I know it’s basically already established that Lester is slowly incorporating Meg’s vocabulary into his own; however, I think it’d be funny if she conversely was also mirroring his expressions.
She starts doing it solely because he’s annoyed by it. While Meg was conditioned to keep her emotions heavily guarded as to not have them exploited, Lester is physically incapable of keeping a poker face in any situation so there’s always something on display when she looks at him. Meg thinks it’s incredibly funny how irritated he gets when he’s pouting and she starts mimicking him - which only encourages her to keep doing it.
But then as the weeks go on, she subconsciously develops the same habit of pulling the most judgmental face possible whenever something stupid happens. And then she glances over at Lester and he’s coincidentally already making the same expression, and Meg has to pretend it was intentional despite the fact it’s clearly no longer a bit she’s doing.
Sibling soul-bond shenanigans, and what not.

I think about apollo and artemis so often. apollo is physically and emotionally abused by his father and his support system is basically non-existent, the only person he could've talked to is artemis because she knows how to deal with victims of abuse, she has been doing this for centuries but artemis unknowingly contributes to apollo's abuse by the nagging/lecturing (boo)which makes apollo believe that his father is in the right and the problem lies with apollo and this renders apollo even more unable to speak up. they're literally so special to me.they slowly drift apart because of the facade apollo puts on as a result of the abuse. artemis starts being constantly annoyed at her brother's presence because apollo now acts even more impulsively and triggers zeus' wrath and he's just an idiot in general who flirts with her hunters but she still gets worried when apollo doesnt drop in at the hunt atleast once every 3 weeks but tells herself that he must be fooling off on olympus with the other pompous fools or persuing some mortal. apollo doesn't listen to his father, doesn't pay attention at olympian meetings, calls her little sis despite knowing she helped delivered him and this all just makes her madder at him but he's her brother so she tolerates him. she thinks he's an idiot but is unaware of the fact that her dear little brother is an abuse victim, that too at the hands of their father. there's no way artemis has corelated apollo with abuse because cmon, apollo is an olympian, one of the most powerful beings, what creature would dare hurt him? and even if any did, he would take artemis' help because they're meant to fight side by side, as siblings, as they did against typhon and all the enemies of olympus.plus, apollo is very dramatic and expressive so either he'd tell her or she'd find it out herself.artemis is a daddy's girl, she knows that zeus is sometimes hard on apollo but it's because apollo was being an idiot again, and her father was just doing his job as king. apollo and artemis slowly drift apart as apollo tries to sheild his sister from the dark parts of his life and artemis is blissfully ignorant to the abuse happening behind the scenes and apollo thinks he's succeeded but he's left with loneliness and a constant sense of despair. he thinks his sister hates him because she never attends any of his concerts and she snaps and bickers with him whenever they meet and never has anything to good to say about him (ttc, boo) and doesn't want him around. as godlings they were so close and told each other everything ̶ ̶(except the truth about the python incident) and had secrets they kept from their mother but now they hardly have any meaningful conversation and all they do is bicker which is why artemis never told apollo about moonwater and the waystation. artemis never even defends his name in front of others (boo->its athena that steps in).
I love artemis unknowingly contributing to the abuse. themz<3

AU where Michael survives the fall off the Williamsburg Bridge, but is badly injured, so Apollo brings him over to Asclepius to heal back up, and get physical therapy and occupational therapy, but Apollo and Asclepius (and Epione and hers and Asclepius' children) are all gods and have no sense of time, so they accidently keep Michael away from the rest of the half-bloods for eleven months until Jason, Leo, and Piper go to get the Physicians Cure, and to their surprise a demigod is there.
Now, since Asclepius has been focusing on healing Michael and also barely leaves Epidaurus, he also forgot to tell Michael about the whole war thing, so he's honestly really confused.
And then Leo recognizes him because Will has a picture of Michael on his quiver (and while giving the tour to Leo, the picture caught his eye and stuck, because adhd really makes you remember the randomest stuff) and tells him everything.
Michael is stubborn so when he hears about said war, he's ready to go, bows blazing, he wants to help. Asclepius thinks this is actually a terrible idea because you've barely been able to walk for a few months without crutches, and are still not at full strength, and Dad'll be disappointed if I let you go, but Michael's going.
So, along with the physicians cure, Jason, Leo, and Piper bring one feral Apollo kid back to the Argo II.
Percy thinks he's hallucinating because the guy he accidently killed is right there and maybe Tartarus messed him up more than he thought, and Annabeth is gaping at him.
Hazel and Frank have never been more confused in their life, which is saying a lot because both of them have the tendency to get confused over tiny things.
So, Michael becomes a temp member of the Argo II. Him and Frank get along amazing, and are always taking about archery and comparing bows (Frank's nearly two feet taller than Michael so his bow is actually twice Michael's bows size). And him and Percy have a much needed talk about the battle.
Sad part is Michael has to watch his father be banished and not heard from in six months (not fun), but good news is when Apollo does show up, we can get some quality Michael and Meg friendship! Apollo wishes they'd never met, but Meg adores Michael so much.
Meg jabbed Apollo with her elbow. "Your son is so cool."
Apollo glanced at where his eldest son at camp was currently chasing Sherman Yang with a broken arrow shaft, cursing with a variety of colorful language that, if he hadn't heard Meg say worse, he would be tempted to cover her ears. "I agree."
Meg clicked her tongue. "Must have got it from his mother, because you're lame."
Apollo gasped, clutching his chest dramatically. "Meg, you wound me!"
Meg chuckled softly. "Sucks to face the truth."
Another awesome scene could be Will, Kayla, and Austin reuniting with him, or Michael getting to curse out Octavian! (Would pay money to see).
Will I do anything with this AU? Maybe. I have too many WIP right now to dedicate time to it, but maybe it'll come sooner or later. I definitely want to write a Michael survives story (all the ones I've read are actually some of my favorite things ever), but whether I choose to do this one is up in the air.

I often see the sentiment that Apollo is somehow incapable of lying due to truth being one of his domains, but I don’t think that’s a fair assessment of his character nor giving him enough credit.
He’s a compulsive liar in TOA, albeit it’s not done maliciously. It’s a coping mechanism so deeply ingrained in him that it takes two and a half books for him to admit to us that he doesn’t actually believe half the arrogant and selfish things he’s been telling the cast and the readers. He’s a very contradictory god! Apollo’s own domains are opposites of each other (disease/healing). He can be multifaceted!
I think if anything, it just means that it’s more impactful when he’s honest. When he indulges in allowing himself to be vulnerable, openly admitting how much he loves his friends and family as well as owning up to his mistakes, Apollo has a way of leaving people speechless. His companions gain a newfound respect for him, and I think that’s mostly because of him finally being truthful. There’s more power in his words when he’s not being fake.
He’s fully capable of lying, he’s just weaker doing so.
