So I just looked at the fucking plot of Dracula the Un-dead, and can I say that I screamed in unadulterated agony at the mention that fucking JONATHAN "I WILL KILL GOD FOR MY WIFE" HARKER is drowning himself in sorrows and prostitutes because Mina has a remaining taint of Dracula which has caused her to retain her youth. I can excuse Jack Seward being a morphine addict, and I can begrudgingly accept Arthur being in a loveless marriage, I cannot accept Jonathan Harker being any less than absolutely smitten with his wife when in the Book my dude was fully prepared to JOIN Mina in being undead and effectively turn his back against god. That I cannot accept.
This book was written because apparently the Strokers wanted control over Dracula again. What they did instead was piss on Bram's grave and try to make it seem like the original story was all wrong. What the bloody fuck.

This seems to be making the rounds again! I love this boy!
Also if you’ve seen this and you love podcasts consider checking out @theholmwoodfoundation as my girlfriend and I are currently working on a modern Dracula sequel, to be crowdfunded in October.
Gothic Analogue Horror; with a teaspoon of action/adventure as two antagonistic co workers have to deal with monsters whilst travelling the country with Draculas severed head.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's our dear friend Jonathan Harker! I love how they've cast/portrayed him in @re-dracula. I love him. We protect.
Image Description: This is an image of a head bust of Jonathan Harker. A white man, dark hair wearing a red sweater vest and tie looking utterly bewildered. Next to the head is a wobbly speech bubble with the quote "Do you wish me to stay so long?"

I feel like Star Wars missed the opportunity to make Darth Maul and Count Dooku beef. Like all there’s this conversation about Maul and Kenobi’s relationship but imagine being Count Dooku and you gotta live with the fact that the mf who killed your Padawan (one of the events that ended up making you align yourself with the Sith) is alive and living his best life. I would be so pissed. Sidious had to tell Count Dooku not to fuck with Maul bc I refuse that Dooku had no want to slide for Qui Gon Jinn

Am I just a delusional shipper or does this feel like it should have been a thing?
Spoilers for Gargoyles (1972) ahead.
Tumblr media
"Go on, your voice pleases me."
"'The sin was not my own, but forced upon me by the incubus; who overnight did slip into my bedchamber and taunt and seduce me with demon's promises until I was as if on fire. He was of uncommon height and finely built. A devil's face of frightful beauty that did put me in a spell. I had no will of my own, but did let the incubus do his will until I was driven mad.'"
Those are actual lines out of the movie. I didn't paraphrase. At all. I played the scene where she was reading out of the book, and typed every word she said. This is a movie about demons who "sometimes take human women" who are trying to conquer the world. Also, in this movie, the gargoyles with wings are the breeders. This one says as much. He was basically the leader. His reaction to being told that he's lost is literally, "Not as long as there are two winged breeders."
Tumblr media
Also, the way the gargoyle acts when he first sees Diana just SCREAMS "shipping fuel". If this were written in the modern day, they would have done it. You can't convince me otherwise. You know why I say that?
BECAUSE THE 90s DID IT!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't care that these two stories have nothing to do with one another. This is a really good comparison. And, even if it wasn't, I have plenty of fuel for this fire. (I don't even need my usual go-to of vampire movies to prove this point.)
Diana and The Gargoyle fit into two categories that I love and frequently ship. Hero/Villain (though I guess this is more damsel/villain) and Human/Monster. I'm going to give examples from both categories that I will die shipping. (They overlap quite a bit, actually.)
Jareth the Goblin King x Sarah Williams
Tumblr media
Katara x Prince Zuko
Tumblr media
Rey x Kylo Ren/Ben Solo
Tumblr media
Vlad Dracula x Mina Murray/Mina Harker
Tumblr media
Erik x Christine Daaé
Tumblr media
Batman/Bruce Wayne x Catwoman/Selina Kyle
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Elisa Esposito x The Amphibian Man
Tumblr media
Catherine Chandler x Vincent

So, with all that context in mind,
DOES THIS REALLY LOOK LIKE THAT MUCH OF A STRETCH?!?!

End of the first Dracula Daily: Dracula is DEAD FOR SURE why do people keep making sequels where he comes back after everyone sacrificed so much to defeat him and all their research was how to get him to stay dead, ugh so obnoxious—
Every Dracula Daily since then: Teehee time loop, Dracula can never be defeated, everyone is doomed to be traumatized forever, the suffering means nothing bc there’s no light at the end of the tunnel :))

There’s something funny about the fact that Griffin spends all his time laughing maniacally and going on tirades about how he has become an unstoppable god, yet he is the only one of the “main” Universal monsters to just be fully dead at the end of the movie.

Missed our trailer release? Don’t worry! You can now also see our video version below!
(Transcript uploaded to Subtitles)
CW: Sirens, Loud Static
youtube
The Holmwood Foundation is a Found Footage Horror-Fiction Podcast created by Fio Trethewey @fiotrethewey (Big Finish: Gallifrey War Room, 18th Wall Productions) and Georgia Cook @georgiacooked (Big Finish: The Eleventh Doctor Chronicles, Gallifrey War Room, BBC Books, The Dracula Daily Sketch Collection). It is a modern day sequel to the gothic novel Dracula.  We are currently working on building interest while we record and create the pilot episode ahead of crowd funding in October.
Our story follows Jeremy Larkin (Played by Sean Carlsen) and Maddie Townsend (Played by Rebecca Root), two co-workers at the mysterious Holmwood Foundation, as they are possessed by the ghosts of Jonathan and Mina Harker, and embark on a road trip across the country in an effort to achieve their ghost's wishes: to stop Dracula once and for all. This is a story about identity and self discovery, family loyalty and devotion, all wrapped around a nightmare of a road trip with a rejuvenating severed head, incredibly sincere Victorian ghosts, and an analogue recorder.
(Content Warnings for Season: blood, horror themes and possession)
Trailer effects added by Chris Thompson.

Dracula: Prince of Darkness (1966) 🦇
Director: Terence Fisher (Hammer Films) Genres: Horror, Creature Feature 🧛 Notes: Vampire, Dracula, Sequel, Castle, Blood FX, Practical FX very well done, Christopher Lee, Classics
Review: I've watched the first of Christopher Lee's Dracula (1958) a while ago (Definitely watch that one first) but this is fairly good as sequels go! The main cast of characters is interesting and how they come to meet Dracula is a fun take on his return. I did feel like Dracula compared to the first film was a tad wimpy and a little sad and the film had a rather abrupt strange ending but still enjoyable. Overall I give Dracula: Prince of Darkness (1966): Worth the Watch 🩸
