#Crazy theory time

I was rereading some of my posts from 2021 and was reminded of how much meta I used to write so imma share my crazy headcanon/ theory which i thought up as plot for a revolution fic:

RR verse is on the "Olympus will fall" timeline and Zeus' actions are speeding it up.

In the recent decade there has been several great prophecies back to back. And people have remarked how weird it is that there have been so many. What if the reason is because of Zeus?

Remember, in greek mythology there is a major theme of how Your Fate Cannot Be Defied. And Zeus, king of Olympus, has a major Fate: being overthrown. However he managed to "defy" it by eating Metis.

My idea is that he has been forcefully clawing out a future where he is still king of Olympus. By doing this, he is literally changing the flow of fate. And obviously fate wants to correct itself, so the harder he fights it, the more counterforce he triggers. All prophecies meant to lead to his overthrowing are suddenly sped up. Olympus begins to lose power. Zeus is aware of this. He is also aware how people are becoming suspicious. And he needs a scapegoat. And who better than the god of prophecy who is also a threat to the throne?

Apollo mentions that Zeus blamed him for his oracle revealing a prophecy "too early" and therefore causing it to happen early. However, everyone knows it's not possible to actually cause a prophecy to happen early...so why would Zeus even have this weird line of thought? everyone probably dismissed it as Zeus being irrational, but there a juicier theory this ties into:

Apollo being the one to overthrow Zeus.

The idea of "fall of the sun, the final verse". What if this is the final prophecy that is meant to happen before Zeus is overthrown? And what if the fall this speaks of is actually when Apollo fell close to chaos? When he pulled himself together there?

What if he reformed different from his original godly form. He was literally almost gone, his body was disintegrating. Maybe he pulled himself together using the energies of chaos. Apollo himself isn't aware of this, due to a suspicious memory gap between him clawing up from the cliff and him waking up next to Artemis.

And this adds to another headcanon of mine, the fates choose Apollo to be the god of prophecy on purpose. At first glance, this is a horrible match. If they wanted a good servant, why would they choose someone so closely tied to his heart and so likely to fight fate? Someone who dares get them drunk just to extend a human's lifespan? UNLESS... they WANT him to eventually try and defy fate??

Imagine if fate was a compass and Zeus had forcefully wrenched the needle point at a bleak dark future where Olympus falls with him. And this river direction has been set so deeply in stone and run on for so long, it has worn a grove and become the mostly likely future.

you need someone willing to fight, someone to wrench the needle out. SOMEONE FAMILAR WITH FATE AND Prophecy. Someone who has the power to fight it and win. Someone who has the will. Perhaps a baby god who was willing to fight Python, and who would have likely died there. But if he successfully did take on the powers of prophecy, one day that same godling would fight Python again, would absorb the powers of chaos to recreate himself.

Perhaps not today and maybe not even for the next four thousand years

but one day that godling would stare down at that wretched compass hand and decide to yank the flow out of its place. And maybe, that godling means a chance for Olympus to have a different future.

Anyways that's my crazy theory i hope it wasn't too confusing. It also links up with my other story theme idea about fate, hope and apollo blah blah blah, which i rambled about in a different post.

Edit: just remembered my other crazy thought, what if ZEUS PURPOSEFULLY TRIED TO GET RID OF APOLLO NOT ONLY CAUSE HE IS A THREAT TO THE THRONE BUT ALSO BECAUSE AS THE GOD OF PROPHECY HE IS MOST LIKELY TO REALIZE SOMETHING IS WRONG AND THAT ZEUS IS MESSING WITH FATE?!???? Basically pulling a imma say you're the murderer before u realise im the murderer. (i cant remember the actual saying Lmaoo)

actually the subject of megumi's soul possibly being saved by higuruma's blade (from what is essentially a demon) is pretty blatantly inspired by christianity. looking at the imagery alone, it's like an attempted exorcism

sukuna as a stand in for Satan?

here is where i get to ramble about things i just think would be cool:

idk if this is even possible but gojo coming back as a vengeful spirit resembling an angel would be kind of fascinating considering this

and kenjaku as a stand in for lilith (who is known as the mother of all demons) would be crazy (gege would be mixing abrahamic religions here but she's often included in works of fiction with christian symbolism anyways)

i just feel like it would be the perfect way for gege to start taking the eva ending route if he wants to. he's already made too many references to evangelion to count. he would be the type to have an apocalyptic ending. and it's starting to feel like things are so far gone, that he really might take this route.

anyways the really unpredictable player here is kenjaku bc who knows what they've set in motion. i keep thinking about how they told sukuna "keep your promise" before fighting gojo.. so who knows

You make it a habit to just kind of touch sukunas body absentmindedly while you think about everyday things in bed, or on the couch while hes next to you, tracing his tattoos or just smoothing your hand up and down his back-- its lead you spiralling down into a trap as he now becomes the sassiest man ever if you stop touching him.

Just thinking about how he would be sprawled out stomach first on the bed, face turned the other way, seemingly asleep- but the twist is that the moment your hand stops moving, he quickly turns back at you 0.001 seconds after with the 😐 face and asks "why'd you stop."

He'd never verbally request you to rub his back or stomach, or to play with his hair, because he has his sense of pride (stubborn old man.) but if hes lying on your lap or next to you in bed a little too close or when he gives you a certain look, its kind of an invitation for you to start doing your thing 😇 hes so adorable

Its surprising how obsessed he becomes with physical touch when sukuna is attached...

He gets more and more awfully spoiled because you enable him! Soon he will have you brushing your fingers through his hair for hours on end or have you massaging his hands and fingers for no good reason at all. Real princess treatment 👍 (he is always touch starved)

I find it funny that Wild, who has basically a couple years ish of full life experience, comes up with the most insane theories for everything

He assumed that the only other explanation to Four being able to split in Four was. That he was quadruplets who'd been hiding this whole time???

Also apparently he believed that his wolf companion Twilight in botw was a diety (and felt very uhh shocked upon finding out that he was not)

Malon made things worse, telling him about her aliens theory

What's even FUNNIER is that every time Wild expresses any sort of confusion at magic stuff that he's never seen before, everyone else in the chain acts like it's crazy for him to be weirded out by it

Honestly maybe Wild's the only one with his head on straight, rather than everyone else who are just like 'it's magic bro' like no he's right this is weird

I appreciate this because it's very considerate of the fact that he woke up with no memories not too long ago, so he doesn't have much experience to explain the stuff that's 'normal' for the chain. Plus the explanations he comes up with are funny.

theory 8x17

earthquake/fake tsunami warning : doctor odyssey and 9-1-1 jointed timeline without crossover.

9-1-1 and Doctor Odyssey both share a universe. As we got confirmed by Angela Bassett's crossover in DO. Not only that but they're both based in LA, which means that if DO is 'getting an earthquake, which triggers a tsunami warning', 9-1-1 should also be getting it. For them to make this plausible both episodes need to air one after the other, the same day. 8x17, and 1x17 air the same week; May 9th.

9-1-1 airs first, but we know already that 8x16 is going to be all about them dealing with Bobby's 'death'. Let's assume that Bobby does come back at the end of the episode after being buried alive. That means that the beginning of 8x17 is going to be about getting Bobby out. I'm guessing that since the leaked script depicted Maddie not recognizing Bobby's voice and him eventually losing signal, the 118 is going to be on the lookout for a while, in the cemetery, without any prior information about who that man might be. The finding that it's Bobby will be a surprise that is going to keep them entertained for the entirety of the episode.

8x17 is called 'Don't Drink The Water', and while is used as a phrase to warn travelers of contaminated waters, we know that while earthquakes are happening it is best to not consume water directly from the source as not only infrastructures are tempered with but also sediments in sweet water bodies, which can eventually mess-up groundwater.

My initial thought regarding the title is that it's inherited and related to the nature of the emergency. The time spam between finding Bobby and the emergency isn't going to be long, in fact I would bet on it happening whilist they get the bell from dispatch. I think this because when Doctor Odyssey airs, they are most likely doing an 'X hours earlier' type of approach instead of continuing the emergency where 9-1-1 left off, as It would feel weird to have another two-parter.

To back the earthquake/ fake tsunami alarm, I will say that Tim has stated in a recent interview that we would have a big emergency as a 'mass casualty' and there's nothing like a natural disaster to cause those.

From what we know so far, in Doctor Odyssey: “After Max’s declaration fractures his relationship with Avery, he leaves the ship and finds himself caught in an earthquake, which triggers a tsunami warning. With The Odyssey forced to leave port, Max races to return before it’s too late.” —The thing is, they never state that it is a tsunami outright, they only say that it triggers a warning. What is happening for sure is the earthquake. For an earthquake to trigger a tsunami, it needs to be between 6-7 magnitude, taking us back to that season 2 earthquake. Season 8 has been all about fake-outs and regression; we've had a lot of callbacks to earlier seasons on storylines that weren't concluded and overall plots that haunted the narrative. So it wouldn't be too far-fetched to think that they're using earthquake-tsunami, both emergencies that we already experienced during season 2 and season 3.

And what did the earthquake and tsunami have in common? They're both heavily Buddie episodes, with Buck and Eddie showing how established their teamwork and friendship already is after they promised to have each other's back an episode ago; An episode ending up with Buck driving Eddie to get Christopher. And the other having Buck save Christopher, who was given to Buck to take care of to distract him from his crushed leg. The tsunami arch concludes with Eddie ensuring Buck that he entrust him Christopher more than anyone else.

I don't want to get into the potential of 'canonifying' buddie of it all, but I do want to get into this emergency being a trigger to get Christopher back to LA during 8x17-8x18 instead of 8x16, and the story focusing on Buck being integrated into the Diaz family dynamic again after as long as Chris left for Texas.

Into the Bobby/Eddie of it all, I think that while in 3x02 it was on Buck to feel impending doom over his place as a firefighter, this worry is going to be shifted into Bobby after his miraculous forthcoming, and Eddie in front of his doubt about whether to stay or to go. And possibly, this is going to be his (Bobby's) last rodeo before he decides that he can't deal with it anymore and he wants/needs to retire, and for Eddie to decide that he needs to stay and get Christopher back in LA at the end of the episode/ or beginning of 8x18.

[the second the director and writter credits for 8x17 drop I'll let yall know if I still stand by this —by the way, I do think Bobby dying is a big mislead to hide something else entirely.

The season finale is called Sesmic Shift I would say the possibilities of getting this are pretty plausible.]

Favorite Buddie Moments Per Episode: 8x11 Holy Mother of God

I have this pestering theory of mine that og Cale Henituse is a double regressor. My main point of evidence being that his behavior suddenly changed on the flip of a dime when he was eight years old and started acting extremely mature. That could be the trauma, that could be him being extremely mature and intelligent already, sure, but how could he not get caught by Ron in the act? A real eight year old should be caught by the trained assassin right?

What do I mean by double regressor. I'm saying that og Cale Henituse grew up getting close to Basen, Violan, and Lily, and experienced a tragedy typical of regression stories like Basen dying or being assassinated bc his relatives, and then waking up on the day of Violan and Deruth's marriage. Deciding that, to save them, he'll ruin himself.

But then he makes it to 18 again, and a war breaks out. And then his family dies, and he can't save them like he did before.

And then... Death approaches him. He says, regress again, and you can save them.

So he does.

BUT ALSO

Totally different theory that could also exist in the same universe, even though it totally doesn't make sense, I think og!Cale could've had a regression ability that lets him go back in time (by a small amount) either when he wanted or when he dies. Cale was nobody special, remember? But he survived 20 years in that hellish war with the white star. How was that possible? He faced the white star himself, and survived. ????? Unless I'm misremembering that and he died at the age of 40 in that encounter. But wouldn't it make sense that there's a reason behind why Cale Henituse specifically was chosen to regress? Maybe because he had an ability already that would make it easier? So all the God of Death would have to do is increase the scale of his power, letting him regress incredibly far back.

I know it doesn't make sense and there's a hundred reasons why it couldn't work but look, it's just an inkling feeling I have based on a few things that have been described in the story. Like the chill Cale gets on the back of his head, I can't describe it. Just consider it my headcanon or a wild theory of mine.

Theory Time™: "WHO IS THE KNIGHT!! WHO IS IT!!!!"

...so we all agree its dess right? Pretty much everything about the knight, the antlers, the bat, the flavor text, points to it being december (say for the it's suspiciously papyrus shaped figure) and people have layed out the evidence time and time again.

So thats it right? Theory Time™ over? It would be, but I can't shake the feeling that's not the whole story, and every time I look back at the new information we got in chapters 3&4 I feel even more strongly that we're missing a big piece of the knight's identity

SO!!! Here's my best shot explaining why I think the Roaring Knight isnt December holiday, why it also isnt not December holiday(?), but instead why the Roaring Knight I think might maybe probably be a secret, far more concerning third thing!

First order of business,

How does the knight take Undyne to the shelter?

I absolutely understand how the knight overpowers undyne in the dark world, she's only been in the dark world for a grand total of like 15 seconds, but how does the knight take her out of the dark world and drag her all the way through town into the shelter?

We know that Undyne, even if not formally trained in deltarune, is still crazy strong in the light world, she was literally bench pressing a car in chapter 2

so if the knight is December, I have a hard time believing she could still physically drag Undyne into the shelter dark world all the way across town faster than kris and susie can run once they're in the light world and the knight no longer has access to all its darkness magic or dark world levels or whatever

Maybe because its nighttime the knight is able to retain some of its power and thats how december could do it? Seam does have the line "You dont want to get caught when the sun goes down..." but kris and susie dont retain anything from their dark world personas so I dont think thats the case

Either way, onto the second order of business

December is missing right?

Noelle is desperately searching online for any trace of her, we're prompted to "find her" in the spamton sweepstakes secret pages, her theme (presumably) is titled Lost Girl, and Asgore has a conspiricy corkboard in his basement which reads to me as his attempt to track her down since theres a lot implying he's connected to her dissapearence

...but the knight is right here, hopping around town making dark worlds

what makes this incongruous to me is that Carol and Kris are both directly working with the knight, kris directly assisting the knight by making the TV World fountain and holding back when confronting them, and Carol talking with kris on the phone about the plan to "Police... sacrifice... next week..." which is presumably why the knight took Undyne to the shelter in the first place

So if Carol and Kris are both working with the knight, and the knight is December, wouldn't they tell someone that they found her? Would they at least tell Rudy or Noelle??

Carol also has a corkboard in her room that we see during the vent section where we see asgore monolouge, what would she have that for if its not implying shes also searching for dess?

My best guess is something horrible happened to her and they dont want to tell anyone, but i'll get back to that idea later once i'm done laying out all my evidence. Even if thats the case though, why all the fuss about finding her when she's got 100% more screen time than Papyrus and she appears in encounters you literally cannot miss no matter how you play the game?

In any case, on to exhibit no.3

↑ how does the knight do that???

looking at the way the knight moves and acts during the few enounters we have with them, they dont seem to act like a physical person like the lightners do, which December probably should if this is her

it shape shifts into that little marble thingy for one, which is something we dont see any of the other lightners come close to doing

Instead, the knight seems to act a lot like some specific darkners and darkner adjacent things!

Firstly, it floats and flies around everywhere, which is something we only see Ralsei do, specifically only in scenes involving the knight

Ralsei also poofs out of existance and becomes "a pile of fluff" when he goes down in battle, which is the closest thing to the kind of shape shifting the knight does where it becomes something much smaller than its original form

The Knight, however, does something much more interesting when taking significant damage

When hit with susie's rude buster or kris's solo attacks, and at the end of the fight after surviving the full screen attack, the knight glitches with this audio-wave-looking static effect, which is incredibly reminiscent of the Titan and Titan Spawn, who have a similar effect when taking damage albeit horizontally instead of vertically

The Knight also share's its visual appearence with the Titan and it's spawn, being pitch black with white lineart and "faces"

What exactly this suggests the knight is i'll get back to later, but all this makes me really think the knight is not actually a lightner like Dess would (presumably) be

Finally, for my last bit of evidence for why I dont think the knight is dess before I get to what I do think the knight is,

UNUSED !

I dont actually consider this "evidence" since we dont actually have any real indication of who the character speaking here is, but the best candidate that we can conceptualize is Dess, so if anything I just wanted to mention it since its another thing giving me pause on the idea that the Knight is truely December since it gives us another amazing candidate for Dess's whereabouts, even if its like the shakiest foundation to base a theory off of possible

Alright, we're halfway through the theory! This is the second one of these long analysis posts i've made (my last one was about GALLERY) so I hope its making some sense!!

To summarize, I dont think the Roaring Knight is actually literally December Holiday because it behaves really strangely in both the light world and dark world in ways that a lightner like Dess probably shouldnt. The next bit of the theory is going to be about what I actually think the Roaring Knight might be, which is the bit of the theory that'll be much more of speculation since that question is much broader than "is the knight actually dess"

Before we get into that though, take a break if you need to! Remember to get some water, stretch a bit, whatever you need to be comfortable!!

Alrighty!! So, if the Roaring Knight isn't December Holiday, who is? Why does literally everything about them scream December Holiday??

As established I dont think Dess is literally the knight, but I do think that the knight is in some way based off of her or created in her image! But why? how? in what way? by who?

One line that really stuck out to me when I was thinking about this is this dialogue from chapter 3's egg room,

This alone isnt much to go off of aside from the connection that the knight is entirely monochrome, but in chapter 4's egg room we get this text from checking the bookcase

The only other things that are described as "like glass" are shadow crystals, and we see first hand by winning beating the knight in chapter 3 and chipping it's sword that the knight is made of them. Additionally, the first thing the knight does when we confront it is sparkle and then turn around crying, which feels like an overt connection to that book in the egg room

To give it a shot in the dark, I think that the thing that grew from the bitter water was the knight, and by extension the "fallen star" was Dess, who fell into wherever the dark place from the unused code is and accidentally created the knight. The knight looks like dess, it moves like dess, it has things dess would have, and to take it a step further it might even effectively be Dess's OC (in the same way the god of hyperdeath was asriel's) considering the monochrome handmade posters for fake bands in her room, one of which is sporting a sword extremely prominently

I think the way Dess accidentally created the knight has to do with the character in the unused code, who i'm assuming is Dess, talking about how they're unsure if they're awake or dreaming. I think Dess, lost in the fiction of some darker than dark world, lost conception of what is or is not reality and dreamt the knight into existance without even realizing she was dreaming, thereby creating fiction that truly believes itself to be real (or something of the like). This could explain why the knight and the shadow crystals are so powerful, and also why the crystals stay the same in the light world and the dark world, because the knight is something like a lightner (fiction that believes itself to be real) made from the esoteric essence of fiction, darkness.

The knight mimics December, using her bat, having her horns, doing figure skating movements, even crying like she presumably was at the moment she created the knight because the knight was born from her subconcious. Maybe, in losing whether or not she was dreaming or awake, Dess also lost a full grip on her identity and imagined herself a new one without realizing it, resulting in the knight?

This also reminds me of this one piece of flavor text from the fight with the titan spawn that im so curious about,

what if having these things, which are already similar to the knight, even having another line of flavor text that says "it sputtered in a voice like crushed glass" bring up the question of where your identity comes from is maybe an allusion the knight being an imagined concept of the self which is just as real as the lightners by implying all concepts of the self are essentially fiction?

I dont know, im trying my best here :<

The important thing though, reguardless of what exactly the knight is, is that the knight is some sort of fictional copy of December Holiday made of shadow crystals

This is why I think the knight can kidnap Undyne in the light world, since shadow crystals are still the same there the knight is probably still some kinda amalgamated shadow crystal beast or something in the light world, or maybe its still the knight

I think its also aluded to in chapter two when you visit the police station and talk to the dogs, who mention some kind of horrifying merciless something in the woods by the holiday manor

....and thats about it!! Lets go over my conclusions one more time, ranked in order of what I think is most likely!

The knight isn't actually literally December Holiday, but instead something based off of her

2. The knight is lurking around hometown in the form of some terrifying shadow crystal beast

3. Dess is the character speaking in the "UNUSED" code

4. Dess is also the "fallen star" mentioned in the chapter 4 egg room, and accidentally created the knight as a fictionalized version of her identity that believes itself to be real by losing track of reality and fiction

Congrats on making it to the end!! Im trying my best to make sense of all this information and contort it into some kind of conclusion that makes sense and works with the themes of the game, but theres so much to unpack here that its hard to even know where to start (i didnt even mention the 1225 gumball machine room...)

Last time I did one of these I made a bunch of mistakes, so please do let me know in the comments if you catch anything!! Also let me know what you guys think about this, i'm so curious to know all your guys' interpretations!!!
