What kind of Dragon is this! This is Neither a Tannin or a Valkirtani, the story of Soaring takes place on a relatively small continent, more like a large island, there is a much larger world still out there with other Dragons, Creatures, Cultures, Magics, etc... Azel aka “Hem Locke” The Interloper

Background: Hem Locke is an exile from another continent across the east sea. He came to the land of Laramidia but he has made no effort to interact with Dragons here and actively tries to disappear if he's approached. Some Dragons believe he is a Cryptid, and he's not the only one.

When Hem Locke was banished from his village as a child, he was brought into a "new family���. Now he searching for the remains of his siblings who have scattered to various corners of Laramidia.

Personality: Hem is a very private but kind dragon who tries to only move around when visibility is at his lowest, but he will step in to protect others albeit in a way that won’t reveal his existence. For now he is almost entirely focused on his mission. Only once that’s done will he return home to his beloved mate. However he does appear to have a strange fascination with the 7 Calamities. For whatever reason he doesn’t feel threatened by them.

Strengths: Larger Body, Strong Flier, Surprisingly Stealthy

Weaknesses: Isolated, Insomnia, Fearful

Powers: Void Magic, Enhanced Passive Perception (Those frills by his head are sensitive and pick up movement in the air around him so he is able to feel motion from all directions)

Stats Stamina: 10/10 He can outlast almost anything physically and his magical powers offer a lot of power

Control: 4/10 His magic is unwieldy and violent. He is more like a conductor than a musician, he can direct his power but doesn’t have a lot of command over it.

Intelligence: 8/10 While having no formal education Hem is a quick learner and even taught himself Laramidia’s language

Combat ability: 9/10 He’s unstoppable in the air and extremely dangerous on the ground. He invented several combat techniques to use in the air and on the ground. His only weakness is confined spaces

The is the code name that I’ve given to my “menopause”. Yep! Naming my life altering health conditions has become a personal tradition and ironic joke for myself. A previous psychologist stated that it was a very creative way to separate myself mentally from my diagnosis. In other words, “I’m not defined by my diagnosis.” Being able to recognize yourself (personality; true temperament; character) in contrast to the mood altering power of your own crazy hormones is an amazing achievement. Let alone the mental endurance to continuous do it all the time. This is so far how I’ve able hold onto any ounce of sanity; the rest comes from God. 😵‍💫 Also journaling and typing up blog posts on here help me alot too. Believe me! Typing this post out is so helping me remain calmer from both Philomena & Modwenna’s insane influence. 😭

The pop culture japanese icon that best personifies my Modwenna is Gloomy the Naughty Grizzly. For she greatly accelerates my irritation/anger meter in contrast to my Philomena (PMDD), who simply transforms me into a brain fog zombie. 🤤

Modwenna definitely brings out my dark humor side, and I’m not proud of it. 😖 I’m so freak’n tired; physically; mentally and emotionally. Basically keeping myself alone in my bedroom so to not bite off my son or hubby’s head. 😫 I simply loathe you both, Philomena & Modwenna!!!

super curious today about how people feel toward the names they might have been given. apparently i used to ask my mom about my “boy name” several times a week and get really sad i couldn’t have both my given name and that name. being trans this is hilarious to me now so wondering

also curious how this intersects with being trans!! i feel like my fixation with it definitely had a lot to do with that, so idk add in tags? if you feel like being trans makes you more/less curious about it

If you watch the concerts from the 2 time's Michael wizet Copenhagen in 1997, you would never know what was going on before I tell you about it now. At both shows I got to spend about 15 min with him before he went out on stage, and at his birthday I had my mom with me because Michael invite her to come backstage to say hi to him. the naming of hunger games characters is absolutely masterful. each one could have a whole page written about it, and tho i can't say anything that hasn't already been pointed out a million times, i do want to highlight one generality. most of the names in the districts are one of two things: common words (altered or not) to become names, often in line with their district's culture (Gloss, Thresh), or phonetic shifts of contemporary common names (peeta being derived from peter). this suggests, without changing how the characters speak, the idea of linguistic evolution, which in turn is representative of change and of local cultural. the districts are a people in dialogue and evolution with one another. and now compare this with the names of those in the capitol. off the top of my head i think of Plutarch, Coriolanus, Flavius, fucking Caesar. these are, one, roman names, which further serves to reinforce the comparison between the capitol and rome and all that entails, but these roman names, names that have been etched in stone and unchanged for millennia, are a stark contrast with the alive and dynamic names of the districts. it's just another (not so) subtle way that collins reminds us of the differences and the values of the capitol versus the districts.
