a couple of its accents being a glowing blue. They appeared to be quite hostile and heartless, nothing like Ortho, well, at least when he wasn’t trying to shoot the school down with a laser beam to save Idia from a crazy ghost bride that is.
Once they regained their footing, Jamil jumped in front of his Housewarden, “Kalim get back!” He firmly instructed as he looked at the guards the same way Helena did. “I’ve never seen that kind of gear before…” He muttered to himself, although Helena could just barely hear his words and assumed others could as well to some extent.
“Hepta team coming in.” One of the mysterious intruders started, seemingly alerting their master of a discovery, “We’ve got visuals on subjects D, E, and G. Moving in for capture.”
“I haven’t the faintest idea who these people are.” Vil began as he tried to examine the guards from a distance, “but crashing through windows shows an appalling lack of manners.” He turned to the rest of the group with a firm expression, “I hereby declare this an emergency! By my authority as Pomefiore Housewarden, I authorize the use of magic on the intruders!”
“Oui!” Rook seconded as the vice housewarden.
“I do the same for Scarabia!” Kalim mustered in his most authoritative voice. “Prepare for battle!”
Vil’s eyes turned to Deuce, Ace, Epel, Asteria, and Helena, “Freshmen, stay back, and do not get involved for your own safety. Heartslabyul students, call your Housewarden!”
“Yes sir!” Deuce, Ace, Epel, and Helena said in unison, however Helena could see out of the corner of her eye that Asteria was frustrated by sitting on the sidelines. But surely she knew that their magic only seemed to work half the time in this world, right?
The same robotic guard spoke again, “Subjects D and E exhibiting hostility, Subject G showing signs of retreating. Requesting permission to engage.”
“Permission granted.” A voice over the robots intercom sounded. “Execute capture plan C”
~~~
“They’re all struggling…” Epel observed as the battle commenced.
“Those oar-looking staffs can churn out spells real quick!” Deuce pointed out with a great amount of perception.
“AUGH!” Vil exclaimed as said oar-looking staff-thing shot another intense concentration of magic.
“VIL!” Rook called out as Vil collapsed on the ground, and by the looks of it, also lost consciousness.
“Subject E is subdued.” The robotic guard sounded. “Securing now.”
“GAHHH!” Jamil screamed out as the same thing that happened to Vil moments ago occurred to him as well.
“JAMIL!” Kalim panicked.
“We have also secured Subject D, all that is left is Subject G.” The robotic guard informed its instructor or head of operations Helena theorized. “Tetra team has already captured Subject F.
Once the last capture is complete we will rendezvous then return to HQ.”
“Where are you taking them!” Kalim frantically requested, “WAIT!”
“Whoa…” Ace breathed, “The housewardens and vice housewardens went down in seconds.”
“And it’s not over yet…” Asteria pointed out, “They were talking about a Subject G, perhaps that’s Kalim or Rook? But why did they stop if that’s the case?”
“didn’t they say that ‘Subject G’ was retreating? If we assume it is someone in here then it has to be one of us.” Deuce determined.
“But who would that be?” Epel pondered.
“Heck if any of us know.” Helena snapped. “We should just stay low.”
“Tetra team has regrouped with Hepta Team.” The intruders sounded again.
“What in Tarnation!” Epel exclaimed again as he looked up, “They are hauling a cage. Wait… ain’t that…”
“LEMME OUT! GET ME OUT OF HERE!”
Helena and Asteria recognized the voice even before they saw who it came from. As they looked simultaneously through the rubble and dense amounts of people. They spotted Grim, being carried in a cage with tight bars as he attempted to escape his prison. How did he end up in such a predicament after the Shrouds helped with retrieving him earlier?
“GRIM!?” Asteria called out frantically.
“Ace! Asteria! Helena! Deuce!” Grim cried out.
“We need to stop them!” Epel got on his feet, “Come on, I ain’t doing this on my own am I?”
“Right!” Deuce agreed, “Hold on Grim! I’ll save you!”
“Dude, Vil just told us to stay back.” Ace tried to remind them, “Helena has a point you know, if we fight we will loose, we should just stay low, and come up with a plan when we can have, no offense, a stronger team?”
“Don’t be such a coward!” Asteria quickly got on her feet pulling out her wand, with Helena reluctantly following suit.
“OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!” Ace pleaded, but presumed he had no choice.
~~~
Asteria noted how the battle was practically over before it started, and somehow ending up as the last to emerge in their line of fighters despite Ace and Helena’s initial reluctance. She couldn’t doubt that it was a disturbing sight to behold.
“Argh.” Ace mumbled mindlessly. “Didn’t stand… a chance… urgh.”
“Urgh guh…” Deuce moaned.
“Dagnabbit.” Epel muttered.
Yet the only voice Asteria didn’t manage to hear, even in a soft tone, was that of her own sister. Her eyes frantically scanned the room and eventually spotted her figure. And panicked when she saw her sister not moving.
“HELENA!” Asteria frantically called out, trying to rush to her but the robotic guards beat her to it, taking her sister.
“Subject G is secured.” The robotic man sounded, “Reporting Back to HQ.”
“Lemme Go!” Grim pleaded, “I don’t want to go! Asteria!!!” He called as his paw reached out to her.
“GRIM! HELENA!” Asteria called out, practically screaming as they were taken away.
“VIL! JAMIL!” Rook and Kalim did the same in nearly identical tones to Asteria.
Rook growled then did a few meditative breaths before turning to Scarabia’s Housewarden, “Kalim, we must tend to our injured freshmen. I will take them to the infirmary.”
“But Jamil…” Kalim stammered, “Jamil’s been…”
“KALIM.” Rook asserted to get his attention. “You must calm yourself. Jamil has been abducted. You need to step up and fulfill your Housewarden duties by yourself.”
Kalim only reluctantly sighed, however it seemed to be more out of concern for Jamil than the idea of added rightful responsibility, “All right, I’ll go summon the other house “wardens.”
Ace grunted again, “…didn’t pick up…”
Asteria rushed to Ace’s side, his mumbling did not sound promising, nor did his grunting. And he seemed to be wincing from pain.
“Huh?” Rook raised an eyebrow.
Ace attempted to speak again, wincing against the pain as Asteria looked at him with widened eyes trying to tend to him and Deuce the best she could, at least Epel seemed to be in a better state, although that wasn’t saying much. “Called…Housewarden Riddle…but he didn’t…pick up…”
“Oh no!” Kalim exclaimed as realization hit his features and he turned to Rook, “Do you think?”
“There is a likely chance.” Rook determined, “We don’t have much time, we must warn whoever we can.”

Como Ch F: Gabriel Debru def. Ignacio Buse 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 Match Stats
📸 ATP official website
I. Buse raised his level in the second set and almost broke back in the eighth game of the third set, but G. Debru's rediscovering of his aggression paid off as he ended the said game with a massive hold, neutralizing the former's baseline game before finally hitting even cleaner at the end. With some intuitive battles going on in this match as well, G. Debru nailed it perfectly as he volleyed his way to winning the match, which also contributed in the optimization of his chances as he converted 5 out of 8 break points, despite having 3 less chances to break than I. Buse's 11.
Besides, even though it looked like a tiny difference between them, G. Debru's service game appeared more stable throughout the match. Scoring 2 aces, he won 4% more first serve points than I. Buse, which helped him nailing more pressure points on his serve. Somehow, even though both players did not double fault at all, I. Buse's second serves appeared more vulnerable as he could only win 40% of his second serve points, 6% lesser than G. Debru's 46%.
This marked G. Debru's second Challenger title of this year (and his career), propelling his rank to 272 by the end of the tournament. On the other hand, this might not be I. Buse's sole Challenger-level final as many more will come as long as he can maintain this level of progress. To make it even more interesting, I. Buse's first-round match in Genoa Challenger will have wild card Jacopo Berrettini at the other side of the net, where their groundstrokes' consistency will be put into another test. The future is even brighter with them.

Final Fantasy Record Keeper Typhon Magicite Fight
The fights in the 5-star Magicite Dungeons in the Final Fantasy Record Keeper (FFRK) mobile game are quest level 400.
Typhon is the 5-star Wind Magicite boss who’s weak to the ice element and who takes reduced damage from physical attacks.
I talk more about this in this post, but since I was able to beat the 5-star Lightning Magicite, Quetzalcoatl, who is weak to the earth element and takes reduced damage against magic and ninjutsu attacks, with my physical fire elemental team, I thought I’d bring the same team to take on Typhon.
Couldn’t get the win though because this team requires a bit of time to set everything up before I could really start dealing damage.
The fight against Typhon requires you to go fast. It’s necessary to deal a certain amount of damage and bring down Typhon’s HP to get him from Phase 1 to Phase 2 of the battle as soon as possible.
If you’re too slow, then he’ll use this move called Snort which will remove your entire party out of the battle, automatically ending the fight.
So I decided to bring an ice team instead. I don’t have a lot of ice-type Soul Breaks that deal magical damage though so I had no choice but to bring a physical ice team to this fight.
This made things harder, and there were a number of tries wherein I still got hit with the Snort move. Had to spend a few resources before I could finally get the win.
My Magicite deck and passives for this fight was:
Mateus (XII) - Dampen Air Level 10 and Health Boon Level 5
Manticore (V) - 2 Empower Ice Level 15
Madeen (IX) - Healing Boon Level 15 and Health Boon Level 5
Madeen (IX) - 2 Attack Boon Level 16
Phoenix (VI) - Spell Ward Level 5 and Blade Ward Level 8
My team was:
Elarra from Final Fantasy Record Keeper
partial Record Board - got the tiles that increase her HP, mind, defense and resistance stats
100 Magia in mind and HP stats, 45 Magia in defense and resistance stats
Ultra Soul Break 1 (USB1), Magika Album
USB2, Magika Orare
Glint+ Soul Break (G+), Magika Amuletum
Glint Soul Break (G), Magika Pius
equipped with Warrior’s Hymn and Passionate Salsa
Ace Striker Record Materia - Soul Break gauge fills much more when using attack or abilities
Laguna Loire from Final Fantasy VIII
partial Record Board - just didn’t get the Camaraderie tile
100 Magia in attack stat and 29 in ice attack stat
Awakened Arcane Soul Break 1 (AASB1), Tactical Attack
created the Icy Offering Machinist ability for him. This one has the chance to imperil the ice element
Machinist’s Touch Record Materia - small chance to dualcast machinist abilities
Tyro from Final Fantasy Record Keeper
partial Record Board - got the HP ones and the ones that increased his speed and reduced the delay of his actions
he has 100 Magia in the HP stat, 48 Magia in the Resistance stat, and 48 Magia in the Defense stat
AASB, Fantasy Grimoire Vol. I
Arcane Overstrike Soul Break 3 (AOSB3), Triple Phase
USB4, Arbiter’s Tome
USB3, Divine Veil Grimoire
USB1, Warder’s Apocrypha
G, Purifying Grimoire
Burst Soul Break (BSB), Keeper’s Tome
Unique Soul Break 2, Sentinel’s Grimoire
Legend Materia Relic 1 (LMR1), Archival Secrets
equipped with Wrath and Entrust
Dr. Mog’s Teachings Record Materia - begin dungeons with 2 Soul Break charges
Tyro from Final Fantasy Record Keeper was here to Wrath and Entrust and support the party with his AASB and USB4. The aforementioned Soul Breaks can increase the party’s critical hit chance.
These relics combo very well with Elarra’s (from Final Fantasy Record Keeper) Magika Orare which increases the party’s critical hit damage.
Had Tyro equipped with Dr. Mog’s Teachings so he could Entrust the gauges to my main DPS and have said DPS start attacking right away in order to avoid the Phase 1 Snort move.
Squall Leonhart from Final Fantasy VIII
complete Record Board - initially, I didn’t complete it because I was trying to save resources, but since I kept losing to Typhon, I decided to just go ahead and finish the entirety of his Board already
100 Magia in attack and ice attack stats and 3 Magia in HP stat
Synchro Arcane Soul Break 1 (SASB1), Cross Your Heart
AASB1, Fatal Frost
AASB2, End of Flame
USB4, Double Junction
G+2, Fated Force
BSB1, Lion’s Roar
Scholar’s Boon Record Materia - deal much more damage when attacking with an enemy’s elemental weakness
Initially, had Squall Leonhart from Final Fantasy VIII (#ad) equipped with Snowspell Strike but it wasn’t dealing as much damage as I wanted it to so, after I ended up completing his Record Board, I decided to get his Hero Ability, Renzokuken, as well. Got it to its max rank of 5, increasing its uses to 10.
Celes Chere from Final Fantasy VI
partial Record Board - didn’t get the Camaraderie tile. At first, I didn’t get most of her tiles either, but since I was having trouble with Typhon, I started unlocking more and more of her tiles until I basically ended up unlocking most of them
100 Magia in attack stat
SASB1, Mystical Snow
Chain Soul Break (CSB), More the Merrier
AOSB, Glorious Blade
equipped with Snowspell Strike since Squall now has his Hero Ability
Mako Might Record Materia - same effect as Dr. Mog’s Teachings
Gave Mako Might to Celes Chere from Final Fantasy VI so she can cast her physical ice Chain Soul Break right away.
Had to switch the positions of my team a few times because after getting past Phase 1, Typhon will start using Snort again a bit later on during the course of the rest of the battle.
He’ll start by Snorting the char in slot 3. I ended up putting Tyro there since he didn’t really have much to do anymore after he Entrusts to Squall then to Elarra.
Would have wanted to have been able to use Tyro’s USB4 and Awakening and even Elarra’s Magika Orare but just didn’t have the time to do so. This fight was really super fast-paced.
Celes was here to cast her ice Chain. Only cast her SASB when I had the gauges to spare. Was pretty disappointed with her damage though.
Even with most of her Board completed, she still hit like a wet noodle. I don’t think she ever managed to break the damage cap even under the effects of her Sync.
But maybe that’s just because she’s stuck using Snowspell Strike and Typhon resists physical damage.
Elarra sang the Warrior’s Hymn to buff Squall’s attack. Used her USB1 when she had enough gauges to cast it.
A few times, had her dance the Passionate Salsa to debuff the enemy. Borrowed the Fabula Raider Roaming Warrior to buff Squall’s attack some more.
Speaking of Squall, he was my main DPS for this fight. As soon as Tyro gave him the bars, had him cast his Sync then spammed his Sync Command 1 linked to his Hero Ability. He was able to deal a lot of damage once I got everything set up.
Laguna was here to imperil ice so Squall can deal even more damage. Cast his AASB when he had the bars to do so since it also imperils ice. He didn’t deal that much damage though.
After a few more tries, finally managed to get the win. Even got sub-30 with the fight ending at 21.66 seconds. Only Tyro got Snorted.
Conclusion
So what about you? Have you tried any of the 5-star Magicite fights yet? What do you think about these quests? Feel free to share your thoughts and opinions by leaving a comment below or by reblogging or replying to this post.

G-8 was the lead character in the pulp magazine G-8 and His Battle Aces, which ran from 1933-1944. He was an American ace pilot during World War One, and was also an Allied spy. His two wingmen were Nippy Watson (a short daredevil) and Bull Martin (large and muscular but superstitious.) They often went on missions behind enemy lines to discover what the Germans were up to this month.
And since this was a "bloody pulp", what the Germans were up to was usually pretty freaky. In the first story, their scientists have discovered a species of giant bat with poisonous breath, and are attempting to train them for combat against Allied pilots. Other plots involved wolf-men, rockets, mummies, zombies, and mind control surgery. Baddies included Herr Stahlmaske, who always wears a metal mask ala Doctor Doom, Chu Lung who used Oriental secrets to help the Germans, and Herr Grun, a voodoo priest.
In these stories, the German military and their helpers were horrible people who loved committing atrocities. Kind of like the Nazis without an actual ideology. (A lot of the war pulps tended to use this characterization, following French and British propaganda. A certain amount of disbelief in how bad the Nazis were was caused by people finding out how much of the reported German atrocities of World War One weren't "real" but made up.)
I dunno if any of the Battletech factions would be able to comfortably accommodate being that much of baddies. Or indeed, what level of science they have outside of giant robots.
Random Pulp Hero/BattleTech Thought: BT-ifying G-8
@skjam If you don't mind, I think it makes most sense to continue this convo on it's own? If anyone else has thoughts on the subject of BT-ifying G-8
So, for those of you who didn't know what I am talking about, having recently been liberated from an inexplicable shadowban, Skjam responded to my most recent poll about Battletech and Pulp Heroes thusly:
My vote (swallowed by the shadowban) was for G-8.
(referencing a previous post of mine on the subject, I believe)
To which I responded...
I, uh, don’t have anything for that, unfortunately. I’ve only ever read his first story and sadly he hasn’t got as much in via osmosis. That said, if you have suggestions for BT-ifying G-8, I am all ears!
And then Skjam responded...
Sadly, I have long since lost touch with Battletech lore. But I think he would have a small, fast mech with (for the time period) cutting edge technology, mostly meant for covert operations but punching above its weight. And his schtick would be running into weird science/mysticism attempts by the enemy forces to gain an overwhelming advantage, like downloading their best pilot’s brain into multiple clone bodies that all look like demons, or some such.
And here we are.
So, I'm not sure that...specific concept is doable in BT, but there is plenty of room for weird science, so I think this is a logical start.
Any BT fans have any ideas?
We probably should elaborate on what G-8's deal is for those who don't know enough about him.
(in which category I must embarrassingly include myself)
