An abuser denies the abuse ever took place, attacks the person that was abused (often the victim) for attempting to hold the abuser accountable for their actions, and claims that they are actually the victim in the situation, thus reversing what may be a reality of victim and offender. It often involves not just "playing the victim" but also victim blaming.

TL;Dr: Stop pathologizing neurodivergent people and individualizing abuse, and start treating abusers and bullies as a social failing that are products of privilege.

There is no evidence handwashing weakens your immune system. There is no evidence that adopting unsanitary practices makes your immune system stronger. But there is a lot of evidence that handwashing and other precautions protects you and others from infectious diseases, especially in risky environments like bathrooms.

Dib meets one of the tallest in person and uh... is actually rather awed. He kinda gets it now. Zim is like "see?! the tallest are great!"

The story that goes with this is that Dib becomes ill, but oddly, with a somewhat rare Irken disease (stemming from a long term complication from when Zim's PAK attached to him way back when, it messed with something internally in Dib's body). So Zim takes Dib along with him to meet Red, to get Dib some Irken medicine/cure. Red has a huge crush on Zim so he tends to give him whatever he asks for (or gives him SOMETHING anyway, if he can't give him what he wants), and Zim knows this, although maybe a little in denial about the actual crush part.

aka: the "Dib gets to visit Irk and experience a bunch of Irken Culture" fic :D

DoR picks up a few days after The Sun and the Stars but diverges from several things established in ToA. Some of these divergences are handwaves (like Reyna relinquishing her aegis), but others hugely impact the story (like Jason’s death). This fic is pretending to be the latest instalment to the Rickverse; many characters are OCs, including Reyna’s co-narrator. We get a whole new set of prophecies and pick up on ToA’s loose threads.

The writing aims to be wholeheartedly queer, multicultural, and ““taboo””—because it’s fun and we’re sexy and I like to eat people’s yummy food. DoR isn’t a grittier/dirtier/whateverier version of canon, it’s just a fic that let me write about what I know and begin to learn about stuff I didn’t.

Essentially: Rick has a diverse cast; that fucks, make it louder. Just because!

That said, I wanted to have fun writing a story. There isn’t a letter in this final version that I didn’t enjoy putting to paper. If you wanna know what “fun” looks like to a yapping literary nerd with chronic hangnails and a bottle of methylphenidate, DoR is feverishly symptomatic. please read or i’ll cry like this 😢

doing a Mando Season 1 & 2 rewatch for Obvious Reasons and honestly, the vibes of the first 3 episodes are so.... particular. Andor is the only one that comes close to matching the vibes but Andor also surpasses them into its own beast. Mando Season 1 is just this small story about a faceless bounty hunter in a troublesome corner of a galaxy far, far away who crosses paths with a mysterious child. Such a nice wonderful isolated story within a greater galaxy. Makes me wonder why only Andor has been able to match these vibes. But I won't go into that because enough people already went into that. I'm just thinking about these vibes , and it feels like.... a time capsule. this first season is a time capsule sending me all the way back to 2019, where this show was promising to save me from the fallout of the ST. I have such a vivid memory of going to Disneyland afterwards and despairing because I couldn't find Mando merch, and I have such a vivid memory of reading twitter as people began reporting a strange contagious sickness in China.
