Südengland 2023 - Tag 25
Ladies and Gentlemen!
Good Night!
Angie, Micha und Mr. Bunnybear (Hasenbär)

Hello, hello! Have some festive Nordics!
When December rolls around, it's time to have a formal Christmas dinner with friends and family. Or attending one organized by your workplace or hobby club! While the name varies between the countries, the traditions are pretty much the same; eating a hefty Christmas meal, singing together, playing party games, and of course lots of drinking; leading to the unspoken rule of "What happens in Julebord stays in Julebord"
#haven't had time to post so i decided to go all out! hope you like it!#hws denmark#hws finland#hws iceland#hws norway#hws sweden#hws nordics#hetalia#my art#this is by far the biggest piece I have done so we will see how tumblr decides to upload this image#you could fill up a chapel ceiling with these canvas sizes I'm using jfc. i need to calm down next time

wolfwood redraws (ID in alt text)
#nicholas d wolfwood#trigun#trigun maximum#tw blood#going to be talking vol 9 spoilers in here pls do not read if u have not read it!!#wolfwood my beloved. he's such a battle genius with such strong survival instincts and incentive to fight. it makes me so sad but also#it's just the way he's been able to live for as long as he has [explodes]#midvalley calling him a demon/devil (iforget which word) and livio being like “victory seems impossible” when faced against him aughhh AUGH#he's clearly not invincible - vol 8 proved that when he almost did get beat if not for vash swooping back in... but the way he carries#the battles really makes it feel like it. especially whenever he “revives” for the sake of protecting another person. i.e. him getting#back up to defeat livio - him battered and worn from the fight but then pushing his body to get up when chapel aimed at the orphanage#and then despite the blood gushing out of him he still regained cautiousness to defend razlo at the end.... ugh.... ugh.....#anyway... i love how nightow draws ww - these were fun to do. ive been meaning to do these redraws esp from vol 9/10#and maybe ill go back to do redraws from his previous fights. all and all i just need to get down how he uses the punisher properly#ruporas art

Emmrich is fastidious in his grooming habits and wouldn’t be caught dead (lol) looking anything other than his best at all times, but don’t let that fool you into thinking he’s afraid to get dirty: the man works with the deceased. Embalming people requires a strong stomach. If anything he’s the one stepping up to deal with the bag of extremely rotten carrots that fell behind the shelf in the pantry and remained there for a month before the smell got so bad *someone* had to deal with it.
It makes his entire DAY when the gang stumbles upon a corpse that’s been dead for awhile and he’s going, “The advancement of tissue gas at this stage of decomposition has turned his skin that striking chartreuse colour - if you gently press on it you can actually feel the bubbles snapping under the dermis! Give me your hand, Rook!”
Meanwhile everyone else is gagging or actually throwing up because of the smell alone - never mind the green bloated dead guy.
#emmrich#emmrich volkarin#dragon age#dragon age emmrich#veilguard#datv#the man loves gross things let’s be real#i just had a tissue gas memory and thought of this#her cremation paperwork was delayed so we had to wait to cremate her#our lead embalmer was at the chapel because i needed his help with a visitation that wasn’t looking good#and he smelled the tissue gas lady from upstairs and practically ran down to the crem#just to take the lid off her container and give me a lecture about tissue gas#the lecture uh… stuck#as did the smell

watched jsmn and then read the whole book in a week so i’m thinking abt segundus - the idea that segundus is a primary johannite on acct of strange’s magic, and his friendship with segundus is so interesting to me because segundus is described as (1) a genuinely good gentleman, (2) an avid lover of magic, and (3) a biographer and close friend of one of the most powerful magicians in 300 years. and i was thinking abt childermass as usual - but what kind of insane post-canon relationship would the two have, when childermass’ egging him on is the reason segundus picks up enough courage to ‘do the magic’??? like strange making summoning dreams was enough to nab segundus the first time - can u imagine the levels of worship this man would secretly cultivate for the 1 dude who like is the face of a new era of magic PLUS the dude who pushed him into actually DOING magic??!
#john segundus#john childermass#johnsquared#jonathan strange and mr norrell#jsmn#js&mn#they make me SICK#not a ship on earth that’s got me so fundamentally down as these two#what do you MEAN he said do the magic and HE DID?!!!#what do you MEAN the chapel the sky the whatever and CHILDERMASS??!?!!!?!???

“I don’t need you.”
It sounded less grounded than the villain had wanted it to. It sounded like something someone had told them to say, and they were just repeating it with half hearted determination. They said it again, “I don’t need you.”
“No,” the hero agreed. They were grinning. “You don’t.”
The villain floundered. They, in all honesty, wanted a fight. To prove something, they supposed. That they really didn’t need the hero. That they weren’t in the wrong, here. “What?”
“I said,” the hero said slowly, and the beginnings of a grin curled at the edges of their mouth. “You don’t need me.”
“I don’t need you,” the villain repeated, and the hero nodded encouragingly. It just made the villain want to hit them.
The hero lounged against the doorframe, halfway in and halfway out of their apartment. And truly, that was the worst bit of it all—the hero wasn’t showing up outside the villain’s house, or driving by the villain’s work to see if they truly looked happier without them. But the villain was.
They wanted to scream, and kick, and throw plates onto the ground.
‘Leave me alone.’
But they couldn’t say that, because the hero had. They had cut contact and blocked numbers and ignored the villain’s car as it went by. Still, the villain felt haunted. As if they would never be clean of the hero, parts of their soul forever dirtied by it all.
The hero’s smile, and the way their voice sounded when they knew the villain would cave to their wishes.
They just wanted the hero to—
“Leave me alone.” It slipped out against their better judgement. From the way the hero’s grin widened, they knew it had been the worst thing they could have said.
“Darling, I have,” the hero said, their tone saccharine. Pitying. “You’re the one outside of my apartment.”
It felt like being burned alive, the frustration of it. The way it rose in their chest but had nowhere to go, leaving them shaking with nothing and everything trapped under their tongue.
“That’s not what I meant and you know that—“
“What, you miss me that bad? I thought you—“
“Shut up,” the villain snapped. The hero raised an eyebrow.
“It’s eating you alive, isn’t it?” They sounded pleased.
“It’s not,” the villain protested.
“I told you, you don’t need me.”
“I know,” the villain grit out.
“But you want me.”
Something in the villain’s brain stalled.
“Excuse me?”
“You don’t need me. You never have,” the hero said it like it was a fact. “You want me, though. Even as the sound of my name burns you, and the memory of me rots in your mouth, you’re going to want me.”
“You’re wrong.”
“Am I?” The hero’s voice dropped to a whisper. “You can go out to every bar in this city, kiss a hundred people who look like me and get just drunk enough to forget you’re not mine anymore—but you’re never going to stop missing me.”
The hero knew, of course they did, how hard the villain had tried to forget it entirely. The disaster they had become trying to be clean again.
“No matter how many shots you take to block out the memory of me, you’ll always be mine.”
“You’re insane,” the villain finally managed. The hero simply tipped their head to the side in acknowledgement. “That’s not-what’s wrong with you—“
“You’re the one who misses me.”
It stung, deep in the villain’s stomach. It took them too long to remember how to breathe—too long after that to think of what to say.
“If I’m lucky, I won’t ever have to see you again,” their voice quivered, slightly. “But knowing us, the next time we meet it will be in hell.”
The hero laughed and closed the door in their face.
The villain blocked them. Avoided the side of town the worked in. Moved three cities over.
It didn’t matter.
The villain could still feel the hero under their skin.
Later, whenever someone would ask, “Have you ever been haunted?”
The villain would think back to the hero.
And say, “Yes.”

But Spirks: You ushered in the golden age of AO3, and you’re so real for enjoying that hand-shake in SNW 2x06.

Chapel x Ortegas girlies: You’re so, so right, preach to the bi choir.
Spuhura enjoyers: 10 y/o me watching Zachary Quinto & Zoe Saldana was right there with you, and Celia & Ethan bleed so much talent, I sincerely understand.

The way I’m like “I recognize that Marisol is a plot device and is around to get Eddie where he needs to go to ultimately get off his own hamster wheel, and also that it would be bad and lazy writing to have them break up at this point without showing the audience why” but also “god I am not your strongest soldier”…yeah…

OMG!!! THIS EPISODE WAS EVERYTHING!!!!
It was fun, emotional, and serious when it needed to be. It was the kind of episode you would want to rewatch even years later.
Stop reading right now if you don't want to get spoiled...
.
.
All the characters brought some fantastic performances. But Ethan Peck and Jess Bush killed it! They were both outstanding.
Ethan Peck's transition from a struggling half Vulcan half human to a %100 human who's fast pacing his teenage period and back to Vulcan-Human was incredible to watch.
Jess Bush had some amazing moments. Chapel pouring her heart out to the ancient Alien to save Spock brought tears to my eyes. When she told the annoying Vulcan that the fellowship wasn't ready for her? I screamed "YAAASSSS GIRL!"…
And of course the last scene with Spock and Chapel. WOW… JUST WOW… It was so powerful!
Look, I know chemistry is subjective and all but come on people. Spock and Chapel are one of those ships that have sizzling chemistry! Ethan and Jess have it!
And I also have to mention Anson Mount too coz Pike's facial expressions were hilarious. This guy can do drama, action and comedy too! I would really love to see him doing more comedy in the future.
There are so many Spapel bits from this episode that I want to talk about but I need to rewatch the episode first… So watch this space…

movie touga makes me so beyond insane. the way he got to inhabit the role of the doomed prince exactly like dios did in the series and died in the same senseless sacrificial way while someone he loved begged him to save himself. the way he suffered and suffered and was so brutalized and still somehow stayed gentle enough to drown for a girl he didnt even know. a version of touga that held onto his kindness and nobility and never turned bitter and hard in order to survive. so he died.
#🙈#utena#touga kiryuu#worst boy on campus#theres ofc more to say here about how he stayed trapped in this stupid gendered dichotomy btwn dominator (destroys) / prince (is destroyed)#but personally i do read the film as related to the series canon and like. imo this is who series touga wanted to be ultimately#he wanted to suffer the same agonies and then be utena's hero and die stupid and tragic and loved#he wanted to hold her in the chapel and tell her how much he cared instead of walking away completely unable to comfort her#but series touga just couldn't be that person. his life already happened a different way#he didnt want to survive. deep down he just wanted to be good and die. LIKE A MORON#i just. GOD. IT'S SO STUPID. BUT I LOVE HIM SO MUCH#fucking idiot who lacks the imagination to conceptualize himself surviving outside of patriarchal norms so he just wants to die for a woman!
